He sprinted towards Town Hall, hoping to find Mayor Goodway, but the doors were locked. The unsettling silence seemed to amplify his every footstep. Had Adventure Bay become a deserted movie set? A shiver ran down his spine as he considered the possibility.
Suddenly, a flicker of movement in the distance caught his eye. A lone figure darted across the street, disappearing into an alleyway. Hope surged through Ryder. Maybe he wasn't entirely alone.
