Chapter 37 : Missing Senses

Being in the back alley and away from other people made things far more simple on Radara and Thomas then anything else. A group of just thirteen people in the end were all that was waiting behind after a few more grunts came and then nearly half of them all left to do something while the remainder waited for the supervisor to show up. None of them seemed to know anything though, all of them trying to figure out themselves wondering what was going on.

With so few, it was easy for Radara to take a moment to concentrate and then make herself and Thomas just highly ignoreable, much like Mewtwo had done to hide himself. With that done, Thomas and Radara just walked right into the group and none of them seemed to care, only calling out Thomas once to move so that he could get into the back of the truck to check some gear.

It also gave Thomas a nice clean view of the large metal cage that inside the box truck though, each bar hooked up a charging kit, and several large battery packs. The cage was also designed to hold a large quadrupedal pokemon, maybe something as large as an arcanine, or while a bit cramped, possibly Raikou.

Thomas and Radara didn't waste a lot of time though, quickly finding a better vantage point to hide and observe the group in while they waited for the supervisor. Radara even took the chance to get a little creative, and convinced them to just one by one toss their keys into the nearby dumpster while they were all waiting.

Ultimately though, it didn't take too long for a pair of women to come walking up, a different air about them.

"Supervisor Annie... C-Commander Mars." One of the men stated, all of them suddenly quickly standing up fully straight and opening up the back of the truck.

"Listen up boys, we got a rare chance for something tonight. Seems like the chance to avoid taking over a power plant came to us with this whole legendary migration going on." One of the newcomers stated, the one with very red hair that looked like it had a horn styled into it stated.

"One of Johto's legendary pokemon, Raikou the Stormcaller, has been seen in Sinnoh a few times over the last week. Twenty minutes ago, we got a photo of him inside Coral Coast City. We don't know why he is here, only that he seemed to appear on top of Legendary Acquisitions, that gaudy auctioneering office building. He was seen running north, presumably towards the old part of town." The girl with red hair continued.

"We need him alive and not hurt to badly. Gas him first if you can, stun spore, anything that slows him down. We don't have access to a master ball right now, and its doubtful that an ultra ball will work, so we're going to put him in the cage and take him back the long way. Don't injure him severely, we need him for electrical abilities, there are few pokemon who can match the power he is supposed to have, and he has to be able to power some of our other projects. Don't screw this up." The other woman called out before moving up to inspect the box truck with the other woman.

Meanwhile Thomas and Radara were just listening in from behind a large pillar. "Isn't there like an old way shrine just a bit north of here?" Thomas asked, trying to think but unable to feel the world properly. He did just pull out his pokedex though and looked over a map of the city, checking the older parts of town that Coral Coast City expanded from.

'I... I can't feel if there is one. Umm... do you feel like we're under water right now? It... feels heavy right now.' Radara noted, but Thomas shook his head.

"You still feeling Kyorge?" Thomas asked, finding a small shrine dedicated to Kyorge, another shrine dedicated to Palkia, and a third dedicated to Rayquaza. With his senses impaired though, he couldn't feel what sanctuaries would be nearby. Still, the image of the Kyorge shrine was one he knew well, or rather he knew the people who built it. There was a good chance that there was a small sanctuary near by, although he couldn't tell how larger or where exactly at the current moment.

'I feel Samiya... a few hundred feet above us with all of that water weighing down on me.' Radara whined a bit.

"I hope this passes soon. I-i... I feel helpless like this." Thomas noted, Radara giving a nod. "I'm pretty sure there is a sanctuary nearby though, these shrine to Kyorge, the original was built by the nomadic priests who worshiped the moon beside us. They helped us build a lot of the smaller sanctuaries around Japan during the early second age." Thomas noted showing the image to Radara who gave a nod.

"Alright, everything looks good. And remember, expect some company. That kid from the news is expected to show up. We got a tip a few days before the news broadcast that he supposedly has some kind of connection to the legendary pokemon and might interfere with our goals. If you see him, Cyrus wants him alive too. If even half of what that weird broadcast said is true, chances are that he is already nearby and will be wherever Raikou is. Seems like a good chance to get both of these things done at the same time." The first lady, the one with the red hair called out once she stepped out of the truck, and both Thomas and Radara were now suddenly worried.

"They got a tip about us... before the news cast?" Thomas asked again, just looking down to Radara before slowly standing up again, very concerned now.

'Someone wants us in a lot of trouble right now. This clearly rules any chance of that report not being directly about us.' Radara added. Whatever was going on, whoever was behind it, they knew a lot of things that were supposed to be either forgotten or never known in the first place.

"You heard the commander, pack up and mo-" The other woman stated, only for a loud ding to sound and the woman stopped, pulling out her phone. "Move it, double it, now now now!" The woman suddenly started shouted. "We just got a confirmed sighting of Raikou, team seven is tracking him as we speak." The woman shouted and rushed into the box truck along with the woman with red hair.

All at once, everyone else also rushed to a few vehicles as well. A bunch of grunts all quickly started look for their keys though, as Thomas and Radara slowly got up, only for the supposed quick start and rush out of the back lot to never happen. "What's taking so long!" The woman in red hair screamed out.

"Who knicked my keys?" Another man yelled.

"Your keys? What about mine? I don't even have fucking house key." A third voice yelled out before there was massive yelling and screaming all around.

Thomas and Radara were just watching slowly though, Radara peaking into the supervisor's head to try and find out where Raikou was, quickly finding it in the confusion. 'Raikou is north, by those shrines you found. There must be a sanctuary there that he was heading for, but it is a small one. Its one of our unnamed ones, I recall it now. I still can't feel it even though I'm searching for it, but its here close to the city. It used to be well outside the former city that Coral Coast was built up from, so it might be inside the city now.'

"We should get moving then." Thomas noted, only an engine to start, both of them peaking around the corner, and then a second engine.

"Fucking got it!" A male voice called out, only for a man to get kicked out of the box truck.

"Then hot wire the rest and join us quickly you damned fool." The woman with red hair screamed out and took up the driver seat. "You, in the other truck, follow us quickly, we can't keep wasting time... and keep a eye out for that damned kid, he has to be responsible for this."

In a quick flash of light, Radara and Thomas teleported into the back of the other truck, the hard cover over the bed giving them cover from above from both the rain and other eyes while the tool boxes and other things under cover from the sides. "I hope nothing happens before we get there." Thomas stated a bit worried as the truck quickly took off leaving a dozen or so grunts trying to find some keys while waiting for the other trucks to get started.

A phone going off in the front got their attention even over the sounds of rain on the camper top though while started down the street and headed north, hopefully towards Raikou. "This is Caleb, kinda busy at the moment, make it quick." A voice sounded from the cab, barely heard, but well enough as Thomas and Radara scooted as close to the front as they could.

"Its Mars, stick as close as you can. And pay attention. That damned brat has to be responsible for this. Riakou suddenly appearing like this, we didn't even have time to plan, the only thing that could be screwing this up like that is him." Mars stated very angrily over the phone.

"I've got Supervisor Annie and Grimm with him, whose in the truck with you?" She quickly asked.

"Just me, got those experimental harness collars on the seat beside me. They are still charging up, but should be ready in about four minutes, before we arrive. Might not do much good against Raikou, but any smaller pokemon will be easily subdued. If that kid shows up, I'll handle his pokemon. Not... quite sure what we can do about him directly if he really has those electric and psychic abilities though." Caleb stated as he kept driving.

"You just worry about those pokemon of his. That espeon is supposedly the strongest one he has, so over whelm it. The boss wants the boy alive, but his pokemon are fair game. Try to capture them first so we can use them against him, but if you can't, kill them... preferably without him seeing it. We'll just... dress a pokemon to look like them if we have to and won't let him near them." Mars stated, Radara already hating the woman.

"I really wish I had Cedo's tonfa right now." Thomas sighed some already telling that this was going to be a problem.

"Got it Commander. If he shows up, I'll go all in. It won't be easy though. Who do we have running bait and distractions? This close to the city, response times will be fast if the rangers and police aren't occupied." Caleb asked.

"Don't worry about that, its being handled. Just focus on the boy. Cyrus wants him more than anything else right now. If he's connected to the legendary pokemon like that tip told us and then that video of him suggested, he could be of great value to our cause. Raikou is a nice bonus and will simplify the tasks of our goals, but this was sudden and unexpected. If we can capture it, good for us. We already know that we're ill equipped to handle Raikou right now though." Mars continued.

"Understood Commander. Anything else?" Caleb asked.

"You have your orders. Don't screw this up anymore that its been done already. I'm sending you the last known location of Raikou just in case though." Mars stated very sternly now, before hanging up and there was some silence.

"Oh boy, talk about a problem. I really hope things don't get out of hand, causing any amount of property damage in the Old Shinzo District will really cause a scene of things... Better call Tonya, let her know to start packing up just in case I get recognized. Where's that mask at?" Caleb stated, before Thomas pulled out his pokedex and looked up the spoken location.

"Old Shinzo District... Looks like its based around the old Shinzo family keep that started the original city... and its very popular. The Shinzo family was known for gambling and built a large empire on it, and two of the six original casinos that the built over the ages are still operational on the water front, which are practically in the center of the district." Thomas sighed, Radara even less amused herself about the revelation.

'We could use some help if there are too many people. They are expecting us and that will only make things harder. The element of surprise has always been one of our greatest assets, people don't know how to respond to us normally. It sounds like they are ready for us specifically though.' Radara sighed.

"I'll call Xent and Sarah." Thomas noted, going to adjust the sound on his pokedex as not to attract any attention with the call.

A second later, he made the call and Xent almost immedately picked up. "So... you're probably yelling right now, but I can't hear you. I've almost muted my receiver right now, can't risk giving myself away. I'll turn the volume up, but you need to be quiet, I've stowed away in the back of a truck belonging to Team Galactic on its way to try and capture Raikou." Thomas barely whispered as he peaked out the window trying to keep on eye on where they were going.

He just barely turned up the volume and then spoke again. "Okay... but remember, quietly." Thomas noted.

"Where the hell are you... and what's the deal with Team Galactic?" Dahlai's voice sounded, easily angry and annoyed, but at least speaking calmly enough right now.

"Heading north, towards the Old Shinzo District, still in Coral Coast City. Probably towards the shrines in the district dedicated to the legendary pokemon, most likely Kyorge's shrine." Thomas responded slowly. "I'm on one of the main roads, just past a road sign for north seventh street and the Pokemon Ranger's Administration Office on our left side, heading north. I'm currently in the pack of an enclosed truck bed being driven there by a Team Galactic Grunt, on their way to capture Raikou."

"Why are you stowed away? Why aren't you already there?" Dahlia asked.

"Because we can't feel where the problem is, our senses are all muddied up. Radara feels like Samiya is now a few hundred feet above her with the water weighing down on her and I'm currently wondering how I'm not shivering when it feels like I'm at the top of Ice Island right now." Thomas noted.

"Look, we need help. Team Galactic is expecting me and Radara. Someone tipped them off about us before that news cast and that personal attack against us, and yes it was a personal attack. One of their commanders or a supervisor, someone very high ranking mentioned that they got a tip about us days before that attack was broadcast. They are counting on me and Radara showing up for that matter, Raikou is a secondary objective for them. If they can capture him, they have some kind of use for him, but that want me alive first." Thomas added.

"How could the-" Sarah started, halfway yelling and Thomas quickly covering his pokedex and looking forward, hoping he wasn't heard.

"Quietly... I'm in the back of a truck being driven by a galactic grunt. He doesn't know I'm here though." Thomas reminded them a second later.

"How could they know about you?" Xent asked now, this time far more quietly.

"I don't know, but its not a good thing at all. It sound likes they want me first though and will be focusing on me over capturing Raikou." Thomas stated.

"Look, Dahlia was helping us follow Raikou's trail, so we kind of got a head start. We just past that Pokemon Ranger's building you mentioned, so we can't be that far behind you. Can you describe the truck?" Xent asked.

"Uh... blue and white, covered truck bed, kinda square. Its following or staying close to a large box truck though, one with some kind of pokemon wildlife advertisement on it. This one has tinted windows, and the back door of this top is made fully of glass, with a lot of pokemon stickers on the back, maybe some of kind of advertisement, I can't read the writing from this side." Thomas stated, slowly moving back towards the rear of the truck.

"The make and model would help." Xent commented now.

"I don't know my cars okay. Its a truck..." Thomas grumbled.

"Do you see any symbol on the front?" Xent asked.

"I didn't get a chance to look at the front okay, just the side. I really don't have anything else to tell you." Thomas stated, looking over the truck as best he could, but being on the inside wasn't exactly a viable solution.

"You seriously suck at whole description thing. When you get back, you don't get a say, I'm forcing you to learn all the basics on cars, trucks, and whatever else, no argumen- give that back." Xent stated.

"Wait... hey wait a minute, this should help. It looks like the truck gate on the back is bright orange, and it looks replaced, it wasn't the original gate." Thomas noted.

"Orange tailgate? And blue and white truck... got it. I see it up there, two lights ahead." Dahlia stated now.

"See, now that is helpful." Xent commented.

"Listen you, my brother is in way over his head right now, it was never meant to be like this. Do you even have any idea how many laws my brother is breaking right now?" Dahlia half snapped.

"Not enough to save the world apparently. Seriously, you have to get your hands dirty sometimes." Xent quickly countered.

"Really Xent..." Thomas grumbled.

"Guys, all this arguing can't be helping right now." Sarah added.

"Radara wants to remind us all to focus here." Thomas stated himself as he looked down to Radara, not even needing to be told what she was thinking just by the irritated look on her face.

"In any case, we need to stop that box truck first. Its got a cage that could possibly hold Raikou if he's weakened in a fight. Its also got two high ranking members of Team Galactic in it, one supposedly to try and capture Raikou... and the other prepared to take me on in fight while the other members deal with Radara and whatever other pokemon show up." Thomas noted.

"Just three members on the way there. Seems like easy pickings if you ask me." Xent commented. "What? I'm not lying, it can't be any worse then Team Magma and I had to fend off like six of them."

"Try more like twenty five... at least? There were something like twenty galactic grunts in the group that me and Radara walked in before the two higher ranking ones showed up. About half of them left before they showed up though, and while Radara did trick those that were there into tossing their keys into a dumpster, someone knows how to hotwire them. They'll be following fast enough. Also, they mentioned other groups already tracking Raikou and other groups getting ready to join them." Thomas sighed.

"Okay... so maybe not as easy." Xent noted.

"Great. So basically we just accidentally walked right into one of their strong holds unknowningly. I guess I know why you two just accepted having to dock here despite it being a large city now." Dahlia said.

"So... this was a calling then?" Sarah asked, but before she could, things got complicated.

A sudden turn by the truck almost knocked Thomas off his feet even with his low stance though. "Hey, they just made turn into the alley way up there. But the box truck's still going straight... oh dammit. Don't lose the damned wonder boy." Xent cried out, looking around to see if he at least try to track the box truck, before attempting to following the pick up truck.

Even as Dahlia smacked Xent for the comment though, another large truck pulled into the alleyway first, before stopping and blocking the alleyway and opening up the back. Two men quickly got out and started to unload the truck even as Xent slowed down and honked the horn to try and get them to move. The two men unloading the truck just tried to get them to go down the road and when Xent just honked again, both guys flipped it him off and called out their large bulky pokemon, a pair of machamp, one starting to help the men unload, while the other tried directing Xent further down the road.

"Oh this is useless." Xent snapped, turning back towards the road again and even finding that he had lost the box truck. "Oh come on."

"Just head for the Old Shinzo district." Dahlia quickly noted taking his pokephone again.

"Thomas, we're o-... Thomas? Thomas?" Dahlia quickly asked, but there wasn't an answer, but instead just a disconnection tone.

"Fuck!" Dahlia snapped out loudly.

"Calm down Dahlia, Thomas is just stuck with a single grunt right? He'll manage." Sarah added.

-x-

The sudden turn did nothing to help Thomas and Radara. Thomas had dropped his pokedex as he quickly had stop a tool box from toppling over and grabbed a few tools even that flew out of it.

He quickly righted the toolbox, but lost track of where they were when the vehicle took its sudden turn down an alley and then pulled into a large garage. The door quickly closed behind them and then the divider window between the cab and the back opened up. "You guys are loud, ya know that?" Caleb stated, before the back opened up and there were a four other Team Galactic grunts waiting for him, all with pokemon already out.

"I don't suppose we can talk about this." Thomas asked, his pokedex just flying back to his hand where he checked and found his call disconnected from no signal, before putting it on his belt again.

"Sure. You surrender right here and now, give up all your pokemon and hand cuff yourself, and maybe we'll let you talk about how your going to help us." One of them stated.

"Yeah... yeah, I thought you might suggest that." Thomas noted, both him and Radara suddenly shoving all the smaller toolboxes in the back of the truck out of the truck and into the group of grunts and their pokemon. Thomas jumped out himself right afterward and tackled two closest grunts, giving them both a heavy shock.

He immediately incapacitated the two of them while Caleb tried to grab the harnesses in his seat, only for Radara have grabbed them first and tossed one around him, which locked his arms to his chest while the seat belt tied itself around him as well locking him in place, entirely helpless.

Thomas quickly ducked under the attempted counter attack by a pair of houndooms trying to use flamethrower on him, only burning the two guys that he just incapacitated though.

"HEY! Careful, careful, friendly fire!" Thomas screamed out, as he jumped out of the way and quickly grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher to put out the two guys, before slamming the bottom of it into the head of the houndooms that jumped at him.

Radara quickly pulled one of the other pokemon practically into the truck bed, and then began slamming one of the larger tool boxes into the head of the rampardos, and on the fifth bash, got its head stuck in the toolbox. Deciding that she liked the comfort of the pick up truck and since it gave her plenty of space to move and stay in cover, Radara just tossed another harness at both of the houndooms while Thomas jumped out of the way of their attacks.

The harness seemed to work great though, and instantly restrained the pair of houndooms, now glowing red and purple as it tightened around their chests a bit, giving them a nasty shock as well before wrapping around their front legs, partially with Radara's help leaving them restrained.

One of the grunts tried to go in and tackle Thomas now though, but Thomas easily side stepped the attempt, and while he did almost stumble over a power cord on the floor, he was already carrying the fire extinguisher with his mind now and used that to block a blow from the last pokemon, an electrivire.

The attack did break the fire extinguisher open though and it exploded sending fragments all over, none hitting Thomas and Radara who were protecting themselves, but a few fragments did catch the two houndooms, the electrivire and one of the grunts.

"Damnit! Stop, STOP! You're going to kill each other!" Thomas yelled out already hating this entirely. Today had been nothing but a giant mess and all of this should have been avoided.

"Call them back... pokeballs, pokeballs." Thomas stated in a bit of rush now quickly grabbing any pokeballs he could see and tried to call back as many of the pokemon as he could with two grunts being disabled. One of the houndooms was called back, along with the still angry but stuck rampardos.

Radara quickly tried restrained the other two grunts, tossing harnesses on them as well tying them up and Thomas tried to get pokeballs only for the electrivire to clean its face off and look on with a very angry cry before tackling Thomas.

Thomas was tossed into the wall, and then grabbed by the electrivire's twin vines and given a hard shock himself. While it still stung, it hardly slowed Thomas who managed to get an arm free and pulled all the batons free from the belt's of the grunts around the room. The batons all flew to Thomas's hand, only to get thrown overly hard into the forehead of the electrivire.

It stumbled and let Thomas go, but quickly recovered only for a large crate to get dropped on its head, the wooden crate breaking on impact and tools scattering everywhere.

'Call him back quickly.' Radara called out thankful that the group had been heavily unprepared and complete idiots in trying to capture them. Thomas just nodded as he grabbed all the pokeballs he could find and tried to return the other houndoom and electrivire as quickly as possible. While it did work, this still left two bleeding grunts on the floor.

'You're going to call for an ambulance now.' Radara stated extremely loudly and rather angrily at Caleb as she jumped through the back window of the cab and into his seat.

"Or else what?" Caleb snapped while Radara was inspecting the cab, even ripping open the glove box to try and find his phone.

'You misunderstand, this was not a choice for you make.' Radara snapped back, a bright flash of her eyes and Caleb fell entirely under control.

'Where is your phone?' Radara demanded.

"Floor." He stated rather dully and a bit bored sounding now, and Radara quickly looked down finding his phone, and dialed up the emergency services.

'Tell them to send help to this location and who you work for, some of them are bleeding, so they need to hurry. Tell them to bring the police as well you galactic fool.' Radara commanded.

"Hello, this is Coral Coast City emergency services. Please state the nature of your emergency." The lady on the other end quickly asked.

"I have four wounded people and four wounded pokemon at Club Midnight on main street. Use the back alley entrance. Please hurry, I can't stop the bleeding. Bring Police, Team Galactic is involved." Caleb stated still under Radara's control while Thomas rushed up. It was clear that he was out of it now and was just speaking as told basically.

"Tell them to hurry, I don't know if that exploding fire extinguisher hit anything vital for them." Thomas cried out.

"Help is on the way, please stay on the line to help us assi-" The lady on the other end of the started, only for Radara to hang up.

'Call your commander, the one who were talking with before. Tell her that we got away, but we're on our way to interfere with Raikou.' Radara commanded, untying him and letting him free now.

Caleb just nodded and took the phone now, dialing a number on the phone.

"What is it?" The female voice on the other end snapped.

"This is Caleb... damned kid and his pokemon got away. They know where Raikou is and are on his way there." Caleb stated, a little more life in his voice now, but still out of it.

"You're fucking useless." The woman screamed over the phone.

"He took down everyone in the club. I only escaped because his espeon threw one of the harnesses on me and they left me here without a care. I just got out of it. He's a lot more dangerous then we thought." Caleb stated.

"I should cast you out from Team Galactic... fine fine, get over here. Raikou's on the northern tip of the Old Shinzo District. By those old temple shrines. We've almost get everyone in position. Get more of those harnesses and meet us quickly." The woman stated before abruptly hanging up on Caleb.

Thomas quickly got into the passenger seat and closed the door. 'Drive.' Radara commanded now, and Caleb quickly hit a button on the mirror to open up the garage door behind them before rushing out of the bay and then down the alleyway in a rush.

Thomas quickly pulled out his pokedex again and waited for it to get a signal only for the pokedex to not find one. "I can't get a signal..."

"There is a portable jammer in the back of the truck. I turned it on by remote once we got into the garage." Caleb stated while still driving down the road.

"Really?" Thomas grumbled and tried to trun around in the seat to look into the back "I don't see it, where is it?"

"Tool box, large drawer on the bottom." Caleb stated.

"There are three large toolboxes back there." Thomas countered.

"Tool box, large drawer on the bottom." Caleb repeated.

'He didn't load them, he just knows what all was supposed to be in them.' Radara explained looking into his mind more directly. 'Do you think that can just shock them all and be done with it or is it too risky?'

"Way to risky. I don't want to risk frying the engine while I'm at it and I don't know how conductive the truck is in general. It would attract too much attention anyway." Thomas noted, just in time to hear emergency vehicle sirens now, coming from multiple spots.

"And I'd rather not risk getting caught right now. We need to hurry off to the temple shrines... Are you doing any better? My senses are still muddied and I can't feel anything but Spear Pillar around us, and large echoes of the distortion world." Thomas asked.

'I'm no longer underwater, but I'm not sure flying beside Rayquaza helps us at all right now. I feel nothing of Raikou in danger right now.' Radara hissed a bit.

"I hope its a gentle ride?" Thomas asked, looking around as they moved quickly onto the highway now.

'Not really. I am thankful for my telepathy right now, because I can't hear anything over the wind.' Radara whined.

"We can't keep just... winging this. We're going to get someone innocent seriously hurt just guessing like this all the time." Thomas stated, looking down and just trying to focus, but still all he could feel was Spear Pillar, and then something loudly thudded hard against the world around him.

Thomas just slowly opened his eyes with a minor shiver though. "I'm feeling nothing but the distortion though. Something on the other side, its... not happy." Thomas said softly, before looking up. "Do think that we might be able to reattune ourselves at one of our Grand Temples?"

'I hope so... the nearest one would be in valley of the Lucario Kingdom, not that far from Veilstone city. It would be a few day walk, but hopefully Suicune can lead us there. I don't know if we could find it on our own right now.' Radara lowered her head, even her ears dropping a bit from the strong dislike of feeling so helpless right now.

"That's a big detour, but we're still kind of debating already heading in the general direction. Veilstone is also not that far from Coral Coast though, but... is it wise to head there of all grand temples right now?" Thomas asked.

'The only other grand Temple is Sinnoh that still exists is on the other side of Mount Coronet. Neither one of them have large crystal rooms however, and we wouldn't be able to contact but a few of our elder brothers and sisters, Latias and Latios not among them.' Radara replied.

"Do we risk it... there's not even a guarantee that this would help us recover our senses." Thomas sighed loudly.

'Its the only idea that we have. We know that meditation in the heart chamber has always doubled our senses of the world, given us extreme clarity and even helped clear our heads. That's why you suggested it right? I know I can't think of anything else... and these lack of proper senses scare me some, I... I feel like I can't think straight.' Radara whined a bit, Thomas just reaching down to gently rub along her back to try and calm her with a nod.

The moment of silence passed quickly though as Thomas looked up, just in time to see a sign for the Old Shinzo district, still two miles away.

"We're getting closer, but I don't like it. They know we're coming, they had some extra time to prepare. And... well, I don't see any more of those collar things, and I've got three collapsible batons, and a truck full of tools? Hey, wait, maybe we can use that jammer to our advantage. I know its blocking my pokedex right now, but his phone got through. How hard could it be to … I don't know mess with the controls, make it so it messes with everything. We could call the police right now and report an emergency that someone is going to try stealing things at the shrines, then mess with it?" Thomas asked.

'We could call the police, but I don't know anything about this jammer. That said, you've already proven that you can cause interference on your own. Maybe just a little interference from you alone might be all we need to scramble everything in the area?' Radara suggested.

"That might work... Caleb might know how to change the jammer though. Think you could help me teleport into the back so I can try for a better look now that we're less likely to be seen?" Thomas asked as they approached their exit into the Old Shinzo district.

'As soon as we stop. I don't want to risk it while moving with impaired senses.' Radara noted, and once they came to a stop at the end of the exit ramp, helped teleport Thomas into the back again.

"Caleb, do you know how to change the jammer's settings?" Thomas called from the back now, checking the first tool box and finding a lot of tools, and even some chains that he might be able to use. The second one had nothing for real use, and of course it was the last one that had a large device in the bottom.

"I can adjust the basic settings. Someone else would need to set up our phone to cut through the interference." Caleb stated as he started through the old Shinzo district now, the place a lot less busy then the major parts of the city given the rain.

"How do I chance the settings to mess with everything?" Thomas asked.

"Just fiddle with the dial, and it will change." Caleb replied.

"I think I can do that... Radara, his phone." Thomas asked, reaching through the window and Radara handed him the phone.

Doing a quick check for the number for the police station itself, Thomas made a quick call.

"Hello, this is officer James with the Coral Coast City Police, Precinct 3. How may I direct your call?" The man on the other end quickly asked.

"Hi, I've got a bit of a problem. I think I just happened upon a crime in progress. This old buddy of mine was asking me for help with something tonight, but I had other plans that only got canceled last minute and I'm at his place right now. I'm looking over all these plans and drawings and more in his room, I... I-i think he's into some real bad shit. I think he's trying to steal some ancient trinkets and treasures from the legendary pokemon shrines in the Old Shinzo district, and he might be there right now." Thomas quickly lied, just going with anything that might draw some attention.

"You think that his unnamed friend of yours is into thievery... Mr?" James asked.

"Yeah. I mean I always thought that he was well off and doing good for himself, but had just a bit too much stuff and was too... I don't know, it just felt off. But looking over all these things right now, there's some paper work about alarm systems, and people who tend the shrine, and what pokemon were there, and all these pictures." Thomas added.

"Sir, just take it easy. Can I have your name please." James asked again.

"Its Johnson, my name is Johnson. Look, you gotta hurry, I do... oh... oh no no... I think I just found a box of ammo... and. Oh no, hurry up, I think I hear someone coming, I need to hi-" Thomas started, before hanging up abruptly and then fiddling with the dial a bit.

'You should call Xent while you have the chance.' Radara called back, only to hear Thomas loudly grumble.

"Yeah... yeah I really should have thought about that." Thomas stated loudly.

'You just messed with the jammer and the phone doesn't have a signal anymore does it?' Radara asked.

"Yep... I am not use to this whole... modern age sneaking and phone thing." Thomas noted.

'Well, hopefully they can find us quickly. Do you think that the police will be coming to investigate?' Radara noted, not blaming Thomas right now, both of them heavily distracted and this whole thing from the start was a mess for them. They were use to just being where they were needed ahead of time, not having to figure out where to go on the spot.

"I hope so. Given that they'll try to call this phone back and then they won't be able to get a signal should be worrisome enough to warrant a faster response." Thomas noted, before another loud crack of thunder sounded in the area, once more without a flash of lightning.

"Well, we're in the right area for sure." Thomas stated, quickly looking out the windows, trying to see where it was coming from. While looking around, he also noted a few police cars and even an official pokemon ranger's jeep.

"On the bright side, there appear to be a few people already here. Maybe we'll have some help eitherway. Any proper officers will be practically forced to help with collateral damage and protecting Raikou to prevent any major damage even if it gets us into more trouble." Thomas noted.

'We can only hope.' Radara replied.

The last few minutes of the drive looking around were now spent in silence as Thomas and Radara looked around, but couldn't actually see Raikou anywhere though. What they did find however was the large box truck pulling around the back of a large building.

"Is that the same box truck from when we first encountered Team Galactic?" Thomas asked. "Right hand side, that large building with the large electronic bill board currently giving a weather warning over the advertisement for the shrines." Thomas asked.

'It could be. I don't have better ideas so... Drive here. Let us out and then hand cuff yourself to the steering wheel.' Radara commanded.

Caleb quickly did as he was told though, driving up close to building, but pulling into the parking lot beside it. While still easily obscured by the fence between the two buildings, once Thomas and Radara got out and peaked through the slots between the boards, they quickly found what they were looking for.

As far as Thomas and Radara could see, there were seventeen Team Galactic grunts and a few more who stood out including the supervisor and commander present on the other side of the fence. "Well, we definitely found them." Thomas stated, looking around for a moment, and then hearing a loud crack of thunder again. This time though, it was accompanied by a bright flash, several screams, and a few sudden car alarms.

'And Raikou.' Radara added, Raikou having just landed hard on top of the box truck and shocking a dozen of the grunts.

"So much for keeping this out of the city." Thomas just sighed as he rushed to action.

Thomas and Radara jumped up over the fence and charged in now, Radara going in for their pokeballs as much as she could, trying to rip down as many belts, and a few pairs of pants as she could to keep numbers under control.

"Damn it!" Mars screams out, her pokemon already out and now coming to her aid. Her golbat quickly swooped down to try and tackle Thomas now, only to get a baton stuffed in its mouth. Raikou quickly turned it into a lightning rod when he used a thunder attack on it while Thomas rose it up into the air, Thomas taking a chance to store up some of the attack himself.

While it clearly hurt, Thomas still had a change to get quite the charge from the attack, and then passed it on. Dropping the now unconscious golbat, he threw both arms out and let loose his thunder attack, if far weaker, still going for the truck as Raikou jumped off of it onto another vehicle. He quickly popped all the tires on the side he was facing, as well as shattered the windshield and window facing him, even starting a fire in the seat.

Radara used the large show of power to do some of her own work as well, having missed some pokeballs as about a dozen pokemon were called out, including from a second group of grunts. A group of seven more grunts who were rushing up from the far side of the building, no doubt one of the other groups that had been mentioned earlier were now eager to get in on the fight.

"Get the boy first!" Mars yelled out as she rushed forward, her bronzor at her side while her purugly charged forward to lead the attack. Hearing the words though, Raikou jumped down onto the street between Thomas and Mar's and gave a defiant roar.

Xent was forced to continue down the road, but still flipped off the two guys unloading the truck until Dahlia forced his hands back onto the wheel. "So help me, if anyone even suggests asking the cursed question, I'm going to punch them in the face." Xent snapped as he tried to catch up to the box truck that Thomas had mentioned.

"Ummm... what question?" Sarah asked very confused.

"The one that tempts fate by asking if something else can go wrong." Dahlia grumbled as Xent took off.

As he sped up to the next light though, and then one after that, there was no sign of it. "Oh come on..." Xent snapped, only for a police car right next to them to start up its lights and siren. An instant feeling of worry, annoyance, or combination of the two over took the truck, but the police car seemed to ignore them, as it turned back around, an illegal u turn by any means, but it also meant that whatever caught their attention was behind them.

"Great... just great. I should punch you here and now for even muttering it." Xent stated glaring at Dahlia.

"This isn't helping. Look, we know where they are going right? The legendary temples in the old Shinzo District right?" Sarah asked, pulling out her pokedex and doing a quick search.

"There are three temples on the coast, all in the Old Shinzo district. Thomas said the Kyorge one right?" Sarah asked, now showing her pokedex to Dahlia and Xent.

"That seems like as good a place as any to start. If that shrine is still on it original foundations, there is a small sanctuary under it. There was a natural cave there and a spring with it. It was turned into a small home for my ground and rock type brothers and sisters to enjoy a place of comfort in the early days of our time." Dahlia stated.

Pulling up the map and directions, Sarah quickly slotted her pokedex on the dash board in front of Xent to make it easy for him to get there. "Would that we why Raikou is in the city? He wants to go the sanctuary?" Sarah asked.

"Its as good a guess as any. He's... well for all of his friendliness and eagerness, its hard to tell what he's thinking at times and he can act rather spontaneous, making things up as he goes along." Dahlia explained.

"At least its a start. Even if he's not going there, we should be in the general location right?" Xent asked, quickly pulling off the main street and heading right for a highway to get there faster. "And with a little luck, maybe we'll find that box truck again."

"Well, get on it, let's get moving." Dahlia stated.

"I am not risking breaking any traffic laws if I can help it right now." Xent countered, only to hear another police siren start to sound in the distance as well as a few medical sirens. "See! See, this is what you get for even trying to mention that damned question! Our faces are all over the news, we've got no illusions on hand, no make up, no disguises! If we get pulled over, we are not bullshitting our way out of it right now. I'll go as fast as traffic does, maybe a bit faster, but I am not getting pulled over right now." Xent snapped a bit loudly.

"Xent, calm down... please." Sarah almost pleaded.

"That is a little hard at the moment." Xent stated, but did try as he rushed to get onto the highway, just not overly rushed as he handed Sarah his pokedex. "Here, put those directions into my pokedex, and then take yours back."

"Okay." Sarah nodded, pulling up the directions on his pokedex then taking hers back.

"Look up everything you can about the area. What's close by, any large buildings, warehouses espically, any place that you can hide a large group of people. Team Galactic won't just be standing around outside to be seen, but if they are gathering then they have a spot in mind already not in plain view." Xent stated.

"Well, o-okay." Sarah stated pulling up a map and looking over what was around the shrines. There wasn't much though, the immediate space around the shrines was rather open, a few parks, empty space that didn't have buildings and nothing marked on the map, and then something caught her eye.

"This looks interesting. This section of the map here, it says that its the old shrine site, but its condemned now. Did they move the shrine, or just rebuild it at a different spot?" Sarah asked.

"The sanctuary wouldn't have been moved. Which shrine was it that it looks like it was moved?" Dahlia asked.

"The one for Kyorge I think." Sarah noted.

"Then we'll start looking there first. How far is it from the other shrines." Dahlia asked.

"About a mile and half down the coast from the other shrines. Should I focus my search of things around the old shrine?" Sarah asked.

"Seems as good a place to start as any since we lost our lead." Xent grumbled.
