It feels endless.
Minoru thought that as he moved through the gathering of Marmods.
Each one he passed soon had their cores sliced through and fell to the ground. Their hardened bodies lay motionless as he moved on to the next one.
The ones who had their heads higher than he could reach without jumping were shot at from a different direction. The power behind the attacks was not much, but the repeated assault was enough to take them out.
Sniper Detective: "It's pretty easy to tell what you're worried about."
I don't doubt that. And that's overlooking her skills to figure that stuff out.
Being a bit distracted did not lower his skills, but it made him want to find a different way to go about all of this.
Grumpy Cat: "I still have eyes on the situation. It's fine. Maki is moving towards the meet up point without any issue."
Deer Prince: "It's the fact we weren't told everything about why he was needed that bugs me here."
Sniper Detective: "That makes sense."
Maki Roll: "How do you think I feel? Getting there is all fine and good, but I have no clue as to why I need to be the one to go."
Grumpy Cat: "I would guess it's important, but still, asking outright probably won't get many straight answers."
Maki Roll: "Don't we have someone here who is good at figuring things out?"
Sniper Detective: "I'm sort of busy with taking out Neighbors. But I'll figure it out when I have the free time."
The fact Svantje did not sound condescending or rude was a showing of her good nature.
But it was true that there were better things needing to be done than figuring out something from one of their own. If they truly doubted Jin's motives then they would not have let Maki go to begin with.
I just need to calm down. Getting worried or riled up will only cause issues.
Taking a deep breath, he felt his shoulders slump for a moment.
There was a small moment for them to rest as the Neighbors around them were not moving and did not appear to be housing any of the new models.
"Okay... We need to move on and see what else we can do around here."
This was a time they needed for focusing on their objectives.
Grumpy Cat: "It depends on if you want to keep taking out Neighbors or help others evacuate. With where you are right now, it would take you an equal amount of time to reach one of those options."
"It's up to you, Minoru-nii," said Svantje. She moved down to stand next to him.
"Let's go help out with the evacuation for now. Some people might be stuck in spaces because of the Neighbors, so I want to make sure they are fine to continue. Besides-"
Minoru's words were cut off as he felt a pressure reach him from his right.
A force had come from the side and wrapped something around his upper body while pushing him to the ground.
The force continued to move while dragging his body along the ground, causing a trail of dust and dirt to rise.
"Min-"
The sound of another body hitting the ground could be heard.
Grumpy Cat: "Where did they-... They hide their trion signatures!?"
No, they used the remaining ones from the ones we took out!
Two Rabbits had reached them with speed and power.
One had rushed Minoru and dragged him along the ground before coming to a stop with it standing directly on top of him. It's large hand held him in place and would not be cut by the Scorpion blade he had tried to bring out.
Even with my trion body...!?
Unlike most Triggers, Minoru's had been made so that even a simple punch would do a lot of damage to something. No Trigger needed to be activated to attack and his entire body was a weapon while fighting. But now...
Crap! was all he could think.
Even with his head and body slammed to the ground, he could see the second Rabbit had managed to grab hold of Svantje and hold her in the air.
The Rabbit's stomach began to open up as six insect-like cords circled around her.
The information they had been told came to mind.
These things capture Trigger users!
They were made for combat and capture of those who could fight back against them. Even more than that, their programming must have been a learning one as they had used an opening made from carelessness on their part.
Now all that he could do was struggle.
"Hah."
Then something happened.
"Seriously, what could be on your mind that you would get caught like this?"
A voice could be heard.
"Whatever. It isn't my place to criticize you on something irritating like that. So for now..."
The weight on top of him lifted.
"Just make sure you don't end up like this again. Hah. Got it?"
.
Hikigane Sekai was not someone who would normally put himself in someone else's fight, but this was different. It had not been a fight that he saw and it was not the time to think like that.
That was why he did not hesitate to bring the Kōgetsu in his grasp onto the Rabbit's arm.
Scorpion users like Kazama Squad would have a hard time with this, but there are weak points that could best be exploited using Kōgetsu.
The arm was cut clean off and began to fall. But...
"Hah."
Sekai did not allow it to do so.
The Rabbit, upon seeing its arm cut off, tried to back away.
Like kicking a soccer ball, Sekai used his foot to toss the severed arm diagonally into the air until it hit the Rabbit on the head. It did not hit due to the Rabbit using its other arm to block the attack.
"—"
With a swing of Kōgetsu, Sekai released an extended slash that cut through both the severed arm as well as the Rabbit's head.
He looked back down at Minoru as the Rabbit fell to the ground with a solid sound.
"And before you say it, Köhler is already getting help."
He jammed his thumb to where Svantje had been held in the air and Minoru's head followed the direction he was pointing in.
Sekai followed his own finger's path to see two people coming from behind the second Rabbit.
The first was the plain brat who had recently joined his squad. He had been worried about his younger brother earlier on, but that had been cleared up quickly. After that, he had remained focused on what was going on. And at the moment he was focused on attacking the insect-like cords trying to circle around Svantje.
And the second...
That idiot…
"Almost there..."
A blond boy had been reaching over the Rabbit's body and tried to reach the core in it's head.
"Jinsei, stop messing around or I'm going to kick your irritating ass!"
"Is that a promise?"
Feeling his irritation start to rise up, Sekai swung his arm in a snapping motion while letting go of Kōgetsu.
His two teammates responded quickly as Minoru rose to his feet.
Calm down.
Saying it would have been too much, so Sekai allowed his actions to speak for him.
.
Daigo was the first to react to the Kōgetsu flying towards them.
Simple Boy: "It looks like you got Captain-san mad again."
Life: "That's fine. We can just use that. By the way, how are things going over there?"
Simple Boy: "I have just about reached the point."
Life: "Good. Holding this thing down has been pretty annoying."
Jinsei smiled from his spot on the Rabbit's shoulder.
The entire time he had been climbing on the trion soldier it had tried to move away or strike at the two of them while trying to capture Svantje.
But...
Simple Boy: "Using Shield to hold down it's legs is a bit unorthodox, don't you think?"
Life: "It's fine, it's fine. You just need Kōgetsu to free Nikko-chan, and our lovely captain just gave me a way to attack now."
That was right. Jinsei had used a hardened shield to hold down the Rabbit's leg while it's other arm was held in place by a shield created by Daigo. It had prevented the Rabbit from moving and gave the two of them a chance to attack.
So they did.
Daigo completed his circling of the Rabbit and had made his way to the front of it. With a single motion, he pulled out Kōgetsu from his side and cut the six insect-like cords coming from it's stomach before striking the weaker parts of its arm.
The arm, along with its captive, fell to the ground.
Daigo reached out to grab a hold of Svantje before placing a blue plate on the ground and stepping on it.
"Please hold on for a moment."
With a sudden push from the blue plate, Daigo and Svantje were thrown back and away from the Rabbit.
At seeing what was happening to it, the Rabbit began to thrash about in order to get Jinsei off of it.
"Hahaha! This is pretty fun! Hey, hey, let's try it again sometime!"
As he spoke, the thrown Kōgetsu reached him.
Holding out his hand, Jinsei caught the Kōgetsu and let himself be thrown off of the Rabbit.
He was sent into the air for a moment before a blue plate appeared in his path.
He touched the plate with his foot and was thrown back to where he was been thrown off.
This time he attacked.
"...!"
With a single slash, the Rabbit's head fell to the ground with the body following soon after.
It had been defeated.
.
Svantje watched with amazement.
Grumpy Cat: "It's not surprising when you remember that they are former A-Ranks, but that is still pretty amazing."
Sniper Detective: "The addition of Daigo seems to have only improved their abilities."
Grumpy Cat: "Good thing they aren't just using him..."
It had been the first time she had seen Hikigane Squad fight alongside their newest member.
He seems to fit in well with them. And Sekai doesn't seem nearly as bothered by him as before.
It was certainly an improvement, but the more amazing part was how smoothly they went about fighting. None of them had missed a beat, even with the strange way Jinsei did things.
"Hah. These things really were irritating."
"You can't really say that with how you took it out~"
"Shut up. I'm saying it because of how I had to take it out."
"That's right, Vice-Captain-san. Captain-san would prefer to not make so many actions to take out a Neighbor. Since the first swing failed, he had to make a whole extra motion by kicking the arm."
"When did you get a mouth on you? Hah. Seriously, you're an irritating brat."
Even as he put her down, Daigo continued to answer back with a blank expression.
She had always found it to be similar to the one Hisoka wore daily, but there was a clear difference between the two of them.
There are things to worry about the both of them, but Daigo had a bit more concerning matters. At least from what I've heard from Lukas and Ken. It's good to see that he won't be ending up like his captain.
She nodded in appreciation at Daigo once he put her down.
Looking over his shoulder, she saw Sekai giving another sigh as Jinsei handed him his blade back.
I don't need to bring it up, but his situation is really starting to show with his actions.
The way Sekai held himself even now, among allies, was a clear indication of his intentions. It had only been recently that she solved a certain mystery surrounding him and one of Border's A-Ranks agents, but there had been little time to do anything about it.
So for now...
"Hah. From the way things look, I don't think it would be good to have so many of us out and crowded together at the moment," he said while putting a hand to his head.
WorTri: "Shinoda-san, may I go over something and get your input here? Anyone else, you are with would also be helpful."
Shinoda: "That's fine, Sekai."
I guess they recovered quickly after the bombing attack.
That was a good thing, she thought. It meant that they would not need to worry about lag between communications.
"Right," he started.
WorTri: "There are a lot of differing factors to consider at the moment. The ones that are connected are clear. Kumokawa, can you place them here for everyone to see?"
Cloudy River: "Sure thing. Just give me a moment... There we go. Just say what you want and I'll make sure the directors and those with you will see what's going on. Wagner-kun will also be getting it to go over it all."
Grumpy Cat: "Thanks for the consideration."
Svantje blinked as a string of words and lines appeared before her eyes.
Each piece that was being sent began to organize itself before her eyes until it was all placed properly to the side so that her vision would not be obscured by it all.
WorTri: "First we have all of the Gates opening and the trion soldiers attacking from multiple angles. Attacking from a single point is always an idiot's thought process when using numbers. From there, we have the new models coming after the more basic trion soldiers were taken out. Those are irritating for A-Ranks and worse for B-Ranks. They are manageable for the right people and squads, so that would also place Border as a whole as a group who can deal with them to an extent."
Life: "Wouldn't Jin and Mei have already seen what's going to happen?"
"This is meant for something else."
It was interesting to see Sekai's demeanor vastly different from how he usually was. There was no sighing and he held himself properly.
WorTri: "Now that whoever is in charge has seen that we can handle their new models, they will either send ones stronger than that, or-"
"They will come themselves."
Svantje blinked again as the words came from her mouth.
Everyone turned to her, making her give a slight laugh.
The words had naturally come out as a result of reaching the same conclusion as Sekai. It had been a good thing that that was all there was to it.
No one seemed to mind her cutting off the B-Rank captain.
"Yeah. They will be coming by to do whatever it is that they have planned. Now that they know we can handle their new models, they would need to come themselves or else they would only be losing ground."
Shinoda: "So we should prepare for those in charge to come then."
WorTri: "That is only speculation, so try not to take it as fact."
Sekai had not meant to say it against her, so she thought nothing of those words. They were just the truth of the matter.
It was only logical for that to be what would happen.
It did not mean that it actually would.
But then...
"Target confirmed. A flock of baby birds. They're evacuating the citizens."
"Of course. No wonder nobody came out when we disturbed their nest."
"Now then. Let's capture those baby birds. Miden's manpower is now favorably dispersed. Everything is ready for the Rabbits to carry out their mission. The investigation by our Rads revealed that the baby birds' Triggers don't have an escape function. All of you, go play with the Miden soldiers, so the Rabbits can do their jobs."
"Hm. Looks like even a small animal can have a nasty poison in them," said Pyr.
They all look at the screens to see a large shot fired, destroying one of the Rabbits.
The amount of durability the Rabbits had compared to other trion soldiers was not something to be overlooked. Some had managed to cut through it before, but those times had been due to their weak points being hit. Any other direct hits had been relatively useless.
Seeing a single shot fired before the Rabbit was taken out had been something to catch all of their attention.
"That trion reading sure is amazing. I would love to make that creature my personal pet."
"Was that a Black Trigger?" asked Hairein while looking back at the footage.
"No, not a Black Trigger. The reading was of a normal Trigger... Or should be."
"A new enemy!? They've destroyed two modded Rabbits already!"
"It's not a combatant, but one of the baby birds. But these numbers..."
"A golden goose. How unexpected..." Hairein looked up and started looking from one of them to another while saying, "Ranbanein. Enedora. Pyr. We'll send you through a Gate as planned. Scatter the Miden soldiers and support the Rabbits. But don't go all out. We're only looking to scatter them. Mira's Trigger will retrieve you if you get in danger. And you, you will do the same."
"'Danger'? As if Miden's small fry could hurt me!" Enedora said, getting an agreement from Pyr.
"Viza. Hyuse. Go after the golden goose, we might be lucky enough...to acquire a new god."
In four different places, Gates opened up.
One opened up to show a black haired man with black horns.
The #3 A-Rank team saw this Gate.
One opened up to show a man with red hair and regular horns.
Two Snipers saw this Gate.
One opened up to show an orange haired girl with regular horns.
A new A-Rank saw this Gate.
One opened up to show an old man and a young man with horns.
Agents from a certain branch saw this Gate.
"Commence with combat."
So it has finally begun... Good~
He wore a grin that went unnoticed by everyone else.
The one with endless information was slow to step forward.
He lowered his shoulders as a laugh escaped his lips.
One battlefield that was located southwest of the Border base had an old man and a young man.
"Oh dear. I'm not sure I feel quite right about abducting children."
"It's our duty."
This was the battlefield that also contained Tamakoma Branch's strongest team.
One battlefield that was located east of the Border base had a black haired man with heterochromatic eyes.
"It's a humanoid Neighbor, Kazama-san."
"Yeah, and... He has black horns. Seems like we drew the short straw."
This was the battlefield that also contained the #3 A-Rank team.
On a separate and moving battlefield stood a woman with orange hair.
"Only one person? I'm gonna have to complain to Mira after this."
She turned to her opponent and let out a sigh.
"At least it's not bad looking. Hey, how would you like to come home with me and be my personal pet? I'll treat you kindly~"
"Nope. I already have a lot to take care of, so I don't need you. Thanks for the offer and the opportunity to come and fight, but..."
Tsukiko Yuki held a pole in his hand. The pole was completely black and was the length of his arm. One end had a pointed end while the other had a blunt end.
He spun the pole in his grasp.
The moment he stopped spinning the pole, a blade made of trion formed at the end of the pointed end.
It was a crescent blade.
"I'm going to take you down now."
"Fine. I guess I'll just blow off your legs so you can run. By the way, what is the name of my new pet?"
"I don't know."
"Quite the tongue you have. Guess I'll just cut it off."
"I see. Alright. I'll head over there right away. Just wait for me."
Ketsueki turned to the B-Rank team he was with. He had been helping them while also regrouping with the other agents.
"I am sorry, but I must be going to assist in guiding the C-Ranks to the base. I have no doubt that Rei-san and the others are more than capable of something like that, but I have been having this bad feeling for a while now. If you do not mind..."
"No. By all means, head over to assist them."
"Right. Some other B-Rank teams should be around this area, so just meet up with them and you should be fine."
"Right!"
.
Oshiro and Hitsugi watched Ketsueki take his leave by jumping onto the buildings.
They had heard Kimura tell them that there really were some B-Ranks nearby and got ready to meet up with them.
They had been moving as a group since meeting each other. Their current objective had been to take out as many Neighbors as possible while regrouping with others.
Now that they knew other B-Rank agents and teams were nearby they had a new objective. Prioritizing regrouping seemed to be the best solution for everyone who was currently separated.
Knowing that, Hitsugi let out a frustrated sigh once she noticed that Misó wasn't moving faster.
"Hey, Misó, why don't you-"
Bail Out.
Oshiro turned around at hearing his teammate getting cut off.
He jumped up a split second after.
He landed on one of the buildings and looked down to see Misó looking up at him with a large grin.
Misó Epanástasi was the type of person anyone could hate. He loved seeing others in pain, while also liking any pain brought upon himself. He was a selfish person who only cared about information, pain and himself, so it would not be too far off to say he was someone who should not have been allowed in Border to begin with.
Something like this shocked his squad though. They knew he could be the worst person to know at times, but they did not think he would purposely cause someone to Bail Out while in the middle of an invasion.
Resistance: "What the hell, Misó!? Why the hell did you-"
"Trigger off."
Misó could no longer hear the Shooter anymore.
He was now in his real body.
"Kirai-kun, what are you..."
"Hey, captain... I hate you."
Misó continued to grin as he spoke.
"I hate every single thing about you. I'm not saying this to 'encourage you to win' or anything. I seriously hate you with every ounce of my being. You are the one who hurts my pride the most. You hurt it beyond even the point of enjoyment. You have information that even I don't know, and even when you get hurt you put that same fucking smile on. You have absolutely no idea how many times I wanted to just break every bone in your body, smash your face in, and then dump you off somewhere for the crows to peck at your barely living form that wouldn't even be recognizable to someone with 100% perfect memory."
Oshiro started with wide eyes as Misó continued to say these things with a grin in place.
"Oh, and one more thing... My name is Misó. Just Misó. You can stop calling me 'Kirai' now. I am Misó of Aftokrator."
Oshiro froze.
He could not properly register what had just been said. Multiple things rushed through his head.
He was lying, right?
It was not possible for him to be one of them, right?
He just wants to see pain again, right?
If he really was from Aftokrator, then he would have...
"Págos."
He was back in a trion body. This one was different from the one before. Instead of being in the Hogo Squad uniform, he was now wearing a gray and black outfit that had a large coat covering it.
This was the proof. The proof that he was telling the truth.
"Now, let's begin."
So irritating...
Sekai gave a dragged out sigh as news of the humanoid Neighbors came in.
Some of us were told about these guys and what to expect from them, but for them to show up when I called it out like that...
"Tch. So damn irritating."
WorTri: "Can I get the information as to where all of the humanoid Neighbors have shown up?"
GM Aide: "Already sending it to Kumokawa."
Cloudy River: "Got it. I'll display it on a map for all of you."
Multiple markings appeared on the map in front of his eyes. Everyone else had gotten the same details, so he did not wait to begin again.
"Two where the Tamakoma members are helping C-Ranks. One in front of Kazama Squad. One at Azuma-san and Taichi's location. One where Yuki is fighting. And..."
The final one.
Sekai gave another sigh.
"Misó, who is in front of Hogo."
"That guy... So that was his situation."
Even Jinsei's idiotic personality was covered up at the information they had gotten.
"This was to be expected."
It was irritating to say, but it was the truth.
They had all known that there was something wrong with the Hogo Squad member from the start. Now that everything was happening, they were able to see what it was all about.
WorTri: "Then we was right. They are completely after our weakest people - the C-Ranks. The fact humanoid Neighbors are coming here now means that we were getting in the way of the new models, who were trying to take the C-Ranks. So that means they are not trying to take our strongest to make us weak, instead they are trying to take our weakest so that we don't get any stronger."
He had seen it before.
There had been people in their own world who had done things like that before, just so that the other side would not be able to recover as easily after defeat.
It was irritating.
Maki Roll: "So we're going to go help who we can, right?"
WorTri: "No. We will be splitting up from here."
Maki Roll: "But-"
Deer Prince: "Maki, Jin had asked for you to meet up with him. You should follow through with that."
Life: "He did? Then yeah, go over there. Besides, if our captain says that we're splitting up, that's what's going to happen. He's a lazy guy, but he knows what he's doing."
It was good to know that he still had the trust of his teammates.
But...
Sekai extended out his leg to kick Jinsei on the side.
"What was that for!?"
"Back to this."
"Don't just ignore me!"
"Hah."
"And don't just sigh!"
Sekai relaxed as Jinsei continued with his antics.
His stupidity had always been a mystery, but it always worked to calm others down, rile them up, or set them back into their own pace.
He had done so here.
Sekai felt some tension leave him as Jinsei began to wiggle around off to the side.
"Hah. Alright, this is what we will do. Minoru and I will stay on the battlefield here. We will go help with the nearest humanoid Neighbor. You three, go back to the base."
"But the Neighbors are attacking the city."
"For now."
Sekai gave another sigh.
"Just because they are attacking the city doesn't mean they can't change to attacking the base. Actually, I expect they will. Hah. These new models - Rabbits - were made to capture Trigger users. Them being on the outside and fighting makes sense if they are going for trion sources. But there are even more inside of the base, so that can also be considered a target. Besides that, taking out the head is always a good strategy in situations like these. So if they-"
Kuro-Shi: "How are things going for you, Sekai?"
.
Sekai stopped.
His entire body froze for a moment as the words came in front of his eyes.
There was more than just Border connected to him and messaging him.
And this person was someone who outranked them all.
Kuro-Shi: "Kanetsugu and Saitou have already begun evacuation over here, so I want to check on you. Kumokawa has not answered, so I will assume she is busy. You are also probably busy, but I want to ask you anyway."
...Sorry for the trouble.
He did not say it out loud, but the meaning of his words were etched into him. A simple statement held a lot when it was being directed to this person.
Kuro-Shi: "Ah... The remaining employees are far enough away now. Now I can properly tell you."
What he wanted to say would be important.
Sekai made sure to pay close attention.
Kuro-Shi: "To tell you the truth, I'm absolutely terrified here! Those things are so scary, and I have no idea how you fight them! I'm worried about the animals too... Oh, thank goodness. Saitou just told me that the animals are fine and safe. Anyways! This whole thing is so scary! Oh, but..."
But...
Kuro-Shi: "I know things will work out. Border always looks so cool. But more than that, they have someone like you working for them. Yeah, it's pretty scary, but you will make sure things work out well. Oh, looks like everyone is waiting for me. Once this is all done, I'll take us out for something nice. I promise. Now then... Make sure to do your job properly, Sekai."
The message ended as quickly as it came.
Sekai could feel his mouth begin to twitch and threw a hand over his mouth.
There was an invasion going on, so feeling any sort of joy about those messages would be wrong.
And more than that.
I need to make sure everyone else has their happiness after all of this.
There was no time for his own.
Looking back to everyone around him, he saw them all looking at him with curiosity. The only exception was Jinsei, who had moved to start doing some poses.
That idiot.
He knew how to bring back Sekai's usual pace with his simple idiocy.
"Hah. Let's hurry up already. Everything here is irritating enough as it is."
With solid motions, a basic model Rabbit was filled with Lead Bullets as a Marmod was pierced by multiple trion bullets.
A blade came from below as the Rabbit began to fall to the ground. The blade moved upwards and in a single motion cut through the Rabbit.
Once it had been stabbed, the blade was brought up before moving down to cut through its stomach. Cubes of trion fell to the ground as someone stood over the fallen trion soldier.
Wisteria: "This is Takato. I have taken care of some more Rabbits."
Shinoda: "Good job. I know you wanted to make it to the base, but things have changed. Rather, it's like you and Jin saw. Humanoid Neighbors have come from the Gates and are now fighting our agents. Yuki is currently fighting one by himself, but we don't know what they are capable of. Go over there and help him."
Wisteria: "I'll go over right away."
Shinoda: "And Mei. Make sure not to give it too much thought."
A bitter feeling welled up in Mei's chest as her mind started working. It was not to the full capacity, but all pieces of information began to form different outcomes and different paths to those outcomes. Numbers flew across her mind as images and words found places to stay for the time being.
The calculations had already begun.
Certain random thoughts were added into those calculations.
Alongside those thoughts were thoughts of other people.
These calculations had been put through multiple simulations in her mind as she continued her fights. Simulations for the C-Ranks, simulations for her team, simulations for the grouping B-Rank teams, simulations for the boy who had taken out the second Illgar, simulations for the Tamakoma members fighting, simulations for Yuki, simulations for those at the Border base, simulations for anything and everything except herself.
These calculations and simulations had all been because of the information she was given by the one who had seen the future of things - Jin Yūichi.
Due to the nature of their Side Effects, they could either match each other to create the most optimal future or run parallel to each other and create an uncertainty that ended terribly for everyone involved. One could predict the other, yet also get interrupted by it. Nothing could be set in stone when taking both into consideration.
Jin, I'm trying here. I'm trying to force the world towards the future you want. But I can't go against myself. I want to force everything to go your way, but I have to be there for Yuki. Please accept my apology later. After that, I will help you once more. I will help by forcing everything towards the best future you see.
Something had been in her mind within every simulation she saw.
It was difficult for her to put in words what it had been, but there had been something in her mind that created abnormalities in her simulations and calculations.
2.7 Maime: "Mei-chiaaaaaan!"
Mei jumped up at the sudden voice that broke through her thoughts.
2.7 Maime: "Don't worry yourself too much. Don't worry about what you don't know. Don't worry about us over here. Don't worry about anything but yourself and the fights you have to reach in this invasion."
"Jin..."
Letting out a breath, she placed her hand to her ear.
Wisteria: "Okay. I'm sorry for this and that. I'll give you a proper apology later, so please accept this rushed one. For now, I need to go fight with Yuki. But when we are done here... When we have time for that apology, I want you to tell me something. I want you to tell me what parameters I am missing."
2.7 Maime: "Not too sure I can help with that. I'll try, but no promises."
Mei gave a nod, knowing that she was the only one who could understand that nod.
"That is good enough for me."
She gave a second nod.
This understanding extended with it, letting her ease her mind a bit so that she was no longer calculating and no longer making pointless simulations in her mind.
.
Letting out a sigh, Mei began to move, this time unfazed by the voice that came to her ears.
Honest Sister: "Mei-san?"
Wisteria: "Suzume. Sorry I haven't been helping you guys out. I was busy getting rid of some Neighbors. I will make up for this once everything is settled."
Werewolf: "Wait, since when did you fight!?"
Colors: "Now isn't the time for that. Mei-san, do you know where Yuki-senpai is? We are going to go help him out."
Wisteria: "I'm headed over there right now. I've been told he, along with others in different areas, are fighting humanoid Neighbors, so your help will be useful. I'll send you all the coordinates."
Colors: "Alright. Thank you."
Wisteria: "Hurry up. And don't be late."
Mei let out a sigh as she sped through the battlefield. She was not using the Trigger that was made just for her, so she felt like her pace was agonizingly slow. She did not let that get to her.
There was no reason to worry about other things.
