Chapter Nine: Dark Knight Investigation
Weiss backed up a little as Moon's cold dead stare tilted its head to the side, almost as if it was suspicious of what she had said. After a moment, a creepy smile that seemed almost out of character for him emerged on his face.
"I'm actually quite impressed." At this point, she could all but confirm that the voice speaking was, in fact, not Moon's. Sure, it sounded kind of identical, but it was much colder in tone, as well as only slightly deeper than normal. "I guess my host did well to knock you up as the smartest?"
She blinked, was...was this a dream of her own? Sheesh. Maybe she was paranoid about dangerous situations after all. Moon was a host? For what? A parasite alter ego?
"I can assure you, princess, that this is far from a dream." Her own thoughts were clouded as she snapped herself back to reality. Only difference was now, Moon did in fact look different. Basically every part of his body was shadow black. From his outfit, to his hair, to even his skin. The only not-shadowy black color was in his visible eye, which was now blood red.
She went to take a step back, before the new Moon reached out and grabbed her hand, yanking her off the road just as a truck sped by, nearly hitting her in the process.
"You...you saved me?"
"Technically, I didn't have to save you." Moon sneered, giving her that creepy smile. Yeesh, even the teeth were shadowy black, almost fang like. "Though, if you came back in pieces, I don't think anyone would be too happy with me."
Who knew how much time had passed before she eventually opened her mouth. Processing this situation was ridiculous. "Wh...Who are you?!"
"Dark Moon."
She felt a flare in her chest. "What type of name is that?! That sounds like a 6-year old just needed a villain."
Dark Moon shrugged, as he pulled out the sword. Weiss also noted that the sword had changed colors as well. Saphria now had an obsidian black blade with a ruby-red hilt.
"So...is it like...what is it called? Multiple Personality Disorder?" she asked, crossing her arms.
"In a sense, yes." Dark Moon replied to her, a bit of blood started spilling from his mouth. "However, Moon and I share joint custody. When he gets too angry or, in some rare cases, when he wants, I take his place."
"So, if you're the manifestation of his anger. I'm again going to ask you why you kidnapped me?!" At this point, it felt like she was talking to a brick wall.
Dark Moon gave her a creepy little smile. "Because, princess, I can't just run around. Well, technically I can. However, My host gave me an assignment. Find Sarah, by any means necessary. So, for the duration of this chapter, it looks like you're stuck with me."
Oh joy, what a great way to spend the rest of the night. Silently, she hoped that any of her teammates would arrive and get her out of this mess. Or, even better, be nice and assist in this event to hopefully speed the situation along.
"Look, I'm sorry for the stupidity of my teammate." she said, trying to sound as sincere as she could. "I'm certain that if you just went back, and explained everything calmly, we could get this under control, and find Sarah."
Dark Moon's creepy little childish giggle made her flinch a little. "You and your bratty friends may not know what happened to Sarah. However, Moon is very much aware of how dangerous it is for her to go missing at this time."
She opened her mouth in protest, however, Dark Moon quickly silenced her.
"Enough asking questions, you're just here for insurance." he hissed. "Now, follow me."
"Where?!" Weiss asked, almost in disbelief. "Yang just gave Sarah to a taxi driver. Who knows how far they've gone?!"
Dark Moon ignored her and simply turned to the nightclub, which was still open at this time.
Sighing, she followed him into the bar, there was next to no one there, apart from the same bartender-Waiter, who had made their drinks earlier that evening. The man looked up from his dishes. But clearly didn't recognize her from earlier.
"Get lost, show's over." the bartender said, turning back to his glass. "You kids shouldn't be out here this late at nig-"
Weiss felt her eyes widen as Dark Moon teleported behind the bartender, and wrapped himself around him, holding the side of his sword basically against the man's neck.
"Okay you little bitch." Dark Moon hissed as Weiss ran over to them. "I've got a couple questions, ones that, if you value your life, you'll answer honestly."
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" Weiss snapped.
"Silence, princess." Dark Moon hissed at her, "Or I'll shut you up myself."
She went to protest again, only for Dark Moon's intense glare to make her back down. Something about the darker side of this boy told her he wasn't joking.
"Now, where were we?" Dark Moon hissed. Weiss noted that the bartender didn't seem phased by this, despite being at neck point by a sword.
"Could you at least lower the sw-" Dark Moon kicked the man in the back of the leg. Weiss assumed that he obviously hit a weak point, as the man grunted a little.
"I'll be the one asking questions." he hissed. "Number one. Do you recognize the girl standing in front of you?"
The bartender locked eyes with her. "Yes," he said, his voice now increasingly nervous. "She was here earlier, a couple of lady friends with her. I served her and her friends drinks."
Dark Moon didn't lower the blade. "Okay, was one of these friends a girl in purple? Golden Hair. Eyes like the ocean? Arguably the prettiest of the bunch?"
"HEY!" Weiss scolded. Dark Moon's harsh glare made her flinch.
"Erm...might've been. I don't really keep count." By now, it was obvious to Weiss that this man clearly was nervous about them discovering something. Granted, he was being held at sword point by a teenager. But something felt off. After all, the drink handed to Sarah was specifically identified by the waiter as being for her.
"Now, this girl here tells me that you served them drinks? Yet, they didn't pay?"
"Someone paid for them. All of them." The man said, his voice cracked a little as sweat dripped onto his forehead. "He requested our finest drink for the girl in purple."
"Odd, I thought you said you didn't remember there being a girl in purple?" Dark Moon hissed. "That's strike one buddy…now. Who paid for these drinks?"
"Some chubby bloke. His skin looked kinda rotten, I couldn't see his eyes. But he was dressed quite professionally, in a red and black striped tuxedo. Knew our menu like the back of his head, even though I'd never seen him around."
Weiss watched as Dark Moon's visible red eye narrowed. "Uh huh...knew the menu? The special one, right? The one for your inner circle?"
"Inner circle?" She was confused at first, at least until she remembered that he could read other people's minds. So it only made sense that Dark Moon could as well.
The bartender's sweat was really starting to amp up. "Um...yeah, special menu, usually saved for romantic gestures...and uh…"
"Are you aware that the girl in purple that you served this 'Romantic Gesture' to, was 17?"
"Th-The dude said she was 18." The bartender sputtered. "I swear...I didn't know…"
Dark Moon's eyes narrowed as he kicked a cabinet behind him. Weiss watched in shock as the cabinet rumbled a little, before it started pouring out canisters and canisters of a weird looking white dust. Her eyes widened in shock, no...it couldn't be? She moved over behind the bar to get a better look
"Don't touch them!" Dark Moon hissed at her. "It'll get your little paw prints everywhere. Only look, princess."
Weiss nodded her head and looked down at the containers. She felt an urk looking at the label.
Schnee Dust Company Branded Hypno-Dust.
Perfect for slumbering the night away.
She had to blink and reread the label twice. Hypno-Dust? She recalled the name being used in times with...him. She felt a pit in her stomach as she recalled the report that was read to her father after Ironwood, along with other Atlas leaders began using the dust drug hybrid for testing after a large number of incidents spurred up. Her father, of course, was able to skirt around all these problems using...the usual tactics. She quickly looked down at the date, fairly recent too.
"Have...have you been...spiking drinks?!" She asked the bartender, almost in disbelief. "You do realize that this Dust is banned! Everywhere!"
"I...uh…"
Dark Moon glared at the bartender, and, right in front of Weiss, he slit the man's throat open. She felt herself gasp in shock as the bartender collapsed to the ground, the blood seeping out onto the floor.
"Before you say anything." he hissed at her. "Consider everything you've seen, and tell me, does he deserve to live?"
She felt taken aback at the question. "What if he had a family?!" she asked.
"If he did, then I did his wife and kids a huge fucking favor." Dark Moon hissed.
She felt that pit of anger in her chest, not thinking she loudly demanded.
"I want to talk to Moon, the REAL Moon." she snapped at him.
"That's not how the system works, princess."
"Forget your stupid system with him!" Weiss snapped, storming up to him and putting a finger on his chest. "I want him out, and I want him out NOW!"
Dark Moon gave her a creepy little smirk. "I like you…" he hissed. "So, just for you, okay. But...it'll cost you."
"I'm not going to kiss you." she crossed her arms and gave him a small glare.
"Boo...you're no fun." Dark Moon hissed at her. "It's not like anyone wanted to see that anyway."
The shadow person blinked a little bit. Weiss watched as the eye went from red, back to blue, and his skin went back to the slightly tanned color that it normally was. His hair also went back to its blond self. Moon blinked in front of her for a moment, almost confused.
She would've normally expected him to be grateful that the sadistic freak show she just watched was back in his brain. However, His quick glare at her told her otherwise.
"What do you want?!" Moon snarled at her.
She dumbfoundedly did a little showing motion to the scene behind them. Expecting any type of genuine reaction from this boy in front of her as she stood there like a game show girl.
Moon shrugged. "I don't really see the problem." he said.
"YOU KILLED HIM!" Weiss shouted.
"And he knowingly drugged my wife because someone paid him good money." Moon snapped back at her. "What if it had been YOU Weiss!" she felt herself get taken aback.
"What if someone paid this fucker enough money to spike your drink with this dust?!" he hissed at her again. "What about Ruby? Pyrrha? Blake? Penny? What if it had been THEM in this situation?! Did you think about THAT?!"
"That hardly seems-"
"OPEN YOUR GODDAMN EYES!" he snarled at her. "He's been doing this shit for god only knows how long?! And, while we're on topic. YOUR FAMILY is the one supplying him!"
"I didn't know anything about this!" She snapped back at him. "This dust was banned. Along with several other types of Drug Dust that my family experimented with."
"THEN HOW IS IT HERE?" Moon yelled at her.
"Well...um…" She stumbled a little. How was this boy even thinking? She didn't own the company, not yet at least, and...Jacques was never going to tell her otherwise. "I don't know, maybe someone looted our warehouses before we could destroy all of them!"
Her thoughts went wild at this point. Surely, surely there had to be a more logical explanation than that? She had a suspicion that Hypno-Dust was still being used, despite being called back. Well, of course she knew that, she knew first hand how dangerous the drug could be. She shuddered at the memory as her own father leered her down.
Her thoughts faded back out as she blinked back into existence. Moon was still looking at her, only...less angry than he'd been before. Dare she say, he actually looked sympathetic to her.
Moon looked at the ice queen, seeing her own nervous stare as her icey blue eyes darted between the canisters, and him. He picked up on something being wrong with her, he was about to open his mouth before his memory flashed. He heard Sarah telekinetically calling out for him.
"M-Moon?" Her voice sounded weak, and he could tell she had been crying. "M-Moon? P-Please?" Moon looked around, suddenly realizing he was looking through Sarah's own eyes.
"Don't bother." As he suspected, the voice did indeed come from Pokey. A fiery rage built up in his core as he watched the psychotic little shit hop back up on the table Sarah was bound to. "That Counter-PSI unit has blocked your telepathic connection to him as well. He won't hear you, no matter how much you cry."
His temperament increased tenfold as Pokey's rotten skin and devilish glare inched close to his own face, and his rotten tongue began licking around. He could hear Sarah's screams and begs for Pokey to stop, but that only encouraged the little shit to keep going.
"M-Moon...I-I'm…" He watched as Pokey picked up an injection needle with more of that hypno dust inside of it. His insides squirmed as much as Sarah continued to cry. As she shook her head rapidly, he quickly caught sight of a numbered sign he commonly saw in the office buildings of Fourside.
071813.
He blinked and found himself back with Weiss. Who was now snapping her fingers at him.
"Hello? Did you revert back to that Darker You again?" She asked, a small glare on her face.
Quite frankly, he wasn't sure how she had done it, but somehow, the ice queen had been able to convince Dark Moon to willingly give up control. Well, since he had already revealed himself, it wasn't like there was much else he could say to her, it looked like he'd be coming clean to Ozpin, and everyone else after this.
Weiss put her hands on her hips, "You know, I'm still here, and we're still at a murder scene!" she snapped.
Oh right, that. Moon quickly looked around, and spotted a knife laying perfectly to the side. Using his telekinesis, he brought the knife over to the bartender's body and carefully inserted the blade through the man's neck, then he brought the knife over near the man's hand.
Weiss gave him a disapproving look and went to open her mouth before he cut her off. He was tired of listening to her, and with Sarah drugged by Pokey, he needed to find her fast.
"Office building 071813." he hissed at Weiss. "Where is it?"
She stumbled a little bit, almost as if she was taken aback by his outburst. She pondered on his thoughts before responding.
"About...four streets down, I think. But we can't just leave here! You can't just fake a murd-" Moon quickly picked her up, and quickly whispered
"Speed up ⍺!"
"Hey wait a minute!" she began to protest. "Put me down you stu-"
Moon ignored her as the blue light surrounded him, making his feet lighter as he sped out of the bar and through the streets, making sure he didn't let go of her. He wasn't traveling as fast as Ruby could with her semblance, but he reasoned if he had more control he could learn. However, that didn't matter at the moment as he quickly skidded to a halt in front of the building.
Looking at the sign of the building, it appeared to be the headquarters of some type of independent entertainment company. Thanks to that Counter-PSI Unit, he couldn't get a read on the area to try and sense where in the building Sarah would be.
However, knowing Pokey, there was usually something he wanted. And when he wanted something, especially from Moon, he would take all measures possible to ensure that his plan was as foolproof as possible.
He felt a finger jab him on the side. "Hello!" Weiss snapped at him. "You're still holding on to me! Put me down!"
He rolled his eyes as he lowered her shorter legs to the ground, allowing her to stand up. Then, he noticed what she was wearing, something that, in the heat of things, he hadn't done.
"Do...do you sleep in your combat dress?" he asked. She nodded her head, still looking quite angry at him.
"Can you at least give me an explanation!" she asked, in quite the demanding tone. "What is going on? What's with your shadow and darker side? Why did you just bring me here?"
Moon gave her a harsh stare, before sighing. "Well, you'll learn soon enough, just come with me." he motioned for her.
He watched as the ice queen crossed her arms, not a surprise, he was basically asking her to step into a building that neither of them had any real purpose to be in. He was half tempted to use his telekinesis and just bring her over forcefully. However, he simply walked over, grabbed her wrist, and dragged her along, like a dad getting his child out of a candy store.
Both of them looked around, and, as Weiss quickly pointed out to any obvious eye.
"All buildings should be closed and lights out." she said. "It's like...4 in the morning."
"No?! Really?" Moon asked, shaking his head. "No, I could've sworn-" Weiss punched his arm.
"Okay, I want an explanation and I want it NOW!" The ice queen snapped at him.
"Heh, what you wouldn't give to know huh?" Moon watched as her head snapped to the side. He felt a boil in his vein thump as Pokey walked into viewing distance, buttoning up his suit. As he expected, Weiss looked absolutely disgusted at the sight of a decaying human child.
"Weiss Schnee, this is Pork Face." he said, boredly pointing at Pokey. "Or, Pokey Minch. He's uh...he's a sociopath obsessed with Sarah, Erick, and Myself."
Seeing her dumbfounded look, he simply turned to Pokey. He had seen parts of it, and he would gladly want to kill the little shitstain in front of him. However, Pokey usually had some type of plan to ensure he couldn't be killed without Moon losing something as well. In this case, Sarah.
"Moon, Moon, Moon." Pokey sneered. "It has been quite some time since we last met."
"So, this is where you've been hiding?" he asked, slowly pushing away any urge to attack the monster in front of him. "Scoured the whole Multiverse looking for a place to hide? Thought you outsmarted me, huh?"
Pokey's rotten skin made his creepy little glare and stupid giggle creepier than it needed to be.
"Have you come to make a hostage swap?" he sneered, completely ignoring the question. "Are you gonna give me this pretty little bitch for Sarah?"
Moon ignored Weiss' shocked, and worried expression as he glared. "And what use does she have with you?" he asked. "She's just a random stranger I picked up along the way."
"This little creepy predator is the one who kidnapped Sarah?" Weiss asked.
"It's not the first time." he growled at her. "He kidnapped her to sacrifice her in a cult and he kidnapped her in a big city to manipulate her own evil side for the likes of himself."
"Sarah has an evil side too?"
"Later, Weiss." Moon hissed at her. "Let me handle this. Only step in if my evil side steps in. Otherwise, I can, and WILL give you to Pokey."
She opened her mouth to protest, but Pokey gave her his usually predatory look that made her shut her mouth.
"So you've gone from sacrifice, to experimentation, to trauma inducing?" Moon hissed, feeling Saphria glow on his back. "I swear, if I EVER get my hands on you again in a situation you haven't thoroughly planned out. I'm going to make you suffer. I killed one of you before, and I'll gladly kill another one."
"One of you?" Weiss had a puzzled expression, Moon glared at her to hush her up.
Pokey cackled. "Your Anger keeps building." he chuckled. "I should do this more often huh? Maybe I could be like a better Team Rocket! Maybe then I'll finally get the permanency of your dark side out, the way you were created to be."
"Where is Sarah?" He felt the rage boil as Pokey's sinister smile grew and grew.
"I've had my fun with her." he chuckled. "Perhaps you already saw what I was doing? You are right though, she does have that sweet strawberry taste." Moon clenched his fist shut, trying to resist the urge to go ballistic. Which was slowly becoming a losing battle.
"Regardless, if you want your little terrified angel back." Pokey stepped back into the shadows, and, much to Moon's sickening eyes, pushed out Rhea. Still Diamondized from his rage pursuit after her. "I'm gonna need your help with something."
Moon narrowed his eyes. "Sarah first." he said, giving Pokey a less than sincere tone. "When I heal her, and the process begins, you and Rhea get the fuck out of here. Or I'll kill both of you. Got it?"
Pokey's unsettling grin grew. "Fair enough," he giggled. "I'll go fetch you my little drugged up servant toy, or, as you call her, your wife." Moon twitched a little as Pokey disappeared into the darkness of the building.
Weiss slowly walked up to him. Her heels tapped against the tile floor.
"I'm not in the mood to answer your goddamn questions." he hissed.
"I'm...I'm sorry." he raised an eyebrow as he turned to her. The Ice queen had a sad expression imprinted on her face.
"I...I understand what you've gone through." she said meekly. "If...if I...or...anyone else had just thought properly in that situation...this...this wouldn't have happened."
"You, Weiss, did nothing wrong." he replied, in as soft a tone as he could manage. "You did think properly by telling Yang to bring her home, and Yang didn't tell you she bailed out and just gave Sarah to this creepy little fucker."
"Y-You are aware...that…'' Weiss stuttered a little. "You...you do understand what Pokey probably did to her, right?!"
"Whatever Pokey did to Sarah, I can't say anyone is at fault except for me." Moon replied, giving her a mustered up look of dread as the memories of her crying eyes and screams of pain filled his ears as Nightmare towered over her.
"But-"
"I should've known better than to trust a group of people we just met. Especially after the way I've treated most of you. In hindsight, while your teammate was and is a complete fucking moron. None of you knew about Pokey, or the dangers posed by the outside world and the scumbags within them."
Weiss bit down her lip as he tapped his foot against the ground, trying to push away the horrors of the last time this happened.
"So...you aren't mad?" she asked.
"Of course I'm mad." he snapped at her. "It's common fucking courtesy! I mean, Weiss, for fucks sake. What if YOU had been the one drugged, huh? What if Yang had given YOU to Pokey? I mean, when was the last time you were drugged and violated?"
Weiss shifted uncomfortably, rubbing her arm as she looked away. "Well...um…"
Moon felt his eyes raise. "H-Have you...been?"
Weiss quickly shook her head, in a more convincing manner than he would've liked.
"Look...I'm just...I'm sorry about this." she said. "It...it's going to put a strain on your relationship. Isn't it?"
"We've been through a lot together." Moon replied. "I'd never leave Sarah, no matter what. And, again, despite how angry I am with you and your teammates, I can't fault you."
The ice queen shifted uncomfortably. "Well...if you and Sarah are ever going to...have a problem. About this specifically, you can come talk to me, if you want, of course."
The heavy thudded footsteps alerted them back as Pokey stepped back into the light, Moon felt his rage increase more. Sarah was still passed out, however, he could see that her legs not covered by her dress had big bruises on them. Her ribbon was wrinkled, and the upper parts of her dress were much looser than normal.
Again, he had to fight down every urge in his body to not try and strike. If he did, god only knew what Pokey would continue to do to her. The rotting boy indicated his head towards the diamondized statue.
"Pulse?" he asked. Pokey hissed at him and started to move his mouth closer to her face, sticking out his rotten tongue again. "Alright, fine." Moon muttered.
He walked over to the Diamondized statue of Rhea, feeling his heart thump in his chest looking at the taunting smile imprinted on her face, the same one she gave to him after reminding him how, even if he fought and won his fights for revenge, he'd never be happy.
He concentrated his mind on Healing Omega, and, after the flash of blue light, he watched as the Diamond Statue began to crack.
"Very well done." Pokey sneered as he trudged up to him. "Here's your little play toy. I made sure she was knocked out, you know, so you'd have to hold onto her, and not turn on me."
Moon took Sarah's passed out body into his arms and scowled at Pokey as he turned back to him, placing his arm on the cracking statue.
"I'll be back, Moon." he sneered. "And next time, you know who I'll have with me." The boy then vanished in a flash of pink light.
Weiss approached him again as he listened around for her heartbeat. After hearing the slow, weak pounding, he knew she'd be okay. He looked up from Weiss again.
"I'm uh...I'm sorry my dark side kidnapped you." he grunted. "I don't really have as much control over him as he told you. So...yeah, he kinda does his own thing when I give him a stupid order."
"You're forgiven." Weiss replied. "If only because you didn't hurt me."
"And uh...about the bartender?"
The Ice queen gave him a disapproving stare, in response, he quickly indicated towards Sarah's legs and dress. Weiss looked at her, then back at him and eventually, sighed.
"I suppose, I can pretend that he killed himself after we chewed him out." she said calmly. "You're absolutely certain he was running a trafficking ring though?"
"Yes...mind reading, remember. Also, illegal Dust Spiking? What else would he need that for?"
"Yes...and...I'll contact my sister, Winter, she might be able to tell me about why there was Hypno Dust if it came from our company." she replied. "Just...just for your sake."
"Thank you, Weiss," he replied calmly. "I'll, I'll tell you about the Dark sides of us when we get back. I promise. I just want to make sure Sarah is okay." Weiss nodded her head.
"So...you going to let me...call them?"
"Yeah, go ahead."
Sarah started to stir in his arms, she blinked once, twice, three times for good measure. Before her eyes shot open. Moon instantly frowned as she started holding her head in pain. Her heartbeat had also increased in that short time period, however, when she caught his eye, realizing that he was with her. She calmed down slightly, but she still looked like she was going to cry heavily.
"It's okay…" he said calmly. "I've got you, Sarah, you're safe." He rubbed her legs, using his healing powers to silently heal her bruises before she could see them as she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly, while sitting on his lap.
As per the usual, the flashing images of Nightmare violating Sarah himself came forward. And, as much as it made him flinch, he had to keep going.
"He...he hurt me…" she whimpered to him. "Pokey...he...he drugged me, and kissed and touched and licked me and…" she instantly started crying into his shoulder. "I'm sorry Moon! I'm sorry! I...I don't know what happened after that…"
"It's okay." he removed his hand from her legs and both of them around her back, rubbing it, and stroking her hair. "I'm here now...everything...everything will be...just...just fine." he hugged her tightly, refusing to let her go as she sobbed into his shoulder.
"P-Pokey...he-he…"
"I know...I know…" he whispered, feeling tears starting to come from his own eyes as he watched Nightmare grope Sarah while cackling. "I'm sorry. I should've just come and got you. I knew Erick and Sapphire were right...you did need to have a little bit of fun every now and again. I'm so, so sorry. I...I promised you I wouldn't let it happen again...I...I didn't account for Pokey. Sarah...I'm..." he was cut off as he felt Sarah press her lips against him.
The image of Nightmare forcefully kissing her face obstructed his mind, he saw those tears flow.
"I-I'm sick of you blaming y-yourself." Sarah cried at him. "Y-You d-didn't know, it-it's not your fault!" But it was his fault, he should know that Pokey to him was like Sephiroth to Cloud.
"Shhhh." Moon shushed her as he held her head close. "It's okay Sarah. You're safe now. I won't let you out of my sight again. I promise." Inside though, he felt himself breakdown.
His PSI instincts started screaming at him to move. However, he didn't want to, he just wanted to hold on to Sarah. He looked down and saw a rose petal flutter to the ground. He simply shrugged it off and held tightly onto Sarah. If the rest of Team RWBY wanted to take him down, he'd let them. Because nothing mattered at the moment apart from comforting Sarah.
"STOP YOU DUNCE!"
Ruby skidded to halt as she raised Crescent Rose above her head. After getting a call from Weiss, she had sped over here on Professor Ozpin's request, in order to retrieve Weiss and bring Moon back by any means necessary.
"Weiss?" She asked. Her teammate looked alright. No sign of injuries, though she did look mad.
"I'm glad you got my call. But don't attack him you idiot!" the Ice queen snapped at her. "He hasn't hurt me!"
"Well, sure...but...he kidnapped you, though!" she replied to her teammate.
"Yeah...so he could get directions around the city!" Weiss crossed her arms. "He was frustrated, Ruby. After all, we all did something very irresponsible. And look at what happened to Sarah. Furthermore, if he was still being hostile towards you, and still wanted to hurt me, don't you think he would've attacked you, or maybe teleported both of us out of here the second you came in?"
She put her scythe down as she looked at Moon. Who hadn't bothered to move from his position. Her silver eyes narrowed as she waited for him to say anything, which he did not.
"Ruby, Sarah has been hurt because of our stupidity." Weiss said to her. "Don't hurt Moon because he panicked that we lost his wife in an unfamiliar environment." She gave Weiss a questioning look. "Okay...sure, maybe he could've been nicer. But, had this situation been reversed, and Yang had been missing, you probably would've done the exact same thing."
She shrugged her shoulders, knowing that Weiss was right. "Are you sure he didn't hurt you?" she asked her teammate. "He didn't do anything else, did he? Like...you know...kill someone?"
Weiss shook her head. "Nope, he did nearly kill the bartender after he found out that he's a druggie. But I talked him out of it and we left him on the ground. The police were notified of the situation. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the guy killed himself before they got there."
Ruby looked at her teammate, sure, what Weiss said had justification. She had no injuries and she seemed to be in the right state of mind. Moon wasn't going ballistic or attacking either of them. And Sarah did look terrified enough being comforted in his arms. Although, knowing that he had the ability to erase memories and heal injuries through skepticism into her analysis.
"If you don't believe me, at least let the trial go to Ozpin." Weiss gave her a surprisingly pleading look. Something that felt almost out of character for her. Taking a moment to consider, she eventually nodded her head. It was best to leave the situation to Ozpin.
"Okay, so, are they ready to go back?" she asked.
"We're just about ready." Moon finally spoke for the first time since she got there. "Thank you for understanding Ruby."
He stood up and looked at Weiss, as Sarah set herself on the ground. Feeling only somewhat satisfied. Of course, what had happened would come back to bite them, and he wasn't going to let this situation go for everyone else Team RWBY. They weren't getting off the hook that easily.
If anything, the events of tonight served only the purpose of giving him a legitimate reason to hate Team RWBY with their innocence in a burning flame. His trust in them was low, but this made the thin glass he had shattered. It would take a miracle for any of them to build themselves up from there.
Instead, he faked his own smile at Weiss, who gave him a satisfied nod back. Almost as a silent understanding of each other.
I can feel as though our bond with Weiss has grown stronger.
Confidant Rank: 2
Weiss Schnee
Hey, I wasn't the one who promised much. If you aren't too familiar with EarthBound, our good pal Pokey is normally more of a master manipulator. I consider Pokey to be a very interesting villain. I like the core idea of him being Giygas' underling who is just as terrifying if he gets going. We see first hand how low he's willing to stoop to get what he wants. Albeit, he's never as disgusting as I've made him out to be. If Pokey ever does fight, he usually has some assistance.
I know a lot of people will probably be unsatisfied with the way I'll handle portraying Team RWBY and Team JNPR, something that will almost certainly become apparent in the next chapter. But, that's part of my goal with this Series. I do really love RWBY as a show and I did carefully consider how I wanted to portray them with my absolute mess of a team.
Point Blank, I guess you can say that this'll be a clash of ideals. Because Moon, Sarah, Erick, and Sapphire all have a much more stricter way of thinking compared to Team RWBY. So you can expect that, as the series goes on, there will be more divisions between everyone.
Also, in regards to how I'm going to handle Salem's relationship to Team MESS, I think you guys might be a bit surprised by how she speaks in regards to them. Like I mentioned, I wanted to portray these characters a little bit differently. I'm certain you may have picked up a little hint about Weiss and what I'm doing with her.
Anyway, these 2 chapters and the one following it are the first time I've handled a serious M rated issue between Moon and Sarah. I knew from the first installment of this story that I wanted to do something with this, but I cut the mention and happening and just kinda sat on it until my 3rd story. When I decided on RWBY as a follow up to that story, I figured I'd have enough experience to try and handle it. So I'm kind of nervous about how you all will respond to it.
Oh well, I can't win them all, I'm just lucky that some of you all are still reading. As always, I'm open to any criticism of my work and how I handle things. I also appreciate just a nice. Plus, I always respond.
See you all, next month.
