It had been months since they had made it to this strange new world, in that time the serpentine had focused on survival and growth. Now living on the outlands, that task proves to be more of a challenge. But under the leadership of General Arcturus, the have thrived and talks of expansion have begone.
Waking up that morning, Arcturus awoke to see his people's progress, in the months that had past they had created a new home for themselves. Built to resemble the Anacondrai temples back home, their new lair consisted of a small temple on top, made of granite with a large snake head on the top, lit along with small torches, while the inside reveals the entrance to a great subterranean village. They had made use of the natural caverns to create this expanse of walkways, brick-built trails, and waterways.
They had even begone the construction of a small library, at Acidicus request, most of the tomes taken from his personal collection.
Along with training areas and a workshop, both for toolmaking and the Venomari's chemistry, they had made a thriving little settlement on their new world. They even had a slitter-pit!
Making his way to the village center, Arcturus was intercepted by his other generals.
"Arcturusss, there is something we must disscust with you." One of the generals said.
"Yes, we appeard to be having some issues in place." Another added.
"My dear generals, what seems to be the problem" Arcturus responded.
"Unrest, the others grow weary in this calm. They wish to fight and expand beyond the borders." One of them responded.
"I understand generals, but without proper reconnaissance it is simple to much of a risk, there's no telling what is out there, there must had been reason to be banish to this place and I don't intent to learn it unprepared." He spoke.
"It'sss not jussst that sir. They are talks of betrayal, snakes that don't think you're strong enough to lead, especially the other generals. After all, only one can remain." He informed him.
"Yes, general. Only one people can remain. Since our unity. The life of warriors had almost destroyed us, so forgive me for not wanted to jump back into it so quickly." He replied, with a serious tone.
"Besides, is not like we have a target for any possible conquest…"
"GENERAL ARCTURUS!"
Suddenly a hunting party quickly made their way to the center, calling for their leader.
"GENERAL!"
"Over here captain!" he said to the hunting party, consisted mostly of Constrictai and Venomari.
"We found something you need to see." The captain said to him.
"Show me!" Arcturus told him.
Making his way to the rest of the group, he was surprised to find that Pythor was already there.
"What seems to be the situation here!" Arcturus asked.
"Ah, Arcturus. We appear to have some unwanted visitors on our mist." Answered a confident Pythor.
"What do you mean!" Arcturus cried out.
"Just look at what our men brought in." Pythor said, a mischievous look on his eyes.
Slithering over to the group, the serpentine leader was shocked at what they found. There, wrapped in vines, was a strange humanoid creature. It was feline in appearance, a lion maybe? He had dark brown fur and a large blonde mane. He wore a light blue shirt with a darker blue skirt, along with a golden armored chest piece.
"What are you?" Arcturus whispered to himself.
"It had this with him" one of the hunting party said, handing him a black doble bladed sword with a silver lion shaped guard and handle. A fine weapon, one that was a clear sign of a society of warriors.
"A weapon, clearly this must be some local scout in OUR territory. My dear general if these are not grounds for an attack, I don't know what is?" Pythor told the general.
"Leave! I will speak to the prisoner myself." He exclaimed.
"As you wish my liege!" they said.
Slithering face to face with the captured lion, Arcturus was at a loss on what to do. He and his people were warriors, the best in all of Ninjago! But, after so much loss, was he really willing to drag the tribes through war again. He wasn't sure.
"Speak prisoner, who are you!" he demanded.
Looking up at his captor, Lavertus, exile prince of the Lion tribe, lie in deep thought. Who was this mysterious tribe, why were they in the Outlands, and how was he going to get out of this?
"Well, aren't you all a rag-tag group of creatures with unclear goals! Oh, let me guess, you're out to conquer the world!" Lavertus answered with a grin, trying to get his captor to talk.
"We are the Serpentine, and whether we conquer or not is entirely up to you! So, I asked again. Who are you!" Arcturus responded.
"Oh, my name is not important…Or is it? I'm just an exile making my way through the Outlands, nothing more." He responded again.
"Like a shadow on the wind, you could say" he continued to say.
"Very well mister "ShadoWind", then tell me, where were you exile from!" the serpentine general asked, a slight hint of mockery on his voice.
"That's really not important, not at all. I'm from nowhere, nothing important at all." He replied with a nervous smile.
"Now that is funny, really it is, because I can't tell you're lying to me. And I don't take kindly to liars." Arcturus said.
"Now listen to me, you're going to tell me where you're from and why you are here, or I'm going to find your home and bring IT and all it's people on their knees!" He said to his face, Arcturus was a patient snake, but if there was a threat to his people he would not hesitate.
"You stay away from Chima you fiend!" Lavertus cried, realizing too late what he said.
"So, it has a name, Chima. Well, that's one question down, one more to go!" Arcturus said.
"I told you, I was exile, I'm not a threat to any of you! I was just passing by." Lavertus cried out again.
"You see, I really want to believe you, but passing throe my territory armed kind of begs to differ." The general said.
"I don't know what you're talking about... Or do I?" he said as his Black Valious was raised to him.
"Well, you see, the Outlands are a dangerous place, I need to defend myself." He defended himself.
"Yes, I supposed they are. But if you have noting to fear then why lie?" Arcturus asked.
"I was exiled, but I still wish to protect my people! How do I know you're not a threat?" Lavertus retorted.
"I suppose you are correct!" Arcturus responded as he pondered this predicament.
"I can respect your desire to protect your own" he told Lavertus.
"Do you give me your word that you are not a threat." The general asked.
"As long as you don't hurt Chima, I am no threat to you." The lion responded.
Nodding to him he cried to his soldiers, "LET HIM GO".
As the soldiers got closer, Pythor jumped out and cried out in disgust.
"WHAT! He has seen our village; he is an enemy and you want to let him go!" he cried at his leader.
"You have grown weak Arcturus, we are Anacondrai, the greatest warriors of the land. We should be ruling this place!" he yelled at him with all his anger.
"That is not your decision Pythor! Stand down or face the consequences." Arcturus warned Pythor.
"It is NOW! General Arcturus I challenge you for the rank of General and your wright to rule over the serpentine!" he said.
"Watch it Pythor" Arcturus warned again.
"I challenge you to a SLITHER PIT!"
