Morning, This is a rewrite of one of my older stories, formally called, Blinded By Love, I have deleted that story and re wrote a lot of it, because, I can. So here ya go.

Chapter 1

I was twelve when my grandfather sat me down, and talked to me about life, and what it may bring in the future. I didn't understand it all too much at the time, nor did I really pay attention, I was too busy focusing on my friends, and training to be the world's greatest fry cook.

Before he died told me to be careful with who I surround myself with, be careful around the girls, or boys, which ever I felt I was into when the time came. He taught me to trust my gut, to go with my instinct, to think with my head and not my heart.

Well, that's easy for him to say, when my heart did most of the thinking for me, and I had grown used to it, it is what got me to where I am in life now, its what kept me working at the Krusty Krab. At that time, I was young and didn't care about the girls, or building any romantic relationship, not that understood anything about it in the first place, even up until now, when I am in my mid-twenties, love is confusing, why did it have to hurt so bad?

On more than one occasion, I would hear the men, such as my father, and Mr. Krabs on occasion, tell me that Love can make you feel and think things you normally wouldn't, that it could make you blind to the things around you.

The person you think you'd want to spend the rest of your life with turns out to be a lie, leading you to stand at an empty alter, waiting for a future that would never start. While love is a wonderful thing, and can bring one happiness, it can be just as hurtful.

It is often hard to see the truth behind the foggy mirrors, when all you can think about is that one person, and how much you want to be with them, you ignore what is most important to you, the things your once good friends say begin sound like attacks to destroy your happiness, and make you think that they're out to hurt you.

You begin to push them away, the people you trusted and cared for you the most, so that you can pursue the love you discovered. While Love is magical, and has the power to do good, it is also powerful enough to destroy. By that time, it is already too late.

I'd never thought that I could find someone who gets me as much as she did. She was the sweetest, and the prettiest girl I had ever met, and she was all mine. No one in all the years that I lived on my own had made me feel the way she did.

Here I was, staring out a window as the love of my life changed sides, entering a place I never thought she would enter.

"I told Ye she was no good! And Ye didn't listen!" Mr. Krabs Shouted at me, but his words were muffled, this couldn't be it, it couldn't be, it had to be a dream, he wouldn't think of it any other way.

AT THE CHUM BUCKET.

The doors swung open as the woman, a young sponge walked into the restaurant, clutching onto her purse, while Plankton ran out to the lobby to greet her.

"Did you get it! Did you get it!?" Plankton asked as he jumped up and down with excitement, barely able to contain himself, the sponge smiled, "Oh I got it sir." she grinned as she began to reach into her purse where she retrieved a white envelope.

"Is that really it?" Plankton asked shocked that his plan had worked, "Oh, this is it, I wrote down every word last night." she said as she began to hand him the envelope when the doors burst open.

"Spongebob!" both Plankton and the woman gasped, "Step away from that envelope!" Spongebob shouted at Plankton before his eyes matched with his girlfriend.

Two Weeks Earlier

For a Sunday, the morning had begun to turn out great, despite today being a chore day, which also happened to be one of his favorite days of the week. Spongebob had just left his pineapple to run some errands; to pick up a suit from the dry cleaners for a party that was supposed to take place in a week or so.

Along the sidewalk that ran through the city Spongebob began to think of what to wear to the party, and what he should bring, and if he should ask Squidward if he wanted to go, or Sandy, or even Patrick, it was a hard decision to make, which he had time to think about while he picked a few things up.

As he walked the sidewalks he'd greet the civilians or help them cross a street or two. Spongebob had begun to make his way through the center of downtown when he heard the slightest sound of distress.

Like a moth drawn to a flame, he'd followed the sound to the source. However, when he found the source of the distress, he froze in his spot. It was a woman, but not just any woman, to him, she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen.

Her pale orange skin, and short red hair, he'd never seen another sponge so beautiful. It was as if the world around him disappeared and it was only the two of them, in a dark room, there she was, standing in a ray of sunlight that had to be sent from the heavens, she looked like an angel, it had to be a sign from Neptune, his heart stopped in his chest, was he nervous? It was almost like he had stage fright again, but why? It was just one lady, a very beautiful one at that.

A hard shove to the chest is what broke him out of concentration, he's just been standing in the middle of the sidewalk and was bumped into by a rude fish who yelled at him, but he didn't pay attention, he had more important things on his mind, like getting to know who this mysterious lady was.

"Hello miss, can I help you with something?" he asked the lady who was knelt on the floor looking under a bench. The lady quickly turned her head look at Spongebob, like she was in slow motion, she was even more beautiful up close.

Her eyes were a little red and puffy, she had been crying by the looks of it, normally he would cry with her, but the way she looked, even with her tear covered face, she looked beautiful, and he knew that he had to get to know her.

"Yes Please, I can't find my little snail, she was just here!" she said as she wiped her tears. Spongebob shook his head straight, he couldn't focus on how beautiful this stranger was, he needed to focus on helping her.

"Oh, you lost your snail?" he asked, the lady nodded, "Shes just a little thing, I turned to get something out of my purse, and when I turned back, she was gone!" she explained wiping new tears from her beautiful eyes, that held at least a million diamonds.

Already, he felt himself falling hard for this lady, and he didn't even know her name, for all he knew, she could have a boyfriend, or not be into men, she might not even be into him, despite all of that, he couldn't just leave without helping, or getting her name, if they couldn't be together they could at least be friends, right?

"Oh, I see, maybe I can help you, what's her name?" Spongebob asked, "Cherry, she has a little white shell with little green foot and yellow and red markings on her shell." she described while holding out a little picture of a baby snail.

"No worries, I am here to help. I don't mean to brag, but I happen to be a great snail whisper." Spongebob chuckled before he began to look around, thinking about where a little snail would hide.

After what felt like an hour of searching, the two were hit with relief when Spongebob located the tiny snail who had found her way down an alley where she found a feast of a dumpster. Spongebob laughed as he picked the snail from the trash, she had been munching on a soggy croissant.

"She must have smelt the fresh bread, and followed the scent back here, silly little lady, you're not supposed to eat out of the trash." Spongebob said as he took the wet croissant from her mouth and threw it in the trash.

"Mew." "I know, but wouldn't you rather have a fresh one?" Spongebob cooed before he looked at the lady who had been smiling, "Here." Spongebob said as he handed the snail to the stranger, the girl smiled down at her snail before looking at Spongebob.

"Thank you, uh-" "Spongebob." Spongebob introduced himself, bowing his head with respect, "Libby. Thank you, Spongebob, I don't know how to thank you." she shook her head, "How about, you join me for lunch? We could go into this bakery, I can buy Cherry here a croissant, since we know she likes them, they make the best pastries in town." Spongebob suggested.

….

"So you're just passing through?" Spongebob asked, Libby nodded sipping on a fruit drink, "Its for a temporary job assignment, I planned to meet with the boss later today, I was actually on my way to see them when Lil Cherry here decided to run off on me." Libby placed her hands on her hips while she glared at her little pet who munched away on a warm croissant.

"Where do you think you'll go after the assignment is over, will you be staying? If not, how long? You know, this place isn't much but its home, I think you'll like it here." Spongebob said, almost trying to convince Libby to stay.

"I don't know, I'll think about it, you make it sound wonderful, I just wish I had someone to show me around, ya know?" She shrugged while she stirred her drink with her straw, before she let her eyes meet his. Spongebob had began to blush, his face turning a deep scarlet color, and all she did was look at him.

"Well, I've lived here for quite some time, maybe I can show you around, whenever you have time." he suggested, Libby smiled, "I would like that, you said you had a snail, maybe we can take them with us." Libby said, "Gary would love that." Spongebob responded as he shot a sweet smile at her.

"Oh shoot, look at the time, I should really get going." Libby said as her watch began to beep, "I don't want to be late on the first day, ya know?" she smiled as she reached for her purse to pay, but was stopped when Spongebob laid his own cash onto the table.

"No need, I've got it." He insisted, Libby shook her head, immediately refusing for him to pay, "No, I wont accept it Spongebob, You helped me find my precious snail, I have to get this." she said as she pushed his money back towards him.

"I told you, Libby." he began push the money back, "It was my pleasure." he grinned at her, Libby blushed at his smile, "At least let me pay for your half." she continued to assist, Spongebob however was more stubborn than she knew.

"I cant let you do that, my grandfather raised me old fashioned, and would consider me rude to not pay for a pretty lady's meal." Spongebob hummed, Libby puffed out her cheeks to pout, "Ok." she said before the two laughed.

Flash forward a few steps outside the bakery.

Spongebob sighed to himself as he watched Libby walk away, waving goodbye until they couldn't see each other amongst the crowd no more. Spongebob kicked the ground beneath him, thinking about how wonderful this day had been.

And it had only just started, Libby. He barely even knew her and she was enough to take his breath away, is this what 'love' feels like? Sure, he loved his best friend, and he loved his job, but this feeling of love, was something entirely different.

His heart began to race even more, and she wasn't even here, he hadn't even felt this way about the Krabby Patty that he dated, this was real, Libby was real, he could still hear her voice.

"I have to see her again." Spongebob spoke out loud to himself, before he gasped when he realized that he didn't get her number. Sadness quickly washed over him, she was gone, for all he knew, he might not ever see her again!

His heart broke at the thought, he had found the love of his life and he had let her go.

….

Spongebob stood behind the grill, watching the patties cook, his mind was in a million places that all lead back to her.

"What's the matter with him?" Mr. Krabs asked Squidward as they watched Spongebob clean a few tables, he was normally a lot more excited about cleaning the tables, but today, he was different, he walked around the building as if no one else was there, ignoring a few regulars that greeted him.

"You don't recognize it?" Squidward questioned his boss, "Recognize what?" Mr. Krabs asked, "He thinks he's in love." Squidward mocked, "In love?" Mr. Krabs asked, "yeah, he came to my house yesterday, talking about how he found some girl and how he wanted to marry her, and all that junk." Squidward rolled his eyes.

"A girl? You mean, an actual real girl? And not some girl he made up in a mad kitchen, right?" Mr. Krabs asked, "You would think you'd seen her by now, he says that she was gorgeous, that she was an angel sent from Neptune, I think you would recognize someone like that if you seen them. I've never seen her, so I think its safe to say that he was using his imagination."

"An angel huh, well lets ask him." Mr. Krabs said before he called Spongebob over.

"yes sir?" Spongebob asked, "What's this I hear about you finding a new girlfriend?" Mr. Krabs smirked, Spongebob blushed looking at Squidward. "You told him about her?" Spongebob whispered, "Its not like you kept it a secret, square fer brain." Squidward remarked.

"Well, who is she? Why haven't you introduced her to yer old man Krabs?" Mr. Krabs asked, Spongebob began to blush, "We aren't dating, and besides even if I wanted to introduce you to her, I couldn't, I lost her." Spongebob said as he slumped his shoulders.

"You lost her? Or dose she Not exist?" Squidward teased, Spongebob sighed as he began to think about her, "I know how it sounds, but I'm telling you." Spongebob shook his head, he didn't need to convince them that she was real, when he knew the truth.

"If she's real, than what is her name?" Mr. Krabs asked, "Libby." Spongebob answered with a sigh of relief, "We shared brunch at the bakery the other day, after I helped her find her snail, I forgot to ask for her number." Spongebob said as he slumped in his spot.

"Libby, huh, and can ye tell Ol man Krabs what this angel of yers looked like?" he began to ask in a teasing manner, but Spongebob failed to pick up on any of it, and thought they were actually interested, "I've talked about her so much already, but I cant help it, She as BEAUTIFUL, her skin, her eyes were so magetic and her hair looked so soft, and her lips, I almost wanted to kiss her! Than she spoke, and her voice..." Spongebob swoons.

"It was like I was talking to a mermaid from heaven, it was so soft and warm, like honey, and she was so Kind, and sweet, and.. She was just.. Amazing." Spongebob said as his eyes turned into hearts, and he contiuned, unable to stop talking about every detail he could.

"Man, he's got it bad." Mr. Krabs whispered to Squidward. Spongebob let out another sigh, "the moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she was the one, there is no doubt about it, it was like, Neptune himself was giving me a sign! The way the sun shined down on her, and the way she lit up.." Spongebob held his hands to his face, he couldn't stop blushing.

"Looks like he's lost it." Squidward whispered to Mr. Krabs as Spongebob babbled on, forgetting that they were even there when, in like every other cheesy story, the front doors opened, and a stranger walked in.

Mr. Krabs and Squidward's jaw dropped at the new stranger, who they yet to find out was Libby. Mr. Krabs and Squidward both fought behind the register to take her order, while Spongebob remained distracted by his babbles, not even realizing the woman he had fallen in love with was standing behind him.

"Can I take your order Miss?" Squidward asked as he leaned against the register, Libby flashed a fake awkward smile. "No sir, I actually came to see him." Libby said as she pointed to Spongebob who still hadn't noticed she was there.

"..I swear if I ever find her again, I will ask her out on a date. And if she says yes, I will make sure she is the happiest woman in the world." Spongebob said as he danced in his spot before he felt a tap on his shoulder which brought him out of his trance.

He looked towards Squidward first, expecting him to give an order, but instead he found Squidward leaning back with his arms crossed over his chest, annoyed at something, Spongebob followed his gaze to find what he least expected.

Spongebob immediately jumped, how long had she been standing there? When did she get here? Did she hear everything he just said? Oh man, this is embarrassing, his face turned a deep shade of red, a million questions went through his head, and he was speechless.

Spongebob began to tremble with nervousness, like he'd never seen before, what was wrong with him? He was just talking about how he wanted to see her again, about how he had lost her and thought he would never see her again, yet here she was, waiting for him to speak.

He tried to speak by saying hello, but when he opened his mouth, nothing came out.

"Spongebob?" Libby called his name, but he was still unresponsive until Squidward slapped him on the back, breaking him out of whatever panic he was in, Spongebob cleared his throat, trying to play it cool, "Oh, Hey Libby, It's so great to see you again." Spongebob spoke.

"Like wise, I had to see you again, I planned to message you that night but, I realized I didn't have your number." She blushed herself, "Lucky for me, I remembered you had mentioned where you worked, and well, here I am." she explained, "You were looking for me?" Spongebob blushed.

"You must think I'm crazy, huh? I mean, we only hung out that one time, when we didn't exchange contact info, I probably should have taken that as a hint that you weren't interested, huh?" She began to sadden her voice, which hurt his heart.

"Are you kidding? Of course, I'm interested in you!" he blurted out, not realizing his mistake until he covered his mouth, "..as a friend, I mean." he chuckled a little, trying to save himself, Libby smiled at him, he was such a weird guy.

"Look, uh, Libby, the truth is that I like you, a lot ya know?" Spongebob began to admit, unable to keep his feelings back, feeling that if he kept them back he would explode, "As a friend, or a... girlfriend?" Libby asked while taking a step closer to him, to where they were a foot apart.

"I, uh... wh, what do you want me to be?" he asked, Libby shrugged as she reached down to his hand, "I'd like you to be my date." she said as she locked her eyes with his, he couldn't believe what he was hearing, did she say, date?

"I, I don't know what to say." He stuttered, the entire restaurant around them had stopped to listen, watching closely, waiting for his answer, his heart was beating so fast, this had to be a dream, he couldn't speak, Neptune, please help me.

The entire restaurant gasped as they watched this strange girl lean up and gently place her lips on his, before he could act she had pulled back, he had broken from his frozen state, "Say yes?" she asked, Spongebob smiled, nodding his head, "Of course, I would love to be your date."

With his answer, the crowded room began to cheer for them, "Great, so uh, when should we see each other again?" she asked him, Spongebob smiled, "How about tomorrow night? Say, six o'clock?" he asked, Libby nodded, "Six O'clock." she confirmed as she reached for her phone before handing it to him so that they could finally exchange numbers.

"I'll text you my address this evening." she said before she kissed him on the cheek before leaving the restaurant.
