Warning: I do not own Marvel and Danny Phantom, especially their characters/events. Fictional events that I make are mine to own as well as my OC's.
Some time had passed, and Danny was bored out of his mind waiting as he already finished his college homework for the week. Luckily Coulson let him borrow the tablet and let him work on it as otherwise he would have been bored out of his mind. But since Danny got done way sooner than he thought he became very anxious and bored. It was still dark outside after Coulson left and was nearing midnight in just two hours. Soon he heard the engine of a motorcycle pulling up outside the Quinjet. Danny got up and looked out to see a six-foot blonde man in regular clothes holding a file similar to Danny's, looking at the aircraft uncertainly.
"Um, can I help you, sir?" Danny asked as he walked down the ramp. The man looked shocked to see a kid standing there as he didn't think kids would be involved.
"Uhh... Captain Rogers reporting." He said slowly. "Am I in the right place?" Steve asks uncertainly.
Danny was floored. He hadn't recognized the Captain in regular clothes, but it make sense as he tried not to draw attention. People usually prefer the man with the mask and not what is underneath it. Similar to himself when people prefer his alter ego when his human form is his real self.
Danny considers Captain America one of his idols, not to mention that, unlike Tony Stark, he and Steve have a lot more in common. Both were skinny wimps as they both tries for sport and in Steve's case army they were both rejected because they don't have the athletic build. After both getting their powers they became better by being brave, strong, and kind-hearted heroes. It was always Danny's dream to be like Captain America before he got his ghost powers. It's one of the many reasons why Danny protected Amity Park just as Steve protected the world. And now Danny not only saved Amity park, but save the world too.
"Yes...yes it is Mr. Rogers." Danny said in a professional tone as he doesn't want to mess up and make a fool of himself. "Need help with your stuff?" He asks as he figures he should give the man a hand with the duffle bag while Steve brings the motorcycle in.
"No, I got it." Steve replies. "Thanks though." Steve said before driving the motorcycle up the quinjet to park near the wall as he got off of it.
Steve then turned his attention to the Fenton boy. As he watches the kid, looking over the Avengers file, who looks too young to be taking part in such a dangerous job, he has no idea how to react. Sure he was expecting times to be different, but he wasn't expecting kids now to be part of this.
"Are you...Danny Fenton?" Steve asked after a few minutes. He has heard of the Fenton kid from the files, but he hasn't had the time to read more about him
"Yes, sir. I am." Danny said with a grin.
Danny held out his hand to his idol to shake as they now have a proper introduction. Steve shook it slowly, he shuttered a little when he noticed how cold the boy's hands were. Usually, the cold doesn't bother him, but for some reason, this cold sensation felt...different.
"So why are you here?" Steve asks as he doesn't want to offend the kid.
"What do you mean?" Danny ask confused as he put the file away as Steve sat next to him.
"Why are you here with S.H.I.E.L.D., I mean." Steve clarifies. "No offense, but aren't you a little too young to be a part of this?"
Danny didn't not like hearing that as his smile turn to a frown. "I'm here because ghosts are involved." Danny answers with a slight glare.
"Ghost?" Steve questions as he doesn't know he heard that right. "Your serious?"
Sure Steve has heard of ghosts, but who hasn't? But they were just a bunch of baloney and just superstition as they weren't really real. That has to be crazy.
Sadly Steve hasn't heard that Danny here just saved the world with the help of most of the ghosts in the Ghost Zone. Not only has he been saving Amity Park from annual ghost, but manages to fight of Pariah Dark, saving his town and the world in the process. Then later save the world again after Vlad tries to take over the world if he succeeds in saving it, but failed to do so. That's when Danny reveals he has a plan to save the world absolutely free and manages to convince the world to work with him as he and the ghost used their intangibility to turn the world intangible. That way the Disasteroid can pass harmlessly through the world instead of the other way around. That's also how Danny reveals himself the world as he has been hailed as a hero.
"Unfortunately no. S.H.I.E.L.D. considers me their best asset when it comes to ghosts and this particular ghost we are going to deal with is very dangerous." Danny explains to the Super Soldier with a glare.
Steve didn't like the tone in Danny's voice as maybe he should have been a little nice about it. But it doesn't change the fact that a kid like him shouldn't be here, which is sorta ironic as he was told years ago he shouldn't be a part of the army due to his conditions before he got his powers. Unknowingly that Danny here has powers of his own, but has yet to reveal it.
After a few more minutes, Coulson returns with no Tony Stark which Danny notices immediately as Coulson sees that the quinjet was a bit too quiet.
"Where's Tony?" Danny asks as he sees Coulson standing there.
"He won't be joining. But I let him know what we are dealing with so he'll join us when he is ready." Coulson explains as the piolet returns.
"Great…" Danny mutters as he was hoping to meet Tony as he is a big fan of his work.
The pilot starts the quinjet before they took off in the air and into the night sky as they head back to S.H.I.E.L.D. base. Coulson notices the tension as it was a bit weird for him.
"Something happen?" Coulson whispers to Danny as they stood by each other while Steve remained in his seat looking at the Avengers file with holograms displaying them.
Danny rolls his eyes in annoyance. "Let's just say, never meet your heroes." Danny answers as Coulson is a bit surprised to hear that as he had thought the two would have gotten along considering they are so much alike.
It was silent again as Steve continues to look at the holograms with interest as Coulson began to have a conversation with the Super Soldier and tire to help him if he needed which Steve appreciated. Danny meanwhile was messing around with some devices he had as it look like the uniform belt he was upgrading. Next to him seems to be a pair of glowing cuffs that are designed to use against ghosts in case the thermos fails, which he has a feeling he will need if he is going to stop Vlad with whatever plans he had with Loki.
See after the Disasteroid, Danny decided he needed to get serious about his education. Luckily with his status as a hero, he can now get time to catch up on his school work and that eventually turns him into a genius just like his parents. Like his parents, Danny can create things and work the kinds out as he is a bit of like Tony Stark if he was being honest.
Here is a bit of a short chapter, but yeah Danny and Steve finally meet. And as usual with other fanfictions like this, Steve is not a fan of Danny being a part of this as he believes he is just a kid when he is 19 as of this time. SO what did you all think of the interactions I hope this was good enough for you all. But yeah, sadly this is the last chapter of Avengers Phantom as of this month of July, but don't worry, it will return in September as August is going be focusing on the other stories I did in June. Also, school starts back up next month and I will be slightly busy because of that as I hope to publish a lot in these upcoming months.
