Slaying the Dragon
Before Zordon could answer, a soldier brought in Bulk, Skull, and Detective Mamiya, all of them in handcuffs. "We found these fools snooping up top". "Is that Bulk and Skull?", whispered the Yellow Ranger. "How did you two find this place?", asked Melanie. "We followed the pattern", said Bulk, shaking nervously as the soldier aimed his gun, "I figured out where the Zords were parked just last Friday". "Using children in your crusade, Mamiya?", asked Melanie as she pulled out her pistol, "You've done it this time". She pulled his gas mask off, only to find the face of a soldier with duct tape over his mouth. The soldier behind him aimed his gun at Melanie. "When did you get so good at disguises?", she asked. "I had time to perfect my craft", said Detective Mamiya as he pulled away his gas mask and helmet, "As for using children, you should be questioning the head in a jar". "The Power Coins chose who uses them", said Alpha 5 angrily, "We had nothing to do with that". "I personally tried to talk them out of it, but extenuating circumstances prevented me from interfering", said Zordon, "I take no pleasure in sending them out to fight Rita's forces, but they are the only ones who stand a chance". "Still", said Detective Mamiya, "Apex attacked you without the full details of the situation. Can you really trust them not to turn on you"? "I don't know, but if your partners could figure out parts of their identities, who's to say someone more hostile won't do it?", said Zordon.
"So we have a deal then?", asked Melanie. "I'm not sure", said Zordon, "But I am certain of one thing. Greater forces of evil than Rita are out there. It is only fair to build up the forces of good while there's still time. As such, I will give you everything you need to know about the Morphing Grid". "Pleasure doing business with you", said Melanie, "All forces, withdraw. There's no fight here". The soldiers lowered their guns and walked out, Leaving Melanie, Carter, Bulk, Skull, Detective Mamiya, and the Power Rangers. "You guys can turn back, now", said Bulk as he and Skull undid their handcuffs, "We already figured out where this place is". "Come on, Melvin, I know you're the Red Ranger", said Skull. Jason turned back with a deadpan look on his face. "I told you so", said Bulk, "Pay up". Detective Mamiya sighed before shaking hands with Jason. "I'm Detective Mamiya, of Interpol", he said. "Jason Scott", said Jason, "You still working with Spider-Man?" "He told me to send you his regards".
"I hope you guys aren't planning on using this against us", said Trini as she cracked her knuckles. "We would never", said Bulk, "In fact, now that we know your secrets, we'd like to be Power Rangers too". "Zordon?", asked Billy. "The thought never even occurred to me", said Zordon, "Though I have feeling we'll need to set up shop elsewhere." "Would that even work?", asked Carter, "There's no telling who else could find any hiding places you go". "That's without getting into the alien menaces who probably already know where to look", said Detective Mamiya. "You both have a point", said Zordon, "But I will not put any innocent lives at risk in this crusade". "I don't think Rita or anyone else out there like her is going to give us a choice", said Zack. Before anyone could say anything, Kimberly's phone rang. "Hello?", she answered, "Slow down, Miss Oliver, I...OK, I'll help in any way I can. OK. I'll call as soon as I find her". "Something wrong?", asked Carter. "Tommy's gone missing", said Kimberly. "Hang on", said Billy, "If I can track her energy signature, we might be able to find her".
"Can you do that?", asked Carter. "Indeed, and we should do so with all speed", said Zordon. "Why?", asked Bulk. "Because Rita has Tommy under mind control", said Trini as she adjusted some dials. "What?", asked Skull. "We're running on the theory that she's the Green Ranger", said Jason, "OK, I have something. Pull up the image on the Viewing Globe, Alpha". Everyone gathered around the Viewing Globe to find a tropical island engulfed in lava and fire. "Is she there?", asked Detective Mamiya. "Not sure", said Billy, "There's too much surface radiation from the eruption to get a clear trace on any signal." "Why would Rita just up and destroy her base of operations?", asked Carter. "Because she's taking the fight to us", said Jason.
Out at sea, the Dragonzord swam swiftly through the churning tides. Several miles behind him was Maligore, the Fire Monster, who's very body was heating up the ocean around him. The Green Ranger silently pushed the Dragonzord forward, not caring for the heat behind her.
The next day, Melanie and Carter looked over drone footage of the ruined island. "You sure that she's there?", asked Robert. "She was", said Carter, "Zordon and the Rangers couldn't get a trace due to the radiation in the area". "I didn't know volcanoes emitted this much radiation", said Robert. "You'd be surprised", said Melanie as she pulled out her notebook, "Volcanic gasses sometimes contain an element like radon. When that decays, it creates daughter particles, which decay further and give off small doses of radiation. What a lot of people don't know is that a lot of animals millions of years ago used to feed on radiation like that back in the Permian Epoch, before a mysterious event wiped a huge chunk of life off the planet". "Funny enough, the Morphing Grid, as Zordon called, is also radioactive", said Robert as he looked over the notes, "Traces of this kind of energy were found in the remains of the Hogan Twins, as well as some other monsters the Power Rangers helped to take down."
"Wait a minute", said Carter, "Check the levels of radiation and cross-reference them with Rita's other monsters". "Got it", said Robert, "Hmm, looks a lot like when Rita used Goldar". "You think she's using another monster in that volcano?", asked Melanie. "Not sure", said Carter, "I need to make a call".
"Another monster?", asked Alpha 5 as Carter called in. "Yeah, one like Goldar", said Carter as he drove down the coastline, "Zordon, are there any monsters of a similar level made from lava?" "There is", said Zordon, "An ancient giant named Maligore. With his body of molten rock and fire, he will be a more formidable opponent for my Power Rangers to deal with." "I have already detected a large object at sea giving off massive amounts of heat", said Alpha 5, "No doubt Maligore is already making headway for Angel Grove". "Upside is we already prepared for that", said Carter, "We have a line of ocean mines at the bay entrance, not to mention tank battalions and air squadrons. If those fail, you'll know what to do". "Indeed, though I pray it won't come to that", said Zordon.
Some time later, after the sun had set in the sky, Jason took a breath before stepping out into the stadium, where thousands of cheering people called his name. He nervously smiled as he stepped onto the podium. It was not an act. With no word on Tommy's whereabouts and Apex knowing about the Morphing Grid, he had every reason to be nervous. "OK, Trini, give me some good news", he muttered as he stepped forward. "Give it up for Jason Scott, former quarterback champion", said the announcer. The crowd went wild, then snapped to silence when Jason raised his hand. "Thank you", said Jason, "I know we're all nervous about the recent alien invasions and monster attacks. I'm sure some of you are skeptical of the Power Rangers efforts to save us on a weekly basis. No doubt about it, we've been through the ringer. But we survived. No, better than that. We didn't just survive; we thrived. We got better, built Angel Grove higher. If Stone Canyon wants a fight, let's show them what Angel Grove is made of!" The crowd went wild as Jason dropped the microphone. Jason made a mental note to thank Tommy when all of this was over as the football players ran in to start the big game.
"The time has come, Tommy my sweet", said Rita, "Rain Hell upon them". "As you command, my Empress", said the Green Ranger in a monotone voice. As the Dragonzord crept into the bay, the mines exploded on contact! "What was that?", cried Robert as he ran out of the tent. He held up his binoculars to see a vaguely reptilian shape surging towards the shore! "Attention all Apex personnel, evacuate immediately", he ordered into his megaphone, "I repeat, get out of here and send warning to Angel Grove now!"
"Aye yi yi, Zordon!", cried Alpha 5, "We have a surge of energy just off the coast". "The Viewing Globe, quickly!", said Detective Mamiya. Everyone gathered around to see tanks getting blown up by a flash of emerald light. "Call the Power Rangers", said Detective Mamiya, "I'm going out to help the people on the ground".
Distant explosions rang forth as Kimberly, Bulk, and Skull rode the elevated subway. Below, they could see crowds of people fleeing from something in terror. "Kimmy, what's going on?", asked Bulk nervously. Just then, the train lurched sharply to a stop! The other passengers looked around, grumbling in confusion. Just then, a loud boom filled the air, then another, then another.

Kimberly looked out of the window to see the Dragonzord marching down the street! She had only seen the beast once out at at sea, but now, he had arrived in his full glory. The Dragonzord had green and black armor along his lower body and chest, gold shoulder armor, two giant missile launchers atop his shoulders, twin rail-guns on his wrists, and tail that ended in a drill. The reptilian machine raised a mighty fist and brought it down upon a building, sending debris and rubble raining onto the street! He then raised his other hand and fired some missiles, destroying the bridge in front of the train! "Kimberly, the Dragonzord is attack Angel Grove in you vicinity", said Billy over the radio. "Yeah, I see him", said Kimberly, "Call the others. I'll be ready for anything Grimlock throws at us".
"We'll run a distraction so you can transform", said Skull. "Stay safe out there", said Bulk as he grabbed a briefcase and threw it against the train windows, only for it to bounce right back at him! Skull grabbed some kid's baseball bat and started hitting the door as fast and as hard as possible as Kimberly walked out of the subway car, thankfully finding it empty as she pulled out her Morpher.
Elsewhere, the screens at the stadium were lit up with footage of the Dragonzord going on his epic rampage! "Jason, we have to go", said Trini, "Kimberly is already there and Billy is already heading in that direction in the Triceratops Zord". "Then we'll bring out all of the big guns", said Jason as Zack ran over, "Is everyone ready?" "Ready!", said Trini and Zack.
"It's Morphing Time!"
Back in the city square, as the Dragonzord slammed into a building, two TV reporters, one an African-American man with a black jacket and the other a white man with a blue shirt and a white ascot, were filming the action as it was happening(Cameos for Walter Jones and David Yost). "I can't believe my eyes", said the African-American reporter, "This machine is tearing through the Angel Grove Park Tower like it's made of matchwood!" Just then, as fighter jets flew in to attack, the Dragonzord shot them down with his shoulder cannons! "The fire power is astounding", said the other reporter, "Those jets were made to withstand explosions like that, yet this Dragonzord has shot them down with little effort!" Suddenly, the Dragonzord snapped his head towards the reporters! "Looks like the Dragonzord has found a new target", said the African-American reporter as the Dragonzord's eyes began to glow green. Before he could attack, the Dragonzord was hit by several pink lasers as the Pterodactyl Zord flew past! "Yo, did you see that?", the other reporter asked excitedly.
Before the Dragonzord could retaliate, he was hit by tank shells fired by the Triceratops Zord! The Dragonzord knocked the Triceratops Zord away with his tail, only to be frozen in place by the Mastodon Zord! Then, the T. Rex and Sabertooth Tiger Zord leaped at the Dragonzord, only for the reptile to toss them aside as the Pterodactyl Zord fired upon him again! Then, the Zords came together to form the Mega Tank and blast the Dragonzord into an empty building! "Initiating Megazord sequence", said the Yellow Ranger. "Megazord sequence active", declared the Red Ranger as the Mega Tank transformed into the Megazord. "Looks like the Megazord is going to show that big lizard who's boss", said the African-American reporter. "Go, Power Rangers!", cried the other reporter. Just then, the Power Rangers looked over to see the Green Ranger standing on a distant building. "I can handle Tommy", said the Pink Ranger, "You guys just take care her Zord". "All good", said the Yellow Ranger, "At least with no pilot we can go all out on it".
With that, the robots charged at each other, with the Megazord throwing an uppercut that knocked the Dragonzord back! Then, the Megazord put the Dragonzord in a headlock, holding onto the reptilian machine as he slashed the Megazord with his claws! Ports opened on the sides of the shoulder cannons, allowing the Dragonzord to fire missiles at the Megazord! The robot lost his grip as the Dragonzord swung his tail, knocking the Megazord into a skyscraper! The Megazord then pulled out the Mastodon Shield as the Dragonzord spat jets of green flames at him!
On a nearby building, the Green Ranger looked up stoically as the two titans dueled to the death in the burning city. She heard a noise behind her and turned to see the Pink Ranger, standing ready with her bow and arrow. "Tommy, you have to stop this", said the Pink Ranger, "Too many people are getting hurt by this". The Green Ranger said nothing and only pulled out her scimitar as green flames danced upon the blade. "Don't do this, Tommy", begged the Pink Ranger, her voice barely rising above a whisper, "I don't want to lose you". The Green Ranger surged forward, forcing the Pink Ranger to duck out of the way and fire an arrow at her back! The Green Ranger sliced the arrow in half with her scimitar, then pulled out the Dragon Dagger and charged!

"Bring down the Power Sword!", declared the Red Ranger. At once, the Power Sword fell from the sky and into the Megazord's hand! The Dragonzord fired his shoulder cannons and rail-guns at the Megazord, only for the robot the slice off one of the shoulder cannons and bash one of the rail-guns! The Dragonzord launched the other shoulder cannon and detached the empty rail-guns as it exploded against the Mastodon Shield! Then, he fired his finger missiles, blasting the Megazord in chest and legs! Before the Megazord could counter, the Dragonzord stabbed forward with his tail drill, sending the Megazord flying into construction scaffolds! The Dragonzord then kicked the Power Sword away as he readied his fiery breath, only to be tackled by the Megazord! "Come on, you big lizard!", yelled the Blue Ranger, "Come get these hands!" The Megazord then hit the Dragonzord with a right hook!
The Green Ranger kicked away the Power Bow before sweeping out the Pink Ranger's legs! She stabbed down with her scimitar, only for the Pink Ranger to dodge at the last minute and rebound with a kick to the face! Just then, the Green Ranger noticed the Dragonzord being tossed aside by the Megazord and quickly played a note on the Dragon Dagger. The Pink Ranger wrapped her arms around her waist and bent backwards, slamming the Green Ranger onto the ground!
"Alright, Red Ranger, put some of those football skills to the test", said the Black Ranger. "On it", said the Red Ranger. At once, the Megazord charged, tackling the Dragonzord against a building! But then, he was stabbed in the back by the Dragonzord's drill tail and flung into another building! "Status report", said the Red Ranger. "No civilian casualties yet", said the Blue Ranger, "But our power output has been reduced by 30%". "Switching to distance fighting", said the Yellow Ranger, "Firing lasers!" The Megazord fired his laser vision, brilliant gold beams clashing against emerald flames! The beam fight was so intense that they both exploded, sending both robots flying back! "Now we have a power output of 40%", said the Blue Ranger, "If we don't recover that power soon, we're toast!" Just then, the Red Ranger noticed the Power Sword nearby as the Dragonzord charged up his fiery breath. As soon as he fired, the Megazord grabbed his weapon and used it to block the flames, absorbing the energy from them! Then, ports on the Megazord's shoulders opened and fired missiles, knocking the Dragonzord back!
Down on the ground, Detective Mamiya reunited with Bulk and Skull as the Megazord and Dragonzord continued their battle to the death. "How are things down here?", he asked. "We managed to get the normies out of the train car before the Power Rangers arrived", said Skull. "My baby!", cried a lady as she was carried by the fleeing crowds. "Let's go", said Bulk as he rushed back into the danger zone!
The Dragonzord readied another shot of fiery breath, only for the Megazord to force his head upwards, causing the reptilian to shoot into the air! The Dragonzord knocked the Megazord back with his tail, only to be hit by missiles fired by low-flying drones! "Thought you guys could use the help", said Melanie over the radio, "We're partners after all". "Hope you have more where that came from", said the Black Ranger as the Megazord dodged a claw strike.
"All units, move in", said Melanie. At once, a full squadron of tanks and drones attacked, hitting the Dragonzord from every angle! The Dragonzord used his finger missiles to shoot down the drones, only for the Megazord to tackle him! The Dragonzord tossed him aside and charged, stepping onto the firing tanks as he bashed his head against the Megazord's chest!
Back on the street, Bulk, Skull, and Detective Mamiya dodged falling debris as they reached the baby, whose stroller was trapped between a car and a wrecked building. "Careful, Bulk", said Skull as they climbed over the car. Just as Bulk gently picked up the bay, a stray tail whip from the Dragonzord knocked a tank into the building above, raining debris down atop him! Suddenly, Carter tackled him away from the falling rubble! "Word of advice", he said as he gently picked up the crying baby, "When you get what you're looking for, run". "Good advice", said Bulk as the four of them fled the scene.
Up on the roof, the Pink Ranger recovered her bow and fired off an arrow, shattering part of the Green Ranger's helmet! The Green Ranger sent out a glare with her one exposed eye, which glowed a sickly, pale green. The Pink Ranger ducked behind a sword strike and fired another arrow, shattering the scimitar! The Green Ranger stopped for a moment, the glowing in her eyes flickering for a moment. "Come on, Tommy!", cried the Pink Ranger, "Fight it!" The glowing resumed as the Green Ranger snapped forward with the Dragon Dagger! "Zordon, it didn't work", said the Pink Ranger as she leaped away, "Tommy's still under mind control!"
"Oh, fuck, what do we do now?", asked Alpha 5. "We have no choice", said Zordon solemnly, "We will have to start the purification ritual". "OK", sighed Alpha 5, "Preparing the sacred scroll". He took a scroll from inside a safe and unfurled it. "Ready when you are", said Alpha 5. "Repeat after me. Klaatu...varada...nikto!"
At those words, the Green Ranger's body was enveloped by white energy! "Zordon, what's happening?", asked the Pink Ranger. "The purification ritual is working its magic", said Alpha 5, "Energy from the Morphing Grid is surging through Tommy's body as we speak". As the white energy flowed into the Green Ranger, she saw flashes of her life before she set foot on that island, images of her mother, her father, and Kimberly. The energy faded as the Green Ranger fell to her knees, shaking with fright. Tommy tore off the helmet and crawled to the side of the building, finally surveying the damage she had caused. "I...did this?", she asked, a single tear falling down her cheek. The Pink Ranger reached toward her, only for Tommy to recoil in fright. "No, stay away", she wept. "Tommy, it's OK", said Kimberly as she took off her helmet, "It's over".
Just then, the Megazord picked up something approaching on the radar. Suddenly, an entire building melted as Maligore, the Fire Beast, appeared. He had cracked, volcanic skin, a crest like a chasmosaurus, hands that ended in three claws, and a splitting lower jaw! The lava forming his chest opened up, revealing Rita Repulsa and Finster. "I see that worthless Green Ranger has failed, just as expected", Rita gloated, "I bring this up because I want to see how her failure will stack up to yours. Maligore, attack". The beast's chest closed as the lava monster charged, splashing molten rock onto the tanks below! The Megazord hit him with his laser vision, only to be hit by a glob of lava! Maligore then grabbed the Megazord and tossed him through another building! Drones flew in to shoot at Maligore, only for the beast to shoot them down with his fiery breath!
"Tommy, how do we stop that thing?", asked Kimberly. "I...I don't know", said Tommy, "It's my fault, it's my fault". "Hey, it's NOT you fault", said Kimberly, "Rita took advantage of you. All of this is on her, not you". Tommy looked around and saw the Dragonzord laying on the ground. She picked up the Dragon Dagger and played a note as the Dragonzord rose up and fired his finger missiles at Maligore! Then, the Dragonzord fired his green flames as Maligore charged forward, only to be shoulder-slammed by the Megazord! Maligore threw two globs of lava at the robots, knocking them back! "All units, focus all fire power on Maligore! The tanks, drones, and helicopters fired on Maligore, hoping against hope to slow his advance as he stepped into the football stadium!

At once, the Dragonzord and Megazord fired their missiles at Maligore, blowing off his right arm! Maligore roared and slammed his left arm into the ground, using the lava to drill into the earth! The Dragonzord stabbed him in the chest with his tail drill as the Megazord fired his laser vision! The Megazord then fired his shoulder missiles, hitting Maligore in the face! But it was too late, as Maligore had pulled the Zeo Crystal out of the ground!
"At last!", cried Rita as she appeared on Maligore's shoulder, "The Zeo Crystal is mine!" Maligore then unleashed a shockwave of energy, sending the Megazord and Dragonzord flying back! "Come on, guys", said the Red Ranger, "We need to keep fighting". Tommy looked at the glowing green Zeo Crystal, then to the Dragon Dagger. "Kim, your bow", she said. Kimberly drew the bowstring back as Tommy placed the Dragon Dagger on it. They both powered the Dragon Dagger up with both of their energies. "Ready?", asked Kimberly. "Fire!", said Tommy. Kimberly shot the Dragon Dagger hard and fast into the Zeo Crystal, with the energy built up within shattering the crystal on contact! The Zeo Crystal broke into six pieces and flew at light speed in different directions! "NO!", cried Rita in rage. "You can never have the Zeo Crystal, Rita", said the Red Ranger as the Megazord stood up, holding the Power Sword and Mastodon Shield aloft, "Only the worthy may have the power is possessed, and as Zordon once said, you were less than even that". Rita roared in anger as Maligore charged, only to be hit by the Dragonzord's fiery breath! The Megazord slashed through Maligore's side with Power Sword before kicking him down!
Maligore fired his own breath, only for the Megazord to block the attack with the Mastodon Shield! The Dragonzord whipped Maligore in the face with his tail, then fired missiles at him! The helicopters fired their own missiles and machine guns, slowing Maligore down long enough for the Megazord to land a shield bash to his face! The Dragonzord then impaled Maligore with his tail drill! "He's wounded", said the Blue Ranger. "Attack that area with Power Sword!", commanded the Red Ranger. The Megazord held his sword into the air as lightning hit, then slashed through Maligore, causing the Fire Beast to explode! Rita and Finster were almost caught in the blast, but were struck by a bolt of white lightning, taking them to parts unknown.
The next morning, while surveying the damage, Melanie and the Red Ranger caught up to each other. "Still no sign of them", said Melanie, "Our current theory is that Rita and her friend died in the blast, but seeing as how she survived getting slapped into outer space, I have my doubts". "Me too", said the Red Ranger. "I couldn't help but notice the Pink one wasn't with you last night", said Melanie. "She had to take care of the Green Ranger", said the Red Ranger, "Rita had her under mind control for the better half of two weeks. As far as I know, she disappeared after that". "Well, when you see her, give her this for me", said Melanie as she handed the Red Ranger the Dragon Dagger, "If she needs the Dragonzord repaired, we'll be here for that". "What about the info on the Morphing Grid?", asked the Red Ranger, "How do you plan to keep that information out of the wrong hands". "People don't trust me to do the right thing", said Melanie with the faintest hint of a smile, "Carter isn't one of those people. He'll pick the candidates for my Rangers. After all, there's no profit to be made if the world is destroyed. For now, the Green Ranger is your issue. Let us deal with the rest, partner". "We'll keep in touch", said the Red Ranger as he shook Melanie's hand.
Elsewhere, as the wreckage was being cleaned of radiation, Tommy had joined up with relief workers, keeping her head down as she helped refugees among the rubble. She noticed a shadow above her and turned to find her mother. "Kimberly told me everything", she said. "Then you this is my fault", said Tommy, "I know, I know; it was mind control. That's not an excuse. I still let her get into my head, mess with my memories and everything". "I'm sorry that happened to you, Tomo-Chan", said her mother as she sat down next to her, "But look on the bright side. If it weren't for you, the situation could've been a lot worse. I mean, I shudder to think of what might have happened if that awful woman had gotten her ugly hands on that crystal". "She wouldn't have gotten to it if it weren't for me", sighed Tommy, "Father is rolling in his grave right now". "I don't think he is", said her mother, "If he could see you now, he'd be proud of the woman you're becoming. He'd tell you to look at this moment ant learn from it. Everybody makes mistakes, so let's be greater". Tommy chuckled. "Did he really say that?", she asked. "That's what he told me after his first bar fight", said her mother, "Oh, Kimberly told me to give you this. Use it when you're ready". She handed Tommy a strange watch with a green button on it. "Should I?", asked Tommy. "You know I wouldn't be opposed, Tomo-Chan", said her mother, "If you chose to go, remember: I love you". "I love you too, Okasan", said Tommy, and she pushed the button.
Instantly, she was transported to the Command Center, where Zordon was waiting. Tommy bowed to him. "The bow isn't necessary", said Alpha 5. "I wish to apologize", said Tommy, "None of what happened would've been in issue if I didn't pick this up". She placed the Power Coin, now green with white cracks, on the ground. "I am not worthy to wield this power", said Tommy. "Worth has little to do with heroism", said Zordon, "While you were manipulated to commit great evil, your free will had allowed you to commit the greatest good. It was thanks to you that Rita will never again get her hands on the power of the Zeo Crystal". "Can't you give the power to someone else?", asked Tommy, "I mean, I'm not opposed to helping out and building back the trust people put in the Power Rangers, but am I really the right person to have this power?" "The Power Coins, regardless of any previous owner, chose who uses them", said Zordon, "Rita only held onto it for as long as she did because of her black magic. The purification ritual has freed it from her influence and consequently locked the power of the Morphing Grid away from her forever. If the Power Coin believes you worthy, then you are". Tommy looked to her hand, where the Green Power Coin had appeared. "Guess that answers that", said Jason as he and the others entered the Command Center, "Before anything happens, you'll need this". He placed the Dragon Dagger in her left hand. "You're trusting me with this?", asked Tommy. "Well, Zack and I had our doubts', said Trini, "But Kimberly's vouching for you, and I trust her with my life". "Welcome to the Power Rangers", said Billy, "We're happy to have you here". Tommy looked to Kimberly and simply hugged her. "Thank you for saving my life", she said. "It's the least I could do for someone I love", said Kimberly as she kissed Tommy's forehead.
Elsewhere, Carter looked over the files presented to him. "Lot of civilians, I noticed", said Detective Mamiya. "We need people closer to Earth, if you know what I mean", said Carter, "This Morphing Grid business Apex has gotten themselves into will no doubt lead to trouble. Best to find people who care about the little guy, like your Spider-Man". "Indeed", said Detective Mamiya, "While I still distrust Melanie Sheer and Apex at large, I know you will make the right decision." "Were the kids upset you're going back to Japan?", asked Carter. Deep in space, on a distant planet, Rita and Finster were deposited at the foot of a massive throne with stone steps leading to it. "The Zeo Crystal", a figure above said, "Did you get it?" "I couldn't", stammered Rita, "It was destroyed. Destroyed by the Power Rangers!" "Enough!", shrieked the figure as the throne turned, revealing Lord Zedd, an inhuman creature with exposed muscle covered by bits of metal platting, clawed hands, an exposed brain, and a face shield with a red visor and permanent, silver grin. "Those Power Rangers were nothing but mere infants", said Lord Zedd as he stepped forward, "You were defeated by children!" "You think you could beat them?", asked Rita, "They've defeated the greatest of my monsters!" "If it's a monster you wish to see", said Lord Zedd as he aimed his Z staff into the air, "Then it's a monster you'll get!"
