AN. You know, it's kind of funny that as a mother, I'm not good at giving Lilith some focus time. I think it's because we hadn't really seen a whole lot of her in the series as of yet, and it doesn't help that I'm starting to build some weird theories about her that I don't feel fit this series. I might write a story where that theory fits, but there's a lot of stuff I'd need to work out for it to work first.

Regardless, Tuca suggested what inspired this one as well.

I'd like to say thank you to everyone who's reviewed on this (I know, it might seem weird since I post of as well). It really does mean a lot for me that there are others out there enjoying these silly little stories and I'm very happy knowing that they can bring a smile on someone's face.

I'd also like to add that my bible studies are not overly great so sorry if some lore facts are wrong. I won't be correcting them though because I get he feeling from Hazbin Hotel that the story we know about Heaven and Hell isn't exactly the real story. So I'd making that bit as I go. Hopefully it doesn't offend anyone but hey, there's a reason it's called fanfiction, right?

Again, suggestion are absolutely welcomed. I do hunt the internet for ideas and inspiration as well as draw from my own experiences with my daughter.

Chapter One

While Daddy's Away...

"Say 'bye bye' Charlie," Lilith encouraged as she moved her daughter's tiny hand up and down to wave farewell. "Say bye bye to Daddy."

Charlie just stared in confusion as she sucked on her pacifier. She wasn't really sure why but Daddy seemed to be crying while Uncle Ozzie and Uncle Satan was dragging him towards a waiting car. There had been talk about a quarterly meeting at Leviathan Von Eldritch's home and apparently Lucifer wasn't keen on going.

Lilith chuckled as she listened to Asmodeus yelling loudly for the man to pull himself together while Lucifer complained that Charlie might need him. He really was a doting father, far more than his own had been. And who could blame him. In the nearly five months since she was born, Lucifer had been present to many of her milestones. From rolling over to crawling, from getting her first tooth and throwing her first real tantrum, Lucifer embraced everything that came with parenting, both good and bad.

He had always been there for their baby.

But now it was Lilith's turn to show she too could handle their little ray of light in Hell. Sure, she hadn't had Charlie as often because of her work, but today Lilith had made sure she was taking a break and bonding with her baby. Lucifer would be gone for three days at the most and that was only because it was tradition to travel to these meetings and not appear with magic.

"Bye-bye, Charlie. Daddy loves you!" Lucifer called from the car, Azmodeus already growling as he tried to shove the man in. "I'll be home soon!"

"Will you get in the car already!" Oz growled, his blue flames flashing red for a moment as his patient was running thin. "For fucks sake, we still have to pick up Bee as well and you know that bitch is going to be hungover."

Whimpering, Lucifer slowly got into the back seat of the car, barely tucking his feet into safety when Oz slammed the door shut. He pressed his face up against the glass, watching his wife and daughter as they waved farewell. He was watching and secretly hoping for any sign that Charlie might suddenly get upset by him leaving.

"Maybe I could just take her with us," Lucifer tried reaching for the door handle. "I'm sure-"

"Fuck no! Satan, grab him!"

Oz stomped his foot against the door hard enough to jam it. Inside, Satan merely placed a firm hand on the reluctant king's shoulder, pushing him firmly to be seated again. Walking around Azmodeus got behind the wheel, started the car and stomped on the gas. Once they had peeled away from the manor, Oz finally looked back at Lucifer with a slightly apologetic expression. Boy could the man look like a kicked hell pup sometimes.

"Listen Luc, I get it," Oz assured him. "You're use to taking care of Charlotte most of the time and you miss her. I get it! Charlie is cute as sin. But if you bring her to this, we aint getting shit done!"

Lucifer looked longingly back at his home, worry etched on his face while Satan chuckled. He had never been gone for more than half a day without her. Lilith had, sure, but not him. He couldn't help but miss the feeling of her resting in his arms as the tiny fingers would play with his hair or feathers. It felt wrong to not be able to see her and hear her little giggles at random intervals.

"I'm sure Charlie wouldn't interrupt us." Lucifer pouted only to have Satan chuckle next to him.

"I fear, my dear friend, that Azmodeus is referring to you, not the little princess," The goat smirked as his king gave him a puzzled look. "Tell me, young king, do you recall when Damian was born and I brought him to a meeting?"

"Don't fucking remind me," Oz groaned, already feeling past phantom pains in his body. "That little menace was climbing the walls, literally, and head butted anyone he could for fun."

"As kids do. It builds strength," The Lord of Wrath reminded him. "Though I recall him also eating you tail-"

"I know what that shit head did!" Oz growled, recalling how Mammon had laughed his ass off was Satan's boy stood innocently chewing the rooster feathers he had torn off the Sin of Lust. "He's lucky I like kids or I would have smacked him."

Lucifer chuckled a little, recalling that meeting. It thankfully hadn't been important because they had all spent most of it running after the baby goat, trying to catch him before Satan managed to scare the boy into a stiff faint. At the time it had freaked Bee out but Satan assured her it was normal and the little prince would recover soon.

"Charlie can't even stand yet without help," Lucifer argued. "She can hardly be as chaotic as Damien was then."

"Make no mistake, as a father I understand the fine balance between ruler and parent, but you tend to favor your daughter over all else." Satan interjected

"Meaning-"

"You won't focus and neither will any of the rest of us if she joined," Oz replied as he headed towards the Gluttony ring. "Now let your wife have her girl time. You've got to share our kid."

"Our kid?" Lucifer frowned only to groan as he realized he had walked into a trap. "Don't-"

"Of course our kid," Oz laughed at Lucifer's expense. "I helped make her!"

It was probably a good thing Oz had sped out of the manor grounds the way he had. Once Charlie realized that her father had left and wasn't coming back right away, she started whining and crying in her mother's arms. Lilith had been ready for this though. Belphegor had told them it wasn't uncommon for infants to have clingy moments, so the moment Charlie's eyes started to tear up, Lilith cuddled her baby close and walked calmly back inside.

"Oh, now now. You can't do that Charlie. You have to be our brave little girl," She lightly scolded though her tone was soft and playful. "If Daddy saw you right now, Uncle Ozzie wouldn't be able to get him past the door."

Settling down with her daughter, Lilith pulled out a children's picture book. Thankfully Charlie was a pretty easy baby, so the pretty pictures in the book distracted her from missing Lucifer. Which was good, since Lilith was planning on getting as much bonding time in with her baby as possible.

As they settled down in the sofa, Lilith began reading the book to Charlie, or rather she would point at something in the book and say what they were. She was hoping maybe she could get Charlie to say her first word as she was becoming more vocal. Lucifer had been certain she had said 'ma ma' the other day but a jury of Belphegor and Oz had vetoed it to Charlie just mimicking sounds.

"You know, you would make both Mommy and Daddy happy if you said 'Ma ma', Charlie," she mused, kissing Charlie's forehead as they snuggled up with one another. Charlotte just smiled around her pacifier as a tiny soft hand gently touched her mother's cheek. "Can you say 'Ma ma'?"

"Ba pttfff!" Charlie simply babbled and giggled. Lilith pouted slight at her daughter, feeling that Charlie was avoiding saying anything just to tease them.

"You're your father's daughter, that's for sure," Lilith mused and flipped the page in the picture book only to regret it. Charlie let out a shriek of delight as a collection of yellow objects filled the page and instantly spotted the massive rubber duck. "Damn it all, not you too! What is it with this family and ducks?"

It seemed the battle of the ducks was nowhere close to being over.

It wasn't until Lilith was putting a reluctant Charlie down for her nap, when a wrench was thrown into her plans. They had spent the morning playing with her blocks and dolls before eating a messy lunch. Charlie was starting to demand some independence when it came to eating and was insisting to hold the spoons herself. She wanted to hold the forks as well but Lucifer's heart couldn't handle the idea yet that his baby was getting bigger.

Though, Lilith had to admit she nearly had had a heart attack when Charlie nearly stabbed herself with a fork, so maybe he wasn't completely wrong.

She had only just finished reading her a nap time story, and was putting her in her crib, when an imp gently knocked on the door.

"I thought we were clear about not disturbing us when in here?" Lilith muttered annoyed as she tried to get Charlie to lie down. She had been changed into a soft pink footie pajama set, and despite rubbing her eyes tiredly, Charlie kept sitting up and making little grabby hands at her mother with a whine. "Daddy has been spoiling you. You need to sleep, baby."

Lucifer would never admit it, but for someone who claimed how important it was that Charlie slept by herself, Lilith had caught him more times than not, fast asleep in the rocker with Charlie.

"My apologies, Madam, but you have a call."

"A caller? Is it one of the Sins?" Lilith asked, giving Charlie a kiss on her head and tried to urge her to lie down before walking away.

She could easily do this, she had been told it was normal by one of Paimon's daughters that babies sometimes need to cry it out for nap time. Or was it a daughter in law? Regardless she would be strong and firm and-

Charlie immediately stood up in her crib and called after her mother, eyes wide and unhappy. She didn't want to be alone in her nursery. She didn't like being alone or having to sleep when it seemed like her parents were going to go off and do fun things. Not to mention, she liked falling asleep in a blanket made of Daddy's feathers and hearing his steady heart beat. Mommy's too.

Lilith had barely made it half way across the room before Charlie let out a wail, resisting the urge to turn around and go back.

'I'm stronger than this. I'm stronger than this. I'm stronger than this,' She kept thinking as she gave Charlie a reassuring smile over her shoulder before exiting the room and softly closing the door. "How the hell does Lucifer do this?"

She knew the answer of course. He didn't. He would have stayed and sung his songs for her, waiting for her to fall asleep before he would sneak out. And that was if he didn't fall asleep first.

"My lady?"

The imp looked between his mistress and the closed door where the Princess was clearly not agreeing to her mother's decision. Lilith took a deep breath as she steeled her resolve. She was going to teach Charlie that nap time meant she was suppose to sleep, by herself, in her room and not-

'Damn it,' Lilith thought as she calmly made her way down to the foray with a tuckered out Charlie resting her cheek against her shoulder. If Lucifer could see her now, he would have been laughing about how it wasn't as easy as it looked. Lilith had been ready to walk away from the door completely before Charlie let out an absolutely heart breaking wail that let anyone around her know she believed she had been abandoned completely. 'Just for today. Tomorrow she's sleeping on her own. It's just because Lucifer left that she's upset.'

Charlie yawned as she started to fall asleep, her little fingers tangled in the long locks of her mother's hair. She was still pouting a little, angry that her mother actually thought she could just leave. But knowing Charlie, she would be the same old happy baby she always was after a nap.

Carl Accipitri had once been a handsome man in his mortal life. Born of common blood, he used his looks and natural charisma to rise in the ranks of showbiz, using and abusing all the talents he could find. He had wanted to be on the stage himself, having dreamed of being an actor his whole childhood, but after his first and only show, Carl had discovered quickly it just wasn't in the cards for him. So he aimed for the next best thing. And he had been amazing at it too, finding the little hidden gems of London's backwaters and bringing them closer to the upper classes. It was just unfortunate that his greed and over indulgence had led to his demise and damn nation in the end.

Not that murdering his young lover had helped either.

Now as a Sinner in Hell, his handsome features had been stripped away from him, leaving his appearance a terrible pun for his past sins. His face had become avian like with a long crooked beak. Gone were his beautiful locks and instead a set of a messy gray feathers that made it look like his hairline was receding and his neck monstrously fat.

That or a thinning at the top mullet.

He had hated his appearance instantly when he woke up in Hell, having to hear all the 'balding' jokes and how he was apparently a vulture. Though it could have been worse. He had seen others like himself who were completely red in the head with skin growths covering them. But after a few years of self-loathing, Carl decided he would rise above it all and picked himself up. He started from the bottom of a theater and worked his way up until the day his golden goose appeared. He could remember the day he saw Lilith for the first time, shocked and enamored by her beauty. At the time he hadn't known she was the Queen of Hell or even the first woman as she wasn't mentioned in the bible he grew up with. She was unlike any being he had seen and he knew instantly if he landed her, he'd never have to do grunt work again.

It had been easy too. Just save her from an unfair contract and bam... he was in.

Well, not exactly, it took a few weeks to prove himself trustworthy and even than, her husband proved a far harder sell. By the time he and Lucifer had crossed paths, Carl had learned just who Lilith was and she instantly went onto his 'Do not screw' list, not that he had a chance. And while Lilith was willing to meet with Sinners and learn about their everyday life, the King of Hell was very clear that he held no love for them.

In fact, he seemed down right disappointed of them, like a parent that spent millions and millions of pounds on their kid's education only for said kid to become a street beggar.

Carl was pretty sure Lucifer hated him as well. The king had declared from the start that Carl was only allowed into the foray of their home and nowhere else. And when Lilith had started to show her pregnancy, Lucifer had been a nightmare to be around as he didn't want his wife exploited. It hadn't gotten better after the baby was born as Carl hadn't even been allowed to see the girl, Lucifer always acting as the blocker between them.

Not that Carl cared, he hated kids. They were a pain in the ass to work with.

"Carl? Well this is a surprise," Lilith's musical voice snapped him out of his muses as she entered. He quickly turned to greet her when he noticed her holding a finger up against her deep purple lips. "I must ask you speak in hushed tones, Carl. I'm trying to get Charlie to sleep."

Carl blinked as he had to turn his elongated head a little to properly see the child in his client's arms and he had to admit he was surprised. The baby was tiny in Lilith's hold, though that was hardly surprising as the woman stood an impressive 6 foot 6 in height and still had the damn audacity to wear heels. He was sure she only did it to make other's feel smaller.

"Lilith my muse. How are you? This is a first," Carl smiled as he tried to peer at the baby who sat up a little to look at him. "So this is the little princess huh?"

Lilith smiled as she turned Charlie a little to show her to Carl, the mother brimming with pride as she did. And boy did she had every right to be. Carl felt his eyes widen as Charlie looked at him with her tired red eyes and gave a tiny smile before tucking back into her mother's shoulder exhausted.

The kid had certainly gotten all her beauty from her parents. From the porcelain white skin and red cheeks of her father to the luxurious thick golden hair or her mother, Carl could tell in that instant that with the right support and guidance, Charlie could grow up and rival her mother in beauty and popularity. Even now, the kid was oozing cuteness and beauty, a little ray of light in the pits known as Hell.

"I can see why you talk about her so much, Lils," He smiled to the best of his ability with a beak. "She's a very beautiful girl. I'm kind of sad I only just got to meet her."

"Yes, well... you know Lucifer," Lilith gave him a look of warning. Carl had a habit of forgetting that while he was her manager regarding her music career, Lilith was first and foremost his Queen and above him. They were not on a nickname level. "He's very protective after all."

The message was clear. Carl felt himself stiffen in irritation. It always annoyed him that he couldn't control Lilith like he could the others, but he knew better than to try. Lilith wasn't afraid to show her power and while her husband seemed to bend to her will easily, there had to be a reason why Lucifer was the King of Hell.

"Now then, Carl. I highly doubt you're here just to catch a glimpse of my daughter," Lilith gestured for him to join her at a small seating area in the corner of the large room. "So why have you come when you know I'm taking a few days off."

"Oh, err, right," Carl stammered as he followed. He didn't do social calls after all, especially not with Lilith. "So, about that... I need you to come in. Today."

"No."

Carl felt his claws dig into his palms. He should have known she would be stubborn.

"Lilith, darling-" A second glare. He knew better than to call her that. "Apologies, but your majesty, please. It's vital."

"Carl, I told you three days ago I wouldn't be able to do anything work related as my daughter needs my care," Lilith glanced at Charlie's face for a moment and sighed in relief. Finally, she had fallen asleep. Shifting her a little, Lilith moved Charlie to lay more comfortably in her arms. "His majesty the King, is currently away."

It had been a laps of judgment on Lilith's part to tell Carl this. The man could smell opportunity when it knocked and now knowing the Lucifer wasn't here to interfere, an idea started to take root in his head.

Since the day Lilith had learned she was pregnant, Lucifer had been adamant that it was to be a private affair, going as far as to keep it from the other Sins until Lilith couldn't hide it anymore. Same had happened when the baby was born and while Lilith was fine with the idea of showing her daughter off, Lucifer had often gilded her into agreeing. He generally asked so little of her so he felt she could do him this one favor.

"Lilith please, they need you to promote this new line of clothing. The gowns are made for you," Carl pleaded, using her vanity to his advantage as he pulled out drawings of the designers line. The outfits would be considered ungodly on Earth at the time, but given a few more years of sexual liberation and the dresses would be seen as couture. "I mean, just look at this one, your husband would fall in love all over again if he saw you in it."

Lilith studied the drawing he showed her of a gown that appeared sheer and had silver and golden lines that ran like rays down the length of the body and smiled. It was absolutely sinful to look at, showing nearly everything and yet nothing. It was perfectly immodest and a wonderful proverbial 'fuck you' to her creator and his virtue of modesty. The others didn't fail to impress either, there was a golden sting dress as well, at least that was how Lilith could describe. It that somehow was tasteful and regal rather than pornographic.

Carl had been right. They were made for her.

'Not to mention Lucifer would love taking them off,' she mused. "They are very lovely, but-"

"And, this designer has some of the loveliest children's fashion as well. Very elegant."

"Carl," There was that warning tone again. "You know that Lucifer doesn't want Charlotte's portrait out there for everyone to gawk at. In fact, I doubt he even wanted you seeing her."

Carl groaned as he leaned back. He really wanted to make this happen. Hell was still a buzz with the news of the princess's birth but with the exceptions of a few witnesses assuring she was real, most of the Sinners of Pentagram City didn't fully believe the child existed. If he could get a picture of Lilith with her daughter, an actual legit and approved picture, he could make bank on it.

And who knows, maybe he could become the manager of the Princess's own career. She might have her mother's musical talents after all and if not, there was modeling.

"Lilith please, don't you think it's about time?" Carl groaned. "I mean I get it, your husband's a proud pr-dad and he wants to keep her safe but let's get real. You know he's being over protective. The little lady's the Princess of Hell for fuck sake. She's going to have to appear to her people at some point. Do you really want it to be when she's old enough for reporters to chat with her?"

Lilith frowned. She knew he was right of course, that unless Lucifer locked Charlie away forever, she would have to face the Sinners of Hell at some point. Not to mention it would free up some activities for them. So far, with the exception of St. An's, Charlie hadn't seen Hell much less what their realm of Pride had to offer. Her world was built up of the Manor only and the servants who scurried around and did their work. She only knew her parents and aunts and uncles, which wouldn't do if she was to rule Hell one day.

But she had promised Lucifer to respect this one wish.

"And look at this design," Carl interjected. "Wouldn't you both simply look regal in this?"

Glancing at the sketch, Lilith felt her resolve dissipate instantly. The grown wasn't as revealing at the others, but still elegant and suited for a Queen. Pitch black with golden specks decorating it like stars, it reminded her of the night she, Adam and Lucifer had spent together in Eden as the than Samael told they about how he had placed them in the sky with his siblings. It wasn't until much later that Lilith had learned Lucifer had made most of them.

It had been a happier time then, before Adam managed to mess everything up.

… before they all had had to pick sides in the conflict...

"And this has a matching gown for the princess?" Lilith asked, looking at the light sketches of a baby's gown that was equally beautiful. Carl nodded as he watched her expression. "How soon could the designer have it fitted and ready?"

"With the princess' measurements? A day," He wasn't going to tell her the dress didn't exist yet, but he was certain the designer would work herself to the bone if it meant the Princess's first public photo would feature her work. "Probably even less, if you wish it."

Lilith thought for a minute before handing the drawings back to Carl.

"I'll send you the measurements once Charlotte has finished her nap," Lilith answered as she got up and started to leave. "We'll be there tomorrow morning."

Carl grinned as he gathered the papers and rushed to the doors with a quick fare well. Lilith calmly made her way back to Charlie's nursery as she mused over her decision to go behind Lucifer's back about this.

She knew he would be upset when he found out. He really wasn't asking for a lot when it came to Charlie but at the same time Lilith felt it wasn't healthy for Charlie to be hidden away all the time. Sure, she didn't need to be in the limelight all the time, but it was important for her people to know who she was. And this would allow them to show Charlie more of what their kingdom had to offer.

She was sure she could get Lucifer to forgive her. He always did.

AN: A big dilemma that always happens when you have kids is that as parents you don't always agree on how things are done and sometimes, you can accidentally over step with each other. And we have to accept that there's a reason why Lilith and Lucifer drifted apart before the series started.

I need to state this very quickly. When it comes to fashion, as a woman I'm a utter failure in knowing anything about it. I'm generally a pants and t-shirt person, going for function and comfort over fashion. I can barely figure out how to wear makeup half the time and as a result don't really wear it. So Lilith's dresses are based on stuff I found via Google search.
