Chapter 17
The probe

Beacon, Team RWBY Combat class
It has been a few days since Optimus was cleared for active duty after his berserker incident and currently team RWBY was in Miss. Goodwitch's combat class. Currently in the combat ring was Yang as she was fighting Cardin Winchester (I'm going to skip his appearance since this might be his only time appearing).
Cardin weapon was a metal mace, that he was currently swing all over the place as Yang dodged each swing and hasn't countered him once. Yang was trying out a new fighting style, where she wears out her opponents by having them use up all their energy. Then Cardin put all the power he could into one swing, but Yang dodged to the side as Cardin arm went wide. Seeing a chance Yang moved in and punched his wrist holding his mace. Cardin then let's go of his weapon in pain as his mace went flying away from him. Seeing that Cardin had no means to defend himself Yang let loose a flurry of punches as Cardin took each and everyone of them. Yang then gave him a haymaker as he went flying and landed roughly on the ground.
"That's enough miss Xiao Long." Said Glynda as she walked onto the fighting stage holding a tablet in her hands. Cardin groaned as he got up and glared at Yang.
"Now then as you can all see Mr. Winchester aura is in the red. In the Vytal festival that would mean he would be out of the match." Continued Glynda as she then checked the time. "That is, it for today. Have a good day students." She told them as the students started to leave.
"Miss Xiao Long a minute." Said Glynda as Yang walked over to her wondering what she wanted.
"I was wondering why the sudden change in your fighting style? Normally you would charge in like Mr. Winchester, but this time you out lasted him. I would like to know why?" Glynda asked her as Yang thought of the right way to answer that without telling her too much.
"Some friends of mine kept telling me not to rush in into every situation, but I didn't listen to them." Started Yang as Glynda wondered who these friends were as Yang continued. "Then one day one of them got sick with a really bad fever and started to attack everything that moved. He got better and apologised to everyone, but it showed me that you can't always charge head first into things and hope for everything to work out."
Glynda listened to everything she was told and could tell that there were gaps in the story. But she just filed it under the growing list of things team RWBY was not telling them.
"Very well you may go." Glynda told her with a sigh as she wished these girls would trust her more to tell her the truth. Not needing to be told twice Yang left and rejoined her team.
Later that day as Team RWBY were walking outside between classes. Blake then brought something up. "Why hasn't anyone been looking for the Axalon and her crew."
Hearing this the girls weren't sure what to say. "Who say's they aren't." Said Ruby as the others looked at her.
"Don't forget they traveled through space and time. It would be hard enough to find them though space, but with time that's a whole other story." Ruby told them as Weiss agreed.
"That is true, they probably have a search pattern they have to follow. So, it will take some time." Weiss added.
But then Yang said something that caught them all off guard. "But if they do come what will happen to Ruby then?"
Hearing this no one had any idea what to say. After all Ruby had a fragment of the Matrix of leadership in her and the Matrix is a holly relic of the transformers. Would they take her to try to get it out, or leave her be?
"We'll find out when it happens." Was all Ruby could say at the moment before adding. "But before we can worry about that they have to find Optimus and the other first. And who knows when that could happen."
But little did anyone on Remnant knew how close that was to happening.

Cybertron
On planet Cybertron the group that was assigned to finding the Axalon was meeting as they sat around a round table while three other bots stood to the side of the room watching.
"Trans-wrap ship Axalon commanded by Optimus Primal has not been found in normal space." The leader of the group said to the others in the room as he continued.
"We believe their pursuit of the Predacons who stole the golden disk may have taken them into another time zone. As such we will sent temporal probes out to scan for the Axalon's trans-wrap signature and hope we can find them."
Hearing this one of the bots off to the side huffed at what was said.
"Is there something you wish to add?" The leader of the groups asked.
"Yes, those probes are good, but if said ship trans-wrap engine had been damaged or anything of the sort has happened the probes will miss them. We should instead scan for the alloy the Axalon is made out of." Said the bot as he didn't agree with the plan.
"I know you and Optimus were very good friends and that you want to find him, but those type of probes take longer then the one we are sending." The leader told him as he continued. "I sorry but we are sending the first probes."
Hearing this the bot shook his head and started to leave as the other two bots with him followed suit.
Later at an orbiting space station a hanger door opened up. "Temporal probes launch." The controller said as the probes launched form the station on flew off in different directions.
At the same time the leader of the group watched them leave. "If Optimus and his crew are out there… I hope we can find them." He said to himself out loud as he hoped he made the right call on what type of probe to send.

Vale, Patch, Axalon
As one of the probes entered the system that Remnant was in Optimus, Cheetor, Rattrap and Dinobot were walking back to base after checking on a new Energon deposit near the coast. After a long day's work everyone was ready to head back to the base a relax for a bit, but Cheetor had other plans.
"Last one back to the base is Predacon chow!" Cheetor yelled to the others as he then took off running back to the base.
"Heh, no way furball. I ain't staring at no hairy cat but." Said Rattrap as he then rushed after Cheetor. Optimus and Dinobot then stopped and looked at each other as their two friends were racing each other.
"Optimus Primal Maximize." Was all Optimus said as he then transformed and activated his jets.
Back with Cheetor and Rattrap they were neck and neck as they raced to the base. But unaware to both of them Optimus was right above them as he then passed them without either of them knowing it. Cheetor then broke away from Rattrap and as he turned his head around to gloat, Optimus then landed right in front of him, causing Cheetor to run right into him.
Seeing this Rattrap stopped and looked at the downed cat. "Don't cat's ever get tired of being stupid?" he asked himself out loud.
"That was mega low, Optimus." Said Cheetor as he started to get up. "I was only racing Rattrap."
But that wasn't good enough for Optimus. "I'd could have been a Predacon or White Fang scout. When you're outside the base you pay attention." Berated Optimus as Cheetor looked away.
"If Ruby was here she wouldn't have any problems with it." Said Cheetor under his breath, but Optimus heard him.
"But she's not, I am." He told him as Dinobot calmly walked pass Cheetor.
"You think Megatron wasting his time playing games fool?" Asked Dinobot as he then transformed and walked beside Optimus as they entered the base.
Once inside they saw an odd sight of both Rhinox and Boomer working on something hard.
"I'd rerouted life support to the scanners is that helping?" Asked Boomer as the others wondered what they were looking for.
"Yes, it did. I can now get though the energon interference." Rhinox told him as Optimus spoke up.
"What's going on?"
"The long-range scanners, its picking up signals from space." Rhinox told Optimus as he continued to work.
"We've been working on it for the last cycle mate." Added Boomer.
"It's probably a Predacon trick." Dinobot told Rhinox as he knew no other reason why the scanner would pick up something from space.
"What if it's the aliens again?" Asked Cheetor as he voiced the question the others were sacred to ask.
"Rattrap see if you can get me a visual." Asked Rhinox as he didn't answer Cheetor as he didn't want to jump to conclusions.
"Yeah on it." Answered Rattrap as he then transformed and took a set and started to work.
After a few minutes of work Rattrap almost had what the scanner were picking up. "Yes!" He cried out as the other Maximals looked at him as he spun around in his chair in joy. Rattrap the looked at the monitor and was shocked at what he saw.
"Strip my gears and call me a fog lamp. Is that what I think it is?" He said in shock, as on his screen was a temporal probe.
"Yup." Said Rhinox confirming what Rattrap found. "A temporal probe. Cybertron found us!" He yelled out in joy.
"Your pulling our circuits?" Asked Cheetor in disbelief but as Rhinox said nothing the reality sank into him. "We're going home."
But Rhinox had one thing to add to it. "If we can make contact, before it moves away." He then started to push buttons at a fast rate trying to make contact.
"YES!" Cried Cheetor in joy.
"Can you make contact?" Asked Optimus as he didn't want to get his hopes up.
"I'm going to give it a Maximal try." Was all Rhinox said as he concentrated on his work. "Sending signal now." He told the others as he pressed a button and awaited the news.
Everyone watched the screen as they awaited the news that could change the beast wars, as finally the computer spoke.
"Hailing code not acknowledged. Probe moving beyond communication range."
Hearing that no one said anything as they all had their hopes up.
"You did you best Rhinox. No one could have done more." Said Optimus trying to stay positive as he put a supportive hand on Rhinox's shoulder, but even he felt terrible.
"He's right mate." Added Boomer as he turned to face Rhinox. "I was with you the whole time we did everything we could, and it just wasn't enough I'm afraid."
"I blew it." Said Rhinox grimly, but then his mood changed. "But we might still have a chance."
Hearing this, the others weren't sure what he meant. "What do you mean?" Asked Optimus voicing everyone's question.
"You know how this type of probes work. They home in on the trans-wrap signature of the missing ship." Rhinox told the others as they still weren't sure what he meant by this.
"But our trans-wrap engine been offline since the crash." Stated Rattrap.
"That's why the probe moved on. But it will be back just before it leaves this system." Rhinox finally explained to the others.
"So, if we duplicate our trans-wrap signature, before it returns and send it to the probe." Said Optimus with more hope then he has been since the war began.
"We'll be on our way home." Finished Rhinox as everyone in the room cheered. Everyone save Dinobot who looked like he just lost the war.
After a few minutes of celebrating Optimus spoke up. "Ok, Ok. I know everyone is happy, but we have a lot of work to do first."
"What do you mean bit bot?" Asked Cheetor wondering what he meant. "Can't we use the CCT Towers to send the signal?"
"We can't for two main reasons." Said Rhinox. "Frist to send a signal that powerful would alert everyone on Remnant to what we did and second the towers are pointed the wrong way. When they were built they were made for plant wide communication, not for interplanetary. If we're doing this we have to build a comm tower ourselves."
"Then that's what we'll do." Said Optimus as he looked at everyone in the room.
"Boomer, Cheetor and Rattrap I want you three to gather what we need to make the tower and load it into the dropship. I don't want the Predacons to realize what we're doing. Dinobot I want you to get the special sensor posts we've been working on ready. I don't want anyone getting close to us without our knowledge. Rhinox I want you to find the best spot top build the tower and then start copying our trans-wrap signature.
Hearing this the bots were about to move until Cheetor spoke up. "What about you, big bot?"
Hearing this the others looked at him wondering what he will do.
"I'm going to call in Tigatron and then make a dangerous call." Optimus told Cheetor as the other wondered who the dangerous call was.
"What do you mean mate?" Asked Boomer trying to wrap his head around what he said.
"Have you ever woken up teenage girls in the middle of the night and tell them they had to work early in the morning." Replied Optimus with a laugh as the others laughed as well since it was 11 PM and if Weiss answered she would not be happy at all.

Vacuo, Maximal location
It was the early the next day as the Maximals were unloading their gunship on a large hill with a flat top. It wasn't an ideal location as they had a rock wall facing to their back, but the other sides of the hill had a clear line of sight of them. And to make things worse there were some large rocks laying around giving people the perfect place to spy on them.
If they had time Optimus would have them remove the rocks and set up some sort of defence grid around the hill. But time was against them, so he had to make due with what they had.
"And that's our foundation." Said Optimus as he put the last pole into place. "Lets get to work."
"You do realize we're in Predacon territory." Said Dinobot as he stated the obvious to everyone.
"He is right Optimus." Said Weiss as she changed her clothes from her white combat shirt and shirt to workout clothes. "We stand out too much here. It will only be a matter of time before we're found out."
"I know, but this was the nearest clear zone, the next closest one was in Atlas and I doubt we would all want to work up there." Optimus told the two as he looked at everyone as he addressed them all.
"I know this puts us in a dangerous position, but if we can contact that probe, Cybertron will come and that can end the beast wars. I already have Tigatron patrolling the area and Ruby is placing sensor nodes around the area in order to warn us of anything coming our way."
"Aw, I know that but what do we do about that gun ship?" Asked Rattrap as he pointed to said ship.
"Weiss will take it back to base and come back with Rhinox when he's done cloning our Tran-swap signature. Its your job to make sure that he and that signature is safe." Optimus told her as Weiss did not look happy about it.
"You mean I wore these rags for no reason!" Said Weiss as she wasn't happy to hear any of that.
"Would you rather help us build the tower and I send someone else to take it easy?" Asked Optimus as he knew the answer.
"Well we do need someone with skill and grace to make sure Rhinox gets here ok." Said Weiss as she praised herself as Blake and Rattrap rolled their eyes.
"Ok, and when you come back travel by ground bridge. I want to get this over with as fast as we can." Optimus told her as Weiss nodded and made her way over to the gun ship.
"Optimus I'll go join Tigatron guard the perimeter." Said Blake as she got ready to leave.
"NO." Said Optimus with a little bit of force then necessary, as the other gave him funny looks. "I want as many hands working on the tower. The more people we have guarding the perimeter the more likely we could be found out."
Hearing this the other nodded as they understood all but Blake and Rattrap. They knew what Optimus really meant, he didn't trust her alone when they have such an important mission. After all if she really was with the White fang still this would be an ideal time to contact them.
With nothing else to say everyone got to work as Ruby returned as she finished with her job.
Meanwhile with Tigatron he stood on a ledge nearby as he watched the gun ship fly away as he took in the nature around him. "Aw, the air is sweet today." He said to himself as he wondered something. "I wonder can Cybertron match such natural beauty?"
But then he heard and smelled a familiar bug flying around. "Wazzpinator. Tigatron Maximize!" Said Tigatron as he transformed and got ready to deal with a pesky fly.
With Wazzpinator he was currently doing a routine check of the area as he mumbled/complain about Megatron sending him to look out for Maximals once again. Then out of no where he heard the click of a gun.
"Your search is over Predacon." Tigatron told Wazzpinator as he came out from behind some rocks and then fired at him. The first shot hit Wazzpinator as he then flew out of control and out of sight.
"Next time your searching for Maximals, keep your mind on the job." Tigatron told Wazzpinator as he was about to warn Optimus and the others about what happened.
"His job was bait." Explained Tarantulas as Tigatron looked behind him to see the spider in beast mode.
"And you're the trap?" Asked Tigatron as he got his weapon ready.
But what Tarantulas said next worried him. "Not a trap Maximal. A test."
"Of What?" Tigatron asked as he got ready for anything.
"Of my new toy." Tarantulas told him as Tigatron felt something behind him. Looking back he saw an odd device hovering behind him. It had a sphere in the front that was being held by some half cylinder floating device.
The sphere then glowed purple as it then fired some type of beam at Tigatron. Not wanting to find out what it did Tigatron jumped out of the way. He then returned fire at the device, but it moved out of the way each time. All the while Tarantulas was laughing as Tigatron knew he was in trouble.
While this was going on the rest of the Maximals were hard at work building the tower as they just put up the dish.
"Good thing Weiss isn't here. She would probably being complain the whole time." Joked Yang as she went for some water.
"That one of the reasons I sent her back." Agreed Optimus as Cheetor wondered something.
"Then what are the other reasons big bot?"
"We needed make our presence here as small as possible and the gun ship wouldn't allow us to do that, and Weiss had the best score flying it. She also the best one to guard Rhinox since her skills are varied." Optimus told the others, but before anyone could say anything else they heard gun fire.
"Yikes, missile fire!" Yelled out Rattrap as Ruby went to her comm.
"Tigatron come in." She said into the comm but got no reply. That meant either they got him, or he couldn't answer at the moment.
Seeing this Optimus turned to Cheetor. "Cheetor scout and report." He told him as Cheetor ran off transforming into beast mode.
Meanwhile Ruby checked the sensor net on her scroll. "Whatever happening, the people reasonable snuck in while I put the net up." Ruby said out loud as Optimus nodded.
"I'll follow him. He may need my warrior skills." Offered Dinobot but Optimus had other plans.
"No, we need you here. We haven't got much time to finish the array." Optimus told him.
"Oh, of course." Said Dinobot, who was less then thrilled. "We wouldn't want to miss our chance to go home."
"Dinobot what's wrong?" Asked Ruby as he never like this before. Dinobot just turned his head around not wanting to look at any of them.
It was then Blake understood what was wrong. "He doesn't want to go back." She told the others as Dinobot turned to face her. "You forget that he was a Predacon when this all started. If he goes back Cybertron won't care if he helped you, they'll just throw him in jail."
Hearing that Optimus turned to Dinobot. "Is that true?"
"It is." Said Dinobot as he looked at all the Maximals. "Your all so eager to get home, but your home is not mine. Blake is right I am Predacon despite our alliance. And when your ship come to rescue you, my fate will be the same as Megatron's."
Nobody said anything as they let what Dinobot said sink in until Ruby spoke up. "You're not the only ones who's scared."
Hearing this everyone looked at her in surprise, except Yang and Blake knew what she was talking about.
"I have a fragment of the Matrix of leadership in me. When the other transformers from Cybertron find out about it what will happen to me? Will they leave me be, will they take me to Cybertron to either have me live there or to try to take the Matrix out of me? Your not the only one who is worried."
Optimus then put his two cents in. "I won't let that happen." Said Optimus as he then looked at Ruby. "To either of you. Dinobot you're a Maximal now and we'll see your treated as one." Optimus told him as he put a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"And what makes you think I want that?" Questioned Dinobot as he shrugged the hand off his shoulder. "If you had had to choose between protecting me or Ruby who will you choose?" He questioned as Optimus didn't say anything as he had no answer at the moment.
Dinobot then walked off as no one stopped him as they let him be, as they then started to work again.
Back with Tigatron he was still dodging the devices shots, while trying to take it down. While this was going on Tarantulas just stood back and watched as he was laughing the whole time.
"You're only wearing yourself out. Eventually the lens will find you." And no sooner as Tarantulas said that the lens hit Tigatron as he changed back into beast mode.
"What in the Matrix? What is happening?" Tigatron asked out loud as he didn't transform of his own will.
"It works! How gratifying. Tarantulas Terrorize!" Said Tarantulas she transformed with his gun ready.
Seeing this Tigatron went to transform only to find out he couldn't.
Seeing this Tarantulas laughed. "Isn't life full of surprises." He mocked as he took aim, but Tigatron wasn't going to make it easy for him as he pounced at him. But Tarantulas knocked him away easily as Tigatron slammed into a rock. Tarantulas then fired his gun as an energy web hit him, trapping him to the rock as the web then shocked him.
"Poor tiger." Mocked Tarantulas once again. "You never had a chance."
"He's got a better chance then you chuckles!" Said Cheetor as Tarantulas looked up in surprise as Cheetor aimed his gun down at him. Cheetor then jumped down as he never took his eyes off Tarantulas, as he learnt the hard way he one tricky Predacon.
"One wrong move and your wreckage." Cheetor threaten the spider as he continued. "Step away from Tigatron, slowly."
Tarantulas then dropped his gun and raised his hands. "As you wish." Tarantulas told Cheetor as Cheetor knew something was up. Then Tarantulas stepped to the side to reveal the lens fully charged as it fired at Cheetor who had no time to react.
The beam hit Cheetor died centre as he changed into beast mode. Cheetor unsure as to why he transformed tried to get back into robot mode, only to fail.
"Don't cats ever get tried of being stupid?" Tarantulas mostly asked himself as he raised his gun at Cheetor and fired. The next thing Cheetor knew he was webbed like Tigatron as he was knocked out.
"Two down, five to go." Tarantulas said as he looked at his handywork.

Vale, Patch, Axalon
Meanwhile back at the Axalon Rhinox was hard at work as Weiss (Back in her normal clothes) sat nearby, quietly not wanting to disturb Rhinox. Rhinox was at the main table as a projection of some sort of wave length was being projected. Rhinox pressed some more buttons and another wave length appeared.
"Trans wrap signature replicated." Announced Sentinel as Weiss got up and went to Rhinox.
"So, it's done?" She asked as she was tired of waiting around with nothing to do.
"Yes." Rhinox told her. "Now we just have to get it to the tower and hopefully by this time tomorrow the beast wars will be over."
Hearing this made Weiss happy. "How long do we have till the probe is back?" She asked as Sentinel.
"1.4 megacycles." Sentinel answered as Weiss knew a megacycle meant an hour in their time units.
"We'd better hurry then." Said Rhinox as he pulled a chip out of the console.
Seeing this Weiss wondered something. "Wouldn't it be better to use a scroll or something like that, rather then a chip?"
"Normally yes, but since we're racing the clock a hard copy will be faster to install then getting a connection ready." Rhinox told her as he then noticed something weird. "Oh no."
Weiss notice his look. "What's wrong?" She asked wondering what was wrong.
"I forgot to realign the ground bridge." Rhinox told her as Weiss wasn't sure what the problem was, as Rhinox saw the look on her face. "You see each world is constantly moving, so you need to realign the ground bridge from time to time. Otherwise you can end up miles from where you want to go."
"So, can we bridge there?" Weiss asked him unsure what all that means.
"If we had a radio signal to lock on to yes, but since this project is top secret, we can't contact them to lock on." Rhinox told her as Weiss had an idea.
"Can we bridge in close then?"
Rhinox thought about it as he rubbed his chin. "Yes, but we'll be out anywhere from a few miles to at least a 100 KM away."
Hearing this Weiss thought of their options. Either they fly over there and risk getting seen or they walk for several KM. After thinking about it Weiss made up her mind. "I guess were walking." She told Rhinox who nodded in agreement, as the two went to the bridge.

Vacuo, Maximal location
"Optimus we have a problem." Ruby told Optimus as she walked up to him.
"What's wrong?' Asked Optimus as he was wondering what was happening with Cheetor and Tigatron.
"The scanner picked up a ground bridge in the area that Tigatron was patrolling before the explosions were heard." Ruby told Optimus as he didn't need to be told any more.
Optimus then turned around to the others. "Look alive people. We have reason to believe that Cheetor and Tigatron have been captured by the Predacons." Optimus told everyone as everyone gave each other looks of worry, other then Dinobot. "Everyone keep an eye out for anything that's stands out or doesn't look right. We don't know if there are more Predacons in the area or not."
But little did Optimus knew that behind a nearby rock someone was filming them.
After getting everything he wanted Scorponok turned to Terrorsaur. "Megatron must know." He told Terrorsaur as he handed him a sphere with the recording he took. "Take this to him immediately. I'll keep an eye on the Maximals. What ever they're doing, well soon put a stop to it."
Terrorsaur then took off but kept low so the Maximals wouldn't see him.

Vacou, Darksyde
Later at the Darksyde Megatron, the other Predacons, Roman and Adam were watching the footage Scorponok took, as they had Cheetor and Tigatron in separate cages behind them.
"Is it a weapon?" Asked Blackarachnia as she watched the footage.
"If it is, it's the weirdest one I've ever seen." Roman told her as he lit a cigar.
"No it looks more like a long range signal array." Tarantulas told them as that raised more questions.
"Yess, but why would Optimus risk building it inside our territory?" Megatron wondered out loud.
Adam turned to their captives who stayed quite this whole time. "I know two cats to ask." He said as he flew his platform over to them.
"Ah, an excellent idea." Praised Megatron as he joined Adam.
"You have two choices." Started Adam as he looked at Cheetor. "Tell us what we want to know, or…" He trialed off as he got his sword ready to show what he meant.
"Why don't you go over there and ask the others yourself." Countered Cheetor as Adam was about to cut him down. But at that second the sensors picked up something gaining everyone's attention.
"What's that?!" Asked/ordered Megatron.
"The space scanner." Answer Tarantulas as he then continued. "Its picking up some sort of craft. It will be over the planet in 10 cycles."
Hearing this Cheetor spoke up. "The probe!" He said lightly but Megatron heard him.
"Probe?" Megatron asked himself out loud as the pieces fell into place. "Prepare for a full-scale assault. The array must be destroyed immediately. Tarantulas.." Started Megatron only to be cut off by Adam.
"Megatron what's going on?"
Hearing this Megatron turned to Adam, as Adam continued. "I won't commit men to a mission I know nothing about." He told Megatron.
Knowing he had little time Megatron answered him. "That is a Maximal probe sent from Cybertron. If the Maximals make contact with it, then Cybertron will know where they are and when they get here nothing will stop them from arresting us and everyone in this base."
Hearing this Roman started to slowly move away as he made escape plans for such an occasion.
"Roman." Said Megatron without even looking at him. "Let me make myself clear if I fall I will take the rest of you down with me. Do I make myself clear?"
Hearing this Roman knew he had no choice. "Yeah, crystal clear." He told him.
Then as Megatron gave got his orders Roman made his way over to Adam and quickly without anyone seeing him handed him a recording device. Adam didn't need to be told what was on it as he quickly hid it, knowing that when the time was right he will us it.
Meanwhile Cheetor felt terrible. "Me and my big mouth." Cheetor said as his head hung low as everyone in the room left.
"They would have attacked the array anyway." Tigatron reassured him. "But at least they left only a few men to guard the base."
"Yeah." Said Cheetor as his attitude changed for the better. But before they could start any escape plan Emerald came into the room and flew to Tigatron change door. She gave a smirk as she opened his cage door.
Tigatron was confused but wasn't going to waste a chance. He then jumped at Emerald shocking the girl.
"Why did you open the cage?" Asked Tigatron as Emerald eyes went wide in shock.
"You… you can see me!?" She said in disbelief as both cats were wondering what she was talking about.
Seeing that he wasn't going to get anything out of her Tigatron then moved the platform to Cheetor's cage and let him out.
He then turned back to Emerald. "Where is the Predacon CR tanks?" Tigatron asked as he gave a growl for good measure.
'This was not in the plan.' Thought Emerald as Cinder told her to you're her semblance and let the Maximals out and the trick them into entering Scorponok's lab and then get the bomb off her. But they saw right through her semblance.
"It's that way." Emerald told them as the two cats nodded at each other and then raced off.
Emerald meanwhile could only stare at where the two went. Never before in her life has her semblance failed her like this. It has been her crutch for years and if cybertronians can't be affect by it, then what use was she to Cinder in this mess. She slowly got up and started to make her way back to where Cinder was going to meet her. Though she wasn't looking forward to telling her that her semblance couldn't affect transformers like they hoped.

Vacuo, Maximal location
Scorponok peeked around the rock he was hiding to look at the Maximals as he saw the bots and two of the girls working on the array as he readied to attack them.
"Excuse me could you hold this for me?" Asked a voice behind him.
Not thinking about it Scorponok turned his body without looking away from the Maximals. "Sure." The told the person.
"Thanks…Sucker." Said the person causing Scorponok to turn around only to see rose pedals in the air. He then looked down at what was given to him and saw it was a bomb. Scared and shocked he tried to throw it away, but it then exploded sending him flying through the air as the Maximals watched him.
"Wow, he did fall for it." Said Yang as she watched Scorponok fall down a cliff. "Guess I owe you 20 lien sis." Yang told her sister who beamed at winning their bet and was glad they caught that flyer leaving their air space and then back tracked where he came from.
Meanwhile Dinobot place the control console down on the array. "There done. All it need now is the trans-wrap module. Assuming Rhinox and Weiss can get it here on time." Dinobot told the others.
"Hey, don't worry they will." Rattrap told Dinobot. "Not that you give nanobit." But just after saying that Optimus gave Rattrap a whack on the back of his head.
"He didn't mean it mate." Boomer told Dinobot hoping to calm him down.
"Aw, to the inferno with all three of you." Dinobot told them as he was in no mood for it right now.
The girls looked at the scene before them as no one said anything until Yang spoke. "Hey Optimus, do you really need to tell the other Maximals about the Matrix? I mean if they don't know about it, then Ruby would be safe right?"
"Yang…" Started Optimus as he choose his words carefully.
"Ruby and her files are in the Axalon's computer system, if we delete them and the council see the gasps in our system then they will know we're hiding something and then who knows what they will do. As much as I don't want to do it we need to tell them the truth. Only that way we can get the most control over it. But do know that I will use every bit of power I have to let Ruby stay here."
"And the worst-case scenario?" Asked Blake.
Optimus sighed as he answered. "They might try to remove the Matrix fragment from Ruby and if they can't…. Well I don't know what will happen."
Hearing this no one knew what to say.
"Then we'll deal with it when it happens." Said Ruby as everyone turned to face her. "There's no sense worrying about it right now."
Everyone knew she was putting on a strong face for them, as they knew she was scared. But then Ruby's scroll beeped.
Ruby looked at it before telling the others. "We got boogies in coming."
"How many?" Asked Optimus as everyone got ready for battle.
"A lot." Ruby told him as she saw a lot of red dots on the screen. "Should we use our secret weapon?" She asked as Optimus looked at the screen himself.
"Wait for it." He told Ruby when they were fired upon from above.
Looking up they saw Terrorsaur in robot mode, and quickly returned fire on the flyer. But after a few seconds of combat Terrorsaur retreated.
"Hey where leather puss going?' Asked Rattrap wondering what happened.
"He always was a coward." Answered Dinobot as someone spoke up behind him.
"Granted, but he makes an excellent diversion." Said Megatron as he had Blackarachnia, Tarantulas, Roman and Adam with him.
"You don't know what your doing Megatron." Said Optimus as he gave Ruby a signal. Seeing this Ruby got her scroll ready.
"Oh, on the contrary I know all about the probe from Cybertron and I mean to see you don't contact it." Megatron told Optimus.
"If I were you guys I would give up. We out number you 20 to 1." Roman told the Maximals, as Optimus just grinned.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that." Optimus told him as he then turned to Ruby. "Now!"
Ruby then pressed a button on her scroll. Then out of no where Adam feel to his knees holding his ears in pain. Soon they heard the White fang surrounding the hill screaming out in pain. Seeing this Blake know knew why Rattrap gave her those earplugs now.
Megatron scowled as he knew what was happening. "A screech. How low and under handed Optimus. I didn't think you had it in you." Praised Megatron as he truly never thought the Maximals would use such a device. Maybe he should install some in the Darksyde in case the White fang should ever turn on him. "Predacons attack!"
"What about the White Fang?" Asked Blackarachnia wondering what he will say.
"They cannot do anything right now. Forget them." Megatron told her as he fired his T-rex laser at the Maximals as Tarantulas and Roman did the same thing. Blackarachnia took a quick look at Adam who was trying to fight though the pain as she joined in.
The Maximals quickly took cover, while Dinobot charged forward. But then the lens came out of no where and fired at Dinobot, transforming him back into beast mode.
Then Roman fired his gun at Dinobot point blank range. The blast knocked Dinobot for a loop as he fell down.
"Like the new toy?" Asked Roman as he smirked down at Dinobot with his gun pointed at him. The out of no where Yang punched Roman sending him into a nearby rock.
"You ok?" Yang asked him as she held out a hand for him.
Dinobot grabbed it as he then tried to transform but couldn't. "No, I can't transform." He told her as Yang was shocked to hear this.
Meanwhile both Boomer, Blake and Rattrap were near the array keeping it safe.
"Where are Rhinox and Weiss?" Asked Blake as she fired on Blackarachnia.
"They'll be here." Said Rattrap as he got a shot off on Blackarachnia 's stomach and then the three of them shot her off the cliff.
As they were glad there was one less threat they had to deal with they failed to see the lens as it fired at Rattrap.
"Hey! What the!?" Cried out Rattrap as he was forced into beast mode.
"Mate what's wrong?" Asked Boomer as the lens then got him too. "Crickey mates!"
Blake looked at the two. "Why are you two in beast mode?" She asked.
"It's not by choice." Rattrap told her as Blake then saw the lens.
She then went for it only to get hit by one of Tarantulas webs, trapping her to the ground. Seeing this Boomer and Rattrap tried to free her.
"Ah, ha, ha. No touching dear. It was very hard to build it." Taunted Tarantulas only to receive a shot gun blast from Optimus knocking him into a rock that then turn over on him.
But with his back turned the lens got him as well. Megatron grinned as all the Maximals were trapped in beast mode and all he had left to deal with were two girls.
"Your dreams of returning to Cybertron are over Optimus." Mocked Megatron as he was then blasted by Ruby.
"Yang guard the tower and the others." Ordered Ruby as Yang didn't get a chance to say anything as she continued. "I've got Megatron."
Ruby then used her semblance as rushed at Megatron and then ran circles around him giving him light cuts all over forcing him to stand still and try to cover himself. She then jumped up into the air and loaded lighting dust into Crescent Rose and fired sending bolts of electricity through Megatron's body. Ruby then landed on the ground and got ready to charge Megatron again, this time to cut his head off. She then charges and as she got close Megatron grabbed her with his T-rex head.
"Your good." Said Megatron panting a little from all the blows he took. "But now it is over." He boasted as he saw Yang charging him. He then fired a missile at her, as Yang jumped back to avoid it. The missile hit the ground in front of her knocking her to the ground by the force of the explosion.
Megatron then looked back at Ruby with a grin. "Any last words?" He asked as he ready to crush her in his hand/mouth. But before she could say anything her felt someone tap him on his shoulder. Wondering who it was he turned and saw Rhinox there fist arced back.
"Don't count on it motor head." Rhinox told him as he punched Megatron right in the face, causing him to let go of Ruby, as he flew away from them. Then Weiss summoned her knight as Megatron looked on in both shocked and awe. The knight then grabbed Megatron and squeezed him causing him to cry out in pain. Then the knight got into a baseball pitcher pose and tossed Megatron as far away as it could.
Seeing that Megatron was taken care of Rhinox looked at the scene before him. "What happened here?" He asked as Optimus walked over to the array.
"There's no time for that now." Optimus told him and Rhinox nodded and went to the control console on the array.
Rhinox then pushed a few buttons. "Online." He told the others and the array pointed upwards.
As this was happening Ruby cut Blake out of the web as she looked over at Rhinox. "Rhinox MOVE!" Blake screamed at him as Rhinox looked at her wondering what she was talking about.
But it was too late as the lens blasted him turning him back into beast mode.
Acting act Weiss drew her gun and fired at the lens destroying it.
Seeing that the lens was gone Ruby rushed over to Rhinox. "What's left to do?" She asked him as Rhinox looked up at her.
"You have to enter the rest of the code."
"Shame you won't get the chance." Said someone as Maximals looked over and saw Adam standing with a rocket launcher aimed at the array.
'How?' Thought Ruby as time slowed down for her. 'How is he standing. The screech should have him unable to move?' Then she remembered Terrorsaur wasn't there. 'He must have gone after the sensor posts.'
Then time resumed as Adam fired, Ruby then heard Blake shout out 'Adam NNOOOOO'. But it was too late as the missile hit its target and the array exploded.
No one said anything as the watched as pieces of the array feel all around them. Then Yang looked at Adam with her eyes turning red.
"YOU!" Yang cried out as she rushed at Adam who was still weak as she punched him right in the gut, then the chin forcing him up off the ground and then in the stomach knocking him away.
Ruby and Optimus looked around as they saw the weakened Maximals and the destroyed array.
"No." They heard as they saw both Cheetor and Tigatron approach them in robot mode guns drawn.
"Did we get a signal out?' Cheetor asked hoping they would say yes, but their expressions said otherwise.
"We need to leave." Blake told the others.
"Why?" Asked Weiss as she felt everything they did today was for nothing.
"If Adam could move that means the rest of the White Fang can too." She told Weiss as Dinobot caught on.
"And in our current state, we'd be helpless."
Ruby the activated her comm. "Sentinel activate a ground bridge at our current location." She ordered as a few seconds later the bridge opened and the Maximals wearily dragged themselves through it.
As they all knew they lost today, on a day they couldn't lose on. The Predacons did more then destroy there one chance of contacting Cybertron, they destroyed the Maximals spirts and who know how long it will take to repair that.
Well first off I would like to apologies for taking so long.
Next, I know that people are wondering why didn't Emerald's semblance work on Tigatron and Cheetor. I would like to point out again that I have said that humans and transformers are wired differently, so while Emerald can mess with a human's head she can't with Transformers.
Next, I sure some of you are wondering about the whole realigning the ground bridge thing. I need a reason as to why Rhinox and Weiss just didn't get there on time. As much as I wanted them to win it would be boring if the story was over already.
And lastly with how Cybertronians will react to Ruby with the Matrix, well I haven't figured that out yet. So, anything could go with that.
And as a final note the three bots form the start of the chapter will reappear later. Until then.
