Corso came along with Bennett for the morning meeting.

Sonny said he wanted to implement changes, and all Pirates were anxious to see what those changes were.

Some of the ships needed an overhaul and Sonny had a list ready for his people, on what could wait and what had to happen immediately.

Corso also had the list of outgoing Tecnoid cargo ships.

This could be a good week if Sonny knew what he was doing.

Sonny was still sipping a coffee as he joined them in the office that used to belong to Magnus.

It looked far lighter and inviting now.

A few other Pirates also joined them.

Sonny calmly read a stack of papers on the table as he leaned back in his new chair, looking at them.

"Good work everyone. Cody, nice job at the computers, now we know where to strike. Tom, I see you got potential buyers lined up. Good." Sonny praised some of the younger people on his team.

Then, he handed the paper to Corso.

"Corso, you're in charge of deploying the ships to intercept and steal the cargo. Bennett will oversee the support ships. Starting now, our target will be Technoid convoys only." Sonny said.

Tom stood up, looking pale.

"With all due respect Boss, but we need food. You're telling us we should starve because of your morals? " He objected.

Cody agreed.

"Listen Boss, I know you try to do the right thing, but a crew's gotta eat." He said.

"Magnus knew that." He was interrupted when Sonny rose from his seat, locking eyes with the young pirate.

"Magnus is no longer in charge. We can use the money we earn from selling Tecnoid wares to keep ourselves alive. Unless companies are causing us direct harm, we're leaving them alone. Is that clear?" Sonny said, crossing his arms.

Tom nodded, but Corso saw the hesitance.

He needed to keep an eye on that kid.

Stealing from convoys only guarded by robots was easy money, Corso thought to himself as he helped unload the ship.

They were already programming the robots to work for them.

The ships that were stolen from Technoid would become part of the Pirates' fleet.

Over the span of three weeks, they already got fifteen of them.

This made Sonny happy.

But Corso didn't forget what Sonny wanted from him.

He used his off time to search, and finally managed to find some images.

Some woman or other.

He soon found a wedding picture and it became clear it was Sonny's wife.

That explained some things.

He had to find out what happened to her.

Officially, she was missing, but he didn't believe that. He kept it to himself for now.

Corso then read through Sonny's technoid file.

A Technoid scientist, and a damn good one, until his files turned up as classified.

He wondered what the project was, and how it turned out now that Sonny was a wanted man with one of the biggest bounties ever on his head.

For now, Corso decided to leave it be.

He had more important things to do.

Sonny took a walk to see the man that coached the Pirates' football team.

From the look of things, the Pirates would always be underdogs, being a team with no flux of its own.

Sonny however, learned the truth about that a few years earlier, from Magnus.

The Shiloh Archipelago was actually debris from the planet Escaron.

Sonny heard of the explosion that destroyed it, and he always suspected that Technoid, or more so, General Bleylock was.

He needed to know more.

Especially about the Flux they could use.

That could help in Football Competitions.

Regardless, Technoid didn't know about the change in leadership yet, but that was only a matter of time.

Sonny didn't fear Duke Maddox.

It had been a long time since he had any real control with what was going on in his company.

Working with General Bleylock highlighted that.

The very thought of that man made Sonny wince.

His life and that of others were destroyed, because of him.

If he could set the record straight, maybe some of his mistakes could be made up for, but that had to come later, when he knew who he could trust.

Sonny knocked on the door to the box where Bernie, the current coach of the football team was sitting while the players trained.

The door was opened by his assistant coach, Amid.

"Boss! We didn't expect you to be here so fast." He stuttered.

Sonny smiled, he still didn't feel like everyone's 'Boss'.

"Just making the rounds Amid, trying to see if there is anything I can do to improve things." Sonny said with a smile as he was shown inside.

Bernie got off his seat and shook hands with his new leader.

"Everyone's ready for the season. Maybe you can help us with actually using our Flux." Bernie said.

Sonny nodded as he looked at the team on the field.

They looked somewhat winded.

"Come on Stevens, stop slacking." Bernie yelled.

Sonny looked at the player named Stevens.

He looked exhausted.

All of them did.

"How many of them have the Seed of Shiloh? If it can be summoned without detection, I'll approve it." Sonny informed him.

Bernie looked at him.

"I don't know, but if I push them hard enough, I'm sure one of them will manage." Bernie said, with pride in his voice.

Sonny's face was a mask of pure shock, before it turned angry.

"Stop that right now." He ordered.

Bernie looked at him, shocked.

Sonny just crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow.

Bernie quickly told the players to stop what they were doing after that.

"Let's start with the basics, let's introduce everyone." He said, sending the exhausted players a smile.

He nodded to the man in goal.

"Hawkins, 23 years old, goalie. I have had this position for two years." he said, spinning the ball on his finger.

Sonny nodded and carried on until he knew the entire team; Hawkins, Kate, Davison, Aaron, Dick, Cole and Stevens.

All almost three years on the team.

"Has any of you heard about the Seed of Shiloh?" Sonny asked.

The players nodded.

Stevens raised his hand.

"We all have it. But Magnus told us not to use it. Too easy to track, he said." Stevens explained.

Sonny nodded.

"I'll see what I can do about that. Now take a rest. Can't play your best when you're exhausted." He said.

Stevens nodded.

"Thanks Sonny. We tried to tell our coach but he wouldn't listen." He said.

Sonny looked at Davison.

"Is this true?" He asked.

Bernie sighed.

"They need to get stronger." Bernie said, gesturing to the team to get ready for another round.

Sonny stopped him.

"I made myself clear. The players will rest for the next three days, then they will report in for a medical and flux checkup. Corso will conduct the tests." Sonny told him.

Bernie looked insulted.

"What are even your credentials?" He asked.

Sonny's eyes darkened for a moment.

"We're not having this argument, Bernie. The players will be tested for Flux, to make sure it can't be tracked. I know I'm new to this, but I'd like to have some respect from you." He said.

Bernie was not impressed.

"If they lose, that's on you. " He said.

Sonny nodded slowly.

Sonny decided to have Corso set up the infirmary for the tests the following day.

Corso looked at the vials Sonny had asked him to set up in the ship's lab.

He knew Sonny had taken an interest in The Seed; the Pirates' Flux.

A strong Flux that needed a strong player to control it.

The Seed hadn't been seen since before he joined the pirates.

People figured it was a myth at this point.

But Sonny seemed to think it was very real, and wanted to study it.

Corso could see Sonny put on protective goggles, before using a blast proof container for his study.

It was Flux.

Sonny took a small sample to check trackability.

"How long will this take? " Corso asked.

Sonny looked at him.

"Just a few minutes Corso. If I can make sure they can use this without being detected, they might actually get an advantage." He explained.

There was a small beep, signaling that the test was done.

Sonny looked at the results, before sighing."Sorry Stevens, but it looks like we can't use our Flux just yet…"
