After a long day at work, House was feeling good. He solved his case, he wasn't in much pain and, he was looking forward to seeing his girlfriend.
He grabbed the key from under the mat and unlocked the door before placing the key back. It was late; 10:30pm, so he expected Cuddy to be in bed already but when he wondered into the bedroom, she wasn't there. Assuming she was in the bathroom, he changed into his pajamas but after 5 minutes she still hasn't returned. He was getting worried so he knocked on the bathroom door; no answer. He tried to open it and found the door was unlocked. As he entered, he saw Cuddy was leaning on her knees with her head resting against the toilet seat. House rushed over to her.
"Are you okay?" He asked, voice full of concern.
"I've been throwing up for the past hour." She says quietly, her voice was scratchy; rough. She wipes her mouth.
"Oh honey, I'm so sorry. What did you eat today?" He said as his diagnostician side kicked in.
"Not much. Half a banana in the morning and a Caesar salad for lunch. My stomach was feeling upset all day."
House caressed her hair, brushing it out of her face. "Why didn't you tell me you weren't feeling good?" His voice was soft.
"I thought it would go away, I didn't want to get you worried for nothing." She says before she puts her face back in the toilet and throws up again. House hold her hair back, and rubs her back in circles.
"You're okay. You're okay." Trying to calm her down, he presses a gentle kiss to her hair.
Cuddy pulls away from the toilet, taking a deep breath.
"Did you take anti-nausea pills yet?"
"No, I haven't been able to move."
House slowly gets up off the floor and grabs the pills from the cabinet. He goes to the kitchen and gets her a bottle of water and a banana, she needed to eat something.
House sits back down on the floor with her.
"Can you lift your head for me, please?" He softly asks.
Cuddy lifts her head and opens her mouth, House places the tablet on her tongue and gives her a sip of water.
"Do you want to stay here or come to bed?" He asks whilst brushed the hair out of her face
"Bed. Please.
House stands up and offers her his hand.
Cuddy stands up, feeling dizzy and uneasy on her feet. House tries his best to support her the short distance to her bed from the bathroom. Once they get to the bed, they sit down to rest.
"I brought you a banana, can you try to eat some please?" Gently pushing her to put something in her stomach so she doesn't keep throwing up acid.
"I'll try." She whispers.
House gets up and grabs the trash can by the door and puts it next to her on her side of the bed. Cuddy ate half the banana before throwing it in the trash.
"Come lay down." He says softly as he gets under the covers.
She lies her body down next to his, resting her head on his chest. House wraps his arm around her shoulders and caresses her arm softly.
"Are the meds kicking in yet?"
"Yeah, I think so. Thank you House"
"Of course." He says before kissing the top of her head.
They were comfortably silent for a little until he felt Cuddy squirming a little.
"You okay?"
"I cant get comfortable."
"Can I do anything to help?"
Cuddy loved how caring House could be. He was so different around her, comparing to how he was at the hospital. Much more compassionate.
"Could you take off your shirt? I think I just need skin to skin contact."
"Sure thing." He says as he sits up a little to take his shirt off.
He lays back down and Cuddy sighs at the feeling of her cheek against his bare skin. She was feeling much more relaxed. House felt better knowing she was comfortable.
House tilted her chin up to look at him and he kissed her gently on the mouth.
"God, I probably taste bad."
"A little, nothing I can't handle though." He said before smiling and kissing her again.
Cuddy moaned softly into his mouth, which he returned with his own moan. She was now laying on her side with her hands in House's hair so she could kiss him better. House's hands were traveling all around her body, caressing her stomach and her sides and chest before he put a hand on her face. She was warm, too warm for it just to be from the adrenaline of making out. House pulled away and Cuddy whined softly at loss of contact. He places a hand on her forehead.
"You're warm." He stated.
"I'm always warm with you." She said sensually.
"No, honey. you have a fever. I'm gonna get the thermometer." House said concerningly before getting out of bed.
When we came back, he took her temperature; 99.7.
"Not too high, but still a fever. Let's try to get some sleep, okay?"
Cuddy sighed, "Okay."
House laid his body back down, and Cuddy cuddled next to his chest once again. At this point, he didn't care about getting whatever she had. He just wanted her to be safe. He pressed kiss to her forehead.
"If you need anything while I'm asleep, please wake me up."
"Okay."
With that, Cuddy fell asleep. House's arm was protectively wrapped around her waist with the other hand on her head; caressing and petting her hair. House fell asleep soon after.
