Donald Duck woke up to find himself out of the barrel he had been hiding in for days. He was very glad to be out of it and liked where he was. He found himself on some sort of tropical beach. It was very beautiful with white sandy beaches, striking tall palm trees with coconuts, many beautiful tropical bushes and flowers.
Donald felt like he was in paradise and he felt that all his cares and sorrows in the world had gone away for good. As he started to explore the beach, he realized that he hadn't been this happy in a very long time. In fact, he couldn't even remember being this happy at all. Then he became so happy that he decided to run on the beach and then dance on it and sing gibberish.
Then something made Donald stop moving and fall down. He turned around to see it was a plant vine wrapped around his right foot. Not only did it stop him moving, but it started to continue to wrap around his right leg and it still didn't stop there.
"Hey! What's the big idea?" Donald snapped, as he tried to pull the vine off his leg. "Get off me!" Then he looked for something to help him pull the vine off, as his bare hands failed. He managed to find a rock and grab it, but that didn't help him get free from the vine. And the vine reached his tummy.
As if this wasn't bad enough, Donald became shocked when he saw the beautiful tropical island he was on turned into a big rocky area and the blue sky turned red.
"What's going on around he –" Then his beak got wrapped up in more plant vines too. Then his whole body got wrapped in them. All he could do was close his eyes and did his very hardest to break free, but he kept struggling to achieve that.
"Donald, wake up."
"It's your amigos."
Then Donald woke and gasped loudly. Then his beak got grabbed and was pushed down again and was shushed. He saw this time that it wasn't plant vines, but it was his friends Jose Carioca and Panchito Pistoles. Jose let go of Donald's beak.
"What's going on, boys?" the duck asked.
"We're on some sort of paradise island," Jose said. "Bonnie, Daniel and the entire Sea Monster Pirate Navy docked here. We escaped from our barrels and tried to hide from them while finding out what they're up to and your nightmare nearly blew our cover."
"I'm very sorry, guys," Donald said. "Now, that I'm awake, I'm over that nightmare now, I promise."
His friends let go of him and he got up. He saw that the island they were on was still a paradise one like the one in in his nightmare. As he followed his friends, he just hoped that his nightmare wouldn't come true anymore and that the paradise island wouldn't get turned into something horrible. "So where are we going?" he asked.
"We're trying to follow our friends so we can eavesdrop on them and find out more of their plan," Panchito said.
Then they stopped when they heard a strange sound. Then they saw it was coming from Donald's tummy. He chuckled nervously.
"Well, it has been days since I've eaten," he said.
"Well, we haven't eaten in days either, Donald," Panchito said, "but our tummies ain't –" Then his tummy and Jose's tummy went rumbling too.
Donald smiled smugly. "You were saying?"
"Okay, Donald, you win," Jose said, annoyed. "Don't push it any further."
"Look, this isn't helping us at all," Panchito said. "Let's just find some food and some water because I don't know about you, but I'm thirsty as well as hungry. So let's look for food and water while we make our way to this meeting."
The two other caballeros agreed and followed him.
The Three Caballeros had been exploring more of the island for food and water while trying to avoid being seen by the Sea Monster Pirates for nearly an hour and they found nothing except sand, rocks, flowers, trees and bushes but with no fruits on them. All they succeed in finding was a tiny pool of freshwater. It was so tiny that it looked less like a pond and more of a puddle. But at least they could have a nice, cool drink and they felt better for being hydrated.
"Guys, shush," Jose whispered. "Listen."
The other two caballeros stopped drinking and tried to hear what Jose was. It sounded like someone was running and towards them.
"We need to hide somewhere," Panchito said.
"How about that boulder over there?" Donald asked, pointing to it.
Jose and Panchito saw the big boulder on the other side of the pool and they all ran to hide behind it. It was big enough to hide all three of them.
"Good choice, Donald," Jose said.
"Thanks, Joe," Donald said.
Then the Three Caballeros peeked around the boulder and saw what was running towards them were two sea monster pirates. There was a very tall one and there was a very small one.
"Come on, mate!" the tall pirate yelled at the small one. "We'll be late for the meeting! Why I let you stop to pick flowers, I'll never know!"
"Well, they looked very beautiful and they smelled lovely," the small pirate said. "Besides, what if we're only a few seconds late? We can catch up."
The tall pirate just picked him up.
"Hey! What's the big deal?" the small pirate asked.
"The big deal is that this meeting is hosted by Lady Bonnie herself and if we are one second late for a meeting of hers – just one second – we'll be tonight's main course! Now, shut up and let me do the walking. And if we do get there in time, you owe me big time."
Donald and Jose were about to run out of the boulder and follow those sea monster pirates, but Panchito stopped them.
"No," he told them. "Let them run for a few seconds and then we'll run after them."
And that was exactly what they did.
