Outside the Lion Temple, chaos had overtaken the field. The sounds of explosions litter the area as two small figures desperately run for their lives. The final battle between the Serpentine had begun, and things weren't looking good for our heroes. As Pythor's army of snakes, rhinos, wolves, and ravens chase after Laval and Eris, shooting away indiscriminately.
Atop one of his tanks, Pythor looks over the field, slitted eyes carefully scanning his surroundings. Noticing just where they were heading, he calls out, "Don't let them reach the city!" he orders forcefully, as the driver picks up the pace.
Further ahead, Laval and Eris continued running towards the city. This wasn't just an act of desperation, but a plan, Laval figured that if most of the army was right behind him then no one was left to defend the city. No one to protect it, no one within its halls, no one but the civilians. Loath as he might to do it, Laval knew that the only way to survive this onslaught was to play by their rules. He knew they would never dare to fire at the city, not while civilians were inside. And it was for this reason, despite a weary heart, Laval headed towards the once familiar marble steps. Although this wasn't the only reason why he headed there, he had a plan, he just hoped he had a chance to do it. Laval ducked a blast and helped Eris by pulling her arm before they both screamed loudly as they were put to the ground by an explosion.
At the Lion Encampment's main tent, Lagravis once again sits by an empty Chi crate sighing miserably. Suddenly, the flap to the main room opens and a familiar figure rushes in. "Laval are you here!" the gravelly voice of Cragger yells as he walks inside. "Cragger? What are you doing here? I haven't seen you all day?" the old lion asks him, curiosity temporarily pulling him out of his funk. "Oh, hey Lagravis! I was just looking for Laval, I have great news!" he tells him eagerly. "I haven't seen him all afternoon. Tell me, what is this news you have to share?" he informs him sincerely as he walks up to him. "I got my tribe back! We have new allies against the snakes!" he exclaims happily. "This will definitely make up for my mistakes, I mean just think…" he continues saying as Lagravis stands there in shock, so caught up in his head that he missed what Cragger was saying. Noticing that Cragger was looking at him, he snapped out of it saying, "You got your tribe back! How? You said it was crawling with snakes last time!" he asks in bewilderment and awe. "It was, but after the whole falls thing, I figured I should try to get them out of there, but when I arrived at the swamps it was mostly empty, only some minor guards! I got rid of them and rallied my people towards our side! It was surprisingly easy." He informs him, as he retells the events. Still plagued with questions, Lagravis managed to say, "The Serpentine just left!?" as he stared at him confused. "Yeah? I guess Pythor is planning something, which is why I was looking for Laval!" he says in earnest. "He mentioned something about the snakes and the wolves teaming up. But without Mount Cavora, there's really no point to this," he says dejectedly, as he sighs until he finds the ground shaking. Leaving the tent, he looked at the horizon towards the Temple, smoke rising from above the canopy as explosions could be heard. With dread in his heart he muttered a single word, "Laval?"
Back outside the Lion Temple, a big cloud of dust surrounds both Eris and Laval, both coughing as they stand up to see Pythor's army getting closer. Laval looks behind them towards the forest and is surprised to see the lions come to the rescue by meeting Pythor's army on the battlefield. An instant open fire allows the two to escape, but a wolf manages to slip past the lion frontier and chase after them, Laval noticing it. Just in time, Gorzan saves them too by punching the truck all the way over their heads using his mech. As the wolf is sent howling while flying, he then crashes into the dirt as the beavers run to the broken truck. Laval and Eris shrug at each other happily before turning towards Gorzan. The gorilla tells them, "Dudes! Chi up!" as he passes them two orbs and gives them the rock n roll sign seeing them leave. Laval and Eris plugged their chi and powered up, carrying on towards the temple.
A blast comes from above that nearly hits them, Eris turns around to see who shot it. It was Rawzom, who was now crowing while he flew towards them. Eris goes to stop him by flying. Screeching while she grabs her axe, she easily hits the jet with a giant blow. Rawzom flies out before he crashes with the jet yelling, "Watch the merchandise!" as more beavers run to the broken jet. Eris smiles and looks back at Laval who finally gets to the top of the stairs. Not wasting time, he enacts his Hail Mary, he begins to meditate by pulling in the energy, before letting out a roar to all of Chima.
All throughout the land his roar was heard, and his allies were all quick to act. From the slowly restored Eagle Spires the eagles come to help with their jets. In the Gorilla Forest, the gorillas hooted while they unleashed their mech from the vines. Even in the Bear Village, his roar could be heard. Bladvic wakes up to ask, "You hear something?" before he sees all his tribe is still fast asleep snoring, so he goes back to sleep as well.
Outside the Lion Temple Pythor growls in annoyance, "I hate when he roars like that. It complicates EVERYTHING!" he says, as he recognizes it from his first attack on Chima. "Rhinos! Ravens! YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!" he orders his new allies. The ravens presumably go to battle the eagles, while the rhinos ride in front of Pythor's army not knowing what to do. "Uh... what to do? I uh... I guess I'll go help, Eris." Rogon says while the rhinos cheer and join to go help the enemy side. Fortunately, Pythor noticed in time to correct them, "NO!" he says loud enough to get their attention, "YOU RHINOS ARE SUPPOSED TO STOP THE GORILLAS BEFORE THEY GET HERE!" he reminds them harshly. Nodding in understanding, Runk and Rukus speak first, "Oh! Now he tells us." they say before the rhinos change their course and head for the forest, Rogon sparring one final look towards Eris before joining his tribe.
From atop the temple stairs, Laval watches the battle on the field and notices the rhinos going to the forest. He also sees the eagles and ravens screeching and crowing while they fight against each other. Furrowing his brow at all this devastation, suddenly something catches his eye. "Huh?" he exclaims as he sees ShadoWind approaching from the other side of the forest. "ShadoWind?! What's he doing here?" he asks while ShadoWind stops to watch as the lions are so far winning the main battle as a whole heap of enemy tanks are flying all over the place, the distant calls of the beavers echoing about the field. Pythor's army is screaming while running from the incoming lion army. But Pythor himself was undeterred, calling out to his troops he said, "Everyone... CHI UP! NOW!" as he held out an orb of his own. "BUT BOSS! THESE ARE OUR LAST ORBS!" Kapau'rai reminds him as he holds an orb warily. Looking down at him, Pythor confidently says, "Don't worry! Once we make it inside those walls, we'll seize ALL the chi in the temple!" before he plugs his chi and prepares to charge forward.
Once all of Pythor's army plugs their chi, the power spreads a giant cloud of dust everywhere. Still watching from above, Laval let out a worried, "Uh oh." As the army charges forward. With the power of chi surging through them, Cragger's army fires away at the lion tanks and sends them crashing all the way back into the temple walls, Eris falling down from the impact. The beavers run to a broken tank, their signature "FIX IT! FIX IT!" the only word heard over the chaos of the battlefield. With a startling, "Woah!" Laval falls thanks to the ground shaking, turning his head to watch the battle. The eagles come in shooting at Pythor's army, but when another wave of blasts hits the Lion City stairs, it creates another cloud of dust that spreads, blowing away the fleet while they screech.
Pythor saw this from the ground, a malicious grin plastered on his face, looking towards the temple he spots Laval before narrowing his eyes. "Let's finish this!" he proclaims as his army growls, wasting no time, he hops into a Blade-Copter and flies towards the temple. "CHARGE!" he yells out as he goes up the stairs and looks around the bridge. Suddenly, Laval roars and jumps at Pythor, tackling him off the blade-copter as they both go down. Losing control, the vehicle crashes near them, exploding slightly as the two warriors are pushed back by the blast. As they slowly rose back to awareness, Laval shook his head as he tried to clear his eyes. All around him he could hear the sounds of combat and feel the heat in the air. Focusing on his opponent, he could barely make out the long violet figure in the distance, until he heard him bark a command. "LOCK IT DOWN!" he said as one of his generals nodded, pulling the lever to close the lion head and bring in the bridge, going inside the temple right after. "You won't get away with this! Just give it up, Pythor!" Laval cried out as he warily got to his feet. With a malicious smirk, the Anacondrai responded, "Not until I control your real and all its chi!" he cackles madly. Enraged, Laval throws a nearby sword at the lever, getting it jammed inside to stop the closure.
Turning to look at the snake, Laval roars silently while he pulls out his own sword. Undeterred, Pythor smugly said, "You should be the one to give up, Laval. You can't win. Your eagles can't help you!" he said as Laval looked at the battle above, ravens crowing while they fought against the eagles. "And your gorillas will never make it here in time!" Pythor continues, as in the roads of Chima the gorillas are hooting while they march through, not knowing that up ahead hidden are the rhinos with a giant chain. They're spooked when that chain trips them all over and makes them pile up on each other. Runk and Rukus laugh as they hi-five each other with their stone axes. Suddenly, they're trapped under a mech when it comes falling, but they still laugh as they both exclaim, "Awesome."
Back at the Temple, Pythor carries on, "As for your lion tanks." He mentions as he gestures down below. Laval silently gasps when he sees tanks scattered everywhere broken, with all the lions regrouping, some even being hurt. The beavers run to a broken tank before stopping in confusion. "Fix it?..." they mumble softly, not knowing what to do. Taking his shot, the tricky snake lounges at Laval with a loud, "AH!" as he attacks but is dodged. However, Laval goes too far and nearly falls off the bridge. "Woah!" he exclaims at the near-death moment as the two continue to battle. Pythor hits Laval upwards to the blade-copter's rotor, ripping away some of Laval's cape, "Ah!... Sharp spinning things..." he says as he barely manages to get away, Pythor attacking him once more, only for it to be dodged again. As the battle escalated, Laval and Pythor chi up at the same time, as they clash their metal against each other.
Back on the battlefield, Cragger and his Crocs had just arrived, surveying the battlefield he quickly spotted a familiar figure. "Eris!" he yelled out as he ran over to her, the eagle in question helping a tired Lagravis move away from the frontlines. "Eris! Lagravis! What happened, where are the others?" he asked as he frantically looked around the field. "Delayed, from the looks of it!" Lagravis answered as he caught his breath. "They caught us off guard, they're so furious, so unrelenting. They fight with reckless abandon, and to make it worse, they have chi on their side!" Lagravis said angrily before he bucked over in exhaustion. "Take it easy, Sir," Eris said gently, as she stood the old lion on his feet, before turning to Cragger. "I'm glad you're here Cragger! We could really use a hand!" she says with relief, the wear of the battle clearly getting to her. "Right! Of course! Troops, onwards! Show those snakes what happens when they mess with the Crocodile Tribe!" he commanded as the massive army yelled out in excitement, driving towards the ass of snake vehicles before them. Turning back towards Eris, Cragger smiles before saying, "There! Now, where's Laval? If I know him, he's gonna need some help!' he asks confidently. "You're not wrong! Last time I saw him he was facing against Pythor on the bridge," she tells him with concern and slight exasperation. Shocked at this, Cragger exclaims, "Pythor! What are you waiting for, we have to go help him!" he yelled as he rushed towards the temple, leaving Eris behind.
Back at the temple, Laval just barely avoids Pythor's strike and prepares to throw one of his own. "AH! How long are we going to fight like this, Pythor?!" Laval demands as their weapons clash. "UNTIL I DESTROY YOU!" Pythor screams as he tries to slam his staff down but Laval dodges. Pythor then pushes Laval back with his shoulder, placing his staff right by Laval's neck to force him into the blade-copter's rotor. Laval gasps and starts screaming when the rest of his cape is ripped, when suddenly they both set eyes on the spear that's jammed in the lever. It gets forced out, allowing the lion head and bridge to continue closing. Laval and Pythor both scream as they lose balance for a minute when they both regain their balance Pythor is the first to strike. With a wicked smile, he says, "Hey! Have I shown you this move?" as he tries to hit Laval with his tail but misses. "Hah, is that all you got!" Laval replied confidently. Scowling a bit he comments, "Works the other way too!" as he tries again but misses. "One more time!" he says again. "Like I'm gonna fall for that," Laval says as he jumps up to dodge the tail but falls off the bridge and luckily holds onto the edge. "WOAH!" he says as he tries to pull himself up. "Now you're just gonna FALL! "Pythor says sadistically as he tries to hit Laval, but his spear is blocked. "STOP THIS, PYTHOR!" Laval cries out, trying to reason with the cold-blooded fiend. With another smug look, Pythor clashes his staff against Laval's sword. "You're right, Laval. We can't keep fighting like this, over and over! It must end sometime." he says threateningly, as he slithers towards the edge.
Fear sipping into his mind, Laval struggled to get up, his face full of distress as the mad snake got closer. Suddenly, Laval hears a voice calling out to him, "LAVAL!" he hears as he looks to the side and sees Cragger rushing towards him. Glancing at his old friend, Laval stops struggling and turns towards Pythor with a smile, "It will. Sooner than you think." Confused at this, Pythor looks behind him to see the lion head push him off the bridge while screaming, bringing Laval down with him. As the two fell towards the ground, Cragger let out a startling cry as he witnessed his friend fall. "LAVALLL!" he yelled as memories flashed before his eyes, he saw himself and Laval play fighting on a log, Cragger gaining victory by sticking his wooden sword in between Laval's arm, causing Laval to act dead. Cragger laughed back then, a contrast to the terror now plastered on his face, as he saw Laval still falling. He remembered as the two best friends jumped a ramp together and held hands for a second to symbolize their friendship. It was briefly replaced with a more recent memory, one of him slapping that same hand away in anger. He had been such a pain for so long, even if it was at the behest of another, he still did all those things, and the guilt was killing him. He had tried so hard to make amends for it, not just for himself, but for all he had hurt. Another flashback entered his mind, they had been on the Forever Rock, Laval, and Cragger chuckling while they sat next to each other, they gave each other a sudden mad face and played fight again, Cragger being pushed into the Forever Rock. The two friends shared a laugh, the memory soon passed, and a tear ran down his cheek. As Laval and Pythor continue screaming while falling, Laval suddenly stops to unexpectedly pull Pythor up so he can take the hit himself.
Laval's crown rolls away, smashing in half when hitting a rock, Cragger quickly breaks from his stopper as he rushes over to an unconscious Laval. Rolling the prone form of Pythor out of the way, he tries to wake his injured friend, "Laval? Laval! Stop messing around! Get up! LAVAL!" he yells as he tries to wake Laval. Fortunately, Laval wakes up, "Cragger!..." he says weakly as he smiles at his friend. Overjoyed, Cragger cries out, "Laval! You're alive!" as he brings him in for a hug. But Laval suddenly starts coughing, before he turns towards his friend saying, "I don't have much time..." Confused at this Cragger asks, "What are you talking about? And, why'd you break his fall like that? You could've really hurt yourself!" not understanding why he would risk so much for an enemy. Laval just holds Cragger's arm saying, "I did... but it was worth it to save... Chima..." when he runs out of chi and suddenly falls unconscious. "Laval! Stay with me! I-I messed up! but... but!... WE CAN FIX IT!" Cragger yells out, still blaming himself for the Serpentine's actions. But Laval just smiles before telling him, "It's not your fault. Take care of Chima for me. Old friend. And remember. There's always... Hope." Before he sighs away. Fear gripping his heart, Cragger calls out, "Laval?..." when he hears footsteps and turns around to see Lagravis and some lions coming his way.
"OVER HERE!" he yells as they rush towards them. Lagravis and the others gasp when they see Laval's body, unfortunately, Pythor isn't anywhere to be found. Eris soon joins them, gasping like the others before falling to her knees, tears in her eyes. Lagravis stares in disbelief, before saying, "No..." as he drops his sword and runs to Laval. "No!" he mourns as he picks up the unmoving form of his son, while the one responsible hides away and watches, uncertain how to feel at the situation before him. While Lagravis gives one more mournful, "NO!" as he holds Laval in his arm and screams in the pain only a father can feel. The heartbreak is so strong, that even Woriz holds his hand up to tell his wolves to stay back. Cragger picks up the broken piece of Laval's crown, seeing his best friend being carried away with Lagravis mourning his body. Cragger leaves to make things right.
A few minutes later, Woriz impatiently walks over to Chop'rai asking, "SO?! WHAT NOW?!" in an inpatient tone. Chop'rai merely scoffed and answered, "We wait for Pythor's orders. Said he had to check on something." Woriz looks at the temple, spotting the distant shape of Pythor staring out a window. Pythor's mind was in shambles, for the first time in a long time he was uncertain on what to do. "He risked his life for me. Why, I have been nothing but his enemy?!" he asked himself aloud as he began to pace around the room. "Could there really be peace among us?" he questioned before his eyes glowed red again. "WHAT AM I SAYING? We are Serpentine! It is our destiny to rule! IT IS MY DESTINY TO RULE! I will not let their foolish sentimentality get in my way, I must prepare to finish this once and for all. With all of this said, he narrowed his eyes as a wicked plan began to brew. "And I know the perfect way to finish this!" he said as he slithered towards the garage, a distant hissing clearly heard.
Back at the Lion Encampment, Cragger somberly makes his way towards Laval's room. He had just gotten there when he spotted Lagravis and the others leaving the room, their faces a blank mask. He couldn't even bring himself to speak, so he remained silent and made his way through the threshold. He walks in and gasps when he sees Laval's body covered up by his blanket. "No! It can't be... Laval?..." he says in disbelief, unable to speak till a few minutes later. When he finally did, all he could do was apologize, "Laval... I... I... I am so sorry! For everything! All you ever did was try to help me... again and again! And all I ever did was... well... let myself get controlled! I should have fought it; I should have done something! I should have gotten there sooner! You know, once I thought I needed power, chi, destiny, whatever! But all I ever really needed..." he fumbles as he places the crown somewhat back together on Laval's head, "was my best friend..." he finishes with a single tear.
Meanwhile, at dawn in the forest surrounding the Lion Temple, Lagravis gathered his troops. With great conviction in his voice, he declared, "We shall make them pay for what they did to my son. This enemy may think they have won!" he states as he gestures towards the battlefield. "They may have destroyed our tanks!" he says as the beavers are confused when they somehow can't fix a broken tank. "Foiled our eagle allies!" he mentions while pointing at the ravens crowing as they take down the last eagle jet. "And somehow stopped our gorilla friends!" he says, while in the forest the gorillas are stopped by being run over by boulders. "But we shall never surrender! We shall do this, for Laval! We shall fight with whatever we have left. A few orbs of chi, and our speedorz. Use it well! USE IT, WISELY!" he commands, showing an orb of chi. "FOR CHIMA!" the rest of the lions roar, as they plug the chi, and a giant dust of blue spreads around the whole temple.
On the other side of the field, Woriz prepares his troops, "Get ready. Here they come." He says as he prepares to meet them head-on. Lagravis's army, growling while they ride towards the enemy, charge undeterred as one by one, every one of them is shot down by the enemy's blasts except for, Lagravis. He merely roars at the enemy while continuing. Unfortunately, this was when Pythor and his Anacondrai made their presence known. Shedding their invisibility, they joined the attack in the dozens, all intent on pushing the incoming fighters back. "This ends NOW!" Pythor declared as he launched towards Lagravis. But the old lion was undeterred, matching his lunge he grappled with the incoming snake. As they both wrestled in a show of strength, Pythor mocked him, "I can feel your desperation! Smell your pain! Don't worry, you will join him soon enough!" he said as he spun and tried to trip him. A lass, Lagravis was ready for him, and backflipped out of the way, kicking Pythor in the face and showcasing an unexpected level of agility for his age. But Pythor should have known that you should never invoke a father's wrath!
As the two continued to fight, Lagravis managed to land a critical hit with his sword, slicing at his back. "Augh! That was a cheap shot! Fortunate for me, two can play that way!" he said as he cloaked once again. Lagravis was then assaulted by a barrage of invisible punches and hits, uselessly trying to defend against a foe he could not see. He dropped to a knee, clutching the dirt as he concentrated on his ears. He listened for the sounds of movement until suddenly he launched the pile of dirt in his paws directly onto Pythor's eyes. As he yelled from the discomfort, Lagravis grappled him towards the ground, rolling as they fought for an advantage. "Enough!" Pythor cried as he pushed him off him. "I have had enough of you and your kind. Prepare to be put back in your place, you PEST!" he screamed before bringing his hands towards his mouth in a whistle.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake, as everyone struggled to maintain balance. "Earthquake!" screamed a wolf from the field, before he was corrected by his leader. "No, this is much worse!" said Woriz as he pointed towards the temple. From the caverns bellow, a figure started to emerge, a large purple figure! The Anacondrai Serpent had awoken, and it was angry! Slithering towards his master, Pythor grins as he stands tall. "You wanted a legend beast Lagravis! How's this for a Legend Beast!" he exclaims as the mighty serpent roars.
Back in Laval's room, Cragger hears the fighting and looks at the smoke through the window. "No... This is not what was supposed to happen... Oh, Laval. I wish I could take it all back. Start over, help instead of hurt." he says as he walks over to Laval's bed. "I wish none of this had ever happened... I'd do anything, just to see you alive again! Come on, Laval. GET UP! You can't be dead. You can't!" he cries as he shakes the bed so much that the blanket falls off, the body underneath being not Laval's, but Sir Punch-A-Lot, Laval's trusty fighting dummy, with a note on it. "From Laval, to whom it may concern, I am not dead. What?! But how?! I saw you!" Cragger wonders as he reads the note out loud. He then has a flashback to their childhood, he, and Laval play fight once again and Laval fakes his death. "Hold on..." he mentions as realization hid him. "YOU LITTLE FAKER YOU!" he yells gladly as he keeps reading, "Sorry to be so dramatic, but it was the only way I could buy some time to do the one thing, that will bring peace to Chima. There is still hope." He finishes, feeling joy rushing through him. "OF COURSE, THERE'S HOPE!" he yells as he runs to the window, "If you're alive Laval, there's always hope! And here comes hope now."
With his hopes restored, Cragger goes towards the Temple in order to enact his plan. He had spent much of the afternoon thinking about it, but felt it was already too late, but now might just be his chance. Weaving and dodging out of sight, he began climbing up the walls of the Lion Temple throne room. Cragger sneaks in, slowly going past a COMPLETELY empty sacred pool to see that even if they broke in, it would've been for nothing, but that didn't matter. Remembering the layout of the palace, he headed towards the old blacksmith shop. He needed to buy Laval sometime, and he knew just how to do that. Making a sharp turn, he rounds a corner and finds what he's looking for.
Meanwhile, inside Reegull's new laboratory, the newest member of the Serpentine is having a discussion with the oldest. "Yes, I see. If we can perfect this formula our troubles will be over! Well done, young Reegull." Acidicus says, inspecting the former raven's newest project. Ever since he had been put in charge of him, Acidicus had developed a bond with the young alchemist. Reegull had proven to be a brilliant, if not eccentric, mind with the likes he hadn't seen before. His venture into artificial chi is a critical resource in the wake of recent events. The old snake understood more than anyone just how dangerous the darkness to come was, many of his men haven suffered wounds fighting against them, and without the power of the chi, he was unsure if they could survive. This made his work with Reegull extremely important, if they could find a way to create a substance that could amplify the strength of his men without any side effects, victory would be certainly theirs. "Thank you General Acidicus! I am truly honored that you think so highly of my work!" Reegull responds bashfully, not used to being complimented. "It is well worth it, with Pythor's ambitions…" he says harshly, "we have to find alternatives to ensure our survival." He explains simply, before putting a hand on his shoulder. "Just happy to help my tribe!" the young serpent said, tears forming in his eyes. "Very well, now if you excuse me, it seems my assistance will be needed soon. I shall leave the rest to you." Acidicus tells him before leaving the room. "You can count on me, Sir!" said an eager Reegull, happy to be of use. After so long, he finally belonged somewhere where he belonged, nothing could possibly ruin his day!
After seeing one of the generals leave the room, Cragger makes his move. Nearing the door, he knocks at the door. "Just a second!" he heard from the other side, along with the sound of shuffling and something hitting the floor. After a few seconds, the door opened, revealing the serpentine form of Reegull, "Yes, can I help you…." he began before he was swiftly punched in the face. Knocking him out, Cragger steps around him before saying, "Yes, you can!" as he makes his way deeper into the room. "There you are big guy! Come, it's time to end this thing!" he says as he approaches a familiar cage. Grabbing some keys from a nearby table, he opens the door, before a massive shape walks out, growly in content. Rushing out of the room, they step on poor Reegull on the way out, the poor serpent grunting with every step.
Back outside, Lagravis prepares to fight, reaching behind him he pulls out a flute. The Sacred Flute, Cragger had given it to him in case of emergencies, back when they first rode on to battle. He had neglected using it there, not this time. Putting it to his mouth he begins to play it, the melody pouring out as if he had practiced it his whole life. As both Pythor and the serpent buckled over in pain, Lagravis made his move. He dodges a strike from the massive serpent, using his chi-enhanced agility to make it back to his speedor. Turning it one, he grabs a nearby spear and proceeds to charge at the serpent. Weaving around the mighty beast, he jabs it with the spear, doing little more than irritating the giant. The snake struck at him again, but he dodged it again, turning in a circle towards the creature's tail. The serpent snaps at him vigorously, ferociously trying to engulf him, but he is faster and wiser. Weaving out of the way at the last second, he managed to get the snake to bite his own tail, leaving it stuck in one place. Capitalizing on the opportunity, he jumps towards its head, spear at the ready for a final strike.
However, at that very moment, Woriz shoots him down, the flute falling towards his feet. Walking towards him, he steps on it before exclaiming, "It's hopeless. You've lost!" But Lagravis refused to surrender claiming, "This isn't over yet! Help is on the way!" Woriz laughs, "HA! You mean them?" he says as he points over to the rhinos, gorillas, and even the bears come falling out of the forest, "Or them?" as he gestures at the ravens crowing as they fight against the eagles. "Face it, no tribe is coming to the rescue this time, Lagravis.", he says with a grin. "Who said anything about a... tribe?" Lagravis replies, a knowing smirk on his face. Looking at him in both irritation and confusion, Woriz scowls before telling him, "I'll be quiet until the others get back. Then we'll figure out just how mean we should be to you." he finishes with a chuckle. Suddenly he hears a voice from behind saying, "I got an even better idea! Why don't we let them all go?" Caught off guard, Woriz states, "Huh?! But that's not mean!" before someone leaped on him. Falling to the ground from the sudden attack, he looks up to see Cragger looking down at him saying, "No! It's not." Before a loud roar caught his attention, as the serpent crashed next to him and was dragged away by something. Looking to his side he witnesses an impossibly muscular Croc grappling with the serpent, jumping, and punching it in the face and body, as the giant animal tries to bite it. "No! It can't be!" Pythor suddenly cries, as he sees the escaped prisoner beating his precious serpent. With a mighty bellow, the croc grabs Pythor by his long neck before tossing him out into the battlefield. "Who is that!" asks Woriz, in awe and terror. "That is my good buddy Crunch!" Cragger answers with a smile, as the mutated crocodile looks at him with a smile of his own before a blast hits him from behind.
Quickly surrounding them, an army of Anacondrai appears, blades and spears at the ready. They were soon joined by the remaining Serpentine, each led by their generals. Stepping between them, a scuffed-up Pythor slithers closer, a furious grin on his face, "You had a good run, but know it's time for it to end!" But before he can do anything, a loud roar sounds from the forest. Looking towards it, they see a figure approaching, the dust concealing their appearance. From across the battlefield, a baffled Crug asks, "Woah! Is that?" before Crawley joins, saying, "And that roar, it sounded like, Laval. But I thought he was dead." As everyone gasps, Woriz demands, "HOLY MOTHER TOOTH! WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND HERE?!" Turning to look at them, Lagravis responds, "Isn't it obvious? Laval faked his own death, so he could sneak off to get our legend beast! All we had to do was keep you busy until he returned with, our lion beast!" he says triumphantly. "Who said this legend beast was a lion?" Cragger asks smugly before he runs to Laval. Leaving a confused Lagravis to wonder, "Huh?"
Meanwhile, the legend beast breathes while it comes out of the dust with Laval and one other, revealing himself for all to see. "The crocodile legend beast? But... but... who's on there with Laval?" Lagravis asks in confusion. And he's not the only, as Cragger gasps with a, "Huh?" as Queen Crunket reveals herself. "MUM?!" he exclaims as the rest of the crocodile tribe kneels. "Queen Crunket! But we saw her fall into the gorge of eternal depth." Lagravis says perplexed. "Guess that gorge isn't as eternal as we thought," Laval says as he helps Queen Crunket down. Overwhelmed Cragger cried out, "MUM!" as he ran to his mother. Looking at them happily, Laval says, "Like I said, Cragger." he begins before Cragger continues. "There's always hope!" he says as he hugs Queen Crunket and starts crying. Everyone stops fighting and walks around the main characters, the crocodile legend beast letting out a soft bellow when she's petted by Gorzan.
Still in shock, Crunket asks in disbelief, "Cragger... Is it really you?" as she holds him gently. "Oh, mummy! I missed you so much!" Cragger said, overwhelmed with happiness as he stood up. "Laval! thank you, thank you, thank you! for not just being alive, but for saving my mummy! I mean mother. But how'd you find her?" he asks, a slight embarrassment in his voice. Looking him in the eye, he replies, "Our old friend ShadoWind pointed me in the right direction." he recounts how he and ShadoWind find the beast trapped in the Outlands by webs. They get it out by a rope, with Queen Crunket unconscious on its back. "The beast was in some kind of trap on the edge of the Outlands! It wanted to come to us, but something out there was holding it back! That's when we found your mother, and someone else." he informs them, remembering how he had gasped when he saw it. "Then... ShadoWind spoke the only two words I ever heard him say." he told them, recalling how ShadoWind points at Mount Cavora saying, "For Chima!" before he rides away.
Snapping away from his memories, Laval continues, "The beast carried us here, from the edge of the Outlands." he finishes his story, as Queen Crunket speaks up. "There's evil out there, Cragger. Bad tribes and black clouds, they want to steal all our chi." She warns dramatically. Causing Woriz to look at Mount Cavora before retorting, "A little late for that!" But Crunket informs them, "No. They haven't taken it all. They've only blocked the chi falls, but they'll be back for the rest. And the legend beasts can't help us. These tribes have trapped them!" she reveals, causing all present to cry out in surprise.
"WHAT?! THE LEGEND BEASTS! CAPTURED?!" Laval asks in complete shock, having believed that the Croc had been their first attempt. Solemnly, Crunket answers, "Yes. We must band together to save the beasts and defeat this menace. And hopefully... Free king Crominus too." she tells them, revealing the king's fate. Cragger was the first to respond, "My father?! HE'S ALIVE?! But... the gorge! How'd you survive? How'd you ever escape?!..." he wondered. Understanding his confusion, Crunket explained as best she could, "The gorge has its own special gravity. It broke our fall. And there are caves down there that lead to the Outlands. This is where the tribes of the black cloud are now. You must defeat them. Or Chima shall be doomed." she explains full of dread.
"She speaks the truth!" another figure says from behind them, limping through the dust towards them. "Who's that!?" Cragger asks as the figure approaches, revealing a green-eyed Anacondrai, with chipped armor and deep scars. "ARCTURUS!" the generals replaid in unison. "But how? We throwed you down the… the GORGE!" Skalidor asked before realization seeped in. "Precisely, I survived all those years, scouting away out of those infernal caverns, until I came open them!" he gestures at Queen Crunket, who looks down at the mention of her husband. "I helped them navigate the caves, I witness the dark tribe's birth and have fought theme to protect you all!" he says with sincerity. "But they proved far too resourceful. I came to realize that only together do we hold a chance! So, I help them escape, fought alongside this "Shadowind" all the way to the border, and remained there to hold them off, before following them here." he says solemnly. "I have been through much, only to come for but one request. "PLEASE, TRIBES OF CHIMA, SERPENTINE, ONE AND ALL! HELP ME! Help me save our home! Save our future, before it is too late." He says with finality, as he bows before them.
Everyone is speechless, everyone except Pythor! "THIS CHANGES NOTTING!" he cries out as he raises his weapon towards them. The Anacondrai serpent rises with a hiss before the crocodile beast rushes forward with a bellow. The serpent hisses undeterred, before the crocodile roars and snaps his massive jaws at it, growling savagely at the intrusive snake. The serpent moves back, apprehensive at the defending beast. "ENOUGH!" a loud booming voice commanded, as Arcturus stood tall. "I see words are still not enough for you, so I shall handle this the old-fashioned way." He says moving forward. "Pythor P. Chumsworth, I challenge you for ownership of the Anacondrai staff!" he proclaims with a booming voice as he stares at him with intensity. "Hah, don't make me laugh! I defeated you before old man and now I am even stronger!" he spats at him with confidence. "Then this should be over quickly then!" Arcturus says smugly, calling him out. Taking the bait, Pythor accepts, "Very well, it is time for a slither pit!"
As the tribes begin to gather, the two Anacondrai incircle one another. Pythor taking the time to mock his opponent says, "Only one can remain!" as he launches for the first strike. But Arcturus spins and tail slaps him towards the ground, "Sloppy!" He then tries to return the favor from the floor, only for Arcturus to grab his tail firmly and those him away, "Predictable!" As he falls a few feet away, Pythor snarls before pulling a small dagger and launches for him again. This time Arcturus dodges out of the way with every strike that Pythor tries, before catching his arm and pressing it against his back. "Dishonorable!" he spats on his ear, before shaking his way. "I see you have not changed! Pity, I had such hopes for you!" he says sadly. "SHUT UP!" he yells with an explosive surge of energy, "YOU HAVE GIVEN ME NOTHING! YOU ET US INTO EXILE, YOU LET US TO DEFEAT, YOU HAVE MADE US WEAK!" he yells viscerally as he tries to hit him. "I kept us all safe! I protected you all to the best of my abilities, always thinking in OUR best interest. That is the difference between you and me, Pythor." he says as he headbutts him. "You are selfish, short-sighted, never willing to see the bigger picture, never willing to compromise, never willing to learn from your mistakes!" he says as he dodges out of the way. "You are stagnant and vengeful! You don't learn! And you're too distrusting to let anyone watch your back!" he mentions before turning invisible, weaving behind his opponent, and hitting him hard in his back. Hitting the slash, he had previously gotten that day, the very injury he had forgotten to watch out for. "That was, a dirty move." He says from the ground, struggling to get up. "I learned it from you!" Arcturus says coldly before standing atop him.
As the ground cheered, he grabbed the staff and held it up high. "ALL HAIL KING ARCTURUS!" the Serpentine cheered at their new leader. "No! I am no king, I never was, and I should never be. This division of power, this mentality that we have had for so long has driven us apart. I will not rule above you; I shall rule alongside you. The era of the five tribes is over. From now on we are but one! One tribe ruled together, as a council!" he declares as he offers his staff to the other generals. They were all speechless, before Skales moved forwards, touching his staff with his. Acidicus followed, doing the same, the others not far behind. As all the staffs were united, they all called out, "TOGETHER!" Unbeknownst to them, the venom dripped from their scepters, joining together in the shape of a serpent before sinking into the ground with a glow.
All around them, the other tribes of Chima approached, Arcturus turning towards Lagravis with a hand outstretched in friendship. Looking at him, Lagravis smiles before taking the hand with his own saying, "Together!" As the other leaders approached, Skales asked the obvious question, "So, what do we do about him!" as he pointed to the downed form of Pythor. Narrowing his eyes, Arcturus proclaims, "He has long underestimated the darkness we face! Let him meet it head-on! Throw him down the deepest depth of the gorge and let destiny decide his faith!" With that, Chope and Kapau grabbed his arms and dragged him away, "Unhand me you simpletons, UNHEAD ME YOU HEAR! THIS WILL NOT BE THE LAST YOU SEE OF ME! I. ! EVEN IF I HAVE TO BURN THE WORLD DOWN I WIL HAVE MY REVENGE!" he cried to the heavens as he was taken away.
After watching the disposed tyrant get taken away, someone decides to break the silence. "Now what!" Laval asks as he approaches them. Arcturus answered, "Now young one, we prepare!" he says intensely.
"We prepare to enter the OUTLANDS!
