Gamelover41592: Thanks and yup he has.
kashriramji: No thanks, got it mostly planned out.
RonaldM40196867: He is to everyone and the same to you! Yes! I hate how they never addressed a few but I do plan to change a few things with characters that should have gotten together.
Anthony (Guest): Is this long enough? Over 3500 words is long. Uh...no why would they?
jh831: I know it was short, but it was on purpose as I follow the DVD scene selection. And yeah I do that. It's why I use Google Docs to automatically save my work so Fanfiction doesn't destroy it if I go to a new tab.
Warning: I do not own Marvel and Danny Phantom, especially their characters/events. Fictional events that I make are mine to own as well as my OC's.
In the sky, a quinjet seems to be in the air as it flies through a sunny day. It seems to be on route to somewhere as in Coulson was talking to Danny, who change back into his human form. Danny now wears a completely different outfit than he did before. Danny still has his famous white shirt with red trimming and on the collar, but it's over a white hoodie, with red trimmings on the cuffs with a red hood on it too. He still has his red oval design on his torso as well as pockets below it like standard hoodies. He wears slightly darker jeans with his famous red converse shoes. So not too different than he wore back in high school.
"So where are we heading?" Danny questions the agent in front of him as all Coulson told him was to get in the Quinjet and he would explain. So now after an hour of silence, he felt like he should at least say something so it's not too awkward.
"We have to make a stop at New York." Coulson answered the ghost boy..or ghost man?
"New York?" Danny asked as he was confused about why they needed to head there. "What do we need there?"
Coulson smiled. "Another of the Avengers need some... convincing."
"If that's the case and with Clint under mind controlled, where is Natasha?" Danny ask as he figured she would be a part of the situation.
"Getting Dr. Banner. We could use his help to find the Tesseract." Coulson answered before sighing. "Danny…there is something you need to know."
Danny look back at the agent in confusion as he notices the man was worried about whatever he was going to say. "Just give it to me straight here."
"The people who took Clint under their control….one of them is Loki." Coulson reveals to him.
Danny scrunched up his face as if he was trying to remember something. As if he did, his face lit up and in a quiet voice said, "Loki? The Norse God of Mischief and Brother of Thor the Thunder God, Loki?"
Coulson nodded. "That's correct. He and ana associate of his took this." Couson said as he handed Danny a file containing info on the Tesseract as well as Hydra. It was actually a copy of the folder that Fury had gave Steve an hour ago. "It's called the Tesseract. We have been trying to harness its power. But yesterday, we lost it to a couple of hostile forces and one of them was Loki." He told the boy, who looked at him whilst skimming the contents of the folder.
Danny couldn't believe what he was hearing, but he knew the agent wouldn't lie to him. Especially to an extent like this, but then he remembers that Loki was one of the villains that took the Tesseract. "And who was the other one?" Danny asks slowly.
"...I'm sorry to tell you this but it's Vlad." Coulson answered as Danny gasped in surprise. "He's finally returned."
Danny didn't know what to say, but he was shocked to hear about it. It has been over two years since he has seen him and maybe more than a year since he leas thought of the guy. Sure S.H.I.E.L.D. and most of the governments in the world have tried to find him after he was banished, but it looks like he disappeared. Danny didn't know if Vlad was dead or alive, but it be better than safe than sorry.
"Are you oke, Danny?" Coulson asks the ghost boy, causing him to look back up at the agent. "You've been quiet for a mine.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Danny answered but Coulson knew it was a lie. "Just a bit shocked that's all. I thought he would be gone for good, guess I'll make sure he should stay that way after this is over." Danny said with confidence as he is ready to take Vlad down and take him in for the crimes he needs to pay.
"That's a majority on why Fury wanted you to come in." Coulson said. "That way you can deal with Vlad as we all know how you feel for him."
Danny nodded his head in gratitude. "Thank you for tell me."
"There is something else." Coulson said in concern. "Loki and Vlad also somehow manage to take control not only other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Doctor Selvig, and Clint, but your friend Tucker too."
"What!" Danny shouted in shock. He couldn't believe it, his best friend, a brother to him was mind controlled too. Who knows what Loki and Vlad are having Tucker do under their control? He even could be even spilling secrets that Team Phantom wouldn't want the world to know and might turn the world against them. This isn't good as he is now determined more than ever to get his best friend back as he had experienced being mind-controlled himself. "I have to find him." Danny said as he is about ready to leave the Quinjet.
"We are doing everything we can to find them as we speak." Coulson informs Danny as he makes the young man sit back down. "We will get them back. You have my word."
Danny nodded his head in understandment. "Fine." Danny took a breath to calm down.
The two sat in silence for some time as Danny went over the files of the Avengers that has been updated to include Thor as well. Soon after a couple of hours they arrived in New York in record time, Coulson said, "Danny, I'd like you to wait here while I try to recruit Stark. Knowing him, he's probably not going to come."
"If you knew that was going to happen, what's the point of coming here?" Danny questions Coulson.
Coulson only just smile before answering. "Steve Rogers will be joining us."
Danny was stunned as he wasn't expecting that to be an answer. "Captain America is coming here?! That's amazing!"
"It is. It'll be a huge honor to meet him." Coulson said as he headed for the ramp, a grin on his face. "Unfortunately, you get to meet him before I do."
"Well lucky me." Danny said with a smile as he watch Coulson leaves and head towards Stark Tower.
Out in the ocean, deep underwater, little light could be seen. Seaweed and reeds moved in the water as a bright light shone, exposing a power line running along the sea floor. In front of it was none other than Iron Man, cutting open the pipe with a laser cutter and exposing the copper wiring within.
Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark or he is known famously as Iron Man is a billionaire industrialist and the former CEO of Stark Industries. A brash but brilliant inventor, Stark was self-described as a genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist. With his great wealth and exceptional technical knowledge, Stark was one of the world's most powerful men following the deaths of his parents and enjoyed the playboy lifestyle for many years until he was kidnapped by the Ten Rings in Afghanistan, while demonstrating a fleet of Jericho missiles. With his life on the line, Stark created an armored suit which he used to escape his captors. Upon returning home, he utilized several more armors to use against terrorists, as well as Obadiah Stane who turned against Stark. Following his fight against Stane, Stark publicly revealed himself as Iron Man.
Fresh off from defeating enemies all over the world, Stark found himself dying due to his own Arc Reactor poisoning his body, all while he was challenged by Ivan Vanko who attempted to destroy his legacy. After the Stark Expo incident, Stark reluctantly agreed to serve as a consultant for S.H.I.E.L.D. where he used his position to upgrade their technology while he began a relationship with Pepper Potts. And after that it's been quiet ever since except for a few instances, but nothing that Iron Man can handle.
The armored hero then placed a device over the exposed copper wiring, it wrapping around and extending on the pipe. It glowed a bright blue and thrummed with energy, ready and working as Iron Man turned away and rocketed upwards. Bursting from the water, close to a passing ferry, he turned in the air and shot towards the city, rocketing through New York City.
"Good to go on this end." Tony said, flying by buildings. "The rest is up to you." Tony instructed someone.
"You disconnected the transmission lines." Pepper's voice spoke through his intercom. "Are we off the grid?"
In Tony's hub, Pepper's face was by the side of his hub. "Stark Tower is about to become a beacon of self-sustaining clean energy." Tony said as the imaging of a tower and an arc reactor below it appeared on his hub's other side.
"Well, assuming the arc reactor takes over and it actually works." Pepper voiced her thoughts as Tony continued flying and turning a corner.
"I assume." Tony replied. "Light her up."
Tony flew towards a tall building on his path where the lights of the building began to turn on, the Stark logo by the top of the oddly shaped tower lit up in blue light.
"How does it look?" Pepper whispered.
"Like Christmas, but with more me." Tony bragged.
"We've got to go wider on the public awareness campaign. You need to do some press." Pepper said, as Tony arrived and flew up the tower. "I'm in DC tomorrow. I'm working on the zoning for the next three buildings."
"Pepper, you're killing me." Tony cut her off as he slowed down and hovered above a platform on the near top of the building. "The moment, remember? Enjoy the moment."
"Well, get in here and I will." Pepper voiced sultrily.
Tony landed on a nearby platform and as soon as he landed, a circular arch started rising up behind him. It followed after him and then started scanning his suit, as clamps and mechanical hands moved forward to start removing the armor.
"Sir, Agent Coulson of SHIELD is on the line." J.A.R.V.I.S. alerted him.
"I'm not in. I'm actually out." Tony declared as the mechanical limbs removed his helmet and pieces of his armor one by one, his stride never slowing as the armor is disassembled and taken away. Even as he steps onto two well-placed platforms that remove his greaves without him having to stop.
"Sir, I'm afraid he's insisting." J.A.R.V.I.S. pressed the issue.
"Grow a spine, J.A.R.V.I.S.." Tony replied. "I got a date." As he reached the end of the walkway and towards the inside of the suite, the machines removed the Iron Man boots.
"Levels are holding steady, I think." Pepper said, wearing a white, loosely buttoned dress shirt and jean shorts, looking at the holographic imaging of the tower and the arc reactor below.
"Of course they are. I was directly involved in it." Tony said as he walked towards Pepper's smiling form. "Which brings me to my next question. How does it feel to be a genius?"
"Well, ha, I really wouldn't know, now would I?" Pepper sarcastically said, as Tony reached her, turned off the hologram, and stood in front of her as she leaned on the counter.
"What do you mean?" Tony questioned. "All this came from you."
"No, all this came from that." Pepper replied, tapping on Tony's chest piece.
"Give yourself some credit. Please." Tony smirked and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Stark Tower is your baby. Give yourself twelve percent of the credit."
"Twelve percent?" Pepper questioned, raising her eyebrow.
"An argument can be made for fifteen." Tony quickly offered.
"Twelve percent? For my baby?" Pepper questioned further with an exasperated chuckle as she walked toward the couch at the center of the room.
"Well, I did do all the heavy lifting." Tony defended himself, following her. "Literally, I lifted the heavy things. And sorry, but the security snafu? That was on you."
"Oooooh." Pepper said, grabbing a bottle of champagne and some wine glasses for the two.
"My private elevator..." Tony began.
"You mean our private elevator?" Pepper interrupted him as she poured the champagne.
"-It was teeming with sweaty workmen." Tony continued as he sat down on the couch and sighed. "I'm going to pay for that comment about percentages in some subtle way later, aren't I?"
"It's not going to be that subtle." Pepper replied with a smirk, giving Tony his glass.
"I'll tell you what." Tony said as Pepper got on her knees. "The next building is gonna say 'Potts' on the tower."
"On the lease." Pepper corrected, who made to tap their glasses.
Tony hissed and pulled back. "Call your mom. Can you bunk over?" Tony joked, much to Pepper's laughter.
"Sir, the telephone." J.A.R.V.I.S. interrupted them. "I'm afraid my protocols are being overridden."
"Uh…" Tony mutters.
"Mr. Stark, we need to talk." Coulson's voice played out on Tony's phone.
Tony grabbed his phone and brought it to his face. "You have reached the life model decoy of Tony Stark." Tony spoke in a monotone voice, Pepper chuckling in the background. "Please leave a message."
"This is urgent." Coulson insisted.
"Then leave it urgently." Tony replied.
The next moment the elevator opened and Coulson was standing there, the phone still on his ear and looking less than amused.
"Security breach." Tony declared, continuing the joke. "It's on you."
"Mr. Stark." Coulson greeted.
"Phil! Come in." Pepper greeted with a smile, rising from her seat and walking towards him with the champagne glass still with her.
Tony looked confused for a second, likely realizing that he had never actually gotten to know Agent Coulson's first name. "Phil?" Tony repeated.
"I can't stay." Coulson said, coming out of the elevator towards them.
"Um, his first name is 'Agent'." Tony joked as he followed close behind Pepper.
"Come on in." Pepper said. "We're celebrating."
"Which is why he can't stay." Tony stated with a forced smile on his face, clearly not happy with the interruption.
The two finally reached Coulson who decided to speak first. "We need you to look this over. Soon as possible." Coulson said as he tried to hand Tony a laptop, but instead of taking it, Tony made a face and awkwardly stood there while trying to think up an excuse.
"I don't like being handed things." Tony protested to him.
"That's fine, because I love to be handed things. So, let's trade." Pepper declared as she handed her glass of champagne to Coulson, taking the file from his hand in return and then taking Tony's glass and handing him the tablet. "Thank you." She said as she takes drank at it.
Tony froze for a moment in defeat, before quipping back. "Official consulting hours are between eight and five, every other Thursday."
"This isn't a consultation." Coulson replied.
"Is this about the Avengers?" Pepper asked, Coulson looking at Pepper immediately. "Wh-Which I know nothing about." She then tried to cover it up.
"The Avengers Initiative was scrapped, I thought." Tony opened the laptop device while walking over to the counter prior. "And I didn't even qualify." He then took apart the laptop and turned it into a display console.
"I didn't know that either." Pepper lied.
"Yeah, apparently I'm volatile, self-obsessed, don't play well with others." Tony went on.
"That I did know." She admitted with a nod of her head.
"This isn't about personality profiles anymore." Coulson replied.
"Whatever." Tony grumbled. "Ms. Potts, got a second?" He calls her over.
"Half a mo." Pepper whispered as she walked to Tonys as he accessed the tablet.
"You know, I thought we were having a moment." He told her.
"I was having twelve percent of a moment." Pepper countered back. Tony gave her an exasperated look. "This seems serious." Pepper said seriously. "Phil's pretty shaken." She says as she gives a quick look to Phil as he was.
"How would you know if it's...Why is he 'Phil'?" Tony questioned as he was getting off-topic.
"What is all of this?" Pepper asked.
"This is, uh..." Tony began, placing his hands over the screen and then expanding them out, throwing out the images and files across multiple screens in front of them in holographic form.
Appearing in front of the two, were four holographic panels. The one in the middle showed Steve Rogers's picture along with information on him like his shield, footage of his actions in WWII, and his de-thawing. The second on the right of them showed a picture of Thor, Mjolnir, and the Destroyer's attack on Puente Antiguo. The third one on the left showed a picture of Doctor Banner, information on him, and video footage of tanks and soldiers being attacked and easily destroyed by a fast-moving, large green creature moving too fast or the destruction too obscure for the two to see clearly. The last one was in the middle of Steve and Bruce's file was info all about Danny. It had a picture of the ghost boy in both human and ghost form. Showed info on his powers and skeleton with the DNA that S.H.I.E.L.D. had gotten when they took most of Vlad's stuff from his mansion before Danny had gotten a hold of it. The holograms even show video reports of him fighting villains like Nocturn, Undergrowth, and saving the world with the entire ghosts helping out all the while the sounds of loud, monstrous roars played out. Tony and Pepper looked over at the information displayed to them in stunning shock.
"…This." Tony finished as he and Pepper looked on in awe at what they were seeing, it was nothing they had ever witnessed before.
"I'm going to take the jet to DC tonight." Pepper said as she let out a breath of air.
"Tomorrow." Tony corrected.
"You have homework." Pepper replied as she look back at him. "You have a lot of homework."
"Well, what if I didn't?" He asked.
"If you didn't?" She repeated.
"Yeah." He confirmed.
"You mean if you finished?" She asked, to which Tony nodded his head. "Well, um...then." She started, then leaned forward and whispered into Tony's ear, something saucy and surprising enough to make him gasp in surprise. His eyes widened in joy as he listened, even for a brief moment looking towards Coulson. The agent embarrassingly turned away so as to not get involved with their flirty exchange, but did a cracking smile breaking out of his composure.
Pepper pulled away to which Tony said "Square deal. Fly safe." Tony agreed.
Pepper smiled and lean in to seal the deal with a kiss. "Work hard." She told him with a whisper as she walk away and walked to Coulson. "So any chance you're driving by LaGuardia?" She asked Coulson.
"I can drive you." Coulson offered.
"Fantastic." Pepper said. "Oh, I want to hear about the cellist. Is that a thing?" She asked.
"She moved back to Portland." Coulson revealed.
"What? Boo!" Pepper exclaimed with disapproval.
As Pepper and Coulson entered the elevator, discussing the latter's love life, Tony watched them leave and waved their closeness off. He turned back to the data to see another panel showing Loki, the giant hole and destruction of the facility, and a holographic image of the Tesseract. Tony grabbed the hologram of the Tesseract in his hands, narrowing his eyes and giving it a worried look.
Well, I bet you all weren't expecting this. Now were you? Yup, I've decided to update this once more on a Monday night...well technically it's a Tuesday morning, but you get the point I'm trying to make. I felt bad that the last chapter was a bit too short so I decided to post this one too as it is a bit long and included Danny in it. And he just found out Vlad and Loki are back and is the cause of Clint, Selvig, and Tucker's mind control. And what did Danny mean about Team Phantom having secrets? Well, that's just s teaser for the second or third story as idk when that would be addressed in the future. But let me know what you all thought of this chapter.
