Nepgear reached Planeptune's beach shore as her feet touched the cold sand. The sound of water waves complemented the calm night, along with the moonlight. The wind whispering in her ears and the smell of the salty water brought a wash of nostalgia and peace. She could honestly stay here and admire the view, but duty calls. It came in the form of a call through her N-Gear. A quick glance told her it was Histoire who called her.
"Histoire, me and IF took care of AISC. I'm heading back now—"
"Nepgear. We got a situation."
"Huh? What's going on?"
"There were sightings of hordes of monsters that appeared just outside of Planeptune's border. We're not sure as to where they've come from, but there's a high risk they'll breach the city's border if we don't take any action."
"Roger, I'll head over there and deal with it now. Prepare the defenses just in case."
"I've already prepared the military defenses. Retreat if things prove difficult. Good luck and be safe."
Nepgear soon took off into the night sky. She wasn't going to let anything happen to her nation, not on her watch.
(N)
The CPU had no trouble finding where the monsters were gathering, as she spotted glowing eyes and glowing orbs in the distance amid the darkness. She landed from a safe distance and began observing the monsters beneath the moon. There were a bunch of them, and a variety of them weren't the usual inhabitants of this area and even some she didn't recognize at all.
Where did all those monsters come from?
This wasn't right. Those types of monsters shouldn't spawn near this part. Either they somehow traveled all the way here or someone spawned them. She's leaning towards the latter.
Okay, I just need to dispose of them and find the source behind their appearance. Easy.
Nepgear steadied her aim before she pulled the trigger as she released the air from her lung and fired a couple of energy shots, which finished some of the unsuspecting monsters, earning her the first blood. The surprise attack didn't last for long, as all the monsters were now alerted and aware of her presence. The pack of wolves howled before they all rushed to attack her.
Nepgear evaded an attack by darting to the side while firing multiple shots that neutralized the first wolf. The other four wolves were slowly circling around her, like a predator sizing its prey.
She immediately prepared herself by hardening her grip on her weapon and adjusting her feet as two wolves attacked from both sides. She aimed her gun blade up and shot at the first wolf, followed by slashing wildly at the second. She then quickly turned around, fended off an attack from behind and pierced the third wolf with her blade before it could recover.
Predictably, the last one leaped at her. This time, instead of blocking, Nepgear simply turned the tip of her blade up, which resulted in the blade penetrating through the wolf's belly.
She felt her danger sensation going off and quickly evaded an enormous boulder heading her way. There were two earth golems in the distance. They possessed the power to manipulate the earth element, which, as you could guess, was very bad. Everything around them was now a weapon so Nepgear had to rely on her agility to evade the projectiles until an opening presented itself.
She fired a couple of shots at one of the golems, which tore off it's limps. Suddenly, it began growing back its missing limp and closing the holes in its body as if she hadn't done a single damage to it.
What the goodness?
Nepgear hadn't noticed the hovering blue dogoos, who for some reason... had tentacles? Light began emanating from them as they began casting healing spells and buffs on the earth golems, who were already throwing projectiles at her once again. The arena was covered in dust and large craters, which made her let out a few coughs from inhaling some and blink away tears.
Healing dogoos? Great, just what she needs.
She was certain she had never seen this type of dogoo before, let alone one who could use magic. This wasn't the end, though. If she could dispose of them first, she might be able to turn the odds on her side.
But this is easier said than done. She didn't know if this was done intentionally or not but the dogoos were smart enough to hide behind those golems and not attack head-on like most do. Now that she thinks about it, the pack of wolves who acted as offensive, the golems as tanks, and finally the dogoos as support. It almost seems like the monster developed a strategy instead of attacking mindlessly. Whether she was dealing with intelligence foes or it was pure coincidence, one thing is for certain: she never encountered this type of behavior, which tells her that something is very wrong.
The two golems stop to summon more projectiles.
Now's my chance!
She dashed towards the golems and the distance was covered in the blink of an eye. She then aimed her gun blade at her feet once she was close enough. She fired at her ground to repeal herself up and flew past the golems as they were not her targets. She stabbed her blade into the dogoo's head as she landed, which made him explode into a goo puddle. The remaining two dogoos quickly switched to offense and began attacking. One dog was about to attack her with its tentacles, but she easily sliced them like butter jam.
"AHHHHHHHH!"
This time, Nepgear wasn't lucky. She wasn't fast enough to propel the second attack. the dogoo's tentacle managed to get hold of her wrist. Electricity flared up as she felt her body shake violently.
The dogoo was trying to paralyze her completely.
She tried her hardest to break free, but little by little, she felt her muscles becoming numb and losing feeling. At the corner of her eye, she saw that one of the golems was preparing to throw a huge boulder at them, and that dogoo was about to martyr itself to finish her off.
Damn it. I have to do something quick, or I'll be flattened.
Her finger was resting on the trigger. She summoned all her strength into her finger until finally she managed to fire her gun blade, which knocked her and freed her from the dogoo's hold. The same couldn't be said for the dogoo, as he was completely flattened like a pancake beneath the huge boulder.
Good riddance.
"Way too close." Nepgear groaned and slowly picked herself up from the ground. She was almost a gear-knuckle sandwich there. "Okay, no more messing around." Unfortunately, her right arm was half-numb, hindering her ability to shoot with accuracy and attack at full power, which put her in a really tight spot.
At least she could move her other arm just fine.
The last dogoo's tentacles began growing back. She wasn't going to give it time to recover, as she began firing. Almost all of them missed until the last hit the target, which stunned it momentarily, giving her an opening for a clean kill. She bolted and stabbed the dogoo right between the eyes and watched it explode into mere puddles. All of the dogoos were gone, with only a blue puddle remaining all over the place, and some managed to stick to her. She could smell the scent sticking to her.
Ugh. I need to take a shower after this.
She returned her attention back to the two golems, who began slowly pounding the ground with their feet. She felt the vibration coming from beneath. The battle ground was covered in dust storms, and it was filled with the smell of fresh dogoo gel mixed with her sweat and minerals.
"No more dogoos to heal you now."
The golems simply ignored her and raised their feet high in the air and, with might and force, dug their feet deep into the ground. Rocks began popping up from the ground and were coming towards her at great speed. Nepgear widens her eyes and quickly flew up to evade the attack.
She fired a couple of shots while in the air, but she only managed to hit the air. Nepgear then noticed a strange, glowing orb that was in the middle of the golem's body. The golems began forming a wall around them to protect themselves. This must be their weak spot, it seems.
checkmate.
She quickly flew towards the wall, dropped down, and thrust her blade through the red orb, completely shattering it, and the golem began slowly crumbling before her.
She fired multiple shots at the last golem before it had a chance to launch an attack. She hugged the wall with her hand but immediately winced as her weakened arm couldn't support her. She ignored the pain and fired her gun at the wall to launch herself at the last golem's exposed orb. She let out a cry before her blade pierced the last orb second, along with the golem.
Nepgear stood there, red-faced and sweating like a fountain. Her breathing became ragged, and the pain in her arm worsened due to her pushing herself hard. She leaned on her weapon while gripping her shoulder as she tried to get her breathing back to a normal rhythm.
She hoped this was the last of them, although it wasn't much of a horad, like Histoire said it would.
Nepgear felt herself low on energy. Which meant that she wouldn't be able to use her skills and would be forced out of HDD soon. She silently thanked IF for giving her a SP potion before she left. otherwise, this could have gone much, much worse.
Quick reminder: Always remember to bring a stack of SP supplies.
Lucky for her, she hadn't forgotten to bring a health potion. Nepgear took out a health potion and began gulping it down as if she were a baby. She felt the bittersweet drink going down her throat and she felt relief washing over her body. She tried to move but felt pain spark from her right shoulder as if she was injected with a thousand needles.
Right, the potion only speeds up the recovery process, not heals them.
Wincing, Nepgear took it slow and moved at a steady pace, being careful not to stain her injuries. Nepgear was about to retreat back with what little energy she had left but her eyes caught something in the distance. Among the shafts of the moonlight lay a shadowy figure on the ground, barely able to make out their feature in the dark.
Nepgear's sense of duty kicked in like a mule. She wasted no time and rushed to help the person, ignoring the pain from her injuries. She had to make sure they were okay. A bit of walking later, she was now an inch away from the body. Upon closer inspection, the body belonged to a girl. She had dark blue hair like sapphire. She wore a tie that matched her hair and it had a swirl mark. She wore a black open shirt and black fabric underneath covered most of her body.
After identifying the body, she grabbed hold of her wrist and checked for any pulses. She waited for a bit and let out a sigh after feeling one, though it was very faint. The girl's hand felt cold but not too cold like a corpse, which is probably not a good sign. Honestly, she is surprised that the girl is still alive in an area infected with monsters.
She needs medical attention.
Nepgear began searching the girl for anything that she could use to help identify her. She found none, only a large megaphone. It was a strange choice of weapon, but not surprising at the same time. Her idol friend, 5pb, uses a guitar as a weapon as well. Nepgear concluded that she was most likely an unfortunate adventurer who got knocked down.
It was dangerous to leave her unattended. she had to find a way to get her back to the city limit, which is going to be difficult due to her being low on energy so flying is out of the question, not to mention her injuries.
But before she could come up with something, she heard a low growl coming from the depths of the forest. She quickly directed her weapon at the source of the noise. She saw a single glowing red figure in the distance before a huge, shadowy figure towered over her. She saw long, sharp claws first on the edge of the shadow. Then, finally, the figure emerges from the darkness into the shaft of moonlight.
Nepgear silently cursed at her luck.
A Fenrir? You gotta be—of all things.
This was no regular Fenrir. It was bigger, a lot bigger, like she was in front of a huge hill. It had a long scar across it's left eye. One was red, and the other one with the scar was silver. His coat was thick and black as coal.
Nepgear silently cursed under her breath. She knew she wouldn't be able to take out a Fenrir head-on by herself, not in her current condition at least. Her fight-and-flight responses were triggered. Histoire said to retreat if this thing got out of hand, but she couldn't just leave the girl to her demise. She wouldn't be able to refer to herself as a CPU if she did that. It was her responsibility to protect people, even at the cost of her life.
I'm sorry, Histoire.
Nepgear took a deep breath and washed away any fears so it couldn't smell it. She tightened her grip on her weapon and hardened her stare at the beast before her so as not to appear weak but unfortunately, it could sense that she was injured and smell the blood. She prepared herself mentally and physically as if it were her last fight. She might not be able to win, but she can try to buy herself time as much as possible, find a way to distract it and then make a run for it.
The beast seems only interested in her and seems to ignore the unconscious girl beside her. The Fenrir let out a growl and extended its sharp claws before it rushed and closed the distance between them in a blink of an eye before it leaped with its sharp fangs open, ready to tear her clean. She dashed and rolled to the side.
Nepgear used the last of her energy to deliver a blow to the side. Starshine sent an electric charge through the beast. She then took out a potion and smashed it into his fur. The fluid on his body made the electricity flare up violently. The beast was stunned. Nepgear wasted no time and made a run inside the forest. As she was running, she was out of energy. She was enveloped in light and forced back to her human form, but she kept on running as she heard the beast let out an enraged shrill, then gave chase as it played the hunting game with her, with it being the hunter and her as the hunted.
She felt the beast slowly catch up to her as its footsteps became audible and shook the ground. A snippet of Nepgear's clothes got trapped in tree branches as she was fleeing, leaving a trail of blood behind. She felt her lungs burning along with her muscles, as if she were on fire. Soon, she ran out of breath before she took cover behind one of the trees and stopped herself from making a noise.
Soon, the beast caught up and began searching the area in search of its dinner. It began sniffing around until it picked up a scent nearby. Nepgear heard the monster coming closer as she clammed her mouth shut using her hand. Time seems to slow down, as the beast was merely an inch away from finding its prey. The Fenrir sniffed one last time on one of the trees before letting out a growl and jumping behind it.
Only to find... no one.
The beast was confused. It then noticed a piece of clothing hanging from a branch.
"HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
A loud cry came from above, surprising the beast and giving it no time to react quickly. Nepgear, having only her white night dress, leaped on to the beast and mounted it. The beast let out a loud roar before it thrashed wildly, trying to get her off of it. She attempted to maintain her balance by grasping its fur. She then summoned the last remaining of her power and thrust her blade deep into the beast's hide while slowly twisting it.
The Fenrir let out a bellow before he sent her flying onto a tree. Nepgear emptied the air in her lung once her back hit the tree. She felt like she had broken a few ribs and she wondered if she was still alive as she had lost all sensation in her body.
The Fenrir ran away while the blade was still stuck on it's back. Soon, his movement slowed down to a limp, and then finally to half before falling over, succumbing to its injury.
Nepgear is still lying on the ground. Slowly, her sensation returned to her fingers first, as she could move her fingers. Then she felt it coming back to her body as it finally registered all the pain in her body. Nepgear struggled to pick herself up from the ground. Her legs were trembling as she used the tree for support. Her legs felt like noodles and could snap at any moment.
The pain was immense.
She then felt the shares flowing into her slowly until she had just enough to move. She went to retrieve her sailor dress, which was in poor condition. It had many holes and scratches but she wore it back nonetheless. Next, she limped to where the Fenrir corpse was and retrieved the weapon from its back. She then made her way back to where she found the girl, each step felt like she was walking on a path filled with ignited coal.
Just a bit further, come on!
She kept telling herself to move. By the time she reached back to the girl, Nepgear collapsed just near her. Her legs finally gave up. She took out her N-Gear and pressed one of the contact named 'Histy.' After a few moments, she heard a voice coming from the device.
"Nepgear? Hello? Are you there? Where are you?"
"Histoire, I... need help." Nepgear managed to say but it came out quiet. She was beginning to lose her voice. "I found... someone. I'm sending you... my location. Please... hurry."
"Nepgear? Nepgear! Stay with me. I'm going to send help. Just hang on, my dear. Hello? Hello? Please Answer me—"
Nepgear couldn't hear as the voice got muffled and her vision darkened soon after.
(N)
It's been a few days since the attack. Thankfully, I've managed to stop it before things could escalate but not after nearly escaping with my life.
Histoire was not happy.
After a long scolding, she let me scout for free once I told her about the girl. She forbade me from working until I fully recovered. I spent the next few days bedridden. Thankfully, I managed to move but still, Histoire won't let me do any work. My right hand is still recovering and I can't move it so I won't be any good doing the paperwork anyway.
I got a lot of gifts, flowers, and cards from the staff and people wishing me well, which was heartwarming and helped me recover a lot faster.
Even Kei called to check on me.
They also brought the girl to the basilicom with me, which I was relieved to hear. The girl hasn't woken up yet, which was concerning but they said they haven't found anything wrong with her, and they expect her to wake up after resting for another few days.
Histoire seems to be uneasy about the whole thing. She said she could feel some negative energy within her, which was concerning to say the least, but it's only faint, according to her. But what's even odder is that Histoire couldn't find anything on her.
She said she went through her records to find anything but she came up with none. She said she needs another three days to confirm and will do another check on her records.
Poor Histoire. I keep making her worry all the time. I kind of feel bad. But it comes with the job as a CPU, I'm afraid. I feel like this is going to be a reoccurring thing in the foreseeable future.
Nepgear shut her Nep-Note after she was done mentally narrating the entry she wrote earlier.
Later that day, she and Kei were currently discussing the report of their previous mission after she had recovered enough to move again. Histoire was busy with the guild's work, as usual.
"However, from what we have gathered from the data, it appears that ASIC Remanats set out a lot of hidden hideouts scattered around Leanbox. We don't know the numbers yet, but this could lead to some future problems now as Leanbox has advanced military weapons that ASIC is stealing and distributing to other ASICs around the globe." Nepgear was listening intensely to Kei's report so they could discuss and determine their course of action.
"What about the monster attack?"
"ASIC might be to blame for those attacks by monsters but we don't know yet. They might have used them to divert our attention away for a purpose."
"If they did, then they are really good at covering their tracks because, for love of me, I couldn't find anything that ties back to them." Nepgear leaned back on her chair.
"Care to elaborate on that?"
"Well, I've sent a group of scouts to scout the area that the monsters come from. From what I've seen in their reports, they found nothing out of the ordinary or couldn't determine where the monsters came from, which can't be right. I have sent another scout just to be sure, and they've all reported the same. It's like they have appeared out of thin air."
"Hmm. That is indeed troublesome."
"I also found a girl lying in the middle of where the monster appeared. Histoire said that she could sense a faint of negative energy within her and couldn't find anything in her record about her or a mention of her name."
"Negative energy?" Kei raised her brow. "Is such a thing even possible? I thought those were vanished along with the Deity of Sin?"
"Normally, it shouldn't. Histoire is still looking at this matter as we speak to see if she can find anything in her record. We've run a data search, but we found nothing that matched her descriptions at all. I'm slowly starting to think that she's some sort of ghost since we can't find anything about her or even a record of her in any nation."
"I see... Well, there's a possibility that she could be living outside of the nations, or worse, an ASIC. We should take our precautions and lock her up and interrogate her."
"No, I'd rather not jump to conclusions without proof." Nepgear Those negative energies are faint, as Histoire said, but she could be misreading them. Once she wakes up, talk to her and see whether she's an ally or an enemy. And if it turns out she's ASIC, there's little she can do since the Basilicom already has the highest security.
"Alright, you do raise some good points. Anyhow, let's move on to a more pressing matter." Kei took out a report paper. "It came to my attention that the leader of the citizen movement, Rei. Ryghts, suddenly went missing after one of her tours yesterday. I've sent IF to look into it. We suspect it's the doing of ASIC remnants, as there seems to be a notable rise in their activities as of late."
"Wait. Something's not right... Why did they target Rei Ryghts of all people?" Something is quite right—pun not intended. Rei was probably the nicest person she's ever met, despite her indifferent views about CPU rulings, so what could ASIC possibly want with her?
"We can't tell yet. It might be because of your acquaintance with her but it's mere hypnosis. For now, our priorities are to find Rei. Ryghts and gather as much information as we can so we can stop ASIC. You and IF could have a look around and look for clues that can aid us after you fully recover."
"Sound good. Oh and uh, before you go... Is Mina still... you know?"
"She's currently handling Lowee's work. If your asking about that, unfortunately, I've tried countless times to reason with her, but she made it quite clear that she does not want to see you or want to do anything with you. I'm afraid."
"Oh, I see..." Nepgear let out a sigh.
What did I honestly expect? That's probably not going to change anytime soon.
"You really should not pay her any mind. She unfortunately let her emotions cloud her judgment, although I do not exactly blame her and can somewhat understand. I might not have fully forgiven you but I won't let that deter me from doing my duties as an oracle. Gamindustri comes first."
"Yeah, you're right." Nepgear shook her head. "I'll do my best and focus on protecting Gamindustri. Together. Thank you, Kei."
"That is what I like to hear. I'm glad I could help in some way. Farewell, Nepgear. I'll be in touch." Kei nodded as a smile slipped from her face.
The screen once again switched off. Nepgear got up from her seat and took off to wonder around her basilicom to check if everything was going well before she settled down in her office and began using her newfound energy on doing her work, the usual paperwork. Although she made extra sure not to strain her injured arm and took short breaks in between, by the time she was done, she heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." She saw the door slowly open. It was one of Basilicom's staff members. "Um, pardon me for my intrusion, Lady Nepgear."
"No worries." Nepgear waved her hand dismissively. "I have already finished with my work. So, is there something you need from me?"
"Oh, r-right." The lady straightened herself before speaking. "I just came to tell you that someone came here to visit and had asked for you."
"I see. Thank you. I'll head there shortly. You're free to go." The girl nodded before departing. Nepgear made her way down to the lobby and saw a face she hadn't seen in a long time.
"Ge-Ge!" Compa called out before going and engulfing her in the biggest hug she could give. She wore a white semi-maid outfit with detachable sleeves. She wore a red plaid skirt with an apron on it and long black socks. She had light, creamy hair and wore a nurse cap with a heart on it.
"Compa? Is that you?" Nepgear returned the hug and buried her head into her hair, which had a strawberry scent. "Wow, it's been a while since we saw each other, hasn't it?"
"I missed you so much. We have so much to catch up on." The two broke from the hug before Compa's face shifted into worry. "Are you okay? I heard what happened a few days ago."
"Oh, I'm fine now. Don't worry."
"Well, if you need someone to treat you, be sure to tell me, okay?" Compa waved her medical box that she was carrying. "I'm an official licensed nurse now." Compa's smile filled the place with sunshine.
"Oh, yes, I heard about that. Congratulations on becoming a nurse. I'm so happy for you."
"Hehe, thank you. I took a week off so we could hang out here after Iffy called me."
"Sup, Gear." IF gestured with her hand before she joined in. "Howya doin'?"
"Oh, hey, IF. I'm doing fine. You?"
"Same ol', same ol'." IF checked her phone, then went back to face them. "Well, I'll leave you two to catch up. I have a job now, so I'll take my leave."
"Wait, you're not joining us?"
"Yeah, iffy."
"Sorry, I came here to drop Compa off. Kei wants me for another job." Upon noticing that her childhood friend turned sad, she quickly followed up by saying, "But. I'll come back soon and the three can hang out and catch up. Okay?"
"Promise?"
"I promise."
"Okay!" Compa's mood turned one eighty, like someone flipped a switch. She was back to her cheerful self once again.
"Cool. Speaking of which..." She turned to her. "Kei wants us to do a little investigation around the city. After you fully recover, of course."
"Yes, she mentioned it to me earlier today."
IF nodded. "Well, I'm heading out now. Make sure our dear friend here is well looked after in the meantime." She put a hand on her shoulder, which earned her an eye roll from the CPU as she shrugged her off.
"Okey dokey! You can count on me."
"Catch you two later." both waved goodbye to their friend as she departed, leaving the two alone.
"So..." Nepgear started. "What do you want to do now?"
"Hmmm... Oh! I'll brew us some tea so we can chat over a cup of tea."
"That sounds wonderful. I'll see if Histoire can join us as well."
(N)
Night came fast, Nepgear's footsteps echoed through the hallways, and the staff only offered a brief greeting to their CPU as she walked by before continuing with their work as usual. She reached the room where the girl was. The two staff greeted her upon seeing her.
"Lady Nepgear." One of the staff members said to her. "The girl seems to be waking up."
"Thank you. I will take it from here."
"As you wish, Lady Nepgear."
The two left, leaving her by herself. She grabbed the handle and deliberately pushed it before she stepped inside, careful not to make too much noise as not to disturb the girl. Said girl was in the midst of waking up, as she began slowly shifting before she struggled to open her eyes. She blinked multiple times. After a moment, the girl quickly sat up in a state of shock and panic as she scanned her surroundings that were unfamiliar to her.
She hasn't noticed Nepgear yet. She took this opportunity to make her presence known to the girl by clearing her throat.
"I see you're awake. I was worried for a while."
The girl quickly got up and threw her arms up, ready to fight her.
"Woah, woah, easy. I mean you no harm." Nepgear raised her hand as a peaceful gesture to show her that she meant no ill intent. The girl continued to stare cautiously at her with her red eyes and didn't drop her fighting stand. She felt like those eyes bore a hole in her soul, but Nepgear paid it no mind and remained calm.
"Where am I?" The girl finally asked, or rather demanded. Her voice was both cold and sharp.
"We're at Planeptune's Basilicom at the moment. I'm Nepgear, by the way." She pointed at herself. Silence hung in the air once again.
"Planeptune...?" The girl seems surprised as she drops her arms. She then looked around for a bit, then turned back as she pointed at her. "Explain."
"Um, yes, I found you unconscious just outside of Planeptune's border and then you were brought here." The girl paused for a bit before pondering herself.
"So, um... your name."
"What?" This made the girl snap back from her train of thoughts as she cocked her head toward her.
"Sorry, you still haven't told me your name yet. Um... miss?"
"My name... huh?" The girl mused to herself slowly before she let out a dry chuckle, confusing Nepgear in the process. The girl finally looked at Nepgear with an oddly unsettling smile. The girl seems calm and her body shifts into a relaxed pose. Her demeanor seemed to change all of a sudden. The girl's eyes were now fixated on her, like a predator examining his prey.
Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
Nepgear brushed it aside, as it was not the time and she shouldn't jump to conclusions so quickly. Never judge a book by it's cover, they say. However, she can't help but feel like she's in the presence of something evil for some reason. She sensed that the girl had a mysterious and dark aura around her. The girl then finally uttered five simple words.
"My name is... Uzume Tennouboshi."
Author's Notes
This has taken me a long time since I was busy with college and the situation that's happening in Palestine took a toll on me after watching the news and seeing the horrible atrocities that are happening in Gaza. Anyone who has humanity in them knows that what's happening there is genocide and crime against humanity. All we can do is pray for them and help as much as we can by making our words known on behalf of the people of Gaza. #FreePalestine
I'm officially done with Victory and have moved on to playing MK2. So far, I'm in love with this game; it's so much better than Victory and the story is good. But I have to say that Victory is downgraded compared to MK2, in my opinion.
I also managed to get my hands on an OLED PS Vita for about 133 dollars, so I could play the other Neptunia games, such as the Re;birth trilogy and the spin-off games. And yes, I know I can get them on my PC for a lot cheaper but I prefer playing on consoles. I'm a PlayStation fanboy, and I like collecting all of the trophies from the games I play. After I'm done playing with MK2, I'll be playing the original Hyperdimension Neptunia. Yes, that one, and yes, I'm aware of the state of the game and the negative reception of it, but I want to give it a try. The problem is that there's no digital copy of the game, only a disc version, for some reason so I'll try to get my hands on one on eBay later.
Until next time, bye, and God help the people in Gaza.
Next Chapter: Old friends
After meeting with the mysterious girl whom she had saved, Nepgear spends quality time with friends.
