Author's Notes: Last April Fools' chapter! Hope you enjoyed the ride!
Before Ultra Magnus touched down on Earth, Miko already had the beginnings of a "welcoming" plan for future Autobots. But the Decepticons officially announcing their invasion of the planet had put her ideas on an unfortunate hold.
Understandably, there had been too much going on.
But once things were as settled as they could be at the military base the Autobots had taken refuge in, "Operation Morale" was put into motion.
According to Bulkhead and Wheeljack, the ex-commander of the Wreckers was strict. A very no-nonsense by-the-book stickler for the rules. Ultra Magnus didn't earn that rank for nothing, and it would be difficult for Miko to get close to him. She'd sooner be flattened by his hammer.
But his rigidity on protocol just might work in her favor…
Ultra Magnus focused his optics on the sheet of paper in Jack's hands. "So… What's this for?"
"They're registration stickers for your license plate," Jack replied as he held up the sheet. "It'll help with your disguise and prevent you from getting pulled over by the law. Fowler's orders."
The ex-Wrecker commander shifted back into vehicle mode in understand. "Very well, you may apply them."
"Don't forget these!" Raf waved another sheet as he hurried over to the blue truck. "Safety warnings for drivers on the road."
The two boys could almost feel the new Autobot's confusion. "Such as…?"
Raf carefully peeled off the large decals. "One is a warning for making wide turns, like with your trailer. The other tells vehicles not to drive so close behind you. Standard stuff."
"Yo, can I go in your cab real quick?" Miko asked as she knocked on the commander's passenger door. "This will complete the disguise!"
Magnus's sensors picked up on the object the young girl held. "What is that?"
"For your mirror! It's a common accessory truckers use around here!"
From the other side of the hangar, Optimus Prime watched his lieutenant interact with the Human children. He made no move to stop them as they lingered around Ultra Magnus for much longer than they needed to help. Turning away, he hid his smile behind his mask. It wouldn't be long until the rest of Team Prime returned to Hangar E.
The "Big Mother Trucker" and "Hammer Down" stickers, and the fluffy pink dice hanging from his windshield, were definitely not standard issue.
