Author's Note from Mat49324: Wouldn't you know it? I found another inspiration for another Totally Spies one-shot – my 35th! Last time, it was just jumps in the spies' beach house pool for a bit of a "laid back" feeling. Well, if you remember when Nick and I collaborated on Christmas in July using a Hallmark Channel commercial jingle, let's just say from listening to a song on YouTube, I got this inspiration that was too good to pass up, and that's where I'll leave it. Anyway, for now, here's The Blue Time Ranger if he's got something he'd like to say.
Author's Note from The Blue Time Ranger: Welp, it's been a while since we've done a oneshot, hasn't it? We figured it's time to rectify that with something that's probably more Mat's area of expertise, but I will try my best to deliver stuff for it. Quick reminder that most of our one-shots (usually the ones posted by Mat) are in a separate continuity from what's established in Totally Spies: The New Adventures. Either way, let's yank the curtain aside and ROLL IT!

11:22 A.M. – The Spies' Penthouse
Sam had just finished a snack in the den of the spies' penthouse; nearby, Mat was getting a taste of back home in Hawaii via some local soundtracks. Mat looked behind to see Sam herself.
"You could hear this?" Mat wondered.
"A bit," Sam chuckled. "Is that a local soundtrack of yours?"
"Not sure," Mat replied. "But this makes me feel like I'm back home in a way."
Sam looked at Mat's laptop to see that band was known as 311, and their official music video was playing.

"It's a pretty romantic song with an appropriate setting," Sam told Mat after seeing the music video took place on a beach.
"Yes indeed," Mat stated. "But you have to admit that wouldn't be a bad idea for filming a spoof or remix... if you know what I mean?"
"Of course," Sam giggled.
They had a good time seeing the official music video in full, which was almost three minutes long.
"It definitely makes you feel like it's from Hawaii," Sam quipped. "I like it."
"Well, I'm looking up this band, and they're not from Hawaii," Mat stated after opening another tab on his web browser. "But they found a way to make me feel like I'm at home."
"I can see why," Sam giggled as the two shared a cute moment.
"Hey, you wanna give it a try?" Mat asked.
"You mean...?" Sam wondered.
Mat nodded to her; Sam just chuckled at the offer.
"Oh, I don't know..." Sam replied, playing a little hard to get.
"Hey, if you don't want to do it, it's okay," Mat told his girlfriend.
"Well, it looks like it could be fun," Sam admitted.
"My point exactly," Mat replied.
"What's going on?" Britney asked, having overheard the conversation going on.
Sam and Mat then told Britney in full what had just gone on.
"Ooh, that sounds like fun," Britney chuckled.
Everybody else came in just after Britney finished sharing her viewpoints.
"What's going on in here?" Alex wondered.
"Is there any gossip going around that we're the last to hear of?" Nick asked.
"Well, have a look for yourself," Mat replied as he re-opened his laptop to show the video he'd just been watching.
"It's not Hawaii, but it captures the feeling of Hawaii," Nick chuckled. "Why did I instantly figure that'd be right up your alley, Mat?"
"You know me so well, bro," Mat quipped. "Well, my crazy idea of the day is... I kinda wanted to see if you were all interested in recreating that video on the beach here."
"Ooh, that sounds like fun," Alex giggled. "You can count me in."
"Why the heck not?" Britney stated. "I've got nothing better to do today."
"I was wondering something, though," Clover noted. "If we're gonna include all three of our couples in this, who's gonna handle the 'filming'?"
"Did somebody mention filming?"
"Ah, perfect timing, Nozomi," Nick chuckled as Nozomi made her way into the penthouse.
"I've been told I'm pretty good with that," Nozomi teased. "Now, then, what's this about filming something?"
"Basically, Mat wanted to recreate this music video he really liked with the couples in our group," Britney explained. "And since I wanted to be part of it, too, we were wondering who was gonna 'film' the whole shebang."
"I might be able to help you with that," Nozomi quipped. "I do have some experience with making movies, after all."
"Ah, the ol' film class project," Nick responded. "I still remember that madness like it was last week."
"You can mostly blame Makoto for that one," Nozomi teased. "Hikari was the one trying to keep everybody focused and on topic."
Nozomi turned on her heel. "I just gotta go get my video camera and I'll do the filming," Nozomi stated. "Be right back!"
It didn't take Nozomi too long to return with her video camera, and so, the seven spies all headed to the beach and prepared themselves, with Mat giving tips on how to perform like the artist had in the video.
"Whenever you're ready to start filming, Nozomi," Mat quipped.
"All right-y, then," Nozomi proclaimed. "Lights... camera... action!"
Sam, Clover, Alex, and Britney all went with two-pieces for this video while Nick, Mat, and Blaine were all in board shorts. Nozomi already had a two-piece on herself, too, just to look the part.
Nozomi got a good shot of Alex running into the ocean by her lonesome first.
The second shot was of Sam, Clover, and Britney walking to the Mali-U Beach like they were having a funny conversation of Mandy slipping up somewhere.
Shot number three was all three of the couples kicking water at each other playfully in leg-deep water.
For the next several shots, Nozomi got them all having their own desired beach fun.
Nozomi then got a shot of Britney under the showers that were near the Mali-U Beach.
Right after that were Nick and Alex, and Mat and Sam having a romantic moment together, specifically Nick and Mat spinning their girls in the air in twirls of love.
Clover even went out to catch a wave on her surfboard next, which was Nozomi's next shot.
Right after that was all three couples running into the ocean hand-in-hand (with the exception of Britney), which turned into Sam, Clover, and Alex grabbing their boyfriends in hugs while completely soaked.
The next shot was all four girls posing as calendar models.
After some more beach fun (and the occasional "coffee break"), they concluded filming with watching the sun set and all three couples sharing a kiss.
"And CUT!" Nozomi announced like a film director. "I've always wanted to say that..." she added with a giggle.
"Wow, did we do a lot," Mat sighed.
"Mat, it was your idea after all," Clover chuckled.
"Not going to deny it, but don't tell me that wasn't fun," Mat playfully retorted.
"I admit it was something new for me," Blaine laughed and held Clover by her shoulders.
"I sadly wasn't in Nozomi's film class back then, but it's definitely a fun time," Nick quipped. "Better than being stuck in one of Lumiere's movies."
"I know that felt really great," Alex giggled as she held Nick.
"I kinda felt like that was a dream honestly," Sam chuckled as she held Mat.
"Leave it to me for the easy part," Nozomi quipped as she left to do her edits.
Almost as soon as Nozomi had left, Britney had discreetly splashed Alex.
"H-Hey!" Alex sputtered.
"The night's still young, Alex!" Britney laughed.
"Welp, can't argue with that logic," Nick chuckled.
And so, yet another glorious water battle ensued.
The spies enjoyed the rest of their night until around nine o'clock, when they all got a message from Nozomi. It was short and sweet, right to the point.

Mat rushed to his laptop and flipped it open, navigating to the Youtube channel that Nozomi had pointed them to in order to see the results of their 'project'.
"Okay, wow, that's actually pretty amazing," Alex admitted as they all watched the video. "It's almost exactly like the original!"
"What'd I tell ya?" Nick chuckled. "Nozomi knows her way around a video camera thanks to Hikari and Makoto."
"Were they old friends?" Clover wondered.
"They were students in Nozomi's film class back in Japan," Nick explained. "Nozomi must have picked up some of their skills from being in the same class."
"Well, she really showed us that skill with this," Blaine quipped. "This looks like it's on par with professionals!"
"So, honey, was that fun or what?" Mat chuckled.
"Oh, definitely," Sam giggled as she leaned over to kiss Mat on the cheek.
"Yeah, I'd love to do that again sometime," Alex chuckled as she also kissed her boyfriend on the cheek. "...and now I really wanna go visit Hawaii."
"I'm sure we'll get to do that at some point," Britney stated. "After all, considering our spy jobs, it's bound to happen."
And nobody could argue with that.

Final Author's Notes from Mat49324: Well, that's it for my 35th one-shot. Let's just say that this was too good to pass up with a certain music video.
