Carol zipped up her jacket and walked right out of her room into the batcave's main corridor. She made her way towards where Clark had said he wanted to see her. Clark contacted her 3 minutes ago and told her he wanted to see her, and that it was urgent.
As Carol made her way up the stairs to the main floor, she could only wonder what was so urgent that would make Clark call her by 7am. She reached the main floor and turned towards the balcony, and there he was.
'This better be important ' She thought
In a cardigan, blue jeans and a pair of brown shoes and glasses.. Clark looked like a High School teacher. Carol couldn't help but smile at how innocent he looked.
Clark, who was facing the rising sun on the balcony, didn't turn around even after sensing her presence. Carol walked to his side and faced the sun too ..
" You know I was having this really cool dream, and I was planning on staying in bed late today so this better be go.."
" Paradox.." Clark said, cutting Carol off and leaving her in shock. Carol had goosebumps
" W.. What did you just say?"
" Paradox.." Clark repeated " Professor Paradox"
He looked at her completely shocked face
" Do you know him?" He asked
Carol just looked at him in shock, before managing to speak
" How do YOU know him?" she asked
" He spoke to me" Clark said " At first I thought it was one of Darkseid's people, but then he said he knew you. He said he met you in a place beyond here."
" The.. The junction.." Carol said. Clark turned and looked at her
" Excuse me?"
" That's the name of the place he met me, at least that's what he told me" Carol said looking at her shoes.
Clark was a bit confused..
" It's not a normal place. It's.. it's complicated" Carol said
" Is he a good guy?" Clark asked
" I think so.. though I'm not a hundred percent sure"
" Carol what does he want?" Clark said getting a little concerned.
" I don't know honestly, but he's not a threat to us I assure you" Carol said as she turned and faced him.
" But you just said you're not a hundred percent sure"
" Okay yes I'm not sure, but does he seem evil to you?" Carol asked
" Cus I don't think he was is"
Clark looked her in the eye, then looked up, and closed his eyes.
" Alright" He said looking at her again "I'll take your word for it." Clark said as he leaned on the balcony. " So is he from your universe?"
" No he's not. He's actually helping my universe, and the heroes it has left."
" He's helping your friends?"
" Not directly. When I got kicked out of my universe, he sent one hero from his universe. Surprisingly, it's a 20 plus year old kid, but from what I learned, he's extremely powerful."
" Okay, so he sent someone over to fill in for you.. Then why did he tell me to protect you?"
Carol snapped her head at Clark... " Im sorry, what?"
" He said the Titan will return, and you will need to be there.. but I should protect you" Clark said looking at her.
Carol couldn't believe it. " Who the hell does that son of a bitch think I am?"
" So you understand what he means by 'The Titan'?" Clark asked
" Yeah. " Carol said with a stern face " and he is no joke"
" So technically this means I will have to accompany you to your universe?" Clark couldn't help but grin a little
" I never asked for that" Carol said, embarrassed
" Doctor's orders" Clark said
Carol put her hand on her forehead " Just because some dude dressed like a lab scientist said you should come with me to my universe to help me.. Me..! and the Avengers beat Thanos, doesn't mean I have no choice than to let you come."
Clark smiled and gave her a look that said 'Really?'
" Even if we were to go back, how and where do we start?!"
" That shouldn't be a problem" A voice came out of nowhere and Carol had heard this voice only once. Both of them turned around and saw him.
" Good morning Carol. Good morning Clark"
" Paradox " Clark and Carol said in unison.
"In the flesh" He said with a small smile.
" How do you even do that?" Carol asked him
" I do a lot of things child be specific " Paradox deadpanned
" You just go anywhere in the multiverse, anytime.. and you're still sane!" She said in awe
" That's one of the benefits of being a celestial." Paradox said with a smile.
" Just like how I took you to the Junction after you.. you know "
Clark looked confused. Carol tried to recall what caused her to go to the junction.
Then it hit her ...
" After I died" She said looking down in confusion. Clark looked at her in disbelief
" You, died?" He asked, shocked at what she just said.
" Clark, since the battle if the Unity, don't you feel like you're missing something from that day. From the events of that day, can you say in total what happened before you and Cyborg destroyed the unity?" Paradox asked with a small smile
Clark was about to answer but then he realized, he doesn't remember every detail!
" What is going on?" Clark said starting to get pissed
Paradox chuckled. " Well just so you know, all of you died." He said " The Unity was formed and the planet was destroyed by the explosion. Anyway you guys really need to take that speedster kid out and get him lunch, probably pay for his accomodation in a very expensive hotel because that boy saved your lives."
Clark was destabilized by this information, but Barry? How?
" How did the Flash bring us back?" Carol said curious and shocked
" Well he wasn't affected by the explosion as he managed to vibrate through the shockwave and rewind time in order to bring you guys back and continue your mission." Paradox ended with a smile
" This is insane!" Carol said in utter awe. " So you're trying to tell me that everyone died? And nerd speed brought us back?!"
" Who's nerd speed?" Paradox asked
" Oh for Pete's sake!"
" So is he also gonna help us get to Carol's universe?" Clark asked
" Leave that to me.." Paradox said with a smile.

An Impossibility no more
" Okay I'll be there in a minute!" Ben said to the comms from the bathroom he was in. He was recovering from that incident with clockwork really fast, and really well. Ben turned off the water and headed into the bathroom with a towel around his waist.
Nat had just informed him that they were gonna test the time machine in a few minutes and he needed to be there.
Something deep down told him that this wasn't gonna end well.
'Nope.. I ain't taking that negativity into this task. It's just gonna ruin everything.' Ben thought as he put his black shirt on. He also wore his jeans and a pair of shoes, did his hair, looked in the mirror and said to himself
" Damn I'm hot.."
" Ship ship" Ship said, causing Ben to chuckle.
" How would you know? You're not even human. You wouldn't know handsome even if it smacked you right across the face!" And with a smirk, he headed out of his room, an Ship leaped on his shoulder.

" Okay here we go. Time travel test number one!" Bruce said aloud.
" Scott, fire up the uhh.. the van thing" He said as Scott, who was wearing a sophisticated quantum suit, walked up to what used to be his van, but was now a time machine. He opened the back doors, and the machine came to life and what could be seen in the back of the van was like a light tunnel. A quantum tunnel.
Ben walked down the stairs and saw what was going on. Nat and Scott spotted him
" Well that was fast" Nat said to him
" Do I usually take longer?" Ben replied, then he glanced at the towering figure of Bruce's Hulk form. " Damn you remind me of Diamond head. No! more of a diamond head / Forearms crossbreed, only with two arms."
Bruce looked at him with an eyebrow raised in utter confusion.. " Are you calling me an animal?"
" Brakers are set. Emergency generators are on standby" Steve said after doing a quick survey of the area. Then he saw Ben
" Hey there champ" He said as he walked past him and pat his shoulder
" Cap.." Ben replied.
" Okay, that's good Steve, cus if we blow the grid I don't wanna lose tiny here in the 1950s." Bruce joked. Scott stiffened
" Excuse me.." Scott said to Bruce with a worried tone
" He's kidding." Nat said while smiling and preparing the console for the machine. Then she looked up at him " You can't say things like that.."
" Yeah bro if it were me I'd be very upset" Ben said looking at Bruce, who turned around and said
"Just..ju... It was just a, bad joke." Bruce said stuttering.
Scott took it that way and walked towards the van about to place his helmet on and prepare for the test.
" You're kidding right?" Nat asked with a low voice.
" I have no idea. We're talking about time travel here. Either it's all a joke or none of it is." He replied lowly to Nat, before straightening up and shouting to Scott...
" We're good!"
" Oh you have gotta be shitting me" Ben said while shaking his head. " C'mon, So you're not even sure of this thing?" Ben asked Bruce, who just shrugged
" Get your helmet on!" He told Scott who stood right at the entrance of the quantum tunnel in his van.
' Tried to cut out the negativity but now it's rushing back in' Ben thought
" Scott, I'm gonna send you back a week. Want you to walk around for an hour and I'll bring you back in ten seconds. Makes sense?" Bruce asked
" Perfectly not confusing." Scott fake smiled although he had no idea what Bruce meant.
" Good luck Scott." Cap said
" He's doomed." Ben said lowly as he faceplamed
" You got this" Steve finished
Scott had a smile on his helmeted face after hearing Steve encourage him
" You're right. I do Captain America." He replied , just before he was sucked into the tunnel.
For a few seconds everyone stood in silence
" Ship.?" Ship asked
" Uhhhh?" Ben was anticipating his return
" On the count of three." Bruce said. Everyone waiting to see if he'll return.
" One," Bruce said as he flicked a few switches...
" Two," He said as the team watched
." Three!" He pushed a lever down and indeed someone emerged from the tunnel...
Ben's eyes were wide.
Nat was shocked
Cap was like .. 'oh shit'
" Uhhh guys, this.. this doesn't feel right." The middle school teenager in Scott's suit said.
" What is this?" Steve asked confused
." Wait what's going on?" Bruce asked himself as he checked the machine to see if there was an error.
" Is that...?" Ben said pointing at the kid
" Is that Scott?" Nat asked
" Yes it's Scott" The kid version of Scott replied before being pulled back into the tunnel.. Then someone else emerged.
" Ooh my back " The elderly version of Scott said.
The three were now panicking
" The hell?!!" Ben yelled
" What is this?!" Steve said now very concerned.
Bruce started moving around trying to fix the mistake.
" Bring him back!" Steve yelled
" I'm working on it." Bruce replied, fiddling the machine and pushing buttons and hitting the console just before the old man was sucked in too.. And another version of Scott emerged.
The team was dumbfounded..
" It's a baby" Steve said
" It's Scott!" Bruce said
" As a baby!" Steve said
" He'll grow." Bruce said.
" Are you being serious right now?!" Ben said to him.
" Bring Scott back. " Cap ordered.
" Okay when I say kill the power, kill the power." Bruce said to Nat, gesturing to the handle on the wall
" Yup.. we're screwed." Ben said
" Oh my God.." Nat said as she rushed over to the power switch
Bruce pressed a few more buttons..
" Aaaaand... KILL IT!" He yelled to Nat, who instantly switched it off as Bruce hit a button at the same time.
.. and Scott came back to normal as the van went off.
" Well Hallelujah!!" Ben yelled
" Somebody peed my pants " Scott said, standing stiff
" Oh thank God." Nat said as she breathed a sigh of relief.
".. but, I don't know if it was baby me or old me " Scott said... " Or just.. 'Me' me"
" Time travel!" Bruce yelled content with the machine he just built, but from the way Steve and Ben were looking at him, he knew they weren't.
." What?" He asked, as Steve walked away.
" I see this as an absolute win.". He finished
" No it isn't " Ben replied with a deadpanned look on his face.
" Even though it has a few tweaks and needs to be adjusted, it's still pretty good"
" Bruce that is a disaster. How do you want to travel in that?" Ben asked
" It's a small step. We at least know that we can manipulate time around a person..."
" We can't do this." Nat said, loosing hope.
Bruce was sad to hear those words from her.
" C'mon Natasha." He said trying to encourage her. " This IS something. It could give us ideas on how we could enhance our access to the quantum realm. It has shed a little light on what the quantum realm is all about"
" Oh that's a veeeery little light you're talking about" Ben said
" Yes. I admit, yes. It is little, but little is better than nothing.We just need more time " Bruce reassured the team.
Ben smiled a little
" Ship ship" Ship said sitting on a container.
" What did he say?" Bruce said curiously.
Ben looked at Ship, then back to him.
" He thinks you'll do great".
Bruce smirked at the creature, then leaned low to it's face level
" That's a smart little fella"
"I'm gonna go do some, cleaning up." Scott said as he walked uncomfortably in his suit.
" Yeah I think you should." Bruce said " Sorry about the travel anyway Scott."
" Yeah it's fine. I'm perfectly fine" Scott lied as he made his way up the stairs.
" This has never been done before " Bruce said " No one has been able to use the quantum realm to navigate time.. but we could be the first ones. Now I might not be Tony Stark but..."
" Yeah you're definitely not Tony Stark "
All three looked towards the entrance of the hall to see where the new voice came from ...
" You know cus you're like about 9 foot tall, green and... not so good looking" the voice finished
Ben was smiling wide as hell. Nat was doing the same. Bruce shook his head while chuckling
" Tony." He chuckled as Tony walked towards them with Captain America behind him, holding his shield
" Man am I glad to see you" Bruce said
Tony smirked " I get that a lot." He looked at Ben and Nat, who were completely surprised he chose to come back..
" C'mon guys. I love this job. So lemme guess what happened here". He looked around, looked at the bus, the facilities around, the nervous look on Bruce's face and the downed looks on Nat and Ben's faces.
He looked back at Bruce, but this time, he was smiling sheepishly.
" Time heist." Tony said smiling to Bruce.
".. and probably someone got turned into a baby"
" Poor Scott" Ben said as he shook his head
" Yeah that's what happens when you mess with forces you don't understand " Tony said " I was just telling Steve outside that you weren't sending Scott through time, you were sending time through Scott. Very dangerous " Tony said as he looked at the van " You guys are lucky Scott survived that"
" Wait, you're saying Scott could've died?!" Ben asked in shock.
" Yeah kid.. The force of time would cause his atoms to adjust over, and over, and over and the excessive atomic readjustments could cause an insane amount of pain which could've led to cancer or, Steve could've been incinerated." Tony said with his hands in his pocket.
Steve, Nat and Ben looked up at Bruce, who was scratching his head.
" Hey! I didn't know all this" Bruce said in self defense
" Well in a matter of time, Rocket and Nebula will be here and they're gonna be part of our team. Oh and not to forget Rhodes." Cap said
" Well, since you've got this whole team getting ready, I'm gonna go get myself ready." Tony said, about to leave the group
" Hey Tony," Ben called causing Tony to stop and look at him.
" You made the right choice " Ben said with a small smile
Tony in reply smiled a bit at the assurance.
" I hope I did" He said while he walked away from the team.
' I hope you did too ' Ben thought
"Well, we got a lot of stuff to do today so..." Cap stopped himself as he turned and looked at the bus.
"First of all I need us to get rid of this"
" C'mon Cap! It might come in handy in the future" Bruce said
" I honestly don't see a way we can use this thing" Nat said
" Apart from taking a knife and shoving it up nature's ass" Ben said
" Guys! We are not, getting, rid of it." Bruce said defiantly
" We don't need it! It's too dangerous lying around " Steve, who was getting annoyed, said to Bruce.
" None of you know how to power this thing, except me" Bruce said with a smile.
Steve put his face in his palm.
" Alright. Fine" Steve said "Have it your way"
" So what are gonna be doing" Ben asked while jugging in one place
" Bruce. When Rocket and Nebula get here, I'm gonna need you and Rocket to go see Thor. You guys are two people he spent over a year with in space, so he might listen to you guys" Steve said as Bruce nodded
" Nat.." He stopped and looked her in the eye. " You sure you can do this, alone?"
Nat looked down " The only way I can convince him, is if I go alone" She looked back at Steve, who had a pitiful look on his face for Nat.
" Barton.." Ben said causing the other three to look at him
" You wanna go see Barton" Ben said, but this time to Nat.
Nat looked up at him and nodded a little.
Ben was pissed. He closed his eyes "
" We talked about this Nat.."
" He's important Ben.." Nat said
" We don't need Barton!" He opposed
" Ben." Cap called him
" He's too dangerous! He's lost it" Ben still yelled against the notion of going to see the Ronin
" He's our friend" Cap said
" Well whoever he was I don't care! Have you seen what that man does?! In Japan?!!" Ben said " He's a cold blooded killer!"
" Thanos did this to him" Bruce said
" Yeah, you lose your family and what's the next thing you do... You become a murderer and decide to destroy other people's families?!" Ben said "That doesn't sound like a hero to me!"
Nat was close to tears as she folded her arms and closed her eyes while Ben said all this.
" Nat believes she can do it and we'll let her try!" Cap responded boldly to Ben
" She was the closest to him when we were all together! We're not doing this just cus we feel we need his world class archery around, we're doing this because he's apart of this team. We wouldn't be complete without Clint Barton. He's family to us. He was apart of the first seven Avengers."
Ben took a deep breath, and closed his eyes.
" Let us try" Cap said to him "If he's not who he used to be anymore we'll see".
" Then I'm going with her" Ben said as he opened his eyes. Nat looked at him in shock
" B.. Ben no"
" I'm going with you" He repeated " I can't let you go see that guy alone"
" I have to do it alone Ben" Nat said " He's not gonna budge if I'm with you"
" What if he doesn't see you?" Bruce said to Ben
Nat and the others looked at Bruce
" You know like, maybe he stays out of sight but still sees what's happening without Clint noticing him or, he has an alien form that is invisible" Bruce suggested
Cap and Nat looked from Bruce to Ben..
Who had a smile on his face..
