Hey welcome to my new story Heroes United: Unlimited. I know lots and lots of people make their own version based on The Incredible Muffin. So I decided to make my own, but with Rex in this version. This story takes place during the end of Ben 10/Generator Rex: Heroes United, but the ending is different. Hope you all enjoy this story.

Warning: I do not own these shows such as Justice League, Generator Rex, and Ben 10. Fictional events that I make are mine.

Rex's Universe
Bug Jar

In this universe, a "Nanite Event" spread microscopic machines called nanites across the world, and nanites are present in nearly every living being. When a person, animal, or plant's nanites spontaneously activate, the victim is mutated into a being known as an "Exponentially Variegated Organism," or E.V.O. for short, becoming monstrous and typically losing any sanity and going on a violent rampage.

The EVO threat is controlled by an organization known as Providence. EVOs, Providence, and other places like the Bug Jar. And that just happens to be there place where Providence's secret weapon known as Rex Salazar is there.

Rex Salazar is a young EVO with the ability to cure other EVOs, including the ability to control his nanites using the Omega-1 Nanite. He can grow weapons and machines from his body, often using his limbs, and can communicate with technology, machines, and even with nanites themselves.

He is there along with his brother Caesar Salazar and Ben Tennyson. Ben Tennyson is a teenager from a parallel universe who wields the Ultimatrix. He formerly owned the Omnitrix. He arrived in Rex's world through a space-time rift.

When Ben first arrived in Rex's universe, they both got into a brawl as Ben mistook Rex for an alien while Rex mistook him for an EVO. Ben was eventually captured by the Providence Defect Group, but he escaped, trying to find a way back home.

Once he finally realized that there was no way back he gave up and decided to assist Rex in his time of need. At this point, Ben met Caesar, who had come to save them both from Alpha, a dangerous creation made by Caesar six years ago during the Nanite Project.

After Alpha turned hostile, Ben used Cannonbolt to escape with Rex from Alpha. The two went back to The Plant where they played basketball and explained their origins. However, Alpha attacked the EVO containment to absorb the nanites from the present EVOs, including Rex. Ben helped save Rex from Alpha, causing him to flee.

And that's what they are doing now.

"And, that my friend is how you save the world." Ben says with a smirk, while Rex sighs in relief.

Ben wore a black shirt, blue jeans and a green jacket with white stripes and the number 10 on it, and black and white Converse-style shoes. Ben wears the Ultimatrix on his left wrist.

Rex and Ben have just defeated Alpha. Because of that, the nanite was dispursed. But Rex took control over Alpha's Nanites and compacted them into a baseball-sized ball of extremely dense matter.

"Very clever, little brother." Caesar complimented as he pulls out a device and scans Alpha. "The density of this sphere is over 30 grams per centimeter cubed. It would be extremely difficult for Alpha to slip through the molecules of this, assuming it survived compaction."

The two Salazar brothers stand up, as Caesar looks at the heroes.

"We need to get rid of it." Caesar says with determination as he pulls out the Null Void projector.

"Caesar, wait." Rex says as he tries to stop his brother.

Rex is Hispanic, being half-Mexican and half-Argentinian. He is most normally seen with lightly spiked, slicked-back dark hair. He is also taller than most people his age. Rex also wears a pair of orange goggles on top of his head, with a T-shirt that is blue on the top-half and white on the bottom half, with two orange rectangles on the left pectoral.

Rex wears black pants with blue geometrical patterns that glow whitish-blue whenever Rex uses his powers. He also wears blue gloves with orange cuffs and blue-black shoes. His clothes are basically having a bunch of rips and tears on it considering that he was in a fight.

"Rex, I wasn't fully able to repair the void gun." Caesar explains. "I'm not sure how long my repairs will hold before it discharges. We only get one shot at this, and we have to do it fast. It's now or never, Rex."

Rex looks at his new friend Ben, who just nods in agreement that it's time to go home. Caesar steps a few feet back from them and activates the portal, at the same time Ben and Rex look at each other and fist bump as a goodbye.

Suddenly the Null Void projector starts to malfunction, with the portal turning blue. Before anyone can react, the portal begins to suck in Ben, Rex, and the Alpha ball in the portal, causing it to close permanently.

"Rex!" Caesar yells out his brother's name, but it was too late as he, Ben, and Alpha are gone for good.

Caesar, hope the portal didn't kill them and just take them back to either the Null Void or Ben's world. Unfortunately, he was so wrong, as it takes the three of them to an entirely new world.

Metropolis

Ben and Rex slowly open their eyes and see a cloudless blue sky above. They also see buildings around them including a building with a golden globe on top. This is definitely an unfamiliar place for them as they seem to be in a park.

"Where are we?" Rex asks as they got up from the ground.

"I don't know. But this is definitely not my Earth." Ben tells him. "None of these buildings looks familiar."

Rex looks over to see a sign that says 'Welcome To Metropolis'. "Apparently we're in a city called Metropolis. You heard of it?"

Ben just shook his head no. "No, and that's not good. This means we aren't on my world or the Null Void. If I had to guess, we are on an entirely new Earth."

Suddenly the duo of heroes realize something.

"Where's the Alpha?" Both Ben and Rex say at the same time.

"Hermano, I know for a fact it came with us," Rex tells Ben remembering that the portal brought it with them.

"Then it must be on here on this Earth somewhere else," Ben says in determination.

"Your right. We got to find it fast before Alpha either escapes or someone stupid enough to break him through." Rex says.

They then heard large wings flapping behind them and saw several red and gold armored humans with large bird wings on their backs armed with various weapons.

"Halt, Humans." One of them shouted at them. "Show us your identification now or suffer the consequences!"

As the hawkmen pointed their spears at the duo in a threatening tone, Ben and Rex looked at each other.

"Who exactly are you guys? And what are you doing on Earth?" Rex asks trying to get info on them.

"We are the Thanagarian, Military Force and we currently occupy this planet for its own safety." One of the hawkmen explains.

When the two heard the word "Occupy" they know what it means.

"I think we heard that before and we heard enough," Ben said as he pulled up his left sleeve and reveal his Ultimatrix.

The Ultimatrix, unlike the Omnitrix, didn't resemble a wristwatch, looking more like a gauntlet. The central component, the selection interface remains the same, while the watch band was replaced by a gauntlet-like band extending up to almost half of the wearer's arm or forearm

Ben twist the dial as a holographic alien came up. He cycled the various aliens he collected over the years.

"It's Hero Time!" Ben says as he slammed his hand on the Ultimatrix core.

A green light flashes over his body, the birdmen shield their eyes for a moment because of the amount of light in their eyes.

"HEATBLAST!" Heatblast shouts.

When the bird aliens unshielded their eyes they see a humanoid creature made of magma, its forearms and hands are oversized and the head it's on fire. Heatblast raised his hands pointing at the hawkmen.

"Time to make some hot wings," Heatblast says as his hands blasted a few hawkmen in the air using his firepower.

At the same Rex forms a massive orange gauntlet that he dubs Smack Hands and begins to punch the Thanogarion left and right.

"And I'm Rex." Rex greets with a smirk as he forms a large orange projectile cannon from his arm called: Slam Canon. "Now, thrill me."

With that response, a maw on the back end of the slam cannon can extend into the ground and reload solid material for ammunition. It then proceeds to fire the balled material at two Thanogarian, knocking them out with great force

In moments, all the hawkmen were beaten down, their armor has dents, most of them are smoldering and had burn marks and were unconscious but alive. Heatblast landed near Rex as he looks at his friend.

"Well, I think it is safe to assume that they are not friendly aliens. We just went from one fight to another". Heatblast says.

"I hear you. Ever wish that we can just take one day off and relax?" Rex ask.

"With our life, not a chance," Heatblast tells him with a smile.

"So, what do we do now? Just find Alpha and somehow get out here?" Rex ask.

"Yes, we have to find him. But I think we should deal with this invasion first. Maybe this Earth has heroes of their own that can help us." Heatblast suggests. "If there is any."

"Great, so where do we start?" Rex ask.

Heatblast looked around. "I think I know where we should start next."

He then points up towards a large silver ship flying over the city. "That one looks different from the others. So I guess it's pretty important."

Heatblast and Rex smirked as they know that they need to get up there. Heatblast points his arms to the ground and shot a continuous stream of fire launching himself into the air.

Rex then forms a jet pack with a pair of wide orange turbine wings that he calls it his Boogie Pack. He then launches himself in the air as the two heroes fly at the ship.

Heatblast looks at Rex with a smirk. "Race you." As soon as he says that, Heatblasts begins to fly faster than Rex.

Rex was shocked to see his friend cheat as he forms his own smirk. "Oh, you are so on."

Thanagarian Prison Ship

Six members of the Justice League, some of Earth's greatest heroes, had been defeated. They had been betrayed by Hawkgirl, one of their own. Trapped in a sphere of red sun radiation lay Superman, the Man of Steel.

In another cell, Wonder Woman, Princess of the Amazons, was bound to a pole by her own indestructible lasso. Near her cell was the Flash, the Fastest Man Alive, pinned to the ground by gravity generators.

Across from him lay the Martian Manhunter, the last son of Mars, held by metals that he could not phase through. At the end of the hall were the cells of Batman, the World's Greatest Detective, and Green Lantern. The Lantern had been stripped of his power ring and was thus helpless. Batman was simply not seen as a threat. A sense of defeat hung in the air, along with silence.

But the silence was broken when a voice crackled over the intercom in a panic tone. "Intruders have entered the ship. All Troops stop them, Stop them now!"

The Leaguers tried to see what was going on when the door to the cell chamber exploded. Three semi-charred Thanagarian fell to the ground a few seconds later. Inside the chamber strode Heatblast and Rex. They looked around at the brightly-clad people before them.

"Well... This is definitely not the bridge." Heatblast says as the League sees a being made of magma and head on fire, which they were not expecting.

"It looks like a prison holding cell to me," Rex says as his hands were giants known as Smack Hands.

They were also not expecting to see a teen with giant hands.

"If I'm right, these aliens are hostile and these prisoners are possibly the Earth's heroes," Heatblast says.

Rex stepped toward and looked at the occupied cells. "By the look of their cells, they definitely heavy hitters."

He then looks up and sees more armed hawkmen pointing at them.

"We got incoming amigo," Rex says as forms a pair of navy-colored metallic gauntlets that generate blue energy shields made of highly energized atoms that he calls Block Party and uses to block their attack. "Set them free, while I deal with these guys."

"You people are the good guys right?" Heatblast asks Superman as he runs to him.

The Man of Steel was confused when he asked that. "We are the Justice League."

"Justice League? Seriously? Nobody thought that name was a little corny?" Rex asks while slicing the hawkmen's weapons with his pair of large blue axes with energized blades that he calls Bad Axes.

Flash tried to raise his head, but the gravity was too strong. He managed to say, "See? I'm not the only one who thinks so."

Heatblast threw a fireball at Superman's cell controls and it shut down the red sun radiation. He walked toward him and melted his chains and cuffs.

"Thank you, free the others," Superman tells Heatblast as he heads towards the next cell which is Wonder Woman.

Heatblast throws another fireball at Wonder Woman's control cell and freed her and gathers her lasso.

"Thanks, I'm Wonder Woman by way." She thanks Heatblast as he noticed her outfit, lucky his head is on fire.

"I'm Heatblast, free the rest of your friends. I got this." Heatblast tells her.

Wonder Woman then begins to start freeing her teammates. While Heatblast throws multiple fireballs at the hawkmen to keep them busy.

He saw that Rex is fighting a bunch of hawkmen with his pair of giant, metallic nunchaku that he calls Funchucks. He was hitting them left and right. Then spins one of them around really fast and hits them dead on. But unfortunately, he was getting overpowered.

"You mind, giving me a hand if you're not too busy," Rex asks as he uses his funchucks to knock a hawkmen straight in the air.

"How about four?" Heatblast asks knowing which alien Rex needs help with.

Heatblast slams his Ultimatrix dial and a green light begins to brighten the room. In his place was Four Arms. He has well-developed muscles, two pairs of four-fingered arms, and red skin. A black stripe goes from his chin to his lower lip, and he has four eyes: the main pair, and a smaller pair below them.

He also wore gold wrist and ankle bands, a pair of black underwear that has a gold waistband, as well as two golden sashes that went across his chest. His eyes were recolored green, he had a black ponytail, and he wore the Ultimatrix symbol on his chest.

Four Arms begins to slam all four of his hands together creating a Thunderclap that knocks all of the hawkmen that Rex was fighting back to the walls knocking them unconscious.

"Thanks." Rex thanks.

"No, problem." Four Arms says with a thumbs up.

The two heroes saw the Justice League fighting. They also see what powers they got which are super strength, super speed, flight, intangible, and even shooting lasers out of Superman's eyes except for Batman and Green Lantern who don't have powers.

Four Arms saw one of the hawkmen carry a large gun and pointing at Wonder Woman. He runs towards him and blocks the hawkmen path as he slammed his hand into the Ultimatrix on his chest, a flash of green light, the heroes and hawkmen shielded their eyes.

"Frankenstrike!" A new voice shouted. "Really? I haven't seen this guy in like forever."

In Four Arm's place stood Frankenstrike. He had a muscular body with a human nose, completely gray skin, a black mullet hairstyle, sideburns, and two gray tower-like conductor coils on his back. Frankenstrike wore black pants with lines on them, with a triangle dash in the middle, that glowed green.

He had stitch-like lines on his arms. He had gray gloves with his fingers showing, and had three black and gray bolts on his chest and one black bolt on each side of his neck, with all bolts having a green line on them.

The Ultimatrix symbol replaced the top bolt in the triangular shape made by the placed bolts on his chest. His boots have steel on the bottom.

"Hey, big guy!" Frankenstrike taunted. "Hit me and win a prize!"

The Thanagarian fried his gun as Frankenstrike stood calmly as he has his hands moved into the blast range. Instead of exploding, the energy blast went into his tower-like conductor coils on his back and into his body.

"My turn," Frankenstrike says with a smirk as he raised his hands and shoots electricity at the hawkmen.

Had it hit anyone, the blast would have packed enough of a punch to be fatal. As it happened, Frankenstrike had been aiming for the wall. A massive hole was blown through the ship.

The city could be seen below. Meanwhile, Frankenstrike used a much weaker blast to knock out some of the Thanagarians, while Rex deals with the other ones.

"That was so cool dude. You should have used this guy with the Alpha." Rex says with a smile.

"It's been years since I turn into this guy. I actually forgot I still have him in here." Frankenstrike explains.

They then turn to the League.

Rex tells the Justice League and his team. "We going down people, Anyone who can fly, grab someone who can't."

Superman flew through first, carrying Batman; he was followed by the Martian Manhunter, who was carrying Green Lantern. Wonder Woman was the last out, carrying Flash. Before she got too far, she turned back to Feedback.

"What about you two?" Wonder Woman cried.

"Don't worry." Frankenstrike said with a grin "We've got it covered."

Frankenstrike slammed the Ultimatrix dial again, and was obscured by another green flash; in his place stood blue phantom-like alien.

"BIG CHILL!" Big Chill shouted in an eerie whisper voice as he unfolded his wings into a blue Mothman-like appearance and flew in the air.

Rex was behind him as he forms his a blue glowing machine that Rex builds with his lower legs. It is similar to a regular surfing board, except it can fly at high speeds in midair. He calls it his Sky Slyder.

Rex turns to Big Chill as they follow the League "Let's get out of here."

Flash looked up at the princess holding him. "You know, it's possible, and I could be wrong here, but it's possible that those guys are on our side."

Streets of Metropolis

The Justice League along with Big Chill and Rex had managed to evade The Thanagarian and hide in a clothing stone.

As the group caught their breath, Green Lantern turned to Superman. "That X-ray vision working again".

Superman looked up at the ceiling then the walls, nodding. "Just enough to see hawk soldiers still patrolling the skies."

J'onn in his Martian form, looked out towards the streets, "They'll have the whole city looking for us by now".

Flash spoke up with a smile. "Who knows, maybe they'll get tired and go home."

The others looked at him, some of them glaring at him.

"Yeah, a little optimism at a time like this couldn't hurt," Flash says sheepishly.

"Trust me," Big Chill said, "We're never that lucky."

Rex walks towards them "We haven't been properly introduced ourselves back there. My name is Rex Salazar. This is my friend Ben Tennyson." Rex tells them as he points to Big Chill, who still hasn't transformed back to human.

"Sounds like a human name to me," Flash says.

"I am actually human, thank you very much." Big Chill tells him.

Then suddenly a booming voice is heard from outside. "THIS IS THE VOICE OF THE THANAGARIAN OCCUPATIONAL AUTHORITY. YOUR SO CALLED 'JUSTICE LEAGUE' AND TWO OTHER CONVICTS ARE IN VIOLATION OF OUR MARTIAL LAW. THEY ARE TO BE CONSIDERED AN ENEMY, AND DEALT WITH ON SIGHT. ANY PERSON OR PERSONS FOUND AIDING OR HARBORING THEM… WILL BE SUMMARILY PUNISHED."

Big Chill glanced at Flash. "Optimism, huh?"

The fastest man alive slumped. "Something like that, yeah."

Batman spoke, his voice laden with authority. "We're going to have to go underground for the time being. Keep low and rethink our plan of attack."

Wonder Woman raised her hand, looking at Batman "How exactly do we when the entire planet is out looking for us?"

Rex came toward them. "Especially you guys have brightly colored outfits and they are not made for blending in."

"He is right," J'onn said, drawing the others' attention away from their new ally as he held the sleeve of a nearby coat. "They're looking for our costumes. But without them, we are ordinary citizens."

As he spoke, the Martian shapeshifted into a human man in a brown trench coat.

"Whoa, wait a second!" The Flash exclaimed. "What about the whole secret identity thing? I mean, I trust you guys, but what about them?" The speedster jerked his thumb to Big Chill and Rex, which offends them.

"True. You definitely can't trust the guy who pulled your sorry butts out of a prison ship. That would be stupid." Big Chill says with a glare.

"Besides we either earned your trust or not. You guys don't have a choice in the matter. We're all being hunted. Besides, I don't have a secret identity." Rex tells them with a glare as well.

Big Chill stepped forward to them. "Look we didn't ask to be here. I was supposed to go home with a prisoner when the portal malfunctioned sending us here. And as for this secret identity dilemma..."

With that, Big Chill lifted his hand to the symbol on his chest and tapped it. In a flash of green light, the Mothman was replaced by a young human man wearing jeans, a black shirt, and a green jacket with a 10 emblazoned on the left side. With the Ultimatrix on his left wrist

"Like Rex said. I'm Ben Tennyson." Ben said, with his arms crossed.

The others were stunned, to say the least.

"Two kids?" Lantern asked in complete disbelief. "You're telling me two kids had to rescue us from the Thanagarians? We must be doing worse than I thought!"

"Hey, we're sixteen, jackass." Rex corrected the lantern.

"And I been doing this since I was ten," Ben said.

Superman asked him more stunned. "Since you were ten?"

Ben lifted his left wrist. "An alien device, the Omnitrix, was ejected from a ship in orbit to keep it safe from an intergalactic warlord. It landed in front of me, and I used it over my entire summer vacation to be a superhero. Eventually, I got an upgrade called the Ultimatrix that can evolve my aliens."

"Wait, a minute. Time out, amigo." Rex says getting everyone's attention. "You mean to tell me you could have evolved your aliens anytime during our fight with Alpha?"

The others were confused about who this villain name Alpha is but just put it on hold and watch the duo talk.

"Uh… yeah," Ben says sheepishly while rubbing his neck. "I would have gone Ultimate, but the watch was timing out every few seconds."

"Dude, you should have gone with Ultimate Heatblast or something. It would be easier. " Rex tells him with a slight glare.

"I know, I know. But I didn't have time to think about it. Had to save your ass." Ben tells him, which offends Rex.

"My ass did not need saving," Rex tells the watch boy. "You needed yours."

Wonder Woman decided to break an upcoming fight as she then turns to Rex. "And how long have you been doing this?"

"I would say when I was thirteen," Rex tells them.

"Look, how about we go over our history after we sneak out of the city that is currently occupied by bird people," Ben tells them.

Batman nodded in agreement before stepping forward and removing his cowl, revealing black hair and blue eyes. "Bruce Wayne. Flash is Wally West. Superman is Clark Kent. Green Lantern is John Stewart. And you know Diana and J'onn." The billionaire explained.

Flash sighed, "Show off" as he pulled his own mask, his messy red hair as he smiled a bit for everyone.

Rex smirked and laugh a little "Wally, really?"

"It's a better name than Ethan," Ben says with a smile, which made Wally smile a little.

A few minutes later, every member of the Justice League was dressed up as a normal civilian, with Superman wearing a blue business suit and glasses. Diana wearing a long-sleeve blue shirt and jeans while tying up her hair in a long ponytail, Green Lantern with a skull cap, a brown hoodie, and brown pants. Batman wearing a leather jacket along with grey pants and a turtleneck, and Flash going with dark jeans and a brown jacket.

Rex changes his shredder t-shirt into a similar shirt. Along with finding a pair of his signature jacket that he found. He also made his hair slick back a little to change it up. He still had his signature goggles on his head. While Ben just stuck to his normal attire.

They were now standing outside in the alley that they had come through previously, Bruce poking his head out to see if the coast is clear.

"We need to split up, they'll be looking for eight of us. Not in pairs." John spoke in a military voice.

"Who takes those two?" Clark asks about Rex and Ben.

J'onn asked "A rendezous point?"

"We're about thirty miles from Gotham City, we regroup at my house there. But try and keep a low profile." Bruce looked at Ben and Rex. "Me and Diana take the kids. We'll pose as a family making our way out of the city."

Rex glared at Bruce. "Fine, but I not calling you dad."

Before moving out of the corner spitting to Superman and J'onn, then John and Wally, and finally Bruce, Diana, Ben, and Rex.

Wally let out a slight sigh, "Thirty miles through Hawk-infested territory...No problem."

Aboard The Thanagarian Mothership

Onboard the Thanagarian mother ship, Shayera Hol, formerly a member of the Justice League under the alias of Hawkgirl, was at a loss for words from what she was seeing on the vidscreen.

When Hro Talak, Commander of the Thanagarian forces and her soon-to-be husband, had discovered that the League had broken free from their prison ship and caused it to crash in Metropolis, he had been furious. In a rage, he demanded that recovery teams check the security feeds on the ship to find out how they had managed to escape. That was a few hours ago, and Talak had calmed down enough to think out the situation. While a formidable team, the Justice League could not hope to defeat the might of the entire Thanagarian invasion force. They were outgunned, and the Thanagarians knew all their weaknesses, thanks to Shayera's information.

Of course, this was before Talak received the images that were now posted on his screen. Images of a mysterious creature that seemed to be made of fire and rock. A creature that managed to break the Justice League out of confinement and fight off a legion of Thanagarian soldiers before transforming into some silicon-like being that fired energy blasts and took down an entire prison ship.

Shayera had no idea what this being was, or if it was even from this planet, but she knew that it would make the occupation of Earth a little more difficult. The creature was a wildcard; if it was able to transform between those two different forms, what else could it become? How dangerous was it?

At the moment, Talak was speaking over a vid-screen with Paran Dul, a female Thanagarian who was in charge of the construction of the shield generator, the one necessary to protect Earth from Gordanian invasion.

"Beware that the Justice League has escaped, due to the interference of these strangers," Talak warned her. "Stand ready for an attack."

"Any attack on this base would be suicide," Dul boasted, completely unconcerned about a possible strike on the Thanagarian forces.

"Keep me informed of your progress. Let nothing delay you," the Thanagarian commander ordered.

"By your command." The video screen then went blank. However, Shayera was more concerned with a topic mentioned earlier on in the conversation between Talak and Paran.

"Humans as slave labor?" she questioned, having overheard Paran mention using humans to 'lift and carry as well as any animal'. The former Justice League member was concerned.

"Unfortunate, but necessary." Shayera took note of how little remorse her betrothed showed as he said this before he continued, walking over to a nearby console to check up on a few details. "We are on a most unforgiving schedule. We must move as quickly as possible if we want to finish the hyperspace bypass in time."

Shayera's eyes widened. Hyperspace bypass? This wasn't what he told the human race!

"Bypass?" she asked, quickly walking over to look Talak in the eye. "I thought we were creating a force field for Earth!"

"That was simply our cover story."

Shayera paused as dozens of thoughts raced through her head. But the first and foremost was... "When were you going to tell me this?" she nearly growled. "Did you not think you could trust me?"

A long silence ensued, as both Thanagarian warriors gazed into each other's eyes, neither one willing to back down. In all their time together, Shayera had never felt this angry at Talak, nor this betrayed. What was wrong with him?

"Follow me," he said quietly, snapping Shayera out of her thoughts. The Thanagarian leader began to walk away, and Shayera began to do as he said.

After about five minutes of walking and an elevator ride later, the two entered the war room of the ship, where Talak brought her over to a large screen used for battle strategy and tactics.

"As you are well aware, the Gordanian homeworld has been protected for decades by an impenetrable defensive line," Talak explained, drawing up an image of the Gordanian home system, with their planet being shown as surrounded by legions of ships and space stations that make a frontal assault a fruitless endeavor.

"But this chain of hyperspace bypasses will allow the full force of our armada to go around their defenses by jumping behind them, which will let us wage a direct assault on the heart of their empire."

Shayera saw what he meant, and it was strategically brilliant to be sure. But there was something else going on here. Something very bad...

"Earth is the last link in the chain. Once we finish it, we can finally attack and annihilate the threat of the Gordanians forever."

The former Hawkgirl was beginning to hear a hint of what sounded like victory in Talak's voice. But that wasn't what was bothering her the most.

"But ripping a hole in hyperspace will destroy this entire planet, and everyone on it!" she protested.

"Unfortunately, yes," Talak said quietly, his voice becoming heavy, revealing how long and how hard he had been fighting this war, and what it will cost him. Thanagarians normally didn't believe in souls, but Talak still felt that he would face eventual retribution for his actions.

"For Thanagar to live, Earth must die."

Metropolis streets

As Ben, Rex, Bruce, and Diana are on their way out of the city. They passed by Thanagarian patrols. They were all silent with each other.

Diana breaks the silence. "So what can you two do?"

The duo didn't see the harm in telling the League their capabilities. It wasn't like they have a secret identity, to begin with. Ben and Rex just look at each other with a small smile that they get to tell their origin story again just as they did with each other when they met just yesterday.

"Well, like I said before. Six years ago, it all started when the Omnitrix fell out of the sky. I was ten-years-old." Ben starts to explain his origin.

"Six years ago, the nanite event change everything," Rex explains his origins.

"And there's alien DNA in the Omnitrix," Ben says with a smile.

"And that's how I could build stuff with micromachines in my body," Rex says with a smile.

"Now, me, my cousin Gwen, and my best friend Kevin are the Plumbers. They are basically inter-planetary law enforcement forces, with both human and alien members." Ben says finishing his origins.

"Now I work with my best friend Bobo, who's a Chimpanzee EVO. Along with Agent Six, that's similar to you, Bruce. White Knight is the only person to not be affected by EVO. And lastly, Dr. Holiday who is also my doctor. We used to work with government agencies, but let's just say something happen there." Rex tells them as he finished explaining his origins.

Both older heroes were shocked, if that was true then Ben and Rex got more powers than the entire League.

"Then how come we never heard of any of you? Someone of your powers should have been seen before, especially if you've been doing this since you were ten." Diana ask.

Rex explains them. "Because we're both are not from this universe."

Both Bruce and Diana were shocked. They definitely weren't expecting that.

Ben continued. "And before you ask how we know we're from another universe, there's no Justice League where we come from, no Thanagarian invasion, no Metropolis, and no Gotham City. And this isn't the first time that I've wound up in another universe."

"And there is especially no EVOs here running around as I said before," Rex told them.

Bruce nodded, then gestured to Diana that they needed to keep moving. They would decide on how to proceed regarding Ben and Rex later, provided they survived the Thanagarians.

Gotham City: Wayne Manor

Bruce, Diana, Ben, and Rex were the first to arrive at Wayne Manor. And it was huge but not as huge as the Forever Knights castle, but still impressive.

"This is your house?" Ben was shocked.

"Dude, how rich are you?" Rex was also shocked well.

Bruce gives both Ben and Rex an eyebrow as he pressed the doorbell and it open by an older balding man wearing a butler uniform.

He bowed in a proper manner. "Master Bruce, so glad to see you safe".

Bruce introduces the butler. "This is Alfred, my butler." Then he gestured to the group. "This is Diana, Rex, and Ben."

Alfred bowed then extended his arm. "Welcome, would you like some refreshments?"

At the moment Ben and Rex's stomachs growl as they blush a little.

"Yeah, it's been a while since we ate. Too busy to deal with something." Rex tells him.

As they rested and relax for a while Bruce then shows Ben and Rex toward a grandfather clock as he pulled one lever that opened to a tunnel.

Bruce smirks a bit as he watches the young heroes expressions as they enter a large cavern. "Welcome to the Batcave."

Several Hours Later

Ben walked around the cave and see a lot of memorials that Batman have collecting over his crime-fighter years just as a twenty-foot tall penny and a mechanical T-rex and other smaller objects.

Rex checking out the Batmobile. '"I bet this is a fast ride with a ton of cool gadgets."

Bruce, meanwhile was at his computer as he didn't look at Rex. "Rex, don't touch it."

Rex was spooked at how he knows that he was near his car and Rex stepped back a bit. The two heroes then looked at the glass cases of weapons and costumes of Batman's villains, especially at the freeze gun.

After waiting impatiently, the last two members of the League, Flash and Green Lantern, arrived at the manor and were led to the Batcave by Alfred.

"Your guests have arrived sir," Alfred announced the arrival of Wally and John.

"You're late," Bruce says with a glare.

"Nice to you too," John spoke sarcastically.

Wally notices the T-rex. "Hey, that's a giant dinosaur."

"And I thought Batman was the detective." Said Alfred, the teens starting to like the butler.

"Wait, till he sees Humungousaur," Rex whispers to Ben who laughs.

J'onn speaks to the group. "We were just speculating why the Thanagarians are here."

Clack said. "Obviously not to us."

"But if the Gordanians aren't anywhere near Earth." Wonder Woman speaks. "Why do they need to build that force field?"

Bruce said. "If it is a force field."

"If I could get a look at their technology, maybe one of my brainy aliens could figure it out," Ben tells them.

"Or I can take a look. I've been known to be smarter than the average person." Rex speaks up.

The League turned to look at Ben and Rex, who shrugged.

"I have hyper-intelligent transformations, so sue me," Ben says.

"For me though, I just don't use my brain as often as I should," Rex says casually. "But I can control machines with a thought."

"I can tell you what it is," A voice said.

The eight heroes turned and were shocked to see the traitor, Shayera Hol coming from the shadows with no mace or weapons.

Clark pulled off his glasses. "You've got a lot of nerve showing up here."

"We should thank you," Diana said crunching her fists. " It saves us the trouble of hunting you down" when a flash of green light behind them.

Before anyone else can say more, a bright green light flashes.

"Four Arms!" Four Arms shouted.

He then jumped over their heads and grabbed the traitorous Leaguer. Two of his muscular arms grabbed her own, while his other two wrapped powerful hands around her throat.

Shayera gasping for air. "I didn't...come here to fight. I came to help."

"Hawk People all over the planet, Martial Law?" Wally asks with a glare at her as he crosses his arms. "Us getting chased around like dogs. I don't think we can take much more of your help."

Shayera looked at Four Arms with a pleading look in her eye.

He let go of her throat first, but before he let go completely, Rex walks up to her with a growl. "Make a wrong move, and I'll finish you off myself."

Then Four Arms let her go.

Shayera turned to the Justice League. "They're building a hyperspace bypass. When it's active, it'll destroy the planet and everyone on it." She approached Bruce and handed over what looked like a purple video cassette. "Here; this has all the information on the project."

Bruce glared at her. "Believe me, I didn't know the magnitude of Talak's plan."

Without taking his eyes off of her, Bruce took the device. "We'll check it out." As he turned away from her, he said, "There's the door."

With that, the League turned their backs on her.

Four Arms and Rex were about to join them when they heard Shayera "Aren't you going turn your back on me too?"

Four Arms and Rex turned back and saw John standing behind her, glaring at her. "Last time I let my guard down, you sucker punch me."

"It wasn't personal."

"Keep telling yourself that."

"I did what I thought was right then. And that's what I doing right now." She stepped to John and handed what looks like a green ring. As Shayera spread her wings and took off.

Four Arms presses his Ultimatrix on his collar and turns back to normal as Rex asks. "Dude, she did not just propose to you did she?"

John shot him a mild glare, then slipped the ring onto his right hand. A sudden green glow surrounded his body before changing into his clothes into a green and black costume.

"Okay, that's pretty cool." Rex admitted.

The three heroes joined the others, who were watching a simulation of the effects of the hyperspace bypass. They watched as a simulated Earth was consumed by bright, crackling energy.

"Ingenious," Batman muttered.

"Yeah, I'm impressed," said Superman, taking off his glasses again, "let's go wreck it."

"How?" asked Green Lantern, "It's behind a force field."

Before anyone thinks, an bright green light flashes behind them as they turn.

"BRAINSTORM" shouted in a British accent an orange crab-like alien with a very large head; he got six legs and small pinchers and the Ultimatrix symbol are on the belt on his abdomen. As Brainstorm walked toward the bat computer right next to Bruce.

"If you allow me the use of your computer, I may calculate this problem." Brainstorm says which Bruce gets off his chair and let's Brainstorm sit it and type on the keyboard.

Brainstorm press key after key with his pinchers at a fast pace and well calculating in his mind.

"The Force Field control systems are most likely be on their flagship." He hit a few keys and bought up an image of the Thanagarian mother ship and highlighted where it is. Brainstorm steps off the chair and press his Ultimatrix symbol and change back to Ben with a smirk smile.

Batman glanced at the teen, then looked at the League. "Go shut it down." He ordered. "I'll take care of the bypass."

"That thing's the size of a city." exclaimed a skeptical Flash, "What are you gonna do, throw a Batarang at it?"

Batman didn't even blink. "Something like that." He got up and headed to where his spare costume was located. "They must of put a tracking device on Shayera. Suit up."

When the door to Batcave smashed open as two dozen hawk soldiers led by Kragger, one of Talak's advisors.

As he orders his troops. "Spread out, they're hiding here somewhere.

Before the hawk-people took another step, a green blade sliced through one of the cannons, while several large spikes of diamond pierced the other weapon, rendering it useless.

"Who's hiding?" Green Lantern smirked as he and the rest of the League with Rex and Ben emerged from the shadows.

"Let me introduce you to a friend I like to call..." Ben speaks when a flash of green light that blinding the hawk soldiers.

"HUMUNGOSAUR!" shouted a loud deep voice, Hawk men saw a twelve-foot-tall humanoid brown and tan dinosaur creature with the Ultimatrix dial on his chest.

Humungosaur crunching his fists. "You bird guys are making a humungous mistake!"

"Hey, punk hawks," Rex says as he forms a pair of massive orange super boots with retractable spikes on the soles that he calls Punk Buster. "Meet Punk Buster." With that response, he jumps in the air and lands on two hawk people.

Green Lantern raised his right fist. "Come and get some."

The hawkmen rush into the battle as a few fired on Green Lantern as he flew into the air and fired a blast of green energy at one of them, knocking him down. Wonder Woman spun her lasso and wrapped it on one of the hawkmen's ankles, she spun around and slung him away. Martian Manhunter phased through the floor and lifting his right arm, close-lined the hawkmen that Wonder Woman threw.

Flash ran through the hawk soldiers, hitting them at high speeds and then rushing away, one Thanagarian drew a bead on the speedster with his pistol, but Superman crushed both the weapon and the soldier's hand.

As he cried out in agony, Superman said, "Let's use our indoor voice." He then punched the Thanagarian into a stone wall.

Two more Thanagarians were pursuing the Flash, but he avoided every shot they fired. He zoomed around them and spun his arms fast enough to create a small tornado. The twister blew them into the bottom of the giant penny, which collapsed on top of them, tails-side up.

Flash ran on top of the penny. "Tails," he quipped, "I win."

Batman swung from the ceiling on a grappling line, kicking one soldier in the face. He let go of the line to land on the ground. As he did so, he threw three batarangs into the chest armor of three Thanagarians. The blades didn't penetrate, and the warriors hovered in the air with a look of contempt on their faces.

"Your weapons are pitiful." One gloated. None of them noticed the blinking red light on each batarang.

"Wait for it." Behind the Dark Knight, hundreds of eyes glowed in the darkness. Hundreds of bats swarmed the Thanagarians, attracted by the signals emanating from the batarangs. The soldiers were quickly reduced to unconsciousness, bleeding wrecks.

Rex forms his machine that consists of a navy-colored, backpack dynamo and a long, black tentacle-like whip that extends from his right arm that he calls Blast Caster on his right arm. He whips one around as he forms his Smack Hands on his left arm to knock him out cold.

Humungosaur slams his fists on hawk soldiers, their weapons can't penetrate his tough skin. As Kragger was about to shoot him, Humungosaur swings his tail at him and straight to a wall.

Soon enough, the fight was over. After tying up the aliens, the nine heroes walked out of the Batcave and back into Wayne Manor. They found Alfred sweeping up the shattered remains of the front windows.

"Mind the glass, sir." He warned calmly, as they left.

Batman turned to Green Lantern. "I want you, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Rex to go to the command ship and shut down the force field."

"And the rest of us?" Martian Manhunter asked.

Bat looked at the Martian. "You're going to help me retake the Watchtower."

Flash ran right to Batman. "It's crawling with Thanagarian soldiers. How do you plan on getting inside?"

Batman turned his head and pointed at the Thanagarian ship outside his living room window. "With that."

Ben steps in between Batman and Flash. "Wait a minute. I can't be separated from Rex."

"Can Rex fly?" Batman glared at Ben.

Ben blinked a few times before answering "Well yeah, but-"

Then a hand was on his shoulder and turned and see Rex.

"Ben, go with them. I'll be fine. You do your job and we do ours". Rex says as he looked at him. "Don't get yourself killed, monster guy."

Ben just smiles back. "Thanks, you too robot kid."

The two heroes shook hands. Rex then proceeds to form a jet pack with a pair of wide orange turbine wings that he calls his Boogie pack. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern flew out the window, with Rex following.

Batman, Flash, Martian Manhunter, and Ben enter the alien ship. Martian Manhunter then begins to examine the controls.

"Well?" Batman asked.

"I have no idea how to fly this vessel." Martian Manhunter tells him.

"What's this do?" Flash asked as he pressed a button.

A beam of energy fired from the ship, making a fairly large hole in the side of Bruce's house.

Batman moved his face very close to Flash's. "That's. Not. Helping." Batman said through gritted teeth.

Martian Manhunter looks up at them. "I need one of the Hawk men."

Ben looked at the controls. "I might be able to drive this ship?"

Flash turns towards him. "What? You know how to hotwire a spaceship?"

Ben replied. "Something like that. In my world, we have advanced ships and weapons."

Flash and Martian Manhunter looked at him in a strange way. Ben then dials a specific alien he used not so long ago. When he found the one he is looking for, he slams the dial. In a green flash of light, Ben was replaced with Upgrade.

He has a black exterior with green stripes that resemble circuitry all over him. The green circle on his head is his eye, which glows whenever he talks. Meanwhile, his body is made up of billions of small cell-like creatures called nanites. The front torso is green with black circuitry patterns and the Ultimatrix symbol on his chest. He then begin to sink down into the ship until he covered it completely as he merged with it.

"Woah, this is cool," Flash said as the heroes took their seats.

In a matter of seconds, the Thanagarian shuttle lifted off, heading towards the Watchtower. As it left, Alfred stepped out onto the yard. He spotted Kregor lying on his side still knocked out.

Alfred, remembering how the alien had struck him when he and his hawkmen had intruded upon the Wayne household, merely glared and said, "I'll have to ask Master Bruce to not leave trash in the yard."

In The Thanagar Command Ship

Shayera sat in a low circular chair in the middle of the holding room with a force field surrounding her. Her eyes closed as she waited for her fate to decide. The doors opened as Shayera open her eyes and face to face with Talak.

"Why would you do this?" Talak said in a firm and strong voice.

She stared back at him. "I'm trying to save lives."

"So am I, Tens of billions of Thanagarians," Talak said in a rising voice.

Shayera stepped a little bit closer, glaring at him. "So we trade the human's lives for our own?"

Talak spoke. "War makes for hard choices, Lieutenant." Looking at her, not as a soldier or the woman he loved. "It's them or us."

Shayera said. "The man I fell in love with would have found another way." Hoping to change his mind.

"Are you talking about me or Green Lantern?" Talak jumps to a conclusion.

Then Shayera stared at him in silence before closing her eyes and looking down.

Talak looked at her. "I didn't want to believe it...Shayrea, I love you. I can forgive your treason." Talak said in a hurtful tone. Shayera's arms crossed and shaking.

"I can forgive everything." He places his gauntlet on the force field. "Makes this all go away."

She opened her eyes wide. "Just tell me what I need to hear! It was a meaningless flirtation! You were lonely...Tell me I'm the one you love! Not. HIM!" Talak spoke with some desperation.

Shayera stepped closer and said. "If you want me, I'm yours. All you have to do is spare the Earth." Making one last attempt to change Talak's mind.

Talak stepped back a bit and slams his fist onto the force field. "Perhaps you will forget him when Earth is nothing but a memory."

As he walks out to the door as spikes come to the sides and Shayera stands alone with her thoughts.

Watchtower

As the stolen shuttle neared the Watchtower, Martian Manhunter shapeshifted to look like Kregor. Activating the communication systems, he spoke in Kregor's voice.

"Shuttle Elipson-sixteen, requesting entry." He sent a code to the waiting Thanagarians. "Confirm docking code."

"Docking code confirmed." Came to respond as the Watchtower's docking bay opened. "You are clear to come aboard."

When the shuttle landed, 'Kregor' stepped down the ramp towards a pair of waiting Thanagarian guards.

"We weren't expecting you, sir." Said one in surprise.

"There's been a change of plans." Said the Martian, as he shapeshifted into a creature that resembled a blue Cyclops.

He quickly subdued the two guards, but more entered the docking bay. One prepared to open fire, but he was disarmed when a batarang disabled his weapon, and Batman punched him in the face with an electrically-charged set of brass knuckles.

As more guards. Flash zipped past them and wailed one to another with his speed. Meanwhile, Ben has transformed into Diamondhead.

His lower body, torso, and the top of his head were similar to Chromastone's, consisting of indigo crystal that has black lines and dots over it. There were six crystal shards on his back instead of four and he also sported two more on the front of his chest. His eyes were green, and he wore the Ultimatrix symbol on his chest.

With that, he begins to punch each and one of the Thanagarians that was coming toward him. But it was relatively easy as he knocks them out swiftly with his hard skin.

Thanagarian Command Ship

Talak looked at the holographic screen and see Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Rex. "Commander, The Justice League is approaching." said one of the soldiers.

"Kragger's strike squad has failed. Launch interceptors," said Talak as his command, hundreds of fighter ships swarming around the command ship.

"Pretty bad odds." Commented Wonder Woman.

"For them, maybe." Was Rex's response.

Superman agreed. "Yeah. They don't stand a chance."

To say it was a battle would have been a lie. It was a beatdown. Superman and Wonder Woman simply flew through the fighters, their enhanced durability allowing them to be unaffected by the impacts while leaving a trail of falling wreckage behind them.

Green Lantern and Rex took down any stragglers, the energy attacks used by Green Lantern's power ring easily cutting through the metal of the fighters. With Rex, he forms his bad Axe as it easily cuts through the metal of the fighters.

Most of the fighter pilots saw Superman and Wonder Woman as greater threats and focused their attacks on them.

Nobody on the outside seemed to notice Green Lantern cut his way through the hull of the flagship and make his way inside.

Watchtower

Martian Manhunter, Batman, and Diamondhead finish off the remaining Hawk soldiers on the main deck.

"Okay," said the Flash, "the Watchtower's ours again." He ran over to Batman, who had been using one of the computers while the other two had been fighting the soldiers. "So where's your secret weapon?" He asked the Dark Knight.

"You're standing in it."

Flash's eyes widened. "Wait… you mean we're gonna…"

"Take the Watchtower out of orbit and drop it right on top of their little science project." Finished Batman.

Ben, who has transformed back to human steps in between Batman and Flash. "Wait, what about people down there?"

"The Bypass will be abandoned by now, it will be activated remotely by the command ship," Batman said as he glared at the unconscious hawk-soldiers. "Get them the escape pods."

Batman activated the primary thrusters blasted the Watchtower and headed out of the obit and on course towards the hyperspace bypass.

As Flash, Martian Manhunter, and Ben are starting to move any Thanagarians to the escape pods before launching. Only one escape pod left, Flash zipped the entire Watchtower checking any Thanagarians. Martian Manhunter and Ben dragged the last of the hawk soldiers into the escape pod.

"Is that the last of them?" Martian Manhunter asks.

"Yep." said the Flash, as Batman began to silently back out of the pod, "The tower is completely pest-free."

"Good." That was all Batman said as he pressed the launch button.

The doors closed and the pod launched, with Batman still on the Watchtower. The group rushed to the communicator.

"What are you doing!?" demanded Martian Manhunter.

"I can't have the Watchtower burn up on reentry. I'll have to guide manually." Batman said over the intercom.

Ben banged on the window. "Batman, don't do it. You shouldn't have to do this."

"I have to. Gentlemen, it's been an honor." Batman says as he turns away as Flash dropped to the ground gazed on the floor. Martian Manhunter and Ben looked down at Flash with sorrow.

Thanagarian Flagship

The first that anyone knew that John Stewart was aboard the flagship was when he burst through the lower decks, blasting any Thanagarian in his way. Using security cameras, the soldiers on the bridge, including Hro Talak, could see what the Green Lantern was doing, and where he was going. At the sight of the human's face, Talak ground his teeth. He hated John Stewart. That man had stolen the love of Shayera Hol away from him. She had even betrayed her people, warning the Justice League of their plans, and even giving the Lantern back his ring. For her treason, she had been imprisoned in the brig. He had tried to reason with her, and told her that the only way for their people to survive was if the humans died. Instead, she had decided that Earth's people were more deserving of her love. One person on Earth in particular.

In the control room, one of the hawk soldiers pulls up a holographic screen of Green Lantern. "Intruder alert. All available security forces to the engineering deck!"

"Delay that!" barked Talak, as he strode towards the door, his axe in his hand. "Green Lantern is mine."

Watchtower

Batman ran to the main deck and activated thrusters to the maximum and also active reinforced blast shutter over the windows. He types in the course to the Hyperspace bypass.

Batman at the command chair and active a steering wheel as the screen turn on a direct view of the Watchtower on a course projection.

Thanagarian Command Ship

Superman throws a fighter ship into a bridge of the command ship latching between outside and inside. Wonder Woman sees the opportunity by slamming her fists into it ramming to the control room causing it to explode.

Wonder Woman flew through the wreckage as Rex follow her as they land. As they ran to a corridor splitting left and right.

"Ok, which way to go? Left or right?" Rex ask.

Wonder Woman placed her hand on Rex's shoulder. "I go left and you go right. One of us has to find that force field generator."

Rex nodded. "Right." He then forms his Sky Slider for his feet. Which made him hover in the air as he forms his Funchucks on each arm, making him very deadly.

"Well, that was impressive." Wonder Woman said seeing Rex's builds.

"Thanks, now let's find that force field thing and save the planet," Rex said.

Rex goes to the right hallway, while Wonder Woman goes to the left hallway.

Wonder Woman found the Thanagarians to be fierce opponents, but she could still take on small groups of them without much trouble. As she defeated one group, she noticed a door covered with irregularly-placed bars. Behind the bars, and inside of a force field, stood Shayera Hol. Once known as Hawkgirl, she had been one of Diana's best friends. But she had spat on that friendship, and Amazonians do not take kindly to traitors.

"I should leave you to burn." The Amazonian princess with a snarled tone.

She then raised her sword and slashed it through the controls to Shayera's cell. The bars withdrew into the wall and the force field disappeared.

Without another word, Wonder Woman marched away. As soon as she was gone, Shayera stepped out of her cell and, after picking up a fallen mace, flew off towards the shield control.

Engineering Deck

On the engineering deck, Green Lantern used his ring to pry open a set of doors. Behind them was a large room with a force field, shaped like a pillar, inside of which was a small device with a plunger-like attachment.

"The force field controls." Green Lantern looked up to see Hro Talak, the Thanagarian commander, land in front of the force field. "That is what you came for, yes? You want it?" he raised his axe into a ready position, "All you have to do is get by me."

"It'll be a pleasure." Lantern raised his ring and sent a beam of energy at Talak, who deflected it with a swing of his axe.

"No." Talak gave a glare. "This won't be like the last time that you took something that belonged to me."

Lantern's eyes narrowed. He knew that Talak was talking about Shayera. "Anything I took was freely offered. Maybe you should take better care of your stuff."

Green Lantern sent several more bolts of energy at his foe, all of which were deflected. Both flew into the air, with Green Lantern forming a triangular shield to block Talak's axe. The blow still took a chunk out of the shield. After several more blows, Lantern figured that he would be better off dodging Talak's blows than blocking them. Unfortunately, he still took several hits from both Talak's fist and from the hilt of his axe. One blow, in particular, knocked him into some machinery, which exploded, giving him several cuts on his face.

Stunned, Lantern couldn't stop Talak from picking him up by the throat. "I've beaten you, little man." Talak raised his axe. "Any last words?"

As Lantern's head cleared, he said, "Yeah; you can kiss my axe!" His ring created a green battle axe in his hand, and both combatants swung at each other, attempting to overpower the other.

Rex is fighting another group of Thanagarian soldiers using his Funchucks. The hawk soldiers shoot their lasers at Rex, but he easily blocks them with his weapons.

He then ran towards them and begins to knock each and every one of them one by one with ease. He caught right at his eye, grab a female hawk soldier with long red hair and green eyes with mace as he quickly forms his Smack hands and raised his fist.

"Wait." Rex pause as he recognizes her without her helmet, he does recognize her voice.

"Hawkgirl?" Rex asks as he pulls back his fist and puts her down.

"Yes, your name is Rex...Right?" Hawkgirl asks.

"Yeah. What are you doing here?" Rex questioned her.

"I try to make things right," Hawkgirl says as she looks down in shame. "Maybe I may never recover for what I did, but saving this planet is what matters."

Rex understands what she trying to do is to fix a mistake. "Let go." As Rex and Shayera storm off. "But if you double-cross me, you'll be sorry you ever met me."

Shayera nodded as the two went.

As they turned into a corner and were about to rear the Force Field Generator. They saw a group of Hawk Soldiers headed their way. "You go ahead I'll take these guys," Rex shouted.

"What about you? You can't take all of down." a worried Shayera.

"Believe me, I fought a lot more than these guys." Rex as he forms his Punk Buster.

He then proceeds to jump like a rabbit as he jumps on each of them. This causes the Thagarians to be knocked out with extreme forces. Then Rex forms his Block Party as he forms a shield to block more incoming blasts.

"Go, I'll be right behind you," Rex said as Hawkgirl flew away.

Engineer Deck

Green Lantern and Talak still clashing with their axes and Lantern throw a punch at him.

He dissolved his axe and ring blasting him and sending Hro back into the computer console.

He headed towards the Force Field Control as Green Lantern's body was aching he lift his right wrist with his left hand using his power ring fired a focused beam at a point of the force field.

"Big mistake," Hro said as his war axe slash down onto Lantern's power ring, cutting off the front emblem piece ring off at the same his arm is fracturing hurt.

Talak's fist slammed into Lantern's face knocking him down on the ground as Lantern's eyes are closing, blacking out. As Talak raised his axe about to cut Green Lantern's head off.

"Hro! Enough!" Shayera says as she enters the room. "The fight over, you're a soldier, not a murderer."

Talak paused for a moment, then he delivered a backhand, sending her to the ground.

"I'm a fool," Talak shouted. "Forever loving you."

Talak was about to attack her further, but ammo out of nowhere sent him across the room and into a wall. Rex comes in with his Slam Canon on his shoulders. His left fists on crunching as his eye are furious. This is how Thanagarians treated women?

First had been the way that they'd treated Diana, now this? Rex had always known to respect women, and this stood in the face of everything that he'd been raised with. He wasn't going to let this go! Rex proceed to form his Battle Axe as he was ready to take him on and pay for what he has done.

Rex glared at Talak. "Okay, buddy. Let's go!" with a yell, Rex charge at him, axe raised.

Talak flew at the robot teen, low to the ground. Rex swung his Battle Axe, but Talak dodge it with ease as he manage to slice clean through Rex's arm!

"No!" Shayera was still slightly stunned, but seeing the man that she'd once loved to do something so needlessly cruel was too much. She was about to rush into the fight when something amazing happened.

Rex's arm begins to from back to normal, before it forms into Smack Hands. Rex stood up, and smirked as his left arm of the Smack Hand begins to spin into a drill like a machine.

Talak was so stunned that he didn't have time to dodge. The drill of the Smack Hand hit him square in the chest, sending him hurtling to the ground. Rex thought that was the end of it, but Talak got back up, his face full of rage.

Rex figured that he'd have to use something with a little more power. He then got rid of each weapon in his hands as he forms his Funchucks.

Rex slammed them together after spinning them, allowing him to shoot a light blue arc of energy at Talak. This was not what Talak expected as he was once more blasted to the wall causing it to crack.

"Shayera!" he called out. The Thanagarian had been helping Lantern get back to his feet. "See if you can shut down the shield while I keep him busy!"

Shayera and John both nodded. It was now or never.

Watchtower

As the Watchtower entered the Earth's atmosphere, Batman struggled to keep the station on course. Activating his comlink, he radioed Superman.

"We're cutting it a little close." He flinched slightly as a flaming piece of debris fell near him. "Have you shut off the force field?"

Back at the outside of the flagship, Superman shot down another fighter with his heat vision before replying.

"Not yet. Where are you?"

"Aboard the Watchtower." Admitted Batman, "Guiding it to target."

"That's insane!" was Superman's worried response. "Get out of there!"

"Negative. I'm staying." Anything else Batman might have said was lost in static.

"Batman!" Without even a backward glance, Superman flew towards the Watchtower, easily finding it with his enhanced senses, but praying that he would reach it before it was too late.

Engineering Deck

Talak knew that he was outmatched. This robot teen is very powerful. It was probably powerful enough to kill him with ease, but he had a suspicion that the teen was holding back.

"Not going to kill me?" he taunted. "Are you too scared to bloody your hands?"

Rex growled. He was doing his best not to kill him, but this guy just wouldn't stop. Deciding he had enough, he forms his Smack Hands and slammed it on the ground. This causes a mild tremor as it launches Talak in the air. Being quick about it, Rex jumps up in the air and proceeds to punch Talak a couple of times into the ground. Talak tries to get up, but Rex was standing over him as he slams his machine into Talak's face to the ground. He repeats this action a punch of times making sure he is down for good. Seeing that wasn't moving, he stops as he got out of the crater and walk away. But then he heard a groan as Talak got back up again. His was all bruised up as his uniform has cuts and bruised. But it looks like he wasn't ready to give up.

"You're done," Rex told him. "Stand down or you'll regret it."

"Not until one of us is dead!" Talak yells as he grabs an axe and tried to run toward him.

Rex saw this a mile away, as he had enough with him. When Talak was close enough, he dodges the swing as he turns his left hand in a Battle Axe. With his right hand, he grabs Talak using the Smack Hands. Holding him in place, Rex does the unbelievable as he raises his Battle Axe in the air and cuts Talak's left-wing. Severing it from the body as Talak scream in pain. This permanently makes not able to fly anymore as Rex made it impossible. Rex did want to kill him, but he believe this would be a better solution so he won't be much of a threat anymore. Before Talak can scream, even more, Rex punches him again in the head as it finally knocks him out.

After checking to see that he wasn't dead, but still not a threat, Rex turned around.

"Hey!" He shouted. "How's it coming, you two?"

It had been hard for Lantern to draw up enough willpower to crack through the shields of the controls. He was in so much pain, but he managed to push past it, thanks to his training from both the Marines and the Green Lantern Corps.

Once the shield fell, he tried to push the plunger-like device down, but with only one working arm, he wasn't strong enough. That is, until Shayera placed her hand over his, and added her strength to his own. Together, they deactivated the shields around the bypass.

Watchtower

As the fiery remains of the Watchtower plummeted towards the bypass, Batman struggled to remain conscious. The extreme heat of reentry had pushed him to his absolute limit. Sweat rolled off of him in waves, and the only thing that he could still focus on was the targeting path on the computer screen in front of him, which miraculously still worked.

Finally, just when he knew that there was no way that the station wouldn't hit the bypass, did Batman allow himself to pass out.

Fortunately, before the impact, Superman crashed through the walls of the station, and pulled both Batman and the seat he was strapped to, to safety. Seconds after they exited, the Watchtower, home, and base of the Justice League for two years, crashed into the hyperspace bypass.

The entire device, the size of a city, exploded with a force not seen since the atomic bomb was dropped on Japan. Over two hundred miles wide, and nearly twenty miles deep, the crater could be seen from orbit. Superman and Batman, who'd regained consciousness, took a moment to look out over the devastation before the Man of Steel turned to the Dark Knight.

"Always have to be the hero, huh?" Superman asks.

Batman looked at his friend for a moment, before giving a tired smile. "Right back at you."

Rex, Green Lantern, and Shayera looked at the crater that was the hyperspace bypass via a viewscreen in the room. Shayera gave them both a satisfied smile before she looked down at the floor with a sad, guilty expression.

"She's realizing what she's done," thought Rex, "She's betrayed her entire species. What will she do now?"

Further introspection was interrupted by the appearance of several dozen Thanagarian soldiers that flooded the room.

The three prepared to defend themselves when cries of pain from the back of the room caused everyone else to turn. Standing over the unconscious forms of several Thanagarians, bloody, bruised but unbowed, was Wonder Woman!

"Who's next?" she asked, raising her sword. As more of the soldiers began to charge, a voice rang out.

"Stand down!" Charred, bruised, and beaten nearly to a pulp, stood Commander Hro Talak. He looks like he wants to scream in pain, but he somehow managed to hold it back as he was getting used to it. "Lower your weapons." The soldiers quickly obeyed.

"Commander?" one of them asked in shock in furthermore as he saw his leader with one wing.

"Our mission is a failure." Talak went on. "There's no more reason to fight. Let them go." He ignored the incredulous looks from both his soldiers and the heroes and limped over to Shayera. "I hope you're proud of yourself. It'll take years for us to rebuild elsewhere."

Shayera stared at him, unflinching. "Then you'd better get started." With that, she, Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Rex marched out of the room. No one made a move to stop them.

Gotham City: Wayne Manor, The Next Day

Shayera, Ben, and Rex were watching a news report that shows hundreds of Thangarians leaving the planet and The reporter went to thank the Justice League for saving the world.

Ben and Rex are surprised that they give credit to their heroes. Unlike certain reporters in their universes. As Shayera turns off the TV. Ben looked at Rex who sitting on the couch right next to him and Shayera as they had been swapped stories about their missions.

Alfred came and bought them a tray of tea and then he begins to pour tea in their cups. Alfred leaves to prepare for dinner.

Shayera crossed her arms. "They have been in there for a long time."

Rex nodded. "Yes. They have."

Ben add. "I hope everything good is in there."

After a long time of resting and needed food. The rest of the League is discussing by voting of Hawkgirl whether to remain or leave the Justice League. While Ben and Rex introduced themselves and they tell Shayera how the duo arrived from different universes. Shayera still can't believe that Ben start his hero career at age ten, while Rex did it when he was thirteen.

"Shayera, I know this is a hard time for you," Rex tells her. "I understand what you're thought was the right thing. You didn't know what your people were doing." Rex said. "But you did the right thing by saving the entire planet and the lives living on it."

"I'm just gonna say this," said Ben. "If you hadn't made the sacrifices that you made, there's a good chance that we wouldn't be here today to hear that reporter's annoying voice." Shayera gave a weak smile.

Ben put a hand on her shoulder. "Whatever they decide in there, in our eyes, if no one else's, you're a hero."

Shayera gave a smile at the duo.

"She exploited our weaknesses, betrayed us…" Wonder Woman had been ranting about what Shayera had done to them, and by this point had probably repeated several of her own points.

"Come on," Flash said, in Shayera's defense, "she was in the ultimate no-win situation; but when push came to shove, she came through for us, just like always."

"She is a pariah to her people," J'onn added. "We are all she has left."

"Believe me, J'onn, I feel for her," Superman said. "But after everything that's happened, I honestly don't know if I can ever completely trust her again."

Green Lantern looked at the table, silent since the discussion began.

"We're arguing in circles." Said Batman, "It's time to take a vote."

Alfred came to Shayera. "They've sent for you, Miss," said Alfred.

Shayera begins to walk towards to dining room where the Justice League is.

"Shayera" Rex spoke. "Hey whatever happens in there, remember your a hero and always will be."

"If they can't accept you, then who needs them," Ben adds.

Shayera smiled at Rex and Ben as she took a deep breath.

Shayera entered the dining room to find the other six League members standing in a line. All stood with their backs straight and their shoulders squared. Even Green Lantern, whose right arm was in a cast.

"Hawkgirl…" Began Superman.

Shayera interrupted him. "Before you start, I have something to say." She took a deep breath. "I came to this planet as a patriot. I had a mission and I carried it out. What I couldn't know was that I would come to care for the Earth, and her people."

She looked at each of her teammates in the eye; even Batman, who looked at her in suspicion, and Wonder Woman, who still gave her a look of contempt.

"That I'd come to care for all of you. I've spent the last five years torn between my feelings and my duty. I won't ask you to do the same." Her spine straightened, and some of her old fire returned. "Therefore I am resigning from the Justice League, effective immediately."

She turned and walked towards the door, leaving six stunned ex-teammates behind. Flash recovered fastest and stopped her long enough to give her a hug. With that, she let go and walked out the door. She didn't look back.

"Great." muttered Flash. "no Hawkgirl, no Watchtower; what's gonna happen to the League now? Do we all just walk away?"

"No." Martian Manhunter said, "We rebuild. Starting today."

"J'onn's right." agreed Superman. "Earth still needs us, and we'll never let her down. It's our duty."

Green Lantern looked down, still silent.

Ben and Rex stood up when Shayera came back into the living room.

"They kick you out already?" Rex ask

"Dude!" Ben elbowed Rex in the stomach, and he winced.

Shayera shook her head. "No, I resign."

Ben looks toward her. "You didn't know what their vote is?"

Shayera looked at the windows. "No, I think this will be good for me. To find out what I suppose to do. Who am I?"

Ben and Rex looked at her with mixed emotions. In their short time in this universe, They bounded with Shayera and they wish not to see her leave.

She turns to Rex and hugs him. "Good luck out there."

Shayera then gives Ben a hug. "And good luck finding your enemy. I wish you both on that and finding a way home."

She looked at the two teens before going outside. That's when Alfred cleared his voice. "Master Ben, Master Rex. They're ready for you."

"Thank you, Alfred." Ben and Rex walked into the dining room. The Justice League was present, minus Green Lantern.

"Now then," said Superman, "What to do with you two?"

Shayera stood at the edge of the cliff near Wayne Manor. She heard footsteps but didn't turn around. She knew who it was.

"You never asked how we voted."

Shayera barely glanced at John Stewart before returning her gaze to the sunset. "It doesn't matter."

"So… where are you gonna go?"

"I don't know." Said Shayera after a moment. "Someplace where the fate of the world isn't in my hands. Someplace where there are no more secrets, no more lies."

"Was it all a lie?"

Shayera turned to look at the Lantern.

"I love you, John." She said that with a small smile. "I never lied about that."

After a moment of staring into his eyes, Shayera Hol turned around, opened her wings, and flew off into the sunset. John Stewart watched her go, until she was too far to see. Only once she was gone did he allow the tears to fall.

"I love you, too."
