Super Earth History: Our New Super Citizens

In 2094 ten years after the Galactic War, as the Federation of Super Earth reeled from the unprovoked attacks of the Terminid, Cyborg and Illuminate menace and as we rebuilt we came across a species in a sorry state of existence: The Vorcha.

The Vorcha's homeworld, Heshtok as they called it, was a wretched place, the Vorcha lived in squalor, its frequent volcanic activity releasing constant contamination to the food and water, leading to the Vorchas unique biology as we will discuss later.

It was a world akin to a prison, a world that only knew violence as communication and election decision making, a world veering to resource depletion even in its primitive tribal state, a world that served as a modern cautionary tale of the perils of without Managed Democracy to avoid such pitfalls.

Even battered as we were, we knew it was our duty to help the poor creatures, free them of their shackles but sadly their entire existence of hardship led to an instinctive response in violence.

It was the first time since the end of the Galactic War that Super earths finest, the Helldivers were called in, as Operation: Firm Helping Hand was launched. The Vorcha had no formal military to speak of, yet they proved more resistant than initially expected.

Thankfully, after a year and a half of surgical strikes, the Vorcha finally seemed to see the light and welcomed Super earth's forces with bowed heads and open hands.

The integration process was not nearly as painful as the welcoming process. The Vorcha acknowledged Super Earth's and Managed Democracy's superiority, despite some lingering doubts among some Citizens opinions.

However it seemed they had too little faith in our new Super Citizens, for in merely twenty five years, not a single Vorcha had any doubts about our system. Vorcha only live around twenty years, the longest lived one twenty five years and they mature rapidly, a Vorcha equivalent to a proud serving human child of seven years is merely two months for them. They are adaptable citizens, with proper training and experience can become just as capable as a human in any task.

Their secret lies in their non-differentiated cells. These cells allow the Vorcha regenerative abilities, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to their environment, such as developing thicker skin after being burned or increased musculature to survive in high gravity. When a Vorcha is injured or in distress, these cells move to the affected area and rapidly heal any damage.

For example, a Vorcha that is cut or burned will adapt to have thicker skin. The lungs of a Vorcha placed in a barely-breathable atmosphere will adapt to better use the gases there. A Vorcha subjected to high gravity will quickly develop stronger heart and leg muscles. Non-differentiated Vorcha cell clusters do replenish themselves, but the process is slow.

Generally, our Vorcha citizens can only adapt to a single environment within their brief lives. However, what cells are replaced allow them to heal rapidly, and even to regrow lost limbs over a period of months. Use of Stims however, has shown to increase the effect to a single month.

Breeding restrictions are of even upmost importance for them, as a single Vorcha pair can produce a dozen eggs in a matter of a single clutch, and the eggs themselves only take one month to hatch.

It was this last fact that has led to the historic occasion once the Second Galactic War of 2184 had kicked off.

The Terminids, farmed for their production of E-710 had broken loose of their containment measures in one half of he galaxy and the suspected perpetrators of said actions, The Automatons, besieging the other half.

With war on Super earths doorstep once more, a decision was voted on and approved posthaste: Alien Helldivers. Although humans are and still will be forever the faithful backbone of the elite force, the Vorcha have proven themselves to be loyal and proud Citizens in every other respect and unlike the Cyborgs who are ungrateful for their own voted on decision of working to provide for Super Earth in the Cyberstan mines, the Vorcha and Humanity had transformed Heshtok into a vibrant and thriving colony world, a perfect symbol of the Perfect Super Union.

As such, after a swift vote, the first Vorcha Helldiver passed training and earned his cape overseen by Grand General Maria Cornelius herself for such an occasion. Naming the Super Destroyed 'Arm of Vengeance' he heads with others to the Terminid Front.

And more are on the way! As the fronts of the war take shape, we need more Helldivers to lead the way to victory! Whether Human or Vorcha, you are all Super Citizens and have a duty to Super earth.

Join the Helldivers today!

Meersk proudly walked the halls of the Arm of Vengeance cape flowing behind him, the first of his kind finally joining Super Earths finest, the Helldivers.

"Cadet Meersk, Democracy Officer Pressly, it's an honor sir."

"Pleasure is all mine. I look forward to spreading Democracy to those vile bugs. Are we ready to head out?"

"Almost, we have three other ships joining us, Helldiver protocol advises having four men squads per mission for maximum efficiency."

Multiple calls of allied destroyed rang out and soon, three more Helldivers joined the Arm.

"Cadet Richard Jenkins reporting sir, it's an honor!" The young man excitedly, almost bouncing with anticipation, claimed.

"Cadet Lilith Addison, ready for bug stomping sir." The young woman replied.

"Cadet Writcka, I'm the second Vorcha Helldiver, I even saw you leave atmosphere!"

Returning a Super Earth salute Meersk got to the task at hand. "Well met all of you, we have little time for pleasantries at the moment, but know this, I expect nothing but perfection

They gathered around the galaxy map and soon began forming the plan for their mission.

"Angels Venture is where we are heading. We an order pertaining to it's Liberation. We are the vanguard and that means letting the infantry and bugs know Super Earth is not letting go of that planet as such, we have a duty to close as many bug nests as we can before they get too out of control. Leave no bug within sight alive, and dispense Liber-Tea into their wretched holes. Are we clear?"

"Yes sir, for Liberty!" The other three saluted, eyes blazing behind their helmets.

And so, with among the first Helldive to commence in nearly a hundred years, the four pods dropped down the planet below and every single bug they came across was dead, and not a single casualty reported.

It was however, only the beginning of a very long, and costly war.

Well Helldivers 2 occupi- I mean Liberated my mind to no end recently and I had this particular idea in my head for some time now. Really the closest thing Super earth will get to Petting the Dog as TV Tropes puts it.

Sad to say, the Vorcha never get any screen time in fics so this was an attempt to fix that for them as well, even if this ends up being a one shot, which it likely will be. I never understood why first contact stories never involved them, they really are a fascinating ethical question with no good answer.

Believe me, it really says how much of a short straw the Vorcha got in Mass Effect canon that this is an arguably if ethically questionable, better deal than that. They only got off their home planet because they stowed away in ships. And it's canon that Vorcha raised in environments outside of their typical violence filled lifestyle can change to that scenario as evidence by the Asari adapting some Vorcha and them being perfectly adapted.

So for better and worse Super Earth is the stick enforcing the change and the ones with little ethical qualms over this.

And just like the merc groups in mass Effect, they get an entire race of easily trained and indoctrinated troops that breed like crazy. Only now it's for Democracy instead of credits.

And if anyone thinks it took a little long to subdue the Vorcha, the Reapers themselves had trouble brining them into submission.
