While The Blades and Duban brought Serana and Rini to the exit of the tournament area it was Don and Drake who stood against the mighty Errol. After taking out two of Errol's team members the big boss himself took on Drake and Don, marking the end of The Daggers.
After Jack and the rest returned to the tournament area they were approached by the Egyptian team, their leader Na'eemah promptly challenged Kailyn to a Duel.
31. Destiny's Duelists.
Jack was confused when the signal came that Na'eemah and Kailyn needed to get to the arena, the rest of the Egyptian team followed their leader to the arena, of course they were not allowed inside but they seemed to be set on waiting outside. Jack took this as a sign that they didn't want to Duel.
'Guys stay here. We do not engage them now.' Jack warned his team.
'So what is this about? What is Na'eemah anyway?' Juliet asked.
'A Mer clearly, but like the Dwemer I do not recognize what race of Mer she is. Kailyn seemed to know.' Jack replied.
'That still leaves what their deal is.' Leo commented.
'It seems.' Jack started as he watched the television screens where the Duel just started: 'Na'eemah and the Dwemer are connected. We know Duban and his kin originally came from Egypt. Egypt has no noteworthy Duelists. Na'eemah joined under the official Egyptian team which means Duban allowed them in.' Jack spoke.
'Could be a coincidence.' Violet suggested.
'I doubt it.' Jack replied: 'Duban set this up as a display of power, he wants to crush The Blades and lure Tamamo in. His main goal stays crushing us. He wants the world to see, he even invited some noteworthy countries to fill the tournament's contestants. He takes the tournament seriously. If those Egyptian Duelists had no connection Duban would not have invited them. And if they are not connected then at least Duban knows them.'
'Solid theory.' Juliet replied: 'We know how Duban thinks, then the question is why do they target us now?'
Suddenly one of the Egyptian Duelists came over to them it was Xenia. 'Speculating?' She asked: 'Na'eemah's goals are to take out the Dwemer. She told me I could spill the secret once the Duel started.' The other Blades turned their attention to the Mer. 'We're Aldmer, the Old Elves. We had thought you'd figured that out by now Jack.'
Jack was surprised they so easily revealed their secret.
'Sorry, ever since Tamamo entered I've lost my connection to Akatosh, I'm new to this whole Embodiment thing so I don't really know how to speak with him. Most times he feels I need him and he speaks to me.'
Juliet gave Jack a stomp with her elbow: 'Could have told us.' She whispered.
'Sorry, it's just that I never relied on others besides my team, having access to Akatosh or not doesn't matter to me, so I thought it wasn't a big deal.' Jack replied.
'Anyway.' Xenia continued: 'Much of our Aldmer history is lost just like the Dwemer. Our Aldmer bloodline returned just like the Dwemer did and like the Dwemer there are only five of us. Na'eemah wanted to stop the Dwemer before they started a war.' She paused for a moment to let it sink in with Jack and the others.
'Now we were on the trail of Sabrina, who then disappeared from our radar thanks to your efforts Jack, then a bunch of Half-Dwemer appeared, unavoidable but we were happy with this outcome. Then we tracked a Dwemer Construct and that is how we learned about Tamamo. We sadly do not know for what reason she has a Dwemer Construct of that magnitude we only know Duban held his end of the bargain and delivered it.' Again she waited a moment, simply because Ancient Fairy Dragon had just appeared on the television screen.
'Anyway.' Xenia quickly continued: 'We then learned of Ravin and that he broke ties with the Dwemer so Na'eemah decided to let him go especially since he is in good hands with you guys. This ultimately left three Dwemer so Na'eemah entered the tournament, of course Duban recognized who we are and that we challenge him, he accepted the challenge by allowing us entree, so in that regard your theory was spot on.'
Without so much as a goodbye Xenia returned back to her team. Jack pulled the other Blades out of their earshot.
At that moment a divine light illuminated the area, a gigantic, golden orb descended from the heavens. 'That's...' Juliet stammered, the television screen went static.
On top of the skyscraper Na'eemah who was bathed in divine light spread her arms, she started to chant something in ancient Egyptian.'
On the ground the Duelists suddenly witnessed the orb unfolding itself into a giant, divine, bird-like dragon clad in golden plates of armor, divine light radiating from its wings.
'The Winged Dragon of Ra.' Jack growled through his teeth: 'She challenged Kailyn only to show her power, she probably hopes we would back off.' Jack was exited Juliet could tell, of course the blood of any Duelist would start pumping if they saw an Egyptian God card, let alone one being summoned.
'I'd say we let her have Duban. Not even he could stand up to Ra.' Violet said her voice trembling.
'No.' Jack resolutely stated: 'Duban wants to finish things with me. I can still get through to him. Besides he has a whole contraption that he build that would drain Tamamo's magic, I need that. Remember my powers as a Dragonborn do not come from magic. He activates that contraption and I will be super-powered against Tamamo, so no I cannot let Na'eemah take out Duban.'
Juliet placed her arm around Jack's neck: 'She knew he had made up his mind: 'Jack it's Ra we're talking about. I know you are crazy strong but you have to draw the line somewhere.' She tried to talk her friend out of it.
'My dear Juliet.' Jack replied as he calmly removed her arm from around his neck: 'I came prepared.' He casually said as he tapped his Deck holder.
'You what?' Leo asked surprised.
'I expected Ra, so I came prepared.' Jack calmly repeated himself.
'You expected Ra?' Leo repeated Jack: 'In what world would you expect Ra!' He then yelled.
'Well Errol is here, he messed with Obelisk in the past when his soul was stuck inside that huge Orichalcos stone Lucien brought to his tournament and Errol has been experimenting with forbidden cards in the past, so yes I would have expected him to show up with Ra. Only now it is Na'eemah and not Errol, but that changes nothing.'
He then smiled: 'Besides no self-respecting Duelist would say no to a Duel against an Egyptian God.'
(Kailyn: 8000) - (Na'eemah: 6200)
Kailyn watched in horror as the holy dragon unfolded itself.
'How?' Kailyn gasped.
'Don't worry.' Na'eemah's voice was calm and kind: 'This isn't the real Ra. Ra's actual card has been lost for a while now. The spirits inside the card still exist in this world albeit weaker. As an Aldmer I have the power to commune with gods, any god I must add. Since I am Egyptian I figured I'd commune with Ra, of course since my goal is noble the divine Ra allowed me to use its image. I had to throw a lot of money at a card manufacturer, Ra's data is not readily available. The information of the Egyptian Gods are stored on the old Industrial Illusions database in a closed off section. Only the World Duelist Organization has access to that database so I payed them so they would allow the manufacturer to make that card, since Ra is such a dangerous and powerful card I got their permission to use it during this tournament, the moment I'm out a few of the Organization are waiting outside to take Ra's card from me and destroy it.'
Kailyn was shocked that Na'eemah went through such lengths. 'That's insane.' Was the only thing Kailyn could say.
'Like I said defeating The New Government is a noble cause. Jack should focus on Tamamo and hopefully seeing Ra now scares him off.' Na'eemah looked up at the massive Egyptian God. (5500 ATK)
'First I shall activate Ra's One Turn Kill.' Na'eemah spoke. A red wire made of light appeared between her and Ra, Na'eemah crossed her arms her life points rapidly decreased a holographic image of the Aldmer appeared on top of Ra's head. (5500- 11.669 ATK)
(Kailyn: 8000) - (Na'eemah: 6200- 1)
Kailyn looked at her face-down card, the only defense she had.
'God Blaze Cannon!' Na'eemah then roared, the Egyptian God started to charge its attack.
'I activate Drowning Mirror Force!' Kailyn shouted: 'All your attack position monsters are send back into your Deck!' A blue barrier appeared between Ra and Kailyn.
'Ra is unaffected by card effects.' Na'eemah calmly said, a beam of divine light pierced the barrier, before Kailyn knew what happened she was knocked off her feet by the sheer force of the divine beast.
(Kailyn: 8000- 0) - (Na'eemah: 1)
Na'eemah was the first to leave the building, Kailyn followed closely behind her, the Bosmer said nothing as she passed Jack.
'Na'eemah that was unnecessary.' Jack sounded angry.
'Now you know what you're up against, I'm giving you a chance to walk away now.' The Aldmer calmly replied.
'No chance Na'eemah. I need Duban's help if I want to stop Tamamo, at this point he is unreasonable. If I can Duel him I can make him see reason, I can get him on my side, if you defeat him my chances of beating Tamamo are gone.'
For a second Na'eemah's serene smile changed into a look of disappointment, quickly her smile returned.
'I accept your challenge Jack.' The Aldmer spoke: 'But I have a condition.' She added. 'We excel when we Duel alone. So my team shall not intrude. We also like to fight in an honorable way, my proposal is to use the rules of the finals. When two teams remain and there are multiple Duelists left they will go on in a series of single Duels. Winners stays in the arena this goes on until one team has no Duelists left.'
Jack looked at his team, they were already one Duelist down which gave Jack a disadvantage. 'Jack, don't.' Leo warned him: 'It's four against five, Na'eemah knows what she's doing, giving our a warning by taking Kailyn out and creating an advantage for herself in the process.'
Jack nodded: 'I know Leo, but we don't have that much choice at this point.' He looked at Na'eemah: 'I accept those terms.' Jack said.
Na'eemah took place behind her four teammates. 'Xenia.' Na'eemah said.
The Aldmer with long, blonde hair stepped to the front, she removed her fake, fur dress revealing she wore a plain, beige, cotton dress under it, the dress was adorned with many gold chains, on her arm she wore her Duel Disk a custom white model with the blade shaped like a curved sword, the disk was scratched and it looked old, no automatic shuffler either. Her D-Gazer was also white shaped like the eye of a cat.
'You sure you want to take that dress off?' Jack asked, Xenia smiled: 'The cold doesn't affect us, we didn't want to stand out by wearing clothes fit for the summer, however when Dueling I'd like move comfortably.' The Aldmer replied: 'So who's my opponent?' She added.
'Violet.' Jack stated, the Signer nodded as she stepped to the front, while Violet took her position she quickly swapped four card from her main Deck with cards in her Side Deck.
'Duel!' Both Duelists shouted, when Violet placed her Deck in her Duel Disk.
(Violet: 8000) - (Xenia: 8000)
'I summon World Carrotweight Champion.' Violet stated after she drew her opening hand, the human-like creature made of carrot appeared doing a series of punches to warm itself up. (1900 ATK)
'Next I activate Backup Squad.' Violet stated as a continuous spell card appeared on her side of the field. 'Whenever I take thousand points of damage I get to draw a card.' Violet explained this was one of the cards she swapped out with her Side Deck, she was lucky to draw it with her opening hand. 'I end my turn.' The Signer stated.
Xenia drew her card: 'Violet, I hope you will enjoy this Duel despite everything.' Xenia said politely.
'Thank you Xenia I do not consider us enemies.' Violet replied.
Xenia smiled. 'Then I hope you enjoy my ace monster as well, it took me quite a bit of effort to get my hands on it.' Xenia said enthusiastically.
'I summon Dark Jeroid.' The Aldmer stated, a puddle of blue goo appeared, slowly it formed a hideous creature standing on two legs and four arms, its head was where its crotch was and on top of that it had another body with two arms. (1200 ATK)
'Dark Jeroid is summoned and that means one monster you control loses eight-hundred attack points.' Dark Jeroid barfed up blue goo that covered World Carrotweight Champion it became weaker. (1900- 1100 ATK)
'Next I activate Double Summon.' Xenia stated her spell card appeared on the field for a second. 'Now I normal summon Gil Garth!' A creature appeared clad in heave, metal armor covered in spikes, it had a small, round head, in its left hand it held a curved sword. (1800 ATK)
'Time to battle.' Xenia said and that means I special summon Juragedo!' A demonic creature leaped onto the field, it had a blue skin with red veins all over instead of legs it had a short tail ending in a round part with a needle in it and two long arms ending in sharp claws.
'Juragedo grands me thousand life points.' Xenia explained as a warm light enveloped her.
(Violet: 8000) - (Xenia: 8000- 9000)
'Jeroid!' Xenia commanded the hideous, purple creature leaped forward swiping its claws around until it hit its target.
'Juragedo!' Xenia continued the legless creature moved incredibly fast swiping its claws at Violet.
Violet drew a card due to Backup Squad.
'Gil Garth!' The Aldmer commanded. Her final monster heaved its sword.
'I tribute Juragedo to increase the attack points of Gil Garth until the end of my turn.' The legless creature disappeared sparks appeared around Gil Garth. (1800- 2800 ATK)
Before Violet knew what happened the sword struck her down, Violet drew another two cards.
(Violet: 8000- 7900- 6200- 3400) - (Xenia: 9000)
'I end my turn.' Xenia stated the attack points of Gil Garth returned back to normal.
Violet drew her card. 'Powerful offensive Xenia, but I doubt one of these monsters are your ace.' Violet noticed.
'No they are not, but I won't bring out my ace for just anyone. Prove to me that you deserve seeing it.' The Aldmer replied.
Violet smiled: 'You told me to enjoy this Duel and your ace, so you expect to use it against me. If that is the case I won't disappoint you.
Violet took a moment to look over her hand.
'You are the only one who controls a monster, so I get to special summon Rose Princess!' Petals descended around Violet, a woman with pointed ears appeared in the middle of the pile she had pink hair and wore a reddish dress two leaf-like wings protruded from her back. (1200 ATK)
'Then I send Spore to my Graveyard in order to special summon World Carrotweight Champion.' The moment Violet discarded the card the ground broke open and the carrot-man crawled out of it. (1900 ATK)
'And I still have my normal summon.' Violet continued as she played another card, the black worm-like dragon covered in blue petals that was Blue Rose Dragon appeared. (1700 ATK)
'When Rose Princess is special summoned she is treated as a Tuner!' Violet shouted she spread her arms, a green light illuminated the area. 'Chilling flames engulf the entire world. Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! Synchro summon! Appear now, Black Rose Dragon!'
A storm of red, rose petals swept around the field the Black Rose Dragon was briefly seen then the petals shot out everywhere destroying everything they touched. 'With the effect of Blue Rose Dragon I special summon Black Rose Dragon from my Graveyard.' The petals stopped swirling around they gathered on the center of the field and this time the Signer Dragon fully appeared. (2400 ATK)
'Attack!' Violet then shouted, the thorny vines lashed out at Xenia.
(Violet: 3400) - (Xenia: 9000- 6600)
Xenia smiled. 'Seems I have to step up a bit. Not quite there yet to show you my ace monster. But this one should keep you busy for a bit.' She said while she drew her card. 'I activate Pot of Extravagance.' The Aldmer said the pot that was one part Pot of Avarice and one half Pot of Greed appeared. 'I banish all six of the Extra Deck monsters I have to draw two cards.' Casually she removed the cards from her Extra Deck and placed them in her pouch. 'I carried those Extra Deck monsters around just for this, for a Deck that does not depend on Extra Deck summons this card is a free two cards.' Xenia looked at the two cards for a second. 'I activate Monster Reborn.' She finally decided, the holy symbol appeared on the field and with it Gil Garth. (1700 ATK)
'I activate Temple of the Kings.' Xenia continued, a continuous spell card appeared on the field a giant golden stairway rose behind her, along the walls of the stair stood giant, Egyptian statues of Egyptian Gods in the middle of the stairs stood a golden plateau with a black jackal resembling Anubis sitting on a decorated coffin and in the back a closed sarcophagus.
'Next I release Gil Garth!' The Aldmer shouted, a shadow appeared on the top of the stairs, two scorpion tails impaled the monster then the beast appeared a gigantic scorpion-like demon with a round mouth full of sharp teeth, two tails and three-fingered claws on each of its eight legs. (2500 ATK)
'This is Mystical Beast Serket, whenever this beast destroys a monster by battle it gains five-hundred attack points and the destroyed monster is banished.' Xenia then pointed at Black Rose Dragon the claws of the giant scorpion proved too much for the Signer Dragon, the sarcophagus in the back opened as Black Rose Dragon was sucked in, the Egyptian eye on the back of Serket glowed as the beast grew in size. (2500- 3000 ATK)
(Violet: 3400- 3300) - (Xenia: 6600)
'Let's see what you do without your Signer Dragon.' Xenia said, she played one of the two remaining cards from her hand it appeared face-down on the stairs. 'I end my turn.' She concluded her turn.
Violet drew her card: 'I banish World Carrotweight Champion in order to special summon Spore from my Graveyard.' Violet took two cards, one she put in her pocket the other one she placed on her Duel Disk, a round, fluffy creature with two large, black eyes appeared, one star appeared above it.
'When Spore is special summoned this way its level increases by the level of the monster I banished.' Violet explained, four more stars appeared above Spore for a total of five.
'Next I summon Rose Lover.' Violet said a blonde woman appeared she was wearing a fancy, red dress decorated with many roses. (800 ATK)
Violet spread her arms, Spore changed into five, green rings.
'The beauty of flowers showing a darker side, the flower of destruction set into bloom! Synchro summon! Come forth, Splendid Rose!'
Some petals descended onto the field with it appeared the young woman dressed in a skin-tight light- and dark green bodysuit, she had her vine whips covered with thorns ready. (2200 ATK)
'Next I banish Spore for the effect of Splendid Rose, I halve the attack power of your Mystical Beast of Serket!' Thorny vines broke through the stairs wrapping around the scorpion creature. (3000- 1500 ATK)
'Then I banish Rose Lover from the Graveyard in order to special summon Gigaplant from my hand!' Out of the road that was still looking normal broke the gigantic plant, a venomous substance oozed out of its maw. (2400 ATK)
'Splendid Rose!' Violet commanded the woman swung her whips around.
'I activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!' Xenia roared, the whips bounced off of one of Jack's most used cards, the scarecrow made of junk disappeared and a face-down card appeared on Xenia's side again.
'Gigaplant!' Violet commanded.
'Temple of the Kings allows me to activate a trap that was set this turn!' Xenia shouted the Scrap-Iron Scarecrow appeared once more.
'Gigaplant summoned by the effect of Rose Lover is unaffected by trap effects this turn!' The green monstrosity crushed the scarecrow made of junk then it grabbed the scorpion and started devouring it. 'I end my turn.' Violet stated.
(Violet: 3300) - (Xenia: 6600- 5700)
Xenia smiled as she drew her card. 'It seems you have earned the right to see my ace monster.' She said as she looked behind her at the empty temple.
'I activate Premature Burial.' Xenia's spell card appeared on the field a red light shot out from her, when the light struck the coffin in the middle of the stairs Mystical Beast Serket crawled out of it. (2500 ATK)
(Violet: 3300) - (Xenia: 5700- 4900)
'Now I use both Mystical Beast of Serket and Temple of the Kings!'
The ground started to tremble violently as the temple behind Xenia sunk into the ground, the scorpion creature let out a horrifying shriek.
'By sending both to the Graveyard I can now special summon a monster from my Deck or hand, come forth!' Xenia roared as a card slipped from her Deck, her shadow expanded forming into a horrifying creature with pure, white, scaly skin. It was a humanoid creature with a snake's body and head as feet. The naked body of the creature was muscular, each finger had a sharp claw-like nail, two small wings spouted from his back then two more appeared on each side of his waist the demon had pointed ears, almost like horns and an actual horn protruding from the middle of his forehead. (1800 ATK)
'This is Diabound Kernel.' Xenia showed a smile Diabound bowed slightly to the Aldmer. 'Diabound is an actual spirit.' Xenia said: 'For the longest time his soul has been adrift after an unfortunate encounter between two spirits of the Millennium Items. Diabound had been under the control of the evil spirit of the Millennium Ring. After the spirit of the Ring was vanquished Diabound was trapped, being freed from the influence of this malicious spirit's influence I offered him guidance.' A serene smile appeared on Xenia's face: 'It took me years before the evil influences were gone and I could teach Diabound's spirit to be less murderous. Over time we became partners. I will show Diabound worthy opponents every once in awhile he must cut loose. Don't worry Diabound only manifests as a spirit, he has no influence over the real world, I lack the power to manifest Duel Spirits into this world. But in the Spirit World where he now resides being summoned in this world allows him to look into our world, like watching through a window. Diabound controls his avatar from the Spirit World. His consciousness is now in this avatar. So Diabound get to have his exercise without hurting people over in this world.'
Diabound let out an exited roar.
'Now I summon Bowganian.' A round orb with metal spikes everywhere fell onto the field, it opened revealing its center was a large eye, then two hatches on the sides opened and two tiny arms came out, one of which was holding a crossbow. (1300 ATK)
'Diabound Kernel attack Splendid Rose!' Xenia commanded the demon lunged forward. 'When Diabound attacks he gains six-hundred attack points permanently.' Xenia explained, the demon grew a bit. (1800- 2400 ATK)
He wrapped the snake around the Splendid Rose and crushed her with ease.
(Violet: 3300- 3100) - (Xenia: 4900)
'Next I use the effect of Diabound I banish him until the next standby phase in order to reduce the attack points of any monster by the amount of attack points Diabound currently has.' The demon wrapped himself around Gigaplant, the snake bit into the monster instantly weakening the plant. (2400- 0 ATK) After that Diabound faded away.
'Bowganian!' Xenia shouted, the eye creature let loose a bolt of its crossbow, Gigaplant exploded from within.
(Violet: 3100- 1800) - (Xenia: 4900)
Violet drew her card, the air rippled and Diabound Kernel returned. (1800 ATK)
'I start with Blood Rose Witch.' Violet stated before her appeared a young lady wearing a red dress with a white underskirt her long, burgundy hair was partially tied on the side of her head in a knot that resembled a rose, she twirled her staff around for a bit before she stopped with a wink. (800 ATK)
'I tribute Blood Rose Witch to add Witch of the Black Rose to my hand.' The Signer explained as the young lady disappeared she waved her staff a card slipped from the bottom of Violet's Deck, she took it.
'Since I used this effect of Blood Rose Witch I can add a level three or lower Plant to the top of my Deck.' Violet selected a card on the touchscreen of her Duel Disk it slipped out from halfway her Deck she quickly placed it on top. 'And now I can immediately normal summon Witch of the Black Rose.' Another young lady appeared, she had long, purple hair that flowed in all directions, she wore a black and white dress and held a similar staff that Blood Rose Witch used. (800 ATK)
'For the effect of Witch of the Black Rose I draw a card, if that card is not a monster Witch of the Black Rose is destroyed and the card I drew is send to the Graveyard.' Of course Violet knew it was a monster, she had made sure of that. 'I draw Rose Fairy, which is special summoned when added to my hand by a card effect.' Out of an explosion of rose petals appeared a tiny, slender creature, she had four wings, a light-pink skin, purple dreadlocks and a large rose bud on top of her head. (600 ATK)
'Next I banish Blood Rose Witch to add my banished Black Rose Dragon back to the Extra Deck.' Violet removed the card from her pocket she than spread her arms. Witch of the Black Rose changed into four rings, Rose Fairy flew through them seconds later the mighty Black Rose Dragon appeared for a second time. (2400 ATK)
'Next I activate Foolish Burial.' Violet casually continued her spell card appeared, a card slipped from her Deck she discarded it, immediately she played Monster Reborn, the holy symbol appeared and under it appeared the tiny, but brave Twilight Rose Knight she had just discarded, her white cape was flowing in the wind, she bravely held her sword aloft. (1000 ATK)
Violet crossed her arms the green light illuminated the area once more.
'Thorns draw blood from flesh, the thirst of the flower now quenched! Synchro summon! Bloom even further, Blood Rose Dragon!' The Signer chanted, Black Rose Dragon glowed as it slowly grew into its evolved form unleashing a mighty, deafening roar. (3200 ATK)
'All cards in both Graveyards are now banished.' Violet explained both Duelists emptied their Graveyards. 'Now all cards except my Blood Rose Dragon are destroyed!' The Signer shouted, a storm of rose petals appeared out of nowhere. 'I use the effect of Diabound!' Xenia roared to get over the noise the storm produced, Diabound wrapped around the dragon and bit it with his snake tail. (3200- 1400 ATK)
Diabound then faded away before the storm could get him.
Violet quickly played a card the moment the storm died down, it appeared as a face-down card. 'Now direct attack!' The Signer commanded, thorny vines lashed out at Xenia who took the hit without flinching.
(Violet: 1800) - (Xenia: 4900- 3500)
Xenia smiled. She drew her card the air rippled as Diabound Kernel appeared once again. (1800 ATK)
'I summon Newdoria.' The Aldmer stated an emaciated creature with dried, reddish skin appeared it wore green pants and some black, leather body armor and many belts lined with spikes. (1200 ATK)
'Go!' Xenia shouted the emaciated creature stumbled forward approaching Blood Rose Dragon, the mighty dragon made short work of the Fiend.
(Violet: 1800) - (Xenia: 3500- 1500)
'With Newdoria destroyed I get to destroy your Blood Rose Dragon!' Xenia laughed.
'Not quite, when an effect that would destroy a card is activated I negate the activation by tributing Blood Rose Dragon and then I special summon Black Rose Dragon!' The mighty dragon started to glow as it changed back into the Signer Dragon. (2400 ATK)
Newdoria disappeared without so much as a fuzz.
'In that case let's make a gamble then shall we.' Xenia said: 'I attack Black Rose Dragon with Diabound!'
The demon charged in. 'Of course Diabound's attack points increase by six-hundred. I will destroy Diabound and Black Rose Dragon with him!'
Violet smiled: 'Not quite.' She said as her only face-down card opened up: 'Chivalry! I negate the activation of Diabound's effect and destroy it!'
Xenia's mouth opened but she said nothing as the demon before her exploded, she was defeated.
'Black Rose Dragon!' Violet roared a storm of petals washed over Xenia marking the end of the Duel.
(Violet: 1800) - (Xenia: 1500- 0)
Xenia looked at the ground as she slowly walked past her teammates. 'Xenia.' Na'eemah spoke, the Aldmer stopped.
'Hold your head high Xenia. That was a good Duel, you gave it your all and you enjoyed yourself, been a while since I saw you enjoying a Duel.'
Xenia produced a soft smile with a bit of effort.
'So.' Na'eemah then turned her attention to Jack: 'It seems our teams are equal again.' Slowly she let her gaze go over her remaining three teammates. 'Qiana.' She then said.
One of the Aldmer with long black hair stepped forward, like Xenia she removed her fake, fur dress, she wore a similar outfit but brown, around her ankles and wrists she wore golden cuffs with pieces of a chain still attached, she wore a similar cuff around her neck as a choker, her D-gazer was shaped like a cat eye, her Duel Disk was the most striking, a massive unit she carried across her chest held up by leather straps that ran over her shoulders and connected to a harness on her back, this Duel Disk was similar to the ones teaches used on Duel Academies in the time of Yuki Judai, this model however was an updated version, lighter and more comfortable to wear, the thing was painted with a golden paint.
Violet readied herself for round two.
'Violet, the way she looks with those cuffs.' Jack said: 'I think we found our Exodia Duelist.'
Qiana smiled, but her eyes were fixated on her opponent. 'I wonder how you know.' She spoke.
'Anthony.' Jack replied: 'He said he wanted the ultimate Exodia card, Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord, said he tracked that card all the way to Egypt to a female card collector, who wouldn't sell it to him because she wanted to use it herself in the tournament. Low and behold a female Egyptian Duelist wearing cuffs similar to the ones Exodia was bound with, you're not even hiding it.'
Qiana closed her eyes, then she chuckled: 'My Duel is perfect Jack. I do not need to hide my strategy, doesn't matter if you know it or not you cannot beat my Exodia anyway.'
Once both Duelists had taken their positions two Duel Disks and D-Gazers sprung to life. 'Duel!' Both shouted.

'I shall take the first turn.' Qiana said she drew her opening hand when Violet didn't object. 'I summon Armageddon Knight.' The Aldmer stated before her appeared a warrior clad in black armor his red scarf flowed in the wind, he drew his rapier-like weapon from its sheath. (1400 ATK)
'With the effect of Armageddon Knight I send Left Leg of the Forbidden One to my Graveyard.' Her massive Duel Disk automatically ejected the card she quickly put it in the Graveyard.
'I end my turn.' Qiana then stated.
Violet drew her card, at first she felt confident, now she wasn't so sure. Qiana seemed to know what she was doing, deliberately sending Exodia pieces to the Graveyard. She knew that Exodius was Qiana's ultimate monster, nobody knew how that monster actually worked. With Anthony she had seen his strategy was actually gathering the Exodia pieces in his hand, when that failed he pulled out Exodia Necross but lost immediately after summoning it, Anthony banked on his cheating to get Exodia in his hand every time, without that he didn't knew how to properly play an Exodia Deck.
Qiana was different.
'I summon Twilight Rose Knight.' Violet stated, before her appeared the blue-haired warrior clad in her black armor, her white cape was flowing in the wind. (1000 ATK)
'With the effect of Twilight Rose Knight I special summon World Carrotweight Champion.' Next to Twilight Rose Knight appeared the humanoid creature made of carrots its champion's belt shone in the light. (1900 ATK)
'World Carrotweight Champion!' Violet commanded the carrot creature made a dash towards Armageddon Knight, it unleashed a series of wrestling moves on Armageddon Knight that left the proud warrior broken.
'Twilight Rose Knight!' Violet then commanded, the tiny warrior charged in attacking Qiana with a series of slashes.

Violet closed her eyes as she moved into her second main phase. Twilight Rose Knight changed into three green rings, mere seconds later her Signer Dragon landed behind her with a loud roar. (2400 ATK)
Violet than quickly played another card which appeared face-down behind Black Rose Dragon. 'I end my turn.' She stated.
Qiana said nothing as she drew her card. 'I activate Monster Reborn.' She simply stated, the holy symbol appeared on the field, under it appeared Armageddon Knight. (1400 ATK)
'With Armageddon Knight summoned I send Right Arm of the Forbidden One to my Graveyard.' The Aldmer stated, the Duel Disk ejected the card and she quickly discarded it.
'I activate Ritual of the Ultimate Forbidden Lord.' Qiana stated a spell card flashed onto the field immediately a black mist poured out of the spell card covering the area in an eerie mist, Qiana's expression changed her face was devoid of all emotions. 'I have three Forbidden One monsters in my hand and two in my Graveyard. I send all Forbidden One monsters from my Graveyard to my Deck and then I send two Forbidden One monsters from my hand to my Graveyard.'
Qiana quickly retrieved two cards from the Graveyard which she placed in the slot where her cards came out of, the Duel Disk automatically shuffled, she then put two cards from her hand in her Graveyard.
As soon as she did she crossed her arms. 'Sealed god slumbering in the underworld, shackles that contained your hatred broken. I call upon thy soul to be free! Join me in the realm of the living and unleash thy hatred upon my foes! I call upon thee Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord!'
The black fog started to swirl on the center of the Dueling field, a powerful figure appeared with his arms crossed, this was clearly Exodia, the mighty god unsealed, his shoulders and chest were pitch black, his red eyes pierced through Violet's soul, a wicked smile formed on Qiana's face.
'Exodius gains thousand attack points for each Forbidden One monster in my Graveyard, when Exodius attacks I send one Forbidden One monster from my hand or Deck to the Graveyard! Your end cannot be avoided!' Exodius let out a terrifying roar. (?- 2000 ATK)
Jack turned to Na'eemah. 'Stop this now, call Qiana back.' He demanded.
'Afraid you lose Jack? I Duel on honor, this means the Duel is not interrupted, I would have hoped you of all people wouldn't become pitiful when you're losing.'
Jack shook his head: 'That's not it, Qiana can't control Exodius, she completely changed.'
Na'eemah showed a serene smile: 'We are Aldmer Jack, we can control the power of gods, Qiana is the youngest of us, she might appear as an adult and in human years she is, in Aldmer years she's a teenager. Though Aldmer teenagers are much more mature than human teenagers. But she gets enthusiastic in a Duel, this happened in all our test runs with her and Exodius. Jack I can assure you this is perfectly safe.'
Qiana smiled: 'Exodius attack Black Rose Dragon!' The mighty god pulled back his fist. 'By attacking with Exodius I send Right Arm of the Forbidden One from my hand to the Graveyard.' As soon as she discarded the card energy gathered around Exodius' fist. (2000- 3000 ATK)
He then leaped forward punching Black Rose Dragon through its chest, with a scream the dragon dissolved in black smoke as the energy of Exodius burned it from within.
'Armageddon Knight!' Qiana then commanded, her warrior charged in slicing Violet with his sword.
'I end my turn.' Qiana stated.

Violet drew her card. 'I'm not backing down, everything has a weakness, I simply need to find it.' Violet checked her D-Gazer there was no information on Exodius as she had expected.
'I activate Call of the Haunted!' Violet shouted her face-down card opened up, with a roar Black Rose Dragon reappeared. (2400 ATK)
'I activate Rush Recklessly!' Violet stated as she played her spell card, Black Rose Dragon got stronger. (2400- 3100 ATK)
'Attack Exodius!' She shouted, the Signer Dragon took to the skies a storm of petals descended upon Exodius, when the petals disappeared the beast stood unharmed.

'You dare attack me?' Qiana hissed: 'Exodius cannot be harmed! A simple monster cannot destroy him!'
Violet quickly played two cards both of which appeared face-down behind Black Rose Dragon.
Qiana drew her card, a thin, black mist was now slowly pouring out of her eyes. 'I attack Black Rose Dragon!' She shouted the Aldmer retrieved Left Leg of the Forbidden One from her Deck as she discarded it Exodius got stronger again. (3000- 4000 ATK)
'I activate Mirror Force!' Violet shouted her trap card activated a barrier appeared between her and Qiana, Exodius punched straight through it the shards didn't affect it though Armageddon Knight got annihilated by the shattering wall.
Black Rose Dragon screamed as once again it got burned alive from the inside.
(Qiana: 6400) - (Violet: 6000- 4400)
Quickly Qiana played a card which appeared behind Exodius. 'Turn end.' She hissed.
'So I cannot destroy Exodius by battle and card effect don't seem to work either, well I've got just the solution.' Quickly she drew her card: 'I activate Back to the Front!' Her second face-down card opened up and once again Black Rose Dragon appeared. (1800 DEF)
'Now I summon Roxrose Dragon.' She stated before her appeared the small, black dragon with the rose bud on its back. (1600 ATK)
Violet spread her arms her Roxrose Dragon changed into three green rings, Black Rose Dragon flew through it. 'When Blood Rose Dragon is summoned all cards in both our Graveyards are banished, without Exodia cards in your Graveyard your strategy is destroyed!'
Qiana let out a laugh, the mist stopped pouring out of her eyes, her eyes were now completely black. 'Foolish mortal.' Her voice was devoid of emotion: 'Such a pitiful strategy can't stop a god! I activate Solemn Judgment!' Her only face-down card opened up, a red light shot out from Qiana: 'I pay half my life points to stop your summon from happening!'
(Qiana: 6400- 2950) - (Violet: 4400)
Blood Rose Dragon was just appearing when the red light struck it down.
With a shaking hand Violet played a card it appeared face-down before her.
'I attack you directly!' Qiana howled the last piece of Exodia slipped from her Deck she discarded it then Exodius pulled back his fist.
'I activate Dimension Wall! You take all the battle damage Qiana! It's over!' Violet roared.
Qiana started to laugh: 'It is over indeed, all pieces of Exodia are in my Graveyard due to the effect of Exodius, I win automatically!'
Before Violet could react the soul of Exodia appeared behind Exodius, both monsters put their hands together a giant beam of black light washed over Violet. Jack leaped in front of Violet before the beam could hit, he created a powerful shield that blocked the beam.

Jack glared at Na'eemah who was in complete shock, without saying anything Qiana walked away not paying attention to anyone else.
Leo and Juliet helped a shocked Violet to the side of the road.
'Look what you've done Na'eemah.' Jack hissed.
'I- I'm sorry.' The Aldmer leader stammered: 'Violet pushed her, none of us could get close to her in our test Duels.'
Jack shook his head: 'You have Ra now, you can stop her, of course the tournament rules forbid you from attacking your team mates but this is an emergency, Qiana attacked Violet with magic, had I not stepped in between Violet would have been killed.'
Suddenly the television screens turned on it was a message declaring Qiana was disqualified and that she had to leave the arena or face the consequences.
'Leo, Juliet.' Jack said: 'Qiana will not leave by herself, she has tasted the power of Exodius. Errol is close, I will deal with him you two deal with Qiana.' He then turned to Na'eemah. 'We'll finish this once we cleaned up this mess.' Jack said with a growl.

With both teams down to three members the odds for Na'eemah's and Jack's teams are even. But before their battle can continue Jack needs to deal with Errol while Leo and Juliet need to find a way to stop the rampaging Qiana, with Qiana disqualified she falls outside the tournament rules, giving Leo and Juliet a fighting chance.
