Outside the halls of the Lion temple, the citizens of Chima are once again lining up for their weekly Chi. With all the chi filling up the sacred pool, the lions look to share it amongst all the tribes.
"Use it well, use it wisely." Lagravis said as he handed the precious orbs to the citizens of Chima.
As the gorillas arrive Laval chuckles at Gorzan with chi at hand before saying, "and catch a stack coming around my back!" as he tosses up a few orbs. Lagravis glares and growls at Laval while Gorzan catches the chi by his plate-shaped basket.
"Boys! a little respect, please. This is chi, our most sacred resource. it holds the power of nature itself, the life force of all Chima!
"Dude! dude dude." Was all the gorillas said as they left.
"Thet word dude has more then 15 hundred meanings in the gorilla tribe. I believe Gorzan just apologized and promised to be more considerate." Laval informed his father.
"I expect nothing less from you too, dude." He says as he continues passing the Chi along.
Minutes pass as Lagravis continues to pass the Chi, before passing some to a fishy someone with a rhino-shaped helmet.
"Use it well, use it-"Lagravis starts before the unknown figure takes off his rhino-shaped helmet that covered away his appearance, showing it to be Cragger and Crooler.
"Cragger?!" was all Laval said as the lion guards roar at Cragger and stand in an offensive position.
"Woah! woah! old friends, we're not here to fight you! We're just here for our chi." The crocodile siblings said.
"What?! you've got to be kidding me." Laval cried out in disbelief.
"Hey! Every tribe in Chima gets chi! Those are the rules, aren't they?" Cragger exclaimed, as Lagravis moved towards them, chi in hand.
"Dad! You can't be serious?!" Laval cried out as he walked up to him. "You're giving them Chi?! the power of nature, all mighty life force of Chima! Etc, Etc!" he exclaimed to his dad.
"I'm glad you were actually listening before," Lagravis tells him as he continues to carry on his task.
Laval looked on in shock before trying to appease his father again, "But you can't, Cragger attacked us, he thought we hurt his parents, even though we didn't! but he still led this huge army of wolves and ravens against us, stole our chi, hurt our friends, kicked me into the creek, and almost brought down our entire temple! if it wasn't for the great legend beast coming in from the Outlands to save us well..! We might not be standing here today!" he reminded him.
Cragger touches Laval's shoulder as he begins to talk, "Old news Laval. The battle's over. The legend beast went bye-bye to the Outlands, we're all good!"
"I don't think so! They'll just use whatever chi you give them against us!" Laval exclaims once more. Lagravis however continues approaching Cragger. "Perhaps. But we must share the chi with all, even those who challenge us or disagree with us," he said. "But dad!" Laval tries to say. "Those are the rules son, and without the rules, we are nothing." Lagravis finished.
Cragger grabs his chi with a chuckle, glaring at Laval before leaving down the stairs, leaving the lion prince with only one thing to say, "Use it well, use it wisely..."
On its way to the Crocodile Swamp, the massive Crocodile Command ship made its way thru the rivers of Chima. The massive croc-shaped boat was the pride of the crocodiles' navy and a formidable vessel for combat. Within its controls were the crocodile sibling as well as their guards, returning to their home without a care. However, before Cragger could reach the Crocodile Swamp, Laval races in on his speedor.
From the banks, Laval called out to his former friend, "CRAGGER! WE NEED TO TALK! I'M HERE TO WARN YOU CRAGGER! DON'T EVEN THINK OF USING THAT CHI AGAINST US! DO YOU HEAR ME?! CRAGGER, HEY!" suddenly jumping onto Cragger's windshield, Laval continued. "I'M TALKING TO YOU!".
Cragger, more annoyed than anything, called out to his guards, "Would you mind removing that bug off our windshield?" Crawley and Crug exit from their windshields and attack Laval, "Is this really necessary?!" he asks. "Boss don't like hitch-hikers," Crug answers while Crawley slams his blade against Laval's. "Ha! You're not so tough." He says before looking up and getting knocked into the water by a log, Cragger wagging his head in disappointment. Crug is then kicked in the face all the way into Cragger's windshield before saying, "Almost got him, boss! Don't you worry!", as he slides down the windshield.
"Do I have to do "everything" myself?!" Cragger cried in frustration, before being stopped by his sister." Hold on brother, remember that clever plan you had the other day?" she said."Actually, I think you had the plan? But it was clever, so I suppose I can take credit for it." He mentioned his eyes briefly glowing a vibrant red.
While Crug and Laval fight, Cragger opens up the top of the crocodile ship's mouth sending both of them flying and landing back on dry land. Exiting the ship Cragger says, "Okay Laval, you win!"
"What?!" was all Laval and Crug could say.
"Sure uh... We attacked you guys," he says as he walks away pretending to be guilty. "Tried to destroy you, really think we shouldn't have your chi..."
"You crocs shouldn't have any chi!" Laval interrupts with a confrontational tone.
Cragger silently chuckles as he continues, "Fine! then take it!" he finally says. "No way!" Said Crug in shock. "You heard what the lion said Crug, we crocs shouldn't have any chi. Come now crocodiles, the lion has spoken, we need to share his words with the rest of our tribe." Crooler says as they begin to leave.
As the crocs continue their way to the swamp a stun Laval is left behind, with only one thing to say, "Wow! That was easy!"
On his way, Laval rides his speedorz through the woods before his friend Eris approaches him with her own. "Hey Laval, what ya got there?" she asked. "Only the crocodile's chi" he answered her. "What?!" She said with shock.
"Well, uh... yeah! They're our enemies remember." Laval reminded her. "Sure! But you can't just take their chi, Laval." She told him. "I didn't! they gave it to me" he informed her. "They just "gave" it to you?" she asked skeptically. "Yeah, I know! I was surprised too, but they did! Score one for me." He answered her confidently.
"But your dad says, every tribe gets their chi, no matter what. It's like his most sacred rule." She reminded him. "This is different," he tells her."Is that what you're gonna tell him?" She asks. "No! Uh... I don't know, I haven't really thought that far." He finally admits.
"You can't just put chi back in the sacred pool y'know, and you can't just hide it from other lions." Eris reminds her friend. "Ugh... good point..." Laval says as she continues. "Chi must be used! or you risk setting the balance of nature. The last time a lion kept too much chi for himself, Chima had all these earthquakes, and lava, and-" "I know, I've heard the stories." He lets her know. Eris continues her lecture undeterred, "That's why the lions share it. it's not just the noble thing to do, it's the only thing to do!" she finishes.
Laval grabbed the bag of chi, looking down at it before saying, "Uh…I think I might've messed up..."
Meanwhile, in the Crocodile Swamp, outside the gates of the croc hideout Crooler could be seen sneaking a large crate toward the outskirts of the swamp. Nearing the edge of the swamp a shadowy figure slithered forwards.
"Skales! Took you long enough!" Crooler says. "Do you have what you promised" the serpentine hissed at the croc. Crooler nodded towards the crate, "Harnesses and weapons, ready for an army." "And the chi? Asked Skales. "Patience soon will have all the chi we could ever need! Ih your little hypnosis is as good as you claim." Crooler assures him. "My work is impeccable and for your own sake we better get what you promised, you have no idea just what's at stake here. As for your brother, I might need to visit him once more," he informed her. As he gestured for the other snakes to grab the crate, he turned to her and said, "Just make sure to inform me if anything goes wrong.
The serpentine began to make their way out of the swamp before Skales turned back to her, "Oh… and Crooler, for your sake you better be careful. Pythor can be very vindictive on those that wrong him." The general warns her as he slithers away.
As she lay there, deep in thought she began to turn back toward the throne room, where the rest of her tribe awaited. Nearing the room she could hear her brother enacting his part of the plan.
"TELL THEM WHAT THE LIONS SAID CRUG!" Cragger ordered the dimwitted croc. "Uh...! yeah! It was pretty weird, but he said, crocs shouldn't have any chi." Crug told them. "Dirty claw licker! Keeping our chi!, We'll fix the fur bag!" could all be heard among the crowd, the rage, and indignation clear in their voices.
Cragger: We must crush the lions! Or they will never give us chi, ever again!" Cragger proclaimed to his subjects as they chatter about. Soon after, Crawley comes up the stairs with a message, "Uh... master Cragger, I hate to interrupt but uh... Laval's outside, says he wants to give us some chi" he informs him.
"WHAT?! but he'll ruin everything, my big speech, my big army, my big attack! my-"Cragger begins rambling and freaking out."Worry not brother, we can make this work to our advantage." Crooler says as she calms her brother down.
Outside the Crocodile Swamp Eris and Laval stand at the entrance of the Crocodile Hideout, not being welcomed that nicely.
"You're not welcome here lion!" Cragger says as he and Crooler dive into the swamp water and towards Eris and Laval, Eris staring Laval a little bit of a glare."Yeah, see, I might've made a tiny.. little.. sort of mistake about that. sorry...?" Laval says to them, giving them their chi back.
"Ugh! Y'know, you give me that chi now, I will use every last orb to destroy you, your father, and your entire tribe" Cragger tells the two chuckles nervously as he tries to de-escalate the situation. "No need for that.. I'm trying to apologize here."
Meanwhile, the Crocodiles on the other side of the Swamp try to listen to the conversation.
"Apologise? You'll be sorry you ever met me when I use that chi to punish your girlfriend there too." threatens Cragger. "Hey! I'm not his girlfriend!" Eris cries out indignantly. "Leave her out this!" Laval warns him."Why? What are you gonna do? Once my men and I have that chi, your wings, and fur bags won't stand a chance." Cragger tells them with glee. "That's enough Cragger!" Laval warns once more."Chima shall be ours. We'll have your temple and all your chi!" Says Cragger, edging him this Eris grabs Laval's arm, "He's just messing with you." She tells him."Just picture your poor father, completely crushed by the very chi you gave us!" Cragger finishes with a wicked smile, his eyes turning red once more.
"THAT'S IT! YOU'RE NEVER GETTING OUR CHI!" Laval cried out.
Hearing that, the rest of the crocodile tribe yells at Laval. Taking advantage of this, Cragger turns to his troops, "YOU HEARD HIM! WE'RE NEVER GETTING "THEIR' CHI, SO LET'S GET HIM!"
"Uh oh." Was all Laval could say before he and Eris are chased by the whole entire tribe. "Sorry, Eris! He said or those nasty things and-!" "I know, just figure out what to do with his chi and do it fast!" she tells him. "Let's split up! you head home, I'll take this chi to the fangs and throw it into the gorge of eternal depth!" Laval told her, having a plan in mind."What?! Not there!" Eris exclaimed.
Later in the Fangs, Laval makes his way to the Gorge, a load of Crocodiles following then keeping him trapped with nowhere to go. Cragger approaches on his speedor and Laval hangs the bag of chi just above the Gorge.
"You do know that this gorge is like, bottomless? Nothing is "ever" found when it falls in there. You remember?" Cragger says with a serious tone. Undeterred Laval drops the bag, "Whoops!" he said as the bag rolls down and into the gorge's darkness.
"I suppose I should thank you now Laval, you just made everything so much easier for me," Cragger says mockingly. "SEE WHAT THE LIONS ARE LIKE?! THEY'D RATHER THROW OUR CHI AWAY THAN GIVE IT TO US! IT'S TIME TO THROW THEM AWAY!" he exclaims.
Every crocodile agrees with Cragger's words and slowly marches towards Laval. He plugs a saved chi and eliminates a few crocodiles but he gets back near the edge of the gorge he's tipped off a bit of his balance by a single shot.
Cragger closes on to the downed lion and says, "What was it you said earlier? When you threw our chi down there! oh yeah, I believe you said." He stomps the ground and makes Laval fall.
"Whoops!"
"AAAAHHHH!" Laval cries as he falls into the gorge, luckily, Eris comes to the rescue with her eagle jet, diving down into the gorge.
" GRAB ON!" Eris yells as Laval grabs on and is taken back to the surface. However, the jet manages to get close to the outside but is pushed down by some sort of gravity problem.
"THE GORGE! PULLING US BACK! DON'T THINK WE CAN MAKE IT! HOLD ON!" she cries as the jet falls into darkness.
"Is that it? They're, gone?" Cragger wonders aloud, staring into the abyss. Suddenly Eris plugs a chi and boosts the power of her jet, letting her get it through the push of the gorge and into the sky.
"GET THEM!" Cragger yells out, as all the crocodiles' blast at the jet, missing every shot until Crug shoots the jet down, onto the other side of the gorge's giant rip in the earth.
Eris and Laval manage a safe landing, but back on the other side a few crocs beat Laval's speedor to a pulp. "Hey! Stop that! My speedor never did anything to you!" Laval cries out as he jumps up and down.
Eris drags Laval away a bit from his arm before telling him, "We're safe on this side for now, it's a long way around that gorge." Laval looks at her and tells her, "You need to warn the other tribes! The crocs are looking for a fight."
"Well duh... what did you expect?" she asks him. "Hey, I know I messed up. but I'll fix it, I'll find the legend beasts, it worked last time, right?" Laval retorts confidently as the two split up again.
A while later, on the border between the Outlands and Chima, Laval walks to the border, hearing a roar past the fog that hides away the Outlands.
"Legend beast! Is that you?! Legend beast we need you! again. To save Chima!" he says as he walks into the water. "Ugh, I hate water... hm?" He then chops down a small tree that lands in the water, using it to avoid his watery foe. "WAIT UP! Legend beast! I'm coming!" he calls out.
"AFTER HIM!" Cragger cries out, standing with a few crocs behind him on land, he immediately dives into the water and goes straight for Laval.
"Cragger... They must've reached the creek from the other side of the gorge. Ugh, can't fight a croc on water... gotta reach the shore!" Laval says while he jumps on land using Crug's head as a stepping stone, but almost falls luckily regaining his balance and jumping to the distance.
Cragger comes out of the water with some crocodiles, "Nice try Laval, but we knew you'd go crying to your legend beast" he mocks him. "It's not my legend beast! it protects all of Chima." Laval told him with conviction. "Guess he's got better things to do today than save your sorry butt!" Cragger tells him as they move closer.
"Why legend beast...? Why...?" Laval asks as every crocodile surrounds him, slowly making their way to him together as the chi effect drains out. As if to add insult to injury, Cragger pulls up a chi orb, "What?! you think I'd let you steal "all" our chi before?! He says as he plugs in the chi.
Suddenly, Plovar appears out of nowhere inside Cragger's mouth, "Dental hygiene appointment time!" he cries out happily. "Plovar?!" Cragger asked in surprise. "Time to polish the pearlies Craggy-wag! did you forget our appointment, again?" he asked the crocodile. "You have the worst timing ever!" Cragger told him irritated. Laval approaches, "Yeah, I gotta agree there, and I don't ever agree with Cragger" he tells him. "Don't you know there's no winning without a winning smile?" Plovar responded. Everyone then yells at Plovar to the point he flees, as they are throwing their spears at him*"Does this mean you want to re-schedule?!" He cries our while dodging a spear.
Laval backs away from Cragger before asking, "Can we do this now? Or do you need more time to "froof" up your fangs?"
Cragger responded saying, "Nothing wrong with good dental hygiene Laval. Besides, my fangs will be glorious once I crush you!" he says as he jumps at Laval slamming his spear down. Laval blocks the spear before retaliating, "Yeah right! You'll use those teeth alright! When I make you eat those words!" he says as he pushes the croc away.
Laval and Cragger battle for a quick minute, Laval gaining the upper hand when he pushes Cragger down onto a small piece of solid rock in the water. "Stay down Cragger!" Laval warns him. "Okay, if you insist. Crocs! Destroy him for me!" he calls out to his troops.
All Cragger's men growl at Laval with their weapons ready. "Uh oh, not again... come on legend beast! Now's be a good time to show yourself." Laval cries out before this sudden change of odds gets him pinned to the ground with multiple spears to his chest.
"LEGEND BEAST! HELLO?! ANYONE?!" Laval cries out one more time, before his cries are answered by a friend.
"How about some eagles and lions instead?" Eris says as she stands alongside a whole group of eagles and lions that roars and ka's at the enemy. "Eris! Even better!" Laval said happily.
"We're outnumbered. When will our allies get here?!" Cragger asks Crawley. "Uh... they seem to have been delayed." That was all he said before Gragger let out a loud "WHAT?!".
Laval is freed from the croc's crutches and joins his fellow tribe and eagle allies while Cragger walks over to him, "This fight is a long way from over Laval! It doesn't matter how many warriors or legend beasts you bring! No one steals our chi and gets away with it!" he said before him and his men exit back to the swamp.
"What's he talking about Laval?" asked Leonidas. "Uh! Nothing! He's just a sore loser, don't listen to him." Laval told him nervously as Eris sways her head at him.
"What?" he whispers to her before addressing the others. "Warriors, we're strong and we are noble! We have beat the enemy back again! For Chima!" he cried out.
"FOR CHIMA!" the lions and eagles joined him.
Laval looks at the fog and sees the legend beast sitting down and watching, he looks at Laval with a sad face and softly growls. "Why didn't you come to help?" he asks as the beast walks away. "Is it because you wanted me to beat Cragger on my own? Or, because of what I did with the crocodile's chi...?
Suddenly, out of nowhere, everyone is surprised by a sudden earthquake that eventually stops. "WOAH! I HAVEN'T FELT AN EARTHQUAKE HERE IN YEARS! LAVAL!" Eris says as she walks over to Laval. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE CROCS CHI ANYWAY?" she asks, Laval just sighs while looking back to the fog, "and what are you looking at?!"
"Oh um, nothing. nothing at all." Laval says as he runs away from the group.
Meanwhile, back in the Crocodile Swamp's throne room, Cragger returns home, banging his side fist on a table with a map on it.
"Don't worry brother, the lions only have allies because they control the chi, for now." Crooler tells her brother in a fake tone of comfort. "You really think we can steal it all for ourselves?" Cragger asks her. "Yes. I have a feeling you're about to have another brilliant plan brother, and this time the lions will never know what hit them." She tells him, happily Cragger happily slams his side fist on the map again and looks up to the sky, chuckling.
Earlier that day, on the depts of the Gorge, a pair of crocodiles make their way through the dark corridors of their
new prison, wondering if they can even get out.
"Keep up honey, we can't get separated down here, there's no telling what could be down here." Crominus tells his wife as he moves in front of her, a makeshift torch providing their only light.
"I just don't know if we can make it. What if we never make it out, what will happen to our children." Crunket cries out in despair.
"They'll be fine, as long as he does listen to his sister, Cragger will make a fine job taking care of the kingdom until we return. You can't lose hope dear, that's how this place will get you!" he told his beloved.
"Wise words." cried a raspy voice from the darkness.
"Hello, who's there? SHOW YOURSELF!" cried the old crocodile king.
Suddenly a mysterious figure slithers out of the darkness. "Apologies, I didn't mean to frighten you." The figure said as he moved closer to the light.
The crocodile pair gasped at what they saw, in front of them lay a large violet serpent with bright green eyes.
"Allow me to introduce myself, the names Arcturus."
Author's Note:
Happy Valentines' day! I hope you are having a great day, sorry for the delay. I'll try to upload on time next time, but in order to do this I have a little question for you all. Should I cover every episode of season one and just add some serpentine moments or should I only cover the important ones to the overall story? Leave me a comment and review and thanks for your help!
