05. 🌹Bloom🌹
🌹 Spring 🌹
"Sometimes when we make certain decisions in our life, we bloom with them"
"How's Maki doing?" Nitta asked Megumi, who was coming back that way to get out of the arena, with his hands in him pockets.
Megumi just sighed "It seems that she is calmer now... although the ideal thing would be to give those two their time" he said leaning against the car next to that assistant.
Once they found Maki and gave her first aid.
They decided to go down near the tourist area, more specifically to a beach that was quieter and without so much flow of people. This to treat Maki's nervous breakdown, while the cleaning crew did her work at the scene.
Nitta sighed. — "I feel like I should have stopped her!, I asked her several times if she was feeling bad and she told me no!" — she lamented and looked somewhat annoyed — "Why didn't that girl want to stop the mission?!" — she asked angrily.
Megumi sighed again. "You don't have to feel guilty about what happened. That's how stubborn Maki san is... she likes to do things very her way" — he touched his shoulder as usual. — "Let's just hope that from now on he doesn't commit something crazy like this again..."— He try to comfort her with those words.
They both looked towards the sunset from that place where they were parked... it had really gotten late and night would soon appear.
Maki had already come out of that nervous breakdown that had caused her both the mission and seeing Mai again.
At that moment, she was sitting on the shore of the beach, watching the sunset while feeling the sand and the waves gently touching her bare feet...
She could be seen calmer as she adjusted her husband's sweatshirt over her shoulders to cover the hurts on her back, due to the attack he received on his back from that curse.
Feeling the foam on her feet, the simple memory of her sister came to mind, since that reunion felt so real that she doubted it had been a dream.
"Mai..." she said wistfully as she remembered her sister's words.
"You are one step away from fully blooming..."
"To blossoming "
"What the hell did you mean by 'blooming'?..." Maki wondered in a low voice.
The conversation with her sister had really left her very thoughtful, but deep down, it had also left her calmer since it seemed to have resolved all her doubts.
After reflecting for a few minutes. A feeling of complete tranquility and happiness invaded her from the bottom of her heart, since she felt that everything would be fine...
Maki took a deep breath and her hands went straight to her belly where her little seed was germinating.
"I think I've already made up my mind about all of this... especially about you." A smile appeared on her lips as she looked down at her belly.
Then she look at the sky, admiring the first stars in the firmament. "Thank you, Mai... I think I've already decided and I know what I should do" she said quietly, as she returned her gaze to the front to admire the sunset. .
It seemed that, at such words, Maki would receive an answer, which came in the form of a soft breeze that caressed her cheeks and hair.
That woman was so busy admiring the sea that her husband's voice was what took her out of her thoughts.
"Maki, how are you feeling now?" Yuta asked, returning to sit next to his wife "Nitta also told me that you had some nausea and stomach pain a while ago. Do you want any other medicine? Oh and also, Fushiguro brought us some water!" He take out a bottle from that plastic bag that he was carrying in his hand.
"Thank you! I really need this!" Maki took the bottle of water "And in general I already feel much better, my stomach doesn't hurt anymore and I also feel calmer... the crisis is over"She answer returning to her character forever.
"By the way..."—She raise an eyebrow—"How did they find us? I thought I'd see you in Tokyo at nightfall" Maki answered before drinking that liquid almost at once.
Yuta scratched his head while answering that question. —"Well, you see... we asked Utahime sensei for your mission information and after many attempts, we managed to contact Nitta, since you didn't answer our messages or calls"—He raised hands as a sign of peace when he felt his wife's look of fury —"I know! That was wrong! I know that you shouldn't give details or locations of other people's missions unless they are for urgent reasons, but this was a risky situation since both Fushiguro and I had a feeling that you were not all right"
He stare at Maki lowering her hands— "Above all, I had a bad feeling since our last call last night, since you sounded very distressed" — his shoulders dropped a little — "and today I worry more after Fushiguro will tell me that since yesterday you felt sick... that's why we decided to come looking for you, the good thing we arrived just in time, before another curse appeared or something worse happened to you..."
Maki clicked her tongue. "Tsk, Damn Megumi! You really are a cocky brat! You'll never change, huh meddling fuck?! You really like to talk too much!" She yelled annoyed, turning slightly over her shoulder to see her familiar in the distance.
She knew that Megumi had said all that on purpose, since he couldn't say directly about that pregnancy.
Megumi only felt a chill run through his body from that look of fury that Maki had thrown at his, but he knew that one day she would thank him.
Yuta laughed at such words. "But you haven't changed a thing either, you're always so risky in your missions, I love your courage and determination to do things, that's what I admire the most about you"
He held his wife's hand on the sand, his smile changed to a somewhat serious face full of concern —"But back to the topic... Maki! Why did you accept the mission even though you were in poor health? Love, that was really reckless and very dangerous!" — He squeezed his wife's hand a little, her grip was a bit shaky, as if some bad memory had returned to her memory.
"You know... just imagining that something bad had happened to you on your mission and that perhaps I or someone else couldn't be there to help you or to attend to you on time makes me feel very bad... I feel that if something really bad It happened to you... I "— his voice was brittle — "I would never forgive myself" — He look into her eyes with too much anguish.
"I know! And you don't have to scold me like this! I already understood the lesson!"—Maki responded a little annoyed—"I know it was wrong for me to accept a mission like this with my poor health condition..."— her voice calmed down.
"But I suppose I accepted it because I was bored and I wanted some action" she was looking at him fixedly "Also I wanted to prove something to myself with all this... and I think I did..." she said without letting go of her´s husband hand.
"I'm sorry for worrying both of you, but especially you… Yuta" Maki sighed and squeezed Yuta's hand, she knew she had made him worry too much.
"Yuta, sorry for making you worry like this. I thought that perhaps I could finish this quickly like in my previous missions" she apologized without stopping looking into his eyes.
Yuta sighed for those words, he knew that this woman would always be this rebellious.
But he loved her too much to trust her as many times as necessary.
The special grade sorcerer kept looking at his wife with eyes of anguish —"Maki, just promise me that you will not accept a mission again if you feel bad or if you are sick, okay?...even if you have a simple stomach ache or a flu, don't risk yourself like this again... you really had me worried" He answer lowering his shoulders.
His wife squeezed his hand without taking her eyes off him. "I'll keep that in mind, I'll try not to risk too much from now on..." Maki replied with a resigned sigh.
The special grade sorcerer sighed in relief upon hearing those words and after a slight moment of silence.
Yuta kissed her on the lips. "I missed you..." he whispered in her ear before putting his arms around his wife's waist to get closer to her and be able to hug her.
Maki reciprocated that kiss... she really needed his lips. "And I to you..." she whispered with a half-broken voice, while she leaned her head on his shoulder, hiding a bit her face into her husband's neck.
Maki's lips kissed Yuta's chin and lips, who responded with too much affection and desire.
She really felt safe in his arms and his kisses were an elixir that calmed her down.
After spending a few minutes hugging like this, both separated, but their hands were still intertwined on the sand, while they kept looking at that sunset.
Once again, the uncertainty filled Maki with anxiety as her free hand went slightly towards her belly... she felt that perhaps this could be a good moment to give Yuta the news about her pregnancy.
Mai's words were present in her head again, while she discretely watched her husband, who continued to watch the sunset with a big smile as he felt the sea breeze.
"Listen... there's actually a person more important than the two of us with whom you should talk about this..." — Mai once again pointed her index finger at her sister's belly— And that's Yuta... with him it's with who you should deal with this issue with more depth and seriousness and more than now he is your main family —Maki remembered those words at that moment.
The green-haired girl pursed her lips tightly and tried not to let her tears overflow.
At that moment, Maki had remembered that she had left that pregnancy test at home and the ultrasound was in her bag inside Nitta's car.
All of this made her feel disappointed with herself because she didn't have a surprise prepared for that moment... she regretted not being thoughtful or careful with that kind of thing.
And she demonstrated that by tremblingly squeezing her husband's hand... she felt she had to tell him the truth, but at the same time she would have liked that news to be accompanied by something special.
That gesture made Yuta turn to look at her quickly.
"Maki-san? Everything is alright? Are you feeling bad again?" — Yuta asked worried when he see his wife wipe a few tears from her red cheeks.
"It's just that I just remembered that I forgot something important at home" Maki replied with a slightly cracked voice.
"Besides, I just remembered some of the words that Mai said to me before I woke up..." She sighed slightly and tried to control her emotions "Especially since she said that there's something important that I really have to discuss with you…"
"Something important?! Did he say something I should worry about?" Yuta asked somewhat surprised at such words.
"Nothing like that..." Maki shook her head. "She just said that it's a matter that we should discuss between the two of us..." a slight smile lit up her face.
"Besides, he told me that he still doesn't like you at all..." Maki laughed slightly as her left hand continued to dry her tears.
Yuta smiled a little at that comment "It seems that not even in the afterlife did your sister like me..." he sighed.
Maki continued speaking while still holding Yuta's hand. "But she also told me that she knows how much you love me..." She keeped silent while taking a breath.
"Of course I love you, too much I would say" Yuta smiled and took both hands from his wife — "Did Mai say anything else? Is there anything else you should tell me?" Yuta asked with a very serene look.
The poor Maki swallowed saliva, she felt that she still did not have enough courage to talk about her pregnancy at that moment.
Maki said yes with a wave of her head. "If there's anything else, but about that important thing I have to tell you... maybe we'd better talk about it when we're home..." she stood up suddenly and brushed off the sand.
"At the moment, I feel very tired from the mission and by the way I'm very hungry..." She rubbed her stomach because of the noise that it was making.
Yuta stared at her as he stood up. —"Okay... but what do you want to talk about at home... Is it about the 'important thing' you mentioned yesterday while we were talking on the phone?" Are you sure that everything is ok?" — He asked curiously.
Maki pursed her lips for a moment. —" Yes, that's what I couldn't tell you about on the call! And yes, everything is fine! But as I said" — she crossed her arms, trying to protect her pride —"I feel tired and I don't want to talk about "it" right now since I'm starving"— she held her husband's sweatshirt with her hands crossed and looked to the other side with a grimace on her lips.
Yuta sighed a little, he knew that when she was in a bad mood due to lack of food, she wouldn't speak easily.
"Okay" he brushed the sand off his pants "But Maki, just answer me one thing, is that what you want to talk to me about, is it something I should worry about?" Yuta asked once standing in front of her.
Maki shook her head. "It's nothing you should worry about" she smiled slightly.
Yuta sighed again, approached Maki and planted a kiss on her forehead—"Okay, we'll talk about it once we're home"—his gaze was compassionate and that reassured the green-haired woman.
After that kiss, Yuta stretched his arms up a bit and smiled as he felt the sand and water on his bare feet.
"My Love, what do you think if we spend this weekend here in Atami? I haven't seen you for two days and the truth is I would like to spend more time with you, besides that I have so many things to tell you about my mission" — he said passing his arms around his wife's waist.
Maki pouted. "But it's hot as hell in here! And their roads make me dizzy! Also, there are a lot of tourists in the main area, and you know I don't like crowds!"
"But it's the beach!" — Yuta said very excited —" I haven't been in a place like this for years and what better than being here with you and enjoying this place together!"— he made puppy eyes. —"Please my love, it will only be for one day and on Sunday we will return home early! I promise!" he begged.
Maki sighed when she saw that expression... just imagining that her son would one day make those same eyes while asking her permission, softened her heart a little.
"Okay..." Maki continued with her arms crossed "let's stay here this weekend" she said in her own way, "but only if we stay in a place that has a good menu and air conditioning!" she commented pouting.
Yuta kissed her on the lips at such an answer. —"That's how it will be! I'll ask Nitta to find a good hotel in this area!" — He sounded very excited —"This could be like a well-deserved mini family vacation after spending so many missions away from home..."— He widened his eyes at what he had said — "Sorry! I say in pairs! I know you don't like me saying that word..." he apologized, scratching his head at such a mistake.
"Family"
That word surprised Maki so much that even her eyes widened.
They would officially become a family with the arrival of that little baby. That was the absolute truth and Maki knew that she shouldn't hide that anymore.
"I'll tell Nitta and Fushiguro that we're going to stay in Atami all weekend"—Yuta answered with a big smile as he released Maki —"I'll also tell them that we're going to get you some clothes so you can make yourself more comfortable"—he said giving a few steps—"I'll go ahead and tell those two"
Maki clasped her hands on her arms and squeezed her eyes shut. "You have the courage to face a category one curse, but you don't have enough courage to tell your husband the truth!" Don't be a coward! Tell him before you regret it! It's now or never!" her mind screamed.
And before Yuta took a few more steps on the sand, Maki stopped him by holding his shirt.
"Actually... I..." Maki again had teary eyes and her stomach was a mess from the nausea that the situation was causing her.
Yuta turned around and became worried again when he saw her like that.
"I have something very important to tell you and this can't wait any longer..." Maki said running her right hand over her cheeks to wipe away her tears.
"Maki, you're really worrying me..." Yuta approached her very scared.
Maki took a deep breath but the tears kept overflowing from her eyes and her voice barely came out —"Me... tsk!"—
"What's going on?" Yuta asked very worried looking at her.
"Ugh!" —Maki grunted taking both hands to her face for a moment —"How I would have liked this to happen differently and under different circumstances!" — she blurted out remembering the words that both Mai and Megumi had said to her.
Maki took a deep breath to try to calm down and collect what little courage she still had.
"Happen differently? What do you mean?" The sorcerer had his soul on a thread when he saw her in that state.
"Yuta... I..." the Maki´s voice barely came out as she saw the uncertainty on her husband's face.
"Maki, are you really alright? My Love what happens?" Yuta was too worried about what his wife was trying to say, the poor man thought the worst.
The green-haired girl took a breath and released that as best she could... it was time to tell the truth.
"Yuta, I'm pregnant!" Maki revealed with a slight smile that later turned into tears.
The sorcerer was shocked by that news.
Maki's hands went directly to her belly, while her tears continued to flow down her red cheeks— "I... Ago"— She sobbed — "two days ago I found out I'm pregnant and..."— she was interrupted.
Yuta's face lit up with a big smile at what he was hearing and he quickly hugged his wife.
Maki kept crying and all her emotions were a mix between happiness, uncertainty, illusion and fear for having said that.
Yuta looked at her with tears in his eyes. —"MAKI!"— He named her with great joy.
"And... you... why the hell are you crying?" she asked, surprised at such a reaction from her husband.
Yuta responded with a big smile while wiping away some tears with his hand. "They are tears of happiness!" This is one of the best news I've ever received in my life!" He hugged her again. "I love you! We're going to be parents!" He said very excited and filling her face and lips with kisses.
Maki pursed her lips at such a response.
"Idiot... you're going to make me cry more..." she said with more tears overflowing from her eyes as she hugged him back and her lips returned her husband's kisses. "I love you too..." she whispered between kisses.
She really felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
Quickly, Yuta's happy face changed to one of concern, his hands went directly to his wife's arms, who he looked at from head to toe all worried.
"The baby! The mission! Maki, but your mission was very dangerous! That curse hit you right?! Did you receive any other wound apart from the one on your back? Are you sure you are alright? Do you want us to go to the hospital to make sure you and the baby are okay?! Do you want me to call Shoko?!— Yuta asked very worried.
Maki smiled a little when she saw the concern on her husband's face, her hands went to his cheeks to reassure him. —"The baby and I are fine... Mai also assured me that we were both safe, you shouldn't worry about it's"
"Are you sure nothing hurts?" Yuta asked very worried.
His wife shook her head. "Nothing hurts me and on the contrary, I feel that this baby is just as strong as you and me... We're both fine" Maki smiled as her left hand caressed her belly.
Yuta hugged her again and Maki wrapped her arms around her husband's neck, who lifted her slightly a few centimeters off the ground for the joy of that news.
Once Yuta returned her to the ground, Maki continued crying in her husband's arms while her face hid it in his chest.
"I love you!" Yuta whispered back to her with such joy.
"I..." Maki sobbed hiding her face.
"I love you too, but"— she sobbed again, lowering her left hand to her belly and wiping her tears with her right —"I'm sorry... I can't stop crying... besides, I have a thousand conflicting emotions right now. .. I am a mix between happiness, but combined with fear and uncertainty... and I... no..." — her crying did not let her speak.
Yuta kissed his forehead again —"I know..."—he quickly understood what his wife was trying to tell him—"You know I'll support you in the decision you make regarding all this..."—he answered in a tone that betrayed sadness, as he put his head on his wife's shoulder, who hugged him tightly.
After spending a few minutes in silence and still holding each other, Yuta was encouraged to ask what was inevitable.
"Maki... Have you already thought about what you want to do with the baby?" He asked quietly with a tone of uncertainty.
Yuta was afraid that he had hopeful himself in vain, especially in the event that she decided to terminate that pregnancy.
But even so, he would keep his word as much to take charge and responsibility for that baby in case Maki decided to have it. As well as to accept and respect the decision of his wife in case of deciding not to continue with that pregnancy.
—"Yes"—Maki continued speaking with a calmer tone—"I've been thinking about all this for two days and I think I've already made a decision..."—she said as she ran her hand through her husband's hair.
Yuta pulled away from her shoulder to look directly into her eyes. He had his heart on a thread to hear the definitive answer from his wife.
"And what have you decided? Do you plan to continue the pregnancy? Or are you going to interrupt him? Or do you want us to talk a little more about all of this?" he asked with a small voice, the doubt was killing him inside.
Maki stared at him. "I've decided that I want to have this baby... I've decided that I want to blossom and bear fruit" she commented with a big smile as her hands caressed her belly "even so, I'd like to talk about this as the couple that we are and also that we make some decisions like the family that we will soon be"
Yuta sighed in relief upon hearing that.
Yuta affirmed with his head and affectionately kiss the palms of Maki´s hands, and then place his forehead on his wife's forehead. —"I'll take responsibility for both of them and take care of them as it should be"—he answered with a smile and placed her hand on Maki's belly.
"Even so, I'm afraid of everything that's to come" she whispered, still with tears in her eyes.
"I know..." Yuta ran his hand over his wife's cheek "But you know that I am here for you and I will support and respect you in everything you decide and do until the end..." he said kissing her once more forehead. "I love you and I will love you until the end of my days," he whispered affectionately.
"Thank you for everything... for that I love you..." Maki whispered again, before wrapping her arms around Yuta's neck, to later join in a deep and passionate kiss.
Maki was afraid of regretting that decision she had made, but she would discover that with the passing of time.
In the distance, Nitta and Megumi saw the whole scene before the sun went down completely.
"How cute those two look!" Nitta sighed as if she had just seen a romantic movie.
"You can tell that Maki and Yuta love each other too much, although for a moment they seemed to be arguing... Do you think they're okay?" asked the assistant still looking at that moving scene.
Megumi only sighed. —"I suppose so, maybe soon they'll tell us what's happening..."—he took out his cell phone —"Nitta, the best thing to do is notify the academy that we won't be back soon. I also think that the best thing will be to look for a hotel to spend the night here... it's already too late to return to Tokyo and I don't think those two have the desire to travel by bullet train either"— He look at the time.
"To the order!" The assistant commented enthusiastically "We'll spend all day tomorrow here in Atami sunbathing in a good hotel!" She said very happily.
Megumi supposed that Maki had already told Yuta about her pregnancy, this because of all the reaction those two had... now all that was left was for her to notify the academy and for her not to regret her decision.
Above all, because summer, like the first trimester of a pregnancy, was the stormiest season...
🌊To be continue...
Notes
I hope you liked this long chapter.
I wanted to make a reference to Mai because I feel that Maki would continue to take her into account in some issues of her life... also, I wanted to reflect on the cacti because Mai has, according to the official JJK fanbook, the hobby of collecting cacti.
I also feel that this plant is a good comparison with Maki. Rough and hard on the outside where her thorns protect her, but she is just one step away from maturing and showing that flower that is her true feelings.
I also wanted to capture this fight because I feel like it was all the fears and insecurities that Maki felt about her pregnancy.
Anyway, the arc of spring now if it came to an end in the next chapter for now if it starts with summer, plus we will already have Yuta's long-awaited reaction.
As I said, I hope you continue to enjoy this story. Your votes, views and comments are super important for this fic to continue.
we keep reading❤
