"Thanks, I did cause you some pain though. I need to adjust my strength." William said to Amagi while he kept messaging her.

"Not succeeding on your first try is a perfectly normal occurrence, all you have to do is to adjust and keep refining your methods until you get it right." Amagi said to William.

"What happens when you only have one chance to do it right?" William asked Amagi.

"That should be the ultimate test of your skills, knowledge, and thinking. You will want to combine everything you have to ensure the best optimal result, then let fate do the rest." Amagi said to William.

"Fate?" William asked Amagi.

"You don't expect everything to go according to plan, shikikan-sama. Sure, you want the best result, but you have to be prepared when there's a chance that not all of your desired outcomes will be realized." Amagi said to William.

"I know that, but you make it sound like fate has the ultimate control in the end." William said to Amagi.

"…Can you change fate, shikikan-sama?" Amagi asked William in a low tone.

"I believe that I can, to some degree…" William said to Amagi while he frowned a bit.

"Mhm…The power to change absolute fate though, do you think we can obtain it?" Amagi asked out loud.

"Change absolute fate?" William asked Amagi as he cocked his eyebrows.

"For example, I participated in a battle that had a one hundred percent probability of me dying, there are no methods or strategies in use that could change that outcome. What would you think will change the outcome? What do you think would prevent my death, shikikan-sama?" Amagi asked William while she smiled somberly.

"By preventing you from participating in that battle in the first place." William said to Amagi in a serious tone.

"What if it's already been done? If I'm already stuck on the frontline with my demise at hand?" Amagi asked William.

"Then I will do whatever it takes to save you. I have the power now; I will use everything I have to prevent that from happening." William immediately said to Amagi.

"…That's a bold method, shikikan-sama. You don't want to promise a girl something that you can't keep." Amagi said to William while she smiled bitterly.

"I will do whatever it takes to make sure you survive. You, your sisters, or any of the ALASUC members." William said to Amagi in a serious tone.

"…I can hear the pure determination in your tone, shikikan-sama. Ufufufu, you're quite serious, I don't intend to make it seem like I'm planning to die, you know?" Amagi said to William while she smiled.

"The thought alone already makes me uncomfortable, Amagi. Don't blame me for feeling unsettled with that scenario." William said to Amagi in a firm tone.

"Even though I'm prepared if I have to lay down my own life for our victory?" Amagi asked William.

"You are to do whatever it takes to win a battle without sacrificing yourself, you are to retreat when the situation is unsalvageable...Don't make me worry, you hear me? I trust you enough to heed my decision, Amagi." William said to Amagi while he frowned a bit.

"I see, I see. Forgive me for making you worried, William-sama…So, you treasure me that much~" Amagi said to William in a soft tone, that's the first time William heard her calling his name.

"…It'll be a cold day in hell when I don't need my beautiful, tactician secretary that I care about by my side." William said to Amagi in a serious tone.

"Ufufufufufu…For holding me in such high regards, arigatou gozaimasu." Amagi giggled then said to William in a soft tone while she smiled sweetly.

…Minutes went by and Amagi felt her shoulders and back soothed. William needed to work on his technique, but his sheer power made up for that. The massage is a bit rough, but it works wonders with her fatigue that she'll consider it a good job. Amagi slowly put her kimono back on while William sat behind her. William couldn't help himself, but to enjoy Amagi's smooth backside until the very last moment where it's covered by her kimono. Oh well, there goes the fan service…William stood up from the bed and stretched a bit, it's like Amagi's shoulder stiffness is transferred to him instead, but he's sure that it's just his own imagination. William looked at Amagi, who's still staring at him while she smiled softly, is there something on his face?

"What is it?" William asked Amagi.

"It's nothing, shikikan-sama. Thank you for your help, would you mind massaging me again sometime in the future?" Amagi asked William while she smiled.

"Of course not, just ask me next time." William said to Amagi while he smiled.

With that, he left Amagi's room…Woooh, bond with the girls he said and look what happened? He discovered a lot of new sides to everyone. Bremerton? She looked so outgoing and sociable, but now William knew that she could only truly open up with the right person. St. Louis? She has her own worries, and she revealed that she has a crush on him. Amagi? Turns out she's quite wise, and a bit fatalistic in her views of war, something that worried William when he heard that she's prepared to die in order for them to win…He really needs to do this with everyone, who knows what kind of stuff he'll find out about the girls if he does so. After the talk with Amagi, however, deep down he's beginning to think of a way to pull the girls out of the combat zone if they're in mortal danger. What would be a good method? Fulton? Portals? No, Fulton extraction is the most possible at the moment. That means their dropship and helicopter would need medical supplies and medics on standby, sending Vestal is not an option though, so he'll have to think on other alternatives…Either way, he will make this work, he doesn't want any of the girls to die because they're trapped or too wounded to survive the journey back to base.

Johnson is not having a good time, he's been stuck for two days on the frontline, and it bogged down into a stalemate! Azur Lane and Crimson Axis managed to set up three firebases on New York and could only advance as far around a kilometer away from their firebases before meeting a fuck-ton of Siren soldiers and vehicles. It's the same everywhere else, every front is currently bogged down in a stalemate against them and have not been able to make any meaningful pushes for sixteen hours. Queens and Newark? Tied down in a nasty attrition fight, but at least they're making better progress than the Manhattan front, the one where Johnson is in charge of. Their firebase is located in Central Park which is currently under attack at the moment. The frontline might be a kilometer away from the park, but the Sirens decided fuck that and rapidly deployed their forces from their relatively unguarded flank. That's how Johnson finds himself busy shouting orders at his men to hold their perimeter, the Sirens are pinning them down from the roads, while the humans had to take cover between the trees and whatever fortifications they've built on their firebase.

"Simon! What's the news for our regular reinforcements!?" Johnson asked Simon, his XO, on the radio.

"They're engaging the Sirens sir! But that's not our main problem, those bastards are approaching from the north, and our front could break at any moment! We could get steamrolled if we don't reinforce them fast!" Simon said to Johnson on the radio.

"Roger that! Apollo Squadron, Garuda Squadron, we're in dire need to close air support! What's your status?!" Johnson said to Simon then to his pilots on the radio.

"Garuda One here! Their jets are hounding us like a mad ex-wife! We're a bit tied right now commander; we'll be there when we find a gap to slip through! Garuda out!" Naga said to Johnson on the radio.

"This is Apollo One, we're currently taking off from the Terranova. We'll be there in five minutes, commander." Morpho said to Johnson on the radio.

"Ah thank god! Be here soon, Morpho!" Johnson said to Morpho on the radio.

"Ten four, sir. Morpho out." Morpho said to Johnson on the radio.

"This is High Commander Carville to Commander Johnson, do you read me?" Lucas suddenly contacted Johnson on the radio.

"Johnson here sir! We're still being sieged by the Sirens! Our frontline could break at any moment, and we will lose the Manhattan front if we don't get reinforcements soon!" Johnson said to Lucas on the radio.

"That's what I thought. For that reason, I'm sending you ALASUC to reinforce and help you push into the Siren HQ, and they'll be there in less than five minutes. We're ending this battle today; I'll brief you on the plan after you could secure your firebase. Good luck out there, Carville out." Lucas said to Johnson on the radio.

Being contacted by the man himself, Johnson could only grin as there's no way he's letting that man down! Besides, ALASUC is coming to reinforce and that means the Manhattan front is going to get the biggest reinforcement compared to the other fronts with the amount of firepower being sent here. They can win this battle; all they have to do now is to survive for five minutes! Johnson kept his eyes on the base perimeter, right now he's in a makeshift control tower in the center of his firebase. He's holding binoculars as he monitors the ongoing skirmish around his firebase, they're being dealt with by his base's defenders. There's incoming regular reinforcement to help them, but that takes time and that means the bigger the chance of them losing momentum from being pushed back. To prevent that from happening, he ordered the firebase defenders to start advancing on the attacking Sirens. Johnson wants this attack dealt with as swiftly as possible, his men are well trained and they have good equipment, so their chances of winning are quite good. He was busy commanding for a while before his operators contacted him again.

"Sir! Radar contact! Enemy fighter swarms are approaching from the north-east!" One operator said to Johnson on the radio.

"Tell our AAs and SAMs to be ready for contact!" Johnson said to the operator on the radio.

"They're already scanning the horizon for them; our SAMs are already locking on their formation." The operator said to Johnson on the radio.

"Sir, the Siren infantries are dwindling, and their tanks are retreating. Our firebase perimeter managed to hold out." Simon said to Johnson on the radio.

"Excellent news! Start assembling our cavalry to reinforce our frontline, we've received new orders from the High Commander himself that the battle will be over today." Johnson said to Simon on the radio.

"What the hell was that?!" Johnson asked out loud on the radio as he looked around his base, and his eyes widened.

"Our AAs and SAMs are hit! They're gone!" One operator said to Johnson on the radio.

"How?! Did those fighters make it through?!" Johnson asked the operator while he scowled as he stared at the destroyed SAM and AA emplacements around his base.

"Yes! Their fighters and dropships are striking us directly sir! Garuda Squadron and the others are still tied down up there!" One operator said to Johnson, he didn't hear any sounds of jet fighters amidst the gunfire, so it must be a long-range missile strike!

"Incoming dropships! They're diving straight down from the sky!" Another operator said out loud.

"…Not this shit again!" Johnson exclaimed as he ran to the ladder at the center of the makeshift tower.

This is just like the Battlegroup Dakota situation all over again! Their firebase is going to get hit directly, and it's safer for him to be inside the battle control room just beneath the tower. Johnson and his guards descended one by one from the tower before the last guy closed the hatch. Johnson is now inside the battle control room that's filled with operators using their portable computers or terminals, and he immediately asked the status around the base. It's not looking good for them as the dropships take out all of their anti-air emplacements, leaving only a handful of base defenders who quickly grab the nearest anti-tank weapons and start firing at the dropships. First problem being that the dropship is durable, even AT-4s need around three well placed shots to bring it down, and it's not easy for the operator to aim when they're being targeted by the dropship's chin mounted plasma cannon. Second problem is the fact that those dropships are currently dropping down Siren troopers alongside Brawlers and close quarter fights immediately happened all around the firebase as the defenders had to fight the Sirens inside their own fort.

"Firefight erupted everywhere; Siren Troopers are inside our perimeter sir!" One operator said to Johnson.

"Can we hold them off!? Get our defenders that have already finished their fights to return immediately!" Johnson said to the operator.

"Three squads are already making their way back to help our defenses, sir." The operator said to Johnson.

"Not good, we need more. How about the reinforcement pushing from the sides!?" Johnson asked the operator.

"They're chasing the fleeing Sirens to make sure our frontline doesn't get hit from behind, sir." Another operator said to Johnson.

"Anyone on the Manhattan front, this is Commander Johnson! You got a retreating Siren unit in immediate contact with your rear lines! Get ready to intercept them!" Johnson said out loud on the radio.

"Roger that sir! How about reinforcements though!? We're nearing our tipping point here!" Someone said to Johnson on the radio.

"Hold the line at all costs! ALASUC is coming alongside the reinforcement, we'll push them back momentarily!" Johnson said out loud on the radio.

PSIUPSIUPSIUPSIU!

Plasma rifle sounds can be heard just outside the battle control center, the operators alongside Johnson and his guards collectively stared at the entrance of their building and readied their weapons in case those Siren troopers entered their room. Johnson readied his SCAR-Heavy loaded with twenty 7.62mm rounds, outfitted with an ACOG scope, laser pointer, and an underbarrel grenade launcher. He aimed his rifle toward the door as his personal guards moved to his front. They guard the only entrance to the room while the operators get back to their tasks with their sidearms on stand-by beside their terminals and portable computers…Everyone is tense as they waited for any sign of black armored humanoids going through the flaps that separated their room with the corridor of this makeshift building that they're in. They waited for a minute and when nothing came inside Johnson told two of his guards to check out the corridor. They walked outside slowly with their weapons drawn, that's when it happened.

PSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIU!

"Contact!" Johnson said out loud.

RATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA!

Johnson and his guards opened fire while the operators grabbed their sidearms as they kept working, the guards that went to check the corridor were gunned down by plasma projectiles coming from the Siren troopers that were heading for the battle control center. Johnson and some of the guards take cover near the entrance and keep up their fire, so the Sirens won't be able to enter the room. The Siren troopers eventually throw a plasma grenade into the room. Johnson doesn't spend any time to grab the ball and throw it back out into the corridor, they could hear the plasma explosion, and they pushed into the corridor to gun the rest of the Sirens down.

"Keep up the fire! We're going to protect the entrance to the BCC!" Johnson said out loud as he reloaded his SCAR-H.

"""""Roger!""""" His personal guards immediately replied to him.

Johnson and his men protected the entrance as they fired at any Sirens on sight, overall, the situation was quite chaotic. Johnson could see his marines fighting for every inch of the land inside their own firebase, the Sirens are everywhere as the dropships managed to drop quite a number of them. Johnson saw two marines to his front reloading their M4A1s while being pinned by four Siren troopers advancing to their location, he shouted at them to stay down before he launched a 40mm grenade from his underbarrel launcher. The grenade hit one of the Siren troopers, exploded, and killed all four of them in one blast. The marines looked back at Johnson and one of them gave him a thumbs up, Johnson nodded his head before he started firing on other Siren troopers within sight. But they can't be doing this forever, someone has to start mowing down these Sirens quickly. The marines to his front are suddenly taken out by concentrated plasma fire, a squad of Siren troopers has regrouped and advances to the BCC. Johnson and his guards are about to fire when they hear something, the sound of a jet flying at low altitude, and a signal that these Sirens are going to die painfully within the next minute.

"All units! General alert! Stand by for Knightfall!"

DUM!

Something fell from the sky just in front of Johnson and the others, a cobalt, two meters tall mass landed on the ground with a loud thud and knocked off dirt all over its landing site. Johnson was full on grinning at this point, those Sirens are dead! William immediately raised his heavily modified M4A1 equipped with a holographic scope, dual drum magazine, and grenade launcher, he then fired at the Siren troopers in front of him, and the bullet storm immediately hosed the Sirens down to the ground.

Almost all of the Sirens on the firebase immediately try to swarm William the moment he makes his landfall, but their odds of success are slim to none, because he isn't alone. Several Siren troopers are about to flank his right side, but their fired plasma bolts never reach him because they're blocked by a shield that's being held by South Dakota, who just dropped down from above then blasted them with three shots from her secondary guns. Brawlers are charging toward William's rear but one by one their heads or bodies are punctured with high velocity rounds, Helena dropped down and covered William's back by firing her hand cannons at the Brawlers. His left side is open to attack, and several Brawlers jump off the BCC's rooftop and lunge at William. Johnson was shocked that those Brawlers came from above him, and he's getting ready to fire at the jumping Brawlers. But Johnson stopped when almost all of them had their heads pinned to the ground in front of him by light arrows, the only survivor in the group got its face kicked in and crushed as Enterprise used it as landing cushion…That single act emboldened the other marines as they fight with renewed vigor, no way they're going to lose this firebase with the Azur Knight and three of his KANSENs here!

…Siren corpses could be seen littered around the base after one minute since William and ALASUC arrived. Their overwhelming firepower resolved the situation relatively quickly, not to mention the Sirens took them as their primary targets the moment they showed up in the area making them easily taken out by the marines while they're distracted. Johnson walked toward William while he shook his head and smiled in relief, thank God for the good neighbor, eh? William himself stored the M4A1 away and looked back at Johnson, the man saw Johnson's right hand raised, and he grabbed in mid-air for an arm hug.

"Saved our skin there, buddy, can't resist the heroic entry huh?" Johnson asked William while he grinned and let go of his right hand.

"What can I say? I have to look the part." William said to Johnson while he smiled a bit.

"Oh and you did, look around you." Johnson said to William as he looked around, the marines cheered hard at them, and some even downright slumped to the ground in relief.

"I see, glad we got here in time…Enterprise, send out your fighters to the Manhattan front and see what you can do to relieve our forces there. Helena, scan the area around so we can commence the joint assault without being flanked. South Dakota, help gather the wounded around the firebase for now." William said to Johnson while he smiled before he commanded the girls.

"""Yes sir!""" Helena, South Dakota, and Enterprise said to William.

"What's the plan then, William? I'm a bit in the dark here." Johnson asked William.

"I'll let the old man explain it to you…High commander, this is Knight, Manhattan Firebase Emerald is secured. Over." William said to Johnson then to Lucas on the radio.

"Excellent news. Commander Johnson, since your base survived the assault, I'll fill you in on our next move. This should kill Siren forces in New York without having to resort to a tactical nuclear strike, so listen carefully." Lucas said to William then to Johnson on the radio.

The plan dubbed as 'SkyFall' is a simultaneous attack on all fronts on the Siren HQ on the White Plains area, this will be achieved by complete annihilation of the area using massive aerial bombardment. Six B-2 Spirit bombers and eight B-52 Strategic bombers loaded with enough bombs for several attack runs are en route to the area, they will fly at high altitude to commence strategic bombing on the Siren HQ from above. Since their HQ has limited range for their AA fire, the Sirens will have no choice but to send fighters to intercept the bombers. That's where the escort comes in: the newest Ironblood fighter crafts, dozens of Iris' Rafale fighters, dozens of Royal's Typhoon Fighters, and almost a hundred of F-16s and F-15s will form a massive escort formation for the bombers to deter the guaranteed Siren interception attempt. ALASUC carriers have sortied into the Hudson River, and they will launch all of their planes to support the attacking ground forces from there, while the battleships will deploy on the gulf north of Long Island for shore bombardment. They will keep the Siren forces pinned while the human ground forces will finish them off from range. This is an all-out assault, the final push to destroy the Siren HQ. Once the site has been pulverized, the ground troops will move in and secure the area for them to salvage anything useful.

"This is a bold plan, high commander." Johnson commented on the radio.

"I admit, it is. But ground assault will result in tremendous casualties, and we have to conserve as much manpower as possible, we'll conserve life by burning up ammo. Can you push up the Manhattan front, Commander Johnson?" Lucas asked Johnson on the radio.

"With Azur Knight and ALASUC here? This'll be a breeze, high commander." Johnson said to Lucas on the radio while he grinned.

"Ah, I like your enthusiasm. Make me proud you two, Carville out." Lucas said out loud on the radio.

"…So, ready to move out?" William asked Johnson.

"I'll sort my men first, then we'll take the fight to them." Johnson said to William while he smiled.

"Got it." William said to Johnson as he saw Johnson turn around and left.

…William sighed a bit as he looked at the direction where the Manhattan front is located, he could hear the faint cannon fire and explosions in the distance. The end of this battle is so close, but William has been cursed with the knowledge that the war is far from over. Nyx was right, they're in for a long fight…He was staring for quite a while before William heard footsteps to his right, and he saw Helena approaching him. Helena jerked a bit when she saw him staring at her, and her cheeks reddened immediately. Hmm? Why would she…Oh…William chuckled lightly in amusement before he approached Helena and put his right hand on top of her head, that seemingly did the trick as Helena looked at him before she calmed down by sighing slowly.

"Don't be so tense Helena, we still have a fight to win." William said to Helena while he smiled.

"Y-Yes commander…I don't detect any active Siren vehicles along the route to the frontline, I can't detect infantry too well, and so far, I got nothing on my sensors…sorry." Helena said to William while she frowned.

"No need to be sorry, you've done what you can. We'll make do with eyeballs during our journey there." William said to Helena while he nodded.

"Okay." Helena answered while she nodded back.

"Lord William? This is Victorious, we're at our designated point and ready to launch our fighters. Shall we begin our attack now?" Victorious asked William on the radio.

"Go ahead, don't hold back out there. Show them what you can do, Victorious." William said to Victorious on the radio.

"As you command, milord. Carriers, let's end this battle today!" Victorious said out loud on the radio.

"Amagi reporting in, shikikan-sama. We're in position and have begun firing at Siren forces." Amagi said to William on the radio.

"Roger, show no mercy, Amagi." William said to Amagi on the radio.

"Hai, wakarimashita." Amagi said to William on the radio.

William chooses Victorious to lead the carrier assault fleet for one simple reason: she volunteered. Yup, that's right, Victorious volunteered to William when he asked them that he needs someone to lead the carriers. Admittedly, he hasn't really relied on Victorious for anything much other than general combat participation. Illustrious often sortied for patrols, and William did bring her on several ground engagements for air support, including the assault on their captured HQ. Formidable? William brought her when there was chaos in the deployment area, and William would need someone to control it temporarily. Formidable's power is his ace in the hole when he needs to evacuate captured or trapped civilians, and there's just too many plasma projectiles in the air.

Victorious is a bit…neglected by him in a sense, and she wants to prove to him that she can do great things just like her sisters. Illustrious and Formidable vouched for her combat strength and her leadership abilities, so William let her lead the carrier assault fleet. Honestly, William is unfamiliar with her strength and abilities, but he still chooses to trust her with this high-risk mission. If she can lead them successfully on this one, she'll instantly earn a good mark in his book.

Amagi being chosen as a fleet leader by William? Nothing new there, if there's one person that he would give command to half of ALASUC without slight hesitation, it would be Amagi herself. Not saying that the other secretaries couldn't lead the girls when he couldn't, it's just that he has absolute trust in Amagi's strategy and tactic implementation. William trusts that she will do a good job with the other half of ALASUC's fleet in this battle, but despite all of that, there's still a few things he's quite worried about. Primarily though? The Siren higher ups themselves. Observer Alpha, Tester Beta, Purifier, Nyx, Midnight, if any of them show up then this plan would get messy real fast. When they show up though, William, ALASUC, and Lena have been given permission to tackle them head on, to tag team those Sirens in case one dares to halt them on this final push.

"Commander, I've done what I can for those wounded soldiers." South Dakota reported to William as she approached him.

"Good work, South Dakota. Enterprise, how about you?" William said to South Dakota then to Enterprise.

"The Manhattan front is quite beaten up, but they managed to hold out sir. We need to reinforce them soon, however." Enterprise said to William while she frowned.

"Alright then, wait a bit…Johnson, this is Knight. How are your forces?" William said to Enterprise then asked Johnson on the radio.

"We're good to go, we're leaving in two minutes! One of my men is delivering a Humvee for you to use!" Johnson said to William on the radio.

"Thanks." William said to Johnson on the radio.

Not too long after that, a Humvee indeed approached them, and the driver got out after he stopped in front of them. The marine private handed the key to William and told him that Johnson had gathered everyone on the east side of Firebase Emerald. William thanked the marine before he beckoned Enterprise, South Dakota, and Helena to enter the jeep. South Dakota told him that she'll drive since she doesn't really have any offensive capabilities other than her rigging, so William tossed the key towards her, and all of them boarded the jeep. South Dakota drove to the rendezvous point and soon joined the convoy that's heading for the frontline, William stared at the timer on his HUD that showed 00:04:09 and counting down. That's the ETA for the approaching massive aerial formation that will commence the bombardment, they'll be here soon to end this almost two weeks long battle. The convoy proceeds slowly and in orderly manners, often having to avoid debris that's on the road caused by previous fights in the area.

"Watch those buildings everyone." Johnson said out loud on the radio.

The last thing they need right now is an ambush, and Siren troopers could pull that off using their plasma launchers from inside a building. William considered this selfish, but he hopes that if they did get ambushed then it's not their vehicle that will get hit…He leaned back a bit on the seat, and he briefly glanced to his right, he briefly caught Helena's gaze at him before she looked ahead…William started to think that Helena has been really affected by what happened two days ago. Enterprise could act professional in front of him, and Cleveland might stutter, but she would get into her working mode when she's on the frontline. William remembered St. Louis' words regarding what Helena did, looks like that punishment had been too effective.

As much as William would like to solve this 'problem' immediately, he wants to do it when he's alone with her. Might be a bit awkward to discuss what happened when there's South Dakota with them. William decided to keep his eye on Helena during the fight that's surely about to happen, not like he has any means to combat the Sirens at long range anyway since his carbine got destroyed…and Diana was not happy about it. She lamented that those weapons are valuable experimental weaponry, but since William could testify regarding its effectiveness, she let him off the hook eventually. He asked her if he can get some replacements, and Diana said it will take some time, that's why he has to settle with conventional weaponry for now.

Also, regarding Plan SkyFall, William was curious…why didn't they do this from the start? They could've just carpet bomb the White Plains area back to Stone Age from the get go, why wait until now? Is it caused by how many Siren fighters are defending New York during the early days of their invasion? Possibly, but there's one other reason why the attack is only viable now. Yes, that's right, the fact that the humans have managed to push the frontline to the Siren HQ's doorstep. The entire army will serve as a distraction, to keep the Sirens rooted to the ground, so they'll have less attention to look up. Easier said than done of course, the Sirens could still throw out an assload of their fighters toward their massive aerial formation. But he shouldn't mind about them, he's got his own job to do now. Why did William only bring three KANSENs with him to the front? Safe to say, their primary job isn't to bombard the Siren HQ, it's to do battle against them and cause enough damage that the Sirens would prioritize them instead.

"What the?!" Enterprise exclaimed out loud.

"What's happening, Carl!?" William asked Johnson on the radio.

"Stray plasma bolts! We're close to the frontline, it's to be expected!" Johnson said to William on the radio.

"Roger, any strategy to use?" William asked Johnson on the radio.

"Shoot the bad guys until they don't get up again." Johnson said to William on the radio.

"Ah, the classical 'more dakka' strategy. Got it." William said to Johnson on the radio while he smiled.

"Commander, does that mean we only have to kill as many of them as possible?" Enterprise asked William.

"Basically. So don't hold back out there. South Dakota, I need you to conserve your main guns' ammo for priority targets, so try to use your secondaries or AAs as your primary means to fight them. Enterprise, make the most of your planes alongside arrows and take out as many Sirens as you can. Helena, you stay behind me and prioritize scanning for the approaching Siren forces to make sure we don't get flanked. Understood?" William asked the girls.

"""Yes sir!""" Enterprise, South Dakota, and Helena answered in a serious tone.

"We reached the front! Get ready Knight!" Johnson said to William on the radio.

BOOM!

"Alright, bail out!" William said out loud.

South Dakota stopped the jeep, and everyone disembarked from the Humvee, right now they're in the suburbs before White Plains, and it's already hectic! William could see the damage all around the area, burning houses, fallen trees, craters, destroyed vehicles from both sides, corpses of human soldiers and Siren infantries could also be seen all over the area. William summoned his M4A1 and started walking toward Johnson, who's taking cover behind a house. Helena followed him, while Enterprise and South Dakota started scanning the area in front of them for any signs of Sirens. They found some of them entrenched to their front, so Enterprise and South Dakota didn't waste time to fire at them. Enterprise launched her fighters while South Dakota rained their cover with her secondary guns.

"Will, we're going to advance slowly. Make sure not to get too far ahead, let our marines and armor go first." Johnson said to William as he readied his SCAR-H.

"Got it, ready for this?" William asked Johnson while he smiled confidently.

"Heh! Let's rock!" Johnson said to William while he grinned.

Johnson and some of his men jumped out of cover then fired their guns as they tried to push the frontline, it's the first time William saw Johnson in action, and he could safely say that he's the real deal. William nodded at Helena before he advanced slowly with his M4A1 on alert, Helena tagged along by holding onto his back armor while she held her hand cannon on her right hand and scanned the area. Enterprise and South Dakota followed from their sides. South Dakota received an M16A4, alongside a bandolier full of magazines from one of the marines who said that she can use it for close quarter combat. Enterprise took cover behind a brick wall, she peeked out only to be greeted by a hail of plasma bolts being fired at her from a house. She successfully dodged the projectiles, drew her bowstrings, aimed at the sky, and released the light arrow. The arrow turned into a SB2C Helldiver, which flew high before diving toward the house then released its payload, three HE bombs completely obliterated the house it just bombed and effectively cleared the local marines to advance.

"That's the reason why I love the ship girls when they fight on the ground!" A marine said out loud.

"Move it out! Keep pushing them!" Another marine said out loud.

South Dakota advanced forward with a line of marines behind her, she brandished her shield as she tanks the plasma bolts being fired at them. South Dakota allowed the marines to push into the next cover before she armed her main guns, William did say that he needed her to conserve her main gun ammo, but that doesn't mean she couldn't occasionally use it. She only needed to limit the use of her main guns, but this occasion warranted her to fire them. Why? The area in front of them has a heavily defended large house, and there are several Challenger Tank wrecks nearby, looks like an ambush and defensive spot for those Sirens. South Dakota fired one of her main guns toward the large house, effectively blowing it up completely after three 406mm HE shells impacted the house.

A huge Siren dropship that could drop mechs is flying towards them, and that's her next target, six shells coming from South Dakota's remaining guns effectively disabled the shield and damaged it enough to lose altitude then crashed into the ground. Cheers could be heard across the battlefield, and marines immediately started pushing forward while firing their weapons and supported by several APCs and tanks. South Dakota was about to sigh before she saw several Siren trooper stragglers, she immediately raised her M16 and fired a full ten bursts at the survivors. Her magazine ran dry but the Siren troopers died or sprinted back to their lines at full speed, South Dakota reloaded her M16 before she walked ahead.

"Commander Johnson, I detected three Siren Dropships to the east." Helena said to Johnson on the radio.

"Roger that Ms. Helena. Anyone on the east side, you got incoming dropships, three of them. Brace yourself." Johnson said to Helena then to his forces on the east side.

"I also detected several mechs forming a line directly in front of us. What do we do, Commander William?" Helena asked William from his back.

"We'll call for help…Ms. Victorious, we need help with Siren mechs on the Manhattan front. Can you redirect the others to strike them down?" William said to Helena before he asked Victorious on the radio.

"What a coincidence! I just about to send out my second wave of bombers, Ms. Saratoga and Ms. Essex are also ready to help, we'll be there shortly, milord!" Victorious said to William on the radio.

"Terrific-"

William and Helena could feel the ground shaking like there's an earthquake, followed by dozens of huge explosions in front of them. The horizon briefly flashed and turned orange then black as hundreds of bombs are dropped straight onto the location where the Siren HQ is located. The bombers are here. William looked up, but he couldn't see any sign of them due to the clouds. They must be so up high that he couldn't look at them properly without zooming in…That's the first bombing run, the sound alone already hinted at the raw devastation all those bombs could cause. Do several more runs to empty their ordnance, and the human forces will gain overwhelming advantage in this battle… at least until the Sirens bring out their own big guns. William keeps his ears open for any alerts on the radio, any signs that the Siren higher ups are spotted in the battlefield. Strangely, there hasn't been any reports ever since they began the invasion. The last contact the humans had with those Sirens was when William and Nyx dueled inside the regional HQ, that was two days ago.

"Helena, could you detect any Siren higher ups around the area?" William asked Helena.

"No commander, I didn't detect any of them…" Helena said to William as her lips curled into a frown.

"I see…that's strange, a massive attack like this should've provoked them to do something…" William muttered to himself as he and Helena took cover behind a low brick wall.

"Um…commander…" Helena said to William in a low tone while she frowned.

"What is it?" William asked Helena as he reloaded his M4A1.

"Do you want…to fight them again? Is that why you're searching for them?" Helena asked William while she frowned.

"…No, if they don't show up, then I won't search for them." William said to Helena.

"…I see…that's good…" Helena said to William then muttered the last part.

"You worried about me, Helena?" William asked Helena as he peeked from cover.

"…Y-Yes I am! Please don't do something that could get you killed! I…I don't want to see you…die, commander." Helena said to William while she frowned sadly.

Helena is afraid to lose the people she cared about; she doesn't want to see her friends die. Her commander? Even more so. He's always in the thick of it, being with him in the front made her realize that all it takes is a pinch of bad luck and powerful Siren weaponry for William to get killed. She really doesn't want that to happen to him, he's the one who assured her that she's useful, that she's a valuable member of ALASUC, and someone he could rely on. She doesn't want to disappoint him, she doesn't want the man who she wants acknowledgement from to die.

…William looked at Helena before he smiled and squeezed her shoulder lightly to assure her, it feels great to have someone that cares about you. William got to know Helena better during this operation. She's a bit shy, lacking some self-confidence, but will be assertive when the situation demands it. She's a bit awkward at times, but she has a big heart as she really cares for her allies. Helena also used to rarely speak her mind about things to him, but lately she has been able to speak what she thought to William. Just like now, William found out that Helena did care for him so much that she didn't want him to go off on a blind hunt to meet something that could easily kill him. She doesn't want to lose him…

"…Don't worry, I'm not going to try and kill myself or anything, Helena." William said to Helena while he smiled.

PSIUPSIUPSIUPSIUPSIU!

William immediately ducked when his shield flared up as it took a direct hit from a plasma bolt, that's what he got for being distracted in the battlefield! Helena emerged from cover and fired several volleys from her hand cannons. There are several Siren troopers advancing toward them, and every one of them was being gunned down by Helena. William looked at Helena as he waited for his shield to recharge, and he's stunned for a bit. It's the first time he ever saw her face filled with raw determination to kill something…Holy shite that's hot, William thought to himself. Helena successfully murdered ten Siren troopers by herself, she ducked back into cover and glanced at William. She can't see his expression due to the polarized visor, but the man gave her a thumbs up alongside a nod of approval. Helena looked away for a bit as a soft smile graced her lips.

"Pray to your gods, heathens! The cavalry has arrived!" Someone said out loud.

"Ah! It's them!" Helena said out loud while she smiled.

"It's the first time I'm seeing them up close." Enterprise said out loud as she approached William and Helena.

That booming sound comes from the speakers of an MCP Ronin, eight of them could be seen walking from the direction where the human forces are coming from. It looks like they're here to provide the much-needed overwhelming firepower. Those mechs might be able to help Victorious and the others with the Siren mechs. The MCPs started firing their assault cannons, and William, alongside the girls, could really feel the thunderous sound of the weapons as the 75mm cannons fired in fully automatic, the shells flew toward the Siren mechs in the distance who then proceeded to return fire.

The thing that sucks about plasma projectiles? They're not as fast as a bullet, so even the half-baked MCP pilots could avoid them due to the hundreds of meters of distance between them and those Siren mechs. They are doing so well to avoid the plasma projectiles, while their rounds make hard impacts on the Siren mechs' shields. Then, there's the air support from Victorious, Essex, and Saratoga that keeps harassing them. With the area being a suburb, there are no tall buildings to use as cover, so the Siren mechs' shielding quickly got overwhelmed, and their hulls started taking damage. All of this happening while the infantries alongside the vehicles engaged in close combat, and there's a massive bombing raid in front of them, its chaos!

"Commander! Siren fighters! They're moving to our position, possibly to take out our mechs!" Helena warned William while she frowned.

"Knight here! Our MCPs are possibly being targeted by incoming Siren fighters, could anyone assist in taking them out, over!?" William asked out loud on the radio as he saw a squadron of Siren jets rapidly approaching them.

"I'll help thin them out!" Enterprise said out loud as she aimed her bow and released her arrows that turned into fighter crafts.

"Whoops, they're sending a counter for us! Scatter and fire at them!" The white and red MCP suddenly said out loud on the speaker.

"Tally target twelve o'clock, fox three."

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Enterprise's F4F fighters hadn't even reached their firing range when several missiles struck the Siren jets, fireballs could be seen falling from the sky as a squadron of F-22s with a light blue colored jet in the lead flew past them. Apollo squadron's primary task in this fight is the support role, to help any element within the forces that need airstrikes and to intercept any Siren jets that might ruin the human forces' day. MCPs are without a doubt vulnerable to aerial attacks, missiles are always faster than plasma bolts, and these MCPs don't have an energy shield generator to tank one or two strikes. Maybe in the future there could be a dedicated missile countermeasure, but for now they have to rely on the other units to defend them from airstrikes. Morpho and his squadron is the right team for the job, they swiftly and easily dispatched the Siren jets like an Ace Combat protagonist. Akira Yamato's mech, the white and red one, throws a mock salute at the passing Apollo Squadron.

"Much appreciated Apollo, keep the sky safe for us all!" Yamato said out loud on the radio and speaker.

"Roger that." Morpho replied to Yamato on the radio.

BOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOMBOM!

"The bombardment is so intense!" South Dakota commented as she gritted her teeth due to the shockwave.

"That's what you get when fourteen strategic bombers hold a meeting up in the sky." William said to South Dakota.

"We're not done yet commander, why are our forces holding this position?" Enterprise asked William when she noticed that everyone stopped moving and hunkered down.

"This is the designated limit for our approach, any more than this, and there will be a risk of us getting caught in the bombardment area." William said to Enterprise.

Yup, two and half kilometer away from the Siren HQ is the maximum limit of the human forces' encirclement. Even at that distance, it's still extremely risky for them due to the nature of strategic bombardment to deal such damage to break the enemy's morale and capability to field their own forces. Ordinarily, the move they executed right now could be categorized as carpet bombing as well. But Lucas prefers the term strategic bombing more because right now they're literally crippling the Sirens' ability to immediately continue the fight, not to destroy the entire White Plains area even though he's sure that at least eighty percent of the area will be covered in craters and dust when they're done. Doesn't matter, he clings to the fact that cities and towns could be rebuilt, you can't replace lost population or manpower as fast as rebuilding a city…Because of that, William, Enterprise, Helena, and South Dakota are currently seated behind a low brick wall as they wait for the Sirens to come and engage them in a fight. That's when William noticed something…

Why didn't the Siren forces charge at them at this very moment? Their base is under intense bombardment, they are surrounded from all sides, but they haven't tried anything right now? No, they could try to break through from another front, so William turned on his radio to listen to the other military channels to hear their progress. To his confusion, the other perimeters also experienced the same thing as they're holding position just outside the danger zone without any Sirens attempting to attack them…They then proceed to spend around an hour holding their positions as massive bombing commenced in front of them every ten minutes or so, Enterprise occasionally peeked out to stared at the horizon briefly turning orange from all of the explosions whenever the formation make a pass above the White Plains area. Johnson also joined them after a while and waited with them for the completion of the bombardment…After around an hour and twenty minutes, the bombardment finally stopped and William could hear Lucas' voice on the radio.

"Aerial Formation Ganymede, status report." Lucas asked out loud on the radio.

"This is Ganymede Actual. Ammunition expended, we've dropped everything on top of them, sir. We're pulling out of the combat zone and returning to base now, over." One of the pilots said to Lucas on the radio.

"Solid copy Ganymede Actual, stand by for further orders…All fronts, report in." Lucas asked out loud on the radio.

One by one, each commander in charge of their area of the frontline reported to Lucas, including Lena and Johnson. Every report is the same, the Sirens stopped any of their attacks after round three of the humans' strategic bombardment. Lucas then ordered helicopters to conduct battle damage assessment of the bombarded area, followed by armor and infantry. William and the girls decide to come along with them after telling the rest of ALASUC to stand by for any order to continue the attack, they ride on top of an APC as they make their way to the White Plains. The area around the Siren HQ? Pretty much a wasteland, most of the buildings have collapsed on the ground with a few that are still standing looking very fragile and could collapse at any moment. There are husks of Siren mechs and tanks, but there are very few corpses of Siren infantries which indicates that many of them are simply torn asunder by the firepower being dropped in this area. The human forces keep advancing until they see the Siren HQ in sight, and they're quite relieved.

…The Siren HQ took massive punishment as only some segments of its thirty meters metallic walls remain standing, the structure inside? Not many of them could be recognized as structures anymore, ruins fit them perfectly. William told the girls to call for the Acheron dropship then wait outside the Siren HQ as he alongside Johnson's forces walked inside with weapons at the ready, they scoured the entire site and…they came up empty handed. All they found here were corpses and husks of war machines, the salvage team might retrieve something useful from these ruins later, but the initial sweep resulted in nothing.

No boss fight with the Siren higher ups, no final battle against something like a last resort weapon by the Sirens, not even a desperate clutch fight as the Sirens evacuates…Nothing, they just get up and leave somehow. It's rather anticlimactic, but William is honestly fine with a fight ending in such a way. Life isn't a video game, not every fight they have is going to end up like a final stage or something. All that matters is that this battle has ended, they've saved as many lives as they could, quelled the threat, and learned a lot of new things regarding those Sirens. William knows that ALASUC's work here is done for now, they should return to rest and prepare themselves for the next fight. After saying that he'll be going back to Johnson, William heads outside toward the awaiting Acheron dropship with Enterprise, Helena, and South Dakota already onboard. Then, they fly away to pick up the rest of the ALASUC members to head back toward the Terranova.

…Two days have passed since the end of the battle, it's time for ALASUC members to head back to their base. The rest of the joint forces that participated in Operation Eagle Storm will remain for some time to help with New York's recovery, the whole subway system hasn't been fully inspected, and there could be pockets of resistance for Siren infantry. The sweep will continue for at least a month, there's so much they have to do before New York could return to its condition before the attack. However, that's not for ALASUC to worry about, and Lucas has told them to return to their own base. William has a lot to do, he has to improve their combat doctrines, overhaul their extraction system, and even train the girls as infantries. He realized that if they keep fighting the way ALASUC currently did, then there's a chance that one day it'll bite them in the ass. Sure, there were no major casualties among them, but that served as a wakeup call for them to train harder and improve themselves. More than one girl has expressed this to William just after they returned from the battle, he agreed with their points.

"Where would we be without you and ALASUC, huh?" Lucas said out loud while he smiled.

"Bottom of the sea I reckon. It's only been two weeks, but it felt like months." William said to Lucas.

"At least we ended it in victory. So go ahead, return to your base and get some refreshing breaks for everyone. They've done a good job during this operation." Lucas said to William.

"For sure." William said to Lucas as he looked at the girls minding their own business inside the dropship.

Half of the ALASUC members that participated in this battle have gone ahead of them, there's only one dropship, and it couldn't fit them all, so the dropship has to go back and forth between the ALASUC base and the Terranova. Of course, there's a welcoming party being set up for the new arrivals from Eagle Union, it'll be held tomorrow when everyone has gotten enough rest. Lucas looked at William's helmet that covered his face, he and Lena really did a great job in appointing William as their commander huh? Honestly speaking, Lucas wouldn't be that comfortable doing everything he has done so far if the ALASUC commander isn't William. Hell, he wouldn't even think about the DNA Mod because he couldn't be sure whether they could be trusted. Even William, his trusted man, had to struggle with the rapid changes his body makes even to this very moment. Lucas is glad that his emotions have been more stable lately, and he almost returned to his usual self, but it could still change depending on the final result of the DNA Mod…He hoped that whatever kind of person he will become later, Lucas hoped that he would still care about the ship girls and humanity as a whole. Lucas trusted William to have that big of a heart…

"…Something on your mind?" Lucas asked William as he walked to the side and stared at the girls as well.

"…I will see this war to its end, I will keep the girls alive and well, no matter how long it takes…I will take care of them." William said to Lucas in a low tone as he stared at the ship girls.

"…The Sirens better watch out then, cause we both intend to do the same." Lucas said to William as he smiled then offered his right hand.

"Thanks for being here with us, Lucas." William said to Lucas as he shook his hand.

"Ditto on that, Will. We'll be counting on you when the Sirens show their faces in this world again." Lucas said to William while he grinned as he shook William's hand then let it go.

"You know my number, tell Lena that I'll be leaving first, and good luck on sweeping the New York subway system." William said to Lucas while he smiled a bit.

"I'll tell her that later. Well then, enjoy your flight back. Try to give me more grandkids, would you?" Lucas said to William while he grinned.

"I'm not your son, you know? But I'll let you know if there's development on that aspect." William said to Lucas with half closed eye as he walked to the dropship.

"Hahahahaha…You are one to me…" Lucas laughed before he muttered under his breath as he stared at William.

William boarded the dropship and stood near the hatch as it started to lift off the Terranova's deck, he gave a slight wave at Lucas, who returned the gesture, before the dropship engaged its main thrusters. The dropship started climbing, and the rear hatch closed. William nodded his head once before he turned around and walked toward the cockpit. He stared at the sea of clouds and the blue sky above them. It's so peaceful to see the sky without any dogfights, explosions, missiles, or tracers flying all over it. William heard the door to the cockpit open, and he could see Enterprise, she approached him as the door behind them closed.

"Something on your mind, Enterprise?" William asked Enterprise.

"…I've just been thinking, commander. With everything that Nyx said, we will have more fights in the future, more battles like this in the future, and even assured death and destruction of many people and civilization…Knowing that the people we save could still end up dead, I'm feeling quite hopeless…" Enterprise said to William as she stared at the blue sky in front of them.

"…I believe there's a hidden message that the Sirens try to convey, Enterprise…If you want to survive, don't ever give up…That works for us as well. I know that most of humanity could die in this war, but that doesn't mean we should stop protecting them. That's our very reason for fighting, to protect those who couldn't do it themselves and survive another day." William said to Enterprise.

"I did think the same. We will have to keep it up for as long as possible…So from now on, it's one battle after another, huh…" Enterprise said to William while she frowned.

"Basically…you ready for this, Enterprise?" William asked Enterprise.

"No…I'm not." Enterprise said to William while she lowered her head.

"Then we can prepare together." William said to Enterprise as he patted her head.

"…I feel that…as long as you're here with us commander, I can draw upon all my strength. To survive the fight with the Sirens, to save the others from them and eventually, to end this war." Enterprise said to William while she smiled and her cheeks reddened.

"Don't worry, I don't have any intention to leave. You can do it." William asked Enterprise while he smiled for a bit.

Enterprise just smiled as her head was patted for a bit longer, then she went back to the passenger bay. William sat on the co-pilot seat, he leaned his head on the seat for a bit before he sighed slowly…William steeled himself, he's committed to this near endless war, he will see to it that the world will one day be freed from Siren interference. His mother didn't raise a quitter, he himself knows that giving up means that this world is doomed. Nyx himself said he shouldn't disappoint, lest humanity would suffer some horrible fate.

Is the fate of the entire world resting on his shoulders? Is he really that significant in the eyes of the Sirens? William doesn't know that for sure, all he knows is that their struggle is far from over. So, he needs to keep fighting, strengthen himself, never stop learning, cherish the little things, and most importantly, persevere through anything that the world will undoubtedly throw at him and the ship girls…With that in mind, William nodded at the Manjuus who chirped at him. The dropship accelerated to its max speed, and they're well on their way back home.

There we go, Operation Eagle Storm is concluded, and William alongside ALASUC could return home…with two of them being pregnant…wonder what will happen with the base dynamic now that they know the only male on the base is 'fertile', hehehehehehe…Ah, I did say that the minor factions will get some spotlights, but I'll consider to write the next one or next few chapters to be a slow one, can't have too much combat without some R&R eh? So let's take it slow, the cast does need to rest after everything they've been through in the last few chapters…

With that being said, there's an idea I'd like to hear your opinion on. I'm worried that I may couldn't fit the lemons of most Azur Lane girls inside this story. If I did that then this story will be severely longer due to all of the 'filler', get it? Filler! Because the KANSENs have their insides filled…alright, I'll show myself out…So, how about a side story dedicated to a fluffy vanilla cake coated in lemon juice? That way, the girls that didn't get much spotlight in this story could still be featured. Can't do everyone though, either I'm doing whoever I want at that moment, or I'll use the poll system. But I could also put them in this story if you guys don't want to juggle between two different stories. It'll be longer, but hey, juicy lemons. Let me know what you want best with that option though, alright?
