Day 15: "Fine, explain it to me."

"Oh really?" Asked Captain Raydor, her voice defiant, fists on her hips, back straight, chin held high as she moved closer to her Lieutenant.

"Really!" He confirmed, not backing down, not now.

She looked into his eyes for a moment before coming to his desk, moving her body between his and the wooden furniture, completely invading his space. She sat on it, crossing her long lean legs, resting her weight on her arms. She pursed her lips, licked them once. "Fine, explain it to me." Her voice and attitude seemed cool but for those who knew her, it was the clear sign of a brewing storm.

"You want me to explain it? To you?" He said, getting even more agitated. He got up, bumping into her legs, arms flying wide, nearly knocking over his coffee mug. "You know how women can be." He saw movement in the back. Provenza was rounding the troups to get them out. He met his eyes an instant, searching for support but only found dumbfoundedness.

"No, Andy, I don't know how WE women can be." She said oh so calmly.

"That's not what I meant." He started pacing. "Not really." He looked at his coworkers trying to escape unseen then to his boss and girlfriend. "But come on, Sharon, even you have to admit that she was clearly PMSing. She was all hysterical one moment and calmed down suddenly the second her white pants turned red. We should really stipulate that to Hobbs, they need to consider that factor…"

"You want her to plead insanity?!" He didn't seem to catch the incredulity in the voice because he just furiously nodded. She swallowed and slightly shook her head. "You think us women are slaves to our hormone's fluctuation and that to commit a murder while we menstruate is… hum… acceptable?!"

"Well, when you say it like that…" He rolled his eyes and looked at the others for support but couldn't meet anyone's eyes so her turned back to her. "Well, you have to admit it, Babe, you're wwwaayyy calmer and easier to deal with since you got into menopause." He heard Provenza caught and understood he said something really moronic. "Hey, Louie, you remember how she was back then?!" His own eyes opened big like saucers as the words flew out of his mouth, incapable as he was to shut and act in self-preservation.

"Well, Captain, we were about to get coffee. Sykes?" He called, flabbergasted by Andy's stupidity.

"No, I'm good, I have my tea." Responded the young detective, raising her mug.

"Sykes, now!" He hissed, starting to leave the room with the others on his heels.

"You stay right here." She enunciated clearly each words, making them stop dead in their tracks. "I need witnesses." She added, a dangerous smile forming on her lips.

"Would you also say that there is a link between women sex-life, or lack thereof, and their mood?" She added, coming closer to him, holding his tie.

He laughed slightly, surprised by her behavior. "Well, Babe, you certainly are in a way better mood in the mornings you get some, just like me." He said wiggling his eyebrows, his voice growing quieter, his words meant for her.

"Well, Lieutenant, I guess I'll be in a bad mood for quite some time…" And with that she moved past him, entered her office and slammed the door.

Andy looked at his coworker with regrets. "On a scale from 0 t…"

A chorus of "Ten" resonated with a "sensitivity training" in the middle. Yeah, he had to learn when to shut up. He really had to.
