Chapter 39: The Path of a Shinobi!
Somberly music was playing in the background, as Itachi stood motionlessly with dried up tears on his face, dressed in a black suit as he stared at a picture of Behemoth. It was a funeral ceremony, taking place in Serafall's castle in the Underworld. An urn of the gathered ash remains of his teacher was placed behind the photograph. 'Life is born… life dies… Normally there should be an afterlife… But for Behemoth-sensei, there is none. His body and soul, having been burnt away. Gone. Forever.' Itachi unmoving stands before the photograph of his mentor, as Serafall's peerage stands lined up, saluting their fallen comrade.
Standing further back, were the mournful crowd. Consisting of all the Four Maou and their own peerage members, here to pay the respect to their fellow fourth Maou, Serafall and her deceased Rook Behemoth. The Sins were all also gathered, as were Sona Sitri and her peerage and Rias Gremory and her peerage.
Rias looked out from the crowd, and glanced upon Itachi's back as he stood upfront by the gravesite. Rias exchanged a glance with her Queen Akeno, both sharing a concerned look on their faces. "I'm worried about Itachi… he hasn't said a word about it since Kyoto." Rias whispers.
"He's hardly said anything at all… He hasn't even eaten properly since it happened." Akeno also shared Rias' concern, both being Itachi's girlfriends they couldn't help but worry for their boyfriend.
Esdeath, dressed in a black tux version of her regular uniform, stood with the rest of Serafall's peerage. One was a wrinkled old man with long silver hair tied up into a high ponytail, with a tall long katana strapped to his back. Master of the Ganryu style, Sasaki Kojiro, an ancient Japanese swordsman that died during the early Edo period. And now, Kojiro was Serafall's only Knight taking up two pieces. Next to him, a rather tall man, young lean man with curly brown hair that was parted at the front. He wore a white shirt, black tie and a waistcoat. One of the most extravagant, and well-known scientists of his time and arguably the greatest to have ever lived, Nikola Tesla. Now Serafall's Pawn taking a total of 6 pieces, with Serafall still after centuries having two spare Pawn pieces left. And finally, a short man with long flowy light hair. Known as the French astrologer, apothecary, physician, and reputed seer. The prophet of the century, and one of the most obnoxious men in history, Michel Nostradamus. Now the Bishop of Serafall Leviathan taking up both pieces. These three men, with their various wild characteristics, were all seen lowering their heads in respect for their senior Behemoth.
"To think that Behemoth-dono was killed, unbelievable." Sasaki Kojiro mumbled to himself with disbelief in his voice, he couldn't believe someone as powerful and skilled as Behemoth was killed.
Esdeath looked with a frown on her face, and commented. "The enemy was simply stronger than Behemoth. That is all there is to it. It is the way of nature." Some would think Esdeath's words to be rather harsh, but to those who knew her, understood she was grieving in her own way. "Either all, in the end. I bet Behemoth was pleased. He had fulfilled his duty, in protecting young master Itachi to the very end." Esdeath's eyes were cold and filled with killer intent. "The enemy was strong… But I shall not be satisfied with Behemoth's passing until I see how strong the enemy was for myself."
"He was a man of great mystic arts… Even though it wasn't science, I respected him for his great prowess. May that talent of Behemoth live on in young Itachi!" Tesla looked with a beaming smile, having great respect for the deceased Behemoth and his magical talents.
"Ah, ol' Behemoth bit the dust… Unexpected." Nostradamus mumbled.
"Behemoth-dono was Lady Serafall's first servant… she must be taking it hard." Kojiro sounded worried for their master's emotional state.
"Quit your whispering." Esdeath commanded, and they all flinched a bit. With Behemoth gone, Esdeath was undoubtedly their general and second in command after Serafall. "Remain strong for Lady Serafall, dedicate your lives to exterminating the Hero Faction."
Serafall had tears rolling down her face, trying to hold back her crying she hiccupped as she stood before the urn with the ashes of her first servant. Her mind drifting back to centuries ago, in her younger days and during the early civil war days of the Underworld.
The younger Serafall was making her way through a deserted terrain. Bodies of various soldiers laid scattered on the sandy floors, and giant pillars of rocky earth spikes surrounded a lone giant beast of a figure wielding a battle axe. "You must be the famed Demonic Earth King Behemoth." Serafall Sitri, the future holder of the title of Leviathan approached this dangerous beast who used a broken bone from an enemy to pick his fangs of flesh that were stuck in-between.
"Huh? Another Devil? Which one are you?" Behemoth coldly greeted the short young devil woman, her full form hidden underneath a hooded cloak. "You with those Satan brats, or the Anti-Satan group created by that Bael?" The humongous Behemoth, stood like a towering mountain before Serafall who didn't seem to care.
"I am Serafall Sitri, pleasure to make your acquaintance." Serafall pulled her hood down, revealing her face which was a bleak one. Not a hint of any joy or happiness of the Serafall Leviathan we knew today. A woman with a glare as cold as ice, and a matching heart. "I heard a giant beast had interrupted a battle between the Satan faction and Anti-Satan faction, wreaking havoc and massacring both sides."
"And? What of it?" Behemoth spat out a piece of bone to the side. "Doesn't matter which side you are from. But I must say, I find it insulting they send a little girl after me."
"I'm 16 you asshole." Serafall coldly glared at Behemoth and removed her robe as she was left standing in some form of violet battle armor. Behemoth flinched as the air around them suddenly got colder, the earth beneath them froze into a layer of ice. Serafall exhaled a cold chilling breathe. Serafall had a good spring in her step, as she launched herself forward at Behemoth, smashing her fist square into his monstrous face.
Behemoth thinking nothing of Serafall, was left awestruck as he was launched several feet backwards from the force of that single punch. "Heh, for those noodle arms of yours, you back a punch, runt!" Behemoth smirked as blood erupted from his nose. Behemoth held his battle axe, and took a small jump as he smashed the head of the axe into the earth.
Serafall lost her footing, tumbling down as the entire earth beneath her split itself into a canyon. Serafall fell in between the divided earth, and saw crashing sea waves pouring itself in. Serafall held both her arms stretched out, catching the clashing waves of water with her palms as she unleashed a chilling aura. Behemoth stood at the top, chuckling whilst he looked down, suddenly spikes of ice exploded out, Serafall in an instant had frozen the entire canyon filled with water. Spikes of ice were launched out soaring towards Behemoth, the hulking monster backhanded the first ice spike that shattered upon clashing with his fist, and began cutting down the rest spiked projectiles using his battle axe.
The ceiling of the ice in the canyon, broke apart and shooting out like a bullet was Serafall. With her devil bat-like wings that were quickly retracted into her lower back, with incredible agility Serafall leapt up at Behemoth and dealt a swift downwards kick to his forehead. The sharpness of her heel, coated in ice and cutting the monster down across the forehead and nearly to his eye. Behemoth hissed at the burning pain, but endured it with no problem as he threw a heavy punch at Serafall.
Serafall twirled her body midair, wrapping her leg around Behemoth's wrist as she spun around on his wrist, getting up in his face with her cheeks puffed. "Fire Shot!" Serafall spat out a flame bullet straight into the monster's face, Behemoth groaned and backtracked, as Serafall kicked him square in the chest.
Behemoth clapped his hands violently together, generating a shockwave of pure force that had Serafall flying backwards. "Rumble!" The earth moved around Behemoth like snakes, into ten giant columns that stretched for hundreds of miles, and although made of rock moved like the body of a snake. Behemoth's physical strength could split the very earth, and his magical skills were nothing to scoff at. The young Serafall Sitri was amazed at the skills of the Earth King. All ten stone columns began rumbling at the tip as something emerged out. "Earth King's Stone Dragon." Stone dragon heads emerged out from the long stone columns, the roaring dragon heads charging up vibrant blast attacks of air in their mouths. "Now, little spit fire… I will erase you from the very fabric of existence. I will not let this fight continue any further." The dragon heads unleashed powerful sound vibrations that tore at the earth, followed by light brown beams of energy.
"Celsius Cross Trigger!" Serafall stared down the ten energy blasts, and stomped her foot down as the entire area got coated in ice. Behemoth gasped as the energy beams themselves froze, as did his stone dragons.
"No!" Behemoth cried out as he saw the local forest getting frozen as well. "Stop!" Behemoth roared as he didn't care for his own safety, and instead generated every fire spell he knew to try and melt the ice.
"Huh?" Serafall is a bit baffled at this act, looking to the forest Behemoth desperately tried to protect, she saw an abundance of wild animals trembling behind the trees and within caves. Serafall a bit in a daze, halted her ice spell as it stopped before reaching the forest.
Behemoth gasped, and was breathing heavily from the effort he put into protecting the local wildlife. He looked to Serafall, but his vision was blocked as a wave of blazing blue fire burnt like a beam between them. Behemoth grunted and fell back, so did Serafall. "This fire… don't tell me!" Serafall looked up and floating above them, was a devil with twelve wings.
"Heh, I heard a monster exterminated our forces here…" The man had jet-black hair and pale like skin, with spiky elf-like ears. Dressed in an ornamented black cloak. "And here I find the monster, and the Anti-Satan Faction's Serafall Sitri…" The man broke into a fit of laughter as he stretched his arms out. "Luck seems to be on my side! Not only do I get to annihilate this troublesome monster, but also the annoying Serafall Sitri!" The back of his cloak, carrying the symbol of the Asmodeus household. "I, Damaidosu Zereikel Asmodeus, son of the former Maou Asmodeus! Shall execute you personally, feel honored!"
"One after the other!" Behemoth growls, and with a stomp of his foot, he divided the earth caught ablaze, and pushed the flames far away from the forest. Behemoth launched spikes of Earth at the son of Asmodeus, and also launched Serafall into the air not willing to continue this fight on land. Behemoth unleashed a battle cry as he flew after and pushed his battle axe into Damaidosu, pushing the son of the former Maou far into the skies of the Underworld.
"Insolent beast!" Damaidosu sprayed out waves of blue scorching hot fire from his mouth, burning Behemoth's fur. Behemoth fought through and swung his battle axe into Damaidosu's shoulder. "Ugh!" Damaidosu held off the battle axe as the edge cut through his shoulder padded armor and into his shoulder. Despite Behemoth's amazing strength, Damaidosu was able to hold off Behemoth's axe from pushing further. "You dare strike your future king?!"
"This is the wild your highness… Here… I AM KING!" Behemoth roared and smacked Damaidosu with a right hook to the face, sending the Asmodeus flying into Serafall. "And as King, I shall protect my land and subjects from your despicable civil war! So many forests, mountains, nature all ruined by your selfish quest for power!"
"King of animals and nature? Pfft, you are a powerful beast, too bad you are soft in the head!" Damaidosu grabbed Serafall by the throat, and engulfed her entire being in flames. Whilst blasting off a giant blue fire sphere at Behemoth.
Serafall groaned and gasped for air as Damaidosu squeezed her throat, and the flames burnt her body. Serafall grabbed ahold of the Asmodeus' hand wrapped around her neck, and let out a war cry as she unleashed a chilling frost sensation in the air. The flames around her began to freeze into ice, and frost bite was beginning to set into Damaidosu's fingertips. Recoiling his hand back, the son of Asmodeus hissed in anger at seeing his fingers frozen.
As Damaidosu charged up a fire attack in his hand, and Serafall created giant ice projectiles to launch at the son of Asmodeus. Behemoth came flying in with a war cry, and his battle axe in hand. This three-way battle continued to ravage the heavens of the Underworld. Until finally, Damaidosu in his outrage and anger, burns with bright blue fire and unleashes a hail rain of blue fire all around himself.
"The forest!" Behemoth gasps seeing the ravaging flames raining down onto the forest with the terrified animals.
Before Behemoth could even act, a floating ice lens formed itself over the entire forest, blocking out the raining fire attacks. Behemoth gasps in awe, as he sees Serafall instead of defending herself results in defending the forest. "You are mine!" Damaidosu seeing this opening, unleashes a massive wave of blue fire charging towards Serafall.
Serafall groans as she stares into the incoming blue wave of fire. When suddenly the fire parts in half, as a giant battle axe slashes down before it. Behemoth jumped in, acting as Serafall's defense. "Should have expected this from a royal asshole, attacking a defenseless little girl." Behemoth snarled at the son of Asmodeus.
"I am 16!" Serafall resented being called a little girl, clearly having some insecurities about her own height.
Behemoth chuckled. "My apologies, lady Sitri." Behemoth's facial expressions softened as he looked back at Serafall. "Thank you…" Behemoth mouthed a word of thanks to Serafall for protecting his subjects and the forest.
"Heh, so the Earth Beast does have manners befitting of his title as King." Serafall smirked.
"And your snarky remarks are befitting of a teenager. Now, shall we take care of this pompous royal ass?" Behemoth and Serafall stood together, as they both charged at the son of Asmodeus. The battle was short and brief this time, as their combined overwhelming power was enough to repel Damaidosu and make him flee at the sight of their combined might.
With the son of Asmodeus gone, the young Serafall Sitri and Behemoth land back onto solid ground. "… I almost expected us to resume our battle now." Behemoth pointed out, as Serafall had come to stop him for having destroyed some of their forces. But instead, Serafall stood idly by and showed no intent of fighting. "I thank you for protecting the forest and my subjects. And as a sign of gratitude, I shall allow you to leave unharmed. I must insist you leave, and tell your superiors to not step foot on this land again."
"It is not that simple…" Serafall replies, as she suddenly sits down. "Could we perhaps talk this out like equals?" Serafall suggests, and urges for Behemoth to sit down. Serafall summoning forth a bottle of wine and wooden cups.
"Hmm…" Behemoth after a few moments of contemplating his next move, transforms into his true form. A short-bearded man with dark hair and tired eyes. Behemoth sits down before Serafall, as she pours him some wine. "And why is it not that simple?" Behemoth accepts the cup of wine, and takes a sip. "This civil war of yours has not only divided our people… But the landscapes, our forests, rivers, mountains, all end up as barren wastelands due to this selfish conflict of power. You are all so focused in preserving royal bloodlines, that you forget your own people, and the wildlife of your "kingdom". Is it your pride that doesn't allow you to stop fighting?"
Serafall sighs. "I was only 14 when I was drafted into the army. My mother was against it, and so was my father. But my father, Malphas Sitri, was recently diagnosed with early stages of Sleep Disease… If nothing is done, he will one day fall asleep and maybe never wake up again. He has mostly been left bedridden. And medical supplies have been extremely limited due to the Civil war. That is why I want to hurry up and end this war, so that daddy may recover. Against their wishes, I joined the Anti-Satan faction army, and fought tirelessly in various battles. Daddy has always been a source of strength for me, seeing him like this… is heartbreaking. And the Satan Faction, our enemy in this war… just happens to be on the other side of this forest you are protecting. If I want this war to end, and save daddy… I need to push them back from here."
Behemoth silently listened, as Serafall poured her heart out, she was just a teenager and couldn't fight back her own feelings and thus was shedding tears. Her voice carrying nothing but honesty, she wasn't like those other politicians who had tried to negotiate with him in the past whilst plotting to stab him in the back. Serafall's childlike innocence, made her come off as completely honest. A quality Behemoth respected. "I see your predicament, lady Sitri… Serafall. But still, these animals don't have any protection in this conflict, and this is their home. I cannot endanger their lives. In nature, it may be survival of the fittest, but that doesn't mean I will allow a massacre."
Serafall ponders on various ideas in her head, until finally. "Hey, why don't I arrange it for this territory to be placed under the direct protection of the Sitri household?" At this Behemoth raises a brow. "No, think about it, when the war is over… my household will take care of this forest. It will be under our protection!"
"B-But, what benefit would there be for you in doing such a thing?" Behemoth asked bewildered.
"Well, if I get to station my troops here, we can repel any of the Satan-Faction and push them further into the corners of the Underworld. And we'll get you on our side as well, you get to keep your subjects safe, and I can save daddy. You, me and my entire battalion will not allow a single one of the enemy breach our defense line and reach the forest. We will blow them all away!" Serafall spoke with such childish enthusiasm, that Behemoth couldn't help but softly smile and lightly chuckle.
"You are an interesting character, Serafall Sitri. If your troops can respect the boundaries of the forest… I will allow it." Behemoth had to admit, Serafall's attitude made it seem like they could not fail. This was her first step in becoming the negotiator of foreign affairs for the Underworld. She seemed more honest and kindhearted than any other politician.
After these events, Behemoth would officially side with the Anti-Satan faction and work as Serafall's right hand man. Together they managed to establish an unbreachable defense line. And during the Civil war, were successful in repelling the old Maou Faction into the deepest corners of the Underworld. When Serafall was appointed the position of Leviathan, Behemoth stood right by her, and remained loyal to his commanding officer. Eventually becoming Serafall's Rook. Through the war, Serafall had demonstrated to Behemoth her strength and might, and also her selflessness as she saved his life on many occasions. These collective acts, made Behemoth express his admiration for Serafall, and declaring he owed his life to her and her family.
Behemoth also repaid Serafall, by using local ingredients from the forest to mix and create some medicine for Serafall to give to her father. This type of medicine as Behemoth said it, would not cure Sleep Disease, but would help in treating the early stages of the disease and possibly one day suppress the disease to the point where it wasn't serious. Of course, there were still cases in which someone would get Sleep Disease and be uncurable as they didn't get it checked earlier and were unable to start the treatment in time. Such would be the case with Sairaorg Bael's mother Misla Bael.
Using the medical herbs Behemoth provided from the forest, the Sitri family established local hospitals within the same territory area of the forest. In areas that had already been burnt down as a result of the conflict of the Civil War. The very same forest, that centuries later young Rias Gremory would fall into and be rescued by Sona Sitri and Itachi Sitri, the latter who fought against a demonic wolf.
Serafall today, wept tears after having lost her old friend Behemoth who till his final moments protected Serafall's younger brother Itachi with his very life. Watching as Serafall was breaking down in tears, Azazel looked with a slight guilty expression. The Governor's mind going back to the end of the Kyoto incident. Raven was in the process of rebuilding the damage dealt to the hotel, and remove any evidence of a battle having taken place in the first place. Azazel watched as he saw that their group of human companions seems to have woken up, and rushed out of the hotel. Aika, Matsuda, Motohama, Murayama and Katase all rushed out of the hotel just in time to see Raven remove the remnants of the Queen Anne's Revenge. Transporting the wreckage back at the bottom of the ocean where it originally sank centuries ago.
"What the hell happened here?" Motohama looked in awe as he saw the craters around the area.
Aika was quick to run to Asia's side, and began her questioning. "Asia, what happened here? Are you hurt?"
"And… why are the third- and first-year Devils here?" Matsuda whispered to Issei.
"Long story… we were ambushed by the Hero Faction group. Buchou, Itachi-senpai and the rest came as backup." Issei explained, and instantly the group gained shocked faces all around. How the hell did they miss a terrorist attack?
"What?! But we didn't hear anything…" Aika pointed out.
"They must have put you all under a sleep paralysis spell. You only woke up now as the Hero Faction were driven away." Raven explained, without a doubt it had been the work of Georg who seemed to be versatile and a great variety of magic.
"… Well, are you alright then, Asia?" Aika held onto Asia's shoulders.
"Yes, I'm fine… I wasn't really at the frontlines though…" Asia assured her friend.
"Well, as long as everyone is okay… Were they strong? I mean they were regular humans, right?" Matsuda feeling a bit excited to hear of this adventure, and having confirmed all the other students were alive, he felt eager to learn of this Hero Faction and this battle.
"They were strong… And, not everyone is okay." Raven looked over at Itachi, who was holding onto a crying Serafall. Who was clutching onto two Rook chess pieces. "You knew him as the academy counselor, Behemoth… To Itachi, he was his teacher and mentor. Behemoth was Itachi's older sister's Peerage member, a devil beast known as the Earth King. Behemoth was killed by the leader of the Hero Faction during this battle." Once Raven revealed this, all the humans lightly tensed up. Even they could sense the situation, and see the sadness in various people's eyes.
Azazel watched as the humans joined in on the grieving. All were grieving, except for one entity. Azazel furrowed his brow, as his eyes drifted over to the Moon God, Tsukuyomi who was looking at the humans. "I wasn't aware you had let in mere humans into the affairs of the Three Factions." Tsukuyomi spoke to Azazel, in a calm and laid-back manner, clearly not feeling anything for this entire situation.
Azazel, still with a suspicious look in his eye, looks to the Moon God. "What can I say, kids don't really like keeping secrets from friends." Azazel casually approached Tsukuyomi, and looked like he was done with his usual sarcasm and laid-back attitude. Azazel looked ready to grill Tsukuyomi, demanding answers on their delay. "So, fought off a bunch of Khaos Brigade supporters, huh?" Azazel of course is no fool, and decides to test the waters and play it a bit safe before going too deep with the questioning.
One look from Tsukuyomi's stoic face however, was all Azazel needed to know the God was catching onto what he was after. Despite this, Tsukuyomi nods. "Yes, quite a persistent bunch too. In the end we were unable to even question them on their motives."
At hearing the word "motives" Azazel lightly hummed whilst also clicking his tongue. "What motives indeed…" Tsukuyomi now had fully caught onto Azazel's suspicion of him, and instantly the God's tone of voice changed.
"Careful with your wording Governor. I am known to have, quite the foul temper after all." At this subtle threat, Azazel was done putting up an act and glared at the God.
"Does Amaterasu know of your motives?" Azazel asked in a threating whisper like tone.
Tsukuyomi lightly smirks, as with this whispering, Tsukuyomi knew Azazel wasn't willing to let anyone around them listen in on their conversation. "Does it matter what I answer to that question? Are you going to take my word for it? Or risk asking Amaterasu and either, out me and have her deal out a punishment for me. Or, risk igniting a conflict with her. My sister is benevolent, yes, more so than me anyway. But also very stubborn, and very prideful. And as I, and our younger brother Susano'o can confirm. She has quite the explosive temperament. You make any suggestive insinuations to her, as you have done today against me. You might find yourself facing her wrath. Are you willing to take that gamble, Governor?"
Tsukuyomi could tell, that Azazel knew that a conflict with the Shinto Gods were the last thing they needed now. Azazel was quite upfront, as he says. "I know you aren't with Khaos Brigade. So, you must know what a three-way conflict will mean for our sides. If you have to deal with Khaos Brigade, and us, you will be destroyed." At this little threat, Tsukuyomi only lightly smiles as if he saw the threat as nothing but empty.
"You do know, we the Shinto are allied with the Norse Gods now, right? Our Pantheon has many more allies as well. The bottom point, is if you start a three-way conflict between us and Khaos Brigade. The results won't be favorable to either of us. I think we can agree on that. So, what I suggest, is that you keep your mouth shut. And we won't have any problems. I want to annihilate Khaos Brigade, just as much as you do, Azazel. If I were you, I wouldn't sweat the details of my… intentions and motives. And rather focus, on eliminating a common enemy. All I have done today, was in the best interest of our war effort against Khaos Brigade." Tsukuyomi said as his eyes fell onto Itachi. Azazel quickly caught on, and now had a good idea of what Tsukuyomi's goal today was, to push Itachi into awakening these new eyes.
Azazel's furrows his brows, as his eyes flash golden with anger and he lets out a feral sounding growl at the Moon God. "You stay away from my kids… You don't look at them, you don't come near them, you don't even speak to them. If I even sense you near Itachi or anyone else of those kids… You will regret it."
Not worried at the threat of facing the Fallen Angel Governor's wrath, Tsukuyomi only chuckled. "Well, I would say we have an understanding. But you should know, the child will seek us out. Eventually he will want to learn how to fully utilize the full potential of his newly awakened abilities. Just the simplified, pale imitations he used today won't be enough for him in the future. Farewell for now, Azazel-dono. I must head back for today." Tsukuyomi vanishes in a flash of moon light before Azazel's eyes.
Azazel huffs and puffs his chest with anger, breathing very heavily. Azazel calms himself down, as he looks to the grieving Itachi and Serafall. Seeing their current state, and with the threat of war and Khaos Brigade looming over their heads. Azazel decided it was best to keep quiet on this Tsukuyomi business, for now. 'Forgive me…' Azazel mentally thought to himself, as he joined up with his students.
"Where did Lord Tsukuyomi go?" Sona asked the Governor, whilst silently watching her brother and sister mourn the loss of Behemoth.
"… Lord Tsukuyomi had to go and report of today's incident to Lady Amaterasu. Go, join your siblings in mourning." Azazel gently nudged Sona forward, to join in the embrace with her twin brother and older sister. Azazel let out a deep sigh, as we returned back to present time at the funeral.
Meanwhile, in a hidden unknown location, the remains of the Hero Faction were licking their wounds. In a Victorian styled bathroom, Cao Cao turned on the sink, lightly splashing water onto his scared right eye socket. Memories flashing of Itachi jabbing an ice kunai knife into his right eye, and plucking out his eyeball. Then the memory turning into Itachi using his Susano'o to slash Cao Cao's torso open. Cao Cao pulled out a black eyepatch and placed it over his scared right eye. With a frown, and a look of humiliation on his face, Cao Cao brutally smashes the mirror before him with his own fist in anger.
"Cao Cao, our benefactor is in your office…" Georg the loyal sub-leader of the Hero Faction entered to check on his leader.
"… I will be out in a minute." Cao Cao replied.
"… He said not to keep him waiting." Georg swallowed a nervous lump in his throat, anxious to see Cao Cao do what their benefactor asked.
"Shit…" Cao Cao put on his uniform, and quickly headed out of the bathroom. On the way, where Alex Teach, Heracles, Jeanne, Perseus and Zhuge Liang stood waiting. They joined their leader and sub-leader on a walk down the hallway towards a stylish wooden door.
Entering the room, they debriefed their benefactor of their latest mission in Kyoto. "Ho? And? He kicked your asses crying back home?" A figure seated in a black leather chair ask, as he is solving a Rubiks cube in mere seconds. "Heh, I mean, Siegfried is dead, Marsilio is dead, Momono is dead, Connla is dead… It seems your group is not as good as advertised." The figure chuckles in a light taunting tone.
Heracles snarls in anger, and is about to step forward but is held back by Perseus. Cao Cao on the other hand, looked with a calm smirk and calmly addressed their benefactor in a mild tone. "Siegfried was just weaker than his opponents. And Marsilio, Momono and Connla weren't even main members." Cao Cao places his hands onto the desk and leans forward a bit with a smug look on his face. "Just side characters, really." Cao Cao snickered, not caring that Zhuge Liang and Perseus were in the room. "Besides, nothing to worry about. Perseus is more than powerful enough to fill Siegfried's shoes. Has the spirit of a Greek Demi-God after all. And, we can even throw Zhuge Liang here into the mix, she survived unlike the rest after all."
At hearing this, the figure joins Cao Cao in a light chuckle. "Yeah, but that is not accounting for the loss of an entire crew of at least a hundred men with Sacred Gears. And an entire old pirate ship."
At hearing that follow up criticism, Cao Cao just snorts like it didn't matter to him. "Yeah right, like those numbers mean anything to you."
The figure doesn't deny it, and merely shrugs. "None of them can lead back to me, right?" Sensing a slight dangerous tone in their benefactor's voice, Georg stepped in not trusting Cao Cao with his wording in this.
"Of course not, the only ones who know about you are us. The rest were just grunts that followed orders." At Georg's comment, the figure gave an approving nod.
"No need to kiss his ass, Georg. Besides, you could just as easily find out the answer if you wanted to." Cao Cao hinted at, and the figure gave an entertained chuckle.
"Oh, you are a rascal… Now, did you get what I asked for?" The figure's eyes peered towards Cao Cao's pockets.
Cao Cao cracked a smirk, reaching into his pocket he pulled out a vile containing red thick liquid. It was blood, more precisely, it was Itachi's blood from when Cao Cao had stabbed him with the True Longinus. "Excellent." The figure took the vile from Cao Cao.
"Why do you want his blood anyway?" Cao Cao asked, and the figure just chuckled.
"It's a secret~" As always, no straight answer Cao Cao thinks as he lightly furrows his brow. "You are dismissed…"
Cao Cao however, didn't feel like leaving. Feeling a bit cheeky, Cao Cao leans closer to the figure. "By the way, I haven't asked before, because frankly I couldn't have cared less originally… But why, did you want us to kill Itachi Sitri? And did you know his Sharingan eyes could produce black flames, mind fucking level illusions… Oh, and a large fucking skeleton spectral warrior with a sword that cut me up?" Cao Cao asked seeming a bit salty over the lack of information they had gotten. "Hmm, because see… If I am going to kill someone for you, I would prefer as much intel as possible."
At this, the figure goes quiet. "You mean his eyes evolved further?" The figure asked in a slight low, dangerous sounding tone that had Georg flinch. "I have a question for you, how come I am only hearing of this now?" The aura this benefactor was unleashing, had all but Cao Cao tremble.
Cao Cao shrugs at the question. "Must have slipped my mind. I am a human, what do you expect. But you? An all-seeing God, didn't see that coming for yourself? Lord Indra."
The figure was none other than the King of the Gods, Lord of the Heavens in the Hindu Pantheon. The God of War, storms and rainfall. Indra. He was a tall man reaching roughly up to 195 cm in height. He had a buzz-cut hairstyle with greenish brown hair and lavender colored eyes, hidden behind circular sunglasses. Dressed in an aloha shirt and with jewel beads around his neck. His forehead, was marked with the vermillion mark. Indra's aura was overwhelming, as one of the Top 10 Strongest Beings in the World, he was capable of destroying multiple universes and realms at once, and thus he had earned the Hero Faction's fear.
Despite who he was talking to, Cao Cao boldly said. "By the way, I am still waiting for the answer to my question."
Georg and the rest backing up in slight fear, expecting their leader to be struck down, Indra instead chuckled at Cao Cao's boldness. "You need to learn, Cao Cao. Just because you ask a question, doesn't mean you will receive an answer." Indra stood up from his seat, his body emitting a strong violet colored aura. "Also… are you starting to doubt my ability? You? Who I have given such… special treatment to during training? Now, I think you know… my abilities are not to be brought into questioning, correct?" Indra puts his hand on Cao Cao's shoulder, who lightly cringes as he clutches onto his own wrist as if it was injured.
Cao Cao took a few deep breaths, as he recalled those brutal training sessions. Seeing this look on Cao Cao's face, Indra softly chuckles. "Ahaha, I see you recall after all." Gently, Indra pats Cao Cao's cheek as if he was praising a dog. "Good."
Cao Cao was clearly seething with anger, and Indra knew it, but didn't care. "Since you realized that fact. I will do you a solid, and answer your questions. Yes, I did know his eyes could do all that should they ever evolve. Reason I didn't tell you, well was because they simply hadn't evolved at the time. And as for why I want, or wanted Itachi dead… as an all-seeing God, and with the power of foresight. I can see bits of the future. And Itachi Sitri, is simply a troublesome existence. And, someone did something, that they shouldn't have when Itachi was born. And I wish to find out who that entity is. Clear?" Indra asked, and in truth this only left Cao Cao with more questions than answers. But he could sense Indra was growing tired of his questioning.
"Clear…" Cao Cao mumbled, and Indra chuckled.
"Ah, that's a good lad." Leaning back in his chair, Indra decided to look upon his vision once more. Using his inner eye to peer into the future. Indra stood before a field of fire and destruction. Battles in which Gods from various Pantheons had to join in on the battle to fight Itachi Sitri and the Sins. But this time, Indra saw the vision was rather mixed. Glitching in-between Itachi and the Sins fighting against the Gods, into a similar vision of Itachi and the Sins in the Underworld, fighting Sirzechs Lucifer and the Four Maou, and all of the Underworld instead.
Indra wasn't sure on what to make of this vision, but what he did notice was the hooded figure of the Unseen One, observing both visions. "Curious, isn't it?" The Unseen One asks, to Indra the Unseen One appeared as a translucent silhouette.
Indra tried to reach out for the Unseen One to unveil his identity, but to no such luck. The Unseen One chuckles. "Still this desperate Indra? Sad really." The voice of the Unseen One was distorted, preventing Indra from figuring out who he was through voice recognition.
"… Entering my mind is one thing. But how you entered my vision itself. You must be quite the powerful being to manage such a dimensional feat." Indra glared at the Unseen One. "I will find out who you are… Count on it."
The Unseen One just chuckles in responds. "Even if you did, what are you going to do? Kill me?" Contemplating the idea, Indra walks circles around the Unseen One.
"Like I said, you must be quite powerful to enter my future vision like this and talk to me. You must be a God… or some other powerful entity. What is more, you broke the law. You reincarnated a being from a different world, to the core realms. Why?"
The Unseen One shrugs. "Do you not see what is going on in these visions? Some foresight, you are so short sighted you fail to see the answer right under your nose." At hearing this light taunt, Indra only chuckles.
"Man, you are a riot… You work for Shiva or something? Because if I am going to war, I hope you are on the opposite side so I can destroy you." Indra revealed not only his desire for war, but also his dislike for the Hindu God of Destruction.
"I work for no one." The Unseen One casually shakes his head. "And, if a war happens between you and Shiva, I won't be around to even see it. Frankly Indra, your entire Pantheon matters very little to me."
No longer keeping his cool, Indra snarls at the Unseen One and practically roars in his face. "Every single Pantheon! Even the Three Factions… Are trying to figure out, who gave Itachi Sitri those powers. But, entities like me… the top-level Gods wonder who resurrected a dead mortal and made him into a demonic deity."
The Unsee One's silhouette is fading, as he is ending this little call with Indra. "The answer, Indra… Is someone trying to secure the future." The Unseen One reveals before he vanishes into thin air.
Indra leans back with a sigh, exiting his future vision as he leans back into his seat. Looking to the ceiling, as the Hero Faction are making their exit from the office. "Cao Cao, don't worry about killing Itachi Sitri anymore. I got all I need." Indra says as he holds the valve with Itachi's blood. Indra now curious as to what the Unseen One has planned. Interested to such an extent, that Indra considered killing Itachi a waste of potential entertainment. And a possible asset to his agenda to wage war against Shiva.
Cao Cao however, didn't seem that satisfied with that order. And merely grunted, clearly wanting revenge for the humiliation he suffered by Itachi's hand. As he exited the office, Cao Cao looked to Perseus. "Perseus, I need to cash in on a little favor." Cao Cao held his hand over his eyepatch, and looked with a furious glare.
Cao Cao's eye burned with intense rage and desire for revenge, Cao Cao's blue eye transitioned into a glowing yellow iris in a red eye burning with hatred. Kokabiel, the disgraced Fallen Angel leader stood in a deserted crater filled land area. The light gravity had his robes almost frozen in place and unmoving. A black starry skied canvas surrounded him, as his eyes gazed upon the blue jewel of the solar system, Earth. Kokabiel was standing on the surface of the moon, watching Earth from afar.
Ever since his escape from the Devils after his defeat at the hands of Bob the Grizzly Sin of Sloth. Kokabiel had to retreat to a place none would look for him. A place where only one entity knew he would hide, but that entity was long dead, his own creator the Biblical God. Kokabiel winched in pain, the constant pain from Trigon infiltrating his mind, commanding him to obey his every whim, Kokabiel had become the complete servant of the Lord of Purgatory, little more than a slave to Trigon's every whim. Yet despite this pain, Kokabiel was able to spend a lot of his alone time on reflecting about his past.
More specifically, his past relationships to his brethren and his creator. When first thinking of God, Kokabiel felt pride. How could he not feel pride in his creator? The mightiest of all the mortal Gods, the God who singlehandedly carried an entire Pantheon on his own, and was able to spread his influence across the human world through many religions. Yahweh, his creator was the God responsible for majority of creation in the core worlds and most of the multiverse.
To Kokabiel, his creator was a symbol of power. Without a doubt, it played a large part in why Kokabiel deemed Angels, God's own children, as the mightiest out of the 3 Factions. Hence, why when thinking of his creator, Kokabiel could only feel pride at first. But slowly as he rethought certain events, that feeling of pride turned into one of disdain and anger. Despite the power his father wielded, and his supposed unconditional compassion and love, his father had rejected him. Rejected his children who went against his rules, and casted them out of Heaven turning them into Fallen. That feeling of betrayal and rejection, topped with the memory of God coming to his side as a young Kokabiel would hide on the dark side of the moon every time he felt depressed. Images of his creator comforting him, replaced with images of his creator banishing him.
The feeling of rejection, filled Kokabiel's heart ultimately with hatred for his father. And a desire for revenge against his own creator and Angel brethren grew. Kokabiel in particular remembered three particular Angels, and his relationship and view of them. One of them being the Fallen Angel Governor, Azazel. And the other two being the twin Angel duo, Michael and Samael.
Kokabiel remembered the early days in Heaven fondly. His feeling of admiration for Michael and Samael, as they were the strongest out of all the Angels, and in their realm, they were second only to their creator himself. Michael and Samael were so powerful, they blessed Gods universes with an abundance of stars, acting as glimmers of light in the vast void of darkness. Watching the stars, Kokabiel remembered his brothers fondly, especially Samael. The most brilliant out of all the Angels, the Light Bringer, the Morningstar. But then, Samael grew envious of God's newest creation, man. A creation their creator, and some of the other Pantheon Gods cojoined into creating. This made Samael decide to test their father's latest project in the form of tempting Adam and Eve with the apple of knowledge. That however, was the biggest mistake his once beautiful brother could have made.
Kokabiel remembered how horrified he felt that day, seeing the once bright and beautiful Samael, having been twisted by his own envy into a horrific Dragon-like creature. With his blood having become poison to all Dragons and Snakes as punishment for his act against God's will, and Adam and Eve. God with a regretful look, shedding a tear even, banishes what once was his pride and joy, and arguably his favorite son, to the deepest parts of the Underworld for his crime.
Kokabiel watched Samael fall, as the first ever Fallen Angel. Kokabiel had to watch, as his brother fell to the Underworld, and into the clutches of the Lucifer family. Kokabiel remembered the rumors spreading in Heaven as a result of Samael's fall, the fall of the most loved Angel had spread seeds of doubt amongst the rest. Some believed that God feared that with Samael turning into a Dragon, a new apocalyptic beast like Trihexa might be born.
Kokabiel, like so many of his brethren watching his idol fall, had Kokabiel for the first time doubt his creator. The seeds of doubt planted, and continued to expand over the course of time. Until the day would come, where Azazel led a rebellion against their creator, a rebellion Kokabiel and several other Angels supported. Azazel to Kokabiel had always seemed like the unserious type, but seeing their brother Samael fall, sparked outrage within Azazel, leading him to for once to be serious. And in that moment, Kokabiel remembered he admired Azazel's might. Azazel was arguably nearly as powerful as Michael and Samael after all. He was just far lazier, but during the rebellion he seemed more inspiring than ever.
However, their rebellion was thwarted as Michael, Gabriel and the other Arch Angels subdued them all easily. They never even reached their creator's throne, and were only brought before their creator after their rebellion was thwarted. And then, they were cast out just like Samael had been.
When first falling to the Underworld, Kokabiel searched far and wide for his fallen brother Samael, but he was nowhere to be found. Azazel brought the rest of the Fallen as they were now. They're once white wings having been tainted with the blackened ashes forged in fire.
Kokabiel during the early days of their fall, learnt that their powers over light had diminished somewhat. This was something all the Fallen Angels felt, they had become impure, and no longer could wield angelic light properly like they once used to. Kokabiel himself estimated he was about roughly using 70% of the original power he held as an Angel. Yet, despite his diminished power, he was still mighty enough to easily erase the Devil filth that resided in the Underworld.
Thinking of their Angelic powers of light, Kokabiel began thinking of Amon. Amon was born a Fallen Angel, born in the Underworld with his sisters. But Amon, unlike any other Angel since Samael, was born with so much potential. Amon's mutated light manipulation ability, brought Amon's power beyond the levels of Azazel, and to the level of Michael despite being a Fallen. Which meant, Amon's potential far surpassed that of Michael and Samael. Kokabiel wanted to use Amon, to have all Fallen Angels one day return to the full potential they once wielded as regular Angels. Without being restricted by the weakness that was their creator's rules.
Kokabiel's thoughts were violently interrupted, as a wave of pain washes over him. "Enough of your senseless reflection. Continue with the plan. Raven is already onto us. And as a result, so is Itachi and the Three Faction." Trigon's booming voice echoed in his head.
"You are the one who caught that witch's attention in the first place!" Kokabiel spoke through gritted teeth, and suddenly fell onto his knees screaming in pain as the mark of Trigon on his forehead began burning.
"Silence or I shall have your tongue. Raven knowing of my influence matters not, as long as you continue to remain on schedule, she cannot hope to stop us. My daughter may be brilliant and filled with the potential of my bloodline. But she is far too empathic to her friends and mortals to ever dare use her power to find me. Besides, the plan requires her to panic knowing of my existence. I thrive of seeing her quake in fear~" Kokabiel shivered, even the warmonger thought Trigon to be terrifying and pure evil. The demonic overlord, the Biblical God and the Apocalypse beast, were three entities that were created from the chaotic clashes of Ophis and Great Red. Kokabiel only remembered the stories his creator told of the battle before time and space itself existed. Ophis and Great Red were born from the nothingness. Unsure of how, where and when it happened, as neither where or when was even a concept yet. It all happened so long ago, one could say it never happened at all, as there was no time or location to determine when or where it happened. And that is exactly where it all started.
The chaos as a result of the two Infinity beings clashing in battle, led to time and space's beginning and creation. It also created three entities, one from the pure positive energy of the two Infinity beings' powers, this being Yahweh the Biblical God, the other born from the negative energy being the Demonic Overlord Trigon. And lastly the third one born from the destructive force, 666 Trihexa the Apocalypse beast. Eventually, the remnants of the chaos of Ophis and Great Red's battle, created more Gods. And these Gods along with Yahweh went on to create the multiverse. Where at first, Trigon and Trihexa with their evil and chaos wreaked havoc upon all creation. Until with the help of the Netherworld Gods led by the Greek God Hades many millennia into the future, helped Yahweh create a dimension to lock away these two destructive entities. Purgatory, where according to the myth of his creator's death, was where Yahweh sealed away Trigon and Trihexa.
And lastly an entity that Trigon, one of the three entities created from the clash of infinity beings, had brought to Kokabiel's attention. Which was also an entity that was prophesized by the Biblical God to bring about either peace or a great calamity. Kokabiel still didn't want to believe it to be true, he didn't want to believe his mighty creator prophesized a mere Devil to achieve such power. Itachi Sitri. Kokabiel would admit, the Sitri Prince was highly skilled in the art of combat, and an exceptionally powerful Devil for his age. But Kokabiel absolutely refused to believe that his creator's prophecy revolved around Itachi. As that would mean, as some of the Angels like Gabriel had interoperated their father's prophecy, was that Itachi was to potentially take their creator's place. No matter how much Kokabiel despised said creator now, he refused to tarnish the image of his creator to such an extent. "Once Itachi has served his purpose… we will kill him, right?" Kokabiel asked out loud.
"Indeed, that boy is merely the key to break me out of this prison. Once that is done, he is of no further use." Trigon replied, giving Kokabiel some satisfaction at the idea of eliminating one of the sources to his humiliation. As well, as the clearing his creator's name. No way a mere Devil would be his successor.
Said Devil, was currently seated in the lab of Ajuka Beelzebub. Nearly right after Behemoth's funeral, Serafall had taken Itachi in for an examination. Ajuka flashed a small light into Itachi's eyes, analyzing the new pattern that was Itachi's Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. "Curious. This is quite the evolution compared to the other times." Ajuka hummed, his voice filled with intrigue over the chance of gaining new knowledge.
"… It is the natural evolution." Itachi replied, causing Ajuka to raise a brow. It sounded almost as if Itachi had experienced this change once before.
"Care to elaborate?" Ajuka asked.
"It is called the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. It is the evolution from Mangekyou Sharingan, which again is the evolution from your basic Sharingan. Ajuka-sama, I am done keeping secrets. There is no need to examine me further."
"What do you mean?" Ajuka turned off the light, as he and Serafall looked at him with mixed reactions. Serafall looked on edge and worried as expected. But Ajuka looked more intrigued than anything.
"… I have always known of the nature of my eyes and abilities since the start. And I didn't share it with you in the past, out of fear it could either be used against me someday. Or that I would come off as suspicious. I wanted to, start anew. I know it probably doesn't make sense right now. But later today, I promise you it will." Itachi stood up from his seat, and headed for the exit, but was stopped by Serafall.
"It-tan, what do you mean? Are you feeling alright?" Serafall was anxious, was what Ophis had told her all true? That Itachi wasn't her brother.
"… I'm fine. Sorry, nee-san, you know I am not good at expressing myself through… words. But I promise today. Bring mother, father, whoever you need to the movie theater in mine, Sona and Rias' home in the human world this afternoon. Ajuka-sama, you are welcome as well naturally. I have already asked Sirzechs-sama… Rias… Sona… Sairaorg and everyone else to come as well. I just wish, Behemoth-sensei could have been there as well… But I promise, everything is okay." Itachi clasped his hands gently around Serafall's, who looked more concerned than ever, but she gave a nod of understanding.
"This afternoon…" Serafall nodded, and quietly backed down.
"Yeah, this afternoon…" Itachi let out a loud exhale, as he was still mentally preparing himself. Itachi was just thankful that he could show them all with his Sharingan rather than explain it all to them with his words. It made things somewhat easier for him. "I need to go and prepare… Later." Itachi teleports out from the lab, and back to his home in the human world.
Taking in a couple of deep breaths to ease this nervous feeling building up within him. Itachi quietly headed for the movie theater in his basement to prepare himself, and without anyone noticing as he needed to be alone to mentally prepare himself. Walking down to the big projector screen, Itachi looked out at the various empty rows of seats that soon were about to be filled. The mere thought had him feeling anxious. Last time he had shared the truth with Sasuke, was because it would be his last act alive, and he owed Sasuke the truth after everything. Now, here he was, still alive in a different world, about to reveal the same truth to a bunch of people. All people who had grown to be dear to his heart. Without the Shinobi law of restraining emotion, Itachi had been able to see the world in a different light. What he had once only seen in Sasuke, the innocence and representing the one true thing Itachi had in his life of lies and deceit. The one absolute undeniable truth he had in his previous life, his love for his younger brother. In this new world, he was able to see other absolute truths. His love for his sisters, his peerage, Rias, Akeno, friends and family. His love for all of them, was true.
As Itachi sat in the empty theater, he felt someone sit next to him. "Hello there, young master." Behemoth, his deceased mentor appeared sitting next to him, beaming with a smile underneath his beard and a look of pride in his eye as he gazed upon his student.
"…" Itachi knew the Behemoth next to him was just a memory, and not real. But Itachi never the less, embraced the memory of his teacher.
"… It may not have been that long. But you seem clearer than ever before." Behemoth chuckled as he held his arms around Itachi.
"I'm sorry…" Itachi mumbled, blaming himself somewhat for Behemoth's death. And also feeling guilty he never got a chance to tell Behemoth the truth.
"You have nothing to apologize for. You know me, young master. A reveal like this of your past, wouldn't have bothered me in the slightest. You are still the same young man I mentored. You are still my pride and joy, no matter what." They broke their hug, and Behemoth's ghostly hand touched Itachi's cheek. "You have grown so much, in such a short amount of time since our last training session. I couldn't be prouder." Itachi lightly trembled, to think a mere few days ago, Behemoth was still alive.
"Sensei… thank you, for everything. For all that you have taught me, magic and life lessons, thank you." Itachi knew this wasn't real, he knew this might as well just be an illusion. However, one's reality might be another's illusion. Itachi's restricted knowledge on things, like how divine and holy weapons worked, was that if a devil is slain by either had their very soul destroyed. But that was only based on his own individual knowledge, and that knowledge might be another's illusion. For all anyone knew, it might just have been a scare tactic developed by the Angels or the Church, to mentally weaken Devils on the battlefield when facing a holy weapon. Itachi comforted himself with his limited knowledge. As this meant, that perhaps reality was that although Behemoth was dead, his soul was not. So maybe, darkness was not all that awaited his mentor at the end. And even if that idea in itself might be an illusion Itachi had placed on himself, it still didn't matter. All that mattered, was that it wasn't impossible. One could never really know, unless one is killed. Behemoth had received the answer to this question. Does a devil's soul get annihilated when slain by a holy or divine weapon or not? In the end, no one besides those slain by them could give a true answer. Even though they had forever been silenced from sharing that answer with those that still lived. The fact that this question remains truly unanswered, gave Itachi in a sense some comfort over his mentor's passing. No one truly knew what the afterlife for Devils, Angels, Fallen Angels, and Gods even looked like, or if there even was one.
As Itachi was lost in his philosophical thoughts, the image of Behemoth next to him had faded and he was left alone with his thoughts. Before Itachi knew it, it was the afternoon. He figured that out, as Sirzechs Lucifer was the first one to arrive. Sirzechs appeared out of a magic circle accompanied by his wife Grayfia, as well as Zeoticus and Venelana Gremory. "Are you early? Or did I lose track of time?" Itachi asked upon seeing their arrival.
"Well, we may be a bit early." Sirzechs said with a light joking comradery tone. "It's not often Grayfia gives me the day off." He whispered that last part, causing his wife to frown at him, fighting back the urge to pinch her husband's cheek considering the seriousness tone in the room. "… I guess we'll just take our seats until everyone else arrives." Sirzechs sensing the mood, knew it wasn't the time for jokes, and was more than willing to accept this awkward silence as they waited. Without a doubt, Itachi needed to prepare himself for whatever he was about to share with everyone. Sirzechs knew Itachi well enough to know he was a serious person, and usually a bit closed off to talk about his own personal feelings. So, for Itachi to call them all here like this, Sirzechs knew it had to be serious.
Quietly, Venelana and Zeoticus Gremory sat down as well in the middle row behind their son and his wife. They saved up the seats up front, without a doubt they had the idea those were saved for Rias, Sona, the Sins and Itachi's fellow academic attendant devils. It didn't take long before more arrived, following Sirzechs and his family, were Serafall with Esdeath and Malphas and Serena Sitri. The concerned mother and sister walked right up to Itachi. "My baby boy, are you okay? You look pale?" Serena was usually one to hold back with public affection, but seeing her only son distressed she was quick to show her motherly instincts.
"I'm fine, mother… Just, a bit nervous I guess." Itachi tried to brush it off, and quietly urged for his parents and older sister to sit down.
"Son, you sure? You look like you could use some water, or something." Malphas didn't want to embarrass his son, but he couldn't help but show a bit concern.
Serafall didn't say a word, which was even more uncharacteristic for her. She instead quietly sat down on the second row with their mother and father and her queen. Arriving next, was Ajuka Beelzebub, not saying a word he sat next to Sirzechs and Grayfia. Azazel entered through the door leading into the theater. "I guess everyone else is here… Okay, let's go everyone." Azazel like a teacher on a field trip, led the rest into the theater. Rias, Sona and their peerage members filled up the front and second row along with the Sins. Minus Harry who was too big and decided to stay in the far back. Bob being in his petite form however, was seated next to Rossweisse, both exchanging awkward glances. Azazel, like Harry decided to stand in the far back.
Itachi stood up, looking out on all that were gathered here today. "Well, I guess this is everyone…"
"Not everyone." Sairaorg declared, walking into the theater. Him and Itachi, like proper rivals/brothers exchanged a nod of acknowledgment. "Sorry if I was late… My peerage and I just finished our training session. They are all resting, so it will just be me today."
"That is fine… crowd is already big enough as it is." Itachi gave a light awkward chuckle. Itachi looks a bit uncomfortable, speaking before such a big crowd. "I didn't expect such a turnout… Before I begin, I must tell you all something. What I am about to tell you, or show you rather… isn't pretty. Everything Ophis has told you about me, is true." Itachi revealed already earning him a few shocked gasps and confused looks. "I killed a whole clan, filled with men, women and children. If you are faint of heart, now is your last chance to back out… Once you learn the truth, there will be no going back."
At hearing this, some people exchanged uneasy looks. Serafall even started looking a bit heartbroken, remembering Ophis telling her Itachi wasn't her real brother. Sirzechs remained cool and level headed, not even showing a reaction to what Itachi just said. "We won't go anywhere." Sirzechs gave his assurance to Itachi. They all knew, what Itachi was about to show them wasn't going to be easy for any of them, but most of all it wasn't easy for Itachi himself. They all had prepared themselves for the worst.
Itachi takes a few deep breaths. "Alright, then-" Before Itachi can continue, Serafall speaks up and stops him.
"Wait! Y-You are my brother, right?" Serafall says as she is trembling, with tears building up in her eyes.
"What?" Itachi looks caught off guard and astonished at the question.
"Ophis… told me, I didn't have a brother, that you weren't who we thought you were, is it true?" Serafall carefully asks.
Itachi sighs, as he hadn't expected Ophis to say such a thing to Serafall. "Serafall, yes, I am your brother. Pretty sure we have photos of mine and Sona's birth to prove that as a fact. In fact, I remember you taking a group family photo that day." Itachi revealed and as Serafall let out a sigh of relief, her, Sona's and their parents looked a bit confused.
"Wait, how can you remember that? You were a newborn baby?" Serafall asked, and everyone else seemed a bit curious to hear the answer as well.
"… I remember a lot of things. I remember feeling a bit surprised someone like you was my older sister, I gave you a certain look I suppose, and instantly you assumed I didn't like you and started bawling your eyes out. Until I grabbed ahold of your hair and called you "onee-chan", or with my still developing vocal cords. "onee-chwan." And then you grabbed me and a giggling baby Sona, and hugged us tight into your chest which nearly suffocated me." At hearing Itachi perfectly summarize the events taking place just after his and Sona's birth, the Sitri family was left awestruck.
"I-I don't remember telling the story in such detail to you before…" Serena mumbled.
"I remember everything from the moment I was born until now." Itachi revealed to which his father and mother sweat dropped.
"E-Everything?" Malphas mumbled, thinking of the times Serena would breastfeed Itachi and Sona, and jokingly asking if he could have a sip. And Serena remembering the times she and Malphas would occasionally fool around, with Itachi and Sona being in the crib next to their bed. As such, both parents were red in the face.
"Yes… everything." Itachi confirmed with a slight cheeky smirk, finding it slight amusing at seeing his parents embarrassed like this.
"Wait, how can you remember all that? I don't remember anything further back than when we were four years old!" Sona pointed out.
"Which is it that you remember? All the time you used to follow me around? Or the times I let you win at hide and seek?" Sona before she could say anything halted for a moment.
"What do you mean all the times you let me win?" Sona sounded a bit insulted, like her pride had somehow taken a blow from that.
"I mean like me sticking my foot out, just enough for you to see where I was hiding. Or ignore hearing the sounds of you giggling as you were hiding underneath a table." Itachi playfully pointed out, as Sona sort of remembered those events, and was now red in the face as she heard her fellow classmates, and peerage members giggle at hearing a story from her childhood.
"… Anyway, as I was going to say. Yes, I was born into the Sitri family. I love you, and you are my family. But, at the same time, I suppose from a certain point of view, Ophis wasn't entirely wrong either in that statement, I suppose." Itachi quickly changed the fun good mood, over to a more dire one. "The reason I remember everything from my birth, is because when I was born, I had the conscious mind of a 21-year-old man. Before I was Itachi Sitri, I lived a different life in an alternate world completely different from this current one. I was Itachi Uchiha, a Shinobi… I died, and was reborn as Itachi Sitri."
At hearing this, they were all greatly shocked, although some had a hard time in believing this. "Y-You're kidding, right? You are some isekai anime protagonist? Is that what you are telling us?" Issei asked with disbelief, one that many in the room shared.
"Heh, is it really that farfetched from the Devil life you currently live?" Itachi playfully asked with a raised brow.
"W-Well… I mean, another world? Is that even a thing?" Issei looked around.
"It is." Ajuka Beelzebub confirmed, his legs crossed as he leaned back into his seat. "Multiverse theory is already something the human world has discussed previously. Although we Devils don't know the full details, multiverse isn't just a theory. It is real. But the full knowledge is reserved mostly for the Gods, Azazel here probably knows more about this than myself, being a former servant of God."
Azazel groaned a bit at Ajuka's wording, but he was correct. "… Yes, multiverses are indeed a thing. Although not quite how humans have theorized. Some are complete alternate realities from our own, different worlds, whilst some are just as theorized alternate timelines and what not. Others, are just empty spaces that have been claimed by Gods as their domains. Such as the Norse world's nine realms in Yggdrasil. Or the Greek Gods with Olympus. Or even the Biblical Heaven for Angels. All are in different dimensions, which are essentially universes the Gods created for themselves. Even Purgatory is a Universe created by the Netherworld Gods, and the Biblical God used to imprison Trigon and the Apocalypse beast. Each Pantheon over the many millennia since the beginning of time, has probably created worlds to their own design where only they have influence. This world we are currently in, is known as the core world. As this is where Gods of various Pantheons pitched in their efforts to create, as such they each have their influences everywhere with various different religions serving them in the mortal realm. The Underworld, and various other divine realms, are counted as part of the core world as this is where it all began." Azazel explained his basic knowledge on how the multiverse worked, which Itachi especially found insightful as this meant indeed some Gods probably know of the Sharingan, and could have told the Hero Faction. And if it is based off the religions that hold influence in the Shinobi world, Itachi had it narrowed down to Shintoism and Buddhism, well also other small religions such as the one his former fellow Akatsuki member, Hidan believed in. If that religion even was a real thing.
Many were still greatly shocked at the revelation that Itachi was from another world, he could tell they all had many questions. Deciding it was best to stop them before the questions got out of hand, Itachi spoke up. "Before you ask any further questions, it would be better if I just showed you all… the entire truth." Itachi activates his Sharingan and glares out at the crowd, who all suddenly feel their heartbeats slow down and echo in their own ears.
Out of either shock, or pure instinct everyone stood up from their seats as it felt like their very minds were being pulled far away. Before everyone knew it, the very scenery before them had changed. They were standing on a deserted rain puddled filled area, with dark rain cloud filling the sky. Their skin felt a bit moist as with the humid air it felt as if the rain had just ended. They could feel everything going around them, like they had actually been dragged out somewhere. "Where are we?" Rias asked as she along with everyone else took a quick look around.
Sniffing the air, Koneko, Kuroka and Eto with their enhanced senses of smell picked up something. "Smells like… smoke? Fire… and…" Kuroka carefully analyzed what she was smelling.
"Blood." Eto finished as the iron smell of blood filled her nostrils.
"I'm starting to get anxious…" Asia backed up, hearing the sound of her heel coming into contact with something of metal. Looking down to the ground, she noticed a shuriken.
Sirzechs, Azazel, Ajuka, Serafall, Esdeath, Venelana, Zeoticus, Malphas, Serena, Grayfia, Rossweisse, Harry and Eto all steel their gazes ahead as their ears pick up the sound of distant explosions. The far more experienced warriors recognized this place for what it was, a battlefield in the middle of a war. Without a word, the ones experienced in warfare walked towards the echoing sound of explosions.
The rest shortly followed, and the closer they got, they saw bright flashing lights in the smoky horizon. And the banging sounds of explosions vibrated through the air, along with battle cries of countless people. As they walk towards the edge of a hill, they hear the sound of small footsteps coming from behind them.
Everyone stops shortly, as they look behind them seeing a young small boy. The boy had jet-black hair, and wore a black high collared shirt with a symbol Raven, Kuroka and Rias recognized on his back. The mark of the red and white fan. The boy walked past them, not even acknowledging them. As he walked straight through Issei, they knew why the boy didn't say anything to them or even as much look at them. Instead, his sad, confused black eyes gazed down from the hill they were standing on.
Everyone looked down from the hill, and saw armies of men killing each other. All dressed in some kind of uniform, different colored and styled, they all wore a headband, with different symbols. The younger ones who had never experienced war, could only gasp as they saw all this senseless killing. Those with experience in war, merely stared with unfeeling expressions. "Wh-What is all this?" Saji mumbled, having a small lump in his throat as he felt anxious being this close to a battlefield.
"War…" Azazel calmly answered.
Rias was not focused on the battle taking place before her, her eyes were fixated on the young boy with the red and white fan emblem on his back. "Itachi…" Rias mumbled, instantly recognizing the young boy as Itachi. This caught everyone's attention as they all now looked at the young boy.
"It is…" Serena gasped as the boy was identical to Itachi when he was roughly around 4 to 5 years old.
"But… what is he doing here?" Malphas was genuinely confused, had Itachi been curious to the sound of the explosions and with childlike wonder rushed to see the battle for himself? It didn't sound like his son, but then again, this was Itachi in his past life before he had ever been reincarnated and matured mentally to an adult.
"Onii-sama…" Sona knelt down to get a look at young Itachi's face. He looked so sad, confused.
'This is… the Third Great Ninja war.' The young boys' thoughts echoed within mind of everyone else. They heard his thoughts, and felt his emotions. Young 4-year-old Itachi felt confused at seeing all this carnage. What was the point of all this? Why were all these men killing each other? To what end? To what purpose? What was their meaning of life? Were all thoughts they felt going through young Itachi's mind.
As the sun begins rising up, the clouds having cleared. The battlefield was filled with nothing but corpses. Some already starting to decompose, giving the air the foul odor of death. Yet, the young Itachi walked through it, walking over bloodied blades and weapons, scorched burnt pieces of earth, smoldered down barriers of earth and stone. Walking over puddles of water from the rain, and blood alike. 'This is horrible…' Young Itachi thought as he looked at the seemingly endless ocean of death.
"What is going on here?" Sirzechs trembled with fury. "Why is a young child here?"
"Maybe… he got curious as to what those sounds were earlier?" Grayfia suggested, but Ajuka was quick to dismiss the idea.
"No, judging by his thoughts and feelings. Itachi in this moment, knows very well what this is… What he wonders now is, why?" Ajuka could tell this might be the first time Itachi saw war and battle, but he could also tell Itachi didn't react like your average child. Even though he was only 4-years-old, his eyes already looked matured.
"Water…! Water…!" A raspy dried out voice pleaded amongst the sea of dead, and young Itachi without hesitation ran to the man's aid. A man in perhaps his thirties, dressed in a red uniform with a headband carrying the symbol of what appeared to be two stones.
Friend or foe, the young Itachi held the man up by the back of his neck, and held a bottle of water to his mouth. The man carefully drank the water, regaining his voice back enough to mumble out a word. "Thanks…" The man looked to the young child helping him, but as his eyes trailed down to a pouch on Itachi's leg, the man's eyes shot wide open. Without another word, the man grabbed a kunai knife and sat up aiming to stab the young Itachi. Before the observing crowd could even gasp at this man deciding to kill a child, said child pulled out a kunai knife of his own and slit the man's throat without a moment of hesitation.
"Huh?" The young Itachi looked confused for a moment, he had acted purely out of instinct and had not even had a moment to think of his actions, or even of a reaction. Itachi watched as the man fell into a thud to the ground, blood gurgling out from his throat as he died. 'Why?' Itachi thought.
Sirzechs, Ajuka, Serafall, Rossweisse, Azazel, Grayfia, Esdeath all quickly reacted as a new presence appeared before them. A tall man wearing a green vest with a red swirly symbol on the back, and a banner on his upper shoulder carrying the same emblem as Itachi did on his back. Seeing this emblem, many were quick to assume this man was Itachi's ally.
"Watch out!" Issei tried to warn the young Itachi who didn't seem to notice the man, but nothing happened.
"Father…" Young Itachi spoke as he stood up. "Why did this Shinobi try to kill me? I didn't do anything wrong?" The young Itachi asked this man that apparently was his father.
"Because this is war. No one trusts anyone outside of their own nation. Even trust amongst one's own troops is limited. Listen Itachi, make sure to burn this sight into memory. This is what the Shinobi world is like." Itachi and his father gazed out upon the sea of bodies scattered before them. "In a few years you will be a Shinobi too. This war might end, but the reality of a Shinobi does not change. This is the world you will step into." His father lectured him.
'I see… so that is the lesson father wanted to teach me, by bringing me out here.' The moment young Itachi thought that, many of the adults looked outraged as their eyes snapped wide open.
"… You were his father, and you brought him here?" Malphas Sitri, the current father of Itachi glared holes through the image of Fugaku Uchiha.
"This is just… what Itachi's old world must have been like." Azazel sighed. He wasn't unfamiliar with such scenes as this. Azazel through his many millennia of experience, knew many would live through such fates as Itachi did in this moment. "His father, was trying to teach him how to survive in such a world most likely."
However, everyone felt what Itachi did in this moment. Horrified, yet also in a sense accepting that this was reality. This moment did indeed burn itself within Itachi's memory, to such an extent that later on he struggled to remember a moment in his life earlier than this. The sights Itachi had seen on this day, traumatized him. 'I want to… put a stop to all this.' The young Itachi thought, already determined to one day end all war. The dream of a child, the dream a grown man knew impossible to achieve. In a sense, this was the only childlike innocence Itachi had at this age.
The scenery changed into a gathering before a memorial. The war was over, and a ceremony to honor those that gave their lives for their village and its people was taking place. Itachi already in this moment, thought. 'So, that was the purpose of their lives? Maintain peace for the village and its people… But what is a village? What is a Shinobi? Why was it worth risking your lives for? Who am I? What is the meaning of my life?' Many were baffled, already so young, and Itachi was asking philosophical questions no child would ever wonder. Already questioning his place in this reality.
"So, he's always been like that then?" Eto asked, and her lips moved up into a little smile. "Ho? Very interesting."
"Mighty impressive." Esdeath commended with a smirk of approval.
"… He never got to be a regular kid either." Raven mumbled to herself, Itachi much like herself had their childhood stolen from them.
The young Itachi is seen walking towards a pale skinned looking man with long dark hair. He was scoffing at the speech given by an elderly man honoring the dead, calling it pointless. Until the young Itachi approached him and asked. "What is the meaning of life?"
Without any hesitation, the man said without any hint of remorse or care. "There is none. There is only meaning in life if it is eternal."
'Orochimaru… one of the Three Legendary Sannin… If he says so, it must be correct, no?' Itachi thought, having sought out this Orochimaru who seemed quite knowledgeable of the Shinobi world and its inner workings. Thus, as a curious child, Itachi had sought to ask the legendary Shinobi a question.
"Heh, yeah right… We got people here practically with eternal lives. None of them know the meaning of life either." Eto scoffed with a snarky remark directed at the older members of the audience.
"Well, you aren't wrong." Azazel didn't deny her claim either.
"There is meaning in life! My meaning is to shower my siblings with love! And sparkle like a magical girl being a beacon of hope!" Serafall enthusiastically declared, and seemed eager to blast this Orochimaru guy away. But as she directed her staff at the snake, it was lowered by Sirzechs.
"Serafall. This is but a memory. I understand, believe you me. But as much as we want to erase this guy, we just can't." Sirzechs like Serafall and many others present seemed all so eager to erase Orochimaru for carelessly having told a child life held no meaning.
As a result of the snake's words, Itachi was now standing on the edge of a very tall cliff leading down to a small river. 'There is no meaning… in life.' And with that, everyone let out audible gasps as the young Itachi threw himself off the edge. 'If there is no meaning? Why not just die?' The young Itachi thought as he was free falling with his eyes closed.
Knowing it to be a pointless endeavor, Rias, Akeno, Sona, Kuroka, Raven, Koneko, Issei, Kiba, Bob, Damian, Jack, Harry, Serafall, Serena and Malphas all collectively jumped after and flew down after the boy hoping to catch him, as if they could change history. But before Itachi was close to hitting the ground, the shriek of a crow woke him up. Itachi pulled out two kunai knifes, and stabbed them into the side of the mountain, as he was dragged downwards. Doing his best, Itachi was eventually able to slow down his fall, and land safely at the bottom. Where he was met with a small young crow.
Itachi with a curious gaze looked upon the crow. "I guess no one wants to die…" The shriek of the crow, had sounded like a call begging Itachi not to end his life. And it had been enough to spark the will to live within the young boy. The crow flew off from the ground, and suddenly a murder of crows circled around the young Itachi. "You guys…" Itachi looked astonished at how it seems the birds had attached themselves to him. One crow flew down and landed onto Itachi's right forearm. The young Itachi looked with a smile, feeling a moment of childlike awe and joy at his animal companion.
Itachi at this point might not know the meaning of his life, but that wouldn't last long. One day, young Itachi accompanied his mother Mikoto Uchiha to the doctor. "What's wrong mother? Are you sick?" Sounding a bit concerned for his mother's health, seeing the young boy despite everything he had been through, show such sweet affection for his mother. Warmed the hearts of the mothers currently watching.
Serena sniffled a bit, at this scene. "He always was such a sweet boy."
"I agree, he was such a cute and sweet boy when he would play with Rias." Venelana joined her friend in wiping away their tears with napkins. Grayfia even with her stoic face, had her eyes look in awe and a slight red face as she imagined how her own son would react in such a situation.
"Oh no, it's nothing like that. Itachi… soon you are going to be a big brother." Mikoto smiled as she embraced her son, holding his head to her belly.
"… Mother, I want a younger brother." Itachi mumbled.
"Ara, but a little sister would be cute, wouldn't it?" Mikoto asked knowing there was no guarantee, but young Itachi seemed determined.
"I have a feeling it is going to be a little brother." Young Itachi mumbled, and it was like one could hear Sona's heart shatter.
Sona looking with an angry pouty face. "Sorry for not being a boy…" Sona huffed.
"Aww, So-tan don't be like that. You are so cute~" Serafall hugged her younger sister. "Onee-chan knows It-tan thinks so too!"
"I still better get an explanation!" Sona grinded her teeth, really hurt by this fact.
'A little brother would be for the best. I can teach him, how the Shinobi world works. And make sure he is ready to… And girls are weird anyway.' Young Itachi thought, clearly showing a childlike mindset that had the spectating audience of this memory sweat drop.
"Well… kids will be kids I guess." Malphas awkwardly chuckled, while the women of the group sighed. Some thankful Itachi at least seemed to have had some basic childlike tendencies in the past.
The scene forwarded itself to nine months later, as the newborn baby was born. Itachi stood by the bedside of his mother along with his father, as they watched the newborn crying baby in her arms. "Itachi, here is your brand-new baby brother…" Mikoto introduced the two, and instantly young Itachi's eyes lit up with wonder.
'A new life… A new life…' Young Itachi thought, as he reached his hand out, and lightly poked his baby brother's chubby cheeks. Seeing such a wholesome scene, made hearts melt, as a collective set of "Awws" went around.
The father picked up his new son, and held him in his arms. "Have you thought of a name?" Mikoto asked Fugaku.
"Yeah, Sasuke. Uchiha Sasuke." At hearing this name, many looked on with widened eyes as they recalled the name Sasuke, was the name Itachi quote on quote wished for his future son. It was at this moment, they all realized how crucial of a role Sasuke would play in Itachi's life. And knowing how Itachi became known as a clan killer, they all began fearing for their future.
For a while, times were peaceful in the Uchiha household. With the occasional complaints of Fugaku Uchiha in regards to some disrespect the villagers show for the police force. The Uchiha being the police force, controlling and upholding them law made them easy targets for being disliked by the public at times. But it never got too extreme.
Watching the peaceful times Itachi spent taking care of baby Sasuke, who seemed glued to his older brother every chance he got. Rias was the only one looking a bit distraught, especially as nighttime fell. "Something… feels wrong." Rias tenses up as she feels something in the air.
"What do you mean dear?" Venelana asks her daughter, as no one else felt anything out of the ordinary at this very moment. Everything was rather calm.
"I… I don't know, but for some reason… I-I think a monster is about to attack the village…" Rias mumbles and people look at her with raised eyebrows of confusion, those that heard her anyway.
"What do you mean, Rias?" Akeno who stood next to her master, was starting to notice something was off. Rias looked like she was having a slight panic attack.
"I-I… don't know. I just feel really uneasy all of a sudden." Rias practically was trembling.
That uneasy feeling suddenly became all too real. As young Itachi was sitting outside in the backyard holding baby Sasuke. "Why did mom and dad have to be out so late?" Itachi asks himself, as suddenly little Sasuke starts acting fussy and begins to cry as expected of a baby. "Yosh, yosh, don't you cry Sasuke. No matter what happens, your big brother will definitely protect you." Little Itachi calmly soothed his younger brother, determined to protect him from the harsh world he himself had seen at a young age.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew through the air, and everyone felt it. They all tensed up, even a young Itachi could sense something was wrong. "Something is coming." Sirzechs noted, his eyes intently staring towards a crowded area over the fence surrounding Itachi's house.
Suddenly a large puff of smoke exploded in the villages center, and large powerful gusts of wind blew all around the village. Tearing down entire buildings, as large orange furred tails smacked into various apartment buildings and tearing them down with ease. Animalistic growls came from the smoke, as large red glowing eyes and a massive shadowy figure with nine tails emerged out from the smoke.
"Yasaka…?" Serafall blinked for a moment, when suddenly a large orange furred Kyuubi emerged roaring to the heavens and the full moon. Suddenly, panic ensued as people outside could be heard screaming. "K-Kyuubi!" People began running around in panic, fully grown adults practically tramping and walking over each other to escape the Kyuubi.
But a young child like Itachi remained calm, shielding his younger brother from some debris. Jumping out from their house and into the backyard, as one of the nine tails smacked into their house. Itachi shielded his crying brother, and with a calm tone of voice he soothed his brother. "It's okay… that scared you, huh?" Itachi picked up his younger brother, and quickly leapt to the nearest tree, and then into the streets.
"What's going on?! Why did a Kyuubi just suddenly appear?! Is this the Shinobi world's version of lady Yasaka?" Issei asked, the surrounding panic actually getting to him. It was like they were seeing through Itachi's eyes, seeing people get squashed underneath rubble. Puddles of blood seeping through the collapsed buildings.
Young Itachi jumped by a destroyed apartment complex, seeing what looked like a bloodied baby's crib in the destroyed rubble. Winching a bit, Itachi continued, further surprising everyone how a young six-year-old, was this calm and numb to the surrounding chaos. When people four, five, six even seven times his age, were running away in fear.
Esdeath huffed and smiled with pride, seeing grown adults running away in fear, while a mere child fearlessly ran through the chaos, she only thought one thing. 'So strong… A true survivor. You would be proud seeing this, Behemoth.'
"He is just so… numb to all of this." Serena as Itachi's mother on the other hand, felt concerned for her son. This was not how a normal child should act, it was commendable sure. By now she knew, her son was beyond normal. Seeing him run by dead squashed bodies, although they felt that Itachi was disturbed by this sight, he was only concerned about one thing at the moment, to protect Sasuke.
"… He will save someone, that's just who he is." Rias mumbled, as before Itachi even made a turn over the corner, she had predicted it. A little girl carrying the Uchiha crest on her back, was crying out for her father and mother. The girl had brown hair tied into a ponytail, and the sound of her crying caught Itachi's attention.
'She is an Uchiha like me… she can't go that way, the Kyuubi is right around the corner. She will die…' The young Itachi thought about it for a mere single second, then he quickly rushed towards the crying girl. "Come this way!" Itachi called out to her. The sobbing girl turned towards Itachi who had his hand reached out to her.
"Itachi-kun?" The girl sobbed.
"Hurry!" Itachi snapped her out of it, and she ran towards him as the building next to her began to collapse. Itachi grabbed ahold of her wrist, and yanked her out of the way from the collapsing debris. Itachi held onto his crying brother, and also the young Uchiha girl. "Let's head to the shelter." Itachi could feel she was shaking like a leaf, obviously terrified, she didn't let go of Itachi's shirt.
"She… looks familiar." Kuroka couldn't quite pinpoint it, but she felt like she had seen the girl somewhere before.
"Izumi… Uchiha." Rias mumbled catching Kuroka's attention.
"Ah, that's right! We saw a monument of her in Itachi's mind. I hardly even recognized her." Kuroka also recalled that this Izumi was supposedly Itachi's first love, from what little Itachi told of her. "Mm, she looks cute… but not worthy of the captain." Kuroka gave a slight jealous pout at seeing how closely Itachi held onto her.
Rias on the other hand, looked with wonder. It was really bugging her now, why did all this scenery feel so familiar to her? Looking at the young Itachi and Izumi walking together with the crying baby Sasuke, Rias felt a sense of happiness? She didn't know why, but seeing this scene felt really nostalgic to her. Was it because Itachi had once saved her and Sona from that demonic wolf when they were kids?
"Itachi! Sasuke!" Itachi's mother Mikoto suddenly came running towards them, she embraced the three children with a sigh of relief. Even though Izumi wasn't her own, she was standing so closely to Itachi she just got caught up in the embrace. "Are you kids alright?"
"Mm, we're fine. I was about to take Sasuke and Izumi here to the shelter." Itachi calmly replied to his mother, who looked proud at her responsible reliable oldest son.
"You are such a good boy, Itachi." Mikoto gave light strokes to her son's head, she picked Sasuke up from Itachi's arms and into her own. "How are you doing honey?" Mikoto looked to the sobbing Izumi, acting gently towards the young girl.
"I'm scared… I can't find mother and father." Izumi sniffled.
"I'm sure they are fine. Let's see if we meet them on the way to the shelter, yeah?" Mikoto led the children through the village, as the Kyuubi continued its rampage. Out of the corner of his eye, Itachi saw a giant boulder falling down towards them.
'Sasuke, mother and Izumi will be crushed if that hits them.' Itachi ran past his Jonin mother, and rushed straight for the falling boulder.
"Itachi!" Mikoto called out for her son, trying to tell him to get out of the way. But before she could even finish scolding her son. Itachi cloaked his fist with chakra, and punched the giant boulder, breaking it apart. Mikoto stood there awestruck at seeing her son act without hesitation. And having such good chakra control that he was able to destroy the boulder with ease.
"Mother, we must hurry." Itachi advised, snapping his mother out of her daze, they made their way towards the shelter behind the engraved mountain faces of the Hokage.
Sitting there in the dark with his mother, a crying baby Sasuke, and a sobbing Izumi who held onto his shirt. Itachi looked with calm eyes, waiting for the crises to be over, and preparing to make a run for it should the Kyuubi manage to break through the barrier.
"Heh, well… I must say it is kind of nice. Seeing that he has always been this way." Azazel smirked, while analyzing the barrier surrounding the mountain face. "Ho? Utilizing chakra, they seem to have formed a simple enough barrier. Honestly, even I would have an annoying time breaking through this. And that Kyuubi out there, from what I can tell, it is stronger than Yasaka. Maybe even on the same level as a Dragon King."
"Fascinating." Ajuka like Azazel was inspecting the formula for this barrier. "It's not only for keeping danger out… but it also detects if any unknowns enter the villages boarders. Easy enough to copy for me." Ajuka made some quick notes.
After a long silence, finally someone entered the shelter to announce that the Kyuubi had been sealed. However, in return the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze, had also given his life to seal the Kyuubi.
After that, a funeral ceremony was held for those that died during the attack of the Kyuubi. And at the center of this funeral, laid a young blond-haired newborn in a basket. Who every adult looked at with scorn. The vessel of the Kyuubi, Naruto Uzumaki.
After the funeral, Itachi was with his mother at a maternity ward in the hospital. "What do you mean? Why can I not see the child?" Mikoto questioned the doctor.
"Ma'am, you are not the child's mother. He is in the custody of the village itself." The doctor calmly addressed Mikoto, but his eyes looked with disdain.
"What's with that look…? I just want to take care of my deceased best friend's child… Why are you looking at me like that?" Mikoto glared accusingly at the doctor. And Itachi at the time, was rather conscious of the situation despite his age.
'Because we are Uchiha… and have a history of being able to tame the Kyuubi with our Sharingan. The village doesn't want to entrust the new Kyuubi vessel, to us…' Itachi understood at this very moment, that some villagers were accusing them of launching the Kyuubi attack. Which was ridiculous Itachi thought at this very moment, the Uchiha were a part of the village as well. Why would Shinobi strive to destroy their own home? When they fight and die in war to protect it. The safety of the village comes first for any Shinobi, that is just how it is, how it should be.
"Hmm, from a political stand point… The village is right in their decision not to give this Naruto to the Uchiha. After all, bottom line is that they view him as a weapon of destruction. It would make sense that the government of the village itself, would want to keep it contained on their own terms. But then again, they are also wrong for blindly accusing the Uchiha without any evidence other than history." Ajuka analyzed the situation, his advanced intellect and mindset allowed him to see things from an unbiased stand point. He saw the sides of both the village and the Uchiha. "As always, politicians continue making selfish wrong decisions."
"What will happen to the child then? Who will raise him?" Grayfia as a mother herself, felt the need to ask such a question. Had she and Sirzechs died, and Millicas would have ended up in such a situation, she would have wanted her son to be given the best of care.
On their way home, Itachi could tell his mother Mikoto was in a bad mood. Whilst he looked after Sasuke in their temporary home until a new one could be built. Itachi could hear his mother rant about today with his father. As time moved on, the Uchiha were eventually relocated to the outskirts of the village, along with the HQ of the Police Force. Which made no sense, if the police were on the far outskirts of the village, they wouldn't be able to help people fast enough. Logically they should be at the center. Fugaku Uchiha as the chief of the Police Force, was deeply upset about this.
Now that Itachi was six years old, he was enrolled into the ninja academy. There Itachi would quickly make a lasting impression on his teachers and fellow students. Scoring the highest out of anyone in every subject, and always coming in first place in various training exercises. And as for his social standing, well the girls of his class were quick to fawn over him and his talents.
"Kya! It's Itachi! Look he is walking! Itachi-kun is walking!" The girls squealed from watching Itachi from a window, whilst the boys of his class were annoyed.
"… Just from you walking, seriously?" Issei's brow twitched as he stared at the 6-year-old Itachi walk away from his female fans.
"Even I think that is too much… Well, they are kids so…" Koneko sweat dropped at this situation herself, finding it unbelievable.
"Aww, look at cap'n as a kid. He is so cute~" Kuroka on the other hand fawned over the young Itachi as much as the girls of his class did.
"He was such a cute little boy, and seeing how he was in his previous life. It moves a mother's heart knowing her precious baby has always been well mannered." Serena sniffled with pride in her son, and enjoyed seeing her son as a little boy again. Even though she was worried and troubled by what would happen.
"I am so envious of you Serena. I remember Itachi-kun when he would come over to play with Rias when they were younger. He was such a tiny and polite little gentleman. Almost made my heart skip a beat." Venelana's words, felt like jabs at her own children who were no doubt rowdy in their younger days.
"You can be so cruel, mother…" Sirzechs cried.
"Mom you are embarrassing me…" Rias on the other hand groaned.
Before anyone knew it, whilst Itachi was walking down the hallway. A group of boys from his class, scurry off and come hiding behind him. Itachi looks baffled, although seems to understand their fear as he sees a big older kid looking as angry as a bull come running up to them. "Who are you?! Their comrade?!"
"Bullies huh… so even Itachi-senpai experienced it." Issei mumbled, having some flashbacks of his early elementary school days as well. In a way, he was kind of pleased to see even a pretty boy like Itachi had such casual issues like he himself did.
The young Itachi doesn't say a word, and merely holds his hand up sideways, whilst holding his middle finger and index finger up in the form a seal. This was how Shinobi challenged each other to a sparring match. This however, seemed to make the bully angrier. "All the freshmen this year…! Are too arrogant!" The kid throws his fist that is the size of Itachi's face. However, even though he is smaller, the young Itachi is quicker. He grabs the bully, by his wrist and whilst holding on turns around, and throws the big bully over his shoulder and to the floor. "Argh!" The bully wheezed out a pained cry, his wrist strained and back aching.
"Someone, take him to the nurses office…" Itachi looked around, but instead of heeding his words. Everyone looked at him with awe. The young Itachi looked a bit awkward. He hated being the center of attention.
"Itachi-san! You are really strong!" The boys who had once envied Itachi with jealousy, now looked at him with admiration and comradery.
"San?" Itachi questioned the sudden honorific from a classmate he knew openly despised him previously.
"Itachi-sama is invincible!"
"Sama?" Itachi visibly cringed. And to his horror, the boys walked with him through the hallway while shouting for everyone to make way for the great Itachi-sama. 'Please make it stop…' Itachi cringed, as with their shouting they only attracted unwanted attention.
"Social acceptance is a bitch, huh?" Eto giggled at listening to the young Itachi's inner monologue.
"Issei-san, are you okay?" Asia tended to Issei who was now sulking in the corner.
"For a moment there I thought I could relate to Itachi-senpai… but even as a tiny ass kid he was badass… life is unfair." Issei sulked in depression.
"Well, Itachi has just always been this way. So cool." Rias swooned a bit, really captivated at seeing a young version of Itachi again. "So tiny… so cute…"
"I get you Rias-chan." Serafall and Serena seemed to nod in agreement.
It didn't take long for the bully to return with his comrades however, ganging up on Itachi. "You arrogant brat! Just because you are from the Uchiha clan you think you can look down on the rest of us?! We're your senpai's here!"
"… Well, I never really looked down on you." Itachi scratched his cheek in a bit of confusion. Itachi treated this bully like he did any opponent, going all out and not holding back as a showing of respect. Even though now, Itachi felt these senior students didn't deserve his respect. But what was to be done? They were still children after all. Even though they were older, they had not experienced war like he had. Knowing that every waking moment of one's life, is a battlefield. Hence why Itachi never lets his guard down, hence why he never holds back.
"Bullshit! You and your clan with their Sharingan! You all think you are better than the rest of us!" The bullies accused, having him surrounded and cornered.
Itachi remained silent. He couldn't speak for the rest of the clan. Even more so, he had yet to awaken his Sharingan even. Something he was very eager to awaken to progress his power into becoming a powerful Shinobi. "Hey you bully! Leave him alone!" The young girl Itachi had saved during the Kyuubi incident, Izumi Uchiha confronted the older bullies.
'… Her name was, Izumi I believe.' Itachi thought to himself, he didn't think much of the girl. To him, she was just like all the others flocking to him, something that stressed him out quite a bit.
"Who's this? Your girlfriend? Beat it!" The bully shoved her by the shoulder, his larger size and muscle mass made it easy for him to push Izumi to the floor.
"Oh, they've done it now. Itachi is about to beat their asses, and then she will fall for him. A typical love story…" Kuroka sighed at how basic the very premise was. But to everyone's surprise, Itachi didn't even react.
"Huh? Eh, he isn't doing anything… he doesn't appear to be particular angry either." Kiba pointed out, having kind of expected Itachi to do something at this very moment.
"I feel him… crowds like this are scary." Gasper hid in the corner of the hallway, even if all this was just memories for him to witness, he still disliked crowds.
'She is rather weak… Reckless… acting on her emotions like this on the battlefield would get her killed.' Is all the young Itachi could think of in this situation, he didn't even care that Izumi was shoved. Such was just the way of the world.
"He doesn't do anything… because he doesn't need to." Rias mumbled looking at this scene with a strange sense of familiarity. What was this sensation?
"Mm! You are just jealous of Itachi-kun and his talents. Ganging up on him like cowards!" Izumi was even trying to defend Itachi and berated the bullies for trying to gang up on him. Itachi for a moment looked to Izumi, still with a lack of interest. "People like Itachi… inspires others to become stronger and better Shinobi… like he inspired me! Losers like you, aren't even deserving of the title of Shinobi!" Izumi wept, as suddenly her eyes turned red and into the one tomoe patterned Sharingan.
At this, Itachi's brows were raised in interest looking at Izumi now in awe. 'She has the Sharingan…?' Itachi was baffled, they were the same age yet Izumi had the Sharingan.
"Whoa! Those eyes! The Sharingan! Run for it!" The sight of her eyes, had the bullies run away in fear. The reputation of the Uchiha clan and their famed Sharingan seemed to run deep.
Itachi and Izumi stood there for a moment, Itachi still in awe. Then he noticed Izumi getting a bit wobbly in her step. Her eyes returning to normal as she looked like she was about to collapse. Itachi jolted to her side, and held her up. "Can you stand?" Itachi asked.
"Mm, thank you…" Izumi mumbled. Despite insisting she was fine, Itachi continued to support her all the way to the nurse's office.
"Damn, what changed?" Issei questioned as suddenly Itachi showed care for Izumi.
"The Sharingan… Itachi at this point doesn't have it, so seeing that this girl who he thought was ordinary before, possess those eyes. It made Itachi view her to be stronger than he previously believed. And also, more interested in getting to know her. And I am guessing he wants to learn how she awakened it, so that he can as well." Eto analyzed the situation, and hit the nail on the head. The reason Itachi's attitude towards Izumi changed, was the fact that he learnt she had the Sharingan.
"Kinda shitty though, no?" Issei mumbled as it seemed like a selfish reason to show interest in someone.
"Yes… it is." Rias had a sad smile at the situation, but looked understanding. Knowing where Itachi came from, and more importantly knowing already the basic workings of the Shinobi world from what they have seen.
"This is just how the Shinobi world works I suppose… People wanting power. Like any other place, power grants you respect and opens a lot of doors for you in the future. But here, power also becomes essential for one's livelihood and survival. That is how Itachi currently views the world at this moment, a battlefield." Azazel perfectly summarized the state of the Shinobi world at this time. Fresh off a war, the villages were seeking new talents to add to their forces.
"Your Sharingan… when did you awaken it?" Itachi casually asked Izumi as he helped her sit.
"The Kyuubi incident… my… dad died during the battle to protect the village." Izumi revealed with a saddened look on her face. Although Itachi didn't seem to know how to respond to her sadness.
"I see, then he was a splendid Shinobi, your father." Itachi complimented Izumi's deceased father. After all, to Itachi there was nothing greater a Shinobi could do then protect one's village.
Izumi looked visibly baffled, but then she grew a smile of joy. "Thank you, Itachi-kun… I will work hard to become strong like you. And become a proud Shinobi like my father." Unknowingly, Itachi had greatly encouraged Izumi on this day, and made her love for him grow even more.
The young Itachi as well, had his tiny heart skip a beat. Smiling warmly at Izumi, he admired her resolve to grow strong. The drive she had to improve herself, fitted well with his own drive to become stronger. Itachi and Izumi ended up talking until the nurse arrived, chatting and laughing as Itachi could honestly say he had made a genuine friend at the academy.
"Damn… he saved himself from some comments I was going to throw his way." Issei smiled, impressed with how Itachi instead of bonding over a scummy way to just achieve great power. They instead bonded over what it meant to be a Shinobi.
"Heh, Itachi will always be Itachi…" Rias smiled, as she expected things to go this way. Itachi always was a socially cute awkward kid growing up, so socializing wasn't his strongest point. Unless it was under special circumstances like this.
"You know, seeing Itachi and Izumi interacting like this. Reminds me of how you two would interact as kids." Venelana giggled at her daughter, finding the situation nostalgic and taking her back to when her daughter was an energetic little kid playing around with a calm level headed Itachi. Rias didn't scold her mother for embarrassing her with childhood memories, instead she was too caught up in the moment and smiled brightly at seeing Itachi and Izumi's innocent interaction. It was moments like this, and moments with baby Sasuke that allowed Itachi to experience childlike innocence in his life.
These blissful times didn't last long, as after 4 mere months since entering the academy. Itachi's teachers and instructors agreed that Itachi should be allowed to graduate the academy and become a genin. Especially after they saw he had already mastered the Shadow Clone Jutsu. The final exam that senior students usually would take for their graduation test. Itachi would end up graduating the academy, and become a genin, leaving Izumi and the academy behind.
"As expected of my son. You are a true prodigy." Itachi's father complimented him on the day of graduation. Both his parents were ecstatic to see their boy graduate.
Upon the day of his graduation, Itachi was approached by an elderly man with a crossed scar on his chin. Dressed in robes, and with half his face covered in bandages. One of the Lead elders, and the leader of the Foundation, Danzo.
Danzo had taken a great interest in Itachi and his talents, and decided to put the child to a small test by asking a simple question. "You are on a mission, far out at sea on a ship. One of the crew catches a very contagious sickness that will kill him if untreated. It is possibly to treat him once you reach land, but that is days away. What do you do?"
And to this question, a mere six-year-old Itachi answers without hesitation. "I would kill him, and throw his body overboard. If I let him live, the sickness would spread to myself and the rest of the crew. And our mission would have been compromised." Itachi's answer, had Danzo crack a smile seemingly satisfied with the answer.
"Good answer, as a Shinobi. You must be capable of making the harshest of decisions to survive, and most of all, for the village to survive." Itachi nodded at Danzo's words, as he understood Danzo's ideals. Danzo believed that the true life of a Shinobi lies in the shadows, that one cannot dream and wish for things to become better, that a Shinobi must sacrifice everything for the sake of one's village. And that is how peace is sustained.
Danzo's idealism was one Itachi actually agreed with, sharing the old man's views on the meaning of being a Shinobi. But Itachi more than anything, held the ideals of the famous Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage high. Having studied various writings of the infamous Hokage and other Shinobi, Itachi shared the views of Hashirama. On wanting to protect one's village, meant to also protect the people one held dear. And that a Shinobi, must sacrifice that which threatened one's village. Even if that be one's own friend, one's own family. The stability of the village always came first.
Itachi did indeed believe that Danzo's ideals and views of the Shinobi world were correct in a sense. And he did believe Danzo had the best interest of the village at heart. But Itachi believed that Danzo himself was a bit of a hypocrite who didn't truly follow his own ideals. And instead had others sacrifice themselves whilst he remained untouched. Itachi could see, Danzo used all his ideals for his deepest desire of becoming Hokage. That, is what Itachi would grow up to learn and understand of the elder. But as a six-year-old, he understood and agreed with the man's philosophy and found it interesting. But even though a child, someone who should be easily influenced, Itachi also kept his mind open for other ideals to make his own philosophy on the Shinobi world. One might say even though a child, he thought like a wise old man, or even a Hokage.
"That Danzo… he seems like quite the strict follower of the Shinobi code of conduct." Ajuka hummed, finding the philosophy lesson to be quite interesting. Where many were a bit disturbed a six-year-old Itachi shared these ideals. People like Esdeath and Eto actually agreed with this world view, and even openly praised Itachi for his advanced mindset.
"My, Itachi really gets how things work. Good for him~" Eto clapped her hands in encouragement of the young Itachi's development.
"The instinct of a true warrior. This almost brings a tear to my eye." Esdeath as well sung Itachi's praises at this moment.
"Itachi-san… has always been this extreme, huh?" Asia and the others that were light of heart however, were disturbed.
"Man, glad I grew up in a world where I could admire oppai instead of this." Issei shivered, suddenly thankful for not having lived to grow up to be like Itachi. Even though he was still jealous of Itachi's looks and luck with the ladies.
"Reminds me of the early war days…" Sirzechs mumbled, as he actually fully related to Itachi. Sirzechs, even though centuries old also grew up in a state of war, and fought in the war at an early age.
"Yeah…" Serafall as well sighed at how dire this Shinobi world was, as they had experienced a similar world in the past.
Itachi ended up being quite the exceptional Shinobi. As on his four-man squad, Itachi's skills were beyond exceptional. Leaving even his Jonin instructor at times in the dust. Much to the envy of his Jonin sensei.
Then, when Itachi was 8 years old, came that fateful day. His team had been assigned a mission to escort a feudal lord. Itachi's team encountered a masked man, who had easily placed everyone but Itachi and his teammate Tenma in a genjutsu. As their individual clans, had training to resist basic genjutsu. Something even their Jonin teacher failed at.
For once, Itachi was frozen on the spot. He could sense the gap between his and this masked man's skillset and power. Tenma seeing his teammate frozen, decided he had to be the one to protect his comrades. Itachi stood there frozen in terror as Tenma charged at the masked man. Only for Tenma's body to phase right through the masked man's. Tenma's entire kunai knife aimed at the masked man's head, and body slipped right through him. And the masked man instantly cut Tenma down with a swift swing of his blade.
Itachi could only watch in horror. Even though he and Tenma had problems in the past, over the years they had developed a bond of friendship. Itachi watched his friend get cut down, the sickening sound of the masked man's blade cutting through Tenma's flesh and bone echoed in Itachi's ears. Tenma met a quick instant end, his severed body collapsing before the masked man.
"Tenma…" Itachi mumbled, not focusing on the approaching masked man. His eyes fixated on the lifeless corpse of his friend. Itachi's watery eyes turned red, with two tomoe patterns forming. He had awakened the Sharingan.
"Ho? Sharingan eh?" The masked man's voice was deep and chilling. Itachi's body jolted as he stared up at the masked man standing before him. "Why would you risk your life for your village? Just back down and you will live."
"… That ability, it was like he transported his body into a different dimension." Ajuka mumbled as he analyzed the masked man with great curiosity.
"A difficult ability certainly." Sirzechs agreed, glaring at the image of this masked man. Like most, angered at how easily he took a child's life.
"… Judging by this pressure Itachi feels from him. I would say he is at least Satan level. Stronger than Shalba Beelzebub anyway. But certainly, weaker than Loki. Itachi currently would have been able to beat this masked man. Even with that tricky phasing through ability." Ajuka analyzed. Whilst the experienced fighters and leaders analyzed the abilities of this masked man. Many like the young Itachi in this memory, were horrified at the ruthlessness of this man.
"I…" Itachi eyed Tenma's corpse one more time, steeling his determination and holding his kunai up. "I am a Shinobi of Konoha. I will not back down." The young Uchiha declared despite his trembling body.
"How unfortunate, you are brave I will give you that." The masked man raised his blade at Itachi, but before he could even bring it down, he froze. "This presence… Hatake Kakashi." The man then suddenly vanished in a swirl coming from the one eye hole on his mask. And so, many gasped with relief from seeing the young Itachi coming out of the situation unharmed.
Itachi however, silently walked towards the corpse of Tenma. Standing there frozen as he watched Tenma's red blood seep through the soil of the earth. Tears rolled down Itachi's face, his Sharingan burning the image of his cut open friend into his mind. Itachi remained unmoving, even as the ANBU arrived with a silver haired masked man in the lead. "What happened here?" The man asked as his team quickly tended to those under the Genjutsu, snapping them out of it.
The silver haired man walked towards Itachi standing over the corpse of Tenma. "What happened?" The man put a gentle warm hand on Itachi's shoulder. Itachi shut down his emotions, and briefed the ANBU on what had happened. That they were ambushed by rogue Shinobi, who tried to assassinate the feudal lord, and that Tenma died fighting him. Like a proper Shinobi, he died for the feudal lord of their land, he died for their village.
After the incident, Itachi's team was left with two members. Itachi himself and his Jonin sensei. His other teammate, Shinko was so affected by Tenma's death she realized she wasn't cut out to be a Shinobi, and retired.
"The price for power… huh?" Azazel quietly mumbled. This was a situation he was sadly all too familiar with, as were many of the more experienced fighters. In war, they saw a lot of their comrades die before their very eyes.
It took days before Itachi had fully recovered. He would spend his days off playing with his brother Sasuke, innocent Sasuke who had yet to experience the harsh reality of the Shinobi world. Itachi held tightly onto his brother, not wanting this piece of light to vanish. Wanting Sasuke to stay innocent like this forever, even though he knew that to be a mere fantasy. It was truly what Itachi wished for Sasuke in the future.
On his way to train with his best friend Shisui, Itachi walked by his father. "You leaving?" Fugaku briefly stopped Itachi.
"Yes sir." Itachi quickly responded.
"I see… You were only 8 when you awakened your Sharingan. So, I assume the village wants to observe your abilities. This just shows how much power, and influence the Sharingan holds. I want you to be aware of that." Fugaku said, unaware that Itachi was silently clenching his fists in anger. "It brings joy to the clan when one of our own excels. Of course, on a personal level, I am very proud of you too." Despite his father's praise, Itachi was only brought back to the day of Tenma's death when hearing it.
'He died… father.' Itachi silently thought.
"But make sure that you don't rest on your laurels just because you have the Sharingan now. In order to sharpen the power in your eyes, you must remain diligent." Fugaku then turned away from feeding his fish, to look at his son. Some of those watching hoping he would notice the distress Itachi felt in his heart at this very moment, and stop it with the praise and comfort his son. "Well, I don't need to lecture you. You are my son after all." Fugaku failed to see past his pride for his son, to notice the inner turmoil in Itachi at this very moment.
Feeling a bit of resentment towards his father, as all Itachi could think was. 'Father… my friend died. His death gave me these eyes, and you are proud for it? Is that all you care about?' Itachi swallowed down his feelings, and smiled at his father. "Yes father. I will continue to remain diligent." Itachi's fake smile seem to work, as Fugaku proudly nodded.
"Good."
"I'll be on my way now…" Itachi turned his back to his father, grinding his teeth as he fought to hold his feelings back. A Shinobi, must never reveal their feelings to another.
Malphas looked with a frowning face at Fugaku. "I'm a way better dad than you." Malphas pointed out, as he would have understood his child would need the chance to properly grieve instead of being encouraged.
As Itachi was about to leave, a young Sasuke came running up behind him. "Nii-san! You said you would play with me today, remember?"
Itachi warmly smiled at his enthusiastic younger brother, and turned around to face him. "I did, didn't I?" For a moment the child's face brightened up with a smile, but was quickly shut down. "But I to go on a mission now. Forgive me Sasuke. Some other time, okay?" Itachi poked his disappointed younger brother's forehead.
"Sorry, Sasuke… I'm going to borrow your brother for a little bit." A young dark curly haired boy stood at the door, and Uchiha just like Itachi. Uchiha Shisui, Itachi's best friend and one of his mentors. Young Sasuke however, angrily pouted at Shisui for taking his older brother away on a mission.
Itachi and Shisui headed for the forest of death, whilst in the forest and alone Shisui took a moment to ask. "Why did you lie to Sasuke? You saw that look. He resents me now."
"I know that was wrong of me… But Sasuke is a smart kid… I think he'll understand." Itachi said as he reached into a tree to grab a hidden scroll.
Watching this, Sona in particular was caught off guard. "… He, never blew me off like that. He always played with me when we were younger."
"Well, he was probably a lot less stressed than when he was here…" Serena patted her daughter on the shoulder. Although she sort of understood, that Itachi always probably played with Sona when they were younger to avoid the same mistakes he did with Sasuke.
"First have one genin accompany you, and secure the scroll in question." Shisui retold the nature of this mission as Itachi handed him the scroll. "Even if my training exercise required a genin, it really didn't have to be you." Shisui seemed to playfully be teasing Itachi, who seemed a bit upset at the comment.
"Don't say that now! Even if it's not a real mission, none other than Shisui the Jonin requested me. I'm not lying when I say this is a mission, right?" Young Itachi really seemed to try and justify blowing off Sasuke to go and train with Shisui.
"Well, you are half right. Let's go." Itachi seemed a bit confused at the meaning behind those words, but followed Shisui none the less as they jumped through the forest.
"What are the details of this training exercise?" Itachi asked.
"There are three parts." Shisui went on to explain they were looking for traces of a "fugitive" and track him. They searched the forest for traces of this fugitive, and were quick to find some tracks. Watching the two interact, one could tell Itachi held a lot of respect for Shisui and his opinion and for his approval. In some ways for Serafall and Esdeath, it reminded them of how Itachi saw Behemoth. Shisui continued to share his knowledge of tracking with Itachi.
When they reached the end of the tracks, Shisui decided for them to take a break and start on the second part of the exercise. To camp out a night alone. Itachi and Shisui sat by a fire grilling some fish. "The textbook says campfires are prohibited." The young Itachi pointed out, campfires are just ways for the enemy to learn of your position and can compromise the entire mission. But knowing Shisui, Itachi doubted he would take such a risk. "Does this mean there is another reason behind it?" Itachi asked, wondering what the more experienced Shinobi could teach him.
"Well, just eat." Shisui smiled and handed Itachi a stick with the grilled fish. "You're exceptional, Itachi."
"I'm still inexperienced." Itachi argued, in his head thinking of Tenma's death. "If I had more skills earlier…"
Shisui mistaking it for Itachi's fails during tracking laughed. "Heh, that is true."
"Don't laugh!" Itachi harshly scolded.
"Sorry, sorry… It just makes me happy." Shisui seemed to relaxed and laid back, and his personality just clashed so well with Itachi's that one could understand why they were great friends.
"You know, this makes me understand how Itachi and Sairaorg are such good friends…" Rias giggled a bit, as it was rare for her to see Itachi this frustrated. It was sort of nice, seeing such blissful moments Itachi had in his childhood.
"Mm! I also already like this Shisui guy!" Sairaorg nodded in agreement, having seated himself by the campfire and blended in so well with the scenery he seemed like a part of the memory.
"Happy?" Itachi looked confused at Shisui's wording.
"Well, just listen… I thought there would be nothing I could teach you. But…" Shisui smiled warmly, as he had seen there was still much Itachi could learn from him.
"You taught me a lot today." Itachi pointed out.
"Yeah… and that's what made me happy." This truly for Serafall and Esdeath, reflected the relationship Behemoth had with Itachi. The old man was so happy whenever he could teach Itachi something new.
"So… about this campfire?" Itachi asked as this was still against textbook regulations.
"It's just nice to share a warm meal with someone you feel at ease with. Besides, enjoying a hot meal will help cheer you up." As expected of Shisui, he had been able to see that something had been bothering Itachi. Unlike his father Fugaku.
"…" Itachi smiled and took a bite of the fish. "Yeah… it is warm and tasty."
"Told you so!" Shisui chuckled, as the two sat there eating in peace.
'But if I am really exceptional… Tenma wouldn't have died.' Itachi still however, could not get rid of this guilt. If he could have maybe done something different, Tenma might still be alive. If only he had been stronger. "I… awakened the Sharingan." Itachi revealed to Shisui, who instantly seemed to understand.
"I see… So, is that why you lied?" At the question Itachi was a bit confused.
"Lied? You said that at the beginning of the exercise as well. But what do you mean really?"
Shisui smiled as it showed how little Itachi knew himself. "You're really good at fooling yourself. That's why you can't grasp your true feelings. You didn't want to stay at home, right? That's the look you had on your face." Shisui revealed, shocking Itachi that he had picked up on how Itachi had felt from the very beginning.
"That might be true…" Itachi mumbled.
"I'll be happy to listen if you ever want to talk about it." Shisui really was a good male role model for Itachi growing up. Just like Behemoth was.
The moment was cut short, as the sound of clanking blades resonated through the valley. Shisui put out the fire and they rushed to investigate. Discovering and ANBU Black Ops members being attacked by three pursuers. Itachi and Shisui intervened to assist the ANBU. Only to discover the three pursuers were ANBU themselves, or more specifically working for Danzo's foundation. The Root of the foundation, sought after the scroll the ANBU working for the Hokage had on him, which had information on a traitor. And they were willing to kill the ANBU, Itachi and Shisui to get the scroll for their master.
The Root wished to execute the traitor without any form of trial, while the Hokage wanted to investigate the reasoning for this betrayal careful and give the traitor a fair judgment. Itachi at this moment, kind of agreed with the Root members. Thinking that the life of one traitor was not worth putting the village at risk. Still, he looked to Shisui for his opinion.
"Nameless individuals who maintain peace from the shadows… I believe that is a true Shinobi." Shisui revealed.
"Then you share our ideals." The Root seemed to have reached an understanding with the two Uchiha. But Shisui quickly denied that.
"No, you're wrong! Order maintained through the power of the blade… is not peace!" Shisui activated his Sharingan. Inspired by Shisui's words, Itachi sided with Shisui and thus he and Itachi engaged the three members of the Foundation in combat.
Despite being 8 years old, Itachi really was exceptional as singlehandedly he defeated a member of the Root ANBU. And Shisui easily fended off the other two. Shisui teleporting so fast, he was leaving solid afterimages that might as well be clones of himself.
"Ho, he is fast for a human… Or rather, a Shinobi. Although I would say Itachi's speed has grown greater." Ajuka concluded, he was really into analyzing the ways Shinobi fight.
"They aren't even allowed to say one of their own villagers tried to kill them?!" Issei spoke out in outrage, as the ANBU Itachi and Shisui saved revealed he wanted them to forget what happened today.
"Looks like they are trying their best to avoid a civil war…" Kiba wasn't as hotheaded as Issei, but still outraged as well. But he still understood the situation.
"Hmm, if the villagers found out their own special forces were trying to kill each other. The turmoil within the village would leave them quite vulnerable to other nations." Harry as a veteran from World War 2 offered his own perspective on conflict. Even now, he understood that in the Shinobi world, the nations would jump at a chance to take over the other's land.
"Yeah, pretty much what happens in most worlds." Azazel had to agree, and so did Rossweisse.
"The same would happen if Asgard was weakened. The Jotnar wouldn't hesitate to invade." Rossweisse coming from a culture of warfare understood very well, as a battle maiden she was raised to understand war.
Itachi during the battle had sprained his ankle. "Sprained your ankle, huh?" Shisui tended to Itachi who seemed a bit embarrassed.
"You are making a big deal over nothing." At this, Rias, Akeno, Sona, Raven, Kuroka and Koneko collectively shook their heads. "Always trying to act so tough." They really wished Itachi would let them look after him whenever he is injured.
"He isn't acting, he is tough." Esdeath sideways glared at the girls.
The girls were about to reply to Esdeath's comment, but Shisui in the memory said it the best. "No matter how exceptional you are, Itachi… Don't overdo it." In the end, Shisui ended up piggybacking Itachi all the way back home.
At the sound of Shisui's amused giggles. And although Itachi couldn't hear the women watching this memory giggle as well. The slight annoyed Itachi replied with. "It's not funny!" Itachi pouted.
"Sorry. I'm just happy. You're really like a kid brother to me. So being able to take you under my wing like this makes me happy." At Shisui's words of affection, Itachi cracked a light smile. "I really want you to think of me as your big brother, and be able to depend on me for anything."
"… Shisui. About the ANBU. Did I do the right thing back there?" Itachi was a bit worried the ANBU might seek retribution and even though Shisui had insisted on it. Itachi still wasn't sure letting them get away with it was the right call.
"I won't say yes. I don't even know if there is such a thing as justice in the Shinobi world. We fight believing in our own justice. But if the enemy is doing the same. How are we to know who is right? You realized that during today's exercise, right? There's more than one side to an issue. You must be able to look on things from various viewpoints. I will tell you one thing that is for certain… I will never betray you. That is for certain." Shisui continued to carry Itachi back home, even as Itachi fell asleep on his back.
As time goes by, Itachi reaches the age of 10 but is still a genin. Even with a new team, his Jonin teacher refuses for Itachi to take the Chunin exam. In the end, Danzo of all people got involved and arranged for Itachi to take the exam on his own. At the age of 10, Itachi scored the second highest score on the written test in history. Just right behind the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze. He also set record time for the Forest of Death, his exercise with Shisui having helped Itachi familiarize himself with the forest. And after a single match in the third round of the exam, Itachi was immediately promoted to Chunin for his exceptional skills.
And a mere year later, at the age of 11 Itachi joins the ANBU. At an age most kids hadn't even graduated from the academy yet. Ending up on team Ro lead by Hatake Kakashi, who served as his new mentor. And after one more year in the service of the ANBU, Itachi was promoted to ANBU captain of his own squad.
Observing a training session with Itachi and Sasuke. They were in a forest, where Itachi stood at the center with various targets surrounding him. Sasuke sat quietly behind a tree, observing his brother's technique. In a flash, Itachi had jumped above the ground and was upside down. In his hands he held various kunai knives, whilst spinning around midair. With elegance and grace, he moved his arms, releasing kunai knife after kunai knife from between his fingers.
Itachi's eyes shot opened as he pulled out two more kunai knives from his pouch, and tossed them into two others. Altering their trajectory, making all the kunai bounce into each other, altering their trajectory just enough to hit all targets dead center. Itachi gracefully landed back onto the ground, and looked up with his three tomoe Sharingan burning bright.
"Amazing! Nii-san, you even hit the one in the blind spot!" Sasuke was in awe at seeing Itachi's shuriken skills.
"Whoa! Hey, this reminds me of that time we had Itachi throw rocks at cans when we were kids!" Sairaorg realized as he recalled whenever they would attend boring parties and festivals for the noble devil houses. Itachi, Sairaorg, Rias and Sona would sneak off and Itachi would show them his rock throwing skills and accuracy.
"Hey yeah… Pfft, remember how he told us he must have learnt that in a past life?" Rias giggled as she remembered the day young Ravel Phenex joined them on the rock throwing, and Itachi taught her a little. Having been asked who taught Itachi these skills, Itachi back then had replied he must have learnt it from a past life. The irony of the situation dawning on them, as Itachi had sort of told them the truth a while back.
"Heh, sneaky as always." Sona smiled at how dry Itachi's sense of humor was.
An excited Sasuke got himself ready. "Alright! My turn!"
"We have to head back now Sasuke." Itachi however, dashed Sasuke's hope in an instant.
"Hey, you promised to teach me a new shuriken jutsu today, remember?" Sasuke pouted at his brother.
"I have a very important mission tomorrow. I must prepare."
"Nii-san, you are such a liar." Sasuke continued to pout, and Itachi seemed to relent with a smile as he urged for Sasuke to come closer. "Sorry Sasuke, some other time, okay?" Itachi did his signature poke to Sasuke's forehead. Itachi looked down at the little pouting Sasuke, who then adopted a cheeky smirk.
"Check this out!" Sasuke ran ahead and tried to mimic Itachi's technique from earlier.
"Hey! Be careful!" Itachi called out, but Sasuke ended up with a sprained ankle. Itachi ended up feeling the same happiness Shisui must have felt that day, as he ended up doing the same as Shisui did for him. Itachi ended up piggyback carrying Sasuke all the way home. One of the last moments of bliss between the two brothers.
As finally, the seeds of the inner turmoil within the Uchiha clan had been brought to light. As during a clan meeting, Itachi and those watching this memory unfold observe the clan's plan for a Coup D'état against the village.
Itachi had observed his clan's fall from grace. Some members of the police force having become little more than bullies, who abuse their power against civilians who talk back to them. As it became evident to Itachi, the village blamed the Uchiha for the Kyuubi attack years ago. The Uchiha were becoming too confident in themselves, but also angry due to the unwarranted hatred from the villagers. The discrimination after the Kyuubi attack, and being pushed to the outskirts of the village.
It was all foolish really, Itachi thought. Why was everyone acting so foolish? They are all from the same village are they not? So why? Why the hate? Why the anger? Why the fear? If the village falls, so does everyone within it.
Itachi tried to do as Shisui had said, to look at things from various viewpoints. He saw the viewpoints of both the village, the leaders, the clan. But as Itachi Sitri now, Itachi understood now. He didn't truly comprehend why the Uchiha were so enraged. They had the right to be upset and want change, they had just gone the wrong way about it.
To Itachi Uchiha, the village was everything. Well, not everything, there were other people like his parents, Sasuke, Shisui and Izumi that mattered to Itachi. He had formed bonds even outside the clan, first with Tenma then with Kakashi. To Itachi, in this Shinobi world Konoha was by no means perfect, but it was still his village, and thus he had to fight for it to become the ideal society.
If one were to view things from the time back then of the Shinobi world, and also the morals of the world. It is the Uchiha who were in the wrong. Their pride and arrogance in their visual prowess made them believe they were inclined to a role of power controlling everything in the village. And they did not consider the side effects of their prideful foolishness, as if a civil war erupted in Konoha, a new Great Ninja War would commence, and the village would be wiped out.
It was at this moment, the truth behind the meaning of clan killer began to set in for everyone. They all understood, that this revolt the Uchiha were plotting would be their downfall. And also, the downfall of Itachi's life.
Itachi tries his best to reason with the clan, speaking up at a meeting where he tries to make his other clansmen see they were all a union with the village. That infighting would only bring disaster for everyone involved. Yet, everyone in his own clan shuns him and shuts him down. An older Uchiha from the police force, and one of Fugaku's attendants, Yashiro Uchiha outright called Itachi "rude" just for not agreeing with them. "Sit down you rude insolent brat! Captain! Even if he is your son, we cannot allow such disgrace!" Yashiro turned to Fugaku, who looked conflicted.
"Itachi… sit down." Fugaku after a long silence, was forced to make a decision and caved in with the will of the room. And shut Itachi down. "Please, apologize." What is more, Fugaku forced Itachi to apologize to everyone present at the meeting.
"…" Silently Itachi clenched his fists, but in the end bowed before everyone. "Forgive me… I've been stressed out a lot lately from my missions with the ANBU."
Seeing this, had Malphas Sitri fuming. "Weak minded excuse of a father!" He was seething through his teeth, and many shared his anger. Even if they could see the troubled face on Fugaku's face. As clan leader, he had to do what was best for the clan and couldn't openly favor his son over the opinion of everyone in the clan.
Walking away from the meeting, Itachi was approached by two other Uchiha. Izumi and Shisui. "Fugaku-dono sure is under a lot of pressure… but you are right. This revolt will be the end of the Uchiha and Konoha." Shisui agreed with Itachi, knowing his friend, his brother had his back was enough to encourage Itachi.
"I agree that this coup d'état is a bit extreme… I believe that things will work out. In the end the clan will see reason, they might be prideful, but I still believe they will make the right choice in the end." Izumi although not agreeing with their clansmen, and disliking some of them just like Itachi and Shisui. Still had great faith in the Uchiha. She also refused to believe the Uchiha were responsible for summoning the Kyuubi, which caused her father's death.
"I hope so… But frankly, I don't see that happening, Izumi." Shisui sympathized with Izumi, really, he did. He also wanted to believe their clansmen would see the light, and stop the revolt. But Shisui being older and more experienced, knew just how stubborn and arrogant the Uchiha were. And because of his experience, Itachi agreed with Shisui.
Itachi and Shisui ended up alone for a discussion of a potential solution. "Use your Mangekyou Sharingan?" Itachi questioned as he heard Shisui's suggestion. Revealing his Mangekyou, that Shisui had awoken years ago during the Third Great Ninja war. Shisui had the ability of Kotoamatsukami. The strongest known Genjutsu, capable of controlling an individual without them even knowing.
"I will use my Kotoamatsukami on Fugaku, to stop the revolt before it goes too far. The clan will listen to Fugaku, and we can save the village and the Uchiha from annihilation." Shisui's plan was solid, and it was the only thing they had. At this moment, Itachi had faith that things could work out. Itachi had hope.
However, unaware to both Itachi and Shisui, a third party was listening in on their plan. And they didn't notice, as it was in the form of a bug flying around. A Root ANBU member from the Aburame clan used his bugs to listen in on their conversation.
Another problem seemed to arise, as one day when he was near the Naka Shrine where the Uchiha had their secret clan meetings, and where the Uchiha stone tablet was. Itachi felt a presence nearby, when no one should be here. A figure came walking out, flickering in and out of existence as he passed through solid ground. Itachi remained hidden, and out of sight. Narrowing his gaze, as he recognized the figure. It was the masked man that had killed Tenma all those years ago. He was here, at the Naka Shrine. Investigating the stone tablet. Only the Uchiha know of its location. Meaning, this masked man, was an Uchiha. Itachi silently watched, until the figure of the masked man vanished into thin air. Itachi needed to investigate this man further, before figuring out how to deal with him.
Itachi and Shisui continued with their schedule meetings, which was less suspicious for the clan, as Shisui pretended to spy on Itachi for the clan. Even though Itachi in the memory had hope, those watching his memories knew better than to be hopeful. Knowing the clan killer bit about Itachi, they doubted this story had a happy ending. The question for them now was, how did Shisui's plan fail?
"I don't get it… With that plan, everything should work out, right?" Bob found it unbelievable that such a plan could possibly fail. If Shisui used his powers to control Itachi's father, the coup d'état should be called off, in theory anyway.
"Except Itachi's father is not the only one pushing for the revolt. And this Shisui seems to only be able to manipulate the minds of a single individual at the time. Certainly, it is a powerful and effective illusion. But it doesn't matter, if the leader fails his public, they will just replace him with another. There was no way this plan would succeed." Eto yawned, finding this hopeful version of Itachi to be rather dull.
"… As much as I dislike the Ghoul, she is correct." Esdeath begrudgingly agreed with Eto, who chuckled a bit at the revelation.
"Aww, how sweet we had a moment." Eto taunted the Ice General. Esdeath resisted the urge to run her blade through Eto's throat, and twitched her brow as they continued to observe Itachi's memories.
"At best this Kotoamatsukami is but a temporary solution." Esdeath concluded, as if Fugaku fails his clan as their leader, they will just replace him with someone else eager to carry out the revolt on Konoha.
But the plan failing wasn't the issue, it never even got the chance to be executed. As Itachi returned to the falls by the river where he and Shisui would meet up. Only to find, Shisui looking pale and with his back turned. "Shisui… are you…"
"I'm sorry… Itachi… I failed you." Shisui panted, and had a violent coughing fit. Itachi gasped as he saw blood erupt out from Shisui's mouth. "A Root Aburame clan member… guy called Sugaru…" Shisui panted and Itachi vaguely recalled the name.
"Sugaru… he is a member of Team Ro." Itachi remembered him from his days working for Kakashi's squad. A rather quiet individual, with a strange sounding voice.
"His real name… is Yoji Aburame. He works for Danzo's Root ANBU… He has also been spying on you for Danzo, ever since the Academy." Shisui learned this information first hand from both the Yoji, as well as Danzo. "He even… ended up replacing Tenma on your team… But when you joined the ANBU, he quickly joined as well… Itachi, they found out about our plan. And well, Danzo didn't like it one bit… I've been poisoned, by one of Yoji's insects. I will be dead soon…"
"Sh-Shisui, I don't understand…. Why would lord Danzo and the Foundation do this?" As Itachi asked this, Shisui spat out some blood and stood tall as he looked down the cliff and to the river below.
"When the Coup D'état happens… Enemy nations will take advantage of the opportunity to invade. Real war will break out. When I tried to stop this with my Kotoamatsukami… Danzo stole my right eye. He used Yoji's insects to paralyze me." Shisui turned around to face Itachi, revealing his right eye was missing. "That man doesn't trust me at all. He intends to protect the village his way, no matter how it looks or the cost. I suspect he will be coming after my left eye, so I will give it to before he has the chance…"
Wordlessly, most looked in awe like Itachi at how casually Shisui decided to just pluck out his own eyeball. What is more, even as his empty eye sockets bleed. Shisui smiled whilst holding his left eye in his hand. "You are the only one I can count on my best friend. Protect the village, and the Uchiha name… both of them." Shisui reached his hand out to Itachi, to hand him the eye.
Wordlessly Itachi accepts the eye, as one of his crows comes swooping down and takes it from Shisui before vanishing in a burst of black feathers. "When I die many things will change… I have left a note. I trust you, Itachi… And I am sorry for leaving you alone with such a burden. Itachi, forgive me. I will leave the rest to you." Shisui said as he threw himself off the cliff and into the rocky river below.
Itachi gasped and rushed to try and grab Shisui's hand. "Shisui!" Itachi called out his best friend, his brother's name as he watched him fall to his death. Itachi silently backed away with a look of disbelief on his face.
Just like that, Itachi's hope had died with Shisui. With the loss of Shisui and his Kotoamatsukami, as well as the threat of the masked man looming over his head, and with the Uchiha's arrogance Itachi realized. There was no hope, the Uchiha clan was done for. Itachi grinded his teeth, as if the Uchiha clan's fate was sealed, then so was his and Sasuke's. The mere thought brought Itachi more dread than he could even handle. The idea of losing Sasuke, was nearly enough to break his spirit.
With Shisui's death, Itachi's mentality is flipped upside down. He wasn't hopeful anymore. He couldn't count on anyone else but his own strength and power. Itachi's eyes began transforming, into a black pinwheel pattern. Itachi had awakened the Mangekyou Sharingan.
"The loss of a friend, and a mentor… Both times, it caused his eyes to evolve." Esdeath mumbled as in the back of her mind she thought of Behemoth.
"Itachi…" Rias silently sobbed for her boyfriend.
"Wh-What now? He kills that Danzo fucker, right?" Damian mumbled, really hoping that was the case. As did most, having experienced all of Itachi's memories with Shisui, they all had gotten to know Shisui quite well. And like Itachi, couldn't help but mourn his passing.
"I would be fucking pissed, that's for sure." Eto added, she would most definitely go after Danzo if she were in Itachi's shoes. Fuck the consequences.
However, instead of falling into the cycle of hatred like many other before, and after him. Itachi instead falls into despair and a pit of sadness. Shisui had given him hope, hope that they could save the Uchiha, save Sasuke from death and pain, and save Konoha from what Itachi inevitably believed would come next. War. Itachi knew what things would boil down to, if the Uchiha continued on this path. Which was annihilation.
Itachi sneaks into his own home, to go undetected from his father and mother who had returned from the clan meeting. Things had been quite tense with his father, Fugaku trying to remind Itachi to think on the clan first. Itachi laid in his bed, unable to sleep as he continued to see the image of Shisui throwing himself off that cliff, ending his own life.
Itachi felt like he was suffocating within his own home, as the entire next day his father would give him the cold shoulder. His mother would try and ease the tension, but Itachi much like his father just gave the silent treatment. Until Itachi came across a young moping Sasuke. The two brothers exchanged eye contact, Itachi smiled at his brother and suggested if they sit out in the backyard. They sat there in silence, until Sasuke began speaking. "Father only cares about you…" Sasuke pouted, he had done so well in the academy yet his father had not once praised him for his efforts, and only compared him to Itachi.
"You must hate me then." Itachi's reply had Sasuke shocked, even though Sasuke wouldn't admit it, he did resent Itachi a bit for having their father's full attention. "That is okay, going through life being hated. That is one path for a Shinobi. We're flesh and blood, I am always going to be there for you. Even if it is only as an obstacle for you to overcome. That is what big brothers are for."
Sasuke looked in awe, but before anything else could be said. The bawling voice of someone at their front door could be heard shouting. "Is Itachi here?! We need to talk, come out!"
Itachi internally sighed, he walked out to the front door where three members of the Police Force, and his father's own personal attendants. Yashiro Uchiha, Inabi Uchiha and Tekka Uchiha. Yashiro was one of the head officers of the police force, and his father's right hand. Inabi was one of the more skilled fighters in the entire police force possessing a powerful fire style affinity. And Tekka was the main sensory ninja of the police force. "What is wrong?" Itachi calmly greeted the three officers.
"Only two people didn't show up for last night's meeting." Yashiro began.
"Why didn't you show up?" Inabi finished with a scowl directed at the 13-year-old Itachi.
Itachi for a brief moment only silently stared at them. What was so hard to understand? He was in the ANBU. He couldn't just drop a mission from the Hokage to attend a meeting. Especially a meeting where he wasn't exactly welcomed. Instead of voicing his complaints, like usual Itachi in a calm demeanor addressed them. "I understand. I will be more careful from now on. Would that be all?"
"No, actually there is one more thing." Yashiro stopped Itachi, and as Inabi and Tekka gave him accusing stares. "The other person who didn't show up for the meeting, was Shisui Uchiha. It turns out, he had drowned himself in the Naka River last night."
Itachi understood what had happened, they must have searched Shisui's home first since Shisui was allegedly a spy for them watching over Itachi. And then they must have found the note Shisui left behind. "I see… I haven't really seen him lately. How unfortunate." Itachi's grief in this moment was genuine, even if he told a lie.
Yashiro pulled out the note left behind by Shisui. "This is the suicide note Shisui had left behind. After analyzing it, we can tell it is his handwriting."
Itachi took the note, and read it over. "I'm tired of missions. If things continue, there's no future left for the Uchiha… and for me. I can no longer go against this path." The contents of the note were Shisui addressing the coup d'état and how he could no longer be a part of it.
"We're opening an investigation." Inabi added, and Itachi was confused by this.
"An investigation? But if it was a suicide why open an investigation?" Itachi questioned, and Inabi only scowled at him.
"For someone with a Sharingan, mimicking another's handwriting perfectly would be easy. Take it to the ANBU and request that they help out with the investigation!"
"Understood." Itachi accepted, and then the men turned around to take their leave.
Watching this, some had a good idea of what was going on. "They are suspecting Itachi for Shisui's murder…" Eto voiced out what they were all thinking.
"Arrogant bastards!" Kuroka hissed.
"I certainly hope more evidence will turn up." Yashiro snide in a comment as they were walking away.
"Don't try and hide anything from us Itachi, we've got connections in the ANBU too, you know." Tekka added.
Itachi of course picked up on their snide comments, fed up he clenched onto the note. "Why don't you just come out and say it?" With that, the three men stopped and turned around with their Sharingan activated and meeting Itachi's. "You suspect me, don't you?"
"Yeah, we do, you punk!" Inabi spat his words out with venom.
"Listen, Itachi… Just try and betray the clan and you will regret it big time!" Yashiro warned, and with that Itachi enraged rushed out at the three officers and began pummeling his fists into them. Seeing this, Kuroka, Bob, Damian, Jack, Serena, Serafall and even Sona pumped their fists in excitement.
In a split second, all three officers were knocked down to the ground by a 13-year-old Itachi. "The clan, the clan… You overestimate your ability, while having no idea of the depth of my own. Look at you now, groveling in the dirt!"
"Stop, Itachi!" Fugaku arrived at the scene, shocked at seeing his three best officers knocked down that easily. "What is going on with you lately?"
Itachi pulled out a kunai and threw it against the Uchiha insignia on the wall. Fugaku eyed the cracked wall carrying their emblem, with Itachi's kunai knife lodged into it. Fugaku looked over to his oldest son. "I've had enough. There is no hope left for this pathetic clan."
As they were threatening to arrest him, and Itachi was about to explode out of frustration and go on a rant, he was brought back to reality by the pleading cries of Sasuke. "Nii-san! Please stop it!" With that, Itachi went on his knees, and lowered his head to his father and his attendants.
"I am not the one who killed Shisui. But I do apologize for my behavior today." Itachi tuned out the words his father and his three attendants said. And merely looked to Sasuke while thinking. 'Observe carefully, Sasuke… just how shallow this clan is.' Itachi's eyes morphed into the Mangekyou, which spooked Sasuke a bit as he was unfamiliar with Mangekyou Sharingan.
From that day on, Itachi mostly ignored his father, and his father hardly spoke a word to him. Itachi continued with his duties, spying on the Uchiha for Danzo and the elders. Whilst also spying on Konoha for the clan. Trying to help lord Third Hokage to find ways to solve the issue, but Hiruzen was little to no help which greatly frustrated Itachi.
Itachi continued to observe various things quite carefully. Especially the movement of a certain masked man. The masked man would sneak into the Uchiha compound like a ghost. Itachi one night followed the masked man, as he continued to look into and study the type of character he was. That is when Itachi made the shocking revelation, that the masked man was behind the Coup D'état. Itachi caught the masked man meeting up with Yashiro Uchiha. The masked man fed Yashiro intel for Yashiro to later fed Fugaku to encourage him towards the coup.
Itachi silently gripped his fist, with a newfound hatred for Yashiro bubbling up within him. He had always disliked the crude elderly man, and his arrogance. But now, having learnt Yashiro was a major conspirator in the Uchiha's coup. All without taking any accountability or responsibility for himself should things go south, instead putting the sole blame on Fugaku. The man was truly a selfish coward.
"Well, there are many types like this, despicable cowards who wants things to change no matter how drastic without shouldering any fault themselves." Azazel couldn't honestly say this was anything new. He had seen these types of people not just through the history of humanity, but even amongst the Fallen Angels and Devils alike.
Then, came the day that acted as the final straw for Itachi. Whilst walking around his family home, he ran into his father who wanted to speak with him. "You know about the clan meeting in three days, right?" Fugaku asked as Itachi stopped next to him.
"No…" Itachi replied, having no interest in taking parts in those meetings, and his father knew it.
"Come alone to the Naka Shrine after the meeting. Without your ANBU subordinates." Fugaku's request was met with a cold reply from Itachi.
"I'll be leaving tomorrow on a mission far away from the village." And proceeded to walk away.
"Don't run away." Fugaku scolded.
"Run away? From what?" Itachi questioned.
"From your Uchiha destiny. Do you understand? I will be waiting." Fugaku said his peace, and walked away leaving Itachi to frown upon the word "destiny". The clan's fate, was not his own, and it would not be Sasuke's either.
Itachi did as his father had requested. He came to the Naka shrine alone. And found his father standing before the Uchiha stone tablet. "Within the clan, only those who possess the Sharingan can read the stone tablet… And even then, they can only read part of it. But with your Mangekyou Sharingan you should be able to read further."
"Do you want me to tell you what it says?" Itachi wondered if this is why his father wanted him here, to see if there were any secrets in the tablet he didn't know of.
"No, I already know what it says." Fugaku turned around, revealing his Mangekyou Sharingan much to Itachi's shock.
"Mangekyou?! You have them too, father?!" Itachi couldn't believe it, after all these years he only found out about this now.
"It was during the Third Great Ninja War. My friend gave his life to save mine. Along with his tears of blood, the Mangekyou was born. The Uchiha's way to salvation is carved into this stone. But even with the Mangekyou Sharingan, the end cannot be deciphered. It seems we still have ways to go. However, even if it is only part way, once you read it, I am certain you will understand, Itachi. The current situation forced upon the Uchiha is wrong."
"Even so! To use force to overcome it is the wrong course of action!" Itachi was very frustrated with his father, he loved his father, and so desperately wanted his father to see past the arrogance of the Uchiha.
"The villages higher ups fear us. That is why they persecute us… out of fear towards our Sharingan." Itachi knew what his father was saying was correct, as he had even experienced it first hand when his mother wanted to adopt Naruto after the death of Minato and Kushina.
"You are right. They fear we will take control over the Kyuubi with the power of the Sharingan."
"That's just… the legend of Uchiha Madara. Since then, no one has done anything like that. We don't even know if anyone can. But the higher-ups cling to the ghosts of the past, and keep us at a distance out of fear. If they fear us… there is nothing left for us to do, but for us to control them."
Malphas who had only expressed dislike towards Fugaku, now expressed sympathy. He knew that the villages hatred towards the Uchiha was unwarranted. Even if their fear stemmed from one of their ancestors. "Dear…?" Serena looked to her trembling husband, who didn't say a word.
"Man, this situation is so fucked…" Damian clicked his tongue in frustration. Even though the Uchiha were arrogant and prideful, they didn't deserve to be hated for what one person had done in the past. The village with their discrimination towards the Uchiha, would only end up creating what they feared in their dreams, into reality.
Itachi wondered if Fugaku was going to use force to become Hokage. But Fugaku had no choice, it was the will of the clan. As their leader he couldn't turn them down. The Fugaku revealed the real reason he wanted Itachi here, trying to get Itachi's help to start a bloodless revolution without the use of force. Showing Itachi, a potential reality what were to happen if the clan learnt Fugaku had the Mangekyou Sharingan, the eye that could tame the Kyuubi. Fugaku revealed that many in the clan resented the village, and if they learnt of Fugaku's Mangekyou, they would kidnap Naruto and force out the Kyuubi to attack the village. Which would result in many casualties.
But, Fugaku had hoped that with Itachi's help and Mangekyou, they could restrain the higher-ups and end this all with a bloodless revolution until their demands are met. Itachi felt his father had gone mad. A bloodless revolution would be impossible. Fugaku overestimate his and Itachi's abilities, when compared to the village who had people like Hiruzen, Jiraiya, Danzo, Kakashi and many others. A bloodless revolution was impossible. Especially with how many hotheads were within the Uchiha. Fugaku ended his request, pleading with his son. "Itachi, you are my son. Please! Save our clan!"
His father's request, weighed heavily on Itachi's mind. What his father was asking for, a bloodless revolution was simply not possible. Itachi out of options, and out of solutions went to the villages higher-ups. Kneeling before the elders, Itachi spoke out. "The Uchiha… is intent on revolting against Konoha." Itachi relayed his intel to the elders, and they began discussing their next course of action.
Danzo was first to speak. "There's no time to waste. We must strike preemptively before them."
Hiruzen argued. "The Uchiha are our comrades in arms. I would like to use words before violence. I will come up with a solution. Itachi, it doesn't have to be long, but buy me as much time as you can." Even with the request of Lord Third, all Itachi could think was that it was too late. Nothing could be done.
And Danzo knew it as well, so after the meeting he pulled Itachi aside to meet him by a shrine. "Despite what Lord Third says, when push comes to shove. He will do whatever it takes to protect Konoha. Whether the coup d'état results in a war or not, the Uchiha will lock themselves in a fate of annihilation. Including your innocent little brother, who knows nothing." Of course, Danzo knew how much Sasuke meant to him, after all he had his Aburame Root spy watch over him. What Danzo was hinting at, had everyone disgusted, as Danzo was using Sasuke as leverage against Itachi.
"Is that a threat?" Itachi asked with a hint of killing intent in his voice.
"No, I just want you to make a choice. Either align yourself with the Uchiha, launch the coup d'état, and die along with the rest of your clan… Or side with Konoha, save your little brother before the coup d'état and help us eliminate all other Uchiha." The ultimatum Itachi was given, had all but Esdeath look in shock.
"Of course, it would come to this…" Esdeath mumbled having predicted this course of events.
"Bastard, using one's younger brother to manipulate someone!" Sirzechs trembled, his aura shaking with such intensity. That Itachi's illusion on them all nearly broke, before Sirzechs managed to contain himself and calm down.
"Itachi… this will be a very painful mission for you. But in the end, it will allow your little brother to be spared. The only one that can handle this mission, is you. A double agent for both the Uchiha and Konoha. Itachi, I know you care about the village as much as I. Do you accept this mission?" Danzo's question wasn't met with a vocal reply from Itachi, instead the young Uchiha turned his back and walked away. The inner turmoil boiling within him.
Itachi was the only one, if it had been done by someone else from the village, and Sasuke had witnessed it, Sasuke would bear a vengeful heart towards Konoha. And by Danzo's will he would have to die as well. Itachi quaked in terror, he wanted to accomplish what Shisui had entrusted to him, but he also wanted to save Sasuke. 'What should I do?' Itachi thought to himself. He knew Danzo was simply trying to manipulate him, but even so Itachi wouldn't let the old man have his way, at least not fully.
Itachi understood Danzo's intentions. Danzo probably expected Itachi to die in the attempt of the massacre, and then Danzo would send in his Root to execute those Uchiha that remained, including Sasuke. Danzo, like Itachi knew the Uchiha clan was doomed no matter what. They would either die during the coup, or the war that would follow after. Even if Itachi only went after the Police Force, and spared the civilians of the clan. Danzo wouldn't take the chance, and have them all killed regardless. Danzo thought there was no way Itachi could best his own father, and the entire Police Force on his own. Little did Danzo know. Itachi was aware of the existence of another that would even out the odds. Because if Itachi succeeded in the massacre, and survived, Danzo would be forced to keep his end of the bargain which was to spare Sasuke. And, if Itachi had killed the entire Police Force, Danzo would be even more afraid of Itachi to even dare touch Sasuke or get close.
Itachi knew what he must do. Deep in the woods, hidden amongst some ruins was the lair of the masked man. The masked man flinched, as he suddenly detected the presence of another really close by. "There is something I want your help with." Itachi walked out from the woods, and confronted the man.
The masked man was impressed, he hadn't detected Itachi's presence until now. "How did you manage to find me?"
"You slipped through extra tight Konoha security and went to examine the Naka Shrine and the Uchiha stone tablet. Only the Uchiha are aware of its location. Next all I had to do was study what kind of character you were." Itachi truly impressed the masked man who lightly chuckled.
"Well, that saves me much time. For you already know that I am an Uchiha myself. And bear hatred towards both the village and my own clan." Itachi flashed his Mangekyou Sharingan to the masked man, who seemed further intrigued.
"I have terms. I will help you exact vengeance upon the Uchiha. But you are not to harm the village itself… Nor, Sasuke Uchiha." The masked man stayed silent, and tension build up as the two were measuring each other's visual prowess to estimate the depth of each other's ability.
The masked man chuckled, as even though he could tell he was superior to Itachi, he could also tell the gap between them wasn't that large. So, a prolonged fight amongst the two of them, would potentially lead to an undesirable outcome for both sides. "Very well… I accept your terms. But I have a proposition for you. After this, you will be branded a Rogue ninja, you are going to need a place to go to. I have an organization I would like you to join… the Akatsuki. If you join, I will help you and agree to your terms."
"… I accept." Itachi was a bit hesitant, but in the end he agreed. Besides, learning more about this Akatsuki group could prove to be beneficial.
"… So, this is it?" Rias mumbled, as the gentle breeze of the night blew around them. The full moon shining brightly upon the Uchiha compound.
Itachi stood with his ANBU gear, as he met up with the masked man who appeared out of a spacetime swirl. "Ready?" The masked man asked so casually and emotionless, this man's consciousness was as light as a feather. The sign of someone truly evil.
"I am…" Itachi held onto his short sword.
"Before we go…" The masked man, who had revealed himself to Itachi as the Legendary Madara Uchiha, was about to offer Itachi something that would ease the weight of his consciousness. "Want me to deal with the district with most of the civilians? I can take the majority of the children and the elderly. It doesn't matter to me. While you deal with the side of the district surrounding the Police station. Would be more challenging, but you should manage just fine. Naturally if any of the Police Force are in my district, I will eliminate them as well."
"… That would be fine." Itachi accepted Madara's offer, but had a request of his own. "Before we start, I would like to deal with someone else first." Itachi's request was a bit odd for Madara, but the masked man accepted none the less.
Everyone stared anxiously wondering what Itachi was going to take care of first, all but one. Rias stared with sad eyes, as she observed the guilty look in Itachi's eyes. "He is going to Izumi's first…" Rias mumbled, earning a few collective shocked looks.
And indeed, she was right. Itachi snuck over to Izumi's home. First, he lured out her mother to the front door, swiftly striking her down with his blade. His short sword cutting into her back, hitting all her vital organs giving her an instant quick death. "Mom?" Izumi walked out into the hallway, and stood there in shock as she saw her mother's corpse, and Itachi standing there with a bloodied sword. 'Was this genjutsu?' Izumi thought to herself.
Rias began hyperventilating a bit, she recognized this scene from one of her nightmares, lightly groaning as she clutched her hands onto her head. Itachi stood before Izumi, who was a bit baffled to see him. "Itachi-kun? What is wrong?" Izumi asked as she placed her hand on Itachi's shoulder, she could feel his entire body trembling and his eyes filled with sadness. Izumi despite seeing her dead mother, did not accuse Itachi who was clearly the culprit, instead she asked her lover what was wrong. She was too pure and kind hearted for this cruel world, Itachi thought and clasped his hand onto hers.
"Izumi… forgive me." Itachi choked on his words, meeting Izumi's gaze his eyes changed into the Mangekyou. "Tsukuyomi!" Izumi gasped, feeling time slow down.
Izumi woke up the next morning, her life continuing as normal, her mother still alive and so was her father. Through Itachi's genjutsu, Izumi went through her entire life. Becoming a chunin, retiring from being a Shinobi and marrying Itachi, starting a family with Itachi. Itachi and Izumi going on walks with their first-born baby boy. Having another child, a girl this time. Sending their kids to the academy, Itachi becoming the next Hokage. The Uchiha and village were at peace with each other, and lived in harmony. Their children would grow up, and give them grandchildren. In the end, Izumi lived out her final days of old age. Dying of sickness, she died peacefully in her own bed with Itachi next to her. But not before muttering out her last words. "Thank you… Itachi-kun. For giving me the life, I always wanted."
In reality, Izumi's body collapsed into Itachi's arms. Still clinging onto life, Itachi mumbled out his final words to her. "Thank you, Izumi, for loving someone like me." Itachi cried as he held onto her lifeless corpse. Izumi's mind thinking she had died of old age, having lived nearly 80 years of her life in a genjutsu that lasted not even more than 0,000001th of a second in reality. Izumi's brain shut down, and she died peacefully in Itachi's arms that night.
"…" No one said a word, and instead people cried with sadness for the couple. And along with Itachi in the memory, who still held onto Izumi's smiling dead body. He shakingly put her down gently onto her own bed. With this, Itachi had mentally prepared himself to carry out the rest of the massacre, there was no turning back now.
Itachi first went for one of his father's attendants, Tekka Uchiha. He was a sensory type, and he without a doubt would sense the various lives being lost in the Uchiha compound tonight. If he were allowed to live too long, he could sound the alarm and wake up everyone else.
Tekka could sense the disappearing chakra signatures, Madara was already making his way through every household in the compound. As Tekka was about to leave his home, he was confronted by Itachi. Not even exchanging words, Tekka knew what Itachi was here for. Casting a Sharingan genjutsu onto Itachi, Tekka was quickly overpowered by Itachi's much stronger Mangekyou Sharingan. And before Tekka knew it, Itachi had stabbed him through the stomach.
Itachi twisted the blade in Tekka, and violently pulled it out, as he watched Tekka collapse and bleed out. Once Tekka was dead, Itachi moved into his home and executed Tekka's sleeping wife and the rest of his family. Itachi made his way through the Uchiha compound, killing various members of the Police Force before they even knew what hit them.
Sneaking into homes, he slashed open men and women with his short sword. He made his way into another one of his father's attendants' homes. Inabi Uchiha. "What's going on dear?" Inabi's wife asked him as they had heard screams outside.
"I don't know… stay here, okay?" Inabi turned around to face his wife, as he was about to go out and investigate. But was shocked to see Itachi having snuck in without him being aware, and slit his wife's throat. Inabi even though he was shocked, quickly made a few hand seals for a fire jutsu. But before the flames could even escape his mouth, Itachi cut off Inabi's head with his sword.
Inabi's blood splattered against Itachi's stoic face, killing Inabi was something he wouldn't regret. Now, he had one more special person to visit. One of the main conspirators for pushing the situation to this point, was going to face responsibility for his actions. Yashiro Uchiha was his next target.
Itachi infiltrated Yashiro's home. Itachi appeared in the center of the living room where Yashiro's family was gathered. Yashiro's parents, his wife and 20-year-old son. Itachi before anyone could say a word, killed Yashiro's parents, then his wife. And as Yashiro's son charged at him with a kunai, Itachi stabbed Yashiro's son through the heart.
Yashiro backs up in fright, and yelps in fear as Itachi coldly glares at him. Yashiro preserving his own life the most, flees and abandons his family. Itachi scoffs at the coward, as did everyone watching, and Itachi quickly chased him down. Yashiro seeing, he was cornered began to beg. "D-Don't kill me, Itachi… I-I will call off the coup… just don't kill me."
Itachi was beyond pissed off, Yashiro was such a coward and unwilling to take responsibility for his actions. That he so easily was willing to call off the coup d'état he had been so invested in starting previously. "Have you no shame? Take responsibility and face the consequences of your actions like a proper Shinobi."
Yashiro backed up in fright. "I-It's not my fault! It's your father Fugaku who wanted this coup!" Yashiro backed away, and looked in panic as he saw Itachi didn't believe a word of what he was saying. "N-No! I-It's Madara! The masked man, he is the one behind everything, Itachi… Together you and I can bring him to justice, just don't kill me!"
"Madara is the one helping me with this massacre." Itachi reveals, to which Yashiro's face turns pale. Before he can plead anymore for his pathetic life, Itachi uses Tsukuyomi to torture Yashiro to the point where he cannot even speak. As Yashiro shakingly falls to his knees, Itachi ends his life by cutting off his head.
Itachi continued to make his way through the compound, killing several members of the Police Force in their sleep and their families. As Itachi cut down a young woman, he heard whimpers coming from a nearby closet. Opening the closet, Itachi saw a young Uchiha boy at the same age as Sasuke. He was crying and looking at Itachi in fear.
Itachi takes a deep breath, grabbing onto the child's ankle as he pulls him out of the closet. "No! No! Let me go! Mommy! Daddy! Help me!" The child cried. Seeing this Asia, Gasper and many weak hearted individuals closed their eyes and covered their ears.
Itachi at the time, is thinking. 'Danzo hoped I would die, so he could slaughter Sasuke and everyone else with his Root forces. This child is doomed either way, I cannot save him. By doing this, I am giving him mercy.' The Uchiha were doomed from the start, best Itachi could do now was to preserve the noble Uchiha name like he had promised Shisui. Itachi makes sure to give the child a swift and painless death, first putting him to sleep with genjutsu, in which the child wakes up in his mother's loving arms. The mother cooed her son, who was shaking and crying. "It's okay baby, it was only a nightmare. Mommy is here." The child calmed down, and embraced his mother in the dream. Whilst in reality, Itachi had stabbed his sword through the child's heart ending his life right then and there. The emotions they felt from Itachi's heart was overwhelming, feeling of sadness, grief, anguish. They were amazed at how he was even able to keep a stoic face, even as the blood of his clansmen splattered against his face.
"Forgive me…" Itachi pleads as he leaves the home. Itachi jumps atop of a telephone pole. From there he was able to see young Sasuke making his way home from training. Having just killed a child at Sasuke's age, Itachi was filled with anguish and regret. 'Now I regret not telling you everything, before it had come to this.' Itachi at this point, has no hope. And cannot count on anyone else with Shisui dead, all Itachi could count on was his own strength to accomplish his goal which is to keep Sasuke safe and one day, make him a hero.
Itachi now, as Itachi Sitri, regretted in not trusting in Sasuke's own strength and resolve at the time. Instead, he tried to manipulate Sasuke's life and his path. That was a mistake, but one he owned up to, so he had no regrets in the end.
Then, came the last living Uchiha members in the compound, Itachi's own parents. 'Father is the worst possible opponent for me… this will be a battle between Mangekyou Sharingan users. I need to proceed with extreme caution.'
Malphas sighed, as they all anticipated the death match between father and son to come. They all silently watched on, as Itachi made his way over to his home. He could sense his parents were somewhere inside, but he was also on the lookout for traps that may have been set. "Over here…" His father's voice called out to him, shocking Itachi for a moment. "There are no traps. Come inside." Fugaku called out to his son, sounding as firm and strong like Itachi had always known him to be.
Itachi slid open the door, and entered the room to find both his father and mother sitting besides each other on their knees with their backs turned to him. Seeing them like this, had not just Itachi in the memory baffled, but also Malphas Sitri. "I don't want to participate in a death match with my own son." Itachi silently stood with his blade ready behind his mother and father. "I see… so you have aligned with the other side."
"Father… mother… I just…" Itachi was at a loss for words, he didn't know what to say to his parents as he were about to take their lives.
"We already know, Itachi." His mother spoke in assurance, sounding a bit defeated as she had come to terms with her own fate.
"Itachi, just promise me this…" Fugaku spoke causing Itachi to halt his blade. "That you will take care of Sasuke…" Fugaku's final request was met with a lot of shocked gasps, and muffled cries as they saw Itachi's body beginning to tremble. Tears running down Itachi's face.
"I will…" Itachi choked on his own words, his blade beginning to tremble as his tears dripped onto the metal.
Wondering what would happen next, Malphas found himself uncertain what he would say in this situation. But was then surprised once again by Fugaku Uchiha, as unlike Malphas he knew just what to say. "Do not fear it. This is the path you have chosen. Compared to yours, our pain will be over in an instant. Our philosophies may differ, but I am still proud of you." Itachi loudly began to sob, for once showing his true feelings to his father, the mask had come off and the true Itachi Uchiha had surfaced. "You are truly a kind child." Fugaku finished. Itachi first ran his blade through his mother's heart, and then finally across his father's back.
Then mere moments later, young Sasuke entered the room. And Itachi once again put on an emotional mask, and took on the role as a villain. Torturing his brother with visions of Itachi slaughtering their entire clan. Encouraging Sasuke to hate him, Itachi fled the Uchiha compound, leaving Sasuke unconscious.
Itachi met up with Madara. "It's over… Shall we go?" Madara asked.
"Go on ahead… I still have some business to attend to." Itachi replied, and without asking any further questions, Madara vanished through his spacetime swirl. Alone, Itachi collapsed onto his knees and cried salty tears for all the innocent lives lost tonight. And for what he did to Sasuke.
Itachi needed to find a way to reach Danzo, leaving one last message to the elder before he would meet up with Hiruzen. Luckily the perfect disguise presented itself. "Why don't you come out? Sugaru? Or should I say… Yoji Aburame." Itachi's Sharingan revealed the position of Danzo's spy, the Root member who had poisoned and killed Shisui, and spied on Itachi since the academy revealed himself.
"Itachi… you knew I was here the whole time?" Yoji's voice sounded distorted. His vocal cords had originally been cut when during childhood his father slit his throat. Yoji now used his insects to speak, thus his voice sounded strange and distorted.
"Yeah… Danzo probably told you to kill me after the massacre, didn't he?" Itachi stared down the Aburame, seeing his insects already surrounding them. With his Mangekyou Sharingan Itachi eyed each of the insects.
"You are perceptive… But still so naïve, as to fall for Lord Danzo's manipulation." Yoji was confident, believing there was nothing Itachi could do to stop him. "I defeated the famous body flicker, Uchiha Shisui. You don't stand a chance."
"I wouldn't be so sure…" Itachi replied, and just as Yoji was about to attack, his body suddenly went numb.
"Wh-What is this?" Yoji fell to his knees, unable to move a single muscle.
"Simple, I used Tsukuyomi on the insects inhabiting in your body. Making them poison their own host, being you, from within." Itachi had put every single insect connected to Yoji's chakra under the genjutsu of his Tsukuyomi, and turned them onto their own host.
"T-This won't kill me… I have antibodies for the poison!" Yoji shakingly stood up.
"I know, this was just to make sure you stand still." Itachi's right eye shed tears of blood as the air around them suddenly shifted. "Amaterasu!" Black flames suddenly erupted onto Yoji's body. Yoji's distorted voice cried out in pain, as the black flames consumed his body. In the end, there was nothing left of Yoji's body, other than his ashes and his ANBU mask.
Itachi grabbed the ANBU mask, and found a nearby cloak to disguise himself. Moving in acting as one of Danzo's Root ANBU members. He stayed close as the ANBU, Hiruzen and Danzo came to inspect and clean up the bodies of the dead Uchiha. Itachi arrived just in time to hear Hiruzen scold Danzo, and remove him from power. Itachi and another aid of Danzo walked together with him. "Lord Danzo, the body count doesn't add up."
"What?" Danzo questioned his aid.
"It's like they just vanished into thin air." Both the aid and Danzo looked to Itachi disguised as Sugaru. Feeling an intense blood lust from him, but as soon as he spoke, they realized it was Itachi.
"I witnessed everything." Danzo looked in panic as he saw Itachi's Mangekyou glow through the eyeholes of the mask. "If you as much touch Sasuke, I will pass on classified village intel to every enemy nation." Itachi threatened Danzo, and then vanished into a murder of crows.
Danzo scowled as his plan had been ruined and put to a halt. "Damn you." Danzo cursed in defeat.
"Serves him right!" Serafall scowled, wanting to blast the image of Danzo before her with her magical staff.
Itachi's crows went on to meet up with Hiruzen, kneeling before the Third Hokage. "First, you have my thanks. Civil war has been avoided in Konoha. You have singlehandedly maintained the peace. However, I regret that there was no other way to achieve it."
Itachi lowered his head. "I apologize."
"I am the one who must apologize. You will now be branded a rogue ninja who massacred his entire clan, and be listed in the Bingo Book as a fugitive, wanted dead or alive."
"That goes without saying." Itachi had already accepted his fate, and what his life would be from now on.
"What will you do from now?" Hiruzen asked with concerned filled eyes for the young Uchiha. As above all else, Hiruzen felt he was a failure of a Hokage for letting this happen. Itachi since he had been 7 had already thought like a Hokage. And now, Hiruzen speculated if Itachi's philosophy and way of thinking already exceeded his own.
"I've found aid from a group called the Akatsuki. They are a group of criminals… I will work for them, but I will also spy on them. And give any intel should they threaten the village. I also intend to stay close to them, to ensure a promise is not broken." Hiruzen went on to promise that Sasuke would be well looked after, and grow into a respectable Konoha Shinobi. And with that, Itachi parted ways with his village.
The bloodied massacre over and done with, the loss of Shisui, Izumi and his own parents. Having dishonored his own name, and shouldered the full hatred of his younger brother Sasuke. Having made one last threat to Danzo to leave Sasuke alone, and one last request to Hiruzen to protect Sasuke. And avenge Shisui by killing Yoji Aburame. Itachi was far into the forest outside of the village, and cried salty tears over the innocent blood he had spilled tonight.
Still, Itachi had to quickly mask his emotions, as he was to meet with the masked man who claimed to be Madara Uchiha. Just because Itachi had to mask his feelings, didn't mean those watching had to. Rias looked stun locked with her eyes widened, the tears wouldn't stop running down her face. Akeno was silently sobbing.
"Itachi…" Kuroka nearly choked on her own words, as she wrapped her tails around the sobbing Koneko. Realizing how close she came to walk down the same path as Itachi had once done. Kuroka held tightly onto her trembling little sister, thanking Itachi for being in her life, and saving her from making this choice.
Raven even though she couldn't show emotion, or let it overcome her. She looked away with salty tears escaping her closed eyes. Hiding underneath her hood, she didn't to look. If she looked more at Itachi's memories, she would lose control. She needed to cool down a bit.
"Sirzechs…" Grayfia held a handkerchief to her face, as she looked at her husband who continued to watch the memories unfold. His eyes burning with intense hatred, the images of Danzo and this masked man filling his mind. "I know… but there is nothing we can do." Grayfia held her husband's hand, shakingly Sirzechs seemed to calm down.
"I know…" Sirzechs acknowledged this fact, even as much as it pained him to see Itachi like this.
Sona and Serafall both were crying, but also huffing with an intense sensation of anger and regret. Anger at those that put Itachi in such a position. And regret that they had no way of helping Itachi during these times. Serena was holding tightly onto Malphas, who still seemed to heavily think on the final moments of Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha. In that final moment, Fugaku Uchiha had earned Malphas' respect as a fellow father.
Issei, Saji, Kiba, Asia, Xenovia, Gasper, Bob and Damian were bawling their eyes out with manly tears. Even Sairaorg shed a single tear for his brother. And in his mind saluted the efforts of Shisui Uchiha, and the sacrifices of Itachi. Eto and Esdeath both silently watched intrigued. Harry showed his respect, but remaining silent and standing firm. He would observe every last moment of Itachi's memories, Itachi deserved that much respect from him. Not once, through all of this, had Harry ever batted an eye or looked away. Not once.
They see, as the dark side of Itachi's past unfolds. Even as a spy, Itachi still had to do dirty work for the Akatsuki. Acts of terrorism, assassinations, be a mercenary. They watched what would be one of Itachi's greatest regrets, which was not killing Orochimaru when he had the chance. The greedy snake was a member of the Akatsuki. And had tried to steal Itachi's body for himself. But the snake was no match for Itachi, and was chased away. Itachi contemplated on whether he should kill Orochimaru, or find some other way to use him. He wouldn't get a chance to make a decision, as Kabuto came to his master's rescue and they quickly fled from Itachi.
This mistake, had Orochimaru continue his evil, and kill Hiruzen. The one who had promised to be Sasuke's protector. Concerned what Danzo and the elders might do, Itachi made sure to remind them of the danger he still posed to them. Making an appearance in Konoha, hospitalizing his former mentor Kakashi. Although not without earning some suspicion, as Kakashi picked up on how Itachi could have killed him if he wanted to, but for some reason unknown to Kakashi at the time, didn't.
The reunion of the two brothers, with Sasuke angrily charging at Itachi with the intent to kill. But the time wasn't right, so Itachi was forced to brutally beat Sasuke. Another regret in his life, he had to torture Sasuke with the Tsukuyomi, hoping the growing hatred would make Sasuke stronger.
Years go by, Itachi is 21 years old, and has contracted a deadly illness to his lungs. His body weakened and life prolonged with the help of medication. Time was beginning to run out, so Itachi set out on his final goal. He arranged a stage for him and Sasuke to battle it out to the death, to Itachi's death. It was a violent battle, and Itachi used what power he could manage despite his near blindness and sickness. All in order to seal away Orochimaru, and free Sasuke of the curse mark.
Then came his death, people watched on with horrified gazes. As they saw the injured and near-death Itachi wobble closer to Sasuke who was backed up against a wall. Itachi's vision fully gone, acting on nothing but his other senses. His Susano'o remained as a defense, and terrified Sasuke. Itachi reached his hand out towards Sasuke, all the way until the end, pretending to be stealing Sasuke's eyes. Mumbling out his last words underneath his breath. "Sorry Sasuke… but this is it." Itachi did his signature forehead tap onto Sasuke's forehead, and then he collapsed. And everything turned black.
"I-Is it over?" Akeno was now really crying, seeing Itachi dying like that broke her just as much as when her mother died. She was close to having a panic attack.
Rias on the other hand, had not changed ever since Itachi left the village. She still looked stun-locked, not saying a single word as the tears just continued to run down her face. "Rias…" Sirzechs tried to reach out to his younger sister, but hesitated as he wasn't sure of what to say.
Then, there was light again. Itachi was back in the Shinobi world, as a reanimated Edo Tensei. They had to watch more. Learning that despite Itachi's efforts, the Fourth Great Ninja War happened anyway. But only because Tobi declared war on the five great nations. And with his reunion with Naruto, Itachi learnt of Sasuke's fate after his death. Sasuke had ended up finding out the truth of Itachi, and swore vengeance upon Konoha.
As they saw the reanimated Itachi speak with Naruto, they saw Itachi's eyes regain something he had lost ever since Shisui's death. He had regained hope, Naruto had sparked the hope within Itachi once again. Leaving Itachi to entrust Naruto to deal with Sasuke.
They couldn't really blame Sasuke for being angry, after everything he had been through, everything Itachi had been through. Meeting Naruto however was a blessing in disguise. As Itachi used his Sharingan to summon forth the crow with Shisui's eye he had given to Naruto prior to his own death. And with the Kotoamatsukami he broke Kabuto's hold on him.
And then, the brothers reunited once more to confront Kabuto and undo the Edo Tensei. Itachi would learn from Sasuke, that Sasuke had killed Danzo in revenge. A thought that satisfied a lot of people, or rather everyone watching. The idea that Danzo got what he deserved in the end, was so satisfying to learn.
Then after defeating Kabuto with the Izanami, Itachi had undone the reanimation Jutsu. And once again, like his death, he was wobbling towards Sasuke with his hand reached out. "There is still time… I must tell you everything, before we part ways for good. There is no need to lie anymore. That night I left you, I did everything Danzo and Tobi, told you I did. I will show you, the entire truth." Itachi used his Sharingan, and showed Sasuke everything he had just shown them.
At the end of it, Sasuke looked confused and not sure what to think. He only looked with sad eyes at his brother, and wordlessly listened closely to Itachi's final words. "I have told you the truth. I won't have to… ever again… I have… always lied to you, and asked for your forgiveness while keeping you at a distant with my hand. Because I wanted to keep you out of this. But now, I believe that perhaps you could have changed father, mother, and the rest of the Uchiha… If only I had come to you from the start, looked straight into your eyes and told you the truth. Then I wouldn't have to stand before you as a failure telling you all of this. But I want to impart at least this much truth to you." Itachi stopped before Sasuke, his hand seemingly reaching to poke Sasuke's forehead again. But no, instead Itachi put his hand around the back of Sasuke's head, for once pulling him in. "You don't ever have to forgive me, and whatever you do from here on out… know this." Itachi placed his forehead against Sasuke's looking at him with a warm gentle smile. "No matter what I will love you always."
Itachi's final words to Sasuke, finally had the likes of Sirzechs and Azazel shed tears. The final touching goodbye of the two brothers, brought tears to nearly everyone's eyes.
Seeing Itachi's final goodbye to Sasuke, had Rias shed tears of sadness. Completely out of it, as she felt sadness for the fate of the two brothers, but also feeling a bond between her and the brothers. It felt almost like she had been a part of the two brother's lives through watching Itachi's memories, and thus had grown a connection to them. Rias was certain she wasn't the only one, as looking around she saw many shed tears of sadness for the Uchiha brothers. Even some of the experienced adults like her brother Sirzechs, the rest looked on with painful expressions, or stoic faces as they weren't sure of how to react.
To Rias, this was the end of Itachi Uchiha's story. But then they all saw the beginning of Itachi Sitri's story. Itachi spirit wandering through a vast empty space of clouds, that soon darkened as a tall dark hooded figure came to view. To almost everyone, this figure was unfamiliar. All except for three people other than Itachi.
Raven and Kuroka both gasped at hearing the figure speak, recalling the mysterious "The Unseen One" disguised as a shopkeeper in Kyoto. The major difference Raven noticed, was that when the Unseen One told Itachi to go into his new life. His hand was purely made out of bone. His bony finger pointing at Itachi, sending him away to his new life as Itachi Sitri. When Raven and Kuroka encountered the Unseen One, without a doubt he was an ordinary man with his face hidden.
The third person who recognized this figure, was Rossweisse. Due to her having been drunk at the time, she had a harder time recalling the sound of the voice. But hearing his voice ripple through times space of Itachi's memories, she knew she recognized it from somewhere. And what is more, she is the only one who also saw the Unseen One's face. Not that she knew that however, as the true nature of this figure remained a mystery. That, and she couldn't recall his face even if she wanted to.
And suddenly, they were back in the movie theater with Itachi on stage. The sound of hiccupping cries from Asia, Gasper, Koneko, Kuroka and the moved tears of Issei, Saji, Kiba, Bob were very apparent in the theater as silence ensued for a short bit. Itachi didn't dare look at their faces, and instead looked to his own feet as he shamefully had to admit one thing. "I was afraid of showing you all this. But with what Ophis started, I realized this day was inevitable. But still, I was afraid… I suppose my Devil biology is getting the best of me here. For I have a selfish wish for you all, I do not wish for any of you to hate me. Although, I wouldn't blame any of you, if you did." Itachi decided to do what a Shinobi never must do, make himself vulnerable in front of others. And after having learnt of the workings of his old world, everyone understood the significance of this. "I have the blood of so many innocents on my consciousness. Although I don't regret any of it… I suppose I can't help but be afraid of lose what I have gained in this life because of it. And I knew, by keeping the truth from you, I unintentionally caused you all to worry, and caused some of you a great deal of pain."
Itachi hears the sound of approaching footsteps, almost expecting to be judged, he feels like closing his eyes. "I just-" Before he can say another word, Sirzechs steps before him and pulls him in for a hug. Itachi's eyes go wide from astonishment, as he stares over Sirzechs' shoulder. And see the faces of everyone in the crowd, none were judgmental of him. Nearly everyone looked at him with nothing but feelings of sadness for Itachi, love, and care. Whilst those like Ajuka, Esdeath and Eto although had stoic faces, didn't seem to think differently of him either. In fact, Eto and Esdeath both looked rather intrigued. And Ajuka ended up cracking a small smile as he met Itachi's gaze.
Sirzechs pulls away from Itachi, and gazing into the current Lucifer's eyes, Itachi saw nothing but love and care in them. "Looks like you had quite the burden on your shoulders… You did the best you could." Sirzechs acknowledged, and placed his hands on Itachi's shoulders. "No matter what happened in the past, you are still the same Itachi we've always known." Sirzechs stepped aside knowing people from the crowd were about to rush in.
First in line was Rias, who ran up to Itachi and held him tightly, and started crying into his shoulder. Itachi didn't have time to say anything, as Kuroka, Koneko, Akeno, Sona, Serafall, his mother Serena all soon followed. Shortly Jack also jumped onto his back, sniffling lightly as she held back her tears, burying her face into the back of his head. "You are quite the guy… captain." Damian and Bob both lightly punched his shoulders, Bob though in his petite form and also on the brink of crying.
"A true brother…" Harry stepped up behind Itachi, and ruffled his hair a bit.
"Mm! Got that right!" Sairaorg held Itachi in a headlock, and looked with newfound admiration for his rival/brother's mental strength.
"I'm so happy for Itachi-san…" Asia cried, with Issei and Xenovia trying to comfort her, while crying tears of their own. All just really happy that after everything, Itachi had a happy life here now.
Itachi still with an astonished look of awe, felt a strong sensation of relief wash over him. And uncharacteristically of him, he let the tears run down, and lightly chuckled as he smiled with happiness.
"It-tan! Onee-chan will never let anything like that happen to you again!" Serafall cried, holding tightly onto Itachi and refusing to let go.
"Never again…" Sona was fighting back her urge to join the group hug. She was trembling and shedding tears for her brother. But soon found herself getting dragged in by Serafall who demanded Sona be a part of this sibling bonding. "Onii-sama…!" Sona choked on her words, and began crying, hiding her face away so no one would see by burying it in Itachi's shirt.
Itachi smiled as he looked at his crying younger sister, stroking her hair and cupping his hand onto her cheek. "My biggest mistake back then, was being unable to show Sasuke proper brotherly love… Instead, I showed my live through keeping him alive, giving him a purpose and make him the Hero of the Leaf who killed his evil older brother. I will never, make that mistake again…" Itachi looked at his sisters, his mother and father, his lovers and friends. "Had I given Sasuke the proper respect, and love through affection and attention. Sasuke may not have turned out the way he did, a hate filled man seeking vengeance at every corner. It was my biggest failure… And I was too late back then to fix it."
"Well, thanks to that hooded being… you know Sasuke and that Naruto made up and saved the world." Damian pointed out, which ended up raising some questions amongst everyone. Just who was that hooded entity?
"I suppose…" Itachi sighs, as he begins reflecting over his life, his old world and this new one, and all the choices he had made. In the end, he couldn't help but chuckle. "The funny thing is, I wasn't expecting you all to be so accepting. In the Shinobi world, had my truth been known, I would probably be known as a hero who did what a Shinobi had to do, make the hard choice. That is what defines a Shinobi. But in this modern world, where the world's values are different… I expected to be viewed as a villain regardless of the truth."
"Hmm, perhaps…" Sirzechs hums as none can really disagree with that idea. Had this happened in this modernized human world, Itachi would probably be viewed as a villain and a sociopath. But not to everyone. "I believe you to be more of an anti-hero if anything. But most of all, a loyal man who stayed loyal through his lies. You grew up in a world of lies and contradictions that were used to benefit one's village or themselves. I believe, the reason you spared Sasuke… was obviously because of your love. But, for that love to come from such a world like you grew up in… A world in which you were filled with stress pressing from both the clan and the village. And made to believe, everything to be lies. Sasuke remained your source of light. To you, he was innocent and not represented by the burdens of the village or the clan. To you, Sasuke was the only symbol of the one absolute truth you knew in your life at the time. The undeniable truth that you loved your younger brother."
Sirzechs, and many others were well aware for this to be the fact, as through Itachi's memories they knew all his thoughts and feelings at the time. "Until your final moments, where you finally saw other truths in this world of lies in the form of Naruto. And because of this, your eyes were able to see the truth in this world, even if hidden in a cloud of lies. And because of that, you have been able to build healthy relationships with your family and friends. Something you never could, as Itachi Uchiha." Sirzechs insight in how he viewed Itachi as a person, and how he viewed Itachi living his new life compared to his old. Was something Itachi hadn't thought of before, perhaps because he didn't want to. Afraid of bringing the past back to light. But now, Itachi had to agree with Sirzechs.
Whilst nearly everyone surrounded Itachi, two stood back by the sidelines watching people take turn to embrace Itachi. Raven and Eto, neither showed any intent on joining the group hug. Eto playfully glanced over at Raven. "Why not join your man, witch girl?" Eto's smile had Raven feel sick to her stomach, it looked like Eto didn't even care despite having witnessed Itachi's backstory. Eto had initially been shocked learning Itachi was a reincarnation, but sad? No, not really. All this had served for Eto, was just to confirm to her that Itachi was more like her than she had originally thought.
Raven on the other hand, looked on Itachi after learning the truth with admiration. Despite having gone through so much, sacrificed so much, Itachi was still able to be good. "I can't…" Raven mumbled out an answer to Eto's question. Raven knew, if she rushed in to hug Itachi now, she would be overwhelmed with her emotions. And her powers would act out. Raven however, was not made of stone, and despite doing her best to keep her emotions away. As an empath, Raven was able to feel the emotions all around the room. And because of that, tears began running down her stoic face.
"You say that, yet you are making such a face…." Eto comments with a taunting looking smirk that has Raven boil with anger from within.
Raven looks to Eto, remaining stoic but the look in her eyes were enough to tell Eto she was mad. "What about you?" Raven glares at the half ghoul.
"What about me?" Eto tilts her head repeating the question. "You expect me to get emotional? Sorry witch, but my emotions died a long time ago~"
Raven shakes her head in responds. "No, I don't expect that. I know you well enough to never expect that. What I want to know, is do you even care?"
Eto tilts her head. "Why don't you use that mind mirror of yours and find out?" Eto's mere mentioning of the mirror, and how they in the past used it on Itachi, had Raven's fists tremble as she fought the urge to smack the half ghoul.
"Do you even care about Itachi, or anyone but yourself?" Raven spoke through gritted teeth, and Eto just playfully hummed and looked with a sadistic grin.
"I love Itachi~" Eto giggles, and Raven looks unsure if Eto was even genuine, or if she meant it in the sense of viewing Itachi as food for her. "And to answer your question, I don't care about myself at all. There is only one person, I have ever truly cared for." Eto reveals as in the back of her mind, she thought of her own mother. Eto then however, does end up thinking of Itachi for a brief moment. "Although, I must admit… I think I am starting to fall in love~" Eto eyes Itachi, her ghoul eye flashing red showing her excitement. "I mean, who wouldn't after witnessing such carnage? What is a girl to do, that really got my motor running~" At hearing the words coming out from this psychopath, Raven gives up on talking with Eto any further on this matter. And was left with wondering why Itachi ever recruited Eto into his peerage in the first place.
With everything of Itachi's past having been revealed, Raven also remembered a certain other entity that she was certain she saw in Itachi's memories. The Unseen One, the entity who resurrected Itachi at the very end of the vision of Itachi's memories. Raven held the phone strap with the Uchiha insignia, and walked over to Itachi as things started to cool down. "Itachi… we have to discuss this." Raven held out the phone strap, which now everyone in the room recognized as the Uchiha clan insignia.
Itachi then suddenly recalled before he went to back Raven and the rest of the second-year students, Bob, Azazel and Rossweisse up against the Hero Faction. Raven had shown this phone strap to him during the call juts moments prior to the attack. "Yeah, I have been meaning to ask, where did you get this?" Itachi asked as he grabbed ahold of the phone strap.
And so, Raven began explaining how while sightseeing, she and Kuroka came across this mysterious shopkeeper who was selling souvenirs. Which included this phone strap, and that before anyone else noticed him he had disappeared into thin air. "It came with this note…" Raven also handed the note the mysterious shopkeeper had left behind.
Itachi read through the contents of the note, and looked with a raised brow. "The Unseen One? Ask Itachi if he is enjoying his new life?"
"I think… he is that hooded entity that resurrected you in the first place." Raven revealed, causing Sirzechs, Azazel, Ajuka and Serafall in particular to look with curious glances.
"Let me see that." Azazel snatched the note, and read through it himself. "The Unseen One? Never heard of him."
"An alias or a nickname perhaps… I have to say, I didn't recognize him in Itachi's memories. But, for someone to resurrect Itachi in such a fashion… It must be the work of a God." Ajuka concluded, especially seeing how Itachi was giving buffed up versions of his powers.
"But which God?" Sirzechs asked.
"Well, it can't be any God. Whoever this entity is, must be quite powerful. And that just narrows it down to the Top 40 or Top 30 range of the strongest beings." Azazel concluded, neither of them bothered hiding anything from Itachi anymore, especially as he did the courtesy of being honest with them. "This entity, didn't just give you your Mangekyou abilities. He gave you, enhanced versions holding the actual powers of Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, Susano'o, Izanagi and Izanami. We, have honestly been trying to figure out for a while now. How these powers came to be a part of you Itachi, and now we know." Azazel revealed. Some would maybe be outraged at having learnt that something so important, about oneself was kept away from them. But Itachi wasn't, and after learning his background, and having gotten to know who he was in this life, Azazel knew Itachi wouldn't feel betrayed or hurt by this either.
"I see… When you mention it, my Mangekyou abilities did feel a bit different compared to when I had used them in the past. I honestly just assumed it was because I had the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan now." Itachi was a bit baffled as well about this Unseen One and his actions. Why specifically give Itachi such potential and great power?
"I'm guessing the Unseen One was counting on you assuming that when the day would come for you to unlock these eyes." Ajuka shared his thoughts. "What is more baffling to me, is why a God would pick for you to be reincarnated into a Devil family. That is what isn't adding up to me." Ajuka hummed as with his great mind, he went over countless different scenarios in his head. And he could only come to one conclusion. "I am sorry to say this… But I honestly think, Itachi here is meant to be… our extinction." Ajuka concluded, and everyone looked absolutely shocked and outraged.
"Ajuka, we don't know that." Sirzechs put his hand onto his friend's shoulder.
"Yeah, how can you even suggest something like that? Pardon my words, Ajuka-sama… but what the fuck are you thinking?!" Rias questioned in outrage. A sentiment shared by many.
"Like I said, I am sorry. But this is the only logical conclusion I can reach. Why else would a God, make someone like Itachi, to be reincarnated as a Devil? It's no secret, that prior to these recent peace talks, the God's haven't thought that highly of us. And that is unlikely to change in the near future. So do tell me, what other reason do you think it could be?" Ajuka asked, and the room went silent.
"… Ajuka-sama does have a point." Itachi, the one who was sort of being accused. He of all people agreed with the Beelzebub's statement. "It is a logical conclusion to reach… And seeing as how I have a history of massacring my own people, I can understand why a God would assume I would be the perfect candidate for such a mission."
"Itachi, but you know… we know you won't ever do such a thing again. I mean, you said it to Sasuke yourself that it was a mistake, and-" Sirzechs put a reassuring hand on Itachi's shoulder, he knew Itachi wouldn't do such a thing, not again.
"Look, I am not saying he would do it again either. I am just saying, that this may be the original reason, this Unseen One resurrected Itachi in the first place." Ajuka suggested.
"… Sirzechs-sama, I myself know, that I would never think of committing such an act again willingly. But I am not such a fool that I don't believe manipulation is impossible. Or even mind control. The danger about Ajuka-sama's theory here, is not what my intentions are. It is what the Unseen One is capable of doing, we don't know who he is, or what his abilities are outside of resurrecting the dead." Itachi like Ajuka, saw the logical possibilities of such a situation. For all they knew, the Unseen One wasn't counting on Itachi's willingness or cooperation on this. Rather he may have planted a seed that would take control of Itachi one day, and force him to commit another massacre.
"Well, what do we do?" Serena went to hug her son, holding him tight now out of fear that something would happen.
"Ajuka-chan! Can't you maybe scan It-tan's brain and see if you find anything?" Serafall suggested and hope seemed to be reignited within the group.
"I am afraid I can't. Our technology wouldn't be able to detect such things. If a God has done something to Itachi's mind… only that God would know about it. Meaning, we would need to find the Unseen One, subdue him and force him to tell us what we want to know." Ajuka's rejection of the idea, didn't diminish their hope, instead, the spark remained.
"Then we find him." Harry declared, as he and the Sins looked ready to go.
"We find him, and make him squeal." Damian cracked his knuckles.
"I could use my abilities to force the information out of him… probably." Raven suggested.
"God or not, I won't let anyone use my brother ever again." Sona declared with a fiery passion.
"… Heh, you kids make it all sound so easy." Azazel chuckled, he had to admire their enthusiasm. Something the more mature devils, the Governor of Fallen Angels, and the former Valkyrie didn't share.
"Yeah, I mean come on? What's the problem? Itachi beat one God already, right?" Issei said encouragingly.
"And he is much stronger than he was back then." Kiba agreed.
The former Valkyrie however, was quick to rebuttal their statements. "Do you fools even understand how powerful a God is? Loki was by no means weak, but he is still just the tip of the iceberg!" Rossweisse tried to make them all see sense.
"Yeah, and for a God to be capable of resurrection. It must be a God amongst at least the Top 40 or 30, and if it is higher than that… Well, to put it mildly, we're fucked." Azazel in all his brutal honesty revealed. The sheer feeling of the despair in Azazel's voice at just the thought, had the whole room go silent. Azazel sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose, he needed to make them understand the situation. "Sirzechs and Ajuka here, are the strongest in this room. And there are Gods even they cannot defeat. Honestly, there are three confirmed Gods that even Sirzechs here at his best cannot defeat. The Hindu God of Creation Brahma, the Hindu God of Destruction Shiva, and the Norse God of Thunder Thor. Then there are the rest of the Top 10, who all would give Sirzechs here a run for his money. And given the right circumstances, even beat him." Azazel's explanation seemed to have done its job, as the look on the youngsters faces went from hopeful to grim, and uncertainty.
Although he understood the situation himself, Itachi still didn't seem discouraged when he asked Azazel this. "On this Top strongest Beings in the World list… Where would you say I rank now?" Itachi wanted to know what he would be up against. The more knowledge he had, the better.
Azazel found the question a bit humorous, as he snorted out a laugh. "Heh, well… it all depends on what you are capable of either creating, or destroying." Azazel chuckled and Itachi just looked with a confused raised brow. "You see, the Top Strongest Beings list, isn't really a ranking list as much as it is a tier list. For, you see… in the Top 10 Strongest list, we have way more than just 10 beings. That is because, they are ranked on what they are capable of destroying and creating. I mean, if these beings actually fought, it would be too catastrophic for the entire multiverse. So, the list was made roughly placing these entities on their capability of destruction and creation and fighting prowess. The Top 10, is a list of beings we know are capable of destroying multiverses. Like Sirzechs here. Although, those that currently hold the number 1 spot, might be capable of way more than that." Azazel pointed out, and just like that many in the room looked at Sirzechs with a newfound admiration. And a newfound fear in the likes of Ophis and Great Red was found.
"Ahaha, I tend to hold back as much as I can…" Sirzechs nervously scratched his cheek.
"I mean, what did you expect? There are Gods on this list, and they are said to have created the multiverse." Azazel chuckled at seeing some of the shocked looks all around. "Anyway, the Top 20 are for those capable of destroying a single universe or two or three. Like Ajuka here who is on that list. And trust me, that list again has way more than just 10 people." Now they looked at the Beelzebub with admiration, who didn't seem as modest as Sirzechs and merely gave a shrug and a knowing smirk. "Anyway, Top 30 capable of destroying multiple galaxies. Top 40, capable of destroying giant stars and several solar systems. Top 50, stars. Top 60, dwarf stars or gas giant planets. Top 70, planets. Loki, was capable of destroying a planet, maybe even a small dwarf star. And, he also only lost to Itachi due to the fact he had already fought Vali, Tannin, Issei, myself, Rossweisse and Baraqiel previously. And Susano'o gave him an injury. That and Loki was overconfident, and Itachi surprised him by having a Divine weapon which is the only type of weapon, capable of hurting or killing a God and halt their regeneration powers. So, with that in mind, and that Itachi effortlessly destroyed a meteorite at half the size of Earth's moon during the fight. I would say Itachi currently maybe ranks around Top 80 or 90 range, who knows maybe even higher. Like me and Serafall here, he is in the double-digit range anyway and stronger than us. The rest of you guys, some may be near double-digit range…" Azazel said as he looked at Harry, Esdeath, Grayfia. "The rest of you, are either in triple-digit range, and a few maybe in the four-digit range. And well, lower…" Azazel finished as he lastly looked at Asia, Reya, Gasper and Momo.
"Wait, if this is true… then how come Sirzechs when he and I fought Ophis during the Diodora thing, didn't destroy the Underworld?" Harry questioned, especially seeing as Sirzechs was in his True Form at the time.
"Because, Ophis and Sirzechs held back. And Odin cast a protection spell, on top of Ajuka's already existing protective barrier around the Underworld so things were able to hold themselves together." Azazel revealed, and although it made sense, why Ophis held back didn't really.
"Wait, why would Ophis hold back?" Rias asked, and it was a good question that had many scratching their heads with uncertainty. Even Azazel didn't seem like he had a good answer. So, he told them simply what he knew to be factual.
"… Think of the Dragon God what you like. Even if what Ophis desires is the silence of the Dimensional Gap. Ophis would never destroy the multiverse, especially the core worlds. No one really knows the reasoning behind it, but Ophis has never sought to destroy, especially not the core worlds. I mean, if Ophis did destroy everything, it would all become like the Dimensional Gap. An empty void of silence, and well, although we don't know for certain what Ophis' full destructive capability is… We know that if Ophis fought Sirzechs here, who can destroy multiverses at his peak power, would get absolutely obliterated in the face of Ophis' infinite strength."
At this Sirzechs sweat dropped and seemed to sulk a bit that Azazel so easily deemed for Sirzechs to get obliterated by Ophis. Even though Sirzechs himself knew he could never defeat Ophis. "Well, I would like to imagine I would put up a fight… At least a little."
Azazel, and everyone else ignored the sulking Sirzechs as Azazel continued with his explanation. "Anyway, so we know Ophis is potentially capable of destroying, well, everything. And yet, Ophis for some reason that we do not know… Doesn't. Even if it meant she would get her wish to obtain the silence. It is honestly a mystery to us." Azazel answered the question with an essentially solid "I don't know", although this had Itachi a bit intrigued as there seemed to be more to the Dragon God that meets the eye. Although he wasn't in a rush to find out exactly what.
As for Itachi's reaction to hearing of the Unseen One, was one of uncertainty. Looking at the phone strap with the Uchiha insignia Raven was given, Itachi could only think. 'What is he after? Does he truly want to use me to kill the Devils?' Itachi contemplates it, recalling his first and only meeting with the Unseen One. To Itachi, the hooded being didn't come off as particular malicious, rather unfeeling, unsympathetic, seeing as the Unseen One didn't care about all the lives Itachi had taken in his past life when reincarnating him. To Itachi, the Unseen One could possibly be a neutral entity, perhaps a true neutral character who didn't care for common sense of law or the chaotic elements in the multiverse. But did that really mean he wasn't capable of planning the extinction of the Devils? Itachi couldn't answer that with certainty. For now, the best course of action, would be to find the Unseen One and ask him these questions.
Raven then had to reveal something else. Something she was slightly dreading. "There is something else… back when Itachi was stuck in Dimension Lost fighting the Hero Faction members. I tried to locate him through our bond… Instead, my mind was pulled elsewhere and I saw an image, of my father Trigon and Kokabiel of all people."
"Kokabiel?" At this Azazel in particular looked interested.
"Yeah, we haven't seen him since I beat him up…" Bob mentioned, he actually had wondered what became of the warmonger.
"What did you see?" Grayfia asked with a sense of urgency.
"They… were standing in a crater filled wasteland. Surrounded by darkness, it was hard to tell. My father wasn't there in person, but his spirit loomed over Kokabiel like a shadow. Without a doubt, my father is the reason for his escape. My father might be using Kokabiel to plot an escape from Purgatory." At Raven revealing this, Esdeath quickly marched up to her with a demanding look in her eye.
"Meditate, and try and find them, now." Esdeath demanded.
"I-I can't… If my psyche interacts with my father, he might take over, and then he will win either way by making me open the gate to Purgatory." At this, Esdeath seemed to calm down somewhat and backed away.
"A crater filled wasteland you say? Could be anywhere." Azazel shrugged, for all he knew Kokabiel had chosen an old battlefield to hide in.
"Well, we'll find him… We have to." Sirzechs sighed as there was one thing after the other.
Itachi was really bothered by this situation. Mumbling to himself. "I should have killed Kokabiel back at his castle after the Raynare incident."
"Okay, so on top of Khaos Brigade, the Old Maou Faction, the Hero Faction, the Unseen One… Now we also have Kokabiel and Trigon to worry about." Ajuka rubbed the bridge of his nose, as things were starting to just pile up.
"Actually, there is one more thing…" As Itachi said that, Ajuka groaned loudly and practically screamed comedically "Come on!" As Ajuka took a few deep breaths to calm himself. Itachi sighed, he hated to put more workload on the Four Maou's shoulders, but this had to be said. "When I fought the Hero Faction, they had a large abundance of Pheonix tears to heal themselves with. The amount they had, couldn't have come from the black market. Someone, in the Phenex family is a potential traitor and a supplier of Pheonix tears to Khaos Brigade." Itachi sounded firm in his conclusion, there was no one else capable of supplying that many bottles of Pheonix tears to a terrorist group like the Hero Faction.
"That is very troubling news…" Sirzechs felt a headache coming in.
"I will investigate it, along with my personal police force." General Esdeath declared, she herself would investigate this potential traitor, as well trying to locate Kokabiel.
"We could help-" Itachi suggested but Esdeath quickly shut them down.
"No. You already have a job. To protect your territory. Even though personally, I would love to have you on the frontlines, young master. Lady Serafall would kill me before I could allow that to happen." Esdeath jokingly said as she lightly patted Itachi on the cheek.
"This is an investigation though, no? If you need anything, at least contact me. Me, Rias and Sona can be of great help. We… know Ravel Phenex quite well and might be able to persuade her to help us. Even her brother Raiser should be cooperative with us. And as my past can confirm, I am an excellent spy." Itachi added and Esdeath seemed to warm up to the idea. She had been thoroughly impressed by some of Itachi's work in his previous life, to the point where she looked at him in a new light.
'Heh, if only Behemoth had lived long enough to learn your truth…' Esdeath internally sighed, in her own way still mourning the loss of her comrade. Whenever she looked at Itachi now, she would be reminded of the old hunchbacked Behemoth saying something along the line. "Young master Itachi, is destined for greatness." Esdeath would never openly admit it, but she missed the old man. Perhaps that is why she relented to Itachi now. "Mmm, alright, I will contact you when I need you." Esdeath also had to admit, she quite liked the boldness Itachi was showing right now. Reminded her more of her lost love Tatsumi.
With this, the discussions went on for a bit longer. Uncovering the identity of the Unseen One, finding Kokabiel and Trigon were amongst the highest of priority. So were dealing with Khaos Brigade and the Hero Faction. And lastly, uncovering this potential traitor in the Phenex family.
As most were ready to move on with their lives, people were starting to say their goodbyes for now. First, was Sirzechs Lucifer who was being urged by Grayfia to return to his duties. "Anyway, Itachi… I'm happy for you." Sirzechs pulled Itachi in for a quick embrace, patting the young man on his back. "I'm glad you were able to overcome your fears, and confined in us about your past."
"Yes, and unintentionally, you have given us more theories to work on. We'll have to look more into this Unseen One." Ajuka added sounding like he was moping a bit. Ajuka, Sirzechs, Grayfia, Venelana and Zeoticus made their exit. But not before, both Grayfia and Venelana could give Itachi a quick hug. With Venelana even giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Please continue to take care of Rias for me sweetie." Venelana giggled at Itachi's slight flustered reaction.
"Y-Yes, lady Venelana…"
Sairaorg was next to make his leave, he bumped fists with Itachi before leaving. "Your manly story indeed touched my soul! I am even more fired up for our upcoming rematch!" Sairaorg passionately declared, as he made his way to resume training with his peerage.
"Good luck to you." Itachi gave a light chuckle, finding Sairaorg's positive attitude to be contagious.
Next was Itachi's own family, his father and mother had to continue their duties back home, and so did Serafall. "No! I won't go! I won't!" Serafall held onto Itachi for dear life, as did Serena while both Esdeath and Malphas tried to pull them away.
"You have important documents to sign!" Esdeath grinded through her teeth as she pulled Serafall harder.
"Fuck those documents! It-tan needs me!"
"I won't leave my baby boy!" Serena like her oldest daughter cried.
"I don't want to go either, but we have a meeting at one of our hospitals!" Malphas struggled to pull his wife away from their son.
"Mother… nee-san, please don't ignore your duties." Itachi tried to pry them loose, but the motherly instincts of his mother, and the over protectiveness of his sister were not to be underestimated.
Watching with light giggles and smiles at seeing Itachi struggle getting out of his mother and older sister's grasp. Akeno, Kuroka, Koneko and Rias stood together, watching warmly at the scene before them. Finding ease in their hearts that after all Itachi has been through, he had moments like this now in his life.
Kuroka's face looked flustered and warm, as she gazed at Itachi with a new sense of admiration. "Knowing that he tried to save me from ending up like him… Knowing truly how much he understood… Made me fall for him all over again." Kuroka bit her lower lip a little, struggling not to pounce on Itachi like a feline in heat.
Koneko briefly gave her sister the stink eye, ready to restrain her if needed. But then with a look of worry, she looked at Itachi. "But still, I am worried, Itachi-senpai might be in danger because of that Unseen One." Koneko clenched her fists hard, thinking of all the Uchiha brothers went through due to the manipulation of someone like Danzo and that masked Madara. "I will protect senpai…" Koneko mumbled, determined not to let history repeat itself for Itachi.
"Yeah, but am I the only one who thought he looked sexy in that Akatsuki cloak? His face also looked older and more distinguished…" Akeno tried to lift up the mood, and it seemed to work as both the nekomata sisters blushed thinking how Itachi's face would subtly grow in a few years. "Right, Rias?" Akeno looked to her master, although Rias seemed totally out of it. She hadn't really said much outside of hugging and crying into Itachi's shoulder after everything. "Rias?"
Rias looked to be in deep thought, flashing images of what she had just seen from Itachi's memories. Although from a different perspective. Distorted images of a young Itachi carrying a baby Sasuke reaching his arm out to her, whilst ferocious monstrous roars echoed around them. The distorted image flickered and changed, into Itachi in the forest against the demonic wolf back when they were children. And then flickered back into the scene of Itachi holding baby Sasuke. Another image of Itachi in his late teenage years, embracing Rias after the Trigon attack. Distorting and changing into Itachi holding her whilst dressed in his ANBU gear on a quiet night. 'Konoha… Uchiha clan… Hokage… Kyuubi… Sasuke… Izumi… Why, how did I know what was going to happen?' Rias realized something was wrong here, but what exactly? Rias had a strained look on her face, her blue eyes turning red and flickering back to their regular color of blue. Rias clutched her hand onto her forehead feeling a migraine coming in. Before she could make sense of what was happening to her, Rias was snapped out of her thoughts as Akeno clasped her hand onto Rias' shoulder. "Ah, yes Akeno?"
"Are you alright Rias? You seem a bit pale…" Akeno sounded worried checking Rias' temperature by placing their foreheads against each other. "Well, you don't have a fever… Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine… just thinking about everything." Rias brushed Akeno off with a carefree smile, and returned to looking at Itachi who seemed to have managed to pry Serafall and Serena off him. As the weeping mother and daughter duo were being dragged away by Malphas and Esdeath. "Everything… is fine." Rias' vision became a bit blurry, as she shed tears of great sadness from merely looking at Itachi. A sense of relief filling her heart in that Itachi was able to overcome his past.
Time passed, days went by, and Itachi was feeling light as a feather after having told his backstory to everyone he cared about. He felt liberated, and relieved that none ended up hating him for his choices. His feeling of guilt having been washed away, the hands of the past no longer clinging onto him and having been put to rest. A well-earned rest.
Even days after, things still went like usual, Itachi kept to his schedule of school as well as training. This time training with Raven, trying to master Domain Expansion. He had originally learned how to use it from Behemoth. And Itachi back during his training days, had succeeded in creating a small room dimension the size of a normal bedroom. With that lesson, Behemoth had originally deemed Itachi's training to be complete. But with the passing of his master, and encountering a Sacred Gear like Dimension Lost, Itachi had considered necessary to fully master the technique.
"Well, you have a basic understanding of how it works…" Raven commented as she inspected the room. Noting there was a simple futon bed and a few books laying around. "You hide in here often?"
"… No, I have only used this room to study in. Hardly even slept on the futon." Itachi replied, and Raven scoffed with a light smirk on her face. With a flick of her finger, her domain overtook and suddenly they were floating in space. Itachi looked in awe seeing stars, and colorful nebulas around him, as well as planets. "Now this is impressive."
"Usually, I only come in here when I feel dad's influence taking over…" Raven points out as around them were floating debris of what used to be planets. Without a doubt, having been destroyed by Raven in her rampage. "The purpose of Domain Expansion originally was creation… Gods used it to make universes, Godly realms. Now, it is also used to create battlegrounds. For us in the future it will be very useful, to avoid any damage to civilian areas."
"Indeed… Whenever a new big threat appears, we have a way of not holding back now and not fear collateral damage." The space around them retracted, and suddenly they were back in the underground training area of the mansion. "I still need some practice… same time tomorrow?"
"Works for me…" Raven didn't want to be selfish, but a part of her wanted some form of affection right about now. She didn't want to say anything however, fearing she would maybe get too embarrassed and have her powers act out.
"It's a date then." Itachi put his hand on Raven's shoulder, and leaned in for a quick kiss. Taking in the soft sensation of Raven's lips, and the sweet taste of her lip-gloss. As he pulled back, Itachi looked with an amused smile at seeing Raven's astonished flushed red face. "You know, your eyes give away your feelings at times." Itachi gave a knowing smirk that had Raven's blush deepen. Ever since he had revealed his backstory to everyone, and felt his burden having been lifted, Itachi had allowed himself to be more open and affectionate with the others.
"Mmm…" Raven groaned and hid her face within her hood. "Later…" Raven mumbled and vanished in a magic circle, as she would die of embarrassment if Itachi saw her face now. Whilst also fighting back the urge to squeal like a school girl.
(Warning, spicy lime incoming. You have been warned)
After a long day, Itachi went to his room ready for bed. Although as he entered his room, he noticed a surprise waiting for him on the bed. Rias sat on his bed, hugging her knees as she looked at him with a pouty face, dressed in black lingerie. "Mm, what took you so long?" Rias pouted and stared intently at him. "Why are your lips so shiny?" Rias pointed out.
"Huh?" Itachi brushed his fingers to his lips, some of Raven's lip-gloss must have left a mark. Itachi blinked a few times and sweat dropped. Rias seemed jealous. "I… umm…" Itachi was genuinely at a loss for words. He didn't regret kissing Raven, but he blamed his devil biology for making him be this affectionate with women in his life. Well, that and it felt nice.
"Pfft…" Rias snorted out a chuckle, near tears she struggled to hold back her laughter. Itachi looked with a deadpan expression as the situation became clear. "You should have seen your face. You looked like you had been caught with your pants down." Rias muffled her giggles.
"Hn…" Itachi's cheeks turned slight red, as his social awkwardness made him near mute for a rebuttal.
"Aww, don't be like that…" Rias looked at him with wide sparkly eyes, squeezing her arms around her chest pushing her boobs together as pouted a little. "Don't be mad at me~"
"Hn…" Itachi wordlessly sat down onto the bed, as Rias hugged him from behind and kissed his neck. How was it he could be bold in these type of situations with Raven, but with Rias he turned to mush?
"Come on~" Rias lightly moaned and gently breathed into his ear, making Itachi slightly jolt a bit. "Don't be mad at me baby… I will be a good girl, I promise~" Rias said as she unhooked her bra, and her bare soft boobs and perky nipples pressed against Itachi's back.
"… Good girl huh?" Itachi looked with a raised brow, his boldness returned as he turned around and pinned Rias to the bed. "Do good girls sneak into a man's room dressed like this?" Itachi's sudden dominating tone, had Rias' face turn red like her hair. "I think not…" Itachi placed his lips onto Rias', who muffled out a light moan as Itachi pushed his knee against her groin. Kissing her neck next, Rias let out soft moans as Itachi hit a sensitive spot. Itachi continued to work his way down, softly kissing her neck, shoulders and her breasts. Grabbing a handful of her boob, Itachi began gently kneading his hand into Rias' breast, the soft flesh of her boob spilling out between his fingers. Whilst his knee continued to push up against, her now wet groin as she was practically dry humping his knee.
"You are right… I've been so bad~" Rias surprised Itachi next, tearing his shirt open. "And I have wanted this for so long." Rias felt her hands against Itachi's pecs, moving downwards until she hit his washboard abs. Rias reached for Itachi's lower belt area, feeling something hard trying to break through. Rias panted, breathing heavily as she stared into Itachi's eyes while unbuckling his belt. While Itachi sucks on her nipple, with his hand gently tracing down Rias' stomach, and down to her nether regions where he rubbed his fingers against her crotch.
Itachi twirls his tongue around Rias' nipple, hearing her heavy breathing he looks up and stares into her eyes. "I love you…" Rias speaks in between heavy breaths.
"I love you too." Itachi goes in for a kiss, Rias putting her arms around his neck. Itachi sits up, and places Rias' soft behind onto his lap. They continue to embrace, as they suck each other's faces. The sounds of slurping as Rias sucks on Itachi's tongue, her hands on his upper back holding on firmly. Rias starts grinding her hips against Itachi's groin, whilst continuing their intense make out session.
Despite this intense passion, Rias was rather nervous. Her heart rate skyrocketing even. This would be her first time after all. "You want this?" Rias asked as she broke the kiss.
"How could I not? Just look at you… You are… well, beautiful." Itachi felt a bit awkward saying this, this was still not his area of expertise after all. He just mostly followed what his raw animalistic instincts were telling him.
"Not to mention that hot piece of ass." The longing sigh of Akeno came from behind Rias, and the couple jolted in surprise. Both having been so caught up in their act of passion they hadn't even noticed Akeno entering the room.
"A-Akeno… I thought you were out with your father." Rias said sounding surprised, clearly having tried her best to arrange for her and Itachi to be alone.
"I was, and now I am hurt. I come home to seeing you two have so much fun." Akeno removed her blouse, and unhooked her bra, pressing her slightly bigger chest against Rias' upper back as she hugged her from behind. "How envious… let me play too~" Akeno nibbled at Rias' earlobe causing the Gremory princess to moan lightly.
"A-Akeno… stop it…" Rias moaned even more as Akeno began kissing her neck. Her arms wrapped around Rias, with her fingers gently going down to Rias' stomach and down to her groin. "Ara, ara, a thong, my how daring we are today…" Akeno moved the thong aside, exposing Rias' smooth-shaven pussy. "Ara, ara, someone was trying to go all the way today~" Akeno moved her fingers around Rias' already wet labia, and gently tickling against her clit. "She makes such sexy noises, doesn't she Itachi?"
Itachi had a deadpan expression, as suddenly something big and hard had poked through his boxers and standing at full salute. "Hn…" Itachi was once again at a loss for words, his eyes fixated on Akeno playing around with Rias' pussy, whilst Rias sat on his lap. And Rias' chest bouncing up and down from her squirming at Akeno's touch. Rias bit her lower lip, as she saw Itachi's rock-hard manhood poke into her stomach. Rias then put her lips on Itachi's, as Akeno continued to play around with her, and kiss Rias' neck.
'I don't care anymore… I feel so good…' Rias thought as her tongue was twirling around the inside of Itachi's mouth. 'My brain feels like it is melting… I can't think straight.' Rias moaned, as Itachi had begun sucking on her tongue. "More… kwish me moarh…" Her speech incoherent.
"Ara, ara… such a naughty girl." Akeno pulled her fingers up, seeing they were wet and sticky. "Mmm~" Akeno sucked on her fingers covered in Rias' juices. "You taste so good, Rias. But this naughty boy needs some attention as well~"
A soft gentle hand grabbed onto the shaft of Itachi's manhood, and began stroking it up and down. "Don't worry, I got it~" A naked Kuroka hugged Itachi from behind, her bare soft boobs pressed firmly onto his back. "Captain, you meanie~" Kuroka licked Itachi's ear, and softly whispered to him. "Having fun without me~"
Sandwiched between three beautiful women, Itachi was unsure on how to proceed. His research hadn't prepared him for this. But in hindsight, he should have seen this coming. "This is escalating more than I had expected…" Itachi said putting a slight pause on the situation. "My research didn't prepare me for this…"
At this the three girls collectively snorted out a giggle at the idea of what kind of "research" Itachi did. Causing them to imagine him being all serious looking, while taking notes when conducting said "research" and treating it like some form of training. "You mean you watched some porn to prepare yourself?" Kuroka teasingly whispered into his air as she stroked his shaft, this nekomata was in full heat. "Getting yourself off thinking of doing those things to us? Naughty captain~" Kuroka licked Itachi's neck.
"I-It's just… I never imagined myself in such a… polygamous relationship." Itachi awkwardly mumbled trying to resist a grunt from the constant stimulation by Kuroka rubbing her body against his back, and Rias on his front.
"Harem." Kuroka corrects causing Itachi to roll his eyes.
"Well, yes that… I never saw myself as that kind of person."
Rias having calmed herself down a bit from Akeno's teasing and stimulating her body. Her face still a bit flushed and hot, as Itachi's hot rod was pulsing against her stomach. "You mean the kind of guy to charm many women? I seem to recall someone being mister popular without even trying in his academy days." Rias teasingly reminded Itachi of his ninja academy days.
Itachi cringes a bit from Rias' wording. "I don't… really see myself as being that charming." He was a socially awkward person, with a dry sense of humor.
Akeno hums and leans in to kiss Itachi, whilst still playing with Rias' body causing the Gremory princess to pout that Akeno was doing whatever she pleased. "Well, you are just such a loveable guy." Akeno pointed out. "And really helpful whenever we are in a pinch, acting like a dark knight here to save your princesses." At this description both Rias and Kuroka seem to swoon in agreement.
"I totally get that. He is so helpful in a pinch~" Rias enthusiastically added to the conversation.
"Yeah, so strong and brave~" Kuroka added, as they all began singing Itachi's praise. Much to Itachi's embarrassment as he lightly blushes.
Rias giggles at seeing Itachi's blushing face, clearly not sure how to accept all this praise. "And not to mention he is so cute~" Rias poked his nose, then she leaned into Itachi, resting her head on his shoulder and held their naked bodies tightly together.
'Okay, in these type of situations… I believe Damian said I should say something similar to the girls… The key, is confidence.' Itachi mentally had to prepare himself for this, this was uncharted territory for him. "I feel like that is something I should tell you. Umm, my lovely cuties…" Itachi awkwardly mumbles, he failed, and the three girls looked with wide eyes for a moment before breaking off into a giggle fit.
"Aww, you are so adorable for trying." Rias in-between giggles tried to cheer him up. Itachi groaned and was actually pouting as they continued to tease him. 'I'm going to kill Damian…' Itachi twitched his brow as the giggling girls around him continued to tease him.
"But also, so very handsome…" Akeno added, moving herself to Itachi's right side, and Kuroka moved to his left. Akeno began softly kissing Itachi's body, as did Kuroka.
"So hot~" Kuroka purred as she kissed his pecs.
"Manly~" Rias placed her lips onto Itachi's. The three girls pushed Itachi down onto the bed, and then the three of them laid on top of him, showering his bare upper body with their soft kisses. Rias got off Itachi and laid next to him, placing his hand against her groin as she began lightly humping him. Itachi felt his fingers brush against her wet entrance. Remembering his research, he began moving his fingers alongside Rias' labia lightly teasing her first which seemed to work as she let out muffled moans.
Akeno began kissing Itachi's pecs, and moved down licking her tongue against his washboard abs and down, until she laid comfortably before Itachi's erect manhood. "Hehe, so eager~" Akeno sandwiched Itachi's dick between her soft bouncy boobs, and placing her lips onto the head of his penis. Her tongue lightly twirling around the head, Akeno liked to tease her partners. Gently blowing her hot breath against the back of the head, lightly giggling as she saw it twitch.
"Captain~" Kuroka stood on her knees over Itachi's face. Kuroka looked with a mischievous glance, as she slowly moved her hand down towards her pussy, and with her fingers she spread her lips. Itachi gulped a bit, seeing Kuroka's pink, hot and damp pussy before his face. "Do me this time~" Kuroka slowly sat onto Itachi's face, lightly humping back and forth, feeling the tip of Itachi's nose brush against her crotch, whilst his tongue began to move. "Nya~" Kuroka moaned, and began breathing heavily. "He is doing the alphabet with his tongue~" Kuroka lightly giggled and continued to breath very heavily, and bite her lower lip.
Rias was sitting on Itachi's hand, two of his fingers already inside her as she moved her hips back and forth. 'Itachi's touch… is so much rougher compared to Akeno's gentle and ticklish touch… But the size of his fingers… are thicker, making it more pleasurable…' Rias moaned as she sped up. "More~ Give me another finger~" Rias moaned as Itachi inserted a third finger. "Yes, that feels so good~"
Akeno with her lips around the head of Itachi's manhood, begins bobbing her head up and down, whilst also moving her soft breasts around his shaft. A bulge was forming in Akeno's cheek as she began slurping. Itachi couldn't let out a sound, as his tongue hit a certain spot in Kuroka that had her go wild. Wrapping her meaty thighs around his head, she firmly held onto his hair. "Nya~ Ah~ Ah~ I feel so good… I wuv you… capn'…" Her speech getting incoherent, as Kuroka had her tongue sticking out, and her eyes rolled backwards as Itachi's tongue hit her clit. "Yes… yes… yes… yes!" Kuroka held Itachi's head firmly in place, as he was working for his dear life so Kuroka would release him and he could breathe again. "Mm!" Kuroka bit her lower lip, her hips quacking as something squirted into Itachi's face.
"I-I'm… gonna, cum~"! Rias squealed, her hips quaking, having drenched Itachi's hand in her juices. Her eyes filled with lust, as she was breathing heavily, clearly not done yet.
Akeno giggles, getting great pleasure from seeing such a stupid expression on Rias' face. She looked at Itachi, as Kuroka lifted herself off from Itachi's face, falling onto bed nuzzling up next to him taking a quick rest before the next round. Itachi was inhaled a lot of air, his face drenched in Kuroka's juices. "Time to finish you off~" Akeno giggles, having waited until she could see Itachi's face, making sure to make eye contact as she began licking the back of his manhood's head. Hitting a very sensitive spot, Akeno had Itachi groan as without warning he ended up spraying her face and breasts with cum.
Akeno looked ecstatic, watching as Itachi's dick began pumping out white thick liquid. "Good boy~" Akeno used her hand to gather most of Itachi's cum into her mouth, looking at him with a seductive glance as she gulped some of it down. Giving him a mischievous grin and a light giggle, Itachi collapsed onto the bed still trying to catch his breath. Akeno looks to Rias, who seems to be very focused on the remains of Itachi's cum sprayed on Akeno's body. "Want a tawste?" Akeno incoherently asked with her mouth still full of Itachi's cum.
Rias faintly blushes, and doesn't say anything, her eyes going back and forth to Akeno, who enjoyed seeing her flustered. Akeno crawled over to Rias, seating herself higher she held Rias' face by her cheeks and had her look up. Making sure Itachi was looking, Akeno signaled for Rias to open her mouth.
Shakingly, and with a flustered red face Rias opened her mouth and slightly stuck her tongue out. Shakingly awaiting in anticipation. Akeno giggled at seeing Rias' flustered expression and wide shining blue eyes. Akeno lightly opened her mouth enough for Itachi to see some of his cum starting to leak out. Akeno then leaned her head in, and placed her lips onto Rias'. "Mm!" Rias lightly moaned and closed her eyes, as Akeno puts her cum covered tongue into Rias' mouth. Twirling her tongue around inside, as she swaps the cum into Rias' mouth.
Seeing this, Itachi with a deadpan expression found his manhood suddenly standing back in full salute. Itachi could see Rias' cheeks bulge as Akeno's tongue swirled inside her mouth. Akeno breaks the kiss, a sticky trail of cum and saliva connected between their two tongues. Akeno giggled as she saw Rias' mouth filled with Itachi's cum.
Whilst Rias and Akeno had been caught up in their make out session, Kuroka had made her move and was placing herself over Itachi's erect manhood. "Captain… Enough foreplay, yeah? I have itch I was hoping you could scratch~" Kuroka began lowering her hips, the head of Itachi's dick about to fully penetrate her.
"H-Hey! Sthop!" The mouth filled Rias voiced an objection to Kuroka. "What arwe you doin?"
Kuroka looks at Rias with a sweat drop. "You really asking me that with your mouth filled with cum?"
Rias with her puffed cheeks, swallows Itachi's cum. And pants showing her tongue to Itachi whilst giving a seductive glare. "I will be his first~" Rias said in a seductive, and demanding tone. Even as Akeno continues to kiss Rias' neck, having gone into full sexual overdrive.
"Why should you be his first?! I am his Queen. I will be his first!" Kuroka argued.
"He is my fiancé!" Rias threw back her own argument, as she pushed a pouting Akeno off whilst she continued to argue with Kuroka over who got to take Itachi's V-Card, and in return, have Itachi also take one of theirs.
Akeno looked lonely, pouting as Rias wasn't giving her any more attention. But as the other two girls argued, Akeno got a mischievous smirk as she eyed Itachi's fully erect manhood. "You want more attention, don't you, you naughty big boy~" Akeno whispered as she crawled on the bed over to Itachi's erect manhood.
Itachi remained silent, unsure on what to say to solve the situation. Before he could say a word to Rias and Kuroka who were arguing over him. He felt Akeno grab ahold of his erect dick. Akeno wanting to sedate her sexual urges, positions herself over Itachi's manhood and pushes its head against her labia.
But it didn't go undiscovered. "H-Hey stop it!" Rias practically had to push Akeno off. "I already said, I am going to be Itachi's first!"
"Eh?" Akeno again pouted, as she began pleasuring herself trying to keep the mood going. "But I feel so hot down here, Rias. I need someone to cool it down. And I need that big, long, thick, firehose~"
"What about me, I need it too!" Kuroka argued.
"Well, I do too!" Rias threw back and continued with saying. "I am his fiancé, my pride as a woman demands me to be his first!"
"Well as his mistress I just want to steal his first from you no matter what~" Akeno shamelessly declared causing something in Rias to crack. The mood had passed, and the three girls continued to argue over him.
All whilst Itachi laid there with a sweat drop and a deadpan facial expression. 'This is really going to be a thing, huh?' Internally he sighs. And in the end, Itachi just ends up falling asleep.
That's the end for now!
This was a long chapter, and it had been a long time coming. At first it was just supposed to be about Itachi's past reveal. But I saw the opportunity to include some lore building and decided to add it as well. Naturally with Itachi's backstory there were certain bits that needed to be cut short. I decided to include some of the important bits that establish Itachi's relationship with certain characters. And how he grew into the person he became through the lessons of his father, Danzo, and most of all Shisui. All events that happened in the original storyline of Naruto were cut short of course, as I am very sure everyone who reads this story already knows it. The most important part is of course some reactions from those seeing his past.
Other than that, I wanted to establish something about power scaling here. Now of course in canon DxD these characters are nowhere near multiversal. But with this being Fanfiction, and some of these characters being literal Gods, I decided to heavily buff the DxD verse characters. Naturally characters like Raynare would still easily lose to someone like Haku or Zabuza from Naruto. But more powerful characters like Sirzechs Lucifer in this story, can pretty much solo all of Naruto/Boruto verse. If you have any questions, I would be glad to explain more about this through Private messages. Or just leave a review and I will respond to it.
The Sins thoughts on Harry!
Kuroka: He is a prideful old geezer. But he is strong, and Itachi holds him in high regard so I guess I like him as well.
Bob: Makes some kickass burgers, my favorite chef. And is super strong.
Jack: His voice of arrogance and pride soars like an eagle in the sky.
Damian: Is always the first one to scold me, and always the first to be there for me. The old man can be a bit annoyingly overbearing though. Who does he think he is?! My father?!
Eto: Terrifyingly strong. I wonder how he tastes~
Raven: I can sense from his aura. Despite the tough act he is a big softy at heart.
Itachi: He is very strong and loyal. I hold his thoughts on things like battle in high regard. I wish he would be more willing to follow orders every now and then. I value his friendship and trust, and I can tell it is mutual as he has entrusted and confined in me with secrets of his own background.
Anyway, leave a review!
-Later!
(Responds to reviews!)
codywhite162: Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
merendinoemiliano: Thanks!
SolSparda36: The power up was indeed something. And certainly, earned some mixed reactions from people.
velniar341: Well, I can understand your disappointment, but honestly, I always planned on killing off a character for Itachi to unlock the EMS. And the progress of him growing his magical power did play a part, he was already borderline near to unlock it as evident of the Loki fight. Behemoth's death was just the final push over the edge, as well as his self-acceptance. And yes, that would have been cool to see Itachi armor up Yasaka with his Susano'o, but the thing is Itachi needs Perfect Susano'o to do that. Something which he doesn't have right now. And also yes, when Itachi gets Perfect Susano'o it will be different from the Naruto series with its speed affinity. And you were correct to guess Indra teaching the Hero Faction on how to fight the Sharingan. Also, yes Harry can use all forms of Haki.
Mr. Haziq: Eh, the old man version of Itachi is more like a future vision for Itachi. Or how he views what his potential future self might look like. And why Tsukuyomi would want to replace Amaterasu, I mean if you look at Shinto myth ain't no secret that those two don't get along very well lol. Also, too soon, but yes Serafall can potentially get new Rooks in the future.
DarkReaderSeiin: Glad to see you enjoyed it. For the Itachi vs Hero Faction fight I took some inspiration from Meliodas vs the Ten Commandments. Behemoth will be missed, but I still see opportunity for him to appear in flashbacks and such like he did in this chapter. And thanks for all that awesome praise. And yeah, Tsukuyomi and several other Gods have their eyes on Itachi right now. Also, Kiba being more worthy than Siegfried of his demonic swords, is actually something that happens in the actual DxD LN, just in a later arc. But I decided to off Siegfried here so, it happened now.
Kakarotssj: The tampering is more like that The Unseen One, stole energy from the 5 Shinto Gods and actually placed their energy within Itachi. The abilities in Naruto don't really have divine energy, they just share the same name. The tampering essentially buffed up Itachi's EMS abilities with divine energy.
cyrusg1421: Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it. I was very careful in terms of the detail of Itachi first using his EMS abilities, so nice to be acknowledged there.
Guest: No, Itachi does not have the kagetsuchi ability. Even though there is certainly potential for something similar later on, he doesn't have access to such an ability at the moment. And at the moment, I would say Itachi Sitri is roughly evenly matched with Demon Eyes of Fairy Tail Itachi. But yes, without a doubt Itachi Sitri will grow to become miles stronger than his Demon Eyes of Fairy Tail counterpart.
Zekken182: Well, he did explain everything through an illusion. Although if I had started from that point, I feel many would have been too confused something I believe Itachi would want to avoid. Cool concept though.
Dasgun: 00
andresskorskiruiz: Glad you enjoyed it. R.I.P Behemoth. I especially tried to focus on Malphas' reaction when it came to Fugaku Uchiha. And Esdeath when it came to Itachi's life as a soldier. Serafall's issues in regards to what Ophis had said kind of got resolved before the reveal, and after.
Sage of Prophecy: Thanks! And your suggestion is granted, Itachi Sitri is the next update. But after this I am going to have to focus on Demon Eyes of Fairy Tail for a bit lol. And yeah, we should do a small omake, having our story versions of Itachi and Sona meet. Would be some hilarious reactions there.
fallendemon248: Thank you, Behemoth acknowledging the Sins brought his character full circle in my opinion.
Guest: I will agree with you, but in this Fanfiction the DxD characters have gotten a massive significant buff. And also, I will say Naruto characters have better feats that DxD characters. But DxD characters have insane statements that of course we don't see any evidence off. An example is that Issei in his first fight with Vali is stated to move at light speed, but then several volumes later in the LN, Issei can't move fast enough from point A to point B to save someone, making that statement inconsistent. Also, prime Issei in the LN is stated to be able to destroy the world, which of course we don't see proof of. And Ophis is stated to be near invulnerable. But yeah, I would say feat wise, Naruto verse is better than DxD. But due to statements, DxD may actually have the edge mostly because of Ophis and Great Red.
Ainz227: Yeah, the notifications on this site are really bad. But I still get notified on the app whenever I get a review. And it took some time, but finally now the EMS and past reveal are here! I wonder, how frightening do you think I am now after that lime hehehe.
Guest: Eto has gotten a major power boost, yes, but she is still not as strong as Loki just because she ate some of his fingers. She has gotten some of his power, yes, but still not strong enough to match him. Eto and Raven interactions are some of my favorites as well.
Write Your Wrongs: Eh, that is fair enough. I won't disagree with you there.
allen: Here you go! Hope the wait was worth it.
Jxgod: Thank you!
Guest: It's coming out…. Now! Also, glad to hear you like my story.
