In the silent halls of the Lion Temple throne room, Lagrarvis sits in contemplation, thinking of the events that had transpired. He had many things to think about, many good, but also many bad. He was glad to have recovered his home, the serpentine still roaming his halls no longer enemies but allies.
But a pit opened on his core, for with this victory came a great loss. For a black cloud had come upon them and change was coming on the horizon. Friends new and old now prepared to march forward, hoping to fix the coming calamity.
"Chima grows weaker. The land withers. Mount Cavora, a lifeless rock. Waterfalls that once filled our temples with the power of chi, flow no more." he spoke with sorrow as 8 heroes approach. "It all began with this, a terrible accident at the Gorge of eternal depth." He continues as he remembers the terrible events of that day. "Best friends became worst enemies. Crocs against lions. Eagles against ravens. And wolves, against just about everyone." he said with a knowing tone.
"Hey! We helped, didn't we?" Woriz said in outrage, while everyone but Lagravis glared at him. "While a slithering darkness reared its fangs, the Serpentine attacked without warning, taking all that they could. Nature became unbalanced. And just when it seemed, things could not get any worse, the black cloud appeared, strangling our blessed mountain. The sacred pool, once overflowed with orbs of chi, the source of all life and power in Chima. Now, it holds only echoes, a longing cry for salvation." he finished with sorrow.
"The mighty legend beasts, they can restart the falls of Mount Cavora, and save Chima. But so far, only one of our saviours have found its way home." Lagravis explained gravely, knowing how bad the odds were in their favor.
"Bummer!" cried Gorzan gloomily. "You can say that again." Eris reiterated, knowing the severity of it all. "Bum-" he began before Laval jumped in. "Look! Some see an empty pool here, but I see the very best of Chima!" he said with confidence.
"Huh? Seriously?!" both Gorzan and Cragger said, bewildered by the statement.
Laval smiled proudly, as continued with his rousing speech, "I see eight heroes, who were once worst enemies, are now best friends again! I see honor and strength!" he said as he ran to the outside pulling out his sword, all the others doing the same, "Cooperation and respect! I see the power of boundless hope! I see... the legends of Chima!" he stated with resolute, staring at the horizon.
The next day, at Chima's borders, Laval led the expedition at the spot where he had found both Queen Crunket and the Crocodile Beast. "This is where we found them," he said as he pointed to the spot on the other side of the river.
Queen Crunket herself stepped forward, confirming the statement, "Yes. I don't remember everything, but this tragedy taught me two very important things." She begins to say as she remembers the faithful day, as both she and Crominus fall from the giant crocodile tank into the grounds of the gorge.
"One. That the gorge of eternal depth is not eternal." remembering the shock and fear she had experienced when they stepped out into the caverns. "And two. We are not alone," she said forebodingly, remembering as she and Crominus were welcomed by bats, spiders, and scorpions, crawling all over the caves.
"The gorge and its caves held many mysteries, but we were unafraid. We searched endlessly for an exit. Until we were met by an unexpected friend." She said as Arcturus joined her amongst the other heroes, her mind remembering the day they had met. The new lord of the Anacondrai slithered to her side, his scales shining a more vibrant shade of violet, as his green eyes looked upon her with joy. "And I am glad you did, my friend," he said somberly, as he too remembered the trials they had been through.
"The cave always challenged us as if it had a mind of its own." recalling the many rockslides and how hopeless trying to move them had been, often hitting their toes in the process. "It seemed like we would never escape that cursed cave. Then one day, a miracle happened!" she explained in awe, remembering the faithful moment. "Chi rained down from above!" she explained, recalling how the couple went after the orbs as they rolled down the cave.
"Chi in the Gorge of Eternal Depth! I wonder how THAT happened." Cragger said sarcastically, eyes glaring at Laval. "Hey!... Uh... Your mother called it a "miracle", right?" Laval said with a nervous grin. "Yes. A miracle that may destroy us all." Crunket said forebodingly. Memories of how she, Crominus, and Arcturus chased after the chi and managed to get an orb, only to scream as they saw a scorpion wrapped itself around the orb, rolling away with it before something happened.
"We never recovered any of those orbs of chi. We knew we were not alone, but now... We were very, very afraid!" she continued, her voice completely serious. Remembering laying witness as the spiders, bats, and scorpions use the chi to evolve, just like how all the tribes in Chima evolved all those centuries ago. She had gasped at the sight of the newly evolved creatures, barely believing what she was seeing.
"The Chi made them bigger! stronger! smarter! and they only wanted one thing... MORE CHI!" she could remember the raspy voice of the scorpion as it inched closer to him. They had tried to run away, but they were trapped and taken outside. "King Crominus showed them the source of chi, Mount Cavora. But only so they would take us to the surface, where we could escape." She explained, remembering Crominus pointing at Mount Cavora, the sight being so marvelous that it paralyzed the enemy.
"We heard them plotting to block up the falls and steal all our chi. So, we ran for our lives, and only then did we realize... We were in the middle of the Outlands." She told them, vividly remembering how they used their tails to escape. The Bats, Scorpions, and Spiders growled while they chased after them, trying to stop them.
"But these new tribes had powers we'd never dreamed of." the memory of the bats turning into the black cloud and swarming the crocodile couple, while the lone Anacondrai tried hopelessly to swing them away was still vivid in her mind.
"The next thing I knew, I was on the crocodile legend beast. A stranger in a strange helmet whispering softly in my ear." She retold, a small smile forming, though she did not know why.
Getting back on topic, she continued, "These new tribes, they captured the legend beasts. They plan to steal all our chi! And want nothing to get in their way." she warned them coldly, remembering the hooting, roaring, and panting of the legend beast as they were chased by the bats and eventually caught when they chose to fight.
"That's too bad. Cause "getting in their way" is our specialty." Laval said proudly, driving everyone's attention back to the present. Spirit reignited, and the young heroes cheered confidently before Eris brought something to everyone's attention. "Great. But, did anyone see, Rogon?" she asked, noticing the rhinos absent. They were all a bit shocked when the earth began to shake, thanks to Rogon driving over a giant rhino truck.
"Rogon! I thought we said we were traveling light! To survive in the Outlands, we have to be small and quick! Like ShadoWind!" Laval complained, momentarily getting distracted by the thought of his hero, before snapping out of it. "Whatchu mean? I am traveling light." Rogon reassured him, confused.
"I think it's great to have at least one big support vehicle, filled with all the stuff we need," Eris said, for once believing the rhino had a good idea. "Thanks, Eris!" Rogon said, staring at her in admiration, not that she noticed. "Well... okay. As long as it only carries, essential supplies." Laval warned him, taking this mission with the utmost seriousness. "Of course, Laval. I'm only taking my most important stuff." He reassured him, content with this Laval walked away.
Laval hops on his speedor, with Lagravis by his side, "Here's something important for you, Laval." he says before giving him a bag of chi and a shield. "Thanks, Dad. We'll use 'em well, and use 'em wisely." Laval thanks him, repeating his usual phrase with pride. "Just make it home safely," Lagravis tells him lovingly before they hug each other goodbye. "I will." He says before getting back to his speedor, "And I'll bring those other legend beasts with me." he tells him reassuringly.
Close by Cragger hops on his legend beast's back, struggling to find his balance. His mother walks up behind him, handing him a bow before saying, "This belonged to your father, you'll need it out there. Just find your father Cragger, please..." she pleads, the worry clear on her face. "I won't let you down!" Cragger reassures her, offering her a loving smile. "Yes, brother. Good luck." The unexpected voice of Crooler says to his side. "Crooler? what are you doing here?!" he asks in disbelief. "I released her from the dungeons." his mother explains, noting his bewilderment.
"But she! -" "I know." "And then she tried too!" "Yes! I'm sure she did. But she's still my daughter and your sister." Crunket reassures him, knowing well her daughter's faults. "Yeah, well... whatever you do. Don't listen to her!" he said sternly, though secretly he was glad to see his sister again, giving them a small smile before crawling away. "I see you've learned your lesson, well son." She said, giving Crooler a knowing look, while she only chuckled in amusement.
Arcturus then slithered his way over to Laval, "You will need this!" he said as he handed him a bag full of jars. "They contain a special toxin created by the Venomari, they should help you with your troubles. He explained as Laval pulled out one of the jars to inspect it. "I wish you could have taken the tunnel the Contrictai excavated through the land, but with the Crawler's presence I fear they might no longer be safe." he told them regretfully.
"I have ordered my soldiers to keep watch over them from this side, to be safe. Still, should you require a quick escape, this may also be of help." He told him, before gesturing to one of the Constrictai scouts that had accompanied him. The short serpent handed him a map of all the tunnel systems they had made turning their time in the Outlands.
"Thank you, Arcturus. This will come in handy!" Laval told him happily, earning a smile from the old snake. "I wish I could accompany you, but my people need to reorganize themselves before we can go waltzing out to war," he explained regretfully.
"We understand, you've done more than enough!" Laval told him truthfully, just happy with the help he had provided. "Once you make it to the other side, try to find our old fortress! They may still be weapons you can use in your battles!" the old general told them as the 8 heroes headed for the Outlands, being waved goodbye by everyone, even Crooler!
Taking the lead, Laval tells them, "Hold your breath, everyone!" as he throws a can at the predator plants, who hiss as the chemicals inside begin taking effect. The plants let out a cacophony of coughs as the fumes rise towards them. This allows the heroes to get through the opening, but the journey has only just begun.
The predator plants growl while they try to chomp at the heroes, Laval roaring as he throws another can at the second wave of plants, allowing them to get past. "For the legend beasts!" he yelled as he charged forward. "FOR MY FATHER!" Cragger yells as he shoots arrows at the predator plants.
But this only serves to enrage the predator plants, roaring and chomping away at the heroes more aggressively as the fumes die down. "Careful. Our secret weapon's losing its punch!" Laval cries out a warning as he weaves around the snapping jaws. Cragger flips over a plant and lands back on the crocodile legend beast, avoiding getting ensnared by the carnivorous vegetation.
Eris is not as lucky and gets a little trapped, the plants roaring as they try to eat her. Eris screams in fear, "More venom vials, please!" she demands as she struggles to escape. Heading her call, Laval retorts, "Coming right…" he begins before his bag is stolen by the plants. "AH!" he gasps, pulling up when he sees he is heading for a dead end!
Now they're all forced to fight the predator plants, with Eris finally getting caught by the predator plant's vine. "AH!' she screams in a panic as she tries to fight back. Woriz lets loose, hacking and slashing at the surrounding flora, but ultimately is also grabbed by a vine. Bladvic snores while the plants try to eat him, eventually one managing to get him inside its mouth.
"Let me handle this!" Cragger said as he shot arrows at the plants, "These plants don't bother the legend beasts!" he informed them as he marched onwards. Suddenly, the predator plants roar at Laval and shoot from his mouth some spikes, Laval blocks them with his shield.
Meanwhile, the kindhearted Gorzan pets a predator plant, and his mech-sized hand ends up inside the plant's mouth. "Oh, hello pretty little flower. Aww, what a sweet kiss." He said not knowing any better, petting the plant with his other hand. "I love you too pretty plant." He said, not realizing the danger he was in.
Woriz manages to escape from his capture, only to be met by an unexpected sight, "Huh?" he uttered as he saw a predator plant start growing even bigger. "Will you stop that?!" he yelled as he hopped on a vine above but was whipped back down. With no other options left, those on speedorz retreat.
"COME ON! LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" Cragger yells out, rallying the others to him as they drive on. "Where's, Bladvic?!" Laval asks in a panic, not seeing the slumbering bear anywhere. Bladvic meanwhile, is snoring inside the plant's mouth, seemingly unfazed by the going on around him. Laval for his part, lets out rapid attacks on the plants surrounding him.
Seeing that he was being overwhelmed, Eris went to help, LAVAL!" she yelled out, alerting him just in time. He jumps up to Gorzan's mech and clears away all the plants. "Come on! it's not safe here!" he tells the wayward gorilla. "But dude, they're giving me such sweet hugs!" Gorzan says innocently, still not realizing the severity of the situation.
"NO! THEY'RE TRYING TO EAT YOU!" Laval yells out at him, growling while attacking. "Bummer...", was all Gorzan could say, finally realizing what he'd gotten himself in. With a harsh groan, Laval tried to push back against the encroaching plants to no avail.
Fortunately, Rogon's truck came driving in, and as he dropped the door it flattened some plants. "Hey!" he tells them before they both get inside the truck. "Dude," Gorzan says in gratitude to his savior. "Bro," Rogon responds, fist-pumping Gorzan in return. "Yeah! Thanks, Rogon! But... Who's actually up front driving this truck?" Laval asks, grateful but also concerned with the situation. "Huh? What do you mean? I thought I was driving it." Rogon answers back confused. "But you're back here..." Laval says deadpan, fearing the worst. "Oh yeah. That's a good question, let me go check." Rogon says nonchalantly before he goes to look, climbing through A LOT of rocks to get to the driver's seat.
"Rogon! I thought you were only bringing essential supplies!" Laval cries out in exasperation. "These ARE essential!" the rhino responds resolutely, much to Laval's chagrin. "IT'S A TRUCK FULL OF ROCKS!' he yells out, absolutely baffled by the rhino's antics, and in complete disbelieve over the disregard for the importance of this mission. "Well, maybe to you! but to me! that's Rocky, and Stone, and Slab, and Flint!
Laval didn't know how to respond, Rogon was a good friend, but he was far from the easiest to deal with. "Rogon. I know you're attached to your... pals. But there are rocks all over the Outlands!" he tried to explain, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "There are? Then I'm gonna need some room for 'em. Help me give my friends here some fresh air." Rogon said in a hurry, eagerly moving his "friends" out of the way. The truck itself shakes and Rogon falls off the rocks because of the predator plants beating their heads against it from the outside. To make them quit it, Rogon opens the door to let some of the rocks roll outside and squash the persuader plants.
Gorzan and Laval scream while they go against the plants, as Rogon uses the wheels to send all the rocks flying toward the predator plants. "Great driving, Rogon!" Laval complements his friend on the truck. Only for him to appear right beside him saying "Thank you." as if nothing was wrong, leaving Laval baffled at what had just gone on. Walking over to his stunned friend, "Found your venom jars dude!" he tells him as he returns the bag. "Yes!" yells Laval, happy that things appeared to be going their way.
Gorzan stands up with his mech as Laval throws the last two cans at the predator plants, who begin coughing in response. Just as Bladvic is let out of the plant's mouth and onto his speedor. Waking up and driving away instantly. "Oh wow. I had the weirdest dream." was all he told them as they went through the fog of toxins and eventually escaped the man-eating predator plants.
Narrowly escaping, the eight heroes regroup on a mountain filled with spider webs everywhere. "No plants here, we should be safe," Laval tells them hopefully, the exhaustion getting to him. Cragger tests the web's stickiness by putting Crominus's bow inside it and has a tiny bit of trouble trying to pull it out. "Safe is a very relative turn here in the Outlands." Worriz reminds them, warily looking around.
As if on cue, the black cloud appears and suddenly attacks the heroes. "First the plants, now the cloud?!" Cragger cried out indignantly as the Bats screeched while battling the heroes. Eris takes out a few, while Laval takes out another few before he's taken to the sky by a flying machine with himself grasped onto by the machine's mouth claws. "Hey!" he cries out in annoyance, as he throws up his shield, it ricochets and comes back hitting the bat driving in the head which allows Laval to escape. "Woah!" he says screaming while he hits two bats while falling.
Fortunately, Eris takes notice and flies towards him. "AH!" she cries as she saves him with a screech. Taking him safely to the ground, Laval growls while he gets back into the action. Woriz is held onto by the enemy, but Cragger, held onto by the legend beast, holds onto him. "Too... many... sky demons!" he says as he struggles to keep hold of the wolf. Gorzan tries to hit away the bats surrounding him, Rogon launching up a giant rock from his catapult to the machine holding onto Woriz, setting the wolf free.
Seeing the situation they had gotten themselves into, Laval turned to his friends and asked, "Okay, we're a team now! We need to make team decisions. Do we stay and fight, the ENTIRE cloud?! or..."
"RUN AWAY!" they scream in unison as all eight heroes ride away, trying to escape the screeching bats chasing after them. In the commotion, one of the bats makes a break for Eris, "Huh?" she said in response before she hit away the bats when they attacked her. "THIS WAY!" Laval shouts, leading everyone in one direction of the Outlands as the bats continue screeching while chasing after them.
They managed to spot a cave entrance and quickly made a beeline towards it. Entering the cave, Rogon blocked the way of some of the bats by slamming his giant truck into the entrance. Proceeding to then ride away with his motorcycle, Rogon joins the others as the still screeching bats enter the cave through a small opening. Riding deeper into the caves, the heroes dodged the incoming bats, before Laval noticed something peculiar.
"This seems REALLY familiar!" he said, starting to notice a pattern in the layout of the caverns. "I know! It's like a speedor track in Chima!" Eris exclaimed as she too noticed. "LUCKY FOR US! BUT NOT FOR THEM!" Woriz replied with glee, as the two groups of the heroes go different ways to the outside.
A group of bats go after Woriz but they lose focus on what's in front of them and crash into something, much to the wolf's amusement. Another group of bats chases after Laval through multiple swinging boulders, some of them getting hit in the process. Letting out an excited, "Woo!" Laval continues on his way. At the same time, Bladvic continues snoring while he's chased, zigzagging through some rock pillars, with most of the bats having crashed. Meanwhile, Cragger lets his legend beast do the "going" while he shoots the bats down with his arrows. The beast jumps on giant pedestals in the water, roaring while Cragger jumps up from the beast's snout and they both get back onto land.
Finally, without any bats following, the heroes find each other going the same way but see that they're coming up to a dead end of a pile of rocks. "Oh no!" Laval says in a panic as they all stop and face the bats. They let out a malicious screech while flying towards the heroes.
Laval, Eris, and Cragger get ready for battle, while the rest come to terms with their fate. "Well, my friends, the bad news is... we are trapped. The good news is, I am running a once-in-a-lifetime sale on white surrender flags." Razar said defeatedly, while he showed multiple white flags. "What are you even doing with those?!" Woriz asks him, confused at the raven's antics.
When the pile of rocks suddenly shakes and Rogon barges through the top layer of rocks. "ROCK ON!" he cries out as the rocks hit all the bats. "Dude, sweet ride." Gorzan complements as he stares at the bike in awe. "Bro. It's my rocking rolling Rogon roller, and it rocks!" exclaims Rogon as the two buddies share a laugh. Grateful for the rhino's help Laval walks up to him saying, "Thanks, Rogon! I don't know how you found us, or where you came from-"
"I just hung a turn, right by that little house over there." Rogon interrupted to say as if there was nothing strange with the statement. Confused and intrigued, Cragger was the first to voice what all were thinking, "What little house?!"
Rogon leads them all to a big house, and instantly they go to have a look. "Wow! Looks like it was built by someone from Chima!" Laval exclaimed in amazement, noting the marble stone pillars and gold plating. "But who'd be living way out here?!" Cragger asked, voicing what they were all thinking before a giant claw trap caught them all and raised them above ground. "SOMEONE WHO LIKES HIS HOME SECURITY!" Woriz cries out, struggling against the restraints.
Suddenly, the door of the house opens, and a strange figure covered in shadow appears. They all gasped as the figure got closer and spoke to them, "Intruders. You shall suffer!" the figure growled before revealing himself to be a brown-skinned lion, holding cupcakes. "Because I didn't make enough cupcakes for everyone!" he says jovially, nearing the cupcake tray towards them, a smile on his face.
"HUH?!" they all said in confusion, unable to broses what was happening before them. "I think a warning will be nice the next time you bring over guests, Crocky!" he says to the crocodile legend beast, who lets out a silent growl before he's fed all the cupcakes, burping it out. "The legend beast likes cupcakes?!" Cragger asked in utter bafflement, unsure how to react to that information. "Oh! I sure do! Yum." Bladvic adds, speaking for the first time they had been there.
The unknown lion began chuckling, "Folks around here don't usually make it down my... Driveway." he told them in amusement. "You mean that insane gauntlet?" Eris corrected him, hardly believing something like THAT could be called a mere driveway. "Yeah. I've got some issues with my... Neighbours. You know the ones." he says as he proceeds to imitate the bats by hissing and screaming, with a little bit of a mad personality. "Is it just me or is he a bit strange?" Cragger whispers to Laval, unsettled by the strange lion currently screaming like a madman. Tired of the situation, Laval spoke up to their new "host".
"Look! Let us out now! we're on an important mission that'll determine the fate of- wooahh!" Laval tries to explain before they are dropped, screaming and grunting as they're let out. Laughing at their sudden drop, the lion replied, "The fate of WOAH! I'm glad someone's watching out for that." Before he goes back to his house. "Well, you "heroes" best get inside before, you know what finds you! Come on!" he says, invading them inside.
The group hesitated, unsure of their next move, "I don't know about this, guys!" Cragger told them, wary of the stranger. "Yeah, but we've been fighting and running since we hit the Outlands. We could all use a break." Eris objects, cautious but also acknowledging just how tired they are. They turn to Laval for a decision, and considering both of his friend's words, he comes to a decision. "Okay. We'll go in, but just stay TOGETHER!" he tells the group as they all enter the house.
Inside the stranger's house, the team was awestruck at the layout of the base. "Woah! Look at this place!" Eris spoke first, noting how large the fortress truly was. "Check out that armor!" Woriz exclaimed, the ruthless warrior admiring its make. "And these rocks." Rogon added in his usual dopey way. "More cupcakes!" Bladvic cried out excitedly, the hungry bear pleased at the discovery. "Flowers too!" Gorzan added, his nature-loving self-admiring the plant's beauty. While Razar grabs multiple potions, "So much to steal! I mean... uh... admire from the comfort of my pockets, yes?" he said absentmindedly, the greedy raven was shameless in his behavior.
Growing tired from his friend's behavior, Laval harshly whispers, "Hey! Stay together! Remember?!" he reminds them or tries at least before a chuckle from behind catches his attention. The strange lion watches them, a slight smile on his face as he stares at the newcomers in amusement. Intrigued by the stranger Laval asks, "Say... I know all the lions in my tribe. But you don't look familiar." his curiosity peeked. "Of course not! I'm one baaad lion. They sent me into exile." the strange lion said, getting eerily close to Laval, a manic smile on his face. "What?! You're in exile?! The only lion I've ever heard of in exile is... Lavertus?" Laval asks awestruck, not believing what is happening.
The now-named Lavertus, smiled warmly before saying, "Nobodies called me that name in a very long time." he tells him, an almost longing expression upon his features. Having overheard the conversation, Cragger intervenes, asking about something he had said earlier, "Uh... how, BAD were you exactly?"
At that, Lavertus gives Cragger the death stare and starts growling at him but shows he's only joking. "Oh, you know! Hey! Did you see my workout dummy over there?" he says dismissively as he walks to another door. "Wait! You have a workout dummy?!" Laval says intrigued. "Yes. His name is... Sir Kicks A Lot." Lavertus says in a coy manner, sharing a small smile with the young lion. "NO WAY! I've gotta see this!" Laval says excitedly, noting the similarity with his very own Sir Punch A Lot before he goes to see.
"LAVAL! TOGETHERNESS!" Cragger called out to his best friend, having been left on his own. "HA!" Lavertus yells next to him, taking him by surprise. Screaming in surprise, Cragger fell back, startled by Lavertus' sudden appearance. "Scared ya, huh? See how I did that? Split up your team! I can pick you off one at a time now if I want." he says menacingly. "WHAT?!" Cragger screamed, confused, and unnerved as Lavertus glared at him. Until Lavertus began chuckling, "Of course, I don't want to! Or do I?" he says mysteriously. "Ah..." Cragger replied, utterly freaked out. "I'm just messing with ya!" Lavertus said with a smile. Cragger chuckles in fear, "Oh yeah..." he keeps chuckling nervously, "Of course..." he says unsure. "Or... Am I?" Lavertus adds unsettling, Cragger falling backward once again.
"Sorry about that!" he says helping Cragger up, "So, do you miss your father?" he asks out of the blue before moving on. "WHAT?! How'd you know about my dad?!" confused about how this strange lion knew about his father. But before he could say anything he rushed towards Eris, "Woah!" he stopped her from opening a door, "Don't open THAT door." he told her abruptly, blocking her way. Still, Eris peeks in through a hole with a golden glow coming out of it. "B-But something is glowing in there," she says curiously before Lavertus takes her away from the door. "Yeah! It's my... my uh... nothing important stuff," he says abruptly, clearly keeping something from them.
"YOU SAID SOMETHING ABOUT MY FATHER!" Cragger yelled out suddenly, regaining his attention. "Oh, yes! Of course. Well, I'm not sure it's YOUR daddy-o. But those cloud kooks captured some old swamp fella." he tells them as he goes to pull a map down from the wall. "Along with Crocky's pals," he adds as they have a close look at the map, seeing that all over are the locations of where all the legend beasts are trapped. This gains Laval's attention, as he cries "WHAT?! YOU KNOW WHERE ALL THE LEGEND BEASTS ARE?! AND YOU HAVEN'T?!-"
"Saved them myself?" Lavertus interrupts, before laughing and walks away. "Not my fight! It's Chima's problem. And Chima kicked me out ages ago! But you're welcome to stay here, if you like, while you do your... hero stuff." he says halfheartedly, an undertone of pain hidden behind his jovial attitude.
Laval looks to his comrades who nod that they should stay before turning to their host, "That's very kind of you, Lavertus." he tells him gratefully. Lavertus merely looks at him, deep in thought, "Hm... Nah, not really." he says suddenly, while he hammers a breastplate and walks away. "I'm just bored." He says, going over to the crocodile legend beast with more cupcakes. "there's no one here to talk to, except for, Crocky." He informs them as he feeds the beast, who burps in satisfaction.
"Dude, I'll so be your blabber buddy," Gorzan tells him, overcome with sympathy towards the old lion. "Same here, bro!" Rogon adds as everyone goes around Lavertus, "Just tell it to the horn." he tells him with care. "Fun!" Lavertus says nonchalantly, laughing while walking away, showing them the breastplate. "By the way, I'm making some more armour. Good for the Outlands. If any of you are interested." he offers, going back to his work. "AWOOOHOO!" Woriz howls in excitement, his inner warrior awoken by the prospect of new armor. "Yes! Thank you, Lavertus! With that armour and this map, we'll save our legend beasts! AND CHIMA TOO!" Laval cries out vigorously. "FOR CHIMA!" they all cry in unison. "Whatever!" says Lavertus seemingly not caring about their plight, yet a small smile edged his features.
Later that night, the team rests in Lavertus's lair, Cragger snoring but his instincts wake him up to see Lavertus standing looking at him with a breastplate in hand, getting a fright instantly. "Sorry, did I wake you? You should rest if you wanna rescue those legend beasts tomorrow." Lavertus says suddenly, while Cragger hides underneath his blanket completely unnerved. "Don't worry! I'll make sure you're all safe tonight," he says unsettlingly while he walks away. Cragger almost goes back to sleep before he abruptly adds, "Or... Will I?" chuckling while walking away as the croc gets more scared and goes deeper into his blanket.
With Cragger terrified, Lavertus walks into the secret room he didn't want Eris to see. A room full of golden chi.
Author's Notes:
Welcome back, everyone! It's good to be back in Chima. The journey to the Outlands has finally begun and the seeds for future events have been laid. The serpentine will take a slightly lesser role in this chapter, but their presence will be felt. For example, I have plans to include a slither pit, and if you would like to contribute feel free to post some ideas in the comments. Now, the last time I asked about Rogon's and Eris's relationship, I decided to remove it, this is because the events at the Spires still hunt her. This will be explored in the future, sorry if you are disappointed with this decision.
I hope you enjoyed this new chapter, and thank you for your patience!
