After his last class, gym class, Blaine changes quickly and goes to the auditorium. Kurt says goodbye to Finn who goes home to Burt before he rushes to the auditorium to be there before Blaine. On stage he turns on a dim light and places two chairs in the middle. He gets the instrumental of his song ready and sits down, waiting for his boyfriend to come. The door opens. Kurts head snaps up at the sound and sees the curly haired boy he loves so much.
"Hi" he says and the other boy answers "Hi" while he walks up the stairs to the stage. "Sit. I- I thought I sing to you. It was Finn's idea because you know we always sing to each other and I thought it would be nice. Yeah I stop the rambling now" the older boy rambles nervously before he too sits down again oposite of Blaine. He hits play and starts singing to the music. His eyes are either closed or locked with Blaines hazel ones like they are the only people on the planet.
I blew things out of proportion
Now you're blue
Put you in jail for something you didn't do
I pinned your hands behind your back, oh
Thought I had reason to attack, but no
Fighting with a true love
Is boxing with no gloves
Chemistry 'til it blows up, 'til there's no us
Why'd I have to break what I love so much?
It's on your face
And I'm to blame
I need to say
Hey, it's all me, in my head
I'm the one who burned us down
But it's not what I meant
Sorry that I hurt you
I don't wanna do, I don't wanna do this to you
I don't wanna lose, I don't wanna lose this with you
I need to say, hey, it's all me, just don't go
Meet me in the afterglow
It's so excruciating to see you low
Just wanna lift you up and not let you go
This ultraviolet morning light below
Tells me this love is worth the fight, oh
I lived like an island
Punished you with silence
Went off like sirens, just crying
Why'd I have to break what I love so much
It's on your face
Don't walk away, I need to say
Hey, it's all me, in my head
I'm the one who burned us down
But it's not what I meant
I'm sorry that I hurt you
I don't wanna do, I don't wanna do this to you
I don't wanna lose, I don't wanna lose this with you
I need to say, hey, it's all me, just don't go
Meet me in the afterglow
Tell me that you're still mine
Tell me that we'll be just fine
Even when I lose my mind
I need to say
Tell me that it's not my fault
Tell me that I'm all you want
Even when I break your heart
I need to say
Hey, it's all me, in my head
I'm the one who burned us down
But it's not what I meant
Sorry that I hurt you
I don't wanna do, I don't wanna do this to you
I don't wanna lose, I don't wanna lose this with you
I need to say, hey, it's all me, just don't go
Meet me in the afterglow
"Kurt" Blaines voice is barely over a whisper but he doesn't say more. He doesn't even have words. He looks into Kurts blue eyes glittering with tears threatening to fall and a hopefull expression. Blaine has tears in his own eyes. He doesn't like seeing Kurt like this and he doesn't like when they aren't together.
"I'm sorry for making you feel unloved Blaine. Can you forgive me?" Kurt asks and his voice almost breaks. "Of course darling. Of course. Come here please" the curly haired boy says, standing up and opening his arms for Kurt. The latter gladly accepts the invitation and hugs his boyfriend. He holds on like Blaine is his lifeline because that's pretty much what he is. A few tears escape Kurts eyes but Blaine wipes them away. "I love you honey. I love you so much" Kurt whispers and when his boyfriend answers "I love you too" Kurt leans back a little but only so much that he can kiss Blaine with everything he is and has. Love. So much love.
"I thought maybe we could get coffee at Lima Beans and sit down there to chat a bit?" the chestnut haired boy proposes and to his luck Blaine nods "I would love to". They both take their bags and leave the auditorium with their hands clapsed together like they belong. On their way out they turn off the light and close the door, smiling happily because they finally walk next to each other again, feeling the others touch.
With their drinks Kurt and Blaine find a table in the corner of the coffee shop. Kurt is quiet and just by looking at him Blaine knows what's on his mind "Kurt you don't have to feel bad or apologize again. I forgave you". "I know. I just can't believe that I couldn't see how I made you feel" Kurt answers "I always told you that you may grew up with little affection but that you will never feel unloved when you're with me. I promised you but-". "But it happened. Yes happened. But we both know better now" the curly haired boy stops his boyfriends rambling.
It's quiet for another moment before Blaine says "You told me how overwhelmed you are but your letter showed it even more. I want to help you Kurt. All of you but you the most because it's really hard for you. If it's okay and if you let me of course. We can cook together or I help you cleaning, doing laundry or something. It doesn't matter. You, Finn and I can do our homework together, I can help you two with that. Instead of spending time at both of our houses we can only meet at yours for a while so you're with your dad because no matter where we are it's still you and me".
"Yes please. I don't think I can do it like now much longer. Sure exams are over but school's not. Also we need to get ready for Nationals and I missed a lot in glee lately. Finn and I both did" Kurt admits but Blaine just smiles "It's okay. I show you two what we did". "You're the best" Kurt says smiling and takes Blaines hand in his over the table "Now can we please change the topic? To something happy?". "Gladly" the other boy answers. They talk about this and that until their drinks are empty and both slowly need to get home.
"Are you sure you'll be fine today?" Blaine asks. He brought Kurt home but the latter said that Blaine can go home now and stay to help tomorrow. They were out quite long so there isn't much left to do besides cooking dinner and clean some dishes. "Yes very sure. My last paper for Wednesday is almost finished so it's okay. I'll call you tonight after dinner" Kurt says. He smiles at Blaine, leaning in to kiss him goodbye. "Talk to you later honey" he says and Blaine nods "Hug Burt from me and the others of course. Bye darling". With that he turns around and goes home himself.
Kurt smells food when he comes in and asks "What's for dinner?". "Pizza. I bought a dough so we can choose our toppings and make a healthier one for Burt. I hope you like the toppings I put on yours. It's in the oven to keep it warm" Finn says. "Thanks" Kurt answers shortly and gets his pizza before he sits down with the other two in the living room. "You look happy. Did your plan work out?" Burt asks his son. The boy nods and while they eat Kurt tells them what happened today.
That Blaine wrote a letter too, his reaction to the song and what they talked about at Lima Beans. Naturally Finn and Burt are very okya with Blaine supporting them. It makes everything easier for them and Kurt and he can spend more time together.
