Ep 6, Season 2
Art Of Crime
Synopsis: Batwoman faces off against a new criminal in Gotham stealing valuable art, but once investigating further, circumstances are not as they seem. GCPD and The Crows butt heads over this case while learning about more corruption deeply rooted inside. Meanwhile, Alice comes face to face with The Fearsome Scarecrow.
Disclaimer: Sorry for how this has become my longest chapter yet, wasn't expecting that once I started. I believe this one is around 13k words. Which is insane! (Again, as usual, it's mainly due to the response section) Also, sorry for the last time where I screwed up with centring Batwoman. I was rushing a bit to post it at last and forgot needing to fix that cause it breaks on the switching process. I was also quite tired having 5 hours of sleep that day. (Usually have 9 and I'm still tired a lot) Anyway, hope you enjoy it!
A security guard walked around a rich person's house. They had quite the art collection so getting people to keep an eye out was necessary. It was dark now, late at night. Seemed silent, a nice feeling. Tonight though, something seemed off, a sense. Parts of the walls seemed different, then back to normal. It was very odd. This only continued as randomly one the painting was missing.
One of the guards pulled their gun and started looking around for intruders. "Think we might have a break in here, sector 3 of paintings." They radioed in, looking around suspiciously. Everything seemed suspect to them. In Gotham, it really could've been anything. The guard noticed movement and rushed towards it, finding nothing but the standard colourful walls.
"I'm losing it!" The guard exclaimed, shaking their head, walking away.
Unknown to them, someone was blending in with the wall, having the painting safely on their back. Then changing to whatever background they were in. The figure walked away slowly and went out of the way where they went in. Before they could escape, another guard spotted them.
"Stop right there!" The guard shouted.
The figure leaped out a window and seemed to vanish from the guard's perspective.
"What the! They're gone? How is this possible!" They exclaimed, radioing it in.
Unbeknownst to them, the bandit had escaped by once again blending into the walls and leaving through the front entrance carefully and none the wiser to the guards running around very much confused by whatever just happened.
Batwoman
Staring/Cast
Everyone seen in season 1 or 2, or etc, is the same, including Ruby Rose as Kate Kane.
Vanessa Morgan is Ryan Wilder
Stephanie Beatriz is Renee Montoya.
Grace Gummer is Whisper.
? is Scarecrow. (Idk lol, you reading this can give sugestions if you want or have your own mentel picture)
Jodi Lyn O'Keefe is "Mystery woman." (She'll have a name later) My reason for picking her is due to being in the "Vampire Diaries" for a bit, so CW connection and two, she was very intimating or at least could put you on edge, in "Prison Break." Along with future plans on top of that, which is why I'm giving her an appearance/actress. I think far ahead sometimes, lol.
The "villain of the week" doesn't matter much to me honestly with picking someone.
Shortly later, the GCPD and Crows came along to investigate.
"This is an outrage! A disgrace, I say!" The wealthy owner exclaimed to Jacob Kane. This man was one of the Crows clients who spend a big chunk of money calling them down here to help investigate with GCPD.
"Alright, just calm down. This seems quite important," Jacob said.
"Yes, it is! Someone thought they could break into my home and steal right under my nose like I'm a fool! Won't be having any of that! I want them captured or killed!" The rich cocky sounding man exclaimed.
"Well, sir, that isn't our choice if they're brought in alive or dead," Jacob replied, looking unimpressed.
"Would paying extra convince you into making some different decisions? He asked.
Commander Kane was annoyed. "No. Don't you think for a second that's an option." He declared, walking off, shaking his head.
Meanwhile, Batwoman snuck inside, wanting to investigate herself. Figured she might check something they might have missed. "I've got prints here, all over the walls. Body ones, not fingers. If only it was that easy." Kate said into coms with Luke listening.
"I wonder why they were creeping up against the walls?" He questioned.
Kate pondered this too. "You know, Supergirl told me she faced off against a villain who could blend into shadows. Could this be a metahuman? Something even weirder? Was bound to happen eventually, can't be lucky and face off against just normal creeps for my whole life as Batwoman." She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
"So what? They can turn invisible? Doesn't sound great for you. Though I'm positive, you can still handle them even if you can't see them!" Luke chirped.
"Thanks for the confidence," Kate said, smiling. "Hold on, you got into their coms right, cause they recorded what was radioed."
"Right, they said it was like they disappeared then reappeared?"
"Bringo, meaning it can't be invisibility. Why not keep hidden? Or if it is, then it's limited. It can be countered, which means stopping them won't be hard. Once I find whoever this mystery person is." She sighed. "Would help if the Crows were not still pissed at me. And if GCPD could let me into what there up to, not just their commissioner."
Looking outside, there were many armed people who were not fans of Batwoman waiting for their chances to get a shot at her. They might have been sanctioned by the law but didn't stop being trigger happy.
"Think you could call the commissioner or something like that? Force them to help us catch this guy? We don't know what kind of danger he could pose. To you or the cops for that matter," Luke said, sounding quite nervous.
"Why are you so worried? Besides, he's a thief, I'm sure he won't hide from guards if he was a killer type," Kate replied in response.
"True, I'm going to look up if any other crimes match this mo. I'm sure many art-related crimes will have stealthy and ninja-like criminals committing them. So might be a bit hard cutting this down." Luke admitted.
"Alright then, I'll not be expecting to solve this tonight. Going to head on back." Kate declared and left the home, silently undetected.
"What do you make of this," Jacob asked, coming over to Sophie.
"This case or of this rich jerk, we're helping out for some reason?" She asked sarcastically, clearly not happy about this.
"It's our job. We help who's in need," Jacob replied, shaking his head.
Sophie nodded. "True enough, but this guy just tried spending extra from our thief to get killed. How can we be helping out that kind of client?"
"Part of the job and another part is ignoring slimy scum bags who'd think we're a bunch of payable assassins. We're not animals." He declared.
Another Crow came over with their tablet. "Sir found something. Take a look at this. With these readings, we'll be able to piece together what their body looks like."
"Impressive find Thomson. Send that in now. Looks like we've got ourselves a lead." He said, stating the obvious.
"Shouldn't we share this with GCPD? I thought we're working together on things better now?" Sophie asked, confused.
Jacob took a moment to respond. "I don't find it necessary. We can handle this ourselves. If they found evidence, you know they'd keep it hidden too." He replied, walking off once again while Sophie sighed.
Hours later, once it was daytime, Vesper Fairchild shared about the current goings.
"Lookout and watch out! Seems we've got an art bandit to come to Gotham City! Hours ago, this sneaky thief stole a valuable painting right under the nose of one of the city's elite. A renowned art collector with one incredible collection! Of course, I'm talking about Tom Holmes. If that guy can get stolen from, you better make sure to keep your art safe! Or pay a high price for Crows protection! Something tells me GCPD has enough problems as it is!" She exclaimed.
Kate returned to the Batcave, checking in on what progress Luke had made in searching for them.
"Good morning Kate!" Mary chirped, waiting along inside with Julia too.
"You seem peaky this morning." She said jokingly, walking past her.
Mary laughed. "Well, you know, I have my best bud Julia, still following me nearly everywhere. So happy about it!" She declared sarcastically.
"I appreciate how charmed you are by my presence." Julia retorted back at Mary.
"You know I'm safe here, in the Batcave, something nobody knows about. Well, nobody is evil. That crazy guy dressing like Bruce Wayne has his mind wiped, and Alice is in the wind, assuming he told her. So, no need to stare into the back of my head!"
Julia smirked. "Remember last week, you tricked me into going on a wild goose chase so you could what? Just hang around the Batcave?"
"Mary, that isn't very nice, you know," Kate said in a motherly tone, which was meant to be silly.
"Can't a girl want some alone time?"
"You wouldn't have been alone. You would've been with Luke," Julia replied, crossing her arms suspiciously.
"Being with him is kinda like having alone time. He gets really invested in his work."
"You know I can hear you, right?" Luke said, turning around.
"That is a compliment. How are you doing progress wise anyways?"
Kate smirked and shook her head at Mary walking over to check on Luke. "What did you figure out? Tell me you have something."
He nodded. "Yeah, I got a couple of things. First of all, we've only got one potentially meta-human who could be invisible or at least seem that way. Supergirl encountered someone who could blend in with the dark, but they can't be them judging by the information. The second option, we're dealing with a normal guy."
"Are you assuming it's a guy? Seriously?" Kate asked, crossing her arms unimpressed.
"No! No, the current suspect is this man. Paul Knox. This guy stole himself a suit that fits our criteria. It can blend into any environment. Crazy tech. Like a chameleon!" Luke explained, showing off the details to Kate on the screen.
"I'm thinking we call this guy Chameleon then. Unless that is trademarked." She joked.
"Cool, you have a location?" Mary asked, coming over.
Luke shook his head. "Going off this being our guy, he's not a resident of Gotham. Lived in Bludhaven for a bit, wondering if an old friend might have encountered him." Luke wondered before continuing. "Lived there for a few years. Before that was Coast City, which seemed like his home."
"Sorry, could you please get to the point?" Kate asked.
"Right, so this Chameleon stole this suit about 5 years ago. Since then, there have been crimes related to art theft matching the mo. Down in Bludhaven"
"Why come to Gotham?" Mary questioned.
"Change of scenery?" Luke replied.
Kate looked at the crime listings. "Or he's got a new target that happens to be in Gotham. Holmes. Looking closer at this seems like he's a patent type. Stikes once a year, maybe? Never find the art anywhere, not sold. He's not rich, so the question is, what's he doing with the art? Why not sell it?" She questioned, then headed to suit up.
"Where are you going?" All three people present were asked.
"Something isn't adding up here. I'm going to question Holmes." Kate declared leaving.
Elsewhere, Alice was finally freed from her captivity. To her great annoyance, Scarecrow had kept her locked up for a whole week! Must have been some of his mind games, but she was too strong and smart to get played by someone like him.
"Whatever was the point in keeping me locked away? Do you like wasting time, dear old doctor Crane? My, my, your body won't live forever, old man." Alice said mockingly once freed, which wasn't the best to say to a potential capturer.
"Oh, Alice, you like trying to get me aggressive. I know you have your great memories with you know who. Speaking of which, I was quite surprised to hear how you killed your dear brother. Mouse was it? Guess he was as important as a poor little testing Mouse to you, wasn't he?" Crane replied, trying to get under her skin too.
"Speaking of Mouse, your not so helpful helper claimed you stole his body. Or at least found it." Alice said, looking unimpressed.
He stared at her for a moment. "Well, she might have over-exaggerated. I doubt you'll be seeing him again, disposed of him."
"How do I know you're not telling me lies? Monsters like lies." She said, annoyed.
"Come now, I'm not a monster. I'm an experimenter like science and testing. Oh, and can't forget about peeking inside the minds of interesting people. Or very ill."
"You would know, being as wicked as you are," Alice replied, rolling her eyes.
He shook his head. "Not nice. Don't make me-"
She cut him off. "Enough of your empty threats, if you were going to kill me, harm me. You would've by now. Is that why you left me locked up? Considering your most logical options? You always liked having a big brain. So you know I'm useful, and what I'm offering could work, revenge on Gotham."
Crane stared at her for a moment. "Fine, you win. Caught me, I do think having you could greatly benefit, working together." He admitted.
"Smart move, with you toxin Batwoman won't know what hit her."
The woman entered the room, looking over at Crane. "Allow me to step out for a moment. I'll assume you won't touch anything." He said, glaring at her and walking off with the woman, keeping their voices down.
"You should know me better than that. Of course, I'll be touching things." She whispered, then got up, looking around.
Batwoman meanwhile did as she said, visiting Tom Holmes creeping inside of his home. Seemed like he didn't get the clue of up security, perhaps figured it was a one-day robbery. Or his teams were just that bad at their jobs. Some were Crows even. She stepped up behind him. "We need to have a little chat."
The man jumped. "What the! Another freak! Get out!" He exclaimed.
"You should be more thankful. I'm looking for the thief." She replied, rolling her eyes.
"I would be thankful if he were dead!"
"Not that kind of person," Kate responded, tightening her eyes and face.
"Perhaps you should be and can be well paying, you know!"
She got closer. "Listen, unless you change your attitude, I'm considering dropping my looking into all of this. Maybe someone like you deserves losing a valuable piece like that." She said, smirking at him.
"Fine, what do you want to know?" He asked, sighing and breathing in.
"Where do you get that painting? Something tells me it wasn't brought in legal means."
He scoffed. "You think I'd buy stolen art? Did you hear about anything in my vast collection being reported as robbed paintings? I've had many people look at them all and admire them. Someone would've noticed after all these years." He expressed.
"Okay, why would someone want to take this one in particular?"
He rolled his eyes, which didn't impress her. "I've told GCPD and Crows my story. I don't feel like doing it for a crazy masked person thank you very-"
Kate pulled him to the ground while a few shots were fired.
"What was that!" He exclaimed.
"Someone seems to want you dead." She expressed getting up and quickly spotted Chameleon was in the room with the gun, one that blended in as well. Kate charged at him and knocked it away.
"You're not part of this, back off Bat!" He exclaimed, cracking his knuckles.
"You're out of your depth here. You're the one who should back off. It's over." She declared, kicking him into the wall.
Chameleon then ran off and jumped out the window.
"Nice try!" Kate exclaimed, chasing after him. Being observant, she quickly spotted him trying to escape into a more density treed area. With that, she was hot on his tail, getting into the greenish area. Finding him was a hella lot harder now. This worked for this advantage as he got the drop on Batwoman, putting a rope around her throat.
"You're making a huge mistake here! I'm not the bad guy!" He exclaimed.
"Says the person trying to strangle me!" She said, getting choked and was able to get him off, kicking until he let go for even a moment. Kate then creaked him across the face. "You're a criminal, simple as that."
"You're wrong about that!" He exclaimed and ran, disappearing once again. This time, however, Kate couldn't find him.
"Great, he escaped." She remarked aloud to herself.
Shortly later, Tom Holmes was taken in by GCPD. Commissioner Renee Montoya felt like integrating the man herself, wanting to get some answers.
"It's about time you start explaining why a guy who can turn invisible steals from you and wants you dead. Got it on good authority from an ally you're hiding something from us." She said, staying up crossing her arms.
"Not a clue. You know some people can just be jealous of me and hate me just cause I've got more money than they ever will!" He exclaimed, surprised by this.
"How charming, can't see why anyone would want you dead." Said Renee sarcastically.
"I know! It's ludicrous! Madness even!" He exclaimed, clearly too stupid to pick up on her obviously sarcastic tone.
Renee sighed. "Can you give any reason why someone would want you dead?"
He scoffed. "Do I have to repeat myself over and over again? By the way, haven't you asked for the details of what I've already told your officers?"
"Yes. Wanted to hear it again."
"Well, that's not happening. You're wasting my time! I miss Forbes."
"Really now? You want to explain that?" She asked, figuring he wouldn't, but why not try.
Holmes looked annoyed. "Forbes, unlike you, would've caught this guy and punished him accordingly. We had an understanding. One I know wouldn't be had with someone like you." He explained to Renee's surprise.
She waited a moment before responding. Inside she was boiling with anger. Holmes was too dumb or didn't care to clue into this naturally. Adding to this upset feeling, it seemed his lawyer had come.
"Now, please leave so I can speak in privacy."
"Why call a lawyer if you're so innocent?" She asked curiously.
He pulled at his collar. "Best to be safe, then sorry, getting pinned with something I didn't do. Forbes made sure I was protected from that nonsense. For a price, of course. This is off the record, right?"
Renee twitched her eyes and went to leave. "We're going to keep you put a little longer, you know, for safety." She said sarcastically.
"Wait! The Crows will protect me! I don't want to sit in this dump! I've paid for their security! You can't do this!" He exclaimed.
Renee shrugged. "Might take some time to confirm all your saying, so you know." She smiled to herself and left.
Meanwhile, Alice was going against as told, looking around The Scarecrow's home as it seemed. It was odd, some parts were messy, and some were spotless. One highlight was he had two boards about the different bats that plagued Gotham City.
Batman, Bruce Wayne, had more placed on his board than Kate's. Fair enough, considering all of his time as the Dark Knight of Gotham. Many things were established, all newspaper clippings, large events in his history and weak points. All ending with when he vanished, it seemed like Crane didn't know what happened to drive him away. Nor did Alice, but she had an educated guess, unlike the doctor it appeared.
For Batwoman, he chronicled her start point and most recent takedowns, which of course, included Hush and those mysterious masked men. Saw herself on the board seemed to be peacing together that Batwoman was Kate, considering somethings that didn't make sense to outside viewers that might have been paying attention.
She continued looking around. "Ah! Classic weapon of choice. Always with the theatrics. A coward." She remarked upon seeing his large scythe.
"Always liked it, surprised you don't. Using that butterfly knife of yours." He remarked, creeping up on her.
"You can't help trying to scare me, huh?" She sighed. "I do prefer knives, but not because of you in case you wondered in your sick mind."
"Really now? Wonder I do. Where do you learn about their usefulness?"
"A woman, one who'd kill you without a second thought. Dare I say I'm more scared of her than you." She said coldly, staring at him.
"Sounds like a fascinating woman." He remarked.
"She's not and not one you'd enjoy. Would find you revolting, believe me." She said, walking away from him.
Renee went out onto the roof of GCPD, going to meet with Batwoman, who was waiting around wishing to speak.
"You enjoy meeting that ball of sunshine?" Kate asked sarcastically.
"Yeah, wonderful guy. Sometimes having an obligation to help people sucks. Not always the best." She replied, shaking her head, sounding sarcastic, but a little hard to tell.
"Tell me about it," Batwoman said, standing beside her. "Guessing he didn't say anything useful?" Kate asked.
"Of course, he didn't. Mentioned Forbes being dirty, not a big surprise. Can't do too much with it, didn't give specific examples of crap he pulled." Renee said, disappointed.
"Well, I've got a name. Could that help with the investigation? Kate asked, somewhat sarcastically.
"Please do."
"Paul Knox," Kate declared. "Researched about him, positive he's the suspect. Didn't seem like a murderer. Figured if someone like him was killing people, there'd be more info out. He's been active for years." She expressed, wondering.
Renee thought for a moment. "Typically, in my experience, criminals don't change out of the blue. Could be somebody else, or our sweetheart rich boy could be hiding some dark secrets. Big surprise there." She said sarcastically.
"Doesn't help if he won't start spilling. I'm going to guess you won't allow me to question him more aggressively?" She asked, already pretty much knowing her response.
"No. Though, he'll be out sooner than later with his money. How much are you willing to bet he'll be heading somewhere incriminating? Doesn't seem like a bright tool."
"Good point, commissioner."
Renee then looked down from the roof, seeming to get a feeling. "You might wanna hide again. Looks like the Crows are here. Money can get a lot. Including The Crows watching your six, it seems like." Renee remarked, turning around, seeing Batwoman was gone once again. "Should've figured."
Alice stood outside on the porch. "Your home is so bland." She remarked, scoffing, unimpressed with his place of residence still.
"Can you say something, not an insult?" Crane asked, continuing to follow her around.
"It's quite difficult, with the likes of you. You're a classic monster. Still bewildered how you could ever have a follower or something that enjoys the idea of having your presence." She declared mockingly.
He didn't respond to what she said, clearing his throat. "Why do you want Batwoman dead? Or rather broken so badly? Makes a man like myself most interested. Batwoman, Kate Kane. Your dear sister, who you have a vendetta against, who you want to suffer due to her great byatral. What are the odds she'd be your greatest enemy? The bat protecting Gotham City from dangers like us. Quite unlucky, wouldn't you say?" He said mockingly.
Alice stood up, furious. "How did you figure it out! Who told you!?" She exclaimed.
"I have eyes and ears everywhere, Alice. Discovering her identity was easy." He explained, sounding pleased with himself.
"Oh doctor, that is valuable information. It would be best to shut anyone up permanently if they've got a little bit of loose lip." She expressed, smirking.
He laughed. "Well, considering I lied and don't have any ears out in Gotham, that would mean killing you. Which I don't feel like doing at the moment."
"What! You tricked me?"
"Yes, I did. To be fair to yourself, I guessed it was Ms. Kane but didn't have concrete evidence if that makes you feel any better." He joked.
She laughed sarcastically. "Should've expected something like that from you, a liar and manipulator. Monster of a man. I do wonder how you have this woman as your assistant. Nobody with freewill would work for you."
"You'd be surprised." He replied, glaring at her. "Some people enjoy my charm. In truth, she didn't want to have fear anymore. It hurt her, caused her trouble. When afraid or gassed with my toxin, she'd instantly kill anything in sight like a wild animal trying to fight for life. Quite fearful, actually. I've helped her improve. Grow. You wouldn't understand. Little Johnny and your other little friend couldn't grasp my help." He expressed with his eyes seeming to darken.
Alice scoffed at him and walked away once more, annoying the man considerably.
Jacob and Sophie entered GCPD with a bunch of other Crows too.
"This all seems unnecessary," Sophie whispered, looking around.
"He's paying top dollar, one of the biggest payout we've ever gotten here. Not like we have a choice, thanks to Batwoman." He declared, frowning.
"She's helping people, for free, not having to worry about money. We help people based on their money it seems sometimes." She replied.
Jacob looked away. "That's true. Our people are not as privileged as Batwoman. When her time comes, she'll see what's to come." He muttered.
She didn't hear his remark. Likely wouldn't have known what it meant anyway.
Renee Montoya approached them. "Let me guess, you're taking him into your protection, right?" She asked, crossing her arms.
"Correct. Do I need to remind you that I have the a-"
"I'm aware, commander," Renee said, rolling her eyes and cutting him off. "Please, bring him out so the Crows can deal with him. You should know, someone who can blend into environments is-"
Now Jacob cut her off. "I'm aware commissioner, quite frankly, I feel we've got more information than you do. We started hunting down Paul Knox. The suspect."
"What happened to working together?" She questioned, aggravated.
"Working together is overrated. We've got ourselves a client and heard you seem to dislike this man, which is highly unprofessional." He expressed.
Renee scoffed, annoyed. "We've got reason to suspect he's a criminal."
"And we've got reason to not assist you for giving false claims here," Jacob replied, spotting the man and motioning his people to retrieve him.
"Fine, Kane, he's your problem now. Would recommend keeping both eyes opened with him," Montoya expressed, putting her hands up and walking away.
Sophie shook her head at Jacob. "We shouldn't be butting heads with GCPD like this, sir!" She expressed, trying to keep her voice down.
"Can it Moore. We're leaving."
Sophie looked back at Montoya, who was glaring at her, knowingly.
Batwoman watched as the Crows put him into their truck, starting to head off.
"Looks like Montoya was correct," Kate remarked and began following them, seeming like they were heading to a different location. Not the mansion and not Crows HQ. Perhaps it was a safe house, which she figured wouldn't do much good having something who could blend in like a chameleon could still sneak in without much issues.
She continued following them to where it appeared she was correct, finding a safe house. Didn't seem to be one made by Crows, as a bunch of thugs were hanging around. You could always count on The Crows, never being able to bend in too well, always wearing fancy clothing even when undercover.
She used her tech to listen in.
"This is your safe house?" Jacob Kane asked, confused.
"Yes, I need all the help I can get. Now that an assassin is hunting for me." He expressed, unhappy putting his hands on his hips and then walked inside with all of his guards with a few Crows accompanying him.
"Could we just leave him?" Sophie asked silently.
"No, we can't. Let's just keep an eye out front. Have to admit, not liking how our people seem so comfy with him." He remarked, looking suspicious.
Batwoman listened in and glided down onto the safehouse's roof. "Seems like they're not paying enough attention," She declared to Luke. "I've got a feeling he's planning on killing Knox here," She continued saying.
"Let me guess you're going to let that happen?"
"Great guess," She expressed, busting the door open, heading inside but stopped for a moment. Now realizing someone was with her, on instinct, she knocked down the person creeping around her. "Knox."
It was indeed him, trying to sneak inside himself. "So, you know the truth, then?" He asked, getting defensive.
"No, start explaining why you want him dead. Not going to let you off the hook that easy!" She explained, pushing against the wall.
"Alright, alright. This guy is a criminal! Worse than I ever am! Just wanted to steal his painting. I knew he stole it from some nobody. Someone he had killed. Then I learnt more than I ever should've. Never tried taking a life, but this guy, he made me reconsider everything."
"What did you find? Tell me!" Batwoman asked, threatening him significantly.
Downstairs, Jacob and Sophie entered the building, not feeling comfortable with this whole situation. They kept on their guard before being stopped by one of their own people.
"Hey, boss. What are you doing inside?" The Crow asked, clearly on edge.
"Could be asking you the same damn thing. You seem a little twitchy. Weber." Jacob replied, glaring at him, highly suspicious.
Sophie looked around, seeing a bunch of the thugs looking around too. She looked over at Jacob with a look conveying information.
"Think we should be heading back outside. Never can be too safe." Jacob said, lowering his poster into a less aggressive form.
Before they could exit, one of the thugs snapped and held them at gunpoint, blocking the door. "You're going anywhere!" They expressed their surprise.
"The hell you think you're doing, man!" Crow named Weber exclaimed.
"They knew something was up! We gotta ice them, man!"
"Oh jeez, bring em downstairs. He's going to be pissed about this."
Batwoman finished listening to Knox's story. "You get all of that, partner?" Kate asked Luke, trying to avoid speaking his name.
"Yeah, can't believe what we're dealing with here," Luke expressed, shocked completely.
"Come on, we're working together now. Promise no guns, no killing. Take this jerk down without being like him," Kate said, staring at the man, who nodded.
Together with her temporary ally, they went downstairs going to confront the real criminal. The scumbag who didn't so many unspeakable things.
He went. First, she had to admit, his sneaking was better than her with that super suit of his, a cheat. A respectable one.
Batwoman followed along as they got down into the lobby area, finding a bunch of thugs. She cracked her knuckles. "Allow me. I've got this."
She then entered the room, proceeding to attack the goons, fighting them off one by one with hardly any issue. Knox entered the room and took one down who seemed to be heading towards an alarm. While he did, Kate continued tossing around the thugs and beating them down. All the while, Crows sat outside oblivious. It then accorded to Kate one of these thugs was, in fact, a Crow, one who now needed to be questioned.
"I'm going to guess you're dirty," Kate declared, pressing into his throat.
The man nodded quickly and waved his hands up. This made her loosen up her hold. "I'll tell you everything! Just promise I'll get less jail time if you stop them from killing the commander and agent, Moore!" The man exclaimed, pleading.
Kate looked furious and grabbed him again. "Where are they!"
Downstairs in the secret basement of Tom Holmes, he was disappointed to find his guards and that dirty Crow Weber bringing down two people.
"Damn. The gig is up, eh?" Holmes questioned, pouting.
"We had no choice boss could tell they knew something was up!"
Holmes shook his head. "Well, it was bound to happen at some point!"
"You won't be getting away with this. My people are going to blow this place sky high even if you kill me. Which I wouldn't recommend if you plan on making it out in one piece," Jacob began expressing.
"Well, I hate to inform you. I'm not planning on going to jail. Once you two are dead, nobody will know what happened. I'll leave and continue my life perfectly fine. The beauty of being rich as heck."
"Why are you doing this?" Jacob questioned angered.
"Yeah, why don't you explain before you kill us. You know, you're in control after all," Sophie said, joining, catching what Jacob was thinking. Appeal to his ego.
He laughed. "I knew my life here was in trouble, ever since that invisible man or whatever he was stole from me. That painting, it was special. Not for continental reasons, of course. No, I had a painting commissioned. Doesn't seem like much, but it told the story of a rich man conquering the world with his wealth and intelligence, right under the noses of all the sheep. My friends and I connected with it naturally. You people don't know anything, our painter made multiple copies. All with minor differences, I was the only one who showed it off in public. This dude here, yeah, he must have found it. Tracked down the lines of bodies."
"Boodies?" Jacob asked, interrupting the story.
"Yes, oh yeah. Had to keep our artist a secret, had to kill anyone who ever met e'm. Pretty difficult in some places, but that was years ago once we started cleaning our tracks. Quite frankly, I think our guy here found my records stuffed inside of the painting. Which is why he tried having me killed. You wouldn't believe what I've done and gotten away with." He laughed again.
Unknown to him, Batwoman sneaked inside along with Knox, listening in and recording everything he had been saying. "I've heard enough," She declared, tossing smoke bombs into the center of the room, giving Jacob and Sophie time to attack the guards. Together the three of them beat down on the guards.
Holmes ran off into a storage room, Batwoman followed in pursuit. "It's over! You're not getting out of here until I drag you out!" She exclaimed determinedly.
"Not quite, hero!" He retorted, revealing a flame thrower of all things and began shooting out fire in her direction. "Burn, freak!" He shouted, laughing.
Batwoman tucked for cover. "Luke, can this thing take fire damage? Never really had to test that before," She asked curiously.
"Fire?! What's happening?"
"Oh, you know, crazy rich guy, flamethrower," Kate expressed with a tremendous amount of sarcasm, moving out of the way of the heat again as he approached closer.
"Right, don't take it directly. Your face isn't fully protected! The cape should minimize the heat incoming, the suit should be able to handle some at least.
"Noted," She replied, trying to get around him, sneaking up from behind. While she did, Sophie peaked in through the door and started firing at him. As he revealed to have a shield that opened once bullets came his way, this didn't work.
"And they said this was a waste of money!" He exclaimed proudly.
"What the heck is that?" Sophie questioned.
Batwoman took all this confusion to strike, knocking away the flamethrower. Now getting knocked back by the shield. This loser getting a blow in felt embarrassing. However, it was clear what he was using seemed like a similar model of shield one of Supergirl's allies "Guardian" used. Obviously, it wasn't the same, and she had a good feeling it wouldn't be as strong either in theory.
She reached for the flamethrower and used it right back at him, burning up the shield, which couldn't take the heat as well it seemed.
"No!" He exclaimed and went to reach for another one of these weapons, but Sophie managed to tackle him before he could, knocking him to the ground.
"Game over, rich guy!" She exclaimed. "Wow, that was bad." She then expressed, feeling a bit embarrassed about that being what popped into mind first.
"Thank you for the help, agent Moore," Batwoman said gratefully.
Upstairs, Jacob had taken the initiative to arrest Knox, who had revealed himself to help out in the fight above. Now more Crows were inside and taking away the dirty ones in their ranks who just showed themselves.
"Your dirty digresses to everything we stand for! You're all going into cells for the rest of your miserable lives. Mark my words, you use scum!" He exclaimed, shouting at the three dirty Crows.
They didn't say anything, just getting dragged away with heads down.
Sophie came out from downstairs in the storage room at last.
"Where's the bat?" Jacob asked, raising an eyebrow.
She hesitated. "Escaped, gone. Batwoman took down Holmes, tied up."
"Good," He motioned a bunch of his people to go grab him.
"Batwoman also expressed how Knox here was willingly going to give himself up and how we should check his collection here, has dangerous tech, " She expressed.
"Fine. She seemed to say a lot before her departure,"
Sophie shrugged. "She talks fast."
Meanwhile, the guards started bringing Holmes away. "You won't get away with this! I've got powerful friends! Those who will make you pay and free me!" He exclaimed confidently, shaking to break free.
"Hold," Jacob said, putting his hand up. "What friends? Start talking!"
"Never mind, they'd not appreciate gossip. Very secretive," He said mockingly.
Jacob grunted. "Get him out of my sight."
"Hopefully, he will explain how he got 3 of our own people to turn on everything they've believed in," Sophie remarked, shaking her head.
"These scumbags clearly only believed in money. Can't help wondering now, how much corruption do we have in our ranks without even realizing it?"
"That's a good question, sir. Maybe you should focus more on that instead of your vendetta with Batwoman," She suggested.
He didn't respond and walked away.
Elsewhere outside, Batwoman had planted a bug on that rich jerk. This allowed listening in, just in case he spilled anything important. She did hear some of what Sophie and Jacob said due to this. For some rich douchebag, it was disturbing hearing about all the crimes just this loser had a hand in without any remorse, all for bigger gain or some sick enjoyment, it seemed.
Renee Montoya seemed to have gotten tipped off about what happened and arrived with some officers. She decided to check up on her discreetly.
"Disappointing you and the commander was not here, to begin with," Kate remarked.
She scoffed. "His mistake, that put lives in danger. Believe me, I'm going to give him the riot act for this. At least we're sending both crocks to jail."
Batwoman cleared her throat. "You should know something about Knox. Hate to admit it, but he helped out here. Will give evidence on our rich boy apart from all you've got now. He wanted to make clear, too, all his crimes have been stealing from the rich, who stole all their paintings or got them through illegal means. It's still wrong, but figured you should know. One last thing, he said he's got a partner. Not in Gotham, but still out there."
She nodded. "Thanks for the tip, Batwoman. I'll see to it he'll get lighter sentencing." Renee then smirked. "Going to take a guess you brought down richy yourself, huh? Even if they won't give you credit."
Kate laughed slightly. "Being truthful, agent Moore helped a little and quite frankly, I'm happy if she gets the credit for this takedown. Win for one of the good ones, right?"
"Right you are Batwoman, right you are."
Holmes was shoved into a GCPD van, getting sent away to lockup. Naturally, things were not as simple as that. A few blocks into the drive, they pulled into an alleyway. The doors then opened up, and a jamming device was turned on. Which ruined Batwoman's listening device.
"It's about time! I was getting worried!"
A man got into the van, and a couple of cops helping for transport got out. More dirty ones, big surprise for Gotham.
"Why didn't you leave Gotham? Or inform us that you were under investigation? Whatever were you thinking in that thick empty skull?" The man asked.
"You dare insult me? If they heard-"
He scoffed. "They can and can see." He expressed, pointing at himself.
"What is this?"
"Why, you're going away party, of course."
Holmes looked bewildered. "What are you talking about?"
"Your friends wanted me to inform you, the membership is over. And they regretted it. Ultimately, they felt bitty for you. Wanted to give you this out of respect for your father. But you have screwed up badly, and we can't accept this. Or the possibility of you speaking about anything secret."
"No! I would never!" He exclaimed.
"Yeah, your right. Honestly, most of them just find you annoying and silly. They always knew you were the weakest link. The joke is over, along with your life," The man explained, shrugging and jabbing a needle into him. "That is poison. They will learn it worked like cyanide capsules, you know, like classic spy stuff. Just more hidden and on a timer. Couldn't have been known about. Goodbye," The man said, walking away.
Holmes slumped over, dead a moment later. Then the cops got back into the van and continued driving to HQ, now radioing something had gone wrong with the prisoner.
Kate returned to the Batcave, finding everyone as she left them.
"Welcome back!" Mary exclaimed happily.
"Thank you, another crime solved and another baddie put away for life," She expressed, feeling pretty good about stopping Holmes and bringing in Chameleon as they called him. Even if he didn't turn out to be a monster, still best having another criminal off the streets of Gotham in her eyes.
"Well, actually, Luke's got something to share with you, Luv," Julia said, rubbing the back of her head softly.
"Yeah, rich douche died in custody. Seems to have been poisoned."
Kate shook her head. "Another example of that corruption Ryan talks about. Something tells me dirty cops shut him up. He had Crows on his payroll. I'd expect cops too."
"Speaking of that Ryan girl, I think she called. You left your phone, and I just so happened to see she called."
"Just so happened to see, huh? No, snooping?"
"I would never! Right, Julia? Luke?" Mary replied, crossing her arms and tilting her head back to look at them.
They looked away and pretended to do something else.
Kate smirked and shook her head. "Whatever, I'm just itching to push back against all this corruption. It's about time for Gotham to learn I won't stand by and let this happen. Hope Ryan will help me, can use all the help we can get, right?"
The team nodded.
"At least my clinic isn't corrupted or all the wonderful work you do!" Mary said, trying to look on the bright side.
"True, just can't help but want to save this city now I know it's doing a lot worse than initially thought. Can't shake that feeling."
"You're starting to sound like Bruce now," Julia pointed out.
Kate laughed softly. "Hope that is not a bad thing."
"Not at all. Bruce cared a lot about Gotham, you know. Just don't let that consume you like it did him. He could get a little obsessive about it. I remember my father telling me many stories and many long nights," She said, nodding.
"Same from my dad. He admired how much Bruce cared, why he helped him throughout his crusade until the end. Guessing I'm just like dad in that way," Luke expressed.
Kate nodded. "I'm lucky to be surrounded by a good team."
Elsewhere, Alice finally sat down at the table in the kitchen once more. Feeling content with all her snooping around of Crane's hideout. It was time for her plan to be discussed at long last.
"We need to return to Gotham. It's time you show them the nature of fear, and I'll finish them off. And Batwoman too. Doesn't that sound good?"
Crane twitched his eye. "That's your plan? Must be some sort of joke, pathetic."
"Come on, it's a skeleton plan. Not a real one, I'm not an idiot. Together with our brains, we can put together a real one. Batwoman and Gotham won't know what hit them with your toxin! She'll be nothing but a broken mess trembling in fear, Kate, daddy dearest, her replacement of me, Gotham and maybe for good measure get rid of that woman who isn't too happy with me. Doesn't that sound lovely?"
"For you, perhaps, what is in for me? You seem to forget about that. I know you have a clever response in mind."
Alice laughed. "Of course, you would have a grafting feeling in bringing Gotham to its knees. Your problem was you never had a mad genius helper. And, if Gotham is without its guardian, you can do whatever the hell you'd want! How does that sound!?"
"Delicious!" He replied happily.
"Good, so we agree. Gotham is about to pay dearly," Alice declared, smirking sinisterly.
Batwoman
So, next up is Scarecrow and Alice's return to Gotham, something tells me Ryan won't be too happy. The Crows and GCPD going to have to get there act together to stop this threat hopefully for their shake. It seems the dirt runs deep in Gotham, I wonder what's going on there? (That's going to take a long while until everything becomes clear, consider that long running question thoughout the series maybe?)
Response to C.G (This is going to be my longest response yet, lol)
How Luke's talk About Jason Should Have Probably Happened in Chapter 5 (I agree, was likely better this way, sorry)
(Sorry for starting with this one first. The rest is in order. Just was utterly floored by this one, wow!)
Okay, wow again. I was not expecting this. I'm impressed, just not sure how to handle this. Your dialogue was good, and I want to incorporate all that. My issues are, however, I already had to reload it. I'm reasonably sure having the same chapter appear a third time would piss people off ): I've done that a bit now, and more people are reading/following now. Next, I kinda just don't want to make a habit of doing this (fixing stuff in post multiple times). I do like it but can admit it's got a lot of explaining the past and info-dumping at once. (Mine has info-dumping too, just not as much I find) Overall it's good, more creatively written than I did with it. Kinda in part of trying to keep in like the show without exterior details expressed not by the characters on "screen."
Part of me wants to rewrite all of that into it. Another thinks I could retroactively have Luke elaborate more about Jason when Kate gets closer to bringing in Ryan. He didn't say Jason was "dead." Well, stayed dead. I feel like he's hiding a lot about Bruce's past, which he doesn't like talking about. So he could mention more about Red Hood, all that past, along with the other Robins and Talla incident later. Idk, I'm just so conflicted, and it's hard having to think about this without being able to ask until I post, which could cause damage for the future of the series. Or I could have to recon stuff, which I already basically am.
Ultimately, I wish it was possible to communicate easier or share more before the posting happens. Feel bad about screwing things up and having to fix it in post. If I knew for a fact it didn't affect anyone else, I would feel better about the fixing in post. Hopefully, this can improve in the future. I'll try my hardest to fix things with Jason and all the other stuff. I feel bad for not getting it right.
(Last random thing, if you can think of a better title, I'm all for that. I'll repost this one at least once to fix anything, which I meantion might not happen as much in the future. Just was stuggling badly with a title name here)
(Now responding in order and sorry how long this is)
Hello, I was perfectly happy with the multiple posting, even if I did end up going back, fixing things and fixing/changing stuff for the future. Overall, I think it's for the best. You don't have to apologize.
Wisdom Teeth – Oh, that is interesting. I wasn't given a choice. I don't even know if they took out all 5. (Tho the 5th might be just a huge one, not a clue). My mouth is pretty numb still, but at least I'm doing better about 24 now. Pain meds are helping, lol. Tho doesn't feel like it makes a huge difference. Also, I'm not able to eat, which is perfectly fine for me.
About Scarecrow - Yes, sorry, I tried fixing it. My intention was posing he attacked, and Batman was able to stop him before causing too much damage. However, considering it was still a last attack from him, he wasn't prepared to stop him, which resulted in Ryan's mom's death. She died because nearly everyone else was being a coward in the hospital, not wanting to stand up to the "freak." Her breaveier saved people, but couldn't save her. Ryan wouldn't have known or Kate, but it hurt Bruce not being able to stop this attack in time before her death. It was kinda hinted, but not made clear, which I guess is my fault. It was an Arkham breakout, meaning multiple crimes were happening likely. Hopefully, that makes sense, sometimes expressing what's in my head is hard onto the "paper" without full context is possible. My mistake overall, I think, could've written it better, but I do believe her death was selfless with the main point which will come back around for Ryan to understand. (Might have shared more than necessary, lol)
About Ryan's age - I thought about making her young, but I wondered if her mom's death would've been as impactful at 4-5. She wouldn't have many memories, idk. Ultimately, I changed it to be ambiguous, which I should've done. Speaking of which, lol.
About Jason Todd – That's fair. I got rid of the dates and changed the dialogue a bit. Shouldn't have made it seem like him killing Jason was what made him cross the line. It wasn't my intention. My thinking was, Jason was the last Robin (Which I will change, why I got rid of the date), so once Joker began his final assault, this and everything else would've made him snap. (I'm changing that tho cause of all you have shared now below. Sorry about that)
Batman and Robin Timeline – Okay, you are right. I was thinking about creating a timeline, which was what the dates were for. So, my thought process was in season 1 of Batwoman, it seems like Batman just had one Robin, so I thought having Jason would be stretching it. Of course, I'm fine, basically tossing out what I thought cause the Batwoman writers, I genuinely believe, just made up Batman's timeline as they went along, not having a throughline or caring about it.
Figured to readers didn't care about Batman, guess I was wrong again there. I'm perfectly happy giving Batman a timeline for real, having 4 Robins and Batgirl, of course. (I think the copying a wiki article during that whole journal shenanigans shared they don't care) Reading the Arrowverse Wiki for Batman is a mess, honestly, which gave me some of these issues. It's all over the place. Arrow and Batwoman give so many conflicting statements. (Like how I remember one idea for Arrow's endings was having Oliver inspire the creation of Batman, which gives me nightmares lol)
Overall, that was all to say. Thank you for sharing, and I will clean up the timeline. It's mind-blowing how much more thought you've put into it than them. Thank you for caring so much. Helps my caring too.
Batman vs. Joker Final Battle Theory - Yes, I thought so. This was my idea for the most part. (I guess my concern/ithy part is only how doesn't anyone mention this? Idk just seems like Batwoman's Gotham is pretty tame, which sucks, but whatever. I'm fine with doing this)
Cornering these 3 stories, I do know them all and was around for all of them issue to issue and a bunch of tie ins. Death of The Family was one of the first modern Batman comics I read. Which honestly wasn't a great first impression for someone who doesn't like gore and horror lol. Thank you for the reminders tho. I do appreciate the clarification and quick explaining of them. (Also, a little hint for the future, I do have plans for his cut off face)
I can agree that being a good enough reason for Batman killing/leaving the Joker for dead. Makes sense why she isn't around and why he'd be so broken now. Does suck a little, but it's mentent to be a tragic conclusion, of course. (Still, I guess I'm just kinda sad cause poor Bruce and Selina to have been screwed over so hard in the comics. Tom King's run sucked) Anyways, I think that I'll be going with Batman leaving him for dead and the body not being found. It will initially move, leaving him for dead, unlike in the event where he had to choose between Harley and him.
"What likely happened to the rest of the Bat-Family during this event?"
I'd say these are pretty great guesses.
Dick Grayson – I think that would work to explain why he's not around, and I've enjoyed Punchline so far, would be happy using her (Works for a future storyline, too...). Right about KGBeast, it wouldn't make sense in CW, and I'm happy Anatoly never became straight-up evil. I honestly hate the whole "Ric" thing. Still, I think it works here cause Nightwing would've surely returned to Gotham with Batman gone and the mysterious Batwoman.
Jason Todd – That could work. I'm fine with that happening. If I can fit it in, I'll surely do that.
Barbara Gordon – Makes sense she would be an exciting idea of killing her brother in self-defence. Can for sure see that causing her trauma and needing support never wanting to return to Gotham too.
Tim Drake – I do like that idea. It was an insane twist and made sense of how that was the final confrontation in the DCAU. Very iconic. As much as I'd like to do it, I feel like giving a little break for Bruce/the family. Seems like that, and all the above-mentioned would've surely made him snap badly. So, when this will be mentioned, I'll go with option two, I think.
Damian Wayne – That would make perfect sense for his character.
Alfred Pennyworth – That would make sense. I think Alfred would've left into the unknown with Bruce, which is why Julia hasn't mentioned where he is. (Or the writers didn't know about that...let's go with the first thing, lol)
Jim Gordon - I figured that as much too.
Ryan Wilder's Unofficial/Probationary Superhero Costume Suggestion – I'm a little confused why this is unofficial, and the other is? Would this be her personally made suit? Other would be the final form or an improved one? I get what you're going for with it and will for sure go with that if I'm understanding correctly.
Ryan Wilder's Official Superhero Costume Suggestion – That sounds like a pretty fantastic idea too. Again, assuming I understand both these can/will happen.
I think that bo staff would be good too, my thinking would be Kate showed off she had one but didn't seem to like it much? Idk. The point is she could suggest Ryan should use it, and she'd quite enjoy it. The blocking bullets would be impressive, too, assuming she has less protection than Batwoman. Also, if Nightwing might ever get his memories back, it could feel redundant. Like the ideas.
Batwoman 2.0 Costume Suggestion – Those are all great ideas. I think for sure could do all that past season 2, maybe season 4 cause of facing a great danger where she'd need more assistance with protection...wonder why? Lol, I'm mysterious. I think 3 or 4 would likely be when. Also, never realized her symbol was off, wonder why that is? Seems like a weird detail to get wrong. I'll for sure update it.
Batwing Costume Suggestion – That is a pretty good idea. I think for sure, that would make sense. Pretty much had the same thinking of why he'd build it. I'm reasonably sure I know precisely what threat might make him need to get into the field and help Batwoman.
Thank you for all the suit suggestions. I'm pretty bad with details like that. Happy you got me covered (:
How the fan-fiction version of Harper Row should differ from the comics – That sounds like a pretty exciting take, and having a female MacGyver would be fun. It would make sense doing that, so it's not like a rehash of Ryan, I guess. I'm reasonably sure she initially has a similar type of origins to Ryan. I like it regardless. I didn't recall she had a crush on Batwoman. I guess that makes sense, happier putting her with Ryan I agree with your thinking. That is fantastic casting. I know she doesn't look like Chole irl, but still a brilliant choice. If she did, it would be perfect. I love Life Is Strange, so perfectly happy doing this. It's one of the most important games and stories to me. Hit me very hard, and I cherish it. That is fine. I will say it'll be at least 2 more seasons until Harper Row will appear sadly anyways, so don't need to worry about casting her brother yet. (Unless I change it, could fit into season 3 well, but it's going to be pretty packed)
Thoughts on Jim Gordon – I will say, he will 100% flashback and present-day at least once minimum. Even more, wanting that imagining Jack Coleman in the role. (I loved Heroes and kinda liked Reborn, could go on for hours about that, lol. Couldn't remember his name, so always was like, "omg, it's Mr. Glasses" whenever he showed up on any other show, too lol. I'm weird, sorry for the tangent) That was all to say, excellent casting choice.
Possible inclusion of Ghost-Maker – I could. It all depends on how it goes, I guess. I trust that writer on the book had a great run on "Detective Comics" and did a lot of great work for Batwoman, too kinda. You could disagree, he made Jacob Kane go off the rails, and Kate pissed off the Batfamily. He was a co-creator for Safiyah tho. (Sorry for another tangent. Just never get to express any of this out loud) Depending on if they are exciting and not like Arkham Knight too much, I for sure would use them.
One thought could be tossing them into the Three Ghosts plot? Idk, just cause ghost is in his name. Maybe he wants them dead for his own reasoning? Again, idk, will wait to see with what is done with him.
(Last minute update, just as I was going to post this, it appears DC has gone through with "5G." It seems to be a two-month thing, so that isn't too bad, I guess. Honestly wasn't excited by that when I first heard about it. How do you feel?
I am a little upset it's a diversity bonk on the head and still no LGBTQ+ repression from the looks of it ):
Anyways, I'm mentioning that here cause I guess Ghost-Maker will be dealt with reasonably fast. Who knows tho
Also, it's super weird seeing Luke be so different in the comics and tv show. Idc very much, just something else to point out, I guess)
Regarding how to handle story chapters – Thank you for the suggestion. I planned on having the release dates being bi-weekly on Fridays. That obviously has been a bit all over the place. Got excited and uploaded earlier twice because of the popularity. (Mainly from yourself)
Along with some other reason, I don't recall. So, from now on, I'll be trying to keep with that. So, next will be Friday the 30th. (A day before Holloween, which is fun timing considering Scarecrow appearing. I swear that wasn't planned) My issue is boredom. Mainly cause I suspect I'll be sitting on this unable to write more Batwoman for at least a week possible, then having to wait for reviews/comments. (I write fast sometimes cause I seem to focus best on this one over other projects I have. Likely, I feel most happy with this one being able to connect with LGBTQ+ elements. Superhero stuff, which I love writing most about when I feel like it's not like other stuff. Along with having at least one person invested, which is better than anything else I've done.
Anyways. Honestly, I check every day to see if you posted something new. (It pops up in my email if you do) I've had that last-minute change happen before, which is ultimately why I try now writing one chapter at a time with some planning ahead. I've had to scrap/change/shift things a lot, usually for the best. I guess my issue is, I just love writing this series too much, lol. Idk. I'm genuinely thrilled to respond to you and such. One of the best parts of my day. The other is speaking to my best friend, who I love with all my heart, anyway. Just overall very engaged in this series more than my other works currently. Spider-Man is my favourite fictional character, and I've almost written more here in 3 months than I have for his series in 3 years.
Hope all that made sense. If not, I understand. Sometimes I say so much I don't know wtf I'm saying.
Chapter Title Pull-Down List – Yes, I feel so dumb for not cluing into that. Thank you for pointing that out. I never noticed it till now and just really feel so much stupid than I usually do, lol. (Fixed now)
In Regards to Crossovers – Thank you very much for the suggestions, I think they are quite helpful. I'm happy not having it count to the word count. (Cause I'm addicted to writing this, it seems like)
Ps, I. Yes, I did, sighed it. That is interesting. They were able to get a hold of that information. Hopefully, they will be able to accomplish that goal. It would be fantastic to recast or get someone who cares to take charge of the series.
Ps. II. Oh, okay, I do remember that and like the sound of this cliffhanger.
S2EP22: I think for sure that could very well likely happen/will. I like how it's Operation Knightfall, very clever. All this for sure will happen. I think Sophie will be involved too, investigating or something. Still have a background plot going on with her that hasn't become clear just yet. Anyway, thank you so very much for this suggestion. Honestly, I wasn't planning on that happening this season, but likely best to not drag it out, and I think some clues/hints are here for it happening already or at least something. Now I have an exact endpoint for their conflict, that helps. Have it clear for Kate, Alice, Ryan and Safiyah. Of course, those might change with more suggestions/predictions as they happen.
Comprehensive Details on "The Three Ghosts of Batwoman":
Ghost #1: Bat-Soldier
Origin: I love this completed or at least updated origin story. Seems very well throughout. I'm glad to bring in someone from Point Rock having a connection to Kate & Sophie. Having a more personal threat like that will be interesting. Along with the inspiration of being a darker version of Batwoman/Batman, surely Batwoman will not be happy about her going on a killing spree or whatever, even against criminals.
Batwoman Imposter Costume: Those are good ideas. I'm fairly sure I understand what she will be looking like off that description. Seems like an intimating suit amalgamation together.
Philosophy: That's an interesting conflict for Batwoman to have to go against. I like how it'll make Batwoman question wherever or not to protect criminals from her. Positive at least Alice will have a big target on her back, perhaps other villains too?
Other Important Notes: That sounds interesting, looking forward to all of that. About being an ally, I think it'll have to be actively writing until I decide wherever or not she'll be redeemed. I do have some basic ideas, nothing too much yet.
Ghost #2: Bat-Beast
Origin: Seems exciting and makes sense. Her past is unknown to many. I'm wondering what that horrific "grave injustice and was violated in the worst possible manner" was. My mind is pretty sure what that's referring to, just wondering if that might be too extreme for this series. Unless it's never explicitly stated what happened, only it was very traumatic. I love all the details for her origins about the lore and such. It seems well thought out and creative. (I'm pretty sure a lot of this is original to your own thinking of the character)
(Question - Judging by the wording in that last sentence, I think she wants to be suppoir to Batwoman/become Batwoman herself? I guess this extends to the 3 Ghosts? Do they all want to prove they are Gotham's better guardians and will do what she can't in their different extreme ways? I guess, along with that, I'm wondering how the three will interact in your mind? I feel Ghost 1 & 2 are generally on the same page, while 3 might be more unstable than them? I am wrong in these assumptions?)
Batwoman Imposter Costume: Think I have a clear idea of that, should be excellent.
Philosophy: That makes complete sense after what happened to her in the past and why she'd be so twisted.
Other Important Notes: I figured as much. Batwoman is definitely going to need help to bring her down. I checked out the episode you're referring to, so I don't go overboard with her being "defeated."
Ghost #3: Bat-Demon
Origins: That's a creatively dark origin for the character. Can for sure see why the Order of St. Dumas and the Order of the Pure would be terrified of her. Seems like she's an embodiment of evil.
Batwoman Imposter Costume – Seems consistent with everything heard about her till this point. Sounds like a demonic force.
Philosophy: I can see that as a dangerous philosophy. I'm still wondering if the two other ghosts might have issues with her. Seems like she's wanting more than all criminals dead.
Other Important Notes: That is a very brilliant first introduction, great thinking as always.
(I've figured out mentally which season they will appear in. With the new details given here and rethinking some things, I can confirm they will appear in season 4. Originally honestly, I was thinking 7, but I realized the primary skeleton of og season 4 and 7 could be switched without issue. Hope that makes sense, might be worded a little weird. It also works better for something I was planning on happening in season 4 anyway and wouldn't work in season 7.
With all that positive change, having it sooner would be better cause it seems like a plot you have thought very hard about, and I'm excited to write about it! Can't be season 3. Just to be clear, it'll start making more sense why not once getting closer to there. Hope this random tangent made sense or random info made sense)
In closing for posting #3 - As always love learning about all these details regarding The Three Ghosts. You seem to be extremely passionate about them. I also enjoy the structure of how you break down their details. Once it's finally time for their appearance, I'll be hopefully able to deliver the justice they deserve.
Posting #4. It's okay you didn't put your name. I figured it was you, but I still appreciate you apologizing for something that minor. I'm very familiar with doing that.
Title Prediction – "Fear Itself." That's an interesting reference. I know that event is overlooked a lot, nice thinking. Also, just fits for Scarecrow, too, of course (:
Summary Prediction – That was straight up 100% what I was planning, not word for word, but the general idea. You worded it better than I would've. Fantastically accurate guess.
Story Prediction: Pretty much the basics with more added with what I had in mind. I'd say yet again this is spot on and will happen pretty much like this. Hope that I will handle it well!
Explanation: Yeah, that seems to be how it works. Perfectly fine with that.
First Crossover Suggestions for Your Story:
S2XO: "The Demon's Fist" (Part One) – Interesting plot and setup. It's nice, kinda reminds me a little of that time in STAS when Batman & Superman teamed up to deal with the League. (I know it's not that story, just the only thing it reminded me of off the top of my head) Having this chance to learn about his history with Bruce is smart too. Along with giving Ryan and Montoya something to do still.
(Part Two) - Again, that all sounds pretty great. Looking forward to it.
NOTE #1 I can understand that the series implies it is about Lois as much as Clark. Overall, I agree. I think you made the right call, not including that. Interesting theory, mine was Lex Luther from an alternate universe, a remnant from the Crisis. Yours is much more creative. Hope you are right about it all. Another Lex seems kinda dull.
NOTE #2: I never heard of them. Nice pull from the comics. All that sounds pretty fantastic, happy to bring back the League for this Crossover. Getting them to face off against Batwoman & Superman seems like a great idea. I know I keep praising it, but I'm just quite excited by this.
NOTE #3: Sounds all very interesting. I'll be happy to incorping all of that. An excellent conclusion for their time working together before the departure. Thank you very much for all the details.
(I was quite surprised pleasantly by this. I'm not 100% clear when I'll write this, assuming that it'll be around or after when this crossover happens with the new Batwoman. I'm pretty sure that's happening for some reason still. If not, might do it during the "midseason." (Episode 9) I'll give a heads up if I chose to do that, likely not. Do you have any input on when I should do this?)
Other Random Things:
#1 – Good assumption. I figured as much too. They likely will appear in minor roles at some point. It's a great idea to give them a relationship like that. I never thought of that. For sure could go in that direction.
#2 – Makes a tremendous amount of sense too, for sure will happen.
#3 - For sure, that would make a ton of sense and will likely happen at some point sooner than later.
#4 - That was the thought I had too, I'm feeling like it's hard for her remembering all of that, but it did matter positively for her life. It'll for sure, come up.
#5 – Finally, yeah again, that will all make it into the story. I'm excited to touch on Renee's past and become the commissioner at last.
I'm very thankful for all the help you've given to the story. Sometimes I admit, I wish it was easier to communicate, which causes some issues/stress. I can agree with you, I'm sorry for making that error, and hopefully, I'll be able to fix that in the future. As mentioned earlier, I'm going to try to paint a clearer picture of CW Batman. Without all your thinking, it's helped a lot. I will have the 4 Robins in normal appearance for one example. I'm 100% in agreement with your logic. I'm happier going with that option even if I'm stretching available information. Your sense is better than the series (:
Silver-Infinite Response.
That is fair, lol. I did think of an in-story reason for that being her name, kinda corny, but meh. Thinking about it like that, yeah can get why they'd change her name lol, just was a weird name/combo. Thank you, it was my kinda at this point co-writers idea adding her and choosing her. Agree with you. It's weird not seeing her in 99, lol. (Same) Yeah, I didn't expect her to get the role at all. With all that not surprised and horrible, she got divorced right after the party. Hopefully, it'll be for the best. (Maybe people should stop having a gender reveal parties) Fair. That is good, never saw her, so have no thoughts as of yet. Pretty ironic indeed. I think my mom liked that show, sad it was cancelled and that NYC is such a mess right now ): Thank you very much hope things go well. I'd feel bad if delays started happening. That's a pretty good guess. I'm going to assume that you are right about (:
Finally, as always, thank you all for continuing to read. My Wisdom Teeth aftermath has been great pain and annoyance. Writing has, for sure, helped distract from the pain I'm feeling and other stresses I'm currently having. Writing is the most consistent and immense joy in my life. I've been writing for a long time. Always loved it. Sadly, it seems like a lot. I regret what I thought was good years ago. Sometimes I fear I'll look bad at this season and think it's trash. Of course, I'll be thinking that during season like, idk 8-9? It'll be years until then, I suspect. Just seems crazy, hating all this work in the future ): Sorry to be a downer.
On a brighter side, I think I've been on Estrogen for two weeks as of posting this. No side effects for the looks of it yet, so that's good. Makes sense my emotional instability isn't increasing. Already over 9000, lol. I'm sorry, I'll shut up now.
Anywho, hope you all are doing well and best wishes.
