Vale, Beacon, Teams RWBY and CFVY dorm
It was a stormy night cross both Vale and Vacou as lighting illuminated the sky. At teams RWBY and CFVY dorm room everyone was doing their school work.
"I hate this." Grumbled Yang as she looked up from her text book.
"The school work or the fact we're still on medical leave?" Asked Yatsuhashi as he put down his pen.
After the energon explosion every non-transformer member of the explosion was put on medical leave for safety reasons. Yang said she was fine, but Optimus, Ruby and Ozpin denied her request.
"Both." Grumbled Yang as she wanted to get back to the field.
"If you have this much energy, then finish your report for professor Port." Suggested Weiss as she was already done.
Yang groaned at that. She still had a lot of work to do on it. She then turned to Ruby who was typing on her laptop.
"How far are you sis?" Asked Yang curious.
"I'm done." She told Yang surprising her and Weiss.
"Already?" Asked Weiss as she was already done.
"Yeah. When I'm on scanner duty I multi-task and got it done." Explained Ruby surprising a lot of people.
"Wait you guys don't?" Asked Ruby as the nearly everyone shook their heads 'no'.
"You should." Said Weiss as she's done it a few times.
There was then a large boom of thunder causing Blake and Velvet to cover their ears. Ruby looked outside as she was glad no one was out in this storm.
"That lightning is crazy." Said Coco as she read on her scroll serval buildings have been hit by it.
"As long as they don't hit any sensor posts we'll be fine." Joked Ruby as the others laughed at her joke, expect for Yang.
"Don't joke about that sis. You could have died." She told Ruby.
"I know, but I got us intel and a new…" Trailed off Ruby as she had a far off look in her eyes.
Seeing this confused the others, as they wondered what was wrong.
"Ruby?" Asked Weiss as she shook Ruby's shoulder as that brough her out of it.
"What?" Asked Ruby confused.
"What happened there red?" Asked Coco confused.
"I don't know how to explain it. But it feels like something's here. Something dangerous." Said Ruby as she didn't know how to explain the feeling she got. But she did know one thing, this feeling came from the Matrix.

Vale, Patch, Axalon
Things at the Axalon were worse then at Vale. Because it was a lone metal structure the lighting was attracted to it. As a bolt of lighting hit the Axalon.
Inside the Axalon Cheetor and Speedclaw fell to the ground form the blow.
"Talk about a light show." Said Cheetor a little rattled.
"Light show? This feels most like a demolition derby." Said Speedclaw as he shook his head.
"Warning! Sentinel shield has been damaged." Announced Sentinel as this this made everyone nervous.
"One more direct hit, and we'll be the grand finale." Warned Rhinox as the shield was taking a pounding in this storm.
"I knew I shouldn't have come here today." Said Qrow as he felt his semblance was to blame.
"The storm would have come either way." Said Optimus as he felt Qrow blamed himself too much. But he had bigger problems right now.
"For now, we need to store the spare weapons and ammo in the hold." He told the others as they got to work as he looked at Boomer.
"How's Skyshooter and Bladegator doing with the shield repairs?" He asked Boomer hoping for good news.
"Sorry mate, but it's easier to fix the shields when their down. And this storm is making that impossible." Boomer told Optimus as Optimus shook his head.
"Do you have any good news?" Optimus asked Boomer hopeful.
"Airazor called in and said she found a nice, safe cave for the night." Boomer told Optimus as that was one thing he didn't need to worry about. When the storm hit, they were worried about her as she was out on Patrol but at least she was safe.

Vacou, Darksyde
At the Darksyde they weren't fairing much better. But what no one knew a small ball of light that glowed blue and pulsed was hovering over the base. In fact, it looked just like a Transformer's spark. The ball then suddenly rushed the base as it went through the hull.
Inside the Darksyde Wazzpinator was using a console when it suddenly glowed. It then shocked Wazzpinator as he was went flying. Megatron saw this from his command chair as he turned to Wazzpinator.
"Quickly damage report!" Ordered Megatron as Wazzpinator got up.
"Moderate. Wazzpinator in pain. But still functional." Reported Wazzpinator as he reported the wrong thing.
"Not you imbecile! The computer!" Yelled Megatron as this storm was pushing his patience to the limit.
"Megatron, calm down." Said Adam as he floated over to him. Megatron glared at Adam, but he wasn't fazed by it.
"I know your angry about the storm but taking it out on the men won't serve any purpose." Adam told him as Megatron knew he had a point.
It was then they got two alerts.
"Command we have a gas leak in east wing. It toxic to organics!" Reported a White Fang member.
"Megatron, we have an electrical fire on the lower deck." Reported Scorponok.
Adam looked at Megatron. "I'll take the fire, if you take the gas." He suggested.
"Agreed." Said Megatron as the two headed out.
But as they left the console Wazzpinator was using sparked and glowed slightly.

Vale, Patch, Axalon
Back at the Axalon Optimus was handing Rhinox a crate of bullets, as he put them into the hold. In the hold was dozens of guns, missiles, bullets and other weapons.
"That's the last of it." Said Rhinox as he climbed out.
Qrow looked down and whistled. "I thought you guys were explores?" He told Optimus.
"We are." Optimus told him curious to where he was going.
"Then why all the guns?" Qrow asked him curious to the answer.
"Just because we're peaceful doesn't mean other races are. Sometimes things can get ugly." Optimus told him as Qrow understood.
"Yo! Audio up fellows! This is your rodent robot reporter. You want the bad news or the worst news?" Said Rattrap over the comms as the three of them looked at each other wondering what happened. They then headed to the command area for a full report.

Wazzpinator grumbled as he put the console back together as he finished his check. But things weren't looking good for him.
"What is this?! Why won't program respond?! Wazzpinator does not understand?!" Cried out Wazzpinator as he couldn't figure out what was wrong with the console.
"You know you can't help but feel bad for that guy." Said a White Fang member as she and her friend watched him.
"Yeah, he gets blow up, smashed, and all sort of things happen to him." Agreed her friend.
Then out of nowhere the console that Wazzpinator was working suddenly glowed. Everyone in the room was shocked to see this as no one moved. The people of the White Fang swore they heard a voice, coming from the console when suddenly the light flared from the console.
The light covered Wazzpinator, as said bot looked like he was in pain. When he stopped the glow vanished as Wazzpinator just stood there.
"Wazzpinator, are you ok?" Asked a White Fang as he and the others were a little freaked out.
"Ok?" Said Wazzpinator but his voice was different. "I'm better then ok!"
And with that Wazzpinator flew off, leaving behind very confused Faunus's.

Optimus, Rhinox and Qrow joined Rattrap in the command area as Rattrap has a projection of the Axalon and its shield grid up and running.
"The last hit breached the outer wall in vector seven." Explained Rattrap as there was a red area on the Axalon.
"And this was only the bad news?" Asked Rhinox as he was worried what the worst news was.
"Ah, the worst news is… it knocked out all the surveillance sensors along the northwest perimeter." Explained Rattrap as the protection of the shield showed tons of holes in it.
"We might as well put up a sigh that say 'Welcome Predacons and White Fang enter here'." Said Rattrap as Qrow grabbed his flask.
"Should have stayed home tonight." He said out loud to himself as he took a drink.
"Qrow, we need to talk about how you always think everything that goes wrong is your fault." Said Optimus he turned to the problem at hand.
"If any luck, hopefully the Preds and White are having problems of their own." Said Optimus hopefully.
"And if not?" Asked Rattrap curious.
"We'll call in everyone we can for defence and repairs." Said Optimus as they need to work fast.
"Tigatron and Winter aren't available right now. They're busy testing some new defences for Atlas." Said Rhinox as Optimus nodded.
"Boy Jimmy is getting paranoid." Said Qrow as he then added. "And what about everyone on medical leave?"
Hearing that Rhinox and Rattrap looked at Optimus curious.
"For now, leave them. They'll be good in a few days, and I don't want to risk their well being." Said Optimus as Rattrap gave him a look.
"Ok, but make sure you're using the comms when you tell Yang." Rattrap told Optimus as Yang temper, while much better can still get to her.

Megatron groaned as he and Scorponok finished welding the broke gas pipe. Luckily it wasn't flammable as they already had collectors gathering up the gas. Seeing the work was done Megatron turned to Scorponok.
"Where in the blazes is Wazzpinator?! He should have finished with that console ages ago!" Said Megatron annoyed.
"Megatron." Said a White Fang member over the comms.
"Yes?" Asked Megatron wondering what was wrong now.
"Something weird happened up here. There was this bright light from the console Wazzpinator was working on and then he flew off once the light died." Explained the White Fang member as Megatron wasn't sure what to make of it.
"Where is he now?" Asked Megatron curious as he wondered what was wrong with the ug now.
"Right here." Said Wazzpinator as he was before Megatron and Scorponok, but he held himself much differently. Almost like he wasn't him.
"What's wrong with you this time, Wazzpinator?" Asked Megatron as he wondered what was wrong with his voice.
"First allow me to clarify something for you. Wazzpinator isn't here right now." Said Wazzpinator confusing Megatron and Scorponok.
"What are you going on about?" Asked Scorponok as Wazzpinator laughed.
"I'm currently using this body while I'm here." Said Wazzpinator as Megatron glared at him.
"Then who or what are you?!" Demanded Megatron as he was ready to blast whoever this was. Only he could use his men however he wanted.
"Allow me to present myself. Air commander Starscream of the Decepticon battle fleet!" Declared Starscream as both Megatron and Scorponok looked at each other confused.
Later Megatron with all the Predacons along with Adam, Roman and to many people displeasure Cinder were in the main command area as they listened to Starscream's story. At first, they thought Wazzpinator hit his head again, but Starscream had knowledge. Knowledge that none of the other Predacons knew. And with what the bridge crew had to say added to his story. So they started to believe him.
"How is this possible?" Asked Blackarachnia. "Your ancient history?"
"Ancient, yes! History, NO!" Said Starscream as this confused a few people in the room.
"What's he talking about?" Asked Scorponok confused.
"The Decepticons were our ancestors. For centuries they warred with the Autobots." Explained Blackarachnia as Megatron took over.
"The ancient ancestors of the Maximals." He told Scorponok and the others.
"Learn something new everyday." Said Roman with a smirk.
"That war was lost alas." Said Starscream as he did wonder why this Megatron allied himself with organics.
"And you were destroyed! It's written in the chronicles of Cybertron!" Said Blackarachnia as this made no sense to her.
"So what is this then? Starscream's ghost?" Asked Roman as he was getting a bad feeling from him.
"Ah, so it was believed. I fell defending my leader Galvatron against the most powerful enemy of all. The giant transformer Unicron!" Declared Starscream as this spoked the transformers but confused their organic allies. But they didn't have the chance to ask what Unicron was as Starscream continued.
"My exo-frame was destroyed, but miraculously my spark endured. Drifting endlessly through the deeps of space. Beyond the reach of time itself." Finished Starscream as this confused a few people.
"Wait! How has your spark lasted this long?" Asked Adam as he eyed the possessed bot. "I know your kind have long life spans, but how can you still be alive?"
Hearing that the others wanted to know as well.
"I don't know to be honest." Said Starscream as even he didn't understand, but he was going to let it stop him.
"And now that you're here, air commander? What do you want?" Asked Megatron as Starscream might be the counter he needed to Ruby Rose's Matrix. But out of the corner of his optic he saw Roman slightly looking at him, giving him the 'we need to talk' look.
"Why to pledge allegiance to the glorious Megatron and to fight as your loyal lieutenant!" Answered Starscream as Megatron did like that.
"Well, you'll forgive the glorious Megatron for not melting into a puddle of gratitude. Tell me, why should I trust you?" Asked Megatron as he felt the same as Roman.
"Because I can show you how to crush the Maximals and their organic allies and win the Beast Wars once and for all!" Declared Starscream as Megatron liked that a lot.
"I see." Said Megatron as he was in thought before giving his orders.
"Adam, take Starscream and review what we know about the Maximals. Scorponok ready one of your cyber bees for recon. I want to know how badly hit the Maximals were hit by this storm. The rest of you repair the base and get ready for battle."
Everyone let the command area after hearing Megatron's order, expect Roman and Cinder.
"What do you think?" Asked Megatron as something about Starscream rubbed him the wrong way.
"He's hiding something." Said Roman as he lit a cigar. "He's trying to please you a bit too much and he's telling you what you ant to hear."
Megatron thought about it and agreed with Roman. Starscream was saying what he wanted to hear.
"Maybe he's trying to hide how he'd really died." Said Blackarachnia as she stepped out of the shadows.
"What do you mean?" Asked Megatron as he wished he spent a little more time learning about the old Megatron's troops rather than just about Megatron.
"He didn't die because of Unicron, he'd died by the hands of Galvatron." She told them as this made Megatron think.
"Roman, I'm placing you in charge of keeping an eye on Starscream. If he makes a move uses your best judgment and try to keep me in the loop." Ordered Megatron as this surprised Cinder.
"You know he's lying to you, but you're letting him run around?! Why are you doing that?" Asked Cinder as this caused Roman to smirk as that's what they're doing with her.
"Because Cinder he's an X factor that the Maximals won't see coming. Combined with his knowledge and skills we might be able to win the war." Said Megatron as he knew it was a risk.
"And if he tries something?" Asked Cinder.
"I have Roman there to watch him. He'll either stop him or warn me." Said Megatron as Cinder wondered something.
"Why trust Roman so much? He's a thief and a liar." Questioned Cinder as Roman looked annoyed.
"Yes he is. But above all else he's smart. He knows when not to bite off more then he can chew, and he has rarely failed me in the past." Answered Megatron as Cinder huffed off as she couldn't believe Megatron.
"Well, she still has a lot to learn about trust and loyalty." Said Roman of all people.
"Yes, she does." Agreed Megatron as he saw Blackarachnia was gone.
'When did she leave.' Wondered Megatron as he put it out of his mind for now.

The next day Speedclaw and Bladegator were outside the Axalon as they surveyed the damaged from the storm. All around them was broken trees and scorch marks where the lighting landed. But what they didn't know that one of Scorponok's cyber bees was in the area.
"So much damage." Said Bladegator as it was going to take hours to clean up this mess.
"Tell me about it." Agreed Speedclaw as he then saw something.
"Wait is that a cyber bee?!" Asked Speedclaw in panic as he transformed.
Bladegator looked and gasped as he transformed as well, the two then opened fire on the bee, but they both knew it was too late. The bee more then likely got more then enough intel on their current state.
Later in Sentinel's control room Ruby and Rhinox were working on repairs as they were the most qualified to do it. As they worked Speedclaw and Bladegator talked to Optimus and Skyshooter.
"This isn't good." Said Optimus as their defence systems weren't at full operations right now.
"No, it isn't." Agreed Skyshooter as he looked at Ruby and Rhinox.
"How long till Sentinel is back up and running?" He asked them hoping for a good answer.
"Longer than we most likely have." Said Ruby as her feeling from the other night was only getting worse now.
"Is there anything you can do to speed things up?" Asked Optimus as he wanted to know what options they had.
"Well, we could try focusing only on one system at a time rather then getting everything ready at the same time." Said Rhinox but focusing on one system at a time would mean the systems that worked together wouldn't be there.
"Then let's do that!" Said Speedclaw as that felt like the best plan.
"Maybe, but if we get the guns ready, they won't have the targeting system to go with them and we'll have to do it manually. And if we get the shield generators up, we will need to manually activate them." Explained Rhinox as there was no easy way to fix things.
"Oh." Was all Speedclaw could say as he didn't realize that.
"Do what you think is best." Said Optimus as they needed to get ready.
"Optimus." Said Ruby. "I think we need to get that program ready."
Optimus was surprised hearing that, as he wasn't expecting Ruby to say that. But given their current situation it might be for the best.
"Do it." Said Optimus as he turned to Skyshooter. "I want everyone on alert. There's no telling when the Predacons will attack."

Megatron grinned as he saw the damage done to the Maximals base from the storm. And the fact that the cyber bee was able to get in so close meant that their defence systems were down. Soon the picture froze on a large hole in the Axalon's hull.
"My spark saw the damage before entering this body. It the perfect opportunity to attack!" Said Starscream as the others looked at him like he was crazy.
"But that's what they'll be waiting for." Stated Megatron as he wondered what Starscream had in mind.
"Exactly!" Said Starscream grinning.
"You can't expect us to go head first into their fire?" Asked Adam as he wasn't going on a suicide mission.
Starscream shook his head hearing that. "Do you really think I would throw away perfectly good men? No! While the Maximals and their allies guard the southwest, we'll attack here at the northeast side." Explained Starscream as the angle changed on the screen.
Megatron nodded as he liked this plan. "Then we must act quickly while their defence systems aren't online. Adam, Roman gather your men for battle!" Ordered Megatron as Adam gave Megatron a confused look when he heard him 'Roman's men'. But one quick look from Megatron kept him quiet.

Vale, Patch, Axalon
On the roof of the Axalon over the open hull was nearly every Maximal (in beast mode), expect for Tigatron, Airazor and Rhinox along with Velvet and Coco as they stood watch. Inside the Axalon Rhinox and Ruby worked on getting the systems back up, but they didn't know how much time they had. Qrow had left earlier saying he needed to do some important work. When they asked what it was, all he said was they didn't have clearance confusing them.
Then out of nowhere a missile hit the northwest side of the Axalon. Feeling the shockwaves everyone on top of the Axalon was shocked. While Ruby and Rhinox saw a hole in the room causing this to bring out their guns.
"What?!" Cried out Optimus in shock and surprise.
"They're attacking the other side!" Cried out Rattrap as everyone looked down when they heard gun fire.
In the main computer room Starscream flew in as he carried Blackarachnia by a line. At the same time Ruby and Rhinox were exchanging fire with the White Fang.
"Hello boys and girls! We just happened to be in the neighborhood!" Said Starscream with a grin.
"So, we thought we'd drop in!" Finished Blackarachnia as she fired at the Maximals.
But the shot missed as everyone quickly pulled back as the shot missed them all. Optimus quickly jumped into action as he jumped down as he transformed. Dinobot, Cheetor, Coco and Velvet then followed Optimus's lead as they jumped down while the bots transformed.
"Taken unaware! I'm a fool!" Said Optimus as he berated himself.
"At long last Primal, we agree on something." Mocked Megatron as he fired at Optimus, who luckily dodged.
Velvet landed in front of some White Fang members as got Anesidora ready. But when some of the White Fang saw her, they backed away.
"It's the rabbit of doom! Run!" One of them yelled as he ran as others followed his lead.
Velvet stood there surprised as those who didn't run stared at their comrades.
"Wow Vel, what did you do?" Asked Coco surprised as that was last thing, she thought she see involving Velvet.
"I think I beat them up." Said Velvet as she wasn't sure as the two joined the battle.
Cheetor rolled on the ground as he took aim at Starscream. "Don't you know that gate crashing is just plain rude! Next time try knocking!" Said Cheetor as he opened fire.
But to his shock Starscream dodged every shot. Heck he moved so fast even Cheetor had a hard time following him.
"Since when did buzz boy learn that move?" Asked Cheetor confused as he still thought it was Wazzpinator.
Ruby looked over at Starscream and when she did, she didn't see Wazzpinator but a red, blue, and sliver bot. With its chest being red with a grey plane head in the middle. Blue feet and forearms while the legs and upper arms were sliver. The bot had a black square helmet with red eyes and a grey face. On its upper arms were cannons attached and on it back were wings with the decepticon logo on them.
"Starscream!?" Said Ruby confused as she couldn't believe it.
Hearing that Starscream looked down at Ruby, but gasped when she used her Ion blaster as a club on some White Fang that got to close to her. But as she did Starscream saw Optimus Prime doing it.
"Optimus Prime?" Said Starscream confused.
Meanwhile with Dinobot he heard what Ruby said and was shocked.
"Starscream? Impossible?" Said Dinobot as his confusion lasted long enough for Megatron to sneak up on him and shot him in the back.
"We must pay attention Dinobot. Otherwise dearly me, look what happens." Mocked Megatron only to be shot in the back himself.
"Good Advice." Said Ruby with a grin as her gun was smoking.
While the battle was going on Optimus saw the entire room was getting destroyed. If the main computer core was hit, then that would mean the end of the Axalon. Knowing this he made a tough call.
"We got to get out of here! Regroup and recover." Said Optimus shocking his men.
"What?! And leave the place to them?!" Questioned Rattrap for good reason this time.
"There's no choice Rattrap. On my signal!" Said Optimus as he hated himself for saying this.
"I'll get the dropship ready." Said Skyshooter as he flew to the ship as the other Maximals started to retreat.
"I need to do one thing first." Said Ruby as she looked at the main console. Seeing this Optimus knew what she meant as he looked at Coco and Velvet.
"Coco, Velvet Crosshairs!" Ordered Optimus as both girls nodded.
Velvet then made a hard light version of Gianduja while Coco brought out the real thing. The two then laid down covering fire causing the Preds and White Fang to jump for cover. All the while Ruby got to the main computer and got to work.
"Sentinel activate program Teletraan." Ordered Ruby as she then rushed over to Coco and Velvet.
The two stopped firing as Ruby used her semblance to turn them all into rose pedals and got them of the Axalon. Seeing this Optimus lifted up Dinobot and flew towards the hole in the roof. As he got close Terrorsaur flew in to block his path.
"Maximum burn!" Order Optimus as his jet went to full power as Optimus punched Terrorsaur right in the face as the two left the Axalon as they joined the others on the dropship.
At the same time Airazor finally returned to the base as she saw everyone leaving. Knowing that getting Tigatron would take too long she followed the ship as they flew towards Beacon.
A little while later all the Predacons alone with Adam and Roman where in the Axalon's bridge.
"VICTORY! The Maximal base is now mine!" Declared Megatron as they now had the Maximals base.
"What do we do now? If were here now our base is unprotected." Asked Tarantulas as he got hit in the back of the head by Adam.
"Idiot we have five squads of White Fang guarding the Darksyde, remember." Said Adam as the other Predacons laughed at Taratulas.
Roman then saw Starscream thinking about something. And judging by how deep in thought he looked it was important.
"What's eating you?" Asked Roman as he caused everyone to look at Starscream curious.
"That red haired human. Who is she?" Asked Starscream curious.
"Her name is Ruby Rose. We believe her to be the Maximals second in command." Answered Megatron curious to why Starscream was interested in her.
"She fought like Optimus Prime." Said Starscream as it was uncanny.
"We received intel from a questionable source that she has the Autobot Matrix of leadership." Said Megatron as this was a good way to see if that was real or not.
"The Matrix." Was all Starscream said as he thought about it.
While he never saw it, he heard about it. How it was a reservoir of knowledge, and it can help the current bearer in ways no one truly understood. But he never would have thought an organic of all things would get it.
Seeing Starscream in thought Megatron turned to his men.
"Now that we have two bases, we will divide our forces." Started Megatron only to be cut off by Starscream.
"I will take this base." He told Megatron as this intrigued Megatron.
"And why should I give you this base?" He asked Starscream.
"Because this will be the base the Maximals will try to take, due to it being theirs. And I need to figure out if this girl really has the Matrix or not." Answered Starscream as Megatron thought about it.
"Very well." Said Megatron as this could help him figuring out if Ruby really had the Matrix or not.
"Scorponok, Blackarachnia, Roman and his men will stay here and help you." Added Megatron when a White Fang member walked in.
"Report." Said Adam as he was part of the team to get the Maximals systems up and running.
"We have a problem." Said the Member worried.
"What sort of problem?" Asked Tarantulas curious.
"I'll show you." Said the member as he activated the console.
"Unknown signature detected." Said Sentinel as it's voice then changed. "Alert! Alert! Intruder detected!"
Hearing this confusedeveryone.
"Does their computer have a split personality?" Asked Roman confused.
"No, it a dual protection program." Answered Starscream as he explained it. "The Autobot's made this security system by having to different programs working at the same time. The only way to break it is by using two different codes at the same time."
"Can we break it?" Asked Megatron as he wanted what on the Maximals systems.
"Yes, but it will take time. Even Soundwave had troubles with theses programs." Starscream told him making Megatron growl.

Vale, Beacon
With the Maximals they retreated to Beacon as it was the closest to them. When they arrived Ozpin gave them an empty storage room to use as they explained what happened. The rest of teams RWBY and CFVY wished they were there, but everyone said even if they were the results would have been the same.
Currently Optimus (in beast mode) was bringing Ozpin and Ironwood up to speed in Ozpin office while Ironwood was in via video call with Winter and Tigatron with them.
"Wait." Said Ironwood as he was confused. "You're saying that someone from your great war, which was centuries ago for you, has possessed the body of Wazzpinator and helped Megatron take your base?"
Hearing that sounded unbelievable, even more so since Starscream should be dead.
"Trust me I feel the same way as you." Said Optimus as it hurt his processor as well.
"But what about your systems?" Asked Glynda fearing what the Predacons and White Fang could do with that information.
"Before we abandoned base Ruby activated a dual protection program." Said Optimus as this confused everyone.
"A what?" Asked Winter as she never heard of this before.
"In basic terms we have two different computer systems running at the same time. The two aren't meant to work together and they randomly shift between the two unless you use two codes in tandem." Answered Optimus as Ironwood made a mental note to look into that.
"And where is Miss Rose right now?" Asked Ozpin as she vanished after they got back.
"She's using the Matrix to talk to Optimus Prime right now. Learning every everything she can about Starscream." Said Optimus as there was something his ancestor didn't know about Starscream.
"What I'm trying to understand is why Starscream is even here?" Said Tigatron as he knew their sparks can die.
"His spark is immortal." Said Optimus as this shocked everyone.
"How do you know that?" Asked Glynda confused.
"Classified." Was all Optimus said as this confused everyone.
"What do you mean classified?! If it can help us, you need to tell us." Argued Ironwood as he looked very angry.
"It won't and where do you get off telling me that when you do the same!" Countered Optimus as the two glared at each other.
"Gentlemen glaring at each other won't help anything." Said Ozpin calmly as Optimus stepped down while Ironwood took a little longer.
"When Miss Rose has her info are our forces ready?" Asked Ozpin trying to get them back on track.
"Yes, but Dinobot was hit hard. It's going to take his internal repairs sometime." Said Optimus as they could really use a CR chamber right now.
"And without access to a ground bridge it will take time for me to rejoin you all." Said Tigatron soberly as flying would take him hours.
"Optimus I have a plan." Said Ruby over the comm as he turned to Optimus who nodded.
"I'll keep you all in the loop." Said Optimus as he rejoined the others.
Ozpin nodded to Ironwood as he ended the call as he and Glynda joined up with the others.
Everyone was in the storage room as Ruby face them all.
"Ok, I learnt from Optimus Prime that Starscream has a sliver tongue, has good air battle tactics, high ambitions and above all else is a coward." Said Ruby as that last part confused the others.
"How does him being a coward help us?" Asked Rattrap confused as the others agreed with him.
"Because where do cowards run to?" Asked Ruby with a grin.
"To where they feel safe?" Answered Blake confused still.
"I see where you are going with this Miss Rose." Said Ozpin in approval of her idea.
"Good because both you and Glynda aren't joining us." Said Ruby surprising both teachers and some of the Maximals.
"But why? We need all the help we can get." Said Cheetor as they could use it.
"I know, but if the Predacons or the White Fang can link us to any of the schools, they'll become targets. I'm not willing to risk the students lives like that." Said Ruby as everyone agreed with her.
"Sure but its fine to put us into the line of fire." Said Rattrap as they knew he didn't mean it, this time.
"That is a very mature and wise decision Miss… no Ruby. We will abide by it." Said Ozpin as his respect for Ruby's leadership went up greatly.
Ruby grinned at that. "I have a plan. But I need you all to know that it's not a solid plan as I can only guess Starscream's moves so much." She told everyone as they listened on.
"Let's hear it." Said Optimus as they had no other options at the moment.
Ruby nodded as she explained her plan.

Vale, Patch, Axalon
At the Axalon the Predacon and White Fang forces were on high alert. They just received a message from the Maximals stating they wished to talk.
Starscream along with Blackarachnia, Scorponok, Roman and several White Fang members were on the roof of the Axalon as the Maximals, with the bots in beast mode, approached them. The Preds and White Fang could see Yatsuhashi and Yang carrying a stretcher with Dinobot laying on it.
"I hope you know what you're doing." Said Optimus quietly to Ruby.
"I hope so too." Agreed Ruby as she saw the Preds and White Fang on the roof.
"Starscream we've come to surrender." Said Ruby solemnly as Optimus transformed as everyone lowered their heads in shame.
Starscream looked at the two as he didn't quite buy it. He looked at the other Maximals and saw various looks of sadness, loathing and anger. But Starscream looked down at Ruby with a critical eye.
"You there! Ruby Rose!" Said Starscream making Ruby confused. "I've been told you carry the Matrix of Leadership. Is this true?"
Ruby sighed as she held her necklace and focused her aura through it and transformed it into the Matrix. Starscream and the others were shocked to see the brilliant light coming from it.
Starscream grinned at the sight of the Matrix. He heard the stories, but this was the first time he saw it. Grinning he jumped down from the roof in front of Ruby.
"How I wished to get even with Optimus Prime, but at last you can't get everything you want." Said Starscream but he had a look in his eye. A look Ruby was hoping to see.
"But having a Prime surrender to me is just as good." Continued Starscream with a grin that then faded.
"But why are you surrendering?" Asked Starscream curious as he didn't buy it.
"We have no choice." Said Optimus getting Starscream to focus on him.
"Dinobot has taken heavy damage. To much for his internal repairs to handle." Explained Optimus as Starscream looked at Dinobot who barely moved.
"And you need access to a CR chamber." Concluded Starscream as he added. "Both your sides are too dependent on those things. Back in the great war all we need was a good medic."
"But if I do give you access to the chamber, what's in it for me?" Asked Starscream as Scorponok eyed him for that comment.
"We'll do whatever you want." Said Ruby as she gave Starscream a look like Optimus Prime would when he would say things like that.
"I accept. Bring him forward!" Said Starscream as his pride was getting the better of him.
Yang and Yatsuhashi started to walk forward when Starscream stopped them.
"No! Your leaders will bring him." Ordered Starscream as Optimus and Ruby nodded to Yang and Yatsuhashi and took over.
They soon had Dinobot laying down in the CR chamber as the chamber closed and started to work.
That's when they heard guns clicking behind them as they turned around and saw seven White Fang members pointing their guns at them. Seeing this Optimus and Ruby raised their arms in surrender.
"A good call." Said Starscream as he added. "Strip them of their weapons and lock them in a cell and bind them!"
A few minutes later Starscream was back on the roof looking down at the Maximals.
"Attention fools! Your three comrades are now my prisoners! They will be killed if you don't carry out my commands!" Declared Starscream.
"We had a deal!" Cried out Yang as her eyes flashed red in anger.
"And now we have another one. If you wish to save the lives of your comrades, you will attack the Predacon base" Said Starscream shocking the Maximals.
That's when Starscream heard Scorponok's missile launcher. Looking to his side he saw the scorpion taking aim at him.
"I knew we couldn't trust you." Said Scorponok as he was about to fire when he felt something around his neck. Scorponok was then pulled back as he then saw it was Roman with his cane.
"Sorry can't have you doing that now." Said Roman calmly.
"What are you doing?!" Demanded Scorponok as he then saw the White Fang not doing anything.
"You see me and the boys here." Started Roman as Blackarachnia faked coughed. "And girl all agree, we're siding with Starscream. So, your either with us or not."
"Your crazy if you think I'll betray Megatron." Said Scorponok defiantly.
"Then goodbye." Said Roman as he pulled Scorponok closer to him.
"Go, warn Megatron." Roman quietly told Scorponok shocking him. Roman then quickly pushed him away as a couple white Fang opened fired on him. Scorponok then fell down the waterfall.
The Maximals watched this wondering what just happened as Rattrap stood up.
"You! Your nothing but a scheming snake in the grass." Said Rattrap as Starscream didn't look troubled at all.
"Flattery will get you flatten vermin." Warned Starscream as he pointed his gun at him.
"Fine we'll do it." Said Skyshooter but quickly added. "But we need access to the Ground Bridge."
Starscream thought about it before speaking. "Very well, you may use it."
The Maximals then headed for the bridged as they had various looks on their faces.
"We shouldn't leave them there." Said Yang frustrated.
"We need to trust them. Ruby been right about what Starscream would do so far." Said Weiss as Yang was about to say something to her but stopped when she saw the frustrated and worried look on her face.
In the Axalon both Ruby and Optimus were bound to a wall by clamps as their arms were held up. But they didn't look all that worried.
"I got to admit Ruby you knew his moves so well." Said Optimus as Starscream did nearly everything Ruby though he would.
"I can't take all the credit, Optimus Prime knew Starscream that well." Said Ruby with a grin.
"So, time to make our move?" Asked Optimus with a smirk.
"Yup." Said Ruby with a pop to the P.
Optimus was about the flex, so he could break his bindings but before he could they simply opened.
"Huh?" Was all Optimus could say as he was confused, then the door to the cell opened.
"Did you do this?" Optimus asked Ruby confused.
"I did." Said Blackarachnia as she walked into view.
"Blackarachnia?" Said Optimus trying to understand what was happening.
"Optimus remember my inside person?" Asked Ruby as she then gestured to Blackarachnia. Optimus couldn't say anything as he wasn't expecting this.
"Thank you Blackarachnia." Said Ruby with a smile. "But why are you doing this? You might be found out this way?"
"No one in the Predacon ranks trust Starscream. We're just using him. And if you two escape and follow through with whatever you got planned, well I won't lose any time on my recharge." Explained Blackarachnia as she walked out of room with Ruby following her. Optimus stood there before following them.
"Blackarachnia, are you changing sides?" Asked Optimus curious.
"No." Said Ruby as Optimus looked at her. "She's staying where she is right now, because it gives her the best options right now."
Optimus looked at the two as he didn't understand but choose to stay quiet. That's when Ruby stopped.
"That right I almost forgot." Ruby said to herself as she reached into her boot and pulled out a flash drive.
"This is a list of energon deposits we found in Mistal. Just without much data on them." Said Ruby as she gave it Blackarachnia shocking Optimus.
"Ruby what are you doing?" He asked her, thinking she lost it.
"We made a deal to help to help each other Optimus, I'm just giving her a reason to disappear." Said Ruby as Optimus sighed as that sounded like Ruby.
"Thanks. And here." Said Blackarachnia as she opened a door as Ruby's gear was in the room.
"Thank you." Said Ruby happily as she rushed to get her weapons back.
Blackarachnia turned to Optimus. "You're on you own." She told him.
"I'll be fine." Said Optimus as he opened the floor to reveal the ammo, they put away from the storm.
One the two were rearmed they looked to Blackarachnia.
"You may want to leave now before things get messy." Warned Ruby.
"Thanks." Was all Blackarachnia said as she then transformed as walked away.
Ruby then felt Optimus staring at her as she turned around to face him.
"I know, but this isn't the time nor the place." She told him as Optimus agreed.
The two then headed to the Sentinel's control room as they were going to take back their base.

Vacou, Darksyde
Meanwhile back with the other Maximals they saw the Darksyde's scout towers, as they hide behind a hill.
"Remember we're not here to win, just to keep the pressure off the others." Instructed Skyshooter as the others nodded.
And with that the robot members of the Maximals transformed as they began their attack.
The guard tower returned fire but was quickly losing ground. Then two drop ships appeared and gave them air cover while dropping troops to the ground. Seeing the ships both Skyshooter and Airazor took to the sky to deal with the ships giving the others a chance.
While the battle went on Adam and Megatron watched from the Darksyde as they got Scorponok's warning about the attack. As Megatron watched he knew his forces would keep the Maximals at bay, but his real concern was Starscream. He knew he could trust Roman, but part of him knew that Roman was only with him because he knew he had a future with him. But if Starscream proved to be a better chance then he'll take it.

Vale, Patch, Axalon
At the Axalon Starscream watched the Maximals attacking with Roman. It was about the only thing they got to work there.
"So why did you side with me?" Asked Starscream eyeing the conman.
"I go where I feel the best odds for me are. And I feel that's with you." Answered Roman as he grinned at him.
"I see." Said Starscream as looked at the White Fang. "And what about them?"
"They see the world as me. I can vouch for each and everyone of them." Said Roman as Starscream patted his shoulder.
"I though you looked smarter then that other organic with Megatron. And this proves it." Said Starscream as he praised Roman.
"Really you all look pretty stupid to me." Said Ruby as she and Optimus stood in the hallway as she aimed her Ion Blaster and Optimus had his shotguns out.
"You two?! How'd you get free?!" Demanded Starscream as he and the others got their guns out.
"That was a stupid move little red." Said Roman as he smirked at her.
"Maybe, but we have this." Said Ruby with a grin.
"Sentinel, activate screech defence systems." Ordered Optimus.
"Affirmative." Said Sentinel as all the White Fang in the base covered their ears in pain.
"If you wish to save your hearing, I suggest you leave the Axalon." Suggested Optimus as the White Fang took his advice and ran.
"And then there were two." Said Ruby as she aimed her gun at Roman.
"Wrong again Red." Said Roman as a White Fang member attacked Ruby. Ruby dodged her attacker as her attacker revealed herself to be Neo in disguise.
"Always keep an ace up your sleeve." Said Roman with a smirk as Neo smirked as well.
"Then let's make this an even fight." Said Optimus as he shot at the CR chamber opening it as Dinobot charged out and transformed.
"I think we should run." Said Roman as he saw the odds were even. And he preferred when they were in his favor. And that wasn't even adding in the fact the base's computer was on their side.
"Agreed." Said Starscream as he shot out of the skylight.
As Starscream left Neo used her semblance to make her and Roman vanish. Seeing that they had their base back they relaxed slightly.
"Optimus, you and Dinobot secure the Axalon." Ordered Ruby as she started to head to the hanger.
"What about you?" Asked Optimus curious.
"I've got an old score to settle." Was all Ruby said as she rushed off, leaving Optimus and Dinobot behind.

Vacou, Darksyde
At the Darksyde the battle wasn't going good for the Maximals. They were getting tired and running low on aura and ammo. While the White Fang still had plenty of both.
"This is suicide!" Said Rhinox as he fired his machine guns.
"Agreed. Fall back!" Ordered Skyshooter as they started to move back.
"NO!" Cried out Starscream as he flew over to them. "Attack! That's an order!"
Seeing Starscream suddenly showing up and telling the Maximals to attack caused the White Fang to stop firing.
Then everyone heard the roar of a motorcycle as Ruby came riding in on Bumblebee as she stopped near her friends.
"Ruby why are you riding my bike?" Asked Yang shocked by Ruby's appearance as she got off the bike.
"It's over Starscream!" Said Ruby as she ignored her sister as she looked at Starscream.
"That may be true. But at least I get the opportunity to kill a Prime!" Yelled Starscream as he fired at Ruby.
Ruby used her semblance to get out of the way and returned fire with Crescent Rose hitting Starscream in the back.
"I got to say Starscream, your aim still the same." Mocked Ruby making Starscream furious. The two started to trade fire with each other while no one did anything.
In the Darksyde Megatron watched as his anger at Starscream was so high, if he was organic his face would be beet red.
"Shall we kill them all?" Asked Adam as they had the perfect chance right now.
"No. let them take care of Starscream for us." Said Megatron as he didn't want to waste resources when the Maximals would take care of him for him.
"But have our force ready for when the fight is over." Added Megatron as Adam agreed with him.
Back in the fight Ruby used her semblance to kick Starscream into a wooden box causing it to break. As Starscream got his bearing Ruby grinned as she saw some energon there.
"It's over Starscream." Said Ruby as she took aim at the energon with Crescent Rose.
"No! I won't lose to some wannabe Prime." Yelled Starscream as he slowly got up.
"I'm no wannabe, I'm Ruby Rose Prime!" Said Ruby proudly as she fired at the energon.
There was a huge explosion as everyone had to cover their eyes. When it died down the White Fang could see the Maximals retreating and were soon out of range. At the same time they saw Wazzpinator's body in pieces.
Hours later they were able to find and rebuild Starscream's body, only when they reacted the head, he wasn't Starscream.
"Oh, Wazzpinator has a headache in his whole body." Groaned Wazzpinator.
"Where's Starscream?!" Demanded Megatron as he was going to take care of him personally.
"He must have bailed when Wazzpinator's body was blown up. Knew he would be in trouble if he stayed." Guessed Roman as that was what he would have done in his place.
Megatron growled as he wished he could end that spark himself. He then took a calming breath.
"At least we got the data Blackarachnia was able to get from the Maximal systems." Said Megatron as some of it wasn't on their maps.
"As for you Roman. I must say I had my doubt with you, but you've proven to be more useful than I've would have imagined. And for that I'm promoting you. Now you only answer to myself and Adam." Said Megatron shocking both Adam and Roman.
"Thank you." Was all Roman could say as he looked at Adam.
"I'm surprised your ok with this." Said Roman as he thought Adam would say something.
"I won't lie I don't like humans, but you've taught me a few new tricks. So I guess your ok." Said Adam as Roman just smirked at this.
Megatron looked at the two and when the Beast Wars started, he would have never thought he would trust two organics this much. But if this ordeal has taught him anything it was that history can come back and bite you in the rear if you're not careful.

Vale, Beacon
Later that Night Optimus and Skyshooter (in robot mode) were meeting with Ozpin and Ironwood as Ironwood was on a video call.
"So you got your base back and didn't lose any intel." Said Ironwood as he summarized their report.
"We can't be a 100% on the data, but yes." Said Optimus keeping quite about what he learnt about Blackarachnia.
"And Starscream?" Asked Ozpin wondering about him.
"From what we can gather he's gone. Probably ran back into space or wherever he came from." Answered Skyshooter as he was glad.
Optimus then looked at Skyshooter who nodded as they had a talk earlier.
"I need to tell you two why I knew about Starscream's spark." Said Optimus as this got both headmasters attention.
"What I'm about to tell you must stay between us. This is top secret information and must be kept quiet. If word got out, who know what could happen." Stated Optimus with a serious tone and look.
"Go ahead." Said Ozpin as he spoke for the two of them.
"The Maximal elders tried to recreate Starscream's spark. What we got was a monster." Said Optimus soberly.
"If you thought the Grimm were bad, this monster killed everyone on a colony and a space station and two task forces sent to capture him." Added Skyshooter as he lost a few friends to that operation.
"How do you know this then?" Asked Ironwood as he thinks he knew why.
Optimus took a deep breathe before answering. "The Axalon had a secret mission as only me, Rhinox, and Skyshooter knew about it. The mission was to dispose of the creature on some desolate world and hope no one finds it or toss it into a blackhole. But when the Axalon released the Stasis pods it slipped out with them."
Hearing that shocked the two headmasters. Hovering around their world was a monster that made the Grimm look pleasant. That alone actually scared them.
"What is this monster called?" Asked Ozpin hoping they'd never meet it.
"Protoform X." Said Optimus grimly.
And Starscream has come and gone. I had some people ask me to keep him in the story, but I can't think of a way to. And even if he did, I doubt this Megatron would be as 'merciful' as the G1 Megatron.
And now the Predacons and White now know 100% that Ruby has the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. And now Optimus knows who Ruby's inside person is. Both of these things will play a part in my next chapter.
And Optimus has told Ozpin and Ironwood about Protoform X aka Rampage. I still remember when I first saw him in the show, boy did he freak me out. Though I won't lie I feel that they downplayed him as the series went on. What do you all think?
