Chapter 21: The Angel of Death!
Four years ago, one incident would take place that would almost shift the entire relationship between devils and fallen angels. An incident that could have been the trigger of a new great war.
On this day four years ago, Itachi was out patrolling his family's territory in the Underworld. Accompanied by his self-proclaimed protector Esdeath, and teacher Behemoth. While circling around a poor village in the outskirts of the territory, despite Behemoth expressing it wasn't needed for Itachi to bother with these "lower level creatures". Itachi insisted that the protection of all in the Sitri territory was his duty. The conversation between student and teacher, were interrupted by a chilling pained scream coming from the village. Followed by glimmers and explosions of light.
Without wasting another second, Itachi rushed towards the village. And with no choice, Esdeath and Behemoth followed. On their way they ran into a battalion of their devil soldiers that were about to join the battle. "Captain!" Itachi called out to the one in charge, instantly gaining the attention of the soldiers whom saluted him.
"Young master." The captain bowed to Itachi, and Itachi visibly cringed. He disliked being treated like a noble. No matter, there were far more pressing matters at hand.
"Status report." Itachi looked to the village, seeing their soldiers fighting off a group of fallen angels.
"Right, a group of approximately 40 fallen angels have attacked. We're doing our best to subdue them, sire. With yours and Lord Behemoth and General Esdeath's assistance, we shall bring these fallen angels to their knees in no time!" The captain declared, having his orders from to capture the fallen angels if possible. And bring them to face trial before the Four Maous. If capture seemed impossible, they were permitted to kill the fallen angels.
"Very well… let's capture as many as we can. If they retaliate kill them." Serafall had told him all about the rocky relationship between the three factions. And how a new war may be nearing. She had also told him if he found any nasty fallen angels lurking around, he was to try to either capture them. If that didn't work, and he was left with no other option, he was to kill most of them to scare them. And let whoever was left to be judged by the three faction leaders and dealt their punishment.
His eyes met with a fallen angel woman, that seemed to have led the assault. A young woman with long raven black hair, and violet eyes. This was the fallen angel known as Raynare. Itachi, Behemoth and Esdeath's mere presence halted any further attacking of the village from the Fallen Angels. Itachi warned them, yet his warnings fell on deaf ears. And the Fallen Angels retaliated.
Couldn't they just surrender and accept their punishment? It would have made Itachi's day a lot easier. But it seemed like it wasn't meant to go down like that. Itachi easily freezes all the fallen angels to death with his demonic power. All but one, Raynare. Now all that was left was to capture her, and bring her before the faction leaders to be punished.
Itachi through the blizzard he was unleashing, could see Raynare actually shed a tear as she held up a futile struggle. He had no sympathy for her, after what her and her comrades did to the villagers of this village. Luckily the casualties had been kept to a minimum thanks to Itachi's arrival. Itachi's senses tingled, picking up an incoming massive source of power.
A blinding exploding wave of light clashed with his demonic power, pushing the blizzard back, and at the same time incinerating multiple of the devil soldiers who had tried to capture Raynare while she was restrained by the blizzard. Itachi was left in shock, this light it didn't hurt him, it just felt like he was standing under the hot sun on a warm summer day. Meaning it wasn't an attack, it was just the aura radiating from one fallen angel. And that aura, wiped out all those soldiers like nothing. Was it a fallen angel leader? Azazel? No, the Fallen Angel Governor wouldn't do something this risky like being in devil territory. Kokabiel perhaps?
As the light started to die down a bit, Itachi was able to see the silhouette of the source of this light. Once the light had died down completely, Itachi's eyes still blurry from this sudden exposure to a massive light source. Itachi blinked a couple of times, regaining his vision. And there stood the tall figure of a muscular young male Fallen Angel. This was the first meeting between the Sitri heir Itachi, and the Angel of Death Amon.
'The villagers!' Itachi's mind raced with concern, and instantly looked down. Letting out a sigh of relief overseeing the village having been out of Amon's range. Having confirmed the safety of the village and its inhabitants, Itachi directed his piercing gaze at Amon. "A source of angelic light able to match my demonic power… who are you?" Itachi's answer is giving from overhearing Raynare uttering Amon's name with a look of surprise.
"I am Amon, the strongest Fallen Angel of my generation." Amon presented himself, glaring back at Itachi. "Please, I ask that you forgive my older sister for her foolish behavior." Despite his words, Itachi could tell what a burning sensation of hatred Amon had for him. Or rather, for devils.
"… That's a little odd of you to say, seeing as you eradicated those guards earlier."
Upon hearing Itachi's words, Amon lowered his head. To which Raynare gasped in shock at her brother's actions, and caused her to give Itachi a venomous glare. "Forgive me, I had no time to think. I had to save my beloved older sister. As someone who has siblings himself, I'm sure you could understand what it's like. Besides, today both sides lost people. There is no need for any further bloodshed." Itachi thought on Serafall, Sona, even his brother from his past life Sasuke. There was nothing in this world, he wouldn't do for either of them. He could understand Amon in that regard, but it still wasn't an excuse.
Itachi still didn't hold much sympathy for the Fallen Angel siblings, even when Amon revealed their younger sister was recently killed by devils. Yet he held a somewhat respect for Amon. As a fellow brother, and a warrior.
This Fallen Angel, Amon. He seemed, different from any Fallen Angel Itachi had encountered in the past. His manipulation with light was unlike anything Itachi had ever seen. From what his sharingan was telling him, Itachi could about estimate that Amon was either close to him in power or his equal. Which made fighting Amon here not an option. Itachi made a mental note of that right away. Even with Behemoth and Esdeath here, fighting Amon was too great a risk.
If Amon was able to incinerate those soldiers earlier with just his aura, there was no telling how it would it be like fighting him. What is more, how long the range of his light while fighting would expand. The village would be caught in the crossfire and wiped out. Completely destroying the purpose of his task, to keep them safe. And Amon was unlikely to switch battleground, seeing his current situation and all.
Looming behind Itachi, were Esdeath and Behemoth followed up by the remaining devil soldiers whom had survived Amon's light show. Itachi shot them a look, telling them to halt. As it seemed they didn't care the village bellow them had basically become a hostage in this situation.
Itachi could only see two options here. One, he fights Amon right here and now, probably losing more soldiers and the entire village in the process. The nobles wouldn't probably even bat an eye at the loss of this village, and regard Itachi as a hero for taking down someone as powerful as Amon. Or option two, he lets them go and reports to Serafall to let her deal with the political issues of finding a proper punishment for Raynare and Amon. Which would probably result in an outrage from the noble devils, and he would be looked down upon and possibly viewed as a traitor to his race. The answer was clear to him, Itachi had made his decision. He let them go.
Itachi looked at the two figures of Amon and Raynare flying off into the distance. The devil soldiers looking perplexed and outraged behind him. While Behemoth rubs the bridge of his nose, looking troubled and worried for Itachi's reputation.
Esdeath looks to Itachi, just looking disappointed they didn't get to fight Amon. "Why did you let them leave?" Esdeath breaks the silence and asks the Sitri heir. In responds Itachi merely looks down to the village, to which the outrage amongst the soldiers dies down. Some seeming to understand Itachi's reasoning. Esdeath however merely scoffs. "They are nothing but weak lower level garbage, losing them wouldn't have been a big deal." Esdeath was really strongly set on the ideal of survival of the fittest.
"… All life is precious. It is those that abuse the gift of life that should be punished." Itachi replied, showing his dislike for the system where the rich lived off the poor. Nobles thinking themselves superior of everyone was something Itachi really disliked.
"… Normal noble devils wouldn't think like that." Esdeath points out, not showing dislike to Itachi's words. She seemed as calm and stoic about the whole situation like it didn't really bother her.
"Well, clearly I am far from normal." Itachi turns his head to Esdeath, flashing her a little smile.
Esdeath returns the smile. "That's clear." Without any more fuss, they headed off to report the incident to Serafall.
Although, it became clear that the news of the incident had begun spreading around quickly. Itachi had a lot of dirty looks shot at him from various noble devils, judging him for not killing off the Fallen Angel trash. Although Itachi didn't mind, Serafall most certainly did. Outraged over what words she heard whispers off about her dearest younger brother.
All Itachi remembered after that, was that Serafall in outrage went back and forth in debate with Azazel and the rest of the Griogori leaders to have Raynare executed, and Amon punished. Then, after days of debate, Serafall had won. Amon had been punished and demoted in rank within the Grigori faction, as well as been put to serve some jail time for a few months. And Raynare's body was brought before them. Serafall had Behemoth confirm the body was Raynare's.
Itachi remembers seeing the body himself, although he hadn't gotten that good of a look at Raynare during the incident. With her being insignificant in his eyes, and with Itachi having mostly payed attention to Amon during their encounter. Although from what he could remember through their brief encounter, the body certainly resembled Raynare. All from her hair style to her clothing and facial features.
The last he saw of Amon, was three years later, during the battle against Trigon. Where all the three factions had been called upon to stop the Lord of Purgatory. Itachi remembered being interrupted mid battle from a cry for help. He never saw the one who called out for help, only heard her voice. All he saw was Amon fighting against Trigon, which ended with the Fallen Angel critically injured. Itachi remembered he had tried to help, but was prevented to reach Amon in time. And when the battle was over, and Trigon remained trapped in Purgatory. There was no sign of Amon anywhere.
One could imagine Itachi's surprise, when four years later he hears that a crew of four Fallen Angels invade Kuoh Town. And discover that the name of the one leading the crew, is Raynare. Since Rias had destroyed Raynare's body completely, there was nothing left for Itachi to inspect besides some feathers. Yet, he reported to Serafall. Serafall said it must have been a mistake, although she promised she would look into it.
And now, a few weeks later. Here he was, standing face to face with the Angel of Death once more. Amon having just been awakened from his long slumber, had prevented Itachi from attacking Kokabiel. Blasting him away with a wave of light.
Itachi gritted his teeth, thinking about what had led him to this moment. The hand he had used to hold off Amon's attack had suffered major burns. The skin of Itachi's hand was beginning to peel off. To ease the pain of his third degree burnt right hand, Itachi unleashed a chilling sensation from his left hand. Cooling off his right hand with his ice demonic powers. "…" Neither Itachi nor Amon uttered a single word, standing there in silence while the sound of everyone else fighting echoed around them.
"Amon, welcome back." Kokabiel broke the silence, greeting his right-hand man.
Amon in responds turned to look at his master, looking groggy from having been asleep for a whole year. "K-Kokabiel-sama… what happened?" Amon looked around. He recognized the scenery. This is the very same place they all fought Trigon. Only, it looked completely unharmed.
"My dear boy, sadly you were critically injured during the battle against Trigon. Your sister managed to sneak you away mid battle and back to my castle. We oh, so desperately tried to heal you. But nothing worked. You have been in a comatose state for a year now." Kokabiel revealed, which greatly seemed to shock Amon. The Angel of Death holding his right hand to his temple trying to recollect his thoughts.
"Yes… I remember… Agh!" Amon looked to Itachi and then to Kokabiel. "Does this mean… Raynare. What happened to my older sister Raynare?!" Amon instantly went into a state of panic upon seeing Itachi here. And for some reason it brought his thinking straight to Raynare. Though Itachi had already guessed why Amon was freaking out.
"Raynare?" Issei having overheard Amon's question, looked in shock. This was Raynare's younger brother? His ex-girlfriend's younger brother. A part of his mind felt tingly upon laying his eyes on Amon. Was this related to those dreams he had been having of Raynare lately? Was the piece of consciousness she had left behind reacting to her brother's voice?
Kokabiel put on a sad mourning looking expression. "Sadly, my young friend. Raynare is dead. She gave her life trying to revive you. She was murdered by devils." Time seized to move for Amon. His face staring blankly as he tried to process this new information. Itachi only glared at Kokabiel. Clearly, Kokabiel was painting a picture in Amon's head that made Raynare the victim.
"No… it can't…" Amon's voice sounded broken. "… be true." Tears beginning to swell in his eyes. "First Yuuma… and now…! Which means… what I did for her… was all for nothing." His very being was trembling, memories from the past beginning to play over in his mind from his childhood.
Flashback
A young frail Fallen Angel child, stood weeping before his older sister whom looked slightly older. "Nee-san… am I a freak?" The boy wiped away his tears, to which his older sister embraced him in a hug.
"No, of course not. What makes you think that?" The older sister, while holding an infant Fallen Angel wrapped up in a blanket in her arms, gently comforted her brother.
"Because… the other kids… say I'm a freak. They call me strange for glowing so much… and because I am weak." To this his sister firmly looked at him.
"Hey, you are not weak. You hold great power little brother. Light, is the greatest weapon for us Fallen Angels. The other kids are just jealous. Mom and dad always knew you were destined for greatness."
The boy seized his weeping. "Nee-san… when I get older. I swear I will become strong! I will be stronger than any Fallen Angel and Devil! I will get strong, so I can protect you and Yuuma. I swear it." The boy declared, bringing a warm smile to his older sister's face.
"That's my boy." Raynare gently stroked Amon's head, and kissed his forehead.
Flashback end
"She's gone… they are both gone…" Amon uttered as he looked into his palms. "I couldn't protect them…"
Rias even seized fighting off the other Fallen Angels, upon hearing Amon mentioning Raynare's name. "I see…" Rias uttered feeling somewhat regret for killing Raynare. If she could go back, would she do things differently? No, she probably wouldn't.
"AAAARRGGGHHH!" Amon screams as he falls to his knees. Falling into a pit of despair. Mix feelings of anger, hatred, fear, sadness, love, loss all coming down on him. His back began bulging, looking rather strangely. Amon's mind was racing, Raynare was dead. And on top of that, he also thought back when Yuuma died. The feeling of failure weighed on his consciousness. What is more, he realized one crucial thing. Now he was all alone, he had no family left. It was just him. Amon cried out in despair over his loss. To this, Kokabiel merely smirked, knowing what was happening. Coming sprouting out from Amon's back, were two extra pairs of black feathered wings, making it a total of ten wings now.
'Just as I predicted. The great feeling of despair from the loss of Raynare would increase his power to new heights.' Kokabiel tried to hold back his laughter so that Amon wouldn't get suspicious.
"Who? Who is responsible for her death?!" Amon looked to Kokabiel for answers. Although before Kokabiel could reply, the culprit herself spoke up.
"It was me. I killed her." Rias stepped forward, instantly gaining Amon's attention whom shot the Gremory princess a dangerous glare.
"You? The Gremory heiress… I see, yes of course." Amon bawled his hands into fists and spread his mighty ten black feathered angel wings sending powerful surges of wind around him.
"Listen, Raynare died because she-" Before Rias could even begin to attempt to explain to Amon why Raynare died. Amon charged at her, with his light aura shining brighter than ever. However, before his harmful light could reach Rias a wall of ice surrounded the Angel of Death, boxing him in.
Itachi had stopped Amon in his blind rage, and stepped forward to face the Angel of Death. Amon glared daggers at Itachi. "Move." Amon gave one last warning to Itachi. Itachi didn't reply, he only got into a fighting stance. In his anger, Amon intensified the light surrounding him. The light aura around him grew so massive, it shined through the barrier lighting the whole town up despite it being night. It almost looked as if the sun was up.
This was bad, his peerage and Rias could probably handle this intense light without being incinerated. But some of Rias peerage members, particular Issei and Asia might not. Fighting Amon in such a cramped space was too dangerous for the others. "Raven!" Itachi called out to his bishop, and without need for any explanation Raven used her magic to create a cube of darkness around Itachi and Amon for them to fight in.
"Well… it seems things are escalating quite a bit." Kokabiel eyed the cube, able to see the silhouette of both Itachi and Amon through the dark cube thanks to Amon's light. "Balba. How much longer will it take for the Excaliburs to merge?" Kokabiel crossed his legs, seeming confident that things were progressing smoothly in his eyes.
"It won't even take 5 minutes, Kokabiel." Balba bowed before the warmongering fallen angel.
"Is that so. I will leave it to you then." Kokabiel moved his eyes from Balba towards Rias. "Tell me, is Sirzechs coming? Or is it Serafall?"
"… Who knows? If I were you, I would try and live long enough to find out for yourself." Rias flared up in a dangerous destructive aura that even caused Kokabiel to raise his brow.
'The Gremory girl… she's improved…' Was the thought going through the warmongers head. He didn't recall Rias ever giving off this much pressure before. "Well, perhaps you can attempt entertaining me in the meantime. Miss Gremory." Kokabiel flared a toothy smirk, as with a flick of fingers he formed a magic circle. And blasting out from it like a missile was a gigantic spear of light.
Issei was gawking at the sheer size of the light spear. Compared to Raynare's, it was like comparing a toothpick to an actual spear. If anyone of his friends were to get hit by that… "Are you scared partner?" Ddraig brought Issei out from his crippling sensation of fear. Of course he was scared, this was on a total different level for him. In fact, all Issei could wonder is why no one else seemed as freaked out as him and Asia.
"Why? Why does Buchou seem so calm? Itachi-senpai is occupied with Raynare's brother… he can't take Kokabiel down now."
"Perhaps she is calm, because she has the power to defeat him. Not to mention… just because you haven't faced anything of this magnitude. Doesn't mean the rest of these people haven't."
That got Issei thinking, what did Buchou and the others have to fight before he joined their ranks? Issei was so caught up in his thinking, and the gravity of the situation. That he didn't notice a Fallen Angel coming in from behind.
"Ey!" Koneko came to his rescue, kneeing the Fallen Angel in the chin. The sound of Koneko's knee dislocating that Fallen Angel's jaw, snapping Issei out from his train of thought. "Focus." Koneko sent him a look, as she right hooked a second Fallen Angel.
"Koneko-chan…" Issei then heard a blood curling scream and the sound of flesh getting cut right open. "Kiba…" Issei turned around to see Kiba standing with duel wielded blades before a now dead Fallen Angel.
"You know, this is starting to remind me a lot of what happened last year." Kiba said as Koneko jumped towards him, standing back to back.
"Us fighting against an army, and an angry warmonger. All we are missing is a three headed beast."
"Now. I will have you all fight my pet that I brought from hell." Kokabiel clicked his fingers. Then from the depths of darkness a hellish fire pit emerged from the rumbling ground. A ten-meter-tall large bodied three headed dog emerged, all three heads unleashing a mighty howl that shook the ground. "Cerberus!"
"…"
"…"
Koneko and Kiba stared with a deadpan expression. "I had to jinx it, didn't I?" Koneko sighed, to which Kiba gave a slight nervous chuckle.
"I am confused, this happened last year?" Issei questioned.
"Well, a more extreme version…" Kiba replied.
"No time to discuss the past, focus on what is now." Rias stretched out her batwings and flew towards Kokabiel. "Issei! You and Asia play the support role! Issei transfer your boosted power to us, make sure to make them all count! Asia, remain on standby to heal anyone injured!"
"Issei-san… who is that?" Asia pointed to the new sword woman helping them out.
"Oh, that's Xenovia… She's and exorcist who came here with a childhood friend of mine. It's a long story…" Issei then recalled all the things Xenovia said about her. "You don't have to worry about her."
"Huh? Why?" Asia questioned, confused at why Issei looked so upset.
"… She's just like those that called you a witch back when you were considered a Holy Maiden. Let's just say, she was harsh." Issei didn't need to say more, Asia pretty much understood. This Xenovia was from the church, and like those from the church they thought Asia was a witch who heals devils.
"Now then…" With a flick of his wrist, Kokabiel threw down the massive light spear, sitting confidently on his throne. He didn't need this many toys to play with, getting rid of Rias this early should make things interesting for when Sirzechs showed up. So, imagine his surprise when Rias with a wave of her hand unleashed a wave of destruction at the shape of a dragon's head. And the dragon devoured Kokabiel's light spear, eating away at the light.
The light brightened up the red destruction aura in an explosion, it looked like a brilliant glowing sunset. Before Kokabiel could react, Rias had circled the explosion and appeared flying behind Kokabiel. Charging up a sphere of destruction in her right hand. She threw it like a baseball, sending it spinning towards the back of Kokabiel's head.
Kokabiel flinched and leaped off his throne, that was incinerated into ashes when Rias' destruction sphere blew up. "What just happened?" Kokabiel flinched as he hovering behind him. He turned around with a stern glare.
"Surprise." Rias crossed her arms her aura intensifying.
"I see, you have been training. I'm impressed. Did your boyfriend inspire you by any chance?" Once those words escaped his lips, Kokabiel let out a snort. "What am I saying. Of course, he did. There is no way a spoiled brat like you would train otherwise."
Rias frowned upon Kokabiel. And without uttering a word, shot her hand out and blasted a destruction softball sized sphere straight at Kokabiel. Kokabiel stretched his arm to the side, and with a mighty swing slapped the destruction softball to the side. "I might actually need to put in a little effort." Kokabiel smirked as the sound of Rias' destruction sphere blowing a car sized hole into the roof of the new school building.
Rias then shot out a second softball destruction sphere. Kokabiel rolled his eyes at seeing Rias attempting the same futile trick. He readied himself to slap it away, to which Rias smiled. "Then I should return the favor." With a turn of her wrist, and a slight movement of her fingers. The destruction sphere expanded to the size of a two-story building. Kokabiel gawked as he quickly shielded himself using his ten wings, despite the wings absorbing most of the damage Kokabiel was still blown plummeting down to the ground.
The warmonger laid there in the mud, looking completely caught off guard. 'My cape…' Kokabiel picked himself up, his eyes twitching upon seeing his stained cape. He felt the moisture of the mud on his right cheek, slowly reaching up wiping it off. He took a few seconds to stare at it. It infuriated him to no end. Not because his cape got dirty, not because his face got a little mud on it. No, it was because the one that had put him in this state. Was a mere, young high class spoiled devil brat! He had expected this maybe from a warrior as famed as Itachi. But Rias?! Whom is mostly famous for her voluptuous erotic body in the Underworld?! To someone as proud as Kokabiel, it was unacceptable.
"What's wrong? Did you find something interesting down there in the mud?" Rias condescendingly looked down on Kokabiel, like he had done to them earlier.
Kokabiel took a few deep breaths to calm himself, he wasn't going to give her the satisfaction from seeing him enraged. Instead he removed his cape, standing there now in a black high collared shirt with the top buttons opened up. "Keep up that bravado, you foolish girl. I'm about to show you… the true power of one of the proud leaders of the Grigori." Kokabiel's flared in a golden holy aura, him and Rias staring each other down.
"Isn't this the part where you tell us your big plan? I mean, I think we pretty much know the plan behind Excalibur… But what about him?" Rias nudged towards the sphere of darkness where Amon and Itachi were fighting in. "Why go through all this trouble… with Raynare… kidnapping Asia… just to revive him? And if you think I'm going to believe if you said you did it out of compassion for your subordinate… Then you are dead wrong."
To this, Kokabiel just laughed. "You know what? Why not. It doesn't matter now anyway. It's already done. Operation Fallen Arch… is a plan to build an elite army of warriors using Amon's unique mutant DNA. An army of super soldiers all able to manipulate light to such an extent. Basically, a Fallen Angel version of Heaven's very own Arch Angels."
Rias flinched at hearing such a frightening idea. An army of Fallen Angels at the same caliber as an Arch Angel like Gabriel or Michael. Was such a thing even possible?
"And with my loyal right-hand Amon leading the army in the upcoming war as a result of Excalibur. No Devil or Angel would be able to stop us. The Fallen Angels will stand at the top of all factions! Once we grind the Devils and Angels into dust! No one will ever question again which faction is the strongest!" Kokabiel declared with a maddening smirk that showed his fangs. "With the Fallen Angels already heavily outnumbering you devils, and the angels! Even if you two joined forces, you would be no match for us!"
Rias backed up slightly, looking in disgust at Kokabiel's lust for warfare. "You don't speak for all the Fallen Angels! The other leaders of your faction would never allow that to happen!"
"Maybe so… but that is why. Once the gears of war have started turning as a result of what will happen today. I will use Amon's power, to overthrow Azazel and take my place as the Governor of all Fallen Angels! That way, there will be no discussion of peace. No fucking peace conference! All that will be left for you devils, will be to beg for mercy!"
"… If so, then where is this army of super soldiers?" Rias glared at Kokabiel, whom gave a chuckle as he gave a clap with his hands.
"Right here…" Kokabiel uttered as the four six-winged Fallen Angels came to his side. All holding a syringe containing a red liquid substance. "I've been preparing, Gremory. The only reason I kept Amon's frozen body in my castle, was to experiment using his DNA. Even though I haven't had a chance to test it yet seeing as I've been in quite a rush, you have all presented me with this perfect opportunity. These four here, all share the same blood type as Amon. Fairly powerful. And they have agreed to be my loyal test subjects."
"You haven't tested it yet? And what if it goes horribly wrong? What then?" It was obvious that due to all this peace talk, and the upcoming conference that Kokabiel didn't have much time to spare. So, he was rushed into executing his plan sooner than probably expected.
"Oh, don't worry… I have a backup plan." Kokabiel gave a sinister chuckle.
The wild three headed guard dog from hell, ran rampant around the track field of the academy. Spraying fire from its three heads violently, setting various buildings on fire. Issei latched onto Asia holding her by her waist, jumping out of the way as Cerberus charged forward at them. Cerberus left head followed after Issei and Asia, its droll covered jaw inching away from them. And popping out of nowhere in-between Cerberus, Issei and Asia appeared a giant doggy bone of darkness straight into Cerberus' left heads jaws.
"Down mutt." Raven levitated over Cerberus, her cape flagging in the wind. And a chilling aura emitting from around her, with her hands surrounded by orbs of darkness. And with a swift upwards swing of her right arm, she blasted the Cerberus with a slice wave of darkness. Cutting the hellish dog down the middle. Cerberus' body exploded with black liquid in the place of blood. It looked like tar, and smelled like rotten eggs and fish. Although then the tar like blood began taking shape, creating two separate Cerberus' from the split body. "I see… if I cut you up you simply regrow. I had heard rumors, but I wanted to test it to see if it worked."
The two Cerberus dogs flanked around Raven, attacking from two sides. Raven quickly stretched her arms out to the side. Using her magic to create walls of darkness. The two three headed dogs crashed faces first into the walls, and in vain trying to push their way through. Raven followed up, by creating two wrecking balls of darkness. And sending them smacking through the walls and straight into the two Cerberus'. The hellish dogs gave a pained yelp as one crashed into the gymnasium causing it to collapse. And the other one rolling in the dirt, and straight into the barrier around the academy which sent an electronic shock through its system.
The two hell guard dogs whimpered, trying to recover from Raven's assault. One of the Cerberus dogs' three heads spat out balls of blazing fire. All three fire balls merging into one massive ball of fire. Raven gave a twist of her right wrist, unleashing darkness from her robes circling around the fire trapping it in a sphere. The darkness trapping the fire ball, snuffing away the oxygen and thus strangling the fire. The sphere shrank as the fire grew smaller until it was extinguished.
The second Cerberus rushed up at Raven from behind. The shadow from the Cerberus began to grow in size right underneath it. The shadow of the Cerberus began to move wobbly. Then shooting up like a rocket, the shadow blasted to life punching Cerberus in the gut. All three heads gasped, black smoke emitting from their fiery belly. The darkness formed into a demonic long nailed hand and latched onto the Cerberus' body.
Raven lowered her arms, holding them in an x-formation. Generating two spheres of darkness, her eyes beginning to glow pure white. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Moving her arms slowly up to her chest level, and violently pushing them to the side. Unleashing a gigantic raven bird shaped wave. The soaring raven snatching up the other Cerberus, and slamming it into the second restrained Cerberus. The darkness spread around the two Cerberus'. And formed a bubble around them, that shrank slowly in mimic to Raven bawling her right hand into a fist.
Everyone could only stare or gawk in awe, as Raven incinerated Cerberus into nothingness with her magic. "Wow… Rachel is kinda scaring me…" Issei had to admit, he was not expecting such a fragile pale looking girl like Raven, or Rachel as everyone in the academy knew her, to be this powerful.
"Oy! Oy! Kohai! What are ya standing around for?! Fight!" Damian appeared at Issei's side, strangling five Fallen Angels caught in his strings to death.
"Senpai!" Issei was initially shocked at seeing his perverted superior that he bonded with acting all serious like this. Apparently, Damian used to be a bounty hunter. That is at least what Rias had told Issei. Issei snapped out from his thoughts, feeling a Fallen Angel coming from behind. He could feel the dangerous killing intent and his body screaming for him to run from this holy aura. Issei swiftly boosted his power, and threw a punch straight into an incoming Fallen Angel's face. And the Fallen Angel was sent flying a few feet backwards. "Right! Come at me you shitty Fallen creeps!" Issei declared, lowkey boosting his power up reading to transfer it.
While in the sky, flickers of exploding light could be seen from time to time like fireworks. Rias and Kokabiel battling it out, the Gremory princess surprising Kokabiel even further with her skill. Without lifting a finger, Kokabiel shot various spears of light like machine gun fire at Rias whom was chasing him. And Rias cloaked herself in a destructive like barrier, and all of Kokabiel's light spears bounced off her. And Rias from time to time, would throw a series of destruction spheres and thus had to lower her destruction cloak.
To Kokabiel it was clear, he was faster at creating light spears than Rias was at creating destruction spheres. However, this barrier cloak of hers was strong enough to deflect all of his quick shots. If he had more time to focus, he could create a big enough of a light spear to pierce through her defenses. But every time Kokabiel tried, Rias would start her assault. So, Kokabiel returned to shooting a machinegun fire of light spears. Rias soared around like fairy, busy with dodging the various light spears. Kokabiel noticed the 30 second window it would take Rias to reactivate her destruction cloak. The warmonger smirked as he began plotting Rias' demise in his head.
Kokabiel held his right hand up, charging up a concentrated amount of light. Rias focused on when the light would begin taking shape of a spear, before she would lower her destruction cloak. However, with a flick of his fingers. Kokabiel blasted down an energy wave of angelic light.
The destruction cloak ate away at the light wave. Soaring piercing through the wave like a rocket. The moment the light cleared away from Rias' vision, she saw Kokabiel. Kokabiel holding a gigantic light spear, having used the short time while Rias was distracted by the light wave to charge it.
"Shit!" Rias cursed underneath her breath. She hadn't known Kokabiel could concentrate that much power in that short amount of time. Kokabiel threw his light spear down upon Rias. The light spear connected and pierced through Rias' destruction cloak. Causing an implosion that knocked Rias out from the air. Rias gawked as a thin beam of light pierced through her right shoulder, that Kokabiel shot from his fingertip.
Her right arm was rendered immobile, blood dripped down from Rias' shoulder. "Buchou!" Issei shouted in panic, and rushed over to his king and crush, with Asia in his arms.
"No don't!" Rias warned her servants not to come any closer. Kokabiel acted upon the presence of Issei and Asia and shot a series of light spears at them. Rias speed up and pushed both Issei and Asia down, laying protectively over them. "Argh!" Rias cried out in pain as two spears of light stabbed through her wings and into the ground. All around her laid light spears lodged into the ground. Some even having left cut marks on her legs and thighs. And there was one light spear stabbed into her left leg, and one stabbed into her left shoulder. Now both her arms were immobile and one of her legs as well.
Issei looked horrified. Issei was so stunned and shocked, that he didn't even notice Rias' right boob pushed up against his chest. "Buchou…?" Rias was twitching in pain and then the light spears vanished to which blood gushed off from the punctured holes in her body. Rias rolled off from Issei and Asia and laid there beside them while muffling her pained cries.
"Buchou! Oh, no… I will heal you at once!" Asia quickly went to Rias side, and began healing her. Closing up her bleeding cuts, and beginning to restore flesh and tissue on the holes in her body.
"Like I would let you." Kokabiel snorted and tossed another spear of light.
"Promotion Rook!" With increased sturdiness and strength, Issei stood over his king and Asia taking on the light spear. Issei tried to block the spear with his Boosted Gear gauntlet. "That's my line you bastard!" The light spear pierced straight through the jewel of the gauntlet, and thus straight through Issei's hand.
"Ho? The Red Dragon boy wants to play?" Kokabiel released his full power, putting a lot of pressure on Issei. Cold sweat dripped from the poor young man's face, his legs trembling threatening to give in from all this pressure. Kokabiel was on a totally different level compared to his Fallen Angel minions. Guess he wasn't their leader for nothing. "Well? Do you still have fighting spirit? Or shall I just kill you now and be done with it?"
Issei still stood standing, although unable to move. His body frozen in fear at feeling Kokabiel's power. Issei was breathing heavily under this pressure, finding himself unable to answer Kokabiel. "I will take that as a no." Kokabiel with a flick of his fingers sent a light spear flying straight for Issei.
Although the spear was blown away by a sphere of black and red destructive energy. Rias stood tall, fully healed from her injuries. "Issei, I assume you have charged up enough power?" Rias walked next to her pawn, putting her hand on his shoulder.
"Yes… Alright!" Issei's body glowed red, and the jewel on his gauntlet flashed green.
"Transfer!" The gauntlet roared and suddenly, the power flew over to Rias. Her body exploding with a red violent aura, her hair rising up as the ground shook from her new power.
"I see… she had the Red Dragon transfer over the power it had boosted up to herself. Her power… she's clearly Satan class."
However, before Kokabiel and Rias could continue their fight. The annoying satisfied voice of Balba interrupted. "It is complete!" Before Balba at the center of the school field. The four Excalibur swords gave out an intense amount of light.
No matter how much Balba revolted even the likes of Kokabiel. He had to applaud the man for his efforts. Even a dog deserves a treat if it performs a trick after all, was the thought going through Kokabiel's head. "The four Excalibur swords are going to become one." The bright light shined blindingly into the eyes of the devils. As a result, they had to cover their eyes from this holy blinding light.
"Splendid! Because of the light created by the Excalibur when they become one. The spell on the ground is also complete." Balba revealed as the four Excaliburs turned into a single sword, and a massive white magic circle spread on the ground of the school's field. "This town will collapse within 20 minutes. And the only way to dispel it…" Balba had to stop speaking as he couldn't hold back his malicious laughter. "… is by beating Kokabiel."
To this, everyone was left speechless. Although their ears were only filled with the sounds of laughter coming from Kokabiel's soldiers. "Wonderful, I can't wait for Sirzechs to arrive. Expecting to see his little sister and friends… but all he will find is a deserted wasteland of what was once Kuoh Town." Kokabiel himself smiled with glee.
"If that's the case… then we'll just have to beat you before that." Rias declared, her body radiating with a dangerous aura. She wasn't playing around anymore.
"Go ahead and try… if you think you can." Kokabiel challenged.
On the ground, Kuroka eyed the cube where Itachi and Amon were fighting. Seeing lights still exploding violently within. She then turned over too little Jack whom stood guard over the sleeping Bob. "How long has he slept?"
Jack eyed the alarm clock next to Bob. "22 hours, and 50 minutes. Should we wake him up early?"
"… No, better to have him at full power for this. Besides with how things are going, Rias might actually be able to beat Kokabiel. Or Captain Itachi might actually finish that Amon guy first, and then take down Kokabiel." Kuroka sounded confident that things would work out for them. "Also, we have our own secret weapon." Kuroka gave a sly grin as she looked up to Raven. "Eh, Raven…"
"I know." Raven replied and began chanting, sending her own magic into the magic circle.
"Eh?" Balba blinked at this seeing the pure white magic circle, contaminated with darkness. "No, no, no! Stop what you are doing witch! Freed!" Balba looked like he was about to pop a vein as he shouted at the shitty priest.
"What's up, geezer?" Freed casually reached for Excalibur.
"Take our new Excalibur, and exterminate that filthy witch girl before she ruins our plan!"
"Don't need to ask me twice! Yahoo!" Freed jumped from joy over getting the chance to test his new toy. "Excalibur-chan~! Let's slice us up some devils!"
But then clashing with his Excalibur, were Xenovia with her Excalibur and Kiba with his demonic sword. "Rias Gremory's Knight. If the cooperation is still valid, let us destroy this once holy sword, now sword of heresy together."
"Agreed. But remember, Balba is mine!" Kiba declared as together the two pushed Freed back like he was nothing. While Balba flinched at the pure killing intent leaking from Kiba.
"My such malice and hatred… and who are you exactly?" The way Balba spoke to Kiba infuriated the Gremory Knight. He spoke to him like he wasn't interested and that Kiba himself didn't matter.
"Balba Galilei!" Kiba hissed in a venomous tone. "You may not know my name, but I'm sure you know what I am." To this Balba blinked while rubbing his chin trying to remember. "I am a survivor if the Holy-sword Project. After being cast aside and left for dead on your orders. I was found and reincarnated into a Devil."
"Hou. The survivor of that ol' project huh? My, it's been a long time since I even thought about that. To think I would be get caught up with my past in this far east country like this. Pray tell, is this perhaps fate?" Balba gave a disgusting laugh, treating Kiba like a fool. A nobody. "You see, I like holy swords. I like them so much I find myself dreaming about them. It might be because I have been fascinated with them ever since I was a child. Which is why when I found myself unable to wield one, I fell into despair."
Balba gave a depressed sigh at talking about his past. "I held admiration for those who could wield it because I couldn't. That feeling became so powerful that I started an experiment to create those who can use them. Then it was complete. It's thanks to you and the others."
"Complete? Stop with the lies, you disposed of us after finding us to be failures!" Kiba spoke in doubt, yet Balba shook his head at Kiba's reply.
"I realized that there was an essential factor needed to wield holy swords. I used the numerical values of the "factors" to investigate its capability. Most of the test subjects had the elements that I required. But they didn't have the numerical value needed to wield the Excalibur. Then it hit me. Was there a way to take out the elements that we needed and gather them?"
Xenovia herself gasped a little in shock, having realized it. "I see… the thing that is put inside the holy sword wielders when they received a blessing is…" Xenovia thought back on a memory, a memory of witnessing Irina receiving such a blessing. A bright blue crystal that merged into her body. Now that she knew how those crystals came to be, it made her so sick to the stomach she almost felt like vomiting.
"That's right… We take out the holy elements from those who have them. And then we crystallize them. Just like this." Balba reached into his robes, and pulled out a blue shiny crystal. "With this, my research improved. Even so, those fools from the Church banished me for heresy and took away my reports on the research. But seeing you here now…" Balba looked to Xenovia. "I can see someone completed my work. That Arch Angel Michael no doubt? After making me look like a criminal this is the result? Well, since it is him, we are talking about. Even if he took the elements from test subjects, he wouldn't go as far as to kill them. I guess that is the only thing that makes that Angel more human than me." Balba seemed pleased.
"You killed my comrades and took out the elements needed to wield the holy swords?" Kiba was trembling with anger, his tears of rage dripping onto his blade.
"Yes. This crystal is from back then. I already used up three of them on Freed here. This is the last one actually… would be a shame if something happened to it. What with it being the last of what remains of your dearest comrades and all." Balba without a hint of remorse, dropped the crystal and crushed it beneath his boot. Blue mist emerged from underneath the sole of Balba's boot and rose into the sky. Like a spirit leaving its body to pass on to the next world. "I don't need this anymore… My research has evolved to the point where I can mass-produce these crystals in the right environment."
"Ah… ahhh…" Kiba fell to his knees, and reached out for a piece of the crystal, the last that remained of his comrades. Holding it tightly and close to his heart.
"Soon, with the help of Kokabiel and his army. I will have an army of Holy sword users and wage war against Michael and the Vatican with the combined Excaliburs. I will gather every single holy sword in this world! And destroy those foolish Angels and their followers who have convicted me!"
Going unnoticed by Balba, Kokabiel snorted at the mad man's declaration. "Anyway, it's been nice. But I sorta have to cut down that devil witch up there." Freed peaked up to Raven whom was still doing her chants in an attempt to cancel out Kokabiel and Balba's plan to destroy the town. "So, please… step aside." Freed sadistically smirked at Xenovia, whom didn't flinch still holding Freed at bay.
While Xenovia and Freed dueled it out with their Excalibur blades. Kiba sat there in misery. Cursing his life. Cursing himself for being so weak. Why? Why exactly was he the only one to survive? Why him? Was it okay for him to stay alive, when even children far younger than him had their lives cut short? As Kiba's mind ran rampant, a blue thin light began surrounding him. Coming from the remnants of the crystal Balba destroyed.
Kiba could feel it, the warmth of his comrades. Like they were all embracing him. Like they were all here with him. Balba was wrong, that crystal wasn't the only thing that was left of them. His comrades had left behind a far better legacy. And he was it. He could hear them whisper to him. As long as he lived, parts of them would as well. They are a part of him. Kiba gripped onto his sword, a strange light with a mixture of a demonic essence coming from it.
"Huh?" Balba looked at what was happening before him. He couldn't believe it. "Demonic… but at the same time… holy… don't tell me?"
Kiba rose to his feet, his eyes burning with passion. And anger towards Balba. With a mighty war cry Kiba held his sword up high. Its energy shining like a beacon in the night. The ground trembling beneath Balba's feet causing him to fall over.
"Yuuto…" Rias uttered at the sight of her dearest Knight.
"My, my, what interesting development." Kokabiel hummed.
"The Knight. He has achieved it." Ddraig spoke from Issei's gauntlet.
"Achieved it? Achieved what?" Issei questioned looking to the dragon in his arm for answers.
"Balance Breaker."
The feeling of Kiba's new awoken power, even reached within the cube of darkness with Itachi and Amon. "A holy and demonic energy mixing together?" Itachi questioned, feeling the source of it to which he smiled. "Well, looks like Kiba has progressed." Itachi then looked to the battle before him. Amon standing there, his eyes burning with intense anger and rage. Not bothering to care or respond to this new strange sensation coming from outside. All he cared about, was that Itachi was standing in his way. 'Guess I should finish things up here on my end.'
"Get out of my way, Devil!" Amon hissed at Itachi, his hands twitching and his eyes hungry for revenge.
Itachi remained silent. He was so used to seeing that look of desire for vengeance. So used to it, that it didn't bother him. "… You know, ever since I let you and your sister go that day. Other devils have speculated if I let you go out of fear. I heard people whispering at parties and all sorts of gatherings. Who is stronger? The Angel of Death Amon? Or, the young sinful Sitri? Let's find out, shall we?"
And thus, the two warriors clashed with their auras. A dark cool demonic blue, and a shining bright beacon of light resembling the sun. Amon charged right at him with a right hook, and Itachi caught his fist. The vibration from these two clashing caused the space within the cube to tremble. Itachi attempted to use his sharingan now that Amon and he could lock eyes, although Amon's light shined like the sun stinging Itachi's eyes. On instinct Itachi closed his eyes shut from the burning pain of this blinding holy light. Amon however, unaffected by the light being his own landed the first blow. Amon elbowed Itachi straight into his face. The holy light from Amon's aura, leaving a burn mark on Itachi's right cheek.
Unable to open his eyes, Itachi suffered a second blow. An upper cut punch straight into his chest. Amon's fist pushing in and hitting Itachi straight into his ribcage, and sending a shockwave to Itachi's heart. The piercing pain causing Itachi to spit out drops of blood. Itachi from the sheer force of the punch, reacted by attempting to open his eyes to which he was blinded by the blurry bright white holy light. All he managed to see was the figure of Amon's silhouette.
Yet seeing the silhouette was all he needed to predict Amon's next move. As shown when Itachi caught Amon's fist. If his eyes were no good in this fight. Itachi needed to focus on his other senses in this battle. Ironically, this is where a devil's natural weakness could come into play. Itachi's devil body would react the nearer he is holy objects. Such as holy angelic light. Which he confirmed with those two punches Amon landed earlier. Yet the mere second gap he had at dodging, wasn't that much to work on.
Amon's eyes glinted, and shot out beams of holy light. Itachi could feel the incoming heat. And thus, tilted his head sideways avoiding the beams by a mere inch. The beams burnt Itachi's face and the upper part of his shoulder, without even making direct contact. Water rose from the ground, the moisture in the dirt expanding into a basketball sized sphere of water.
Itachi flung his right arm forward, shooting a powerful beam of water towards Amon's face, Amon quickly reacted by holding up his left arm to block the beam. The force of the water so powerful that it tore off pieces of Amon's skin. Amon focused the light from his body, expanding it into an angelic light energy-based sphere. The sphere pushing the water beam back, and blowing up into Itachi's face knocking him back into the wall of the cube.
Amon threw his right arm behind his back. Charging up an intense glowing energy blast of light with the tip taking the shape of a spear. And with a mighty thrust of his arm, Amon shot out a massive wave of light with the tip shaped as an angelic spear of light. Itachi while picking himself up, could feel the incoming heat. He barely had time to jump out of the way, and the light cut into the upper left of his abdomen. The blast of light then collided with the wall of the cube, and blasted right through like a rocket. Seeing Itachi avoid the blast, Amon shot eye beams of light sending it piercing straight through Itachi's chest.
"Urgh!" Itachi coughed up drops of blood, his face twitching in pain as he fell over.
The breach in her cube, knocked Raven out of her concentration to deactivate the magic circle that threatened to destroy the town. Raven quickly had to focus on restoring the cube, unaware of her master's current state. And once that was done, she returned her focus to the magic circle.
Xenovia and Freed clashed, Freed's superior Excalibur sending Xenovia skidding backwards. The ground dragging up underneath the sole of her feet. "Ha! Ha! Face it, your singular Excalibur, can't compare to my Excalibur which is four times the amount of awesome!"
"… If my Excalibur isn't enough. Then…" Xenovia held her Excalibur in her left hand. And held her right hand out in the air. "Saint Peter. Saint Basil the Great. Saint Denis. Holy-mother Mary. Please hear my voice." Xenovia began chanting something. The space before Xenovia's right hand looked distorted. Xenovia put her hand right in, and pulled something out from the dimensional gap. A sword, a sword emitting a holy aura. "In the names of the saints whom reside withing this blade. I will release it. Durandal!" Xenovia pulled out a legendary sword, a sword said to rival Excalibur in its glory days.
"A Durandal?! You were not the wielder of the Excalibur?!" Balba questioned in shock, and with a look of terror on his face. "Impossible! According to my research, we haven't reached the stage where someone can wield Durandal! Even in the Vatican, they haven't made someone who can wield Durandal artificially."
"Unlike those common artificial holy-sword wielders like Irina. I'm a natural born wielder. I am the wielder of Durandal, whom was also granted a fragment of the Excalibur for this mission." To Xenovia's words, Balba was speechless.
"This might prove too difficult for even Freed. Get her!" Kokabiel ordered and thus more than ten Fallen Angels charged down on Xenovia with a light spear in hand.
Xenovia slid her right leg back, knelt down with the blue holy-sword Durandal raised. And once the Fallen Angels were within range, Xenovia swung her body. And with a mighty slice, she not only cut through the light spears but also right into the Fallen Angels themselves. "Durandal can cut through anything it touches.
"Are you serious?! You damn bitch! That's unfair!" Freed whined seeing Xenovia cut down so many Fallen Angels in less than a second.
Kiba held his new sword in his hands. The sword created by holy energy from the feelings of hid deceased comrades. And demonic from his now devil body. "Balance Breaker… Sword of the Betrayer." The name fell natural upon his tongue. "Xenovia… step aside. Time to see, how powerful the feelings of me and my comrades are." Kiba eyed the crazed stray priest Freed.
"Ha! Some ghosts give you a pep talk, and you expect to beat me with my ultimate Excalibur!" Freed charged at Kiba, the large Excalibur dragging at the ground.
'My comrades, pieces of their spirit reside within this maniac.' Kiba stood ready for Freed's assault, calm as the river. There was no way he would let Freed continue his evil deeds using the power of his comrade's spirits. "…. I will become a sword. I shall become the sword of Buchou and my comrades." Kiba's Sword of the Betrayer flared up in a powerful mixture of holy and demonic energy.
Freed jumped at Kiba, the Excalibur being swung down towards Kiba's head. Kiba quickly held his blade up, blocking the strike. Freed landed and aimed for Kiba's abdomen. Kiba held his sword down to counter the blow. Freed then span his body around, attempting to hit the hilt of his Excalibur into Kiba's chin and knock him off balance. Yet instead, Kiba swung his sword down on Freed. Cutting through the Excalibur like butter, and down from his shoulder to the side of his stomach.
Kiba glared at Freed whom gave confusing gasps. Freed stared in confusion as he saw blood coming out from his cut, and at seeing half the blade of his Excalibur falling in a clank onto the ground. "M-My… Excalibur-chan…" Freed wheezed as he fell to the ground.
"Our power… has surpassed the Excalibur." Kiba looked satisfied. Although despite his words, he knew it would have been far more difficult if he faced the original Excalibur. "Now…" Kiba looked to Balba. "Balba Galilei, prepare yourself."
Kiba's warning didn't bother Balba, he was more bothered by what Kiba was holding. "Ho-Holy Demonic sword? Impossible… the polar opposite of two things cannot merge…! I see! I understand now! Holy and demonic. It will be an explanation, if the beings that represent the two become unbalanced! Then that means!"
"I don't care…" Kiba walked towards Balba, ready to slice Balba's throat. Only when Kiba was right before him, Balba reacted.
"W-Wait a minute! You don't understand! I just made major revelation, a life time changing discovery! Please wait-" Balba was silenced by Kiba slicing open Balba's throat. Balba stood before Kiba, gurgling and drowning in his own blood. While his eyes desperately looking to Kokabiel. Whom merely smirked down on him, knowing what conclusion Balba reached.
"Tsk, tsk, Balba you were indeed brilliant for a mere human. The fact you managed to reach that conclusion is proof enough. However, you still would have perished tonight. If not by their hand, then certainly by mine… My test subjects, commence to the next stage!" Kokabiel declared, to which his four six-winged angels that have been taking on Damian, Eto, Jack and Kuroka departed from battle.
Each of them held a syringe of Amon's blood and DNA. "Yes, my lord!" They all declared. And each of them inserted it into their necks without a single hesitation. The four Fallen Angels froze, their bodies trembling to which they dropped the empty syringes in their hands. "AAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!" They all let out a painful scream as their bodies began moving strangely, their muscles began expanding. Veins bulging from all around their bodies as a reaction to Amon's blood. What followed next, was light emitting from their bodies in the same fashion as Amon.
"Well then, shall we continue… miss Gremory?" Kokabiel looked back to the Gremory princess. Rias flew into the air, and with her new increased power and speed she flew around Kokabiel. Circling around the warmonger. Kokabiel followed after Rias with his eyes, preparing for an incoming attack.
Damian, Eto, Jack and Kuroka stood defensive around Raven, to make sure no one came in her way to defuse the magic circle. And on que, the four Fallen Angels appeared. All filled with cold blooded smirks, their blood pumping with excitement to bathe in a devil's blood. "Well, one for each of us~" Eto licked her lips in excitement.
"Jeez, these looks their giving me is creeping me out. Is this how girls feel when my other self peeps at them?" Damian shuddered, his fingers twitching to stealthily move his strings.
"They do remind us of you." Jack summoned forth dual wield daggers that let out a demonic aura, as she stood back to back with Damian.
"Nya, let's see if they are as tough as their boss makes them out to be." Kuroka went into a fighting stance, generating blue balls of fire around her.
Within Raven's cube, Amon still illuminated in a brilliant blinding light. Amon stared down at Itachi, noticing the young Sitri's hand twitching. Itachi jumped right back up, his body starting to glow strangely. Amon raised his brow feeling Itachi's power rise. "What is this? What have you done?"
"… If I can't fight with my eyes. Then I will just have to use my other senses." Itachi declared getting into a stance, his wounds looking somewhat healed as the bleeding stopped. "Senjutsu: Touki." Itachi flared up his touki aura, his eyes remaining closed. With the enhanced senses of his touki he would have far greater chances against Amon.
"No matter…" Amon charged right back at Itachi, throwing a punch. Yet to his surprise, Itachi effortlessly and elegantly dodged it. Grapping onto Amon's wrist while pushing his other hand on Amon's back. Itachi threw the Fallen Angel into the ground, holding him in a lock hold that threatened to dislocate Amon's shoulder.
"I say it does." Itachi retorted stepping on Amon at the back of the head, pushing his face to the ground. "Give up, killing Rias isn't going to bring your sister back."
"I know… but it will be justice! If it was your sister you would do the same thing!" Amon argued, and Itachi couldn't help but feel some sympathy. He probably would, but things were slightly different in Amon's case.
"I would… but there is a difference." Itachi said earning him a look from Amon. "My sister didn't pick a fight she knew she couldn't win. Your sister did, she died due to her own stupidity."
Amon's eyes burned with rage at hearing those harsh words, his body trembling as he remembered what Kokabiel said to him. "Sadly, my young friend. Raynare is dead. She gave her life trying to revive you." Amon gritted his teeth, and he clenched his fist into the dirt. "My sister died to bring me back…! She risked her life for mine! So don't you dare call her stupid!" Amon's body burst to life with pure angelic light, the light scorching a burning hot to Itachi's devil body forcing him to leap away.
Itachi released a chilling icy air around him to cool off his body. "Even so… it doesn't justify her actions!" Itachi remembered the mangled corpse of an old woman whom was a dear friend of his. He remembered hearing about what Raynare did to Issei and Asia. Itachi started dodging as a series of light enhanced punches came his way. Itachi was surprised, Amon was fast, the speed behind his punches gave even Itachi's touki enhanced speed a tough time to keep up with. "And killing Rias for giving the killing blow certainly wouldn't solve anything!" Itachi caught both of Amon's fist, both locked in a standoff trying to push the other back. Despite his touki enhanced strength, Amon's strength matched Itachi's. Neither of them would budge.
"… You seem quite close with miss Gremory! With you being so defensive of her and all! Is she precious to you?" Amon asked, a terrifying thought bubbling in the back of his head.
"…" Itachi had a good idea of what Amon was fishing for. "Yes." With this answer, Amon would know he wasn't lying. One, it was the truth. Two, regardless Rias was close to him and Itachi would probably say it to protect her.
Amon smirked, even though Itachi couldn't see it, he could feel it. "Then killing you, will be my perfect revenge to miss Gremory." Amon's malicious eyes glinted as he prepared to shot eye beams of light again. Itachi could feel it charging up, and quickly tapped his foot to the ground. Sending an ice spike popping up from the ground in-between them. So, Amon's eye beams reflected from the ice and back into his own eyes. "Argh!" Amon backed up while robbing his sore eyes.
Itachi rushed Amon, throwing an upper cut to his jaw. Itachi took a short leap into the air, and delivered a drop kick right into Amon's face. Sending him face down into the ground that sank into a small crater.
Fire Magic: Nova!
Itachi charged up a massive sphere of fire, and blasted it into Amon. Creating a massive explosion, the entire cube of darkness filled up with a burning fire like a furnace.
Itachi felt around the cube for Amon's energy, yet it was difficult to pick up on him. Amon's energy was everywhere. Itachi's brow twitched as his senses spiked. Amon came soaring out like a phoenix from the fire, and punched Itachi across the face. The light around his fist leaving a print on Itachi's face in the form of a burn.
Itachi held out right hand, twisting his wrist a bit creating a blue magic circle right in front of Amon's face. Then shooting out from the magic circle, a massive shark made out of pure water. The shark snapping its jaw shut onto Amon's waist.
Water Sharkbomb!
Itachi clenched his hand, and the shark exploded. The intense force of the water leaving slash and cut marks on Amon's body. Making it resemble bites from an actual shark. Itachi couldn't see, but he could feel Amon's glare burning into him.
"I can't wait to bring your corpse out to miss Gremory. So she can feel the same despair I'm feeling." Amon went into a stance, holding his hands out. Then generating out from his hands were short blades of light. Three in total on each hand, then the light blades began spinning around his hands like an electric saw. The spinning blades resembling saucers.
Death Saucers!
Itachi in responds created dual wield blades out of demonic ice. Both warriors charging at each other. Their movements were swift and fast, too fast for the untrained eye to catch up on. Blurring images of their arms and attacks were all one could see. The occasional cut and slice that would appear out of nowhere on the individual warrior's body.
Their speed and skill were nearly evenly matched, although soon it became clearer who had the better fighting ability. Amon was being pushed back, Itachi's level of skill was too much for the Angel of Death to keep up with. Whereas Amon was purely focused on landing a blow on Itachi. Itachi was more focused on landing a blow that would be critical. Itachi moved his blade like an experienced surgeon, every cut every slice was precise.
Amon was amazed, Itachi's technique was unlike anything he had ever witnessed. There was no known Devil that fought like this! These precise movements were more like that of an assassin. Yet unlike an assassin that focused only on stealth and speed, Itachi held power behind his attacks as well. 'What is he?! How does he fight like this?!' Amon began feeling the pressure, started slipping up and making mistakes. Mistakes Itachi took advantage off. 'He has his damn eyes closed! Yet he is still this precise?!' Amon thought in disbelief. Itachi Sitri, was no ordinary Devil.
Amon ducked away from a slash from Itachi's ice blade. Although Itachi had predicted it, and sent an ice geyser blasting up from the ground bellow Amon. Pushing the Angel of Death up by his back. Amon gawked, the ice cutting through his skin. Amon quickly moved his light saucer hands, cutting the ice pushing him. Giving him time to fly away from the ever-growing ice geyser.
Then in a flash, Itachi appeared behind Amon. Amon detecting his presence turned around just in time, to get dropkicked in the face. Amon plummeted back down to the ground, making quite the impact that shook the cube. "Ugh!" Amon grunted, and tried to pick himself back up. But then coming back down, was Itachi. And he lodged his ice blade straight through Amon's abdomen, avoiding any vital spots.
From the cold ice stabbing through him, Amon vomited out a puddle of blood. He glared at the calm looking Itachi, who's eyes were still closed. "You got skill I will give you that…! But you are still a Devil!" Out from Amon's body exploded a wave of light, the burning scorching light pushing Itachi off from Amon.
"… I might be a Devil. And my body might be vulnerable to light. But, don't make the mistake of thinking that will be enough to defeat me." Itachi gave a fair warning to Amon. The Angel of Death plucking out the ice blade lodged into his abdomen like it was nothing. "Overestimating once own ability, will lead to certain doom. Keep that in mind."
"… Very well, then let me throw those words right back at you. If you think your skill will be enough to avoid my light forever, then you are mistaken." Amon held his arms in a position, like he was holding a bow and arrow. And just like that, a bow and arrow were constructed out of pure light. The bow carrying three golden arrows. "Accept your fate… at the hands of the Angel of Death."
Arrows of Judgment
Amon released the golden arrows, and they soared into the sky and towards Itachi. "Defense Magic Circle: Maximum level!" Itachi in responds created three magic circles to counter the three arrows. The arrows lodged into the magic circles, not budging our bouncing off. The arrows attempted to force their way through. Blue and yellow lightning sparked between the arrows and the magic circles.
Itachi kept his focus on the magic circles, sweating and grinding his teeth in the struggle to keep the arrows back. Itachi had noticed Amon attempting to circle around him and attack from behind, with his saucer hands. "Naïve." Itachi grunted as he summoned forth his familiar crows.
The crows lunging at Amon, Amon mercilessly cut down every crow he saw. Although then, a hand shot out from the murder of crows. And Itachi shot out, kneeing Amon in the chin. Followed by a second Itachi, blasting Amon with a fire shot. And then three more that threw ice made kunai knifes at Amon. Amon cut down the ice kunai blades with his light saucer blade hands. "Clones?"
That's right, with his familiar Itachi could not only create illusions. But he could also have the crows create clones of him. Each clone carried 10% of Itachi's full power. The clones went in for the attack, some managing to cut and slice Amon with ice blades. But Amon was able to slice through them with his light saucers, to which the clone exploded in a murder of crows and scattered. Amon sliced through all the clones, and seeing Itachi in clear sight. Amon noticed the light arrows were about to break through the magic circles.
Arrow of Judgment!
Without hesitation Amon shot Itachi in the back with an arrow of light. The arrow piercing straight through Itachi's chest. "Urgh!" Blood ran down from Itachi's mouth as he lowered his arms. And his magic circles beginning to fade and weaken. Then Amon's light arrows pierced through, and straight into Itachi. Hitting his right and left shoulder, and the final arrow hitting his abdomen.
"Justice…" Amon smirked, although for some reason he didn't feel better from Itachi's death. He didn't feel anything other than, regret? Did he regret killing Itachi? No, his death would be his vengeance against miss Gremory for killing Raynare. Yeah, once he saw the look on Rias' face when she saw Itachi dead. Then he would feel satisfied. Wouldn't he?
Amon's thoughts were interrupted, by the sound of a bell. The image of Itachi before him became blurry. Everything began shaking, the very space vibrating. "What is this-" Amon then hurls up a puddle of blood. 'Huh?' Amon was confused. Why was three of his own light arrows lodged into his shoulders and abdomen?
"My crows not only create copies of myself. They create illusions for me." Itachi's voice rang in his ear, and Amon twisted his head around to the side. Seeing Itachi, unharmed his eyes still closed due to Amon's blinding light. "I have other ways of creating illusions, without the use of my eyes."
Amon fumed with rage, plucking his own arrows out from his body. "Damn you!" Amon roared and blasted a wave of light towards Itachi.
"You are starting to slip up."
Fire Magic: Nova!
Itachi countered the light wave, with a giant blazing ball of fire. The two attacks imploding into a brilliant explosion.
Outside of the cube, Jack ran across a lane created from Damian's strings to gain distance from the six-winged Fallen Angel cashing her. "Rebellion!" Jack shot down six demonic blades at the Fallen Angel, yet the Fallen Angel pushed through. Almost like he didn't feel pain from the buff of Amon's DNA.
Kuroka had her Fallen Angel trapped within a space barrier, using her space-time manipulation. And filling that barrier with her Youjutsu ability, Poison Mist. Despite the effects of the poison mist restraining the female six-winged Fallen Angel's body. She still plowed through and lashed out at the space time barrier. It was like pain itself didn't bother them. Kuroka watched as her mirages, blasted the Fallen Angel from inside the barrier using Senjutsu aura bullets. The Fallen Angel blasted through, and ripped through Kuroka's mirages one after the other.
"My, my, quite troublesome. Nya. Should I try cutting off her head perhaps? That should stop her." Kuroka placed her right hand to her chin, as she watched the raging Fallen Angel inside of her space barrier.
Damian stayed on the defensive, trapping his six-winged Fallen Angel within his strings in an attempt to strangle him. Yet the Fallen Angel would just smile and laugh, and his muscles grow bigger and break free from the strings. "His magic power… it's increasing by the second." Damian analyzed as his strings had a harder time as time passed by, to negate the light attacks from the Fallen Angel.
Tentacles were being ripped apart, as the fourth Fallen Angel charged through Eto's attacks. Eto cackled in sync with the Fallen Angel, having the time of her life. Eto would stop up to bombard the Fallen Angel with flaming crystalized pieces of her kakuja. "Ah~ Ah~ Fallen Angel-san!" Eto's kakuja cackled in a creepy voice, as it attempted to sink its fangs into the Fallen Angel. It wasn't easy telling who was the villain out of these two.
Meanwhile, Kokabiel and Rias were still fighting it out in the sky. Rias' red aura mixed with a hint of green from Issei's transfer earlier. Rias mostly bounced around in the sky Kokabiel, avoiding his attacks. "How long do you plan to run?! Rias Gremory!" Kokabiel cackled as he unleashed a barrage fire of light spears.
Little to Kokabiel's knowledge, for each bounce she took Rias left behind a bit of her demonic power. In the form of a tiny magic circle. "Oh, I don't know… maybe about three more times?" Rias replied with a smirk, as she made the three final leaps.
"Huh?" Kokabiel questioned, as suddenly the tiny specks of demonic power left from Rias, expanded into gigantic magic circles. circling around Kokabiel, Trapping him like a bird in a cage. "What is this?"
"Oh, just my little cage you damn bird… now." Rias stretched her hands out, creating seven destruction spheres. The spheres highly concentrated and dense in power, at the size of dodgeballs. "How about some dodgeball?" Rias playfully smirked, as she tossed her destruction spheres into the cage. Kokabiel dodged them of course, however the destruction sphere bounced away from the magic circles and right back at Kokabiel.
"Oh shit!" Kokabiel was clobbered in the face by one sphere, and the rest came clobbering in after. Kokabiel was locked in a cage of pain. Each time the spheres collided with him, they would fly into the magic circle wall and bounce right back at Kokabiel. To Kokabiel, it was like being stuck and clobbered by balls of titanium, that's how dense the spheres were. And with speed that surpassed that of a bullet added, Kokabiel was dealt heavy damage.
Kokabiel was unable to react, he didn't even have a second to think before the next sphere clobbered into him. Yet one thing didn't escape his vision, Rias couldn't keep this up forever. The green light mixed in her aura was already fading, she was losing the extra power given to her by Issei. "Servants! Ouf! Help! Argh! Your! Ungh! Master!" Kokabiel was clobbered with a sphere between every word.
His message got across none the less. And the Fallen Angels went in to attack Rias. Although, their attacks were halted as Rias was surrounded by a barrier of darkness. "Raven?" Rias looked up, seeing the bishop of Itachi hovering over her.
"I have destroyed the magic circle threatening to destroy the town. Deal with that warmonger, and I will keep his goons off your back." Raven alone stood before twenty Fallen Angels. And easily pushed them back with a wave of darkness coming their way.
"No way!"
"These devils are too powerful!" The Fallen Angels began to panic. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Devils were taking them all on like it was a fair fight.
"Master!" Three of the Six-winged Fallen Angels abandoned their fights with Jack, Damian and Eto to help their master. While Kuroka still had her opponent trapped in a space barrier.
The three six-winged Fallen Angels latched onto the barrier surrounding Kokabiel. "Oh, no you don't!" Raven restrained them using her magic, although that left her back open to attack. Luckily the opponents of the three Fallen Angels followed, and Jack, Damian and Eto attacked the crowd of Fallen Angels.
"M-Master!" The three Fallen Angels cried as they tried to fight through Raven's restraint. And with their boost of light from Amon's DNA, they were close to actually break free.
"S-Stay! Put!" Raven began sweating as she felt her hold on them weakening.
"Master!" The six-winged Fallen Angel trapped in Kuroka's barrier, banged into the barrier trying to reach Kokabiel.
"It's no use, face it you've lost. Nya." Kuroka created more mirages of her, to bombard the Fallen Angel inside the barrier.
That only angered the Fallen Angel, its frustration growing further. And it pushed for more power from Amon's DNA. The light around it glowed brighter than ever before. "Master! Master! Master!"
"Has your mind been destroyed girl? I don't like that crazy look in your eye. Reminds me too much of Eto… Nya." Kuroka shivered. Then she began noticing something, the light from the Fallen Angel began blinking. "Nya?" And for each blink more light emitted from her.
"Maaaassstttteer!" With that last scream, the Fallen Angel suddenly exploded. Overloaded from trying to push too much power out from Amon's DNA.
"Nya?!" Kuroka looked stunned as the explosion blew even through her space barrier, knocking her down. "Wh-What was that?"
Raven grew more annoyed at the struggle from the three other Fallen Angels infused with Amon's DNA. Raven's eyes glowed red, and she grew an extra pair over those that also glowed red. "Stand down!" Raven's voice was booming, and even resembled Trigon's own voice a bit.
"AAARRGGGHHHH!" The three Fallen Angels cried as their bodies expanded, and the light grew brighter with them. Raven just added more pressure onto them. And then, the three self-destructed from overheating, and exploded knocking Raven out from the air. And breaking the barrier surrounding Rias knocking her out of the sky as well. But most of all, it set Kokabiel free as well.
Kokabiel dusted himself off, and spat some blood of to the side from Rias' attacks earlier. "… I see, Amon's DNA was too much for them to handle. The more they struggled, they overheated and thus self-destructed. Note to self, need, stronger test subjects." One would think Kokabiel would be troubled by this, yet far from it. "Oh, well… plan B." Kokabiel looked to the cube of darkness where Itachi and Amon were fighting. And the cube itself began to vanish now that Raven was knocked out.
Kokabiel snickered, and raised the index and middle finger of his right hand. To which, out from the destroyed Excalibur that Freed used shot out four Excalibur cores. "Now then," Kokabiel flew down before Xenovia. "I will be taking the core of your Excalibur as well."
"Never! I refuse to let you tarnish the Holy Sword Excalibur any further. In the name of God, I shall strike you down!" Xenovia charged at Kokabiel, with duel wielded blades. Her Excalibur as well as her Durandal. Kokabiel merely laughed at that declaration.
"Brave words, for one who no longer has a master to serve, a master who is dead!" Kokabiel caught her Excalibur with his fingers, no matter how hard she tried it wouldn't budge. And then he also caught Durandal with his other hand.
"What did you mean by that?!" Xenovia glared at Kokabiel, his words not having escaped her ears. "What do you mean by my master is dead?!"
"Oops! It's just slipped! I always forget the truth was never revealed to you lower life trash!" Kokabiel laughed, struggling to regain his composure.
"What do you mean?!" Xenovia's voice roared, and now everyone was paying attention.
"Seeing as I am trying to start a war, it doesn't matter anymore anyway. Very well, I shall tell you. In the war between the Three Factions, not only the four Maous but also God died!" Kokabiel declared, and everyone was frozen in shock.
"W-What?" Xenovia trembled, sweat pouring down her face. She was so shocked, Kokabiel just pulled the Excalibur out from her grasp.
"It's normal for you guys not to know about it. Who can say that God has died? Humans are an incompetent bunch! Without God, they cannot control their hearts and obey the laws, you know? Even us, the Fallen Angels, and even the devils couldn't tell this to those below us. Only the people at the top know this information, you all should feel grateful for me being so kind as to provide it. Heck, Balba himself actually managed to figure it out before he died."
"N-No, that can't be true…" Xenovia looked in disbelief, a look shared with Asia.
"After the war, what was left were the angels who had lost their God. The devils that lost their Maou and the majority of High-class devils. Even us the Fallen Angels lost many apart from our leaders. All the factions fell so low, we had to rely on the pathetic weak humans to continue our generations. We Fallen Angels can increase our numbers by mating with humans. And any Angel that tries will fall and increase our numbers. The Angels couldn't increase their numbers without God. And Pure devils are rare, right?"
"Lies…. All lies…" Asia's lips trembled.
"The truth is that another big war wouldn't happen unless one would trigger it. That's why the Three Factions were on edge with each other, anything could become a declaration of war! They are all too focused on the hell they went through in the last war! Everyone decided a new war was meaningless! Even that bastard Azazel declared there would be no second war after he lost so many men in the war! It's hard to bear! It truly is hard to bear! We lowered our guns when we had such an opportunity?! Don't fuck with me! If the war had continued, the Fallen Angels would have won! Even so! He….! That bastard! Only interests himself in humans and their damn Sacred Gears! It infuriates me to no end! I will kill Azazel! I will become the next Governor! And I will declare a new war! One where neither side will stop, until one is left standing! And that side will be the Fallen Angels!" Kokabiel took slow breaths to cool himself, his face still clearly seething with anger.
"… God doesn't exist? God… is dead? But what about the love we were given by him?!" Asia shouted at Kokabiel, whom responded with a malicious laughter.
"Ah, yes, Michael is doing quite a good job on that front. He is using God's system quite well in his absence. Michael has taken the place of God and is taking care of Angels and humans. God even dead, left behind a system. So that the prayer to God, the blessing of God and exorcism would function. But, if you compare it to the time God was present, the number of believers has decreased significantly. That Holy-demonic sword brat over there was able to create the Holy-demonic sword because the balance between God and the Maou broke. In reality, Holy and Demonic powers cannot merge. If the ones who rule the power of Holy and Demonic powers, God and the Maou, disappear, then lots of unique phenomenon such as this occur. Is that proof enough?" Kokabiel pointed to Kiba and his Holy-demonic sword.
"No… it can't be." Asia dropped to her knees, weeping uncontrollably.
While Xenovia remained frozen stiff, even as Kokabiel destroyed her Excalibur she did not flinch. Kokabiel pulled out the Excalibur core and together with the other four, sent them flying towards one target. Amon, the cores flew straight into his chest. The light in him grew stronger than ever before. "AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!" Amon screamed from the pain of the cores merging with his body. Itachi was sent flying back from the intense exploding power coming from Amon.
"What are you doing?!" Rias hissed at Kokabiel.
"Simple, plan B. Merge the Excalibur cores with Amon. In order to make the ultimate weapon!" Kokabiel declared with a malicious laughter, that deafened the pained screams of Amon.
"But what if he overheats like those other Fallen Angels?!" Rias questioned.
"Amon is now a Ten-Winged Fallen Angel. His power even exceeds my own. If he is to be destroyed, then so be it. At least I would have gotten a nice test subject." Kokabiel declared.
The light around Amon grew, more and more. Itachi could feel his skin boiling. If this were to continue, Amon's light might cover the entire academy. And every single devil in the area would suffer for it. Itachi had to stop Amon right now. So, Itachi unleashed a chilling ice-cold air around him to cool his boiling body.
Itachi attempted to attack Amon up close, yet the moment his fist came near Amon. Itachi's hand started burning up, on pure reaction Itachi pulled his arm back and jumped away from Amon. The amount of power provided by the Excalibur cores had made Amon untouchable. Itachi couldn't get near him without getting burnt. Itachi arm was shaking, his entire right arm and upper torso having suffered major burns. The skin around the burns cracked upon and charcoaled black with spots of red pink flesh visible. "C-Crap…"
Amon unleashed a mighty war cry, feeling the power of the Excalibur cores merging in with his body. Light unleashing from every pore of his body. Beams of light blasted violently blasted out in every single direction. "Everyone, get out of the way!" Rias shouted and all devils took flight away from the beams. And watched, as the light even caught some Fallen Angels and blew right through them.
"Mama!" Jack shouted as Itachi was still near Amon, and therefor in danger.
"Itachi! Itachi are you there?! Answer me!" Rias frantically tried to contact Itachi through a magic circle. Tears swelling in her eyes, worried that something happened to him. Her heart nearly sank when she suddenly heart static from the other end.
"Yeah… I'm fine." Itachi replied through his link, sounding a little injured from his grunting. Everyone breathed out a sigh in relief.
Amon spewed light out from his mouth while screaming like a wild animal. This power up seeming to be too much for him to handle. "I must admit… I didn't expect this result." Kokabiel looked surprised that Amon's body struggled to accept the Excalibur cores.
"AaaarrrGGHhhhh!" Amon gripped his hands to his head, repeatedly slamming his face down into the ground.
"Oh great, he's going to unleash another scatter shot of light!" Itachi warned his friends already in the air, and took flight himself. Being in a safe distant from Amon's light Itachi could finally open his eyes. And then he saw, one standing frozen in place. Xenovia, she looked petrified, her Durandal dropped to the ground as she muttered something.
"God… is dead? God is dead… W-What am I to do?" Xenovia looked in shock, panicking over finding out about the death of her Lord.
"Xenovia!" Asia shouted, as Amon unleashed new scatter shot beams of light. This time one headed straight for Xenovia. But she was too lost in thought to even notice. "Xenovia get out of the way!" Asia shouted once more.
"Xenovia!" Issei shouted as well.
"Dammit!" Itachi unable to reach, as he had to dodge the light beams himself. "Wake up!" Itachi shouted and that seemed to snap Xenovia out of her thinking.
"Huh, what-" Xenovia stopped midsentence, as a burning sharp pain shot through her chest. A thin beam of light having pierced straight through her. Xenovia looked just confused as she fell to the ground. 'Blood?' Xenovia looked to her wound, the blood leaking out from her body at an alarming speed. The beam no doubt having cut through an artery. 'It's… my blood? I'm dying?' Xenovia looked to her blood-stained hand. 'But if there is no God… what happens to me after death? Does only darkness await me?'
All Xenovia could hear was the sound of ringing in her ears from the shock. And the faint cries of someone. A girl… crying out her name. Xenovia weakly looked up, seeing the former Holey Maiden, Asia Argento sitting by her side, using her Twilight Healing.
"Xeno… Xen…. Xenoiva…" All Xenovia heard were the faint whisper like sound of Asia's voice calling out to her as she attempted to heal her. "Don't worry, I will heal you. You are going to be okay." Xenovia confused, curiously looked at Asia's struggling concentrated face. She tried to pour what power she had left to heal Xenovia and stop the bleeding.
"Asia! How much longer?!" Issei, Kiba and Koneko held of any Fallen Angels that tried to attack them.
"I… I don't know… my power is running low… I need more time…" Asia looked pale, pale from using too much power. Having gone around and healed mostly everyone today. "Please… let me make it…" Asia pleaded.
'Why? Why would you heal me?' Is all Xenovia can think about, as she watched the former nun struggling to bring out what power she had left to heal her. Asia not seeming to notice the confusion on Xenovia's face, simply assures her everything is going to be okay. 'Those tears… don't make you very convincing…' Xenovia thought as Asia began to weep, at the sight of her Twilight Healing rings fading away, due to her running out of power.
"Issei-san! Can you please transfer your power over to me?!" Asia looks to Issei for help, the Red Dragon boy looking with a grim face.
"Sorry, it would take a bit to charge it up before I can use it… I'm sorry, Asia…" Issei was amazed, despite having told Asia that Xenovia called her names such as witch. Asia still wanted to save Xenovia.
"No… no…" Asia grabs her old nun hood, attempting to put pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding. The hood was quickly stained red from Xenovia's blood. Asia's tears dripped onto the tired heavy looking eyes of Xenovia.
'She is crying? Crying for me? The one I called a witch… the one I said God did not love… is crying for me?' Xenovia looks in absolute confusion at Asia's unnecessary kindness towards her.
"Oh father in heaven- Argh!" Asia gripped her head as she got a splitting headache. "P-Please… spare this young soul's life…Ouch!" Asia started to weep now from the intense stabbing pain in her brain. "Please give me the strength, to save one of your children…Ah!"
'God is dead… and yet she is praying to him?' At this Xenovia recalls the words spoken to her by the Red Dragon boy. "Bastards! Asia has more faith in that damn God of yours than anyone!" Xenovia reflects on her own harsh words towards this so-called witch and heretic. At the memory of Issei's words, Xenovia blood stained lips turn into a smile. A smile as she coughs up blood from her internal injuries. 'Her faith… her belief… is far stronger than mine. I can't even hold a candle to her. Asia Argento… You, are a true Holy Maiden.' And with that as her final thought, all sign of life vanishes from Xenovia's eyes. Her face pale as a ghost. She was dead. Asia falls over into tears over having failed to save her life.
"Asia…" Issei utters and goes to give her a comforting hug. There was nothing more they could do for Xenovia. Kiba grabbed the Durandal so it wouldn't fall into Fallen Angel hands. And together with Issei, Asia and Koneko went back to Rias' side.
The holy angelic light shined brightly, soon it would cover everything within the barrier giving Itachi and the rest no place to hide from it. Itachi had to stop this now. He focused on all of his senses provided to him by his touki aura. Closing his eyes, he sprinted in towards Amon. Feeling the incoming energy, and the heat radiating from it, Itachi was able to avoid the blasts near him just in time.
"D… Die!" Amon grunted as he spotted Itachi, unleashing even more light beams in his direction. Unable to dodge this amount, Itachi gathered his arms together and formed a magic circle beneath him. All around Itachi appeared multiple ice crystal walls. Amon's light reflecting off from the ice crystals and redirected. "R-Raynare… he-help me…" Amon uttered, his mind falling apart from the overload by the Excalibur cores.
'That's is…' Itachi had figured out a plan. He shattered the ice walls, and sprinted towards Amon. "Fire… and water…" In his right hand Itachi generated a blazing sphere of fire. And in his left, a surge of water gathered into a giant bubble. Itachi took a giant leap over Amon, and blasted him with the blazing fire sphere.
"Argh!" Amon cried out as the fire exploded into him. Itachi didn't stop, and the water bubble exploded into a giant water serpent dragon. The water dragon coming raining down upon Amon, and with the fire exploded into a massive cloud of steam. The light around Amon shined through the steam, the light illuminating his silhouette.
Now, all he needed was for the nearly deranged Amon to focus on him. "Hey, Amon! Your sister got what she deserved! Raynare, was the one who attacked us! Had her followers kill several humans! Innocent humans! Your deranged, foolish, older sister got what she deserved when Rias blew her away into oblivion!" That did the trick.
Amon's face was twisting in agony, yet a hint of disbelief and sorrow washed over him, at hearing of Raynare's actions. "NO!" Amon blasted three light beams towards Itachi, and on que, Itachi formed one giant ice crystal before him. The light blasting into the ice, and the glassy ice reflecting the beams shooting back at Amon. Blasting the Fallen Angel straight into his eyes blinding him. "Argh!" Amon held his hands over his sore eyes.
The light around Amon died down for a second, to ease the pain on his sore eyes. And that was all Itachi needed. Itachi flashed his sharingan to life as he opened his eyes, seeing the steam particles in Amon's body. And quickly Itachi focused on those particles, finding the Excalibur cores near the center of Amon's chest. "Steam Manipulation: Invisible Sword!"
With a slash of his arm, a large cut burst open in Amon's chest. Blood gushing out like a fountain, carrying the Excalibur cores with them. The cores falling into the blood puddle, rolling towards Itachi.
The light around Amon vanished, his eyes and body relaxed now that the Excalibur cores were out from his body. Amon's eyes rolled back. His eyes closed as he passed out in the puddle of his own blood. Itachi panted, his injuries burning with intense pain once he could relax. Having exhausted his stamina Itachi fell onto his ass.
"A-Amon…! I-Impossible, he defeated Amon." Kokabiel looked in disbelief, his prized fighter, his warrior that had even surpassed Kokabiel's own power. Was defeated, defeated at the hands of Itachi Sitri. Then, a wash of a calm feeling washed over Kokabiel. If Itachi was stronger than him, Amon had at least incapacitated him from further battle today. "Let's end this then…" Kokabiel formed a spear of light, although was intercepted by an incoming sphere of destruction.
Kokabiel flew back, seeing an angered Rias coming in for the attack. "Coward! I refuse to let you near Itachi!"
"The Red Dragon's boost of your power has expired with that little cage you trapped me in earlier. You don't stand a chance against me, Gremory!" Kokabiel and Rias clashed once again.
Raven flew to Itachi. "Just hold up, I will heal you right away." Raven assured but for some reason Itachi stopped her.
"He is in far more critical condition… save him." Itachi pointed to the bloodied unconscious Amon. Raven looked in disbelief at what Itachi was saying.
"He's the enemy, he could kill you-" Raven protested.
"Then just heal him to the extent where he isn't in danger anymore. You only have to stop the bleeding." Itachi didn't budge to Raven's protest.
"Why though?"
"… Because, I understand what he is going through. I would probably have reacted similar if someone killed Sona or Serafall." He held sympathy for Amon, as a fellow brother he could understand his pain.
"But he tried to destroy the town. His sister killed people for him."
"Kokabiel and Balba wanted to destroy the town… Amon just got caught up in the middle, and ended up seeking vengeance for his sister's death. And, Raynare's crimes, are not his crimes."
"But-"
"Don't argue, I am your master. And I order you to save him." And with that, Raven halted and merely nodded her head. Hesitantly, she walked over to the bleeding Amon. Her hand stretched out, and her eyes beginning to glow white. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos." Chanting does magical words, Amon's spilled blood retracted into the cut across the center of his chest. And the bleeding stopped. Amon's eyes groggily awoke to the sight of Raven standing over him. His body still too injured to even move a muscle, and exhausted from the stress caused by the Excalibur cores.
"Wh-What happened?" Amon weakly uttered.
"… Itachi asked me to heal you. Feel grateful, otherwise you would have been dead." Raven then went over to heal Itachi, and Itachi welcomed her help. Itachi and Amon remained in silence, both merely staring at each other.
"…" Amon despite having lost control, remembered what Itachi said to him. How Raynare had killed innocent humans, all in her quest of reviving him. How she picked a fight with the devils, and that is what got her killed. The truth painfully sunk in, as Amon came to realize. Raynare's death was her own fault. His eyes filled with sadness, he just looked up into the barrier. His gaze focused beyond the barrier and at the starry sky above. Memories resurfacing from the depths of his mind, memories from four years ago.
Flashback
Amon carried a beaten Raynare in his arms, he felt frustration and fear. "That was too damn close…" Amon uttered the powers of Itachi Sitri, Esdeath and Behemoth still lingering in his mind. Amon was frustrated with Raynare, and her foolish actions that nearly got her killed.
"You could have taken him… I don't understand why we had to flee." Raynare hissed in anger, most likely over seeing Amon lowering his head to beg for forgiveness from a Devil.
"We would have died. Didn't you see those around him? General Esdeath, Serafall Levithan's queen and most trusted enforcer. Behemoth, the Earth King. A true beast. We wouldn't have gotten away with our lives…" Amon took a gamble back there. He was afraid when he faced Itachi. Unsure if Itachi even cared about the villagers in that Devil village. For a moment he thought Itachi was like all other spoiled noble devils, and would just have killed him and Raynare on the spot for glory.
Amon was pleasantly surprised to find out he was wrong. As Itachi had decided to let them go to prevent anymore harm to the villagers. It made him wonder, if all Devils weren't as bad as Kokabiel made them out to be. Gave Amon a sense of hope that peace was possible between their two races.
That all changed when a few days later, Kokabiel came to him with news. "Serafall Levithan and the other Maous demand to have Raynare executed for her crime. And to have her body brought before them."
Amon's heart sank at those words, he fell to his knees shaking in terror. He had expected something like this, and of course Azazel would comply to avoid conflict with their races. "No… dammit!"
"… I feel for you, my friend. Truly I do. Which is why I have a solution. But it means we need to go behind Azazel's back. Are you willing to do that, to save your sister?"
"…" Amon felt desperate, Raynare was all he had left. She meant everything to him. "Yes, anything… please…"
Pleased at what he heard, Kokabiel cracked a smirk as he placed his hand onto Amon's shoulder. Gently, like a father figure. "What I am about to suggest… may be… morally wrong. But it would save Raynare's life."
Amon looked hesitant for a moment. But he quickly dismissed any hesitation from his mind, he would do anything to save his sister's life. "Okay, but what is it exactly?"
"Raynare and you poor deceased sister Yuuma… They resembled each other quite a bit, yes?" Kokabiel asked, and yeah. Yuuma did look like a younger shorter version of Raynare.
"Yes, but what does that have to-" Amon widened his eyes in disbelief and backed up a bit. "S-Surely you are not suggesting…"
"Yuuma's only been dead a few days. Her corpse is hardly rotten. If we present her body, and say it is Raynare… with a few tweaks the Devils won't notice the difference."
"No, no I won't… I won't defile Yuuma's grave and body." Amon looked outraged, he looked as if he was about to tackle Kokabiel any minute now.
"We would only need her head at most… besides, this is the only way to save Raynare's life. Yuuma is already dead, and there is nothing that can be done about it. But Raynare, she is still alive and breathing. Surely saving her life, would take priority over your own moral compass. Unless… you don't really care for Raynare that much?"
With that Amon grabbed onto Kokabiel's collar glaring into his eyes with anger. "I do care! And I want to save her! But Yuuma… she's suffered enough!"
"Yuuma is dead, she's unable to suffer in death. Besides, I'm certain dear little Yuuma would have wanted this. If it would mean, her beloved older sister got to live." Amon began to weep for even thinking about this, he bit his lower lip and sank to his knees. "… We must be quick, I made sure the information was given to me before Azazel. We have a short window to act on this. It won't be long before word gets to Azazel and he orders for Raynare's execution. You must decide now, Amon."
"… You guarantee this will save Raynare's life?" Amon was on the hook, now Kokabiel just had to reel it in.
"I guarantee it."
"What of Raynare? She's going to wonder why there will be no punishment for her…"
"Don't worry I have that covered, for both of you. The devils demanded a… less harsh punishment for you." Kokabiel put Amon's mind at ease.
Amon felt sick, he was nearly worried he would vomit once he spoke these words. "Ugh! Fine… let's do it. Just please, save Raynare's life. I don't care what happens to me. She's all I have left…"
"Good, now rise my boy. We got work to do." Kokabiel patted Amon's back and they got to work. They dug up Yuuma's body, and it was still in good condition. Kokabiel had a few doctors add a few touches to Yuuma's body, to make it look more like Raynare. They then dressed it up in one of Raynare' outfits, and brought her to present the body before Serafall. And Serafall had her trusted aid Behemoth confirm the identity of the body, and Behemoth confirmed the identity of the body solving the issue. Amon was unable to continue after digging up the corpse, so Kokabiel dealt with the rest. While Amon went to tell Raynare of the "punishments" given to them.
Amon walked into a cell where Raynare was held, and she instantly rushed up to the cell bars to talk to him. "Amon! What happened?"
"… I have been demoted in rank. And will spend six months in prison. The Devils were kind enough to agree on that being my punishment." Amon got words of truth out first, before the pain would come with the lie that would follow.
"Okay… that's not so bad. And me?" Raynare looked relived, worried that the Devils would demand someone of Amon's status to be executed.
"… You uh, get about 3 years in prison." To this even Raynare looked surprised, she had expected more.
"3 years?"
"3 years."
"Nothing more?" Raynare pushed on the subject.
"No… nothing more. Kokabiel will be forced to give up pieces of his land as compensation for the lives that were lost. About 38% of his territory now belongs to the Devils." To this Raynare paled a bit, worried she would face the wrath of Kokabiel after this. "I have to go now… I will see you in 3 years okay?" Amon reached his hand through the cell bars and grabbed a hold of Raynare's hand.
"Yeah… see you in 3 years." Raynare nodded weakly and sat back in her cell, as she watched Amon walk away.
After that, Kokabiel had Amon confirm to Azazel that all Fallen Angels involved in the attack on the Devil village had been killed. Azazel being too busy to keep track of all his subordinates, takes the loyal trusting Amon's word for it. This, would be Amon's greatest regret in life. Then three years passed. And Amon and Raynare were reunited once again, which would only last a day. As Trigon and his forces attacked Kuoh Town in Japan and Amon was called in for battle. Where he would suffer a fatal injury, be put in a comatose state. And would wake the very next year to only discover Raynare was dead. And now here we are.
Flashback end
Itachi sat down, panting as he had his burns from Amon healed by Raven. Even though Raven healed his injuries, he couldn't recover his lost stamina and power from his battle against Amon. Itachi looked into the sky, seeing Rias holding off Kokabiel. Although, she was out of breath where as Kokabiel wasn't. Itachi looked around to see if anyone could take on Kokabiel. Raven couldn't without using her darker emotions to increase her powers, but that was too much of a risk. Damian and Eto were still waiting for Raven to heal them. He then noticed the ticking alarm clock, and the sleeping Bob. Less than a minute left. "… Jack, go help Rias." Itachi ordered.
"Hn." Jack nodded, generating a black mist gathered around her petite body. Her eyes went from golden green to red. At blitzing speed, Jack appeared hovering over Kokabiel, her arms stretched out to the side. "Rebellion." Jack uttered underneath her breath to be as quiet as possible. Out from a dark portal, five magic blades appearing out from the slithering darkness. Kokabiel didn't notice the little assassin sneaking up on him. Although she was almost discovered, from Rias casting her a quick look surprised at seeing the assassin. Jack with a swift swing of her arm, sent the blades stabbed into Kokabiel's wings.
"What the?" Kokabiel was taken aback from the sudden stabbing pain in his wings. Angered that his prized wings having been defiled, Kokabiel looked to the little assassin. "Little runt!" Kokabiel shook of the assassin, although was then blasted in the face by a destruction sphere from Rias, using her opening to attack. "Argh!" Kokabiel blasted a wave of light straight into Rias, the exhausted Gremory blasted into the concrete ground of the academy entrance.
Kokabiel noticed from the corner of his eye, Jack wielding a black energy cloaked dagger. It oozed of demonic power. Jack was aiming to cut off his wings. "Foolish little girl." Kokabiel formed a spear of light and parried Jack's dagger. Jack widened her eyes as she didn't have enough time to summon forth the anti-light dagger. And as a result, was overpowered by Kokabiel and sent plummeting to the ground. Then Kokabiel followed by throwing the light spear.
"Jack!" Damian leaped in front of the little assassin and moved his hands at blinding speed. And suddenly the light spear was caught up in strings. With a swift movement, the light spear was negated by Damian. "You okay Jack?" Damian panted while looking over at Jack from the corner of his eye. His body throbbing in pain from his injuries.
"Mm." Jack nodded emotionlessly and charged head on towards Kokabiel once more. Jack formed two magic knifes into her tiny hands. Kokabiel blocked the first strike with a sword of light, and halted Jack's second strike by pushing her arm with his elbow. Kokabiel then quickly grabbed Jack by the collar of her tattered cloak. Kokabiel punched Jack across her face. Her adorable face earning a new scar from Kokabiel's sharp long nail. Jack weakly turned her head to look at Kokabiel. Moving her tongue around inside her mouth, gathering the blood. Jack spat the blood straight into Kokabiel's forehead.
Kokabiel saw red, as the blood mixed with Jack's saliva dripped down over his right eye. "Little runt, I'll introduce you to a world of pain." Kokabiel raised his fist, a wicked smirk on his face. Kokabiel generated a golden aura of light around his fist. But before he could even throw the punch, an alarm rang. Kokabiel looked in confusion. Was it the school bell? No, that was destroyed by one of the Cerberus. Then where did it come from?
A creepy smirk creeped up on Jack's lips. "It's been 23 hours…" Jack uttered, although to Kokabiel those words held no meaning. What was she talking about? "Bob is gonna fuck you up!" Jack declared as she slipped out from her cloak, leaving her in her leather clothed getup, and leaped back to Itachi's side.
"Bob?" Kokabiel questioned. And his answer, was a massive tremor was felt across the academy. This sudden pressure caused a cold drop of sweat to run from the warmonger's forehead. Kokabiel landed, or was practically pushed down from this sudden pressure he felt. "What is happening?" Kokabiel questioned, and when he turned around, he heard a loud stomping noise. He saw a boot firmly planted to the ground, which had sunk beneath the owner's weight. Someone began walking towards Kokabiel. And he widened his eyes upon seeing a towering tall muscular man, with biceps the size of Kokabiel's own head. And the biceps were still growing in mass. For each step the man took, small holes formed beneath the sole of his boot.
His clothing getting ripped open. The shirt was completely ripped to shreds thanks to his muscular body. Leaving only the pants that were ripped around his ankles making them look like shorts. The man then dragged his hands through his dark hair slicking it back. Leaving but one bang hanging across his forehead. His eyes were cold and cool. He glared down at Kokabiel as he stood right in front of him. Bending his massive bulky body slightly down to get to eye level with the warmonger.
"And you are?" Kokabiel asked with his brow raised. He didn't show it, but Kokabiel was a little stunned that he hadn't felt this man's presence until now.
"I am Bob, the Grizzly sin of Sloth. And I believe it's about time, that I put you to sleep." Bob looked straight into Kokabiel's eyes with an ice-cold glare. Yet Kokabiel wasn't intimidated, he merely gave a snort.
Although, Kokabiel had to admit. He was offended at being looked down upon by a mere reincarnate. "Is that so?" Kokabiel smirked. Then, the whole area began shaking from the sheer power unleashed by these two.
"Oh man! This power… it's unbelievable!" Issei said as he struggled not to be blown away by this intense wind. He had only seen Bob in action once, in the battle against Raiser Pehenx and his peerage members a few weeks ago. Although it wasn't nearly at this level back then. Even the Fallen Angels that remained standing, and able to fight. Froze and watched their master and Bob in awe and anticipation.
"As you know, Bob possesses a very unique magic. Storage Magic, a magic ability that is born within one human every century. The more the wielder sleeps the more energy his body stores up and his strength increases. And this, is Bob's Storage magic at its best. His 23-hour state. He easily becomes one of the strongest members of my peerage in this state." Itachi explained as he sat back like he was about to watch a movie.
"With this power, he could beat Kokabiel." Rias stated and sat down next to Itachi to take a breather. Rias looked to Itachi, with a questioning gaze. "But couldn't you just have defeated Kokabiel yourself? With your sharingan you could-"
"I used up a lot of my energy and stamina to fight Amon. I might have been able to beat Kokabiel, but it would have taken too long. Besides, Bob was closing in on his 23 hours. I didn't want him to feel like he wasted all that time sleeping for nothing." Itachi shrugged his shoulders. Itachi honestly didn't feel like fighting a battle he had no need to participate in when others could handle it.
"It's been a long time since we last saw Bob going all out. I believe last time was against Trigon and his army. Nya." Kuroka said as they all waited in anticipation for the upcoming fight. Especially the ones to have never witnessed this form of Bob before.
Bob and Kokabiel were still intimidating each other with the pressure of their power. Rock peddles levitating around them. Once they both then stopped releasing their power, the peddles fell raining down around them. "Ah I see now, you're that little shrimp that was sleeping all the time. Bob, was it? Yes, I have heard of you. You might actually give me a challenge." Kokabiel's smirk said it all. He felt superior to Bob. And not just because Bob was a devil and had a weakness to Kokabiel's element, light. But because Bob was nothing but a mere reincarnated Devil.
"Please do not hold back. I would hate to knock you out before I see your actual power." Bob retorted with a cool relaxed calm look. Kokabiel gave the giant man a smirk, and a friendly sounding chuckle. Bob smirked back and joined in on the laughing. Although then, Kokabiel threw a mighty upper cut strike with his fist infused with light.
Bob looked surprised for a moment. Kokabiel followed up on his assault, and threw another light infused punch into Bob abdomen. A little blood escaped from Bob's lips this time. Then Kokabiel delivered another light infused punch into Bob's six-pack. The shock of the punch sending Bob to his knees.
"Is that it? I'm a little disappointed." Kokabiel smirked overconfidently. His confidence dwindling when Bob vanished at blinding speed. Kokabiel was left stunned. He struggled this much keeping up with Bob's speed? A shadow cast itself over Kokabiel, and quickly turned around to block an incoming kick from Bob. Kokabiel using his arm to block the strike. However, the sheer force of Bob's kick alone, sent Fallen Angel leader skidding away a great distance. The concreate ground dragged open from Kokabiel's feet. "That was a close o-" Kokabiel couldn't finish his sentence as Bob reappeared behind him. And elbowed slammed Kokabiel's back sending him crashing down to his knees.
Sweat poured down Kokabiel's face, as he tried catching his breath. He couldn't believe this. First Rias Gremory had been able to keep up with him. Then his prized fighter, with even greater power than his own was defeated by Itachi Sitri. And now, he was getting schooled by a mere reincarnated Devil?!
"What was that? I couldn't quite hear you?" Bob condescendingly looked down on Kokabiel.
Kokabiel despite the situation, grew a wicked smirk. He got back up, laughing. "This will most definitely entertain me indeed! Let's see what you got, sin of Sloth Bob." Kokabiel formed a spear of light into his right hand.
Bob narrowed and focused his gaze. Staying on his toes in case he needed to dodge. "Bob! Heads up!" Damian shouted from the sidelines, he lifted up a massive war hammer summoned from a magic circle. Damian looked to be struggling holding the war hammer up. Putting his back into it, Damian threw the hammer towards Bob. With his right arm stretched out, Bob caught it. Bob smirked as he looked at his war hammer giving it a good spin over his head. Wind gathering around the spinning war hammer, wind that was sent blowing into Kokabiel's face when Bob went into a stance. The wind sent Kokabiel back a step or two.
Kokabiel wasted no time, and threw the light spear at Bob. With a swing of the hammer into the spear, Bob deflected it. Sending the light spear exploding into the barrier around the academy. "Huh, that would have been a homerun."
Kokabiel excitement grew, evident from his widening smirk. With a flick of his fingers, Kokabiel formed multiple magic circles all around him. And with one more flick, out shot out a barrage fire of light spears. Like machine gunfire, directed at Bob. Bob narrowed his gaze at the incoming bombardment of light spears. Taking a deep breath, and firmly planting his left foot behind his back. Bob took a giant leap into the fire, and started swinging his war hammer around rapidly. With his intense speed, Bob was able to deflect all the light spears flew towards him.
Some spears deflected into the barrier walls, some deflected into the academy building. Bringing the school further to ruin. However, being too focused on the light spears, Bob failed to notice Kokabiel had made his move. At immense speed Kokabiel now stood before Bob. With a sword of light in his hands. Kokabiel then slashed the sword down at Bob, giving him a cut from his right shoulder and down to his chest. Blood gushing out like a fountain from the sin of Sloth.
"Despite your Hercules like strength. You are still merely a Devil, and like all Devils you are vulnerable to light. No matter how strong you get this is still a fact." Kokabiel confidently declared, thinking he had the upper hand. While Bob looked like he was a bit taken aback.
Taking a step back Bob held his hand to his wound, and looked into his now blood-soaked hand. "Hmm, nothing to worry about merely a scratch." Bob ignored the pain throbbing in his shoulder. And Kokabiel just started laughing.
"You certainly are a tough one. You know how to keep up a brave face, despite you being so close to your death." Kokabiel playfully tapped his light sword to his own shoulder, as he condescendingly looked at Bob.
"Close to death? Me? Sure you don't got that backwards there, buddy? Because I feel quite fine." Bob with a bored look on his face, rotated his sore shoulders.
"You say that despite me having the clear advantage with my light power." Kokabiel formed a second sword of light in his left hand, wielding dual wielded light blades.
"Advantage? What, that you can make your hand into a light bulb so you don't have to pay the electric bill?" Bob snorted and raised his war hammer, slamming it down with his right arm upon Kokabiel. Kokabiel quickly reacted, and blocked the hammer with his light swords in an x-formation over his head. The pressure of the strike created a crater beneath Kokabiel, pushing him in. "Because other than that, I don't see exactly what advantage it gives you against me."
Kokabiel looked taken aback at Bob's monstrous strength. Bob had Kokabiel pinned down, with only putting the weight of one arm upon the war hammer. Kokabiel gathered his full strength into his arms, and barely managed to push Bob's hammer back. Kokabiel with a tap of his foot, created a magic circle. Directed at the back of Bob's head. And out shot a barrage fire of light spears. Bob took a massive leap over Kokabiel and began dodging the incoming light spears, and deflected some as he jumped backwards to gain a little distance.
Itachi calmly watched the fight, while some let out worried gasps for Bob. Itachi studied the situation, to decide if there was any need for him to interfere. So far, there wasn't.
Bob having gained a good enough of distant, could begin his assault. So, he leaped forwards towards Kokabiel. Swinging his massive war hammer to deflect the light spears. It didn't take long before Bob had closed the distance between him and Kokabiel.
In a mere instant, Bob was right in front of Kokabiel. Bob bawled his left hand into a fist. "This is the end." Bob declared and bent his knees down a little. Kokabiel couldn't do anything, he could only widen his eyes. As Bob's fist slammed into Kokabiel's jaw in an upper cut.
Kokabiel was sent flying into the air, blood spilling out from his mouth along with a tooth. The impact of the punch sent such a shockwave, that all the remaining windows of the academy shattered.
"We might want to fly away from the ground." Itachi said bringing out his devil bat wings taking flight to the sky. Rias and her peerage quickly followed Itachi's lead. Along with Raven, Jack, Damian, Kuroka and Eto. Issei even grabbed a hold of the cold corpse of Xenovia.
Bob took flight after Kokabiel. Kokabiel looked stunned unable to move, his brain still recovering from the shock of Bob's powerful punch. Bob flew right over Kokabiel, and so Bob raised his war hammer over his head. "Meteorite." Bob uttered and slammed the massive hammer into Kokabiel. The Fallen Angel leader plummeting towards the ground like a meteorite. Kokabiel crashed into the ground at such force it sounded like an explosion. Massive dust clouds filled the air around the crash site. And once the dust cleared, it revealed a gigantic crater with Kokabiel right in the center.
Bob held his arms out, and flew down. His fists directed down towards Kokabiel. "And now to add to the impact…" Bob began spinning his body around, plummeting towards Kokabiel like a drill. Bob slammed straight into Kokabiel's gut, the warmonger vomiting out a puddle of blood from Bob's fists pushing into his gut. The crater expanded as a result. And thus, created a new giant dust cloud.
Issei and Asia looked down, their eyes wide as saucers as they gawked in awe. While the rest looked calm. "Th-The academy… it's completely destroyed…" Issei uttered as the dust cleared revealing that where the entire academy having collapsed from all the shaking. With the exception of the Occult Research Club that had a defensive barrier around it. Besides that, everything was reduced to rubble and most of the schoolgrounds had collapsed and become a part of the crater. With ruins of building rubble spread around inside the crater. Itachi even made note, that Amon was visibly buried in the rubble. Although seemed not to care, like he had given up on life.
Bob landed near the end of the crater, and walked down towards the center. Bob raised his brow at the sound of rubble being pushed around. And coming stepping out from the dust cloud before him was Kokabiel. The warmonger glared daggers out of pure anger directed at Bob. Kokabiel's shirt torn, a visible bruise mark at the shape of a pair of fists printed into his gut. He was banged up and had multiple bloodied cuts on his body. Kokabiel had blood spilling out from his foaming mouth. "You damn bastard!" Kokabiel wheezed out his words at first, but then he took a deep breath. "I WILL FUCKING ANNIHILATE YOU!" Kokabiel roared in pure rage at Bob. And Bob didn't even flinch at the warmongering Fallen Angel's threats.
Angered at Bob's lack of reaction. Kokabiel formed the biggest light spear that he could manage. It was so massive that it was just as long as the length of the crater. "Die!" Kokabiel shouted and swung his arm down, sending the spear plummeting down on Bob.
Bob raised his war hammer, and threw it like a tomahawk at the massive light spear. The collision of the magic deflecting war hammer, and the light spear. Created a massive explosion in the sky. An Explosion that would have annihilated the entire town had it not been for the barrier. In fact, even the barrier looked to be nearly destroyed. Bob looked to Kokabiel, only to discover he was gone. Then suddenly in a flash Kokabiel was standing before Bob, a malicious smirk on his face. With duel wielded light swords, Kokabiel slashed an x-mark onto Bob's chest. The force of the cut, sending Bob tumbling back as blood squirted out from his wound.
Bob twisted his face in pain, and vomited out a puddle of blood in anguish. "ARGH!" Bob fell onto one knee, sweat running down his face and his ears ringing.
Kokabiel let out a maniacal laughter and formed a light spear, directing it at Bob's head. "Oh, I'm going to enjoy this! This is the end! You damn low-class reincarnate! You lost!" Kokabiel kept laughing like a maniac, his bloodlust leaking like crazy.
"Bob! We have to help him!" Issei was about to charge in and aid in any way he could.
"No." Itachi however, stopped him. And now they all looked at him in confusion. Clearly Bob was in trouble here.
"What?! But he is your pawn, right?! We have to help him!" Issei shouted at Itachi, demanding an explanation. "Buchou would never-"
"What makes you think he needs help?" Itachi calmly asked, his face matching his calm tone of voice. "Bob still has one more card to play." Itachi revealed.
"What do you mean?" Issei questioned.
"You said it yourself, Bob is a pawn. He has a total of five pawn pieces. Now answer me this. What ability does a pawn have that can increase his or her strength?" Itachi smiled seeing as the realization dawned on Issei. Itachi looked down on the battlefield, and to the wounded Bob. "Bob! Listen to me!" In responds to Itachi's voice, Bob's body flinched. "I hereby declare this! As enemy territory!" Itachi shouted and Bob visibly grew a small smirk.
"So what?! What good will it do if you declare this enemy territory?!" Kokabiel blinded by his desire to kill, failed to calculate and realize the meaning behind Itachi's declaration. "Die! Devil scum! You're finished!" Kokabiel raised his light spear and was about to throw it through Bob's head.
"Promotion, Rook." Bob uttered and his body let out a bright blue flashing glowing light. Then Bob threw a right hook into Kokabiel's face. The Fallen Angel leader looking shocked, as that punch carried even greater power than ever before. The force of the punch, dissolved the light spear in Kokabiel's hand into nothing in the process. Kokabiel's legs were shaking, as he backed up while holding his hand over his now bruised cheek.
"What the hell?!" Kokabiel questioned his rage growing over that Bob refused to fall. 'What did he do?! How did his strength grow by this much?!' Kokabiel was fuming with rage. Although then it clicked. 'Of course! That blasted ability in the Devil's pawns! Promotion!'
"I am finished, huh? And what makes you say that?" Bob towered over Kokabiel with a strange blue aura gathered around him. "The one who is finished…" Bob pulled his right arm behind his back. The blue aura gathering into his palm taking the shape of a roaring grizzly bear head. "… is you." Bob glared coldly at Kokabiel, as the wind itself shifted direction towards Bob.
Kokabiel widened his eyes. His body had begun sweating and trembling out of a feeling Kokabiel never thought he would experience, fear. 'What is this power?! His power keeps on rising! What the hell is he?! There is no way that he is a mere reincarnated Devil!' Kokabiel thought, unable to move his trembling body. All he could muster was taking a few steps back, as he looked up at the gigantic form Bob.
"Now… sleep." Bob uttered while glaring coldly at Kokabiel.
"Aaaaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhh!" Kokabiel tried to speak, but all that came out from his mouth were screams of horror. He couldn't manage to utter a word as he was too taken aback by fear.
"Grizzly Claw." Bob slammed his arm and palm forward, sending a massive shockwave at the shape of a grizzly bears head blasting right into Kokabiel. Pushing the warmonger back, the shockwave tearing through the bottom of the crater leaving a scar in the ground.
"CUUUUURRRRSSSSSEEEEE YYYOOOOOOUUUUU BOOOOBBBBB!" Kokabiel screamed as he was sent blasting into the end of the crater, crashing in a brilliant explosion. A gigantic dust cloud having been formed from the shockwave, clouding the path left by the blasting rocket that was Kokabiel. And when the dust cleared it revealed Kokabiel's body, gaping, with a large wound and bruise over his entire upper body. His ribs were sticking out from his chest, as his flesh had been pushed in by Bob's attack.
"Well then, that ends that." Bob walked further into the crater, finding his war hammer lodged into the rubble. With a might heave, Bob lifted up his war hammer and threw it over his shoulder. Bob stood tall as the victor of this battle, between a low-class reincarnate devil and a Fallen Angel leader. The Grizzly Sin of Sloth, stood victorious.
"No way…" Issei uttered, his shock and awe replaced by a nervous laughter. "He did it!"
"Told you." Itachi cracked a smile, as they all flew back down to celebrate their victory over Kokabiel and his forces. While the remaining Fallen Angels were frozen in terror, at the sight of their defeated master they lowered their arms and spears of light. Accepting their defeat.
Everyone celebrated the defeat of Kokabiel, while Kokabiel's henchmen coward in fear at the defeat of their leader and elite fighters. They had gathered the henchmen into a bundle, ready for arrest once Sirzechs and his forces arrived.
Itachi looks to the defeated Amon, he was conscious. Yet he seemed so lifeless with his eyes. Then Itachi looked over to the unconscious twitching body of Kokabiel. He was still alive. Itachi created a blade of ice, and instantly before anyone could say anything else. He rushed towards Kokabiel, ready to finish him off.
Although, then something sparkling white, clashed straight through the barrier and landed right before Itachi. What breached through the barrier generated a mighty shockwave. Itachi halted dead in his tracks, his hair being blown back from the mighty winds. Itachi glared with his sharingan.
Standing tall in his way, was a white armored warrior. Blue crystal majestic dragon like wings. "That's…" Rias looked in disbelief, sending looks to Kiba and Koneko to protect Issei.
"Pardon me, Itachi Sitri… But Azazel has ordered for Kokabiel's arrest." The armored man spoke, sounding confident and amused.
"… Vanishing Dragon. The White Dragon Emperor. So, your Azazel's errand boy?" Itachi and the Vanishing Dragon stared each other down, the tension growing.
"Did Itachi-senpai… just say, Vanishing Dragon?" Issei questioned, feeling his arm throbbing from the presence of the White Dragon.
"Hn, just like you are the errand boy of your own older sister, Serafall Levithan and the rest of the Maous." The Vanishing Dragon gave a light chuckle at Itachi's comment.
"This armor mode of yours… I assume this is your Balance Breaker state?" Itachi asked, unaware of what the Balance Breaker form for the Two Heavenly Dragons look like. Since Issei has yet to achieve his Balance Breaker.
"Indeed, it is. And those red eyes of yours… the famed mutation of the Sitri heir I assume?" The Vanishing Dragon avoided eye contact with Itachi, and walked over to Kokabiel. He hoisted the unconscious body of Kokabiel over his shoulder, and walked over to Amon. "And you must be Amon… The Angel of Death. Azazel told me quite a bit about you. He wants to discuss something with you… involving your older sister Raynare. And how you faked her death four years ago." Amon weakly looked up to the Vanishing Dragon, and his outstretched hand. "I am also quite interested in other things about you… come with me."
Amon seeing no other meaning in life, accepted the hand of the Vanishing Dragon. "Captain, what do we do?" Kuroka, Eto, Bob, Damian, Jack and Raven arrived at Itachi's side.
"…" Itachi suddenly felt a vibration in his pocket, his cellphone ringing. He answered, keeping his gaze on the Vanishing Dragon. "Yes?"
"Ah, Itachi? Hey! This is Azazel! I assume Vali has arrived to collect Kokabiel?"
"… If you mean the Vanishing Dragon, then yes."
"Ah, yeah that's Vali alright. He is my agent you see… seeing as you devils have the Red Dragon it is only appropriate that we have the White Dragon. Anyway, let him go… with both Amon and Kokabiel. He will hand Kokabiel over to my personal guard, and then bring Amon to me. I have already spoken with Sirzechs, he will arrest the rest of Kokabiel's forces. Cool? Cool. Bye for now."
And just like that Azazel hung up. Itachi looked to his servants. "Stand down… let them go." Itachi ordered and so they stood down.
"Thank you for your cooperation." Vali bid farewell, and took off with both Kokabiel and Amon. "See you another day, Red one." A deep voice echoed from Vali's wings.
"Hmm, almost thought you ignored me, White one. We shall meet again soon, it is our destiny." Ddraig spoke from Issei's gauntlet to the Dragon Albion.
Once the dust had settled, everyone could finally relax. Itachi looked off into the sky of the night and the full moon, where Vali and Amon had vanished off into. While his peerage members kept the apprehended Fallen Angels in line. And Sona with her peerage members and Akeno were still outside trying to rebuild the top of the barrier, to trap the Fallen Angel prisoners in and prevent any chance of escape. And Rias, well Asia had soon after the battle dragged her and the rest of her peerage over to Xenovia's body.
"Buchou… could you please revive her?" Asia pleaded to Rias, whom honestly didn't feel obligated to save Xenovia. She was of the church, an enemy. Then again, so was Asia once upon a time. "Please…" Asia pleaded once more.
Rias looked to the dead body of Xenovia, there was still time to revive her, true. And she didn't exactly hate her or had anything against her. "… May I ask why you wish to save her, Asia?" First she wanted to hear the reasons from the one asking to save Xenovia.
"Well, she doesn't deserve to die… just because she called me a few things. And, besides… I more than anyone knows what she is feeling after hearing about God's death. Her belief was her whole life, as it once was mine… I just… maybe wanted to save her. And, show her a new life she could live, like Buchou and Issei-san showed me." Asia gave her reasoning, seeming nervous under Rias' serious stare.
"Hmm, I see. Very well, let's revive her then." Rias smiled to her bishop, whom looked overjoyed and bowed in gratitude to which Rias embraced her in a hug. "No need for that… you are a good girl, Asia." Rias acting like a dotting older sister, patted Asia's head gently. "Besides, having the Durandal wielder amongst our ranks could prove to be quite the asset." Rias summoned forth her last Knight piece. "I just hope this is enough…"
Rias completed the ceremony, and merged her knight piece into the dead body of Xenovia. The former Exorcist's body began to glow red, her wound closing itself up. Her face regaining its color, and her eyes weakly reopening. After blinking a few times, she instantly shot straight up. "Wh-What happened?!" Xenovia looked around in confusion.
"Xenovia, you died during the battle against Kokabiel… and per Asia's request I have reincarnated you into a devil serving the house of Gremory." Xenovia looked stunned at the news. As suddenly her new devil bat wings popped out from her back.
"W-What? I'm… a devil now?" Xenovia recollected her thoughts, and remembered everything. After hearing about the death of God, she froze in battle from the shock and was killed by a stray beam of light. And Asia, tried to save her. "I see…" Xenovia uttered.
Issei was left shocked, he thought Xenovia would be upset about all this. "Umm, you know you are a devil, right? Doesn't that like, make you upset or angry?" Issei asked.
"… I don't know what to feel. Now that I know of my Lord's death, my life has no meaning. Whether I'm human or devil doesn't matter anymore…" Xenovia looked totally broken in spirit. "But, why? Why would you revive me?" Xenovia looked to Rias.
"That you will have to ask Asia, she was the one whom asked me to revive you in the first place." Rias smiled at Xenovia's reaction.
"You?" Xenovia looked to Asia, whom seemed fidgeted and nervous.
"Umm, well… you don't deserve to die just for saying bad things about me. And, now that I'm not the only one here formerly of the church. I… I was hoping we could be friends. Since, we kinda can understand and support each other." Asia gave a kindhearted smile followed by a small giggle. Xenovia looked totally caught off guard, she had never seen someone this kindhearted as Asia before. It left her with a warm feeling in her heart, touched by Asia's kindness.
"Hehehe. That's Asia for ya. She doesn't have a single bad bone in her body. It's just the way she is." Issei smiled with a wide grin upon seeing Xenovia's reaction. The former Exorcist looked to the former nun, and bowed before her.
"Eh?" Asia looked surprised by this.
"Please, forgive me." Xenovia begged. "You may strike me if you like."
"Eh?! No, no I don't want that! Please stand up!" Asia panicked at that sudden declaration, and as requested Xenovia stood up.
"I believe, this belongs to you." Kiba held out the Durandal to Xenovia, and she gratefully accepted the blade.
"Hn, with God dead… my life has no meaning. Perhaps I can discover a meaning and a new path in life, if I follow you." Xenovia then like a knight kneeled before Rias, whom was a little caught of guard. "I vow to serve you, Rias Gremory. As your Knight."
Rias is brought out from her feeling of shock, as she hears Itachi's faint chuckle in the background. "Thank you, Xenovia. Welcome to my peerage." Rias welcomed her new addition with open arms.
Sirzechs' forces shortly arrived, and arrested the remaining Fallen Angels that served Kokabiel. Sirzechs himself even congratulated on their efforts against Kokabiel, and confirmed his deal with Azazel to have Vali apprehend Kokabiel.
Rias and Itachi watched together as Sirzechs and his forces, vanished with the arrested Fallen Angels through a magic circle. "I heard you did quite well out there… how you managed to go toe to toe with Kokabiel." Itachi acknowledged Rias, whom reacted by blushing a little and twirling her finger around in her crimson hair.
"R-Really?" Rias almost let out a surprised squeal as Itachi pulled her in closer.
"You've gotten stronger, I'm proud of you." Itachi smiled at her, pleased to see Rias having grown. Rias' face reddened at the praise she got, and she softly smiled as she rested her head up against Itachi's shoulder.
"Are you doing okay? You were quite injured back there." Rias asked.
"Yeah, Raven healed me completely. I'm totally fine."
"That's good… we probably should get going. The Academy is going to need to be rebuild after all, and I still have to introduce Xenovia to the basics and fill out some paperwork." Rias parted ways with Itachi, giving him a little wave and a smile as she prepared a magic circle. "See you back home."
"Yeah, see you back home." Itachi remained with Sona and her peerage to rebuild the broken academy. He was curious as to how Rias had gotten this strong, this fast. Although he didn't feel any need to pry. But he wondered how a Rating Game against her might be like in the future.
Now that Xenovia had decided to become a devil, out of a feeling of self-abandonment. Irina had to return to the church with the remaining Excalibur fragments by herself, plus the cores of the destroyed fragments. So, Irina left, unaware of the truth Xenovia and Asia learned from Kokabiel about God. Now, she was trying to find a new path in life.
"Well, want to go over your enrollment?" Rias, asked holding the necessary papers for Xenovia to enroll into Kuoh Academy.
"… I guess it is too late to back out now. Isn't it?" Xenovia smiles softly, and takes a seat across from Rias. "Can I request something?"
"Name it." Rias answers immediately.
"… I-Is it possible to get me into the same class as… Asia Argento?" Xenovia fidgetily moved her body, while blushing slightly. To this Rias widened her eyes, blinking a couple of times to let this side of Xenovia sink in.
"My, you can be quite cute." Rias giggled, to which Xenovia's face reddened even more.
Underworld:
In the bottom of a ravine leading to Fallen Angel territory, laid the aftermath of a crash site. A carriage surrounded by the mangled bloody corpses of Fallen Angel guards. From the looks of it, they had been ripped apart and burnt from the inside. And leading away from the crash site, were bloody footsteps.
Heavy breaths came from a limping figure, it was Kokabiel. The Fallen Angel warmonger trying to recall what had happened. Yes, he had lost to Bob of the Seven Deadly Sins. And been betrayed by his own right-hand man Amon, and brought in by the White Dragon Vali. But, how had he escaped? He was unconscious the whole time, and woke up surrounded by dead bodies.
"How did those guards die? I have no memory of it…Argh!" Kokabiel fell onto his knees as he felt a sharp burning pain in his brain. "My head, feels like it's on fire! What's happening to me?!" Kokabiel foamed, his body trembling from this intense pain. "Who killed them?! Who saved me?!" His pained screams echoed through the ravine.
"That would be me…" A deep cold chilling voice that even made Kokabiel's blood freeze in terror upon hearing, went like an echo in his mind.
"Wh-Who are you?" Kokabiel's stuttered, he was afraid. He had no idea who this voice belonged to, but by just hearing it spiked his senses of fear like no other.
"And as payment, you shall serve as my eyes in this realm from now on." The voice didn't bother answering Kokabiel's question.
What followed next was Kokabiel holding his hands to his head, screaming. The pain was too much for the warmonger. It was so intense that he dug his nails into the side of his face drawing blood. "AAARRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!" Kokabiel screamed as flames emitted from the center of his forehead. The fire leaving behind a red tattoo like mark on Kokabiel's forehead. Kokabiel repeatedly slammed his head into the side of a mountain, the mountain side cracked leaving a bloodied forehead print.
"Submit, to the Lord of Purgatory. Submit, to the might of Trigon." Trigon's maniacal laughter echoed through Kokabiel's head. Overwhelming the warmonger to bowing his head under the might of Trigon. Within Kokabiel's own mind, he saw darkness. And in that darkness, he saw four yellow glowing piercing eyes staring right at him. Kokabiel could only scream in terror as he felt himself losing what bit of sanity he had left. And all that was heard, was the chuckles of the Lord of Purgatory.
That's the end for now!
Seeing as it has been awhile since my last update, I decided to make this chapter longer than normal. Now as for the reason it's been so long, is because life has gotten in the way. My job and my social life take up a lot of my time, so I don't have much time to write. But I am trying, and I have no intention of giving up.
Now, I get that some of you might be disappointed Itachi wasn't the one to defeat Kokabiel. And I can understand that. But honestly, I decided to have Bob take down Kokabiel to make the story less predictable. Like, Itachi will not always finish off the main bad guy. Most of the time he will, but not in this case. Even though in this case, he fought against someone stronger than Kokabiel as Kokabiel himself stated in this chapter. But by the looks of it, Kokabiel is far from done. He still has a role to play as we saw in the ending here.
Anyway, do make sure to leave a review! Or even PM me!
-Later!
(responds to reviews):
Cyan-Snake: It's all about mental torture. Asia at first refused because she knew her friends would get killed if she did. And after that, she learned that it would happen if she didn't do anything. And that it might happen if she didn't do it, but on the off chance Kokabiel was going to hold his promise she was desperate enough to try. Asia is not exactly the most experienced when it comes to battle and mind torture, so I feel this would be a natural process for her. But if you disagree then that is fine to.
Dzerx: Amon is no normal six-winged Fallen Angel, but a mutant of sorts. Kind of like Dragon Ball series Broly, the angrier he gets the more power he grows. And Amon is a Ten-winged Fallen Angel now after he learnt of Raynare's death.
merendinoemiliano: Thank you, and you are welcome. And this might be three months late, but happy birthday.
Sandman001: The extra plan as it was revealed, was to use Amon's mutant DNA to create super soldiers in Kokabiel's upcoming war. Or at least that was the plan. The other plan was to use the Excalibur cores and have Amon go on a destructive rampage with his increased power. And if it wasn't clear this chapter, I still have plans for Amon.
Guest: Thanks, sorry for the long wait.
andresskorskiruiz: Thanks, and no Itachi does not have his illness. And Esdeath will appear in a different battle I have planned later than this.
Uday Sra: Thanks!
Michael Corven: Can't you just read the answer here? Yes it will continue, but me and my co-writer are suffering from writers block when it comes to that story. Also, yeah Bob always has to wait for the time limit to run out before he returns to his petite form.
razmire: Well, it went something like that. Although Amon finding out Kokabiel had a hand in it, might come later.
KingZeRoPL: It wasn't love-love more like sibling love and admiration Sona held for Itachi. Currently Itachi is above standard Satan/Faction Leader level. As evident in this chapter where he defeats an opponent (Amon) stronger than a faction leader aka. Kokabiel. But not Super Devil, yet.
Ashkan Dehon: Thank you very much for your support.
Mr. Haziq: Right? I was wondering if it was just me XD
castieltuang002: Well, sorry to hear that. Nothing that can be done about it now lol.
Ghosted11: One cannot be prideful, without having a bit of Escanor-sama in them.
ImperialCannon: Welcome, hope you enjoy the story.
Guest: That will be in an arc I made for her. Wait and see is all I can say.
Guest: Thanks!
Guest: Thanks!
ghostFLIN: Sorry that it took so long, hope you enjoyed.
stylo1: Oh, does Bob not perhaps go to sleep every night like a normal person? Do enemies attack them 24/7? Even if Bob sleeps for 8-9 normal hours (the recommended amount of sleep for a normal human) and wakes up the next morning, he keeps that form up for the rest of the day. If he sleeps for 8 hours, he keeps his form up for 16 hours. And if he sleeps for 23 hours, he keeps the form up for 1 hour. Unless they are attacked 24/7 it is not that useless of an ability. And if they are mid battle, he has comrades to protect him.
Tasty Food: Thanks for the idea pitch, I can definitely use this.
Silver PND: Thanks for the support. And you know, I have been thinking he could use it but he wouldn't be able to use it for much honestly. He can't copy other devil families and their demonic powers for example like the Bael family's ability of destruction. Or the Phenex family's immortality. And since he is devil, I'm pretty sure he can't copy angelic light abilities. And of course, Sacred Gears are a no. But other than those, I'm sure he could copy things.
Valor-Derzod: LOL! XD
PhantasmaXw: Thank you for the support.
Dasgun: …?
HighPaladinRath: I was honestly just thinking Asia, Xenovia and Irina for Issei. And… that was actually something I was thinking of doing with Issei and Kiba XD
Guest: He will awaken it during the events of DxD Hero, aka. DxD season 4. More than that I will not say.
eliecer069: All Susano'o business with Itachi and mangekyou will happen around DxD Hero and after. Sorry, but I have made up my mind on it.
Guest: Sorry, life is getting in the way of my writing. I will try not to take this long to update next time.
eprince200: Romance a bit here and there. And lemons, yeah, I might. People have been asking. And as I said in the PM Ophis and Gabriel have been removed from the Harem list.
Kitsune Obsessed Freak: I do care about my readers, and I'm certain you have noticed I left the review replies at the end of the story. And those peerage suggestions might be a bit too late. And no, I did mean Kuroka. Since she joined Itachi, she has become a part of his peerage and she is one year younger than Itachi in this. Itachi had her go to school also. So, she would be a first year while Itachi is a second year during the events of ch. 14. Koneko would still be in middle school at this point. And okay on that Yokai bit. And lol, I have some typos every now and then XD
Problemchild667: Sorry for the long wait. Here you go.
handsomePikachu: He is, but he is such a perfectionist that even the tiniest failure isn't tolerated. And he tends to go a bit overboard. So, every time he fails cooking something he starts over. As shown when he tried making eggs for Sasuke.
Guest: Sorry, but life gets in the way of my writing. My job and social life. But I will try my best.
AlphaFlash: Sorry it took so long.
Sir Envy: Like I said in the PM, basic science for humans does not apply to devils. Besides this is a fanfic, no need to be so serious.
Guest: What can I say, life gets busy.
