So last time, Bobby and Lori have returned home from the hospital, and are now adjusting to their new lives as parents. Meanwhile, Castleton has decided to retire from the R.W.P.D. following his takedown of Alex and the losses of Joseph and Lang. Deidre has also reunited with Clyde and the two decided to start bonding over their new mother-son relationship. However, a certain former employee at Sunset Canyon has decided to become a temp nurse for Bobby and Lori, and it seems that she plans to usurp their parenting privileges from the young couple.
Will Bobby and Lori survive the week? Let's find out.
I would like to thank DukeyDukeyDoo and Maikoh Locklear for helping me proofread. Now on with the story.
Chapter 45: Guess Sue's Back
The next day...
[It was just another bright and sunny day during the after school hours in Royal Woods, and Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were skating over to Bobby and Lori's apartment on separate boards. As they were skating, Lincoln held a rectangular box in his right arm while Ronnie Anne held a paper bag in her hand. Lincoln then turned his attention to the readers as he continued to skate.]
Lincoln: "Today, Ronnie Anne and I have gotten a couple of neat gifts for Marty. Plus, I got a little something for Bobby right here."
Ronnie Anne: "I think Marty's going to like my gift."
Lincoln: "We'll see when he's older. But I think mine's sure to motivate him."
[When they finally reached Carlisle Park Apartments, the two kids got off their skateboards and raced into the building before approaching the stairs.]
Ronnie Anne: "Race you to the top, Lame-O!"
[And just like that, the two kids started racing up the stairs. Upon reaching the second level, they ran past Deidre before approaching Unit B3 with Lincoln in the lead.]
Ronnie Anne: "Good game, Linc!"
Lincoln: "Thanks, Ronnie Anne! You weren't too bad yourself!"
[Deidre let out a chuckle as she looked at the two kids.]
[Lincoln knocked on the door and waited for a few seconds before Bobby opened it and looked down at his sister and honorary brother.]
Bobby: "Hey there, kids."
Ronnie Anne: "Hey, Bobby! Lincoln and I thought we'd pay you guys a visit, if that's okay."
Bobby: "Of course! Come on in."
[Ronnie Anne and Lincoln walked in the apartment before approaching Lori, who was sitting on the couch with Marty in her arms.]
Ronnie Anne: "Hey, Lori!"
Lori: "Hi, Ronnie Anne, Lincoln."
Ronnie Anne: "Hola, Lori."
[Ronnie Anne then caught sight of the baby, who looked at Ronnie Anne.]
Ronnie Anne: "Hey there, Martinez. Here's your Tía Ronalda."
[Ronnie Anne then nuzzled her nephew, making him smile. Bobby and Lori smiled too as they watched the young Santiago girl interacting with their son. Lincoln then approached Marty and gently rubbed the baby's head.]
Lincoln: "And you can't forget about your Uncle Lincoln, can you?"
[Marty gurgled in response to his uncle.]
Lori: "So, what brings you two here?"
Ronnie Anne: "We thought we'd stop by to see how the new parents were doing, and to show you what we got for Marty."
[Ronnie Anne reached into the bag and pulled out a pair of roller skates, much to Bobby and Lori's skepticism.]
Bobby: "Oh... Isn't this nice?"
Lori: "They're literally a little bit big, though."
Ronnie Anne: "I get the skepticism, but don't worry. I can wait for about a year or so when he's ready. You didn't think I'd let him skate at his age, did you?"
[Ronnie Anne put the skates on the table.]
Lori: "We'll have to baby-proof them until then, but thanks anyway."
Lincoln: "Check out what I got."
[Lincoln then reached into the bag and pulled out an Ace Savvy comic book before putting it on the table beside the skates.]
Bobby: "Ace Savvy, huh?"
Lincoln: "I thought I'd give Marty something to help motivate him in his coming years."
Lori: "That's sweet, Lincoln."
Lincoln: "Thanks. By the way, Bobby. I also brought you these."
[Lincoln showed Bobby the box and opened it to reveal what appeared to be cigars. Bobby's eyes widened as he saw the objects in the box before looking back at Lincoln with concern as did Lori.]
Bobby: "Lincoln, where did you get those? Aren't you too young to smoke?"
Lincoln: "No, Bobby! These are actually assorted chocolates. I wouldn't even get anywhere close to the real thing."
Bobby: "Oh... Well that changes everything. C'mon, bro. Let's go to the balcony and inspect these sweets."
[Lincoln nodded and closed the box before following Bobby to the balcony with the box in hand, leaving Lori and Ronnie Anne alone with Marty. Upon reaching the balcony, Lincoln opened the box again and took one of the chocolate cigars before putting it in his mouth. Bobby then reached into the box and took one for himself. He then inspected it, sniffed it, and finally put the chocolate in his own mouth, tasting the sweetness. Bobby leaned his arms on the railing as he looked ahead with a smile before taking a bite of his chocolate cigar.]
Lincoln: "So, which one did you get?"
[Bobby looked into his chocolate cigar to inspect the filling.]
Bobby: "Caramel-filled... And you?"
[Lincoln took his partially bitten chocolate cigar out of his mouth before showing Bobby the filling.]
Lincoln: "I got a marshmallow crème one, and it is delicious."
Bobby: "I'll bet it is. So, where did you get these?"
Lincoln: "I got them from Auntie Pam's. It was a limited time promotion and I just had to take it. There are plenty more flavors in this box and there's two of each one. Coconut, Hazelnut, Peanut Butter, you name it!"
Bobby: "Well then, I'll be sure to try them all as soon as I can."
[Bobby chuckled at Lincoln as the Loud boy put his chocolate cigar back in his mouth and leaned his free hand on the railing while holding the box in his other arm.]
Lincoln: "So, how were your first nights with Marty?"
Bobby: "Pretty exhausting, but we've got someone helping us out for the week."
Lincoln: "Okay. I think that's a good call on your part."
Bobby: "Yeah. I know the first days will be a challenge, but it'll be worth it in the end. I've got a beautiful girlfriend, a beautiful baby boy, and a beautiful family helping us."
Lincoln: "Not to mention a bunch of beautifully crafted chocolate cigars like these."
Bobby: "Si... Life can be cruel at times, but it has its moments of beauty as well. And we can't forget about that, can we?"
Lincoln: "No, we can't. I can't even think of one thing that can spoil this moment."
"Smoking? Now, there's a great way to relieve stress... If you want the baby to choke on the embers!"
[Lincoln and Bobby turned around to see Sue, who was wearing her nurse outfit and crossing her arms.]
Lincoln: "Oh no, not her again."
Bobby: "You know this woman?"
Lincoln: "Let's just say that my grandfather and I aren't exactly on good terms with her."
Sue: "There will be no smoking with the baby around, and that's my first rule. Now give it here."
[Sue then took the cigars out of Bobby and Lincoln's mouths before throwing them off the balcony. She then swiped the box from Lincoln.]
Lincoln: "Wait a minute! Those are just chocolates!"
Sue: "Oh... Chocolates you say? Isn't this a good way to get diabetes? Well, not in this establishment!"
[With that, Sue tossed the box of chocolates off the balcony.]
Lincoln: "But... But... But..."
[Sue ignored Lincoln and spoke to Bobby.]
Sue: "You'll thank me later, Robert. After all, I know what's best."
[Bobby sighed before answering the nurse.]
Bobby: "Si... Good call, Sue."
[Sue then took notice of the roller skates on the living room table before approaching it.]
Sue: "And what is this? Roller skates?"
[Sue then took the skates off the table, much to Ronnie Anne's shock.]
Ronnie Anne: "Hey! Wait a minute! I spent my hard earned money getting those for Marty!"
Sue: "Why, that's really thoughtful of you... If you want the baby to crack his fragile head!"
[Sue then threw the skates out the balcony.]
Ronnie Anne: "Are you kidding me?!"
Sue: "Rule Number 2; Anything that might be dangerous to the baby's health and safety will be tossed, as I have just established. Besides, I think your nephew will be a lot safer here at home. Wouldn't you agree?"
[Ronnie Anne put her hands in her pockets as she pouted.]
Ronnie Anne: "Good call, Shrew. I mean Shrew. I mean Shrew. I mean Sue."
[Sue simply glared at the Santiago girl, but said nothing as she took the comic and looked over the pages.]
Sue: "The same goes for comic books as well! The imagery in these books could have a negative impact on the baby's mindset!"
[Sue then tossed the comic book off the balcony, much to Lincoln's disappointment.]
Lincoln: "Aw man!"
[Lincoln then looked over at Lori.]
Lincoln: "What is she doing here, Lori?"
Lori: "She's the nurse we hired."
Lincoln: "But she threw out my comic book and Ronnie Anne's skates! Not to mention the chocolates that Bobby and I were enjoying! She has no right to boss you around! This is your place, after all."
Lori: "Now, Lincoln, Sue literally knows best and we need all the help we can get until the end of the week."
Sue: "Lori's right, you know? I'm here to do my job. And until this week ends, we follow my rules and my guidelines."
Ronnie Anne: "Oh, really? Well, if the comic book, skates, and chocolates go, then Lincoln and I are going too!"
[Ronnie Anne grabbed Lincoln's hand as she said this.]
Sue: "And that brings us to my third rule; No visitors allowed! And that especially goes for little troublemakers like you!"
[Sue pointed her finger at the two kids.]
Lincoln: "What?! But we're their family!"
Sue: "I don't care! Rules are rules! And as of right now, you are both banned from this place until week's end! Now, kindly do yourselves a favor and vacate the premises immediately!"
[Sue then pointed her finger to the door. Ronnie Anne, not wanting to argue in front of her brother, huffed and made her way to the door whilst dragging Lincoln with her.]
Ronnie Anne: "C'mon, Lincoln! I can tell when we're not welcome here."
[And with that, Ronnie Anne stormed out of the apartment whilst dragging Lincoln with her.]
Bobby: "Babe, aren't you going to say something?"
[Lori then waved her hand at Lincoln and Ronnie Anne.]
Lori: "Bye."
[Bobby raised an eyebrow at Lori before the blonde girl bit her lower lip.]
[As soon as Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were out the door, Sue approached the door and looked out while pointing at Lincoln.]
Sue: "And don't think I forgot all about the trouble you caused me back at Sunset Canyon, kid! And just a reminder, don't you or your friend bother coming back here until next Tuesday!"
[And with that, Sue shut the door.]
Sue: "And that's that."
[Sue then clasped her hands together as she turned to face Lori and Bobby with a smile.]
Sue: "Well, everyone, it looks like it's just you and me in this apartment. And as long as we follow my rules, I think we can all get along just fine."
[Bobby and Lori looked at each other with uncertainty. This was clearly going to be a long week for the both of them now that Sue was around.]
Later, at the Loud House...
[The Loud Family were preparing themselves for dinner and tonight, Lynn Sr. was making turkey loaf along with mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. Rita and her teen daughters sat in the dining room while the remaining five girls were seated at the kiddie table in the kitchen where their father was almost finished preparing the meal. Once everything was ready, Lynn Sr. prepared the youngest five's dishes and set them on the kiddie table before heading into the dining room to prepare everyone else's dishes, even filling the plates by the two vacant chairs that were reserved for Lincoln and Ronnie Anne.]
Lynn Sr.: "There we go! Another dinner prepped by Chef Lynn! Lincoln and Ronnie Anne should be coming through that door right about..."
[At that moment, Ronnie Anne marched into the house whilst dragging Lincoln by the hand.]
Lynn Sr.: "...now. And just in time, too!"
[The two kids made their way to the dinner table and took their seats as everyone else in the room stared at them for a few moments before digging in.]
[As everyone was enjoying their meal, Lynn Sr. spoke to Lincoln and Ronnie Anne.]
Lynn Sr.: "So, kids... How was your visit to Bobby and Lori's?"
Lincoln: "Well, Dad... How do we put this delicately...? It was kind of like... Uh..."
[Ronnie Anne rolled her eyes before speaking up.]
Ronnie Anne: "A total pain in the ass! That's how it was!"
Rita: "Ronnie Anne, what did we tell you about swearing at the table?"
[Ronnie Anne sighed.]
Ronnie Anne: "I'm sorry... It's just that nurse that Bobby and Lori hired. She makes me so mad!"
Rita: "Honey, I'm sure this nurse is not as bad as you say she is."
Lincoln: "Well, Mom, to be perfectly honest... The aforementioned nurse... It's Sue."
[Rita's eyes widened with surprise when she heard that name.]
Rita: "What? You mean Pop-Pop's old nurse?"
Lynn Sr.: "The one who was fired and banned from Sunset Canyon?"
Ronnie Anne: "Yeah! That's the one! She's enforced a bunch of stupid rules onto Bobby and Lori, and one of them prohibits anyone from visiting!"
Lynn Sr.: "Well, I'm sure she has her reasons for doing so."
Ronnie Anne: "Even family members! She banned us both for the whole week!"
[The Loud teens gasped when they heard what Ronnie Anne just said. The younger Loud kids did the same, having heard the conversation from the kitchen.]
Luna: "What?! Now that is just bogus!"
Luan: "Yeah! I dunno what Bobby and Lori were thinking, but was their decision for better or nurse?"
[Lynn Sr. laughed while everyone else groaned and rolled their eyes before turning their attention to the father of eleven with deadpan serious looks on their faces. Lynn Sr.'s laughter died down as he saw his family staring at him.]
Lynn Sr.: "Sorry."
Luan: "Let's be serious, Dad! Lincoln and Ronnie Anne might have a point!"
Lynn: "Damn right they do!"
Lynn Sr.: "Language, Lynn Jr.!"
Lynn: "Sorry, but who does that shrew think she is?! Not letting us visit Marty when we want to!"
Lana: "Yeah! He's our nephew, for Pete's sake!"
Lola: "That's right! Don't we, as family members, have a right to pay our visits to our own flesh and blood?!"
Lucy: "I second the motion!"
[Rita whistled to get everyone's attention.]
Rita: "Everyone, settle down! I get it! Sue is a bit...commanding, from what Pop-Pop has told us. But I'm sure that Bobby and Lori will want to put up with it for the week. So until then, maybe we should be a little patient."
Lynn Sr.: "Yeah... Hopefully, Sue won't be the same way towards Marty. I mean, she's gotta have at least SOME standards... Right?"
Lisa: "As much as I want to object on the matter, we might have to side with our parental units on it... For the time being."
[Everyone at the table looked at one another and the kids begrudgingly agreed.]
Ronnie Anne: "For their sake, I really hope that's the case."
Lincoln: "Well, we didn't hear Sue say anything about not calling Lori or Bobby, did we?"
Ronnie Anne: "Not really. I guess we still have limited communication with them... Even if it's going to be on the phone or from behind a screen."
Lynn: "I don't really like this as much as everyone else, but I guess we can try to let things run its course. It's Marty I'm worried about."
Leni: "Maybe this Sue won't be so bad. Like, maybe she just wants what's best for the baby?"
Lincoln: "I wouldn't be too sure about that, Leni. I've seen first-hand how she's treated Pop-Pop. If anything, she'll likely convince Bobby and Lori that they're unfit to raise their baby or something."
Lola: "Unfit to raise their baby?! Preposterous! Not after everything they've been through!"
Rita: "Everyone, we'll talk more about this matter later. But for now, let's all just have a nice pleasant dinner and then see where things go from here."
Lynn Sr.: "You're mother's right. We'll just have to let things run its course. In the meantime, we focus on running our second course...of dinner."
[Lynn Sr. chuckled.]
Lynn Sr.: "But seriously, let's just wait and see if this nurse is REALLY capable of taking good care of Marty."
[After that conversation, dinner went by as normal before everyone went to their rooms and got ready for bed. Of course, the Loud kids and Ronnie Anne still couldn't get Sue out of their minds. Based on what they've heard from Albert, Sue was really domineering over him and the other senior citizens at Sunset Canyon with Lincoln being the only one to witness this nearly a year ago. But for now, there was nothing that any of them could actually do about it. All they could do was be patient until the end of the week and hope that things go smoothly for Bobby and Lori.]
[As Lynn and Lucy were getting ready for bed that night, Lucy spoke to her sister and roommate as she laid in her bed.]
Lucy: "Hey, Lynn?"
Lynn: "Yeah, Luce?"
Lucy: "I'm sensing that Sue will do something far worse than what Lincoln says."
Lynn: "Okay. Say that I believe what you just said, are we gonna kick that shrew's ass if that happens?"
Lucy: "If I sense such a possibility, I will be sure to let you all know."
Lynn: "Whatever you say, Lucy... Good night."
[And with that, the two middle sisters went to sleep.]
Meanwhile, at a tavern in Downtown Royal Woods...
[Castleton sat at the bar as he was drowning his sorrows. Ever since his retirement two days ago, Castleton had difficulty on figuring out what to do with his life.]
Castleton: "Hit me again."
Bartender: "Hasn't the hero of Royal Woods had enough to drink? You've had about five shots already."
Castleton: "Please... I'm no hero... I'm just a man... A man with nothing to lose at this point."
Bartender: "Well, the bar's closing for the night in five minutes, so you might want to think about leaving soon."
[Castleton just sighed and stared down into his empty shot glass. He wanted to just stay where he was and wallow, even if it meant getting thrown out of the place.]
Castleton: "Just give me another one."
[The bartender shrugged before filling Castleton's glass again.]
"I was wondering where I'd find you after all these years."
[Castleton looked to his left and saw an Asian man around his early 40s sitting on the stool beside him.]
Castleton: "Byung-ho? I haven't seen you since Iraq."
[Park Byung-ho was a mercenary born in South Korea who served in the Iraq War. Prior to his mercenary work, Byung-ho joined the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency as a young adult before eventually becoming a member of the 707th Special Mission Group. After a few years, he left the 707th and joined the Greenwinter mercenary group, taking part in a few global conflicts to make ends meet. While in Iraq, he met U.S. Army Sergeant Ian Castleton and they became acquaintances until the United States pulled out of the country.]
Byung-ho: "I've retired from mercenary work about a few years ago. I bought myself a nice house in Huntington Oaks with my riches and I'm set for years to come."
Castleton: "I see... So, what brings you to Royal Woods?"
Byung-ho: "I heard about your accomplishments in the police department, so I thought I'd stop by and give my thanks. From one law enforcer to another."
[Castleton sighed and looked down at his glass again.]
Castleton: "If you're looking for a hero of the R.W.P.D., then you're wasting your time. I quit the force just yesterday."
Byung-ho: "Quit? What the hell are you talking about?"
Castleton: "I have completed the biggest case of my entire career, if not my whole life... But it really took a lot out of me."
Byung-ho: "Really? What happened?"
Castleton: "I lost a couple of officers who served under my wing. I tried to send them away from the battle, but they ended up coming back and getting killed. They risked their lives to save me...and yet I couldn't even save them."
Byung-ho: "So, you're going to let the loss of a couple of officers cloud your judgment?"
[Castleton pounded his hand on the bar before quickly turning his head to look at Byung-ho again.]
Castleton: "They had families to take care of, Byung-ho! One of them had a husband and six kids and the other one had his grandparents! They were both counting on me to lead them and I let them die!"
[Byung-ho raised his hands in defense.]
Byung-ho: "Relax, Ian, I didn't mean anything by it. I've had my fair share of losses when I worked with the 707th and at Greenwinter, but I've hardly let them get to me. It's all a part of life, after all. But enough about me. Why don't you tell me exactly what happened to you?"
[Castleton sighed as he looked down at his shot glass.]
Castleton: "Alex Santiago managed to kidnap the entire Loud Family and he forced me to surrender and come to him alone. My old detective partner and I made our way back to Alex's hideout to stop him... and that's when we found my comrades...dead..."
[Castleton then focused his eyes on Byung-ho again.]
Castleton: "And you want to know the worst part of all this? I had to learn through the words of one of my dying subordinates that my former superior was secretly working for Alex! Joseph, Lang, and possibly other fellow officers in town lost their lives because my superior played a part in Alex's plan!"
[Castleton groaned and rested his arms and head on the bar.]
Castleton: "What a nightmare..."
[Byung-ho put his hand on his old acquaintance's shoulder to reassure him.]
Byung-ho: "Hey, man... Don't get so down. You just need to pull yourself together and think back to why you started in the first place."
Castleton: "I don't know if I can find another job, Byung-ho. Police work is one of the few things I know besides my military career, and I really don't feel like going back there after everything that's happened."
Byung-ho: "Maybe I can help you out. Do you have a credit card? I might be able to transfer some of my funds over to you."
[Castleton raised a brow as he looked at Byung-ho upon hearing what he said.]
Castleton: "How much?"
Byung-ho: "About $50,000. It may not be a million, but it should be enough to get you back on your feet."
Castleton: "You're really giving me money? Just like that?"
Byung-ho: "Hey, it's the least I can do for an old war acquaintance."
[Castleton gave a small smile to Byung-ho, but he still felt pretty down over his experience.]
Bartender: "Alright, boys, it's closing time! Best put down your drinks and scat!"
[The bartender pointed his thumb towards the door as he finished that sentence, giving Castleton and Byung-ho the impression that it was time to leave.]
Byung-ho: "We'll talk more at my place, okay? At least right after you wake up."
[Castleton nodded before he and Byung-ho got up from their seats and exited the bar. Byung-ho had to help Castleton out of the building due to his drunken state and they did not stop until they got to Byung-ho's car. Castleton laid down in the back seats as Byung-ho drove him back to his place.]
Dream...
[Deidre was lying down in a peaceful forest looking at the dawn sky when she heard a familiar voice speak beside her.]
Vee: "Hello again, Dee."
[Deidre looked over and saw Vee looking down at her with her hands behind her back like a teenage girl.]
Deidre: "All right, Vee... What do you want now?"
Vee: "Nothing much. I just wanted to make sure you remembered what I said last night."
Deidre: "Yeah, about that. I've been meaning to ask you about this someone from my childhood."
Vee: "You really have a good memory, you know that?"
[Deidre slowly got back on her feet before speaking to Vee again.]
Deidre: "So what can you tell me, exactly?"
Vee: "Let's just say that I might've done a bit of eavesdropping at that lil' shindig two days ago. What Mr. Booke said brought a certain someone to mind."
Deidre: "You mean Sue?"
Vee: "Well, I sure as hell ain't whistlin' Old Suzanna, but something about her keeps popping up around here. You do remember the day when you and Rita first met, right?"
Deidre: "How can I forget? It was back in our high school days, Summer of '92, right here in Royal Woods."
Vee: "I thought so. What do you say we take a look at the yearbook?"
[With that, Vee conjured up an old Royal Woods High School Yearbook that was titled Class of '92. After scanning through a few pages, including younger versions of Flip, Liam's Mee-Maw, Chef Pat, and Mrs. Gurdle, Vee stops on one page and peels out a photo of a certain female student with the name Susan Shrood on the bottom.]
Vee: "Don't this gal look all kinds of familiar to you?"
[Deidre took a good look at the photo and scowled.]
Deidre: "Yeah, that's Sue the Snob alright. My old elementary, middle, and high school bully. I remember that one week after I first met Rita. She saved me from those bullies and beat the crap out of their leader, Sue."
Vee: "That she did, Dee, and boy did that girl run off crying like a little bitch when it was all over."
[Vee chuckled as she finished her sentence.]
Deidre: "Yep..."
Vee: "Now... let's do a little comparison check. Shall we?"
[Vee then reached into her jacket and pulled out a cell phone and fiddled with it for a bit until she pulled up a web browser with another photo of Sue. This time, in her current appearance as she wore her nurse outfit from Sunset Canyon.]
Vee: "Okay, Dee. Picture this; This is a photo of Susan Shrood as we know of today, during her old job at Sunset Canyon. Do you see any... similarities to the other photo?"
[Deidre took a good look at the photos. The high school photo showed Sue as a long-haired, slender, but tough-looking young girl, while the other photo showed an older Sue with a different hairstyle and a more hefty figure.]
Deidre: "I think I see a resemblance... But Vee, are you sure they're the same person?"
Vee: "Well, let's see... If you remove the bun from this one's hair and trim down some of the fat..."
[Vee played with a photo editor on the phone to make some adjustments to Sue's adult photo. Once Vee undid the bun behind Sue's head, her hair flowed down to the exact same length as her high school photo, creating a similar resemblance to said photo.]
Vee: "And... Voila! You got yourself a totally similar version to the yearbook photo."
Deidre: "Oh my god... Vee, you are absolutely right... That's definitely her! I can't believe Lori and Bobby have to suffer under that bitch."
Vee: "You know it, girl! Also, I might not be the Hunchback of Notre Dame, but I do have a hunch... A hunch that she's planning something with the kid. If I were you, I'd get ready to give her a piece of my mind!"
Deidre: "But you can't... You're just an illusion."
Vee: "Exactly... But that doesn't mean that YOU can't do it. You're gonna have to face Sue sooner or later. Plus, that baby's well-being depends on it! Now if I were you, I'd wake up!"
[Vee clapped her hands before everything faded to white.]
Back in reality...
[Deidre opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling for a few moments before sitting up. The familiar cries of Marty coming from next door was the first thing she heard. What followed was a female voice talking in a soothing tone, but it didn't sound like Lori's. The baby's cries started to subside as the woman kept shushing him.]
Sue: "It's okay, honey. No one can harm you. I'll make sure of it in just a matter of days. You are too precious to be with such inexperienced people."
[After hearing that last sentence, Deidre got a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach.]
Deidre: "That poor kid. He doesn't know that woman is bad news."
[Deidre leaned her back against the wall and crossed her arms.]
Deidre: "I wish I could do something to help... But what?"
The next day, at around 12:30 P.M...
[Bobby had just returned from working at the laundromat. It had been a long day and he was looking forward to spending some time with his family. He found Lori sitting on the couch dotting over Marty as he laid in his bassinet beside the couch.]
Bobby: "Hey, Babe! I'm home!"
[Lori looked up at Bobby and smiled at him.]
Lori: "Welcome home, Boo-Boo Bear. Another early leave today?"
Bobby: "You know it, Babe!"
[Bobby gave his girlfriend a kiss on her forehead before his attention shifted to Marty as he approached the bassinet and lifted the baby out of it.]
Bobby: "Hey, hijo! How's my boy? Did you miss me?"
"Awwww... Now that is downright adorable... If you want to spread your germs to that baby!"
[Bobby turned around and saw Sue glaring at him.]
Bobby: "Qué?"
Sue: "You clearly aren't antiseptic, are you, Robert? Who knows what kind of filth has been on your hands while you're at work? You will put the baby down until further notice, and that is my fourth rule... Now, put him down... Gently..."
[Bobby obliged as he slowly put Marty back in his bassinet while Sue smiled in approval.]
Sue: "That's a good boy. Now you stay right where you are... I'll be back."
[With that, Sue went into the baby's room. Bobby then looked over at Lori.]
Bobby: "Lori, I don't know how to tell you this, but that woman is loco."
Lori: "It's only for a week, Bobby. We literally have to have somebody helping out around here."
Bobby: "I know, but couldn't we have just gotten help from our friends and family?"
Lori: "You heard what Sue said; No visitors. Besides, I still think we need to wait a few more weeks before we can allow our family to help out with Marty. Now, I don't like it either, but we have to try and pull through it until the week has gone by. Can you do that for me?"
Bobby: "I guess so. For your sake."
Lori: "Thank you, Boo-Boo Bear."
[Lori then gave Bobby a kiss on the cheek.]
[At that moment, Sue returned with a pair of gloves and a face mask.]
Sue: "Now we'll fix you up so you can visit your son again. Come over here."
[Sue then fitted the protective gloves and mask on Bobby.]
Sue: "That ought to do it. You'll thank me later, Robert."
Lori: "Go right ahead, Bobby."
[Bobby then leaned over the bassinet and looked down at Marty.]
Bobby: "Hola, mijo. Your papá's right here."
[Immediately, Marty started wailing, much to Bobby's surprise. It was clear that the baby couldn't recognize his father with that mask on.]
Sue: "Now look at what you've done, Robert! You went and scared him! Out!"
[Sue then grabbed Bobby by the shoulders and started pushing him to the front door.]
Bobby: "But... But... But..."
Sue: "But nothing! Maybe a little outside stroll will give you time to think twice before scaring your child!"
[Finally, Sue shoved Bobby out of the apartment before shutting the door. She then walked over to Marty, who had calmed down.]
Sue: "Awww... Did that big scary man frighten poor Marty?"
Lori: "Miss Sue, don't you think that was a bit harsh?"
Sue: "Don't mind him, Lori. He clearly needs some time to cool down before he returns home. Nobody ever said that taking care of a baby was easy... Especially for people his age."
[Lori simply glared at Sue, but said nothing as she sat back on the couch. It was quite obvious to her that Bobby and Lincoln might have a point about that nurse. She was simply too controlling to be taking care of her baby.]
Later, at the Loud House...
[Most of the Loud Family and Ronnie Anne were sitting in the dining room having wiener schnitzel for dinner as per usual on Wednesdays when there was a knock at the door.]
Leni: "I got it!"
[Leni got up from her seat and walked over to the door. Once she opened the door, she shrieked as she saw someone in a mask and gloves before slamming the door in the person's face.]
Leni: "Guys, there's some masked freak at the door!"
Lisa: "Hold on a second! Let me take a look!"
[Lisa got off her seat at the kiddie table and walked over to the door.]
Lisa: "Assistance, second-eldest sibling."
[Leni lifted Lisa onto her shoulders as the young genius looked through one of the small windows of the door and adjusted her glasses as she carefully examined the guy in the mask.]
Leni: "Is that person going to rob us?"
Lisa: "Incorrect, Leni. It is only Roberto in what appears to be a hospital mask and protective gloves."
Leni: "Oh..."
Lisa: "My apologies for my second-eldest female sibling's response, Roberto! You have our permission to come in!"
Bobby: "Gracias."
[Leni unlocked the door, and Bobby walked in before sitting at the table with the family.]
Bobby: "Sorry for the scare, everyone. I needed someplace to stay for a while."
Lynn: "What happened? Did Lori kick you out of the apartment?"
Bobby: "Not exactly... The nurse was the one who kicked me out. Said that I needed time to think after scaring Marty. That woman is a real piece of work!"
Ronnie Anne: "I assume she had something to do with you looking like a mad doctor?"
Bobby: "How could you tell? But anyway, I can't seem to get this mask off."
[Bobby reached behind his head and tried to untie the mask, but the knot was too tight. The Loud siblings all felt bad for Bobby for being treated so unfairly, and they couldn't help but think about what Lori might be going through as well.]
Lincoln: "Come on upstairs, Bobby. We'll get those off of you."
[Lincoln and Ronnie Anne got off their chairs before guiding Bobby up the stairs and into Lincoln's room. Once Lincoln shut the door, he and Ronnie Anne helped remove Bobby's mask.]
Bobby: "Thanks, you guys. I swear, I feel like that woman is trying to turn my own son against me!"
[Bobby sighed and sat on Lincoln's bed before putting his hands on his head.]
Bobby: "I'm starting to think that hiring her was a bad idea."
[Lincoln and Ronnie Anne both sat beside Bobby on the bed.]
Ronnie Anne: "Have you ever considered firing that shrew?"
Bobby: "No, because we still need help with Marty until the week is up. Lori really insists on letting this whole thing run its course."
Ronnie Anne: "So does everyone else, but Lincoln and I are having our doubts about it."
[Lincoln thought for a moment before something came up.]
Lincoln: "Why don't we pay Pop-Pop a visit? Maybe he'll have something to say about Sue."
Bobby: "Alright then, Bro. I'll drive you down to Sunset Canyon."
[With that, Bobby and Lincoln got up from the bed and started leaving the room. Bobby stopped in the doorway and looked back at Ronnie Anne, who was still sitting on the bed.]
Lincoln: "You coming with us, Ronnie Anne?"
Ronnie Anne: "Nah, you boys go on ahead. I'll just stick around here until you get back."
[Bobby left the room and Lincoln followed him down the stairs. As soon as the two boys were outside, they got in Kathy with Lincoln sitting in the passenger seat. Bobby then pulled out of the driveway before driving to Sunset Canyon.]
Meanwhile, at Bobby and Lori's apartment...
[Lori sat on the couch watching The Dream Boat on the TV as she held Marty in her arms while Sue continued to roam the apartment looking for anything to clean. As the show went to commercial, Lori looked down at her son.]
Lori: "You don't think your daddy is scary, do you?"
[Marty simply gurgled as he looked up at his mother.]
Lori: "I know you don't, Marty. He's very sweet... Just like you."
[Lori rubbed her nose against Marty's, making the baby giggle in delight.]
"You still worried about Robert?"
[Lori turned her head and saw Sue standing beside the couch.]
Lori: "His name is Bobby and I'm sure he would never abandon us."
Sue: "Well, with a teen father, you can never be too sure about that."
Lori: "Teen father? We're both 18 now, so-"
[Before Lori could finish, there was a knock on the door.]
Sue: "That better be him."
[Sue walked over to the door and looked through the peephole to find an African-American woman standing outside.]
Sue: "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
Deidre: "I just dropped by for a visit. I live next door to Lori, you see, and I-"
Sue: "Sorry, ma'am... No visitors as long as I'm around. You'll have to try again next week."
[Deidre sighed and walked away from the door.]
Sue: "No, I'm afraid your boyfriend is still roaming about. Probably getting drunk with some of his guy friends or something."
Lori: "I doubt it, Nurse Sue. Bobby's not really the drinking type."
Sue: "I tell you, when a kid his age drinks so much on a regular basis, he could potentially do harm to your precious baby."
[Sue crossed her arms and looked down at the floor as she spoke quietly and darkly.]
Sue: "And I've seen such a thing happen once in my lifetime."
[Now, Lori was curious about what Sue just said.]
Lori: "Really? Who were these people and what did they do?"
[Sue snapped out of her thoughts before looking over at Lori.]
Sue: "Never mind about me, Lori! You should be more concerned about taking good care of your child, and I need to make sure that you and Robert don't mess up. Am I clear?"
[Lori sighed.]
Lori: "Yes... Good call, Sue."
Sue: "Alright. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to use the bathroom. Don't go anywhere until I come back."
[And just like that, Sue made her way to the bathroom and shut the door. Lori still didn't know what Sue witnessed before or when it happened, but she decided not to inquire about it any further at the moment as she went back to watching her show.]
[Sue sat on the closed toilet as she pondered things.]
Sue: "Looks like things are off to a good start. Now that I banned those two little brats from this place, albeit temporarily, I feel like I am in charge once again. I just need to wait for one of those teens to make one sudden move that'll be enough to discredit them as the baby's parental figures. Once they both slip up, they'll have no choice but to hand him over to me. And once this is all over, I'll need a place to raise him as I did for Sasha."
[Sue then reached into her pocket and got her cell phone. She then looked up some caller IDs until one of them got her attention.]
Sue: "And I think I know just the person who can help me out."
Meanwhile...
[In a luxurious living room surrounded by trophies, a muscular woman in her early 40's sat in her fancy chair watching a golf tournament on her television. Her blonde hair was tied in a bun and she wore a black training bra along with matching black shorts, all just to show off the muscles in her arms and legs from all her years of exercising.]
Woman: "Come on, Forest! You can make the putt! Stop being a goddamn coward of a man and focus, for fuck's sake!"
[Just then, the woman's cellphone rang in her pocket. She took it out and checked the caller ID to see a familiar name before answering the call and putting the phone to her ear.]
Woman: "Heya, Suzy! What's the newsy?"
Sue: "I'm doing fine, Gloria... How's Indianapolis?"
[Gloria Vittorio Pietersen was a bodybuilder of Italian and Nordic descent who had won many sports tournaments in her life, including golf.]
Gloria: "Ah, Indianapolis, a hell of a town. The crime rate's up and the law enforcement's down. I'm just glad I'm enjoying my retirement."
Sue: "Well, good to know that you're doing well... Unlike me."
Gloria: "Ah, Jesus. What the hell happened to you?"
[Sue took a deep breath before explaining her recent predicament to Gloria right up to the part where she got fired.]
Gloria: "So, you got pink-slipped and kicked to the curb like it was nothing? And now your daughter refuses to say one word to you over it? Sorry about that."
Sue: "No, Glory, none of it was your fault. But... I know how to get back on the public's good side."
Gloria: "Great! And how does that involve me exactly?"
Sue: "Well, I took a job as a temp nurse for this young couple to help take care of their newborn baby."
Gloria: "You don't say? How young are we talking?"
Sue: "I'd say about 18. Way too young for parenting in my opinion."
Gloria: "You need me to round up our old gal pals from high school?"
Sue: "No need to, Glory. Besides, I'm pretty sure they've all moved on since those days."
Gloria: "Not me. I've hardly changed a bit. You know you can count on old Glory P to help ya in any way possible."
Sue: "I can see that. All the same, I just need to convince those kids that they're incapable of raising a baby at their age."
Gloria: "Like how you convinced your mom that she was old and frail?"
Sue: "Oh, come on, Glory. That bitch deserved every single word of it."
Gloria: "True. But what about the baby?"
Sue: "As soon as both of his parents are convinced, I'll take the baby with me. But I can't take him back to my apartment since I'm giving it to my Sasha."
[Sue's face fell when she mentioned her daughter's name.]
Sue: "Hopefully, she will accept it despite not being on speaking terms with me."
Gloria: "And where will you be going after that?"
[Sue poked up as she snapped back to reality.]
Sue: "Well, until I get myself a new place to call home, I might have to stay at your place until then, if you don't mind that is."
Gloria: "Of course not, Suey. My pad is your pad."
Sue: "Thanks, Gloria. I really appreciate the help on this. I will be taking this one day at a time, and as soon as I'm done, I'll give you a call or text. Got it?"
Gloria: "Yeah, yeah, sure. You just let me know when it's time and I will get the place set up for ya. I'll see you later."
Sue: "Alright, bye."
[And with that, Sue hung up and put the phone back in her pocket. She then got off the toilet and exited the bathroom as she thought about Gloria.]
Sue: My God... I must be crazy asking for Gloria's help again.
Later, at Sunset Canyon...
[When they arrived, Bobby and Lincoln entered the building and were greeted by the new head nurse, who was Sue's daughter. The curly-haired young woman had a cheerful smile on her face as she looked at the two visitors.]
Sasha: "Hello there, boys. What can I do for you?"
Lincoln: "We're here to visit my grandfather Albert Booke."
Sasha: "Of course. He's having lunch in the cafeteria. Right this way."
Lincoln: "Thanks."
[Lincoln and Bobby followed Sasha to the cafeteria. On the way there, Lincoln spoke to Bobby.]
Lincoln: "I guess Pop-Pop wasn't lying about the new head nurse."
Bobby: "Yeah, she seems like a pretty nice woman."
Sasha: "Why thank you, boys. I get plenty of compliments from the other elderly residents around here."
[Finally, they arrived in the cafeteria where Albert sat at a table with Myrtle.]
Sasha: "Albert, your grandson's here to see you."
Albert: "Thank you, Sasha. That'll be all for now."
[As Sasha walked away, Albert stood up as Lincoln walked over to his grandfather and gave him a hug while the older man hugged him back.]
Albert: "It's good to see ya again, Lincoln! So what brings you and Bobby back here?"
Bobby: "You remember that nurse that used to work here, Mr. Booke?"
Albert: "Sasha's mother? Sue? Of course. What about her?"
Bobby: "Well, now she's at my apartment and she's making our lives hell."
Lincoln: "She even threw out my chocolates and my gift to Marty as well as Ronnie Anne's gift."
Bobby: "And she's not allowing any visitors until the week is over."
Lincoln: "That includes me, Ronnie Anne, and the rest of the family."
[Albert sighed once he had heard everything.]
Albert: "Oh boy. I guess she hasn't gotten over the fact that she's been laid off."
Myrtle: "You poor dears. Why don't you sit down with us?"
[Bobby and Lincoln looked at each other before taking their seats on the vacant chairs at the table.]
Myrtle: "You know, Sasha tells us that her mother's been through quite a lot in the past, but that still shouldn't justify her behavior."
[Just then, they heard the sobs of an old woman coming from another table. Lincoln and Bobby turned to the source and saw an elderly Asian couple at their table. The woman cried as her husband comforted her while looking very forlorn himself.]
Albert: "Oh, that's just Mr. and Mrs. Xiu. Their grandson died in the line of duty while trying to stop Alex and they're still grieving."
Lincoln: "So, those people were Officer Lang's grandparents?"
Albert: "Yep... Lang had been taking care of them ever since he hit adulthood just as they took care of him as a lad before that."
Myrtle: "But since Lang has kicked the bucket, we've decided to let his grandparents live here with us. They still need time to heal their wounds."
Albert: "But enough about them for right now, guys. I think I better tell you the story of what happened here these past few days."
[Lincoln and Bobby listened as Albert cleared his throat and began to tell his story.]
Albert: "It all started about one week ago."
February 15th...
[Albert sat on his bed watching the news coverage on the biker attack in Royal Woods as he had a look of concern on his face while holding the remote in his hand.]
Albert: "I was just laying in my bed, keeping tabs on the news regarding Alex Santiago and his gang attacking our town. I had every right to be worried, you know? But that was when Sue walked in."
[At that moment, Sue came into the room in her calm demeanor.]
Sue: "Hey there, Albert. I hope you're doing okay."
[Sue then looked at the TV and turned it off before looking back at the old man.]
Sue: "I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, Albert. Everyone is safe and sound as long as they don't go outside."
Albert: "But my family could be in danger out there! I have to see if they're all okay!"
Sue: "I think we better leave that to the authorities. You just stay nice and cozy in bed. You need all the rest you can get."
[And with that, Sue left the room and shut the door. All Albert could do was sigh as he thought about his family.]
Albert: "Little did Sue or anyone else know that there would be a pretty nasty surprise waiting for all of us."
[A few minutes after Sue's check-in, Albert got out of his bed and slowly walked over to the door. He then put his ear to the door and heard heavy footsteps passing by from outside.]
Albert: "A few minutes later, as I was contemplating on what to do next, I heard footsteps passing by as I put my ear to the door. Judging by the way they sounded, I could tell that those didn't belong to Sue or any of the other staff."
[Albert decided that he had enough and took a peek outside the room.]
Albert: "When I peeked through the door, I saw a biker with a shotgun patrolling the hallway. I even saw another one go into Myrtle's room and drag her out of it."
[Myrtle kicked and shouted as the second biker dragged her down the hallway. Albert's eyes widened at Myrtle's kidnapping before he quietly shut the door again. Albert then hid beside the door as he waited for one of the bikers to enter.]
Albert: "As soon as one of those bikers was right outside the door, I grabbed the sucker and dragged him into my room before disarming him. Then I locked the door in case any of his friends tried coming in."
[As soon as the biker entered the room, Albert grabbed him before shutting the door and locking it. Albert then took the biker's shotgun and aimed it at him, forcing the thug to put his hands up and get down on his knees.]
Biker: "Wait a minute, old man! Don't shoot!"
Albert: "Who the hell are you?! And just what the hell is going on out there?!"
Biker: "Hey, man! I'm just following orders from Weaver! He's the punk kid leading us in the cafeteria!"
Albert: "Is that where my girlfriend is going?"
Biker: "Yeah! Weaver and his crew have almost all the residents and staff rounded up! He wants them all to submit to him as soon as they're all gathered, or else he'll kill them!"
[At that moment, the door burst open and two more bikers entered the room before one of them aimed his shotgun and shot the captive biker in the chest, killing him. They then aimed their guns at Albert, who raised his hands and dropped his shotgun before slowly getting down on his knees.]
Biker: "You know too much, old man!"
[The biker then approached Albert and searched him as he kept his gun aimed at him.]
Albert: "What's going on down there?! What does this Weaver guy want?!"
Biker 2: "If you want to see everyone alive, you will join them all in the cafeteria! If not, then you can die right here!"
[Albert thought for a moment before giving the bikers his answer.]
Albert: "Fine, you leather-jacketed punks! You got me! Just take me downstairs and let's get this over with!"
Biker: "Wise choice!"
[Suddenly, a silenced shot went right through the first biker's shoulder before he dropped his gun and fell to the floor. Almost immediately, Albert slammed his elbow into the other biker's jaw and swiped his gun from his hands before punching him in the face a few times and throwing him down onto the floor like a wrestler, knocking him out. After getting on one knee and taking a few deep breaths, Albert looked up to see a familiar old man of medium build with aviator shades as he held a silenced pistol in his right hand while looking over one of the bikers, who had just passed out due to blood loss.]
Albert: "Upon looking at the man's appearance, I knew that I recognized him from my past."
[At that moment, the old man with the shades looked over at Albert.]
Mr. Dupree: "You okay there, soldier?"
Albert: "Agent Dupree?"
Mr. Dupree: "On your feet, Booke!"
[Albert immediately got back on his feet as he stood in front of Mr. Dupree and gave him an military salute.]
Albert: "Sergeant Booke reporting for duty, sir!"
Mr. Dupree: "At ease, Sergeant."
[Albert lowered his salute before Mr. Dupree shut the door and leaned against it.]
Mr. Dupree: "There will be time for formal reunions at a later date. But right now, I came here to inform you of some news of the utmost urgency... News that concerns your family."
Albert: "What news? What's going on around here? And what happened to my family?!
Mr. Dupree: "It has come to my attention that Royal Woods has come under attack by a massive army of bikers! They are causing death and destruction all over downtown, and a small group of them managed to take over this very building just now!"
Albert: "But what about my family, Lester? Are they alright?"
Mr. Dupree: "There's no easy way to say this to you, Albert, but..."
[Mr. Dupree sighed.]
Mr. Dupree: "I'm afraid they've all been captured by their leader, Alex Santiago. He's the one who's orchestrated the attack on the town, and is most likely taking everyone to his base of operations by now."
[Albert's eyes widened before anger took over him.]
Albert: "What?! Nobody lays a finger on my family and gets away with it! This means war!"
Mr. Dupree: "Hold your horses, Sergeant! Before we do anything, we need a battle plan if we want to save your family."
Albert: "Alright! But we have to save everyone here first!"
Mr. Dupree: "As you wish, Sergeant. But we have to work fast!"
Albert: "Yes, Sir! Just let me get into my service uniform."
[With that, Albert went into his closet and changed his attire to his navy uniform before he and Mr. Dupree left the room and headed for the cafeteria. On the way there, the two old men subdued a few more bikers and rescued the residents that managed to stay hidden before locking the captured bikers in room closets.]
[Finally, Albert and Mr. Dupree approached the cafeteria to see a group of bikers holding most of the residents and staff members at gunpoint. Scoots laid on the floor as her scooter was on its side, Seymour and Gayle laid on the floor as they held each other's hands, Sasha looked heartbroken, and Myrtle was on her knees. The leader of the biker group looked to be a male in his mid to late 20's as he wore a leather jacket like most of his cronies and sported a mohawk on his head.]
Albert: "The guy leading that little group was some rebel kid by the name of Weaver. I couldn't see Sue anywhere in the crowd, so at the time, I assumed that she managed to slip out unnoticed somehow."
[Albert's eyes widened when he saw Myrtle among the hostages.]
Albert: "With the amount of biker men and women that bigshot had helping him, Mr. Dupree and I couldn't take it to 'em ourselves. We just had to get a few guys to help us out."
[Albert and Mr. Dupree rallied some of the residents that hid in their rooms, most of whom were war veterans, and supplied them with some of the weapons that were used by the invading bikers.]
[After gaining enough followers and taking up arms, Albert's group managed to launch a surprise attack on Weaver's group by throwing a smoke grenade at them, disorienting their view. In the confusion, Albert and his group charged at the bikers before fighting and disarming them while Scoots started crawling away from the chaos.]
Weaver: "The fuck is this?!"
[As the fight raged on, Albert and his group managed to grab the bikers' weapons and give them to some of the hostages, allowing them to join the fight. Among the captured residents that joined the fight were Myrtle, who threw down on the biker that captured her before throwing him against another, and Seymour, having served with Albert in Vietnam, physically hitting a few bikers with his rifle.]
[At that moment, Weaver pulled out a Glock 17 and aimed it at Albert, ready to put an end to his rescue.]
Weaver: "You're going down, old man!"
[Suddenly, Scoots charged at Weaver on her scooter before running him over.]
Scoots: "Scoot scoot, motherfucker!"
Weaver: "Argh! Crazy old bitch!"
[Finally, after nearly a minute of fighting, the disarmed bikers retreated to the doors, trampling over their downed leader on the way out. Almost immediately, Weaver got back on his knees as he tried ordering his comrades to stop.]
Weaver: "Hey! Where are you assholes going?! They're just a bunch of old farts!"
[Weaver slowly got back on his feet as he continued calling out to his goons. But without his gun, he was practically naked.]
Weaver: "C'mon, chickenshits! Don't leave me hanging!"
[Upon hearing the sound of someone clearing their throat behind him, Weaver slowly turned around and found himself surrounded by all of the residents with guns in their hands before his controlling demeanor was replaced with fear as he was now outnumbered and outgunned. The young biker leader wet his pants and whimpered like a scared puppy as Albert marched over to him.]
Weaver: "Mommy..."
[Albert leaned over to Weaver's ear before whispering into it.]
Albert: "This is the part where you make like a headless chicken and run, mother-clucker."
[With that, Weaver screamed and ran out the doors and as far away as he could from the retirement home. The residents and staff cheered for Albert and Dupree for driving the bikers out of the retirement home.]
Albert: "We sure took it too 'em, Lester!"
Mr. Dupree: "I'll say! And with hardly any casualties, too!"
[When Albert and Mr. Dupree made their way into the cafeteria, he faced the residents and staff.]
Albert: "Alright everyone, listen up! As you may have heard, our town is under siege by an army of crazed bikers, and the man who unleashed it, Alex Santiago, is holding my family hostage! My old superior officer and I are going out there, and then we're going to locate his hiding place and we're gonna take it to those pig-headed biker punks! We won't stop until every last one of them is out of our town and Santiago's terror campaign will be nothing but a distant memory!"
[Everyone cheered again as Albert smiled.]
Sue: "Excuse me!"
[At that moment, Albert and Mr. Dupree heard a door creaking open and turned their heads to see Sue coming out of the hall closet and walking over to the two old men as nearly everyone else stopped cheering for a moment glared at her while Sasha simply turned away and folded her arms.]
Sue: "You're not seriously going out there, are you, Albert? Why, you could get killed. I suggest going back to your room. I'm sure the police will have everything under control by nightfall."
Mr. Dupree: "Yeah, sure... And I'm sure you did a real good job protecting everyone in this building."
Sue: "And just what are you implying, sir? Do I know you?"
[Mr. Dupree walked over to Sue as he glared at her.]
Mr. Dupree: "Of course you don't! But you also don't know someone as brave as Albert Booke! You see, I served in Vietnam before you were even born, and I've seen men risk their lives to protect their comrades in the field! Men who have sacrificed so much for their country! Men like Albert Booke, who helped evacuate people during the Fall of Saigon! You, on the other hand, have done nothing but hide in your little cubicle and tried to ride things out while your fellow staff and patients get taken out one by one by criminals! And you have the gall to feign concern over this man here?! This man who has served his country and helped his teammates long before you were even thought of?! You're no protector of the elderly! You are nothing but a pathetic, spineless coward!"
[Reaching her boiling point, Sue marched back into the closet and slammed the door shut before letting out a scream. Both Albert and Mr. Dupree cringed at the shrill noise.]
Mr. Dupree: "Jesus, that woman is loud!"
Albert: "That ain't the first time I've seen her lose it. But I think that's the first time I heard her scream. And something tells me that I shouldn't be here when she comes out."
[Mr. Dupree then walked over to the door and locked it, trapping Sue inside the closet.]
Sue: "What the hell is this?! Hey! You open this door right now!"
[Sue started banging on the door wanting to be let out.]
Mr. Dupree: "Better safe than sorry. C'mon, Al. I think it's best if we get away from this person."
[Albert and Mr. Dupree slowly walked away from the closet door before heading for the cafeteria as Sue started banging even harder.]
Sue: "Open this door, or so help me God, I will have you both committed! I WILL do it! This wouldn't be the first time I've done so!"
[Scoots quickly backed her scooter into the door so hard that it knocked Sue down onto the floor.]
Scoots: "Aaaaaaaaah, shaddap, Shrew!"
[As Albert and Mr. Dupree were about to leave, Bernie spoke up.]
Bernie: "You need any more help out there, Al?"
Seymour: "You just say the word, Al, and we're right behind you!"
[Just then, Scoots drove up to Albert.]
Scoots: "Count me in! Those punks are gonna pay for invading our home!"
[Albert turned around and spoke to the other residents.]
Albert: "No thanks, everyone. I think Dupree and I will take care of this ourselves. But if you all want to help, you will stay here and defend this place in case any more of those bikers show up! Do whatever it takes to protect yourselves until the police arrive!"
[Everyone agreed while Myrtle ran over to Albert.]
Myrtle: "You be careful out there, Sergeant."
[Myrtle gave Albert a kiss on the lips, and the old man grinned.]
Albert: "Careful is my middle name, sweetheart."
Scoots: "Barf. Just hop to it already, Al!"
Albert: "She's right! My family needs me! So there's no time to lose!"
Mr. Dupree: "Alright, Booke! Let's move it out! FORWARD MARCH!"
[With that, Albert and Mr. Dupree started marching towards the front door like soldiers going off to fight in a war as the residents and staff cheered them on before the two men are finally out the doors.]
Back in the Present...
Albert: "So, that's pretty much what happened around here before we came to your aid."
[Bobby and Lincoln were stunned over the whole story.]
Lincoln: "Wow... So Sue actually hid herself to avoid capture from Alex's bikers?"
Albert: "You heard me loud and clear, Lincoln."
Myrtle: "You should've seen how brave your Pop-Pop was back then, Lincoln. He handled that whole group of punks with hardly a scratch. Of course, I helped too. I used to be a secret agent back in my younger days, you know?"
Bobby: "No kidding?"
Albert: "I can imagine you know what happened following that fiasco. Dupree and I saved your bacon from that crazy woman and then we hooked up with your mother and Dee before you all set off to rescue the others."
Bobby: "Then Sue was fired from Sunset Canyon sometime while Lori was giving birth, right? I heard your phone chat with Myrtle in Lori's room."
Albert: "That's right, kid, and I'm willing to bet she's looking for an excuse to make you and Lori look awful."
Lincoln: "That's exactly what I was thinking."
Albert: "In any case, I'd keep a sharp eye on Sue if I were you, Bobby. A woman of her mindset could do anything nutty. And if she gets her way, it could tear your family apart."
Lincoln: "Well, if that's the case, then we better do something about it!"
Albert: "As you should. Sue ain't worthy of being Marty's nurse, or anyone's nurse for that matter. If you can find a way to stop her, she'll think twice about abusing her position."
Bobby: "Don't worry about it, Mr. Booke. As a father, I won't let Sue dictate my family life like that."
Albert: "I know you won't, Bobby. I've heard you've had it rough living under that monster of a father, but I'm proud that you want to do everything in your power to protect your family. And as your future grandfather-in-law, I salute you for it."
[And Albert did just that.]
Bobby: "Gracias, Señor Boo- I mean Abuelo. I've made a promise to be a better boyfriend and father to Lori and Marty, and the last thing I want to do is break that promise."
Albert: "That's good to hear, soldier. Well, I won't keep you and Lincoln here for much longer. You best be off now."
Sasha: "I'll escort them back to the front room, Mr. Booke. If you don't mind?"
Albert: "Of course not, Sasha. You've been really gracious to them since they got here."
Sasha: "Thank you."
[And with that, Lincoln and Bobby left the cafeteria and followed Sasha to the exit. On the way there, Sasha's cheerful outlook turned into depression as she spoke.]
Sasha: "I heard what you and your grandfather were saying about my mother earlier. Just... Don't be too hard on her, okay? She's been through a lot more than you can ever imagine."
Bobby: "But, she-"
Sasha: "I know, but... Let's not talk about that anymore, okay? It's too upsetting for me."
[And with that, Bobby and Lincoln decided to stay quiet until they were outside. They didn't want to risk getting on the young woman's bad side, especially when it concerns her mother.]
[As they drove back to the Loud House, Lincoln spoke up.]
Lincoln: "I still can't believe that Sue could be that cowardly."
Bobby: "Yeah, and now that I heard your grandfather's full story, my perspective on that woman is kind of at an all time low."
Lincoln: "I tell you, Bobby, after what Pop-Pop just told us, I have a really bad feeling about this. I think I need to have a talk with Ronnie Anne about this the minute I get home. And then we'll speak to my other sisters later. If anything happens to you or Lori, we'll need to have a plan of action in case Sue does anything rash."
Bobby: "Good idea, lil' bro. I'll go and speak with Lori, too. Hopefully we can figure out the best way of letting Sue go."
[After dropping Lincoln off at his house, Bobby drove back to Carlisle Park Apartments. Lincoln then walked to the front door before turning around to face the readers.]
Lincoln: "I just have to get Ronnie Anne, my sisters, and maybe Clyde on board with me on this as well. If Sue gets her way, Bobby and Lori might lose Marty... and so could I. I just hope that Bobby and Lori can stand up to her soon."
[Lincoln then opened the door and went into the house.]
Later, at Bobby and Lori's apartment...
[Lori sat on the couch as she watched Marty taking a nap in his bassinet beside her.]
[At that moment, Bobby had finally returned home. Lori stood up before approaching her boyfriend.]
Lori: "Bobby, where have you been? I was literally worried about you!"
Bobby: "I stopped by your family's house for a while, then Lincoln and I paid a visit to your grandfather. We talked about Sue for a little bit, and uh..."
[Bobby looked around for a brief moment before whispering into Lori's ear.]
Bobby: "Is that nurse around?"
Lori: "She's busy tidying up the nursery."
Bobby: "Bueno, because there's something I need to tell-"
Lori: "Hang on... I have something I need to get off my chest as well."
Bobby: "On three if you're thinking what I'm thinking."
[Bobby and Lori both counted before speaking softly.]
Bobby and Lori: "1... 2... 3... Sue is driving me crazy."
[Lori leaned towards Bobby's ear and whispered into it.]
Lori: "I'm going to be honest with you, Bobby, Sue is a literal pain in the ass and my patience with her is wearing thin at this point. If I could, I would've had her fired on the spot."
[Lori sighed.]
Lori: "I'm sorry that I ever hired that shrew in the first place."
Bobby: "It's okay, babe. Neither of us could have known. But thanks to your abuelo and Lincoln, I think we learned a little something about her."
Lori: "What's that?"
Bobby: "She wanted to leave her own patients to the mercy of Alex's gang."
Lori: "She did? Well that literally settles it! She is definitely out of here. I'm not going to risk her neglecting our baby."
Bobby: "So when do we tell Sue the news?"
Lori: "I don't think she knows yet, so we'll let her continue for the day and see how it goes. But tomorrow morning, she literally has got to go. No excuses."
Bobby: "Good idea."
[Bobby wrapped his arms around Lori's waist before looking into her eyes.]
Bobby: "By the way, I'm sure that my presence should lift your spirits a little bit."
[Bobby then leaned over to Lori's neck and started kissing it, making her giggle.]
Lori: "It most certainly does. But let's be careful, okay? The baby's sleeping."
Bobby: "Don't worry, babe. Besides, it's not like Sue can prohibit us from doing what we want."
[And with that, Bobby and Lori locked lips and started making out. After a few seconds, Lori then wrapped her arms around Bobby's waist as their kissing went on.]
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything."
[Lori and Bobby broke from their kissing and turned to see Sue standing by the hallway with a smirk on her face and her hands on her hips.]
Lori: "No, Sue. I was just welcoming Bobby back."
[Sue then turned her attention to Bobby.]
Sue: "Well, it's good to see that you've finally returned home, Robert. And just in time for curfew, too. I am impressed. But whatever happened to your protection? I put it on you for a good reason, you know?"
Bobby: "I guess I must've left them over at the Loud House. As a matter of fact, the mask you gave me was a little too tight."
Sue: "The mask and gloves were supposed to keep your family protected from your germs, Robert, and there you are trying to spread them to your partner. Yuck!"
[Bobby felt triggered by what the nurse just said.]
Bobby: "So, let me get this straight; You have a problem with how Lori and I show our affection towards each other?"
Sue: "What I'm saying is that you should be more careful with how you show it. You might even be carrying STDs, for Heaven's sake!"
Bobby: "But I've never had any-"
[Lori stepped between her boyfriend and Sue.]
Lori: "Will you both stop, please? You'll wake up the baby."
Sue: "Your girlfriend is making sense here, Robert. You're going to disturb the baby if you start yelling."
[Bobby looked over at Marty for a moment. The baby was still napping in his bassinet. But Bobby knew that he had to protect Lori and their son from whatever Sue was planning to do. So, gathering up his courage from within and taking Lori by the hand, Bobby looked back at Sue and spoke softly.]
Bobby: "You know, Miss Sue, Mr. Booke told me and Lincoln about you."
Sue: "Oh, did he now?"
Bobby: "Si... He told us that you hid from a cell of my ex-padre's biker group while they held the people you were supposed to care for as hostages!"
Sue: "And what right do you have to criticize how I run things?"
[Bobby took Lori's hand as he continued to speak.]
Bobby: "Well, Lori and I both have our rights, and we have something we'd like to say to you. We were going to wait until tomorrow morning to tell you, but considering what we've learned about you, I think now's as good a time as any."
Sue: "Really? And what might that be, Robert?"
[Bobby took a deep breath and exhaled before he began to speak.]
Bobby: "Miss Sue... As of today, you are fi... fuh... Ah... Ah..."
[Before Bobby could give Sue the axing phrase, he covered his mouth with his free hand as he let out a nearly muffled sneeze. Unfortunately, this sneeze was loud enough to wake the baby as he stirred for a bit.]
Bobby: "Aw, dang it..."
[And with that, Marty started wailing over his nap being disturbed. Lori walked over to the bassinet and lifted her crying son out of it before rocking him. Sue then glared at Bobby.]
Sue: "You couldn't just control yourself, could you, Robert?!"
Bobby: "Sorry, Sue, I was-"
Sue: "Disturbing the peace AND spreading germs! Are you really that absent-minded, Robert?!"
Bobby: "But... But... But..."
Sue: "I heard enough there is to know about you, kid... and no baby is going to have either a germ spreader or a spawn of heartless criminal scum for a father! Robert, I have no choice but to place you under quarantine, and Rule Number 5 states that you stay in quarantine until I say different!"
[Sue then grabbed Bobby by the shoulders and started pushing him towards the bedroom.]
Bobby: "Miss Sue, I'm sorry! My memory fails me sometimes."
Sue: "Oh, does it? I'll bet your memory fails you so much that you'd end up leaving your baby all alone in your car on a hot sunny day. The excessive heat from the sun could end up killing him if that happened!"
Bobby: "Please! You can't do this! I'm not a bad father!"
Sue: "Oh, not only are you a bad father, you're not a father at all! And I need to make sure nothing like this happens again!"
[Finally, Sue took Bobby into the bedroom and exited the room before shutting the door, locking it, and putting up police tape. By then, Lori had finally gotten Marty to calm down.]
Sue: "There! Now you can just stay in there and think about what you have done until the quarantine is lifted!"
[Lori tried to go in, but Sue stopped her from doing so.]
Sue: "Not so fast, Lori! This room is off limits!"
Lori: "But Sue, I sleep in there too!"
Sue: "Aw... Sharing a room with your loving partner... How romantic... If you want to catch whatever he's carrying! You want to spread it to the baby as well?"
Lori: "No...?"
Sue: "Then I suggest you sleep on the couch for the next few days."
Lori: "Literally, Sue?"
Sue: "I'll pretend I didn't hear what you and Robert were whispering about earlier. But, I promise you, when my week is finally over, you two can go back to doing what you teenagers do best... If you are able to. Trust me, it's for your own good. So there's definitely no reason to fire me like last time."
[Lori let out a defeated sigh, knowing she could not argue with the nurse any further.]
Lori: "Good call, Sue."
Sue: "Good... Now I would suggest giving the baby a bath. Your partner's germs might have gotten on him. Better to be safe than sorry, you know?"
[Lori took Marty and got him ready for a bath in the kitchen sink while Sue looked on with her arms crossed.]
Sue: Try to fire me, will you? Well tough luck, Miss Loud. I'm not going down that easily this time. You can keep up that caring mother act for as long as you want, but I know what you're really capable of! Once you make your final move, your child WILL belong to me! I am more of a mother than you could ever be!
[From that moment on, Sue kept a closer eye on Lori. And with Bobby in quarantined confinement, Sue was now more determined than ever to ensure that Lori fails as a mother.]
Meanwhile, at the Loud House...
[Lincoln was sitting with Ronnie Anne on his bed as he explained to her what he knew about Sue. Once he had finished telling her everything, the young Santiago girl was at a loss for words.]
Ronnie Anne: "So let me get this straight: Nurse Sue actually hid herself in a broom closet while a group of Alex's thugs took over your abuelo's home?"
Lincoln: "Pretty much, Ronnie Anne."
[Having learned Sue's past actions, Ronnie Anne growled in anger.]
Ronnie Anne: "How can Lori and Bobby hire that cowardly snob of a nurse?! She's gonna ruin everything!"
Lincoln: "Go easy on them, Ronnie Anne. They had no idea what they were in for."
Ronnie Anne: "Well, all the same, if we don't do something about it now, Marty could get taken away! Or worse!"
Lincoln: "I know. But first, we need to find out exactly what she's planning. And since we can't go into Lori and Bobby's apartment, we're gonna need to figure out a way to spy on Sue without her seeing us."
[Ronnie Anne sighed as she thought.]
Ronnie Anne: "Why don't we ask Lisa about it? She might have something useful enough to help us."
Lincoln: "She might have just that. We just have to inform her on what's going on. Come on."
[With that, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne both got off the bed and left the room. Then they approached the door to Lisa and Lily's room before Lincoln knocked on it. After a few seconds, Lisa opened the door and greeted her brother and honorary sister.]
Lisa: "I was expecting your arrival. Come right in."
[And just like that, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne followed Lisa into the room. Lily was standing in her crib as she focused her attention on the two 12-year-olds.]
Lisa: "So it is just as I highly suspected: Nurse Sue is presumably up to no good."
Lily: "Sue no good!"
Ronnie Anne: "Yes! Wait, how did you-?"
Lisa: "Lily and I heard you two conversing through the thin walls, you know?"
Ronnie Anne: "Oh, right... The walls. How much did you hear?"
Lisa: "Enough to raise our suspicions about Sue. The problem is that we can't do anything about it unless we actually know what her true intentions are."
Ronnie Anne: "Well, thank you for stating the obvious, Captain Einstein."
Lincoln: "We were wondering if you had anything useful for spying on Sue."
Lisa: "Say no more, male sibling. I have just the thing for you and your future significant other."
[Both Lincoln and Ronnie Anne spoke in unison in response to Lisa's comment.]
Lincoln: "She's not my girlfriend!"
Ronnie Anne: "He's not my boyfriend!"
[Lisa answered as she walked over to her closet before proceeding to rummage through it.]
Lisa: "Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but I'm only speculating."
Ronnie Anne: "Don't count on it, egghead."
Lisa: "Despite your words, one can only hope."
Lily: "Winky and Nie-Nie wovey-dovey."
[Ronnie Anne groaned in annoyance as Lily made kissing noises.]
Ronnie Anne: "Could you just give us the dang gadget already?! Marty's well-being could be at stake here!"
[Finally, after looking through some of her old contraptions and gadgets, she got out some kind of eavesdropping device along with a pair of wireless headphones before carrying them over to Lincoln and Ronnie Anne.]
Lisa: "And here it is. I hope this device will be of great use to you."
Ronnie Anne: "Perfecto! We can use it to find out what that rato in nurse's clothing is up to!"
[Ronnie Anne took the device along with the headphones.]
Lisa: "I shall inform the rest of our sisters of this new information, that is if they haven't heard already. If Sue does end up going too far with our male nibling, we'll have to set up an intervention for her."
Lincoln: "Thanks, Lisa. We'll be sure to bring this back to you once we're finished."
Lisa: "That will not be necessary, Lincoln. You keep it. It is only a prototype. I will be making a more advanced version at a later date. In the meantime, you and Ronalda are our only hope in gathering vital intelligence on the individual known as Sue, and we will need all the evidence you can get if we have any chance of putting an end to that shrew of a nurse."
Ronnie Anne: "No worries, Lise. We'll take care of everything from here."
Lily: "Winky and Nie-Nie help Maw-tee?"
Lincoln: "You can count on us, Lily. It'll probably take a matter of days, but we'll make sure that Lori, Bobby, and Marty are safe."
Ronnie Anne: "C'mon, Lame-O, let's go pay a certain snobby shrew a visit. We'll stop by Clyde's house on the way and see if he's willing to help us."
Lincoln: "Alright."
[And with that, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne left the room with the eavesdropping device.]
That night, in Apartment B4...
[Sue laid down in her bed as she thought things over. She had rented Unit B4 for the week and planned on moving out once her job was over.]
Sue: "That's one down, and only one more to go. I'm getting really good at this. Once I give Lori the failing report, both she and that idiot boyfriend of hers will no longer be able to care for the child. They'll have to allow me to care for him solely after that. Things will soon be back to how they used to be."
[As she laid in bed, she over looked at a picture on the end table that showed a family of three. There was a younger Sue along with a man of medium build and a little girl, which was Sasha. The man in the photo appeared to be Sue's husband. As she looked at the photo, her mind thought back to that conversation during the police sweep at Sunset Canyon.]
Sue: "Sasha, thank God you're alright!"
Sasha: "Where the hell were you, mother? Why couldn't you just give yourself up to them?"
Sue: "What was I supposed to do? Take them all on?! They would've shot you if I tried that! How could I live with myself if that happened?!"
Sasha: "And yet, you can live with leaving me and countless others at their mercy?! Dad was right... You always have to pick on those weaker than you!"
Sue: "Please, don't do this to be, Sasha. If there was another way to save you, I would've gladly taken it."
Sasha: "Enough! Just stay away from me, mother... I don't want to hear anymore from you..."
Sue: "Please don't go! I don't want to be alone! Not again!"
[Sue had tears in her eyes as she thought back to that memory.]
Sue: "I don't want to be alone again... Please..."
[Then she thought back further to that moment when the bikers took over Sunset Canyon.]
A few days ago, at Sunset Canyon...
[Sue had just finished checking on Albert and made her way to the cafeteria. As Sue was about to enter the cafeteria, a group of 15 bikers armed with guns suddenly showed up through the front doors and held the residents and staff at gunpoint as the ringleader shot a bullet from his pistol into the ceiling to make everyone stop.]
Weaver: "Everyone down on the fucking floor! On the floor now or I start shooting!"
[Sue gasped in horror when she saw Sasha among the hostages. But fearing getting spotted by the thugs as well as the risk of Sasha being killed as a result, the nurse went into the hallway broom closet and shut the door as quietly as she could, making herself hidden from everyone.]
[Sue sat in the dark closet with her back against the wall as she heard footsteps coming from the other side of the door. Sue braced herself for possible detection, but the footsteps passed by her until they faded. Sue heaved a sigh of relief as soon as the two patrolling bikers were out of earshot, completely unaware of Sue's presence.]
[As Sue remained where she was, her mind started flashing back to her childhood.]
[A four-year-old Sue shut herself up in the hallway closet trying to get away from her mother.]
Sue's Mother: "Where are you, Susan?! Mommy wants to talk to you! You can't keep on hiding! Come on out and take your punishment, you worthless little shit-stain!"
[Sue closed her eyes as she let the tears flow, haunted by the memories of her past.]
Sue: "No! No! No!"
Back in the present...
Sue: "NO!"
[Sue gasped and shot out of bed with tears in her eyes, overwhelmed by the memories from her childhood.]
Sue: "Why do you hate me so much? What have I ever done to you?"
[Sue then put her hands over her eyes and cried softly for a few seconds until she heard her phone vibrate on the end table. Sue then grabbed the phone and looked at it to see a new text from Gloria.]
Gloria: Hey, Suze. How's it goin over there?
[Sue wiped her eyes and shrugged off her past trauma before sending a text to Gloria.]
Sue: I managed to lock the boy in his bedroom. I just need to get his partner to stand down as well, and I'll have the rest of the week to myself. And when Tuesday rolls around, their parenthood days will be kaput and their child will be all mine!
Gloria: That's a good start, girl. I'll see ya when I see ya in person again. And I'll be sure to prepare a special room for the lil' tyke.
Sue: Thanks. You ARE going to take good care of the baby whenever I'm away. Right?
Gloria: What are ya, nuts? The fuck kind of woman do you take me for, Suzy? OF COURSE I'll take good care of it! No need to put words in my mouth! By the way, you'll be thanking me for this when I do this. Until then, you have a good night.
Sue: You too, Gloria. Bye.
[With that, Sue set the phone back on the end table and laid back down with a sigh.]
Sue: "I am not like her! I know I'm a better mother than she is! She couldn't even stand to be away from her bottles without having a fit, the drunken bitch!"
[Sue sighed again as she shifted to her side.]
Sue: "In any case, I shouldn't worry about her anymore. I still got a job to do. I just need to get that girl to stand down. And then, when my assignment ends, I'll be taking care of the baby from there... Things WILL go back to the way they used to be, even if it's with a different baby."
[With that, Sue closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, not wanting to let those criticisms get to her. Unbeknownst to her, Lincoln, Ronnie Anne, and Clyde were outside the apartment clad in their Ace Savvy costumes with the eavesdropping device they borrowed from Lisa. Ronnie Anne wore the headphones as she held the device against the apartment door while Lincoln had his walkie-talkie with Lisa on the other end.]
Ronnie Anne: "I think we got all we could get for now. Lisa's contraption really came in handy."
Lincoln: "Yeah, but we don't have enough proof to confirm our suspicions."
Ronnie Anne: "But at least we know what happened to Bobby."
[Ronnie Anne groaned in anger.]
Ronnie Anne: "I can't believe that fat ass cerda of a nurse locked up mi hermano! What the hell even gives her that right?!"
Lincoln: "Beats me, but it's like what Pop-Pop said, if something happens to Lori as well, Marty will be in trouble."
Ronnie Anne: "But how will we know when that'll happen?"
Lincoln: "I don't know for sure, but if what Sue says is true, we only have until the end of the week to stop her before she claims Marty for herself, if not sooner."
Clyde: "Guys, I know this is bad and all, but I think we better come back tomorrow and see if we'll have better luck by then. It's getting late and I want to get home before my dads start to worry."
Lincoln: "When you're right, you're right, Clyde. I better inform Lisa now."
[Lincoln then spoke to Lisa from his radio.]
Lincoln: "This is Ace Savvy to Card Counter. We've yet to find definitive proof of Sue's plans, but we just discovered that she's locked Bobby up in his room."
Lisa: "Understood, Ace Savvy. What you said about Bobby is not much, but it's a start. However, based on this information, I now fear the worst for our eldest sister and her progeny. I don't know what Sue's true intentions are with Marty, but it could cause a heavy rift in our family, or rather, Bobby and Lori's family."
Lincoln: "So, what do you suggest?"
Lisa: "Unfortunately, we cannot do anything to assist Lori at this time. All we can do for now is hope for our eldest sister to stand up to Sue on her own."
Lincoln: "But what if she CAN'T do it?"
Lisa: "Then if such an outcome should happen, we will act as the last line of defense against Sue. It will be up to us to stop her from absconding our nephew if all else fails, so we must be prepared to make our move once the moment has arrived. But for now, you and Lady Ace must report back to my bunker post haste."
Lincoln: "Roger that, Card Counter. Ace Savvy out."
[Lincoln put the radio back in his pocket before speaking to Ronnie Anne.]
Lincoln: "Let's go, Ronnie Anne and Clyde. We've done all we could for now."
[And with that, the three kids made their way back to their homes. However, as Ronnie Anne ran ahead, Lincoln stayed for a bit and turned to look at the readers.]
Lincoln: "Well, we have made little progress on learning about Sue's intentions so far, but hopefully, we'll have better luck tomorrow. I just hope that Bobby and Lori can hold out for a little longer, and Marty too. We've got to help them all before Sue has her way."
Ronnie Anne: "Let's go, Lame-O!"
Lincoln: "Bye for now."
[And with that, Lincoln went to catch up with Clyde and Ronnie Anne.]
With Bobby now in quarantined confinement, Lori is currently the only parent in her apartment allowed to care for Marty while Sue is watching. Can see get through the rest of the week without incident? Will Sue succeed in getting her out of the way as well? Is Sue really as bad as everyone says she is? Will the Loud Siblings and Ronnie Anne take action against Sue? And what does Castleton plan to do with Byung-ho's funds? Wait until next time to find out.
I also want to give an additional thanks to Maikoh Locklear for the idea of Park Byung-ho. I hope you all liked this chapter and I will see you later.
Maikoh Locklear: Thanks and no problem.
Gamelover41592: There's more on the way. Hopefully the wait won't be long.
wollyworld: Thank you.
boygenius2020: Had plenty of real-life stuff, but this is only a prelude to the next arc.
Guest: Indeed they do.
DarthWill3: Nah. I think Sue has something a little more subtle in mind.
Guest 2: As you should.
MoreABoutThomas: It might be revenge, or it might be something else.
