13. In The Middle Of The Storm (Part.2)

🌊 Summer 🌊

""The darkness of the storm determines the brightness of the rainbow."

-Matshona Dhliwayo"

Part Two

11:00 a.m.

The shower faucets were turned off. Yuta sighed as he wiped the tears from his face.

It was the second time he blamed his cursed lineage for a situation like this.

The first time was for having cursed Rika at the time of her death and turning her into a curse.

And this second time, because perhaps his blood was cursed enough to hurt the person he loved and in the process beget a dangerous being.

Yuta sighed a little as he pushed his hair back with his hands. He just hoped that this emotional storm would end soon.

He got out of that shower and right there in the bathroom of the room, he dried his body with a towel that was provided to him and put on those dry clothes that luckily they got for him in that hospital.

He dried and combed his hair and finally put on a blue sweatshirt that he had also gotten at that place.

The Dr. Azumi was indeed helping them too much and all thanks to the fact that she was an acquaintance of Shoko.

Before leaving the bathroom, he took a deep breath. He plucked up his courage, grabbed the knob and opened the door.

The room provided for Maki's stay in that hospital was very comfortable and somewhat luxurious, of which they would only pay half of the expenses.

In addition to a private bathroom, that room had a TV, a sofa for visitors, a small closet and a large window with curtains. The bed was comfortable and had the necessary controls to call the nurses in case of emergency.

This room could also be used to give birth and to rest after delivery, as it also had an incubator and everything necessary for a newborn baby.

The curtain at that moment was half open and could be seen through the thick glass, as the gusts of wind blew with intensity outside that building. Nothing could be seen but the pure rain. That typhoon had already made landfall and Tokyo was suffering from its wrath.

Maki was semi-sitting on that hospital bed, with her back leaning against the backrest, which was slightly tilted.

She was wearing the typical white gown worn by the patients. And in her left hand she had a catheter, which allowed the physiological saline solution that had been administered to him to pass through.

At that time, Maki was finishing breakfast.

Yuta walked over to her and sat on the edge of the bed.

"How are you feeling at the moment? And how is your forehead?" he asked in a calm voice.

Maki looked at him as she finished eating the fruit that had been brought to her along with the other dishes.

"A little better" She shrugged her shoulders, "The pain in my body has diminished a lot and I no longer feel any pain or cramps in my belly.
And since Azami healed my forehead, it doesn't hurt anymore, and luckily there will be no scar"

She left the chopsticks with which she held those slices of fruit on the tray that had been left next to her bed "And I admit it, the food in this place is not as bad as I thought, I even think the baby liked it" She look down at her belly and caress it with her right hand.

"Guess that's a good sign" Yuta smiled slightly.

"Yes…" Maki pursed her lips slightly and turned her gaze away.

They both kept a slight moment of silence as they listened to the strong wind hitting the window of the room.

Yuta took a breath before breaking the ice.

"Maki san..." Yuta lightly moved his right hand to that little bulging belly, "May I?"

She sighed a little, observing what Yuta wanted her to understand.
"You're her father, so you can do it" she smiled very slightly.

"Thank you"

Yuta carefully brought his hand to that belly and caressed it tenderly.

Maki gestured slightly. She felt her baby move too much when she felt it father near. That feeling was bubbly most of the time.
"This little baby soybean is moving a lot with your presence. I guess his missed you" she said, looking at Yuta's hand on her belly.

"And I missed you too…" he looked at his wife with a faint smile.

"And..." Maki pursed her lips a little, she was fighting against her pride and her still anger with him, "And what were you doing all these days that we were not together?" she also wanted to break the ice.

Yuta kept smiling without removing his hand from her belly.
"Besides taking care of some missions and of babysitting Takeru" he scratched his cheek a little. "I took some cooking classes."

"Cooking classes?" Maki raised an eyebrow at that answer. "Why?" she asked curiously.

Yuta let out the air in a light laugh.
"Hehe I had to do something to keep my mind busy. and I thought it would be a good idea to learn how to cook more dishes to cooking you and the baby" he looked at Maki, while removing his hand from her belly.
"And Takeru is the one who has been tasting my dishes"

"Oh! I see!" She pouted slightly.
"Well, if that boy didn't get sick to his stomach, that means your dishes are good. Although I must admit that between you and me, you're the better cook" admitted Maki with a smile.

"Thank you, I hope I can cook for you once we get out of this hospital" He sighed "And you?, What have you been doing all this time we've been apart?" Yuta asked curiously.

Maki lifted herself up a little with her hands to sit next to Yuta.
She placed her pillow on her back while answering that question.

"Well..." She looked at her belly while she caressed it, making circles with her fingers "I had another mission with the first year students. But this time everything went well, I didn't have to intervene. Those boys are really strong, I guess it was thanks to my training" She shrugged her shoulders.

She continued talking while her hands remained still on the sheet.
"And well, the baby and I were doing some exercise, especially Yoga, since I've been trying to slow down the pace and weight of my workouts. We
also spent some time watching movies while we ate if I didn't fall asleep and..." she sighed, keeping a few seconds of silence.

"And?" Yuta raised an eyebrow.

" And I've been thinking and reflecting about us" Maki answer, looking at him seriously.

Her husband felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest over the issue. He was afraid of the decision she would have made about their marriage.

"And what have you thought about us?" he asked with uncertainty but did not stop talking, he was super nervous about that topic, "Maki, just give me time to prove to you that I am a good husband and I swear that I will never break a promise again!" he continued speaking still staring at her.
"But if you tell me right now that you want a divorce, just give me time to get a place where I can move to and get a lawyer and..." Yuta was interrupted.

Maki grabbed him by the collar of his sweatshirt and pulled him close to her lips to silence him with a kiss.

"Baka!, of course I don't want a divorce!" said Maki once she released him and gave him a very light smack on the forehead with her middle finger and thumb. It could be noticed that her cheeks became very red.

"I was just thinking that you're right! I'm selfish!" her face regained its color and she continued talking while her hands rested on her belly.

"And maybe it's true, I wasn't seeing how much you cared about us and I started to reflect that maybe, if you hadn't broken our promise and if you hadn't asked Shoko about all this, I really don't know what would have happened with me and the baby."

She took a slight breath and continued speaking.
"I don't know where they would have sent us or worse, maybe they would have never taken care of us because of the damn typhoon..." she sobbed lightly "Yuta, I'm sorry!" her voice trailed off, she had a lump in her throat "I'm sorry for everything, as I said, this whole motherhood thing is new to me and I just thought I could handle it my way..." her tears started to run down her cheeks. She was truly sorry.

Yuta came up to give her a kiss on the lips, which she reciprocated.

"I accept your apology and by the way, I also apologize for having broken a promise, and I know that day, we both said hurtful things to each other because we had reached our limit" he looked her in the eyes.

"And as I said, it was my duty as a father and as a husband to watch over you and our son. You know I love you and you don't know how much I missed you..." he commented, placing his forehead on his wife's forehead.

All those words made Maki burst into tears once again, as she hugged her husband. Sinking her face into his neck and holding him tightly by the back of his sweatshirt.

Yuta also hugged her carefully, so as not to crush their baby. He stroked her back to comfort her and kissed her forehead as tears overflowed from her eyes.

"And now..." Maki was still crying inconsolably "And now I keep putting our baby at risk, wasn't I born to be a mother?" She look at Yuta.

"If it is my celestial restraint that is acting this way against our son, maybe that means that my body is not made for this" she brought her hands to her face as she continued to cry inconsolably.

"Admit that at the beginning, I was having a hard time accepting what I had chosen for myself, and I swear that I even got attached to the idea of having a baby. I got my hopes up about being a mother, and for what?" she sobbed with too much pain, "Did I get my hopes up in vain? was it wrong to have decided to be a mother?, it seems that my body detects this baby as if it were a parasite or a threat!, I really don't want anything to happen to our baby, am I a threat to our child," she hugged her husband once again.

"Love, don't say that" Yuta kissed her forehead and lightly caressed her belly. It hurt him too much to see her like that.
"Maybe it's not your restriction that is working against our son, maybe it's like the doctor said, stress or accumulated fatigue that is affecting you. We should give her time to check your tests and find the real cause of all your discomfort"

"But what if I'm not cut out to be a mother? What if this was a bad idea? What if I lose our child?" asked Maki all scared.

"Nobody is made to be a father at the first time, I am also afraid of everything that is happening to us and I even admit that I came to think that maybe all this that is happening to you and the fact that your health is so bad is due to my fault for not having taken care of you as you deserved" He caressed Maki's cheeks.

"But do you remember what else I told you in Atami when we made the decision to go ahead with this? When you asked me if I was ready to be a father?" he held her hands.

Maki sobbed. She could not speak because of the lump in her throat.

"I told you I was sure of one thing, and that is that we have each other to face this as a couple!" he leaned his forehead against his wife's forehead.
"Together we can fight this storm and get through it. I know that our baby is very strong, and I have the feeling that this little one is inheriting the best of both of us and I know that he will be a very healthy baby who will make it through this pregnancy and once we have him in our arms, he will continue to be very strong and healthy" he commented, kissing his wife's hands.

Maki wiped away her tears.

"I will not leave you alone in this and as I promised you the day we got married and as I promised you that day in Atami" he also wiped away some tears.

"I will always be by your side, through thick and thin, in sickness and in health and until death do us part..." said Yuta while Maki hugged him again.

"You idiot, you're only making me cry more!" she sobbed as she hugged him, "And I know we can get through this storm" she whispered, feeling more tears fall from her eyes.

Yuta smiled a little at that typical phrase of hers.
"The three of us will come out of this safely, I trust we will."

They hugged for a few minutes, it seemed that the embrace and those words were calming for Maki, who seemed to be calmer.

"Maki san, the best thing you can do right now is to rest. You should try to get some sleep, you look a little tired" commented Yuta as he helped her get into bed so she could lie down completely.

"Lately I am afraid to sleep..." she said, wiping away the few tears that remained in her eyes.

"Why?" asked Yuta in confusion.

"Because…" she sighed, "in the last few days I've been having horrible nightmares where..." she pursed her lips.

"Where?" Yuta raised an eyebrow.

Maki let out the air with resignation. "Where all the damned Zenin
clan humiliate and shame me for being pregnant. They laugh at me, say mean things to me and try to hurt our baby" her right hand caressed her belly "Those ghosts chase me until they throw me to the ground, beat me and scratch me until they rip our child from my belly... that dream has been repeated for several nights in a row" she sighed.

Yuta was taken aback by this

"Maybe they're right. Maybe I should be ashamed of being pregnant!" she covered her eyes with her arm.

Yuta was surprised by that answer. "Why do you say that? Are you really ashamed that we had sex and that this baby was the result of that?"

Maki's face turned a little red.
"It's not about sex! I don't think that was ever wrong between the two of us and I don't think my sex life with you is a subject I should be ashamed of!" she pursed her lips slightly.

"So?" asked Yuta, still stroking her hair.

"I think I'm a little embarrassed about my appearance..." she sighed, looking down at her belly, which stood out under the robe that covered her.

She settled on her left side, while stroking her belly in circles with her index finger. Her face was dyed red, as were her ears, and her face could show her embarrassment.

"But Maki, you have always been and still are beautiful even with your scars, you shouldn't feel bad about your physical appearance," commented Yuta brushing a lock of her hair behind her ear. He knew that those scars on her skin sometimes made her feel very bad about herself.

But even with those marks she hated, Yuta still saw Maki equally beautiful and attractive.

"'m not talking about my scars... I'm talking about my pride as a woman and as a sorceress" she looked at her husband.

"Perhaps what I am most ashamed of myself is the fact that I did not keep my promise. I had promised myself and shouted it to the whole stupid Zenin Clan that I would be more than just a girl with a restriction. I had told them that I would be a leader. And even I had sworn that I would never give them a child from my belly and look at me now..." sigh "with a baby in my belly. I had even told that asshole Naoya that I would never have children" She click her tongue "That idiot must be mocking me from hell"

Yuta sighed at those words, moved closer to her and again kissed her on the lips.

"You don't have to be ashamed of being pregnant. Besides" he caressed his wife's belly, "now that the Zenin clan no longer exists and is no longer part of the three great clans, perhaps we could start a new clan" he suggested with a slight smile.

"What do you mean?" asked Maki, squinting her eyes at those words.

"I mean, now that there will be three of us, Don't you think it would be a good idea to start our own clan" Yuta commented.

"Ah?" Maki raised one of her eyebrows, "What are you trying to say?" she was still shocked by those words.

"What I'm trying to say is that now that we will formally start to be a family, we could start from scratch as, I don't know?, The Okkotsu Clan?"

"I mean" He scratched his cheek "We could break with old traditions that we didn't like from our parents or relatives and do new and good things for our baby and for our future descendants. Besides, then you could be the leader you wanted to be. You could lead our family and our clan" he suggested with a smile.

Maki smiled a little at that proposal while caressing Yuta's cheek "The idea of the clan doesn't displease me at all. I feel like that would be a great first step to start leaving behind the ghosts of my stupid family"

Yuta kissed her hand.
"Whatever you decide, I will support you and you know it" he smiled tenderly.

Maki took him by his cheeks and guided him to her lips "Thank you... I will think about it very well" She kissed him, which was tenderly reciprocated by her husband.

"You're welcome my love, and now, try to rest, maybe that will help you get better, I'll be here to take care of you" answered Yuta with a smile.

"You should get some sleep too, you have more dark circles under your eyes than the last time I saw you" commented Maki with a slight chuckle.

"You know?, I'll take your word for it" Yuta looked exhausted, "Taking care of Takeru is more tiring than going on a mission, and he's only six years old" he answered with a very tired voice.

Maki let out a light laugh and made a field next to her on that bed, so that he could lie down next to her and hug her from behind. "Maybe that will help you practice for when our son is born"

"Thank you, and it does serve as training, as I have a feeling that maybe our baby will also be very restless" said Yuta with a smile as he hugged her to sleep. Passing his hand to her belly and hiding his face in the back of her neck.

"Hehehe, I love you" she whispered as she closed her eyes and held his hand on her belly. Hugging her carefully so as not to crush their baby.

"And I love you" he whispered in her ear.

After that reconciliation, they both fell into a deep sleep for a small part of the afternoon. But Maki's health problems continued to worsen.

01:55 p.m.

That first day at the hospital was really getting heavy for the couple.

Not only because the typhoon was battering the hospital with its strong winds and heavy rains. But also because of the pain and symptoms continued to afflict Maki to the point of becoming unbearable.

Again, after sleeping for almost two hours, she woke up complaining of pain, she was shaking and sweating too much.

"Maki!" commented Yuta approaching his wife, who seemed to be suffering in that dream.

"No! Let go of me! My baby!" She cried, waking up with a start. The poor Maki was writhing on the bed, "This time my belly hurts too much!"

Yuta touched Maki's forehead, it seemed to burn with fever, but there was something else. At that touch, Yuta felt a tingling, it was a kind of electric sensation, also he felt the presence of cursed energy in the place.

Maki grunted and hugged herself in pain.

"It hurts too much! Yuta, our baby!" She growl. "Call the doctor! I don't feel well!"

The sorcerer quickly left the room and asked the nurses for help, as his wife was feeling bad and the pain was only increasing. One of them even went to quickly fetch the doctor.

Dr. Azami was awakened on an emergency basis as she had also gone to get some rest.

"What's wrong with Maki san?, What symptoms is she showing?" asked the woman, rushing into the room while tying her hair in a ponytail.

"She woke up in a lot of pain and as I approached her, I felt some kind of cursed energy coming out of her body! Doctor, what is happening to my wife?" Yuta looked very terrified as he held Maki's hand, who was breathing heavily and trembling a lot. Even her eyes were heavy as she could not open them.

"Yuta... this hurts too much..." muttered Maki with a lot of pain.

The doctor quickly lifted that sheet to check her, but at that moment her eyes opened in surprise, besides observing a few blood stains in the area of Maki's crotch, what had surprised her most was that this patient had a strange black mark on her right leg, it looked like a long scratch and from it, it gave off a trace of very strong residual energy.

"What's that? What's happening to my wife?" asked Yuta, very frightened by such a mark.

"Do you know if Maki san was exposed to a curse born out of fear of disease? Or something like that? Was she injured by a curse?" asked the doctor, quickly putting on some gloves. "Quickly! Get some gauze and administer medication! Also bring the monitor closer! We must check that baby!"

Maki was still writhing in pain.

Yuta remembered seeing that wound, "Now that you mention it! Yes, almost a week ago, Maki had a mission where she was scratched by a curse that was said to kill its victims from the inside! I don't know the exact details, but as far as I remember, the reports said it was a semi-first degree curse and on that occasion, she wouldn't let me cure it! And she wouldn't let Ieiri san check it either!" he explained in a panic.

He remembered that day when they argued and she had interrupted his healing with her reverse curse technique.

"Now it all makes sense!" said Azami in a hurry to save the woman and her baby.

"Sorry Maki san, but I must begin to intervene medically!" said the doctor, opening Maki's legs to attend to the bleeding.

Quickly, they lifted her medical gown to the top of her abdomen to perform an ultrasound to observe the baby.

The baby seemed very tense as he was barely moving and his heartbeat was faster than normal.

"Doctor, the baby is also suffering, it heartbeat is very fast" commented a nurse.

Yuta never left Maki's side. He was there for her, holding her hand in the face of that terrible pain, even though inside he was dying of fear and worry about everything that was happening to her and his baby.

"Everything will be all right love" His eyes filled with tears as he watched her suffer like this.

He was suffering from all that too, but he had to appear strong to give Maki confidence. It was his duty to be there as a father and as a husband. Just as Satoru had told him.

"Quickly!, we must also cure this leg. It seems that we have already found the cause of all her ailments" said Azami, checking that mark, which gave off cursed energy.

"It could be that the remnants of the curse that entered her body were strengthened and fed by the negative feelings and stress produced by Maki san!" the doctor began to explain as she continued trying to control the hemorrhage.

"My diagnosis as a doctor and as a sorceress is that maybe this is the real reason why her celestial restraint was acting as a defense as she was trying to eliminate the cursed residues. But apparently that also involved the baby and her restraint is also attacking it as perhaps her body is unaware of it and that is causing a threat of miscarriage" Azami explained the situation. It seemed that this hypothesis was correct.

"We must act quickly to save them both! Okkotsu kun!" She looked at the sorcerer, "You use the reverse curse technique, don't you?"

"Yes! Tell me what to do!"

"Apply as much of that technique as you can to Maki san. We need to eliminate all cursed traces that are still inside her. Meanwhile, I will continue to stop the bleeding!" said the doctor while attending to Maki and passing her more material, since Maki was still losing blood. "Unlike you and Shoko, my reverse curse technique can only be used on minor wounds! That's why I need your help Okkotsu san!"

"Doctor, the baby's heartbeat is slowing down" said the nurse who was monitoring the little one through the ultrasound.

"IT HURTS TOO MUCH!" cried Maki, holding her husband's hand tighter as she felt her whole body split with pain and that energy made her feel a current throughout her whole being. Especially that pain was attacking her belly.

"I'll help in any way I can!" Yuta kissed his wife's forehead, "Everything will be fine, Maki san, I promise!" he took a few steps towards Azami.

Some nurses helped to restrain Maki, as she was squirming too much and would not let the doctor treat her.

"Don't panic if you see Maki writhing more in pain. She will feel a very strange sensation, but it is because your energy is attacking the cursed residue" the doctor explained "I need you to apply as much of your energy as you can. Use the reverse curse technique on her whole body"

"But what will happen to our baby?" asked Yuta, very frightened.

"That baby has your genes and some of your blood, so it's very likely that your energy won't affect it or hurt it. If we don't do this quickly, they could both di!" Azami said, taking more gauze to stop the bleeding.

Yuta swallowed.
"I will do everything in my power to save you both!" he looked once again at his wife, who was holding the sheets in pain, "Forgive me Maki if I caused you more pain with this" he held her leg and began to apply the technique.

Maki screamed a little because of the burning sensation running through her body. Yuta let out some tears for seeing her feel that pain, but they both had to be strong.

Even Maki bit her lip a little to try not to scream anymore, while her hand was on her belly, hoping for a miracle for both her and her baby to survive.

The whole intervention lasted about five minutes. Which felt like an eternity.

Thanks to Azami and Yuta's intervention, the bleeding stopped. The fetal monitor showed that the baby's heart was stabilizing at a normal heart rate for its size.

That energy and drug treatment was proving to be a success.

Maki began to relax her hands and her whole body, those few minutes had taken forever. But now that pain and that electric sensation suddenly ceased.

"The bleeding is under control and the baby is stable" said Dr. Azumi, looking at the monitors.

Then she checked that leg, which was healed, although that horrible scratch would now be engraved on her skin as a new scar, but no residual energy was coming out of it, nor did she feel any residual energy.

"It appears that we have successfully removed the remnants of that curse"

Once Yuta heard those words, he let out a sigh of relief, removed his hands from his wife's leg and quickly reached over to take her hand.

Maki was bathed in sweat, slowly catching her breath and now she was finally able to open her eyes.

Even with her weak grip, she did not let go of her husband's hand.

"Maki, how are you feeling?" asked Yuta with too much concern when he saw her in that state.

She let out a sigh.
"Tired, but I don't feel any pain anymore... I would even say I feel a little hungry…" she said with a slight smile.

Yuta hugged her gently, placing his forehead on his wife's forehead.
"You were very brave to endure all this. You are a warrior and our baby is also very strong to survive all this!" he kissed her forehead.

"This baby soybean is inheriting the strength from me, I guess this little one will be just like me!" said Maki with a smile, as she closed her eyes and tears rolled down her cheeks. Those were tears of happiness.

"Definitely, our child will look like you!" Yuta replied with a smile and placing his hand on that belly.

Dr. Azumi smiled at that scene and asked her staff to change the sheets and continue monitoring them.

As the hours passed, they began to see great improvement in the health of Maki and her baby.

The doctor was also amazed with that case, since perhaps thanks to the strong genes that the baby was inheriting from both parents, this little one had managed to survive and stay healthy inside his mother's womb.

And thanks to both modern medicine, as well as the reverse curse technique, Maki began to have a great improvement during that afternoon and evening.

Even the nightmares stopped because that curse was the one that provoked them, just as that curse was the main cause of Maki's falling into that state.

After the medical intervention, Yuta accompanied and cared for her at all times, never leaving her side for the next few days she remained in the hospital.

Three days later.

July 09.

After almost three days of heavy rains, the typhoon had finally left Tokyo and little by little, the sun began to show through the summer sky.

"Finally!, we're finally going home! I was getting bored of being here!" commented Maki sitting in that wheelchair that was being pushed by Yuta.

Both were on their way out of the hospital. Maki was finally discharged because her health had improved considerably and both she and her baby were out of danger. She even looked very radiant and cheerful.

But before finally leaving the place, Maki asked Yuta to go through the nursery area.

So at that moment, they were both in front of that glass, looking at the babies.

"But above all, with both of you in better health, it is a relief to be able to return home" commented Yuta with a big smile, as he helped Maki to her feet and caressed her belly affectionately.

"That's right! Although I must admit that this hospital is not as bad as I thought" Maki caressed her husband's hand on her belly "I mean the food is not bad and by the way the room was comfortable, besides the medical attention is very efficient, so I have made a decision about this place" she looked at her husband.

"And which one is it?" asked Yuta with curiosity as he saw Maki very excited while looking at those babies through the glass.

"I spoke to Azami san a while ago and I told her to please write down in the boshi notebook that this is going to be the hospital where I want to receive my monthly visits and by the way, here I want to give birth, above all she agreed to be my Gynecologist and she will be the one who will attend me on the day of my delivery" she caressed her husband's hand, "I have already decided. This is the hospital I was looking for"

Yuta smiled and kissed him on the lips before helping him to sit once again in that wheelchair.

"If that is your wish, you know that I will support you in this decision. And by the way, I will take care of the necessary expenses" he bent down slightly to put his head on Maki's belly.

"Then in a few more months, I will see you through this glass my little boy or girl" Yuta commented affectionately before standing up and continuing to push that wheelchair to the exit.

"Yes, and speaking of the months left for this soybean seed to be born..." commented Maki, pursing her lips.

"What's up with that?" Yuta asked, looking at his wife curiously.

Maki kept stroking her belly while looking straight ahead.
"Well, do you remember what we said in Atami about until what month I would stop having missions?" she asked.

"Oh!" Yuta raised his eyebrows "Yes, I remember."

"Well, I've also been thinking that maybe it's time for me to take a break from missions and while I'm at it, I think it's time to break the news about my pregnancy to everyone" she sigh.

"Maki, are you sure the time has come?" asked Yuta with some surprise, as they rode up in that elevator.

Maki continued speaking.
"Yes, I'm sure and more than officially I'm already starting week number sixteen, so officially the four month deal is over, besides I think it's more than obvious that several people already suspect this, so I won't be able to hide it anymore, and by the way, this baby is already getting noticed" she sighed while they were in that elevator.

"I understand" Yuta relaxed his shoulders a little, that answer had given him a great relief because it came from Maki's mouth.

"Well, I guess IF it is time to tell the others, especially since Fushiguro kun also already knows about this baby. He told me the other day" commented Yuta as the doors opened.

That name made Maki look quickly at Yuta, and she even moved a little from that chair to look over her shoulder at him.

"What did Megumi tell you about this?" she asked curiously. She was mentally preparing himself to hit Megumi in case he had opened his mouth too much.

Yuta smiled.
"He only told me that you had revealed it to him a day before the mission the other day, although he told me that he actually already suspected about you being pregnant," he shrugged as they got out of the elevator and continued pushing the wheelchair.

"Fushiguro has always been a very smart boy and a great observer. So I guess he came to that conclusion on his own about your pregnancy, unless he sensed the arrival of his cousin" he let out a slight chuckle.

Maki sighed with relief when she heard that answer. Most of all, she was still confident that Megumi wouldn't say anything to Yuta about him being the first to find out about that pregnancy. She would kick his ass anyway.

"Yes, and that's why I think it's time to tell everyone about this baby, so I've been thinking about how we could tell them" she rolled her eyes. "I
hate having to plan surprises" she grumbled.

Yuta laughed at those words as he knew Maki hated doing "cheesy" things or making "surprises" for others.

"We'll figure out a way to break the news to you"

They both finally reached the hospital exit.

"Although..." Maki hesitated a little.
"There's something else I want to do before I tell everyone about this baby" she said as her husband helped her to her feet.

"And what is it about?" asked Yuta with his wife standing in front of him. All this made him curious.

Maki sighed a little before she began to explain.
"It's something that has to do with my past. There is something I want to do to say a final goodbye to the memory of the Zenin clan" she said, caressing her belly with a slight smile.

"I feel it is my duty to bury that past so that I can welcome this future as it should be. Especially because I want to do something meaningful for our new clan" she waved her hands, "The Okkotsu clan" she smiled as she said those words.

Yuta looked into her eyes. Something in her gaze said that this could help Maki a lot to let go of her past. He trusted her.

"Okay!" he smiled, "Tell me, what should we do? What is the Okkotsu clan leader planning?!

Maki began to explain her idea while they were on their way home and while they were organizing to tell the others the news.

Though, Maki was afraid to know how everyone else would react to such a surprise.

Especially Nobara, since Maki had lied to her best friend and this Orange haired girl might take it badly very personally.

🍂To be continue...

Notes

And tell me, what did you think of the chapter? How are you liking this fic?

With this chapter I end the summer season and now we will enter the autumn season 🍂 my favorite season.

I hope it was understood that what caused all those ailments and symptoms was the curse that had managed to enter Maki's body through her leg wound, which, if you don't remember, I mentioned in chapter 11 entitled "Typhoon" 😅

And yes, her restriction was acting against the curse, which was trying to eliminate those residues, but it also involved her baby a little bit because the curse was going for that little one, but luckily and thanks to modern medicine and the reverse curse technique, managed to save both that baby and her mother.

Anyway, as I said, I hope you understood and liked it.

Because now comes the revelation to all theirs friends.

How do you think the others will react? What do you think Toge, Panda and Itadori will say?

But especially Nobara, since she will be important to Maki. Do you think she will be angry because Maki lied to her and hid the baby from her? Or do you think she will understand? I'll be reading them 👀

And tell me, how are you after the shocking chapter of the manga and the last chapter of the anime? I really have a lot of mixed feelings. Above all, because of the ending that Gojo had in the manga and finally seeing the sealing of Gojo in the anime, AND ALL THIS IN THE SAME WEEK, SERIOUSLY GEGE IS DEMENTE!

Anyway, I also wanted to thank you for the support and reception that this fic has had, especially now that a few days ago it turned a year old ❤️

Seriously, thank you very much for your readings, for your votes and comments, all that motivates me to keep writing.

This fic has already gone through 2 seasons

Spring, where you make discoveries and seeds begin to germinate, and summer, where decisions have consequences, just like storms.

From the following month, autumn will begin, where things will start to mature before reaching the winter where that baby will be born ❤️.

By the way, who do you think will be a girl or a boy? I will be reading your comments.

Because it's also getting closer to reveal the sex of that baby 👀 Will there be Babyshower or not, what do you guys theorize? Like I said, I'll be reading your comments

We will keep reading ️
