Jade West had just experienced something she considered horrifying.

She just had a very passionate dream about André Harris.

Something that has never happened before…

But that wasn't what troubled her. What was scaring her was the fact that she enjoyed the dream… even to the point where she moaned André's name.

How could she ever look at both Beck and André the same way after she had this dream?

"You're in love with Beck, not André." whispered Jade, trying to reassure herself, "André's just a friend. Only a friend."

She had to find something to get these thoughts out of her head. Something. Anything. Just to get keep her mind off of him.

As Jade went through her movie collection, she came across one of her favorites: My Sweet Sixteen Massacre 2: Sweet Teen Screams.

After watching the first fifteen minutes of the movie, Jade began to feel quite relaxed.

"So far, so good." she thought aloud, as the gym teacher in the movie was killed and left hanging from the basketball court's basket.

As time went by, Jade began to get sleepy, yet she quickly decided that she needed to stay awake.

"I need some coffee," she said, making her way to the kitchen.

A cup of coffee was one of the greatest things to ever exist on this planet. She didn't know why she loved it, but she loved it.

As she waited for the coffee to be done, a thought popped into her mind.

Why am I now, starting to like André… more than a friend?

He was only a good friend, who rarely annoyed her.

Yes, it was true that Jade did have a small, harmless crush on him, but that was it.

Nothing more, nothing less.

But where did it all start?

Once the coffee was done, Jade went back to her room and continued to watch the film.

One of her favorite scenes had started: The narcissistic cheerleader was being attacked by a swarm of wasps planted in her family's apartment by the killer.

To escape the agony, the cheerleader leaps from her apartment balcony and lands in the pool. She survives the jump, but she's humiliated by how the wasp stings have turned her once-perfect face grotesque.

As Jade watched the scene, something came to her mind.

Birthday party. Swimming pool. Humiliation... That's where all of this started... Beck's 14th birthday party.

Why would she have repressed this one particular memory?

It was only the first time she had met André Harris.

~ More Than Three Years Ago ~

~ Sunday, May 6th - 3:11 PM ~

It was a Sunday afternoon. Sunny, with a gentle breeze every now and then.

Jade West was on her way to her boyfriend, Beck Oliver's house.

The two have been together for about two months and today was his birthday.

Jade hated birthday parties, especially going to one. But for her new boyfriend, she made an exception.

Another reason why she was willing to go was because of all the girls who would be flirting with Beck at his party.

Beck was very easy on the eyes and Jade knew that some girls wouldn't take into consideration that "He has a girlfriend" meant "He's off limits."

But she couldn't worry about that right now, she had to focus on trying to remember how to get to his house.

Was it "turn right at the gas station, then go three blocks"? Or was it, "go straight past the gas station, then go three blocks"?

"I'll just call him," sighed Jade, as she dialed Beck's number on her PearPhone.

After waiting for a minute and receiving no answer, Jade hung up and decided to just go straight past the gas station.

It didn't take long for her to see that she chose the right way. She began to see other kids with presents going down the street.

Eventually, the group grew to the size of a large crowd.

Jade knew that Beck was popular, but she didn't know he was this popular.

A couple of minutes later, Jade and the others finally reached Beck's house.

But before she got the chance to even walk through the front door, a boy with dreads rushed into her and caused her to fall.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't see you there." said the guy, extending his hand out to her, "Are you alright?"

Jade, picking herself up from the ground, thought that the guy was being sarcastic.

"You asshole! Watch where the hell you're going!" she spat, as she shoved the guy into the bushes.

"What is the matter with you?!" asked the guy, "I said I was sorry!"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like I care," responded Jade, walking into the house.

There were so many people at this party, a majority of them Jade didn't even know.

After a while, she began to think that she would never be able to find her boyfriend.

"Jade! Over here!" yelled Beck, who was outside by the pool.

He was talking with some friends when Jade walked up.

"Glad that you made it." he said, as he hugged and kissed her, "Jade, these are some old friends of mine, Parker, and Chester."

The two guys named Chester and Parker stood there and stared at Jade. Probably thinking that she was the weirdest looking girl that they'd ever seen.

"I thought you said you had a girlfriend, not a… whatever that is," laughed Parker.

"Yeah, I didn't know you lowered your standards and chose the Blair Witch over here." chuckled Chester.

"Hey, that's enough," said Beck, getting defensive, "I don't crack any jokes about any of your girlfriends."

"That's because none of ours are freaky looking," sneered Parker, as he and Chester continued to laugh.

"It's alright, Beck. I'm pretty sure that the stray dogs they date are ten times prettier than I am." Jade said sarcastically. "Speaking of which, aren't the two of you late for your dates at the animal shelter?"

Both Parker and Chester began to get angry. They both looked as if they were coming up with a quick remark but then decided to just leave.

"Bitch." muttered Chester, as they left.

"Nah, that'll be the girls at the pound," smirked Jade, getting one last laugh.

"Don't listen to those jerks. Any real friend of mine would see that you're beautiful, no matter what," said Beck, as he once again kissed Jade.

At that moment, Beck's dad walked up to the two of them.

"Hello... Jade. Uh, Beck, your grandparents are on the phone." he said, as he looked uncomfortably at Jade.

It was probably because the last time Jade was at their house, their dinner was ruined by her constant talk of blood and gore, and their friendly game of Life was turned into a discussion about how life always ends in death.

"Oh, okay. Jade, I'll be right back," said Beck, as he left to go back into the house.

While Jade walked around the area, she noticed that both Chester and Parker were following her.

"What the hell do you two want?" she asked, turning around to face them.

"Oh, not much," said Parker.

"Just one question: can you swim?" asked Chester.

"Of course, I can… I just don't like being in the water is all," she said, turning around to leave.

Without warning, Chester and Parker ran up behind Jade, picked her up, and tossed her into the pool.

The rest of the partygoers suddenly riled up in laughter; not one of them even tried to help Jade get out of the pool.

She despised the sensation of being drenched while fully clothed. She felt like a mess.

Jade, despite her tough exterior, was embarrassed on the inside.

I knew I shouldn't have come to this party. It was a big, big mistake.

"No, no, no. You're gonna stay right there and swim for us," said Parker, preventing her from getting out.

"That's right, freak! You're gonna-" started Chester, as someone pushed them into the pool.

Thank goodness, it's Beck.

But it wasn't him. Beck was still in the house on the phone.

This boy was nothing like her boyfriend.

This boy had dreadlocks.

"You!" Jade yelled, completely stunned.

"Yeah... it's me." the boy smiled.
