It's been a long time since I've updated. I just wanted to check-in and see how everyone is going.

I'm currently in the process of updating/editing and uploading this story to other writing platforms. I have made small changes to season 1, but it is relatively the same. I am planning changing season 2 slightly and rewriting most of season 3. This shouldn't change where the story is at now too much. I feel my writing got a bit lazy and I just ended up throwing bits of the script together and adding my own line every so often. That's not what I want, I feel as though it weakened Brenna's character. I liked where I was at characterwise in season 1 when she had more of her own personality. Season 2 and 3 I think she was just there, not contributing and just observing. I also just had Brea parrot back a lot of the script, and not have her own lines. I've changed that.

I am slowly getting back into the groove of writing, but I don't want to rush it and end up with lazy writing again.

I just wanted to let you know I have not abandoned this story. I have just started my editing of season 2 so it'll probably be a while until I catch up. Not sure if any original readers are even still keeping up with this haha!

However, I understand some people may not want to wait. If anyone can't wait and wants to know what will happen, my inbox is open. If you shoot me a message I am more than happy to forward my story plan to you and let you know what my plan was for the rest of the story and can discuss if you'd like!

Oz: I definitely have a plan for Kol. It doesn't go off canon really though. But Brea/Kol are endgame. It's so hard with Hayley, I find people either love her or they hate her. My opinion changes all the time haha. I've always had my main plan for this story, Brea's big storyline to happen mid/end season 4, so definitely will be her own part to play there. In regards to the writing, I think season 2/3 I got a bit uninspired and found writing it more of a chore so relied too much on the script. As I said above I've been uploading to a few other platforms and editing/updating chapters in the process. One of the main things I want to work on is character relationships as I feel mine are a bit inconsistent and Brea is overly forgiving because it works for the story. I really want to individualise her story in season 2 and give her more of a backbone in season 3 so she can create her own path. I feel season 1 she stood her ground more and was assertive whereas season 3 she was like oh betray me? That's cool I'll forget about it next episode.

Hearteyesmf: In my rewrite of season 3 Kol will definitely be in it more which will fit the way I want his character to be. And he'll definitely be sticking around... for a bit at least.

Guest: Yeah, I like to stick relatively close to canon. I have it planned how I'd like it to go, it does include some heartbreak. But that heartbreak will heal.
