Hello again! I don't have much to say today. As unsurprising as it seems, Angry Birds fanfiction doesn't seem good, popular or not enough good recognition. However, I assure you that I will try my best to improve and I'm open to suggestions, and since I've thought out this crossover idea and I've finished chapter one, There's no stopping myself now.
Without further ado, here's chapter 2, I hope you enjoy.
Beacon Academy, the Huntsman Academy of the Kingdom of Vale, which resembles a castle more than an actual school. At the top of the tower of the academy stood Red in the balcony, having a bird's eye view of the entire campus. He gave an impressed nod.
"I'll say, the school looks impressive for the school to resemble a castle, Mr. Ozpin." Red commented.
"I'm glad that you find it impressive, Mr. Red," Ozpin replied from behind. "Now then, if we could finish our conversation in my office…" Ozpin continued, opening the door to his office, waiting for Red to enter.
"Oh, right." Red said as he walked away from the balcony and entered Ozpin's office, before Ozpin shut the door.
Ozpin's office seems to be a clock tower, as intricate clock gears in the office, accompanied by the sound of gears, and behind a clock gear chair was a large clock face that is also used as a window. The night before, Red had given Ozpin, along with Glynda and Ruby, since they were still in the room with the two men, a brief explanation of his story. Upon hearing that Red is from a different world entirely, Ozpin suggested that the rest of the conversation would be best to be conducted in a more private setting, such as his office, and Red agreed with his suggestion.
"So to put it shortly, you and your friends come from another world in pursuit of your enemies, called the Bad Piggies, which are suspected to be in Remnant to cause havoc here…"Ozpin began as he sat at his desk. "Having come through a strange purple portal that clearly doesn't belong to these Bad Piggies."
"Yep, that pretty much sums it up, that machine doesn't seem like the pig's design, although they are quite civilized like this place here." Red replied.
"How civilized are they?" Ozpin asked curiously.
"They are able to create numerous devices and have a wide variety of cultures. They even have a government, politics and their own military! Most of them are not very bright however, behaving like hooligans, but they compensate for it by sheer numbers. There are hundreds and thousands of them in my world, which I'm afraid could overwhelm Remnant within a few days." Red explained.
"So they are like the Creatures of the Grimm, but more efficient, this might be a problem…" Ozpin said. "Creatures of the Grimm?" Red questioned.
"They are monsters that inhabit various parts of Remnant. They are known as "Creatures Of Destruction" as they hunt and kill humanity, not for sustenance, but because they seem to embody death itself. Lacking a soul, They are drawn to feelings of negativity such as envy, sadness, loneliness and hatred." Ozpin explained.
"They are like the Pigs but extremely hostile…got it. The more reason for me to look for my friends. They were brought into an unknown world and may have trouble adapting here." Red stated. "Is there any way you can contact your friends?" Ozpin asked. Red looked at Ozpin with a worried expression and said, "Unfortunately, no, I sure hope they are okay…"
(Meanwhile….)
Several ships were docking at the entrance of the school. As soon as one of the ships landed and opened its doors, several students walked out of the ship. A blond student quickly walked out of the ship first and into the nearest trash can, with both hands covering his mouth before he lost his stomach's contents to the trash can. Ruby, along with a long haired blonde girl beside her, followed the other students on the pathway that leads to the academy. Ruby and the blonde girl stopped midway through the courtyard as they looked in awe at the castle that will serve as their school and home for the next few years.
"The view from Vale's got nothing on this!" The blonde said to Ruby, but Ruby doesn't seem to pay any attention to her as she becomes mesmerized by the weapons the newly arrived students have.
"Ohmygosh, sis! That kid's got a collapsible staff! And she's got a fire sword! Ow! Ooww!" Before she tried getting closer, she was comically pulled back by the blonde girl by the hood.
"Easy there, little sister. They're just weapons!" The blonde girl told Ruby.
"Just weapons?" Ruby questioned. "They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!"
"Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?" the blonde girl asked.
Ruby drew out her weapon, Crescent Rose in its scythe form and held it proudly over her shoulder. "Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose! I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people, but better…" she started to look down slightly, having been reminded of her poor social skills.
"Ruby, come on…" The blonde girl pulled down Ruby's hood playfully. "Why don't you go try and make some friends of your own?"
"Well…I happened to meet one person…you know, the guy I told you about?" Ruby recalled as she took off her hood.
"You mean the man in red?" the blonde girl asked in a playfully skeptic way. "Aren't you a little old for imaginary friends? or did you read too many story books? Or is he your dream boyfriend that I don't know about?"
"Yang! The man is real!" Ruby exclaimed. "Professor Ozpin and the Goodwitch lady were there and saw him for themselves! I wasn't the only one who saw him!"
"Okay, okay, so he was real!" the blonde girl identified as Yang, held up her hands defensively, still a bit skeptical of the "Man in red".
"If you were able to make friends with him, you should be able to make friends with other people."
"But... why would I need friends if I have you?" Ruby asked.
"Well…actually, my friends are here. Gotta go catch up. 'Kay, see ya, bye!" Yang dashed away, blending with a crowd of first years, literally leaving Ruby in the dust as she was spun by the crowd.
"Wait, where are you going?! Are we supposed to go to our dorms?! Where are our dorms?! Do we have dorms?!" As Ruby stopped spinning with swirls in her eyes, Yang was already long gone. "...I don't know what I'm doing…"
Still dizzy from Yang's sudden leaving, she falls backward into a luggage cart, sending an assortment of white suitcases flying.
"What are you doing?!"Ruby looked up to see a girl with pale skin, long white hair tied up in a ponytail with a tiara, and a scar down on the left side of her face. She wore a white and light-blue dress that stretched down to her thighs with a snowflake pattern on the hem, with a pair of white boots, a bell-sleeved bolero of the same color and pattern as her dress. She also carried a rapier-like sword at her waist.
"Uh…s-sorry…!" Ruby apologized as she got up on her hands. "Sorry?! Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?" The girl in white exclaimed.
"Uh…" Ruby tried to hand the girl one of the suitcases that she was holding, but the girl swiftly took the suitcase from Ruby.
"Give me that!" She stated as she opened the suitcase to reveal bottled contents of various colors.
"This is dust, mined and purified from the Schnee quarry!"
"Um…" Ruby wasn't really following.
"What are you, brain-dead?!" She took out a bottle with red contents from the white suitcase that she was holding and shook it for emphasis, causing some of it to spill in the form of powder.
"Dust! Fire, Water, Lightning, Energy!" some of the red powder ended up getting in Ruby's face and into her nose, which the girl in white doesn't seem to notice.
"Are you even listening to me?! Is any of this sinking in?! What do you have to say for yourself?!"
Ruby then sneezed, igniting much of the dust as a small explosion erupted in-between them of flame, lightning and snowflakes. The red bottle that the girl in white was holding ended up flying and bounced on the ground a few times before coming to the feet of another girl that has fair skin and long black hair, She wore a black buttoned vest over a white, sleeveless undershirt, along with white shorts, black low heeled boots and a black bow tie over her head. She was in the midst of reading a book when she felt something touch her foot, causing her to look down and notice the Schnee Dust Company Logo on the bottle, picking the bottle up with curiosity before she was drawn by the commotion from the girl in white.
"Unbelievable!" The girl in white exclaimed to Ruby, being covered in soot before shaking it off. "This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!"
"I'm really, really sorry!" Ruby apologized with a red face.
"You complete dolt! What are you even doing here?! Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?!"
"Well...I..." Ruby wanted to say how she met Ozpin and admitted her early, but due to the thought of others thinking she is special, she doesn't know what to say.
"This isn't your ordinary combat school! It's not just sparring and practice, ya know? We're here to fight monsters. So… watch where you're going!"
"Hey, I said I was sorry, princess!" Ruby stated, fed up with getting yelled at.
"It's heiress, actually." The girl in black stepped up, still holding the dust bottle in her hand. "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellent in the world."
The girl in white, identified as Weiss Schnee, smiled smugly. "Finally! Some recognition…"
"The same company that's also infamous for its controversial labor forces, questionable business partners, and even rumors of corruption." The girl in black said with narrowed eyes.
This caused Weiss to scoff in shock. "Wha… I… how dare… the nerve of…!" Her angry stutters caused Ruby to snicker as Weiss glared at the girl in black and took the Dust bottle back before storming off, leaving a pair of attendants to pick up the spilled luggage.
"I promise I'll make this up to you!" Ruby called to Weiss, but she was already gone, leaving her to sigh. "I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day. So, what's your…" She tried to turn back to the girl in black, but she was already gone as well. Feeling dejected, Ruby collapses to the ground on her back. "Welcome to Beacon." Ruby told herself.
"Hey." She looked up to see a blonde boy in white armor offering a hand. "I'm Jaune."
"Ruby." She replied as she accepted his hand and was helped back on her feet. She snickered once she got a good look at his face, his appearance reminded her of something. "Aren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?".
Later, both Ruby and Jaune were walking in the direction of the academy and having a conversation
"Hey, motion sickness is a much more common problem then people let on!" Jaune exclaimed in offense.
"Look, I'm sorry. "Vomit Boy" was the first thing that came to mind." Ruby laughed.
"Oh yeah? What if I called you "Crater Face?" "He shot back immaturely.
"Hey, that explosion was an accident!" Ruby stated.
"Well, the name's Jaune Arc! Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue, ladies love it."
"Do they?" Ruby asked, getting the sense that the last part might be exaggerated.
"T-They will!" Jaune quickly said. "Well… I hope they will. I mean, my mom always says that… eh… never mind."
After a slight giggle, Ruby tried to find something to strike up the conversation further to prevent an awkward silence. "So… I got this thing." She displayed Crescent Rose, stabbing it to the ground, causing Jaune to look in shock and surprise.
"Whoa! Is that a scythe?!" He exclaimed.
"It's also a customizable, high-impact, sniper rifle." Ruby said with pride.
"Uh… what…?" Jaune didn't quite seem to understand.
"It's also a gun." Ruby said as she cocked the trigger for emphasis.
"Oh…. That's cool." Jaune smiled.
"So, what do you got?" Ruby asked, her eyes noticing the sword strapped to Jaune's belt.
"Oh! Uh… I got this sword." He pulled out said sword, which wasn't anything transformable, just a regular sword, but Ruby looked impressed regardless. "I got a shield too." He pulled out the sword's sheath, which opened to reveal a white shield with the emblem of two golden crescent moons in the center.
"So, what do they do?" Ruby asked, touching the shield, accidentally causing it to snap open and close, which Jaune tried to grab as he lost his grip over it before it fell to the ground and he quickly picked it up.
"The shield gets smaller." Jaune answered awkwardly. "It's also a sheath for the sword, makes it easier to carry both."
"But... wouldn't it weigh the same?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah, it does…"Jaune said dejectedly, earning a giggle from Ruby.
"That's convenient." Ruby said. "I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons. Guess I kinda did go a little overboard in designing Crescent Rose."
"Wait… you made that?" Jaune looked in surprise and even awe.
"Of course. All students at Signal forge their own weapons." Ruby answered. "Didn't you make yours?"
"No. Mine is a hand-me-down." Jaune answered, feeling ashamed when comparing his weapon, Crocea Mors, to Ruby's Crescent Rose. "My great-great grandfather used it to fight in the war."
"Sounds more like a family heirloom to me." Ruby replied. "Well, I like it. Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days."
"Yeah… the classics." Jaune commented as he put his sword away, with Ruby doing the same for her weapon.
"So why did you help me out back there?" She asked. "In the courtyard?"
"Eh, why not? My mom always says, "strangers are just friends you haven't met yet"." Jaune answered.
"Hmm." Ruby looked around slightly and saw they weren't exactly anywhere near any other students and even appeared to be lost. "Hey, where are we going?"
"Oh, I don't know. I was following you."
"Y-You think there might be a directory? Maybe a food court? Some sort of recognizable landmark? Is, uh... Is that a "no"?" Jaune asked Ruby.
"That's a "no"." Ruby replied.
"Hello there." Ruby and Jaune whipped their heads behind for the source of the greeting to see a tall and lanky man standing right behind them, giving them a friendly wave. The man has short blonde hair like Jaune, with three long black hair strands that literally stick straight out of his yellow hair. He also wore a yellow short-sleeved shirt with white jogging shorts and red running shoes, which appeared like he was prepared for a workout run.
"S-Sorry Professor! We got lost and we do not know where to go!" Both Ruby and Jaune quickly apologized to the man.
"Woah, woah, woah, calm yourselves down, I'm not a professor here." The stranger in yellow assured them.
"Well-you-see-I'm-looking-for-my-friend-and-I've-heard-from-the-locals-that-a-wise-man-named-Ozpin-is-in-a-school-here, so-do-you-kids-happen-to-know-where-Ozpin-is?" The Stranger asked in a fast paced way that Ruby became swirly eyed again from trying to listen to the stranger while Jaune just stood there wide eyed and asked, "What?".
The stranger, upon seeing that they didn't say anything, repeated his question, albeit shorter and slower this time, "I'm looking for a guy named Ozpin, do you know where he is?"
"Not really, but he could be at the top of the school, most higher authorities in stories have their base of operations in high places." Ruby said as she pointed to the tower with the clock face. "Thanks, Red." The stranger said to Ruby before he turned to Jaune. "By the way, yellow, I like your style."
"Um...thanks?" Jaune said with a slight blush, as his style was never complimented before.
"Oh yeah, I see a bunch of students there, I think both of you are supposed to go there." The stranger in yellow pointed the way the students went to Ruby and Jaune before dashing off in a streak of yellow, leaving behind a fierce wind that almost blew Ruby and Jaune off.
"Woah, he's fast like me…how fast can he go?" Ruby said with awe, while Jaune didn't say anything as he was trying to look at the way that the man pointed out.
(Meanwhile, back in Ozpin's office…)
"Don't worry Red, I'm sure they are alright." Ozpin assured Red as Red was looking quite nervous.
"I can arrange for a team of huntsmen to assist you in searching for your friends,I'm sure they aren't far. Who knows, they might even be closer than you thi-"
"Excuse-me-are-you-Ozpin?" Ozpin slowly turned around to see a lanky man in yellow, apparently coming from the back window of his office.
"Yes, and you are?" Ozpin replied, somehow able to understand his fast paced talking
"My-name-is-Chuck-and-I'm-looking-for- " Chuck stopped to see a surprised Red.
"Red?!"
"Chuck?!"
"Oh my goodness! I thought you were dead, or went to the pigs side," Chuck cried out as he gave Red a big hug.
"There's no way I'm doing that, and you can stop hugging me now. " Red demanded.
"Well that's a good start to finding your friends. If I may, Mr. Chuck, how did you hear about Beacon and get here?"
"This school is a beacon? No wonder people kept talking about it and you, which I guess you kinda worked or lived here. As for how I got here, I hitched a ride on top of those cool looking airships and ended up here. The feeling of the wind on your face is really great."
"Chuck, the name of the school is Beacon." Red told Chuck.
"Oh."
"Pardon me for interrupting this conversation," Ozpin interrupted, "But I may have an idea where your other friends might be. I have received reports of multiple robberies across the Kingdom of Vale. All of them were thwarted rather swiftly, due to multiple sabotages such as missing tires, stolen items being swapped or gone missing, and some of the criminals responsible have traces of itching powder on them."
"That means…Chuck, let's go." Red told Chuck, which Chuck nodded in acknowledgment.
Ozpin took out a spare scroll from his desk drawer and handed it to Red. "Take this, it functions as a map and a communicator. If you desire, I can arrange a team of huntsmen to accompany the both of you, as well as transportation."
"We'll be fine, Chuck can help me through the mountains." Red said.
"And we have these cool weapons! To defend ourselves!" Chuck exclaimed while taking out a pair of yellow high-tech nunchucks.
"Where did you get those?" asked a surprised Red.
"Dunno, it's with me the whole time, and you have one too." Chuck said as he grabbed a red sword out of Red's back and handed it to Red, who didn't know he had a sword on him this whole time.
"Ok, that's interesting, I'll try it out later. We've got friends to find." Red said after looking at his sword before sheathing it back on his back.
"Your abilities are another thing I wish to discuss." Ozpin said. "But once you have found your friends, of course. Am I correct to assume that they have similar abilities?"
"Yes, but we're gonna to find them to be sure." Red replied as he exited out of the office with Chuck.
"Best of luck to you both, I've got to give a welcome speech to the new students."
As Red and Chuck entered the school's lifts, Red remembered something.
"Chuck?"
"Yeah?"
*SLAP!*
"Don't rush towards things recklessly next time!" Red scolded.
"Ow…Alright! Alright I'm sorry! Let's just get them." Chuck said.
