Not gonna lie I should probably be in bed right now I have to be up at 6:30.
I started writing this the day I finished the last chapter I was just too lazy to edit it, that's my problem I hate editing.
Anyway here is the next chapter, I have got some concerns with how fast the characters are developing loyalties. this will be explained in upcoming chapters but you have to understand for Jenna it is very simple these people whether they know it or not our Jeremys family and she will fight for them.
It didn't take any time at all to pack up, they'd hardly unpacked. Making sure to take everything out to the car in stages, checking to make sure no-one was watching.
Katerina decides to drive, she doesn't need to stop for sleep or food, she can drive through the night. It also helped that she knew the place where they were going.
"You'll like it little Gilbert, it's ran by a very powerful witch, she's been alive since the 20's. Gloria don't suffer no fools." Katerina rambles as she drives trying to forget that she is driving towards someone she's spent hundreds of years running from.
By the time they make it to the bar they had already missed Klaus. Gloria promised he would be back soon, with company before summoning Jeremy away with her into the back. With the promise of teaching him some simple spells while they are here. Laughing at the startled look on his face, like she can't tell an old soul when she sees one. Jeremy is throwing question after question at the old witch, starting with how she looks so fine after so many years... Laughing she pats his cheek calling him adorable.
"Darling old soul, you are quite the light, aren't you?"
"Well, Gloria you ravishing thing you, I do try."
"Behave, old soul, you're a little young for me."
"Gloria,"
"Behave or no grimoires for you." She laughs wagging a finger in his face.
"Fine." He juts his lip out in an adorable pout. She taps it with a perfectly manicured fingers as she dumps books into his waiting arms. Looking around she makes a face,
"You are going to need a bag. And I need your address so I can send you things. You shall be my pupil."
"Why me."
She wraps an arm around him giving the boy alight hug "You're an Old soul, you'll have all the witches lining up to teach you."
"Unlucky for them, all I need is you Gloria dear."
Dropping the last book into his arm a little harder than the last. She reminds him to behave.
"Oh, shit." Gloria shout rushing for the stairs.
"WHA."
"Vampires." They rush up the stairs, Gloria motioning for the three of them to come around the bar out of sight. "Well, look what the wind blew un. Last I heard, you hated this place."
"Gloria. Damn! If I knew you were going to age like this, I would have stuck around."
"It's Damon." Jenna mimes to the others with a cringe. Katerina nods towards the back stairs, where Jeremy has just emerged. Best not to get caught in here.
Once Damon had left, they reconvene at the bar, Jeremy already lost in his new grimoire.
Klaus and Stefan don't notice them at first arguing amongst themselves as they take their drinks from Gloria.
"Wait you two used to be friends but you compelled him to forget?" Jenna snaps, drawing their attention as she stands to give the hybrid a hug, surprising present company. Freezing under Jenna's gentle hands for a moment, hesitantly returning her hug he replies.
"It was time for Rebekah and me to move on. Better to have a clean slate." One arm still around Jenna he drains his drink settling the glass on the bar.
Stefan tries to question why, but Jenna hushes him sitting in the chair facing Nik. Stefan wanders off to get a human drink, well a drink of human. Katerina walks over keeping to the other side of the bar, keeping Jenna in between her and Klaus. "Damon is here."
Gloria calls last call as he walks through the doors hurriedly rushing the humans out. Jenna waves to Gloria as she returns from locking the door asking her to leave two bottles it's going to be a long night, last calls or not.
"I see they've opened the doors to the riffraff now." Jeremy snorts, not looking up from his text at his brother's wit. Nik always did have a sense of humour.
"Oh honey, I've been called worse." Damon grins reaching for a glass, only for Gloria to snatch it away.
"You just don't give up do you Damon." Jenna snaps drawing his attention.
"How could you abandon your family; I came here for my brother." He snaps prowling towards her, as if he hadn't spent years trying to destroy his own brother.
"Elena was never my family, she was John's daughter. I promised my sister I would keep her children safe. Elena was given a choice, she chose wrong. I can't protect someone if all they do is lie and cheat. I had to think about Jeremy." She stands anger rushing through her at his audacity.
Nik is like a shadow at her back ready to tear out Damon's heart should he make a wrong move. Gloria comes to join them both hand raised palms up waiting, she's never liked Damon. Katerina on the other hand moves to Jeremy's side making sure the little Gilbert is well protected. "Well done you came for your brother when you came to mystic falls for your brother it was to destroy him and everything he loved, you killed Zack for fucks sake. Grow the fuck up. You are small-minded and pathetic. You need to remember just how fucking old you are Salvatore."
Damon takes a threatening step forward. Nik pulls Jenna back with a gentle hand. As he calmly spoke "Well I'm torn. You see, I promised Stefan, I wouldn't let you die, but how many freebies did I really sign up for? And clearly, you want to die, otherwise, you wouldn't be here, sooo."
"What can I say? I'm a thrill-seeker." He taunts though smart enough to take a step back from Jenna realising the danger he is in. Unlucky for him he's not moved far enough, Klaus vamps around Jenna grabbing him around the throat, lifting him off the floor with one hand.
"Nik." It's Jeremy who shouts his name, Jenna cringed back at the inhuman show of violence.
With a flick of her hands, Gloria separates the two vampires.
"Not in my bar. You take that outside." She wraps an arm around Jenna's shoulder tugging her around the bar towards the back.
Katerina and Jeremy watch as Damon leaves the bar massaging his throat, Klaus looks around realising that Gloria and Jenna are gone.
"Gloria took Jenna upstairs." Katerina offers, she is unsure about being here with him. Jeremy pats her hand; he won't let his brother hurt her.
"I'm going to retrieve my sister."
"Rebekah!" Jeremy's head shoots up in surprise.
"I'm gathering that's an old soul thing." Klaus says staring at the boy.
Jeremy just smiles. As Nik turns to leave Jeremy shouts him back. "If you want Jenna to forgive you maybe wake Elijah."
"Forgive me for what." The puzzled look does not suit Nik's face.
"You got involved in her argument women don't like that."
"Don't forget your whole violence thing most women don't like that." Katerina pipes up behind him. Only to be silenced by one look from Klaus.
"I'll think about it." He shouts for Stefan as he walks out of the bar.
[A few hours later]
Jenna ignores her phone ringing she knows who it is, and she has no intention of answering it.
"My aunt is kinda mad at you right now, soooo you gotta talk to me." Jeremy trails off not really sure what he's saying.
"I need her help, I just woke my sister up, the last time she was awake was the 20's so she needs a new wardrobe, I was hoping Jenna would help."
"I'll ask." Jeremy looks over at his aunt, he doesn't have to ask she's been listening. Holding out her hand she takes the phone from Jeremy.
"Wake up Elijah, and I will take your sister shopping." She barters.
"Why are you so obsessed with waking my brother you hardly know him." He argues.
"Why do you need to keep your siblings in coffins it's not ok Nik, and we shall be having a very long conversation about it later. But right now if you want my help, that is what I want from you."
"Fine, he shall be awake by the time you ladies are back from your shopping trip."
They can hear Rebekah in the background, who like Elijah is surprised that someone can get away with talking to him like that.
"Can you pick me up on the way or, what?"
"I will order car service for yourself and my sister, love."
"See you soon I suppose." She sighs, Gloria looks between Jeremy and Katerina both shrugs neither really understands what is going on between Nik and Jenna
"Don't ask me, If I didn't know any better I'd say she's a witch and he's under her spell." Katerina stage whispers to the witch
"Shut it the lot of you." Jenna snaps.
{clothing store}
"Ok so we've got your phone, laptop, shoes, jewellery, just clothes left unless there is anything specific you want." Jenna asks knocking back another flute of champagne, this family is turning her into an alcoholic.
"This can't be right. There has to be more to this dress." Rebekah states stepping out of the changing rooms.
"No that's it."
Aghast Rebekah spins in front of the mirror "So women in the 21st century dress like prostitutes, then. You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers."
"No way, seriously. You were there for the woman's suffragette."
"On the front lines, I might be a vampire but we live to the same societal rules as humans."
"Ok if I teach you about the 21st century you have to tell me about what it was like fighting for woman's rights."
"I ate a lot of idiots." Rebekah says in a flippant tone, just to see Jenna's reaction.
Jenna lets out a startled laugh, she hadn't expected to like Rebekah, when Klaus had introduced them she seem quite the spoiled brat. but Jenna could see, she was as she is a teenage girl. One thousand years or not Rebekah Mikaelson is a teenage girl, and it showed.
"So why is your brother in such a bad mood." She asks changing the topic.
"My mother's necklace is missing." Rebekah reaches up pressing two fingers to the hollow of her throat.
"You had it last?"
"She gave it to me when I was younger, I used to steal it all the time, so in the end, she gave it to me." She admits sitting next to this unusual human, who doesn't fear her family.
Nik had said something about her kin being an old soul. That made her safe, no one went after old souls or their families it was taboo. How had Nik gotten one? Either way, Rebekah couldn't wait to meet the boy.
"How long has it been missing?"
"Well I've been in that dreaded box 90 years," Jenna sighs. Long conversation indeed. "Don't bother," Rebekah says seeing the look in her eye, "Not even Elijah can stop him."
"Good thing I'm not Elijah."
"I think I'm going to like you, Jenna Sommers."
[Gloria's bar}
"I know where the necklace is." Katerina says.
"How could you possible know where my mother's necklace is dopplewhore.
"Rebekah." Jenna and Elijah snap. Jenna shushes her as she splutters in response, Elijah nodding to Katerina to continue.
"Ask Stefan,"
They all look towards the ripper who is shuffling his feet.
"Well, mate." Nik slams his hand onto the man in question's shoulder, making his knees tremble.
"Don't know what she's talking about."
"For those in the room that don't know what this necklace looks like." Jenna questions
"I can help with that." Gloria cups her hands an image of the necklace appears. Wide-eyed Jeremy and Jenna share a look they know that necklace too.
"Elena has it." Jenna admits.
"Stefan gave it to here." Jeremy finishes for her.
"Well, that's unfortunate." Elijah sums up,
"At least we know where she is."
"Niklaus, dont be so crass." Elijah snaps seeing Jenna cringe.
"Back to mystic falls then,"
"No, those three are going back to New Orleans, the three of us will go to mystic falls."
"What happened to not leaving the children alone."
"I'm not taking Jeremy back to that place and I doubt you want your baby sister in that backstabbing town. YES, YES." Jenna waves off the offended look on the girls face, "You're an original vampire you can take care of yourself, I get that however you have only just woken up its been 90 years you need to catch up, we are ALL going back to New Orleans we shall wake up your brothers, then the three of us will return to mystic falls. "
"Terrible plan love." Nik says rather than arguing with the woman who is already so mad at him.
"Tuff." Looking around Jenna curses "Katerina find Stefan and snap his neck. Then lock him in one of those coffins if we are lucky, he hasn't warned any of those fools yet."
"Why are we snapping Stefan's neck" Rebekah shrieks.
"Because we can't trust him, sweetheart."
What do we think
I'm unsure wether to jump straight back to mystic falls and do New Orleans as a flash back or do a chapter on New Orleans first let me know what you want to see.
