Rewriting: App Monsters: Drive Season 01 Episode 01
We see a green haired kid with an old pair of goggles on his head along with a red and yellow jacket helping to pick up some books that had fallen over stating "Here let me help."
The woman behind the counter responds to him stating "Oh thank you Haru, you're such a big help." as he'd sat the stack of books down onto the table.
"Can I get this one please?" The boy named Haru questions showing them a fantasy book that he'd like to get.
"Oh you've already made it to the last book in the series have you? Well they're a good protagonist for the story don't you think?" The woman questioned Haru looking at the book.
"Ya, I wish I could be a protagonist like them and go on adventures some day." Haru answered back as the secruity camera had turned to look at him as if it was focusing on the conversation.
They'd heard some sounds coming from outside and seen a guy with red hair in a soccer uniform scoring a goal while everyone was praising him. The guy had noticed Haru and given him the thumbs up when they'd heard a blonde girl letting out a giggle a bit and she'd turned noticing Haru stating "Oh hey Haru you're watching too huh?"
"Uh no I just got here Ai." Haru then answered back quickly before letting out a sigh thinking to himself 'I'm a side character in a family of protagonists.' as he'd done so.
"Hey look out!" Someone from the field called out as Haru turned seeing a soccer ball headed straight for his face and got smacked making his nose turn red from being hit.
"Haru, you alright?" The red headed guy questioned seeing that the ball had hit him in the face looking kinda worried about him.
"Ya, I'm fine Yujin." Haru then answered back about being okay picking up the soccer ball and throwing it back at the group so that they could keep playing.
"Hey you headed home? I'll join you." Yujin called going over to Haru ad the two bumped wrists before slapping their hands against each other and started to walk off.
"Those two are close huh? You wouldn't think it being that they're so different." One of the other students stated watching as they headed off.
"So, what were you thinking about earlier?" Yujin questions Haru as they were walking home and a camera moved to look at them reading off information on the two.
"I was just thinking I'm a Side Character from a family of Protagonists." He'd answered back about his earlier thoughts.
"Not the way I see it." Yujin answered back to Haru as he'd looked confused hearing that. "You definately got the Protagonist look down, especially while you're wearing those goggles."
"They're a family heirloom, though honestly I don't feel much like I deserve them my uncle Thomas tells me I'll grow into them someday." Haru then stated about the goggles he was wearing as they split since Yujin lived on a different street nearby.
Once Yujin was gone a car suddenly started honking at Haru making him turn confused seeing a vending machine that had a digital display showing up his name making him walk over to it. The machine's display then questions if he was a protagonist? This confused him even more and began looking around to see if he was being pranked or not but there wasn't anyone else around and the machine then showed a Yes or No display waiting for his answer.
Before he could click yes or not the display changed saying it's all up to him and to take the App Drive confusing Haru who questions "What's an App Drive?" as something dropped out of the vending machine surprising him. He'd reached in and taken out a blank device questioning "Is this a Digivice?"
We then cut to later as Haru was in his house looking at the device confused while on the phone stating "It's not like a Digivice I've seen before, the machine called it an App Drive."
"The name's not in any of our Databanks. From the photo you sent its not one we're aware of either." A man answered back over the phone about the device.
"Hey, maybe this time it's your turn to find your own buddy now." Another man's voice came over the phone about the device in question.
"For now hold onto it until we can do a little more research." The first man's voice spoke about the situation.
"And don't forget to practice your Digisoul while you're at it." The second man called out adding into the conversation again.
"Gotcha, I will. I'll let you get back to work thanks again." Haru answered back before then adding "Bye now." and hanging up. "Let's see. Digisoul." He'd then spoke squeezing his fist as a strange energy began to appear though only just barely that looked to be green and black in color.
Suddenly his phone began to beep and download something that began to shoot out with a strange creature appearing from it surprising Haru to see them in their room. They'd appeared to be see through and looked like he was watching them through one of those ancient televisions from a long time ago.
"A.. a digimon?" Haru questioned surprised and confused by what he'd seen standing on his desk now. "I've never seen a Digimon like you before."
"Digimon? I'm an Appmon. Your buddy Appmon Gatchmon. Here for the Protagonist Haru." The creature stated to them gesturing to himself. "We Appmon are digital lifeforms born of and based on these Apps. I'm a search App Appmon. Learn anything with a single search that's my power."
"So you're like a Subspecies of Digimon? Cool. Why are you fuzzy and see through?" Haru then questioned next confused about what he was seeing. "And this thing is like a Digivice for Appmon right, I can use it to help you grow stronger and stuff?"
"You're catching on quick Haru." Gatchmon answered back. "The App Drivers can only be used by those specially chosen. With it you can bring Appmon from the net to the real world. You can use it to make me appear in your world." He'd then added before shrinking down to fit on the tiny chip sitting on Haru's desk. "I guess I overdid it."
They'd heard a woman screaming and ran to see what was going on seeing Haru's mother a woman with pink hair stating "My private blog post suddenly appeared on instant messenger!"
"Searching." Gotchmon spoke scanning to see what was going on "Messmon, the messenger Appmon is acting up. We can take them."
"What the heck was that?" Haru questioned the weird thing that they'd seen coming from his mom's tablet.
"App Drivers like you can see Appmon. I bet Messmon was infected by some kind of Virus. I bet that creep Leviathan got a hold of him." Gotchmon answered back about what's happening.
"Leviathan?" He'd questioned back hearing that and then heard his phone ringing and saw that it was Yujin calling him. "Hello?" He'd questioned after hitting the answer button. "What!?"
We then cut to them looking at stuff on a big screen as it showed embarrasing things about Haru before them moving on to make fun of that Ai girl's bangs. They see Messmon jumping from phone to phone sharing private information and then flying off while laughing as Haru squeezed the Appli Drive angry.
"I can't sit here and do nothing. Let's go Gatchmon." Haru spoke wanting to help and ran off with the Appmon chasing after Messmon who'd vanished into some purple cubes making a rough shape like that of a line.
"It's an AR Field. Hold up the App Drive to it." Gatchmon told him and Haru did just that, which then caused everything around them to change into a new place that was rather strange to see. "This is the AR Field. It exists halfway between the human world and the net of the Digital World."
Messmon appeared and was a lot bigger now and began to blast at Gatchmon with their words stating "They can't handle it. It's all over for you now." making the Appmon's chip crash onto the ground.
"Yes, he can. I know Haru is the one, when I searched for my ideal Buddy he was the only result." Gatchmon spoke while struggling to stand up. "I know Haru can do it, he's the true protagonist, and my Buddy!" They'd yelled at Messmon. This made Haru remember earlier when one of the voices on the phone stated that maybe this time it's his turn to find his own buddy now.
A message display appeared on Haru's App Drive questioning if he was a protagonist just like how the vending machine had done so earlier and had a yes or no answer appearing in front of him. "Am I.. a Protagonist?" He'd questioned reading the message as Messmon looked at them. He'd then squeezed the App Drive and glared up at the Appmon causing trouble. I'm Not a Protagonist. I'm THE PROTAGONIST and I've had enough of you. Gatchmon let's GOOO!" He'd then called out clicking the yes button.
When he'd pressed it the device lit up with the sliding wheel unlocking showing a magnafying glass as their icon and the wheell turned red with the rest lighting up green and the words pairing Gatchmon appeared unleashing an energy pulse in the shape of the wheel that scanned Haru's body and then stopped at the wrist he was holding his App Drive with shrinking down into a watchlike device on his wrist now.
"Now, put me inside the Driver." Gatchmon spoke as his chip had flown over to Haru waiting for him to finally take charge.
"Right!" He'd called sliding on the wheel and grabbing Gatchmon's chip adding "Appmon Chip Ready!" as he'd put them into the center of the top part where the wheel was. "Realize!"
An energy began to shoot out from the device once he slid the wheel back up and Gatchmon appeared now solid and able to fight back. When Messmon tried to attack he was able to break through the blasts with ease. "Haru, activate search." Gatchmon called to his buddy and a display appeared.
"Right!" Haru spoke hitting the buttons on the display to search up weaknesses for Messmon and that sent the data directly to Gatchmon for what to search.
"Got it. Deep Search!" Gatchmon called sending out an energy pule in the shape of his claw through the net following along glowing line paths to find what they were looking for. "Gatcha!" He'd then called pulling out a multi colored orb that cracked in his claw as he absorbed the date. "Mark read and ignore?"
"That's right Gatchmon, just mark the messages as read and ignore them. They can't hurt you if you don't know what they said!" Haru called out about how to handle the situation.
"Got it!" His Buddy Appmon called out ignoring the attacks being spewed at them before then charging forwards with his claw glowing calling out "Gotch Claw!" and sliced through Messmon making all three of their faces spew out data chunks that formed rings around them and counted down from three to one and then exploded.
"Wow I feel a lot better." Messmon called out and then shot forwards into Haru's App Drive taking the form of a chip like what Gatchmon was on earlier and dropped out of it into Haru's hand.
"Looks like he's not one of the chips we're looking for. That's okay. Just stick him in your Appmon Band for now." Gatchmon then stated to them and Haru put the chip into the watch like device figuring that's what he was referring to.
The AR Field vanished leaving Haru standing back in the real world and he'd found Gatchmon with him. "C'mon, I can't wait to introduce you to my family." Haru stated running alongside his Buddy Appmon heading towards what looked like a nice house that was bigger than the others around.
