Chapter 4: Combatual Habits
"Is it REALLY necessary to do that now?!' Erick groaned from his bed as Sapphire huffed out his last push up as Astro jumped up and down on his back.
"Keeping my strength up is important, now that I'm not wearing most of my heavy armor." the blue haired boy replied calmly. "Now that I'm not bound by the weight, I can improve on much more speed focused combat. Without a semblance, I'll certainly need to be quicker on my feet."
"Weeee!" Astro jumped off Sapphire and paraded around the room." Uncle Erick grumpy! Zoom!"
"It's freaking seven thirty!" Erick groaned.
"We have class at nine." Moon replied, not opening his eyes from a simple cross meditation on his bed. "You should be used to this Erick, living in the winter's boarding school and all."
"We didn't have class there until nine as well, but I didn't have Jeff, Tony, or Giovanna waking me up at the crack of dawn with strength training!" Erick grumbled.
Moon shrugged as he uncrossed his legs and stood up. "You're our resident genius, so I'm counting on you to be able to keep up with notes and stuff so I can keep reporting to the council. Our first report deadline is today, and I doubt they'll be satisfied with one biography on Weiss and a mild explanation of what Ozpin told us."
"Well, hopefully combat class will be a good way to learn about the other member's fighting styles." Sapphire replied, making his way over to the kitchen. "Ozpin already said he's going to have you and Sarah do recorded fighting to report to a government council of his own."
Moon didn't say anything to the boy's response. Instead making his way towards the bathroom to hopefully clean himself off and clear his head. Nothing was worse than the repeated nightmares of Dyson's body stacked on a pike with Sarah, Erick, and Sapphire's just closing behind.
He opened the bathroom door and found Sarah looking in a mirror, her golden hair was currently wrapped up in a towel, and her body was thankfully covered in the Beacon Uniform. Though, Moon did note that the uniform skirt was much shorter than what her usual dress covered.
He shook his head and tried to completely ignore her as he walked by. However, she turned around to look at him, her sweet smile made him shiver just a little. She stepped up to him and wrapped her arms around him.
His memory flashed again, his own blood leaking out of his mouth as he had her pinned against the ground, his geokinesis allowing him to hold her down with the earth.
He shivered and shook his head, pushing her away gently as he blinked back to reality.
"Moon?" He looked at her stunned face, she looked like she was trying her best not to cry. "Are...are you...okay?"
"Y-Yes." Moon replied. "I...I just wanted to...shower."
Sarah shook her head, he knew that she doubted him, but...what was he supposed to tell her?
"Just...prepare yourself for the battles we're supposed to do to show off our PSI." Moon whispered, his voice was much lower than normal. "It...it has been awhile since you last had to fight." seeing her still doubting look, he quickly added. "I'm fine...Sarah, really."
"O-Okay." Sarah sighed. She walked out of the bathroom as Moon stepped up to the shower.
His body spazzed a little as he shook in the shower. Trying to clear his thoughts from everything. He was used to the pain from Dark Moon, but...it felt awful sometimes. Like someone was constantly kicking him in the head.
He hurriedly dried himself off and stepped out, putting on the two piece suit that male students were required to wear when not doing combat class, as much as he detested changing his clothing at this time.
He walked outside and sat down at the table with Sarah and Astro as Sapphire slid a plate of pancakes in front of them.
"Bon appetit!" The blue haired boy said. "Hopefully I've learned from Her Majesty's cooking courses."
Erick grumbled as he pulled himself out of bed and stumbled over to the bathroom.
"So...Sapphire…" Sarah addressed him after a somewhat awkward silence as Moon just picked at his pancake, not saying anything. "You've already had training in magical experience under Edelgard and your axe seems to work perfectly fine...are you sure that…"
"Yes, I'm certain that learning combat here would be good." Sapphire replied quickly. "Plus, Ruby said they have a workshop where we could modify them. I'm quite curious to see what they could do with my Hero's Relic."
"I doubt we'd be able to modify Saphira." Moon muttered quietly. "Unless I could get it into that weird Rapier that Weiss has."
"Her rapier has carriers for that strange Dust." Sapphire replied. "Erick was reading about it last night, apparently, the function is somewhat like your elemental energy blasts. They can make bullets, beams, some people have even been known to inject themselves with it!"
"Sounds...dangerous." Sarah gasped.
"Yes, well, the people known to inject dust normally have some sort of special semblance that allows them too." Erick sat down at the table as Sapphire slid a plate over to him. He took out one of the Scrolls, the weird Iphone looking device they had seen Ruby use, and opened up their schedule for today.
"Alright, looks like we've got. Grimm Studies at Nine." the genius continued. "Then History, Dust Studies, and then Combat. That'll likely be where Ozpin gets observation footage for you two's powers."
"If I may jump in here," Sapphire swallowed the last bit of his own pancake and looked at Moon and Sarah. "It may be better for you two to...hold back."
"What makes you say that?" Sarah asked.
"Because," Moon muttered. "If we show ourselves being too powerful, red flags would certainly be raised. I'd imagine that Ozpin's council will demand him to go behind our backs, regardless of how we perform. This information will likely be shared with the leaders of the other Kingdoms' academies, and that could get ugly."
Sarah nodded her head and flipped through a magazine that popped up on her scroll. A sudden gasp from her made the three boys flinch.
"What?" Moon asked, his voice sounded much more concerned instead of dead and emotionless.
Sarah flipped the magazine down on a certain page, where an advertisement was shown for a particular new video game that had just recently come out.
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Deluxe!
The sixth installment in the popular Video Game All Star fighting game franchise, Super Smash Brothers, is coming. Alongside all the returning fighters from the fifth installment. Brand new characters such as Moon and Sarah from the very popular Mother 4, as well as Sapphire Clypeus from the remastered Fire Emblem Three Houses joining the roster of all star veterans.
Listed below was render art for the three of them, as well a picture of Erick as an assist trophy. Though, as Moon thankfully noted, all of their designs were not identical to what they looked like now. His design was his old look, a blue hoodie and baseball cap, with both blue eyes still intact, and no silver eye covering it.
In Sarah's case, her render art showed her wearing a purple dress with black polka-dots, and her ribbon was a black ribbon. She also wore her wedding ring and star pendant given to her by Moon. Both of which they had thankfully left at home with Ness.
Lastly, for Sapphire, his blue hair was much shorter, mirroring his design before the five year Timeskip. He also was wearing his red heavy armor, which he had left behind in Gladio. Quite hilariously, in his render art, he was holding a sword with Stalwart-terra behind his back.
"Well...that's not good." Moon muttered. "I guess Ruby plays Video Games in that case, that would explain why she thought she recognized us."
"Is this really a surprise though?" Erick asked, shaking his head. "I mean, the Multiverse always shows the connections to each other in each cluster. In Sapphire's world, they're legends passed down through stories, in our world, they were video games as well."
"What date did Mother 4 and the Three Houses Remastered come out?" Moon asked curiously.
"According to this record's site, five years ago." Erick replied. "Though, the stories are...uh...wrong. In our game, we're never listed as Giygas' children, and our Dark Sides were the final boss. We also apparently have a happy ending due to playtesters being unsatisfied with the ending. In Sapphire's case, Moon just never appeared in the game, so his ending is dependent on his support rank with other characters. Fans strangely liked his ending with Edelgard."
Moon looked up at the clock. "We've got to be in class soon," he said quietly. "If Ruby DOES put pieces together, it wouldn't hurt to come clean. That might scare them into submission, knowing that we could summon someone like Sephiroth or Kirby with the snap of our fingers."
His friends nodded their heads in agreement.
"Astro, you stay in this room!" Sarah said, looking at the Mr. Saturn. "And don't you get into trouble here, mister!"
Astro jumped up and down. "Weeee! Zoom! Okay Momma Sarah! Bing-Bong."
Moon slammed his head against the desk of the Grimm Studies Class. Sure, he was used to schools and learning, he had just come from Garreg Mach Monastery, but this was awful! The professor was a large man with an equally large mustache, and, while he had hoped for someone who was a professional expert in Grimm, this man went off on more tangential stories about himself than your recently divorced English Teacher.
Thankfully, it didn't seem like he was alone. Sapphire also had similar disdain for this, which said a lot as he was one of the most respectful students back at Garreg Mach, and even Erick was struggling to keep his head up as he scribbled down notes about Grimm in the Demonrift.
Granted, the class was somewhat helpful, as it showed that Grimm had different weak points that could often be targeted quite easily, depending on the species of the creature. However, from what he could gather about Grimm from the moments he TRIED to listen, Erick seemed to be right about the whole 'Freddy-Krueger Theory.' Since he, Sarah, Erick, and Sapphire didn't really fear the creatures, it was likely that Grimm would never be a problem for them. Unless Salem could override their brains or some shit.
The hair on his head stood up as he felt something take his hand from behind their large, connected desks. He looked over to Sarah, who looked tired, but somewhat happy to be holding his hand.
Moon's memory flashed back to that earth wrapping around her, and the blood and tears all over her face as Nightmare stalked over her in his body. Touching and rubbing her all around.
"STOP IT!" Moon tore his hand from hers and punched his head. Thankful that his shouting during his memories took place internally so he never talked out loud during them. The punch stopped the memory and tore him back to reality.
He looked at Sarah, who looked just as concerned as ever by his strange behavior. When he reluctantly rejoined their hands together, he felt her grip tighten on him. The pain, as per the usual at this point, never faded.
"Eh, you're a real stinker sometimes." Dark Moon hissed at him. "I may have hated Nightmare as much as you. But that's not going to stop me from using the memories that haunt you!"
Moon muttered nonsense to himself as he simply put his head down, it was better to relax and try to clear the thoughts he had, that way his Dark side didn't take over during combat.
The rest of the day went about as typical as your normal school day would expect. The basic history of the world told a tale that they had already skimmed and covered on their first day. (Though, in Moon's mind, something felt off about what was told). The professor in that class was a man who drank WAY too much coffee. His rapid fire speaking was difficult to keep up with, though, thankfully, that was what Erick was here for.
Dust studies was an amusing class to say the least, if you could call absolute chaos from certain students not knowing how to handle the elemental crystals properly. Though, it was strange to think that these crystals could be used for just about anything at this point.
"I can sense a great deal of traps and pranks that could be utilized with proper knowledge." Sapphire had whispered to him, after Ruby activated an Ice elemental and, in her panic, had tossed it at the unsuspecting professor, freezing him solid. "Perhaps we should look into getting our hands on some to see if they can amplify Sarah's more elemental PSI."
Moon only nodded his head in response. Though, how they were going to find Dust, let alone secretly stash it for testing purposes in their one dorm was beyond him.
Finally, after a long, long day. The time finally came for combat class with Professor Goodwitch.
Moon noted that the class seemed to take place in some sort of arena-like stadium, while they had not been told of anysort of sports or something, he assumed this was strictly for combat training as a hunter or huntress. Glancing around, it didn't take long for him to spot Professor Ozpin, who was accompanied by another strange man with a camera.
Professor Goodwitch cleared her throat as the class settled down
"Now, as I'm certain you are all aware," she started. "Four new students joined as a late minute addition this year." Moon noted that her tone was greatly disappointed, almost mildly irritated at best. She even had a fixated glare focused in team MESS' general direction.
"Now, normally we would allow them to continue on as normal students. However, two of them have revealed abilities that Professor Ozpin finds...intriguing. In order to test their skills,we'd like to have a sort of...exhibition match, between the two of them, and two of you."
Sarah looked at him with a hint of concern, nothing new that he wasn't used to. After all, with not much knowledge, and them being up against what were essentially first year students, there was reason to be concerned. Though, in all fairness, the Aura granted natural protection to whoever they may fight, so that was lucky.
"Moon, Sarah," Professor Goodwitch said firmly. "Your opponents today will be Mrs. Nickos, and…" the professor's eyes seemed to scan around the room, which took a very distinct turn as some students were shifting in a method to hide themselves, while others, (Like Ruby), looked about ready to jump out of their chairs and volunteer as tribute.
Contrary to that, Pyrrha looked rather concerned herself. As did Jaune.
"I think yesterday certainly had an impact on this." Erick grumbled to him. "Next time you drag us to another world, try not to kick the bully's ass first."
"Um…Mrs. Rose." Professor Goodwitch finished.
"YEAH!" Moon groaned at Ruby's excited cheer. Something about the youngest member of both teams felt...off. Well, granted, apart from Pyrrha, every member of teams RWBY and JNPR looked like they'd need overhauls. As for what their problems were, that remained to be seen.
Moon motioned for Sarah with his head and the two of them stepped down to the small arena that Professor Goodwitch had with them. Pyrrha and Ruby followed suit, standing on the opposite side of the arena.
Moon unsheathed Saphria as Sarah removed Freya from the sash around her waist.
"Don't forget," Moon whispered. "Try and hold back. I'll utilize strategies from our training under the Super Smash Brothers." Sarah nodded her head, while Sapphire and Erick looked down from the stands.
"You think they'll be alright?" Sapphire asked.
"As long as "They." don't show up." Erick replied, a hushed tone overcoming his voice.
Down in the Arena, Pyrrha and Ruby looked at each other.
"Ready?" Pyrrha asked.
"Absolutely," Ruby replied excitedly. Both looked across at their opponents, something about Moon's absolute dead stare from his only exposed blue eye was uncomfortable enough. But, even Sarah seemed to have a worried expression.
"Now, I want a fair enough fight, you are being monitored by the Council." Professor Goodwitch said firmly. "Now, start!"
Ruby dashed forward, twirling herself up in her cloak hood as the rose petals started fluttering from behind her.
Moon's eyes scanned through as the young red huntress swirled around him. However, those stupid rose petals made that a nightmare.
"PK Fire γ!" Sarah used her pyrokinesis to blast a heatwave throughout the area. Pyrrha blocked the heatwave with her own small shield as the flames knocked Ruby out of the sky.
Moon charged forward and clashed his sword against Pyrrha's. Both swords klanged against each other, thinking quickly, Moon did a quick leg sweep to trip the red huntress up, before channeling his PSI powers through his sword and blasting Pyrrha back with a wave of light.
Ruby twirled her scythe around her body before unleashing a downwards slash. Sarah casted a shield that quickly shattered under Ruby's double scythe slash. Channeling her powers through Freya, she quickly rolled out of the way and swung a flashing blue light into the youngest huntresses side, a shard of ice erupted around her body and encased her.
"Flambe." Freya burst into flames as she smashed it against the ice prison, an explosion of flames burst as the young huntress was sent rolling against the ground.
Moon tilted his head to the side as Pyrrha's sword went flying past him, noting that she changed it into a Javelin. He watched her use her polarity semblance to quiver the Javelin and summoned it back.
Moon casted his hand as a few knights made of Jade crafted themselves into thin air. Pyrrha dodged both as Moon quickly came in and started a quick sword fight. Saphria started to glow as he held it up into the air, quickly ducking out of the way of her retracted weapon.
"Cross Slash." Five quick light slashes scooped Pyrrha up before a finishing blow to launch her away.
"Showtime Sarah!"
Sarah smacked Ruby back before she teleported herself over to Moon.
"Shadow Flare!" Moon snapped his fingers as a small blast of black flames surrounded Pyrrha.
"Pk Starstorm!" Sarah shouted. A large wave of blue meteors came crashing down into Pyrrha. Moon jumped up and did a fiery octaslash to flurry carrying the young huntress across the arena, blasting her into the ground.
Both kids turned their attention towards Ruby, who got back up.
The youngest huntress clutched onto her scythe, then, giving a firm smirk, enveloped herself in her cloak again, leaving rose petals behind her as she swarmed around the two of them like a bunch of red nats.
Occasionally, she'd drop the use of her semblance and dart forward, unleashing a swift strike from her large scythe against either one of them.
"Spinning Thunder!" Moon jabbed Saphria up in the air, Sarah nodded her head and casted a PK Thunder, storm clouds developed and struck down, casting the sapphire blade in blue thunder.
Noticing this, Ruby quickly skidded herself to a halt before jumping, quickly shifting her scythe into a gun, and fired a fire dust bullet down at the two of them. The bullet shot into the ground and exploded massively, blowing both kids apart, knocking Sarah out, but leaving Moon to catch himself and levitate in the air. Ruby did note that he looked mildly enraged. That dead stare from his one exposed eye definitely wasn't helping.
Nevertheless, she was determined, using her semblance, she rushed around, this time only quickening up her paces, as she expected him to be more prepared for this one, now that he was on his own. She felt the rapid winds of the rose petals around her as she swirled around him, getting her scythe ready, she dashed forward for the strike, only for Moon to vanish in the blink of an eye last minute.
A burning, stinging pain...sort of like poison then shot through her body, making her wince a little, it wasn't major, but it still stung...sort of like an unexpected charlie's horse cramp. She felt something holding her cloak back as she tried to wiggle out. A dark, and almost sinister presence seemed to fuel her as a red ghastly face shot into her mind, looked kind of...familiar?
"Too slow, Red." She heard a much harsher, more taunting sound of Moon's voice hiss at her. Before she even knew what was coming, she felt her body flung around in a circle before it was sent spiralling into the ground, smashing against the floor, feeling her aura naturally give out as her body weakened.
From atop in the stands watching down, Professor Ozpin took another sip of his coffee, a bit of a frown formed on his lips as Moon landed on the ground.
He watched as the boy made his way over to Sarah, helping her up, his hand flashed a lighter green color as some burn marks and other injuries on both of them started to fade.
"I believe you have enough." he said calmly to the person who was filming. "How about you send that footage over so I can talk with them."
"That was rather...interesting, wouldn't you agree?" Ozpin asked his assistant as they reviewed the footage recorded.
"Perhaps." Glynda replied in a tone that clearly disagreed. "Your council seems to express major concerns at how easily they seemed to be able to fight, let's not forget that this was just Moon and Sarah, I'm certain that the other two have some tricks hidden deep behind them without psychic powers. Not to mention that they've already reached international news thanks to your students whipping out their scrolls and recording."
"Hmmm." Ozpin hummed. "Nevertheless, it wouldn't hurt to keep them around for a while as they do whatever they need to do here. Training our teams of hunters for any possibility would be great."
"With all due respect," Glynda spoke up. "Aren't you concerned that they may find...her?"
Ozpin simply shook his head. "Now Glynda, even if they somehow manage to unearth any of my secrets, what exactly would they do about them? I'm certain Moon would agree that getting other universes involved in our own matters could be catastrophic, especially when his only goal here is to make sure nothing is inherently wrong or threatening. I'm certain he's had to deal with worse foes than her."
His assistant narrowed her eyes as the elevator dinged. Both adults turned their attention to the four kids walking out of the elevator.
"You know, it wouldn't hurt to smile every once and awhile." Ozpin said, looking into Moon's one blue eye with its dead cold stare.
"Well, if you had to deal with half the shit I did, you'd probably smile less as well." Moon replied.
Ozpin chuckled, "I'm not so sure about that myself."
"So…" Sarah began, noticing Moon's very intense frown. "Is there...a problem?"
"I'd imagine so," Erick muttered before either adult could speak. "We just had your PSI recorded and sent to a bunch of government officials."
"There's a lot we had to unpack." Ozpin replied. "Much like your own governmental council for the Multiverse, we still need to be concerned for ourselves."
"There are other things in life than being concerned." Sapphire replied, a bit of a disappointed tone. "After all, as Moon told you, there is no reason for us to send in an army full of things the likes of which this world has never seen here. That is, unless you're hiding something."
Ozpin simply took a sip from his coffee mug. "Yes, well, I did only request for Moon to come up here...any particular reason why everyone is here?"
Moon didn't say anything, but he motioned with his hand for his friends to go to the elevator. Which, after a bit of hesitation, they reluctantly agreed. Once they had gone down, Ozpin opened his mouth again.
"You know, a child such as yourself has no need to be so serious." he said calmly. "I understand that you run a Multiversal government and need to do your duties. However, I find your somewhat serious attitude to be...not normal."
"Incase you haven't noticed, or, if you have forgotten, I have to take my job seriously." Moon replied. "My friends and I didn't come here to have fun. In fact, if it was entirely up to me, we would have just left your world alone."
"But, you're the sole leader in a council that has no power." Ozpin replied. "You could have done just that."
"Just because everything comes up to me, doesn't mean I get to just ignore everything thrown at me." Moon replied, his tone was getting increasingly bitter. "The fact that we had your name on a target list of people that someone wanted monitored was enough to raise an eyebrow.."
Ozpin leaned back and took a sip from his mug. "That is true," he said calmly. "There is quite a debate about involvement around here, especially with three other kingdoms. However, as I've told you before, I doubt that there is anything here that could pose a threat to your council."
"Just so you have an idea as too stuff that DOES pose a threat to Multiversal safety, we consider even the most minor offense of a villain to be noteworthy."
"Such as?" Ozpin asked.
"Eh, Turtle kings kidnapping major princesses, reincarnating kings of evil, mad scientists bent on world domination, super soldiers, one winged angels, demons, space pirates, a psychotic genocidal dragon, super parasites, ancient deities, ugly witches, sorcerers, gods, shadowy amalgamations of your inner mind, elemental monsters, and various different species of dimensional conquering aliens."
"Sounds like quite a lot on your plate, wouldn't you think?"
"Yes, well, that's why they're split up throughout the multiverse with various heroes capable of stopping them." Moon replied. "Even then, I'm bound by an annual meetup where various heroes and villains from throughout the Multiverse meet up to beat the shit out of each other in a fighting tournament. I'd remove it if I could, but it's the only time you can have the villains in a monitored place where they'll be peaceful."
"Now, what if one of these villains happened to...get out?" Ozpin asked.
Moon's eyes narrowed. "Quite a question to ask. You say that the only threat around here is this terrorist group of Faunus. Why should it concern you?"
Ozpin frowned at his response. "If your goal is to work with the governments here with a government of your own, perhaps it'd be best to educate me."
Moon sighed and pulled out the blue orb. Ozpin was quick to note its shining color, before Moon whispered in a voice low enough to not reach the man's ears. The orb stopped glowing.
"Now, while I may have complete legal control over the Multiverse, I still follow the majority of the council's choices when they decide to advise me, as many have technologies from their own world that know more than the technologies the council has. With that being said, if you want my own stance, I have a strict zero tolerance for a certain group of individuals."
"So, you have a distinct hatred for a specific group of villains, ones who you'd give your life to see mauled."
Those villains are different from the rest." Moon replied, crossing his arms. "Those villains are Multiversal, they've broken laws of physics and reality, done what has previously been thought to be impossible. Sure, I may have mentioned a genocidal dragon. But these villains are different."
"There are things you consider...worse than genocide?" Ozpin seemed mildly amused at the thought. Making Moon's glare even harsher.
"I think I've had enough of our conversation." Moon said, his tone was harsh.
"Fair enough, I believe I've taken a bit too much of your time."
"I can feel as though our bond with Ozpin has grown stronger."
Confidant Established: Ozpin
Rank: 1
Moon turned and entered the elevator, quickly directing his attention to the cameras, still short circuited from the other day. He guessed Ozpin figured he'd spark them down everytime, so why bother. He took out the blue orb, which had started glowing again.
"Did that satisfy you fuckers enough?" he asked.
A holographic image of the various Super Smash Brothers in their council seats came up, with the exception of Ness, Akira, and Byleth, each of them seemed mildly irritated.
"What, the absolute hell, was that conversation?" Samus said to him. "Are you TRYING to make us look bad?"
"Not like this council was the most competent source of protection before reforms." Byleth shot back at her.
"You're comfortable talking about all our problems with villains, but not the actual problem that led us here?" Moon rolled his eyes at Captain Olimar's voice of concern.
"I still am under the firm belief that this man is connected to our little Salem woman." Ness folded his arms as he looked at everyone else. "There is no reason Giygas wouldn't have him under supervision if Salem didn't directly voice a concern about him. Meaning that she obviously has him under watch, or something similar."
Palutena started to speak, Moon simply rolled his eyes and swiped her camera off the hologram, cutting her off. "I get that a majority of you hate this just about as much as I do." he muttered. "But as far as I'm concerned, this is only a problem because of your original shortcomings. It's going to take time to pry into these Remnantian's minds. The eight kids I have sent you for registration appear to be the eight most highly regarded on Ozpin's radar. While more may need to be added in the future, these nine people are the ones I'll focus our time on. Good day."
On the opposite end of the Multiverse, Ness sighed as each individual hologram closed. He looked up at the remaining Super Smash Brothers, each of whom looked increasingly more irritated as the rows went down. He felt Paula rest her hand on his shoulder as he took a deep breath. Before Palutena could even start speaking, he cut her off.
"This is going to be a while," he said, his black eyes narrowing. "Time is inconsistent between the Multiverses. And let's not forget that we all need to be prepared for the possibility that Moon summons us to that world to take care of business, or back him up. Let him do as he pleases."
Snake didn't say anything as he quietly took out a cigar, lighting it, and taking a drag.
"Snake, there are children here!" Isabelle barked.
"Doesn't matter, a kid controls all of us." Snake grunted. "It's not like Moon ever had a problem with it. So hush up."
"I'm really starting to have a problem with it. All this running around chasing their father and getting us involved with more shit than we could ever want. With Giygas dead, and the Church of Seiros destroyed, is there really any reason for us to care about Salem?" Cloud grunted.
"Afraid that I'll get hurt, Cloud? I'm touched, really." Sephiroth smirked.
"We still don't know what Salem is even capable of." Zelda removed her hand from the piece of the Triforce of Wisdom that hung in a necklace. "None of our technologies could provide any information, so we need Moon to get them updated and into our systems so we could scout ahead of the future."
"Again, why should we care? Without an army of Giygas' control, is there really anything Salem can do?" Palutena asked, directing her glare towards Ness. "I mean, don't you find it a little bit concerning that we're sending the Three remaining children of your most hated enemy to a place where their technical mother lies? I'm certain we could find a better method, perhaps we could have Kazuya throw them into a volcano?"
Paula looked at Ness with a concerned facial expression.
"Look, Goddess, with all due respect, I don't know how you can't accept that they want to just finish their own problems. Even after all they've exposed about you, I don't think they'd normally go through the lengths they've gone through just to trick us at this point."
"And you don't fear Moon's attitude and losing sanity?" Pit asked.
"He's got his friends, he's got us, and the last thing he'd need with a deteriorating sanity in a world with people who will certainly have a problem with him is more people on him." Paula snapped back.
Ness groaned inwardly as the sparks settled and everyone started shouting. How Moon was ever going to actually keep a government under control was beyond him. However, amongst the bickering, none of them noticed a chubby golden haired boy with pale rotting skin and a sinister chuckle slip past them, and into a portal left open.
Nobody is ever a definitive "good" character, not even the great Super Smash Brothers well, except Isabelle and the PK Boys I guess. I mean, Kirby once blew up a planet over a slice of cake or some shit. I think my takes on characters and having them be absolute degenerates and assholes to everyone is a canon part of their personalities and I guess, but I suppose people prefer other people's much more "Heroic and Charming OCs." Someone more akin to Sapphire, Willow, Anthony and Noct from my friend Phoenix. But I don't know, I liked the concept of having a group of OCs who like only each other and a select group of people, and no one else. Eh, I guess it'll make for interesting plot points.
Logic and Common Sense? That applies to Moon, in some of the worst ways possible, and that'll really start to show going forward I suppose. Then again, Logic in any form is always stupid in any form of media. Even in my stories, I don't think there's ever a time where Moon thought logically using the canon world's logic. It's just his own fucked up logic. Have fun with more stupidity from this story going forward.
Anyway, hopefully I found the time to upload this on the 9th, I've been down south in the boot of America, that's been alright. Always nice to be on vacation.
See you all next time.
