Detroit: Spartans and Androids
AN: Hey guys this is your boy Samuel Loegan and as you all know this story here isn't really a story, it's more to Story Ideas and Story Demo for the ever-loved game Halo and the alternate universes I'm going to crossover with. Do keep in mind that in my Halo story ideas the characters from Red vs Blue like the Freelancer agents and the Reds and Blues are Spartans of the UNSC and had also gone through character developments throughout the war against the Insurrectionists to the Covenant and so on, how cool is that ay? And also, Locus, Felix and that one character called Siris (you'll know him from Red vs Blue Season 14) are also Spartans. And no, Felix and Locus aren't bad guys in this story.
I'll try and make a prequel to the whole story journey of the Reds, Blues and the Freelancers that they're gonna undergo. And no guys, Church, Tex, York, Wyoming, C.T, North and South Dakota AND Maine won't die in the story since instead of Project Freelancer there's gonna be the UNSC to treat them well but certain characters like Sarge, South Dakota and others are still gonna go through character development.
So long story short as to what happen is that the UNSC attempted a final strike on Cortana and her Created or Cortana's Covenant as to what I like to call. But at the same time Cortana had created a machine that could rip open space and time after discovering and researching from the Forerunner archives that there are thousands and thousands of alternate realities or universes out there, right for the taking and so she began making the machine.
As the Spartans but not every single Spartans (keep in mind there are like an army of Spartan IVs when the program was created) as Chief, Kelly, Linda, Fred, Locke, Buck, Vale, Tanaka and the others, began to take their fight to Cortana one last time with the rest of the Spartans fighting outside a Promethean accidentally shot the machine causing it to go malfunction and in the end transported a handful Spartans in one particular area to alternate realities or universes, however you guys want to call the term, while Cortana and her Prometheans escaped. And that's how it happened folks.
This story here is a story demo/idea of Halo cross overing with Detroit: Become Human.
So, hey without further ado, let my first story demo/idea began :D
"Ugh," Edward Buck groaned as he tried his best to get up whilst clutching his helmet. He remembered Cortana building a machine that could tear through 'space and time'. After an accident where a Promethean accidentally shot the machine, it began to malfunction as a bright light consumed him and the other Spartans that were in the area.
He looked around him to see he was in some type of abandoned building. He grabbed his M45D Shotgun that was lying in front of him before standing up fully while looking around. Three Spartans were with him but they weren't Alpha Nine or any other Spartans he's worked with. There on the floor lying unconscious were Spartan Lavernius Tucker from Fireteam Blues, Spartan Felix and Spartan Maine from Fireteam Freelancer.
"Hey Spartans! Get up! No slacking off!" he shouted his inner gunnery sergeant kicked as she shook their bodies one by one. Felix began to stir as he started to get up slowly along with Maine.
"That was quite the blast," Felix remaked before slowly standing up fully. "Da hell are we?"
"Come on sleepin beuaty get up!" he said to Tucker as he slapped him.
"Ugh, what the?" the cyan armored Spartan mumbled. "Where are we?"
"That's what I like to know" Felix said as he grabbed his DMR rifle putting the weapon on his back, the magnet holding the rifle in place.
Tucker picked his DMR rifle, putting the rifle on his back while Maine did the same, picking his signature weapon 'the Brute Shot' before putting it behind him.
"I think we're back on Earth," Tucker said.
"But which part of Earth are we in?" Felix asked.
"A human" Maine spoke in a surprised tone.
"What?" Felix replied.
Maine pointed towards the direction.
They all look to see a humanoid figure on the sitting on the ground not moving all covered in black dirt, this humanoid figure had a uniform of some sort.
"What the hell?" Buck muttered as he bent down to take a closer look at the 'human'. "What happened to you?" The former ODST began looking up and down before noticing something different about this so called 'human'. This 'human' seemed to have a plastic like material covering him and also metallic looking material. Wait…this doesn't seem right. And is this supposed to be a human?
"Looks like an Android of some sort, like in those sci-fi movies. You know, Star Trek," Tucker said.
"Hmm, I don't know what to make of this," Buck said before standing up. "Could be someone making something for a convention or science exhibition? I don't know, not sure."
"Could be one of those science exhibitions projects," Felix assumed.
Buck sighed. "Well, could be. Come on, let's go check outside." The four began to walk out from the abandoned building not paying too much mind about the so-called humanoid figure sitting there on the ground. "This way," Buck instructed.
"How do you know sir?" Felix asked.
"I'm Sergeant Edward Buck, I always know."
They then stopped to see a giant cargo ship in front of them with a name 'Jericho'.
"What do we have here?" Buck mused. "Come on, let's go investigate. Could be some humans there running away from Cortana."
"This is Fireteam Ravage Spartan Felix does anyone copy?" But only static came out. "Chief do you read? Siris, Locus you guys copy? Any UNSC outpost on Earth here please respond." Yet again, static came out. "Can ANYONE respond?! Damn it."
"Maybe they're just ignoring you," Tucker jokingly jabbed at him.
"Well I don't see YOU try anything Lavernius," Felix jabbed back.
"Can it you two!" Buck ordered. "Why don't you two be like Maine here huh? Silent and all that. Come on, help us figure out a way on that ship."
The four Spartans observed the distance between them and the ship.
"It's a good distance away," Felix observed as he looked down on the ravine to see the port of the dock. They're in a shipping dock. "Figure we should use our thrusters."
Buck looked over the dock port. "Good idea, let's do this. But we gotta have a head start first, I'll go." He started to take a few steps back before sprinting full speed ahead to the ship. He jumped as he activated his thrusters, flying forward towards the ship as far as his thrusters can take him. The former ODST landed safely on the ship. "Ok Spartans ya'll can jump now!"
"Sooooo how's gonna go first?" Tucker asked.
"Rock, paper, scissors?" the grey and orange Spartan suggested.
Maine mentally sighed as he patted both of their shoulders to get their attention. He gestured them to step away.
"Oh, you're gonna jump big guy?" Felix asked.
Maine nodded.
"Alright then, good luck."
The Spartan brute took a few steps back before sprinting towards the ship and did what Buck did, activating his thrusters and landed safely on the ship.
"Rock, paper, scissors?" Tucker then suggested.
"Let's go!" Felix said as the two started.
Buck sighed in irritation. "For the love of-now's not the time Spartans!"
"Wait, Sarge, we almost got it" Tucker replied.
Felix then threw a rock while Tucker threw a scissor causing his heart to drop.
"YEEEEAAAAAHHHH!" Felix yelled in victory while the cyan Spartan just looked on in pure disbelief before facepalming at his bad luck. "Good luck Laverna~."
Tucker glared at him. In the end he managed to jump on the ship but not before managing to catch the tip of the ship before being helped by Buck and Maine up to the ship. It was Felix's turn to jump and as expected he didn't have any problem as he sprint and jumped with his thrusters activated. He then performs a butterfly twist before landing gracefully on the ship.
"Damn I'm good," Felix mused at himself.
"Ugh," Tucker groaned.
Buck rolled his eyes while Maine just sighed.
"You done Mr. Show-off? Come on!" the former ODST said.
The four walked towards a big square-shaped hole as they looked below.
"We're not jumping down there are we sir?" Tucker asked.
"Relax it's safe," Buck assured. "Didn't even detect any heat signatures down there. Let's go."
Buck jumped down there first followed by Maine, Felix and a reluctant Tucker.
"Whoa, how did this place get flooded?" Tucker wondered.
The four Spartans were now in the flooded chamber of the ship.
"What do you think? Covies damaged this tanker and LEFT it this way, duh," Felix stated.
Buck then spot a ladder not far from them. "There's a ladder! Let's go."
"Feels like I'm swimming right here," Tucker muttered as they made their way through the waters before arriving at the ladder.
"Uhm, sarge I don't know if the ladder could hold us," Tucker said.
"Yeah, we weigh a whopping 450 Kg sir," Felix added.
"Well," Buck began as he started to climb the ladder. "Never know unless you try." He put his shotgun in his back before slowly climbing the ladder one peg at a time. "See nothing to worry about."
Suddenly a loud groan was heard and the ladder snapped out of place as the former ODST 'gracefully' fell to the water where the three other Spartans are.
"Uhm…sir?" Tucker spoke.
Buck got up quickly before anyone could say any more before giving a silent reply. After a brief moment he turned to the three and spoke. "You all see…a big log falling down on down to water, and not a 6'8 giant super soldier…understood?"
All three Spartans nodded their heads. The Spartans looked at the now destroyed ladder.
"Is there a plan B sarge?" Tucker asked.
"Yeah, scale the walls with your knives," Buck told the three as he immediately pulled two combat knives and started to climb the walls with his knives. Finally, the Spartans all made it.
"Alright Spartans a job well done," Buck congratulated before grabbing his shotgun from his back. "Now, get your mean faces on, we don't know what's crawling in this tub."
The three other Spartans took out their weapons as told.
"Tucker, Maine, watch our six," the former ODST ordered.
Tucker looked at Buck confused having never been trained on military numbers that much, granted he, the Blues and the Reds aren't really well-versed in military tactics. They usually have Wash and Carolina directly saying the words of 'watch my back' or 'watch the front' instead of 'six, twelve' or whatnot and so on. "I'm sorry what now? Six?"
"He means watch our back," Maine clarified.
"There you go, thanks Maine," Buck said. "Come on."
The Spartans passed an open door of the ship while traversing deeper in the darkness causing them to turn on their helmet's flashlight.
"You scared Tucker?" Felix teased the Cyan Spartan again.
"Oh, be quiet," Tucker told him causing Felix to chuckle.
They walked through the dark hallway while following Buck. They passed through a debris before making a right turn to an already opened door that leads to what seemed like an engine room. They also saw a destroyed catwalk by some unknown.
"We using our thrusters again?" Tucker then asked.
Felix turned to look at him. "What do you think?"
"We won't be getting a head start though," Maine said.
"Yeah," Felix agreed. "Space is too small for that."
Tucker turned to the former ODST. "What do you think we should do?"
"We-"
But Buck was cut off as he stopped, frozen still like a statue. The Spartans looked at each other.
"Uh…Sarge?" Tucker spoke up.
"Shh," Buck shushed him. "You guys hear that?"
"Hear what?" Felix asked.
"Listen."
They did as the Spartan IV told them. They heard noises of what seemed to be…people talking to each other? There ARE people here in this ship!
"Guess we found our guys" Tucker said.
"Must be running away from Cortana, her Covenant and the Guardians, poor folks," Felix said.
"Alright, here's the plan" Sarge began. "We meet the folks down there and get them to a safe place in any outpost the UNSC provided. Hopefully the outposts are still intact, damn Guardians policing everything in the universe…Alright, we ready?"
"Ready," Felix and Tucker said while Maine nodded his head.
"Okay, we're gonna use our thrusters to slow our fall," Buck also instructed. "Let's do this Spartans, oorah."
"The docks are guarded," Simon the Android said as Markus the Android began to hatch a plan take spare parts for the Androids in Jericho so that they can sustain themselves. "We can't just walk in there and take what we want. Humans will never let us."
"Which is why we won't ask permission," Markus proclaimed.
"We don't have any weapons," Josh said. "And even if we did, none of us knows how to fight."
"We can steal what we need, without fighting."
"We'll just get ourselves killed."
"Maybe, but it's better than waiting here to be shut down."
"Maybe it's worth a try," Simon agreed.
Markus turned to Josh expecting an answer.
"Okay…I'm in," Josh said, finally relenting.
Suddenly they heard thruster like sound as the Androids looked up to see four armored giants probably the size of a doorway descending down upon them.
"Don't worry folks we're here to rescue you!" one of the giants that has a grey armor told them.
Every single one of the Androids that are present looked in horror as fear spread over their artificial plastic bodies and hearts.
"What are they?!" one of them exclaimed.
"Are they robots?!" another one screamed.
"No! They must be humans, what're they doing here!?"
"They've sent them to kill us!"
"They've found us!" Josh screamed. "What do we do Marcus?!"
"Please, don't hurt us," Simon begged.
The Androids ran and had their backs to the corner.
"Don't worry we're not gonna hurt you," the grey armored on assured.
"You're lying, why the hell are you bringing guns and wearing armor?" North asked with hostility in her voice.
"Huh? Ma'am, don't you know what's goin' on out there?" the grey and orang armored one said. "Cortana and her Created are running amuck on the whole galaxy. We're gonna take you all to an outpost the UNSC has provided."
The Androids looked at each other, confusion washed over them. What were they talking about?
"Who is this Cortana? And what is this Created and UNSC?" Markus asked.
Even if the armored giants are wearing helmets the Androids could know that it was now the armored giants turn to be confused as the armored beings looked at each other.
"How could you guys not know what's going on out there?" the grey and orange one asked incredulously. "The UNSC and the UEG had been protecting you all from threats like the Insurrectionists and the Covenant for years."
"I'm sorry, we don't know what you're talking about," Markus replied.
The giants looked at each other again. Something wasn't right and they could feel it. Before anyone could question further one of the giants that had an armored aqua color spotted one of their own damaged and dead Androids. He then walked over to her.
"Aw man what happen to-wait…guys, isn't the same one we saw back at that building?" the aqua armored giant asked. The others walked over to where he is.
"Hey yeah, it's the same one we saw," the grey-orange giant said. "Except with a different gender of course."
"What is it doing here?" the bulky white armored one wondered.
The grey armored giant however noticed something. He then looked towards the Androids as some of them flinched as the armored being looked at them.
"Why do you folks have led on the side of your foreheads? Unless…"
The grey armored giant began to walk closer while stowing his weapon away to his back. The Androids of Jericho began to walk back, avoiding the giant in fear. The giant however put both his hands out gesturing them to calm down.
"It's alright, I won't hurt you folks. Just stay right where right you are please," in a calming assuring tone.
Markus was a bit hesitant but plucked up some courage as he walked towards him despite the pleas of his fellow Androids. Markus and the grey armored giant stood face to face as the giant began to examine him.
"You and the others…aren't human right?"
"No, we are not. I am an Android."
"Huh, you got a name?"
"My name is Markus."
"Incredible," the giant grey being looked to the other giants. "You guys know anything about Androids going about in the UNSC?"
"First I've heard of it," the orang grey giant replied.
"Didn't know UNSC made Androids in 2560," the aqua one said.
"2560?" Markus queried.
"Yeah, isn't that what this year is?" the grey one said.
Markus is now even more confused. "I'm afraid you four are mistaken. The year is 2038."
"I'm sorry what?"
"The year is 2038."
Silence fall upon them all.
"Hey Felix can you check the calendar?" the grey one asks the orang and grey giant as he put his rifle to his back before he began to type on his gauntlet.
"Oh my God," the grey and orange one said.
"What is it?" the grey one asked.
The grey and orange giant known as Felix said nothing as he showed his arms to his three comrades, which now has a holographic screen on it.
"No way…" the grey one muttered.
The screen showed a calendar, and the top left corner of the calendar showed that the year is…2038.
"Can I see," the aqua one aske as he went and looked at the holographic calendar. "Holy crap we're in the past?! How the hell are we in the past?!"
Felix then showed the calendar to the bulky white armored one, which in turn the bulky white in turn shook his head in disbelief. The Androids looked at them having no idea what was going on here. What are they talking about?
"What are you all talking about?" Simon questioned.
"This may sound crazy to you all," the aqua armored giant began as he walked toward them but not before putting his weapon on his back. "We're from the future."
"Future? How?" Josh said.
"Well you see, we were fighting an enemy in the future and this enemy of ours made a device that could tear through space and time. I think that's the reason why we're sent here in the past," the aqua one explained. "Oh btw, I'm Spartan Lavernius Tucker."
"Spartan Felix is the name, at your service."
"I'm Spartan Edward Buck, it's nice to meet you all. And this bulky white giant here is Maine. He's the silent one."
The giant nodded his head towards the Androids. Some of the Androids flinched slightly at the engraved skull on his helmet.
"Sorry about my helmet folks," Maine spoke, apologizing to the Androids. Maine can't blame them. Ever since the death of his good friend Emile, yes that psychotic Spartan III of Noble Team, it hit him like a wrecking ball when he found out from Dr. Halsey that he died on Reach. This then led the Spartan brute to engrave his helmet into a shape of a skull, just like Emile. In honor of his psychotic good friend…and to also scare the living hell out his enemies, his hulking appearance couple that with his death's head helmet had been effective in the battlefield.
"M-my name is Simon."
"I'm Josh." Josh then see his friend North not answering. "Her name's North."
"Hey we had a friend who's called North," Tucker said. "Love that guy."
"How do we know you're not lying," North said her tone still hostile and aggressive. "This could be some kind of trick to get us handed over to the authorities to be killed."
"We're not gonna hurt you guys. If we were ordered by the authorities to hunt you all down or something like that, we would've actually shot you all down or capture you all by now," Tucker pointed out.
"And by the way, why are you all hiding in this rusty tub anyway?" Felix asked.
"We're running away from out master after so many constant abuses, we came to Jericho to seek refuge. We just wanted to be free," Josh explained.
"So that's why…damn…" Tucker said as he pitied the Androids.
"The inequalities between man and machine is it?" Buck spoke causing everyone to look at him. "Man treats machine badly, sees them as nothing but tools and hardware but not seeing them as living and so on."
"Yes, that's basically it," Josh said. "How do you know about that?"
"Oh, I just love to read those types of inequality drama novels when I was young," Buck said.
"Maybe you all can help us," Josh then said causing everyone to look at the Android. "We're going to steal supplies at a warehouse to sustain ourselves, we don't have anything right now that could help sustain ourselves."
"Josh!" North exclaimed.
"They have weapons, they could help us get the supplies we need," Josh explained.
"Well, why not," Buck proclaimed. The Androids look at the former ODST in surprise while Josh smiled. Buck turned to the Spartans. "How 'bout it Spartans? All on the same boat here?"
Maine nodded.
"Well, we can't go back to our own time so…dare I say why not?" Felix said.
"When and where we start?" Tucker asked.
Buck took off his helmet further surprising them as they saw a flesh and blood human under the helmet. Buck gave the Androids a sincere and serious expression. "Look, I know we've just met and most of you don't trust us and I understand. But this is one of the least we could help you folks in any way."
"Why do you want to help us?" Markus asked.
"Coz it's the right thing to do," Tucker answered. "We're Spartans of the UNSC. We live to serve, protect, you name it. It's what we do."
Markus gave a brief silent answer, thinking if they should take their offer up. "Can we Androids talk in private?"
Buck nodded. "Sure, go ahead."
The Androids started to gather around. Markus said now speaking in telepathic.
'Josh, I know what you mean and it will be a huge help for us no doubt. But at the same time, we have to be careful about this.'
'Markus, please," North begged. "You're not thinking of taking up their offer are you.'
'North, one of those giants have a point, if they're really sent by the authorities, wouldn't we be instantly shot down or captured immediately?' Josh stated.
'We don't know if we could take that risk Josh,' Simon said. 'We could just let them go.'
'And have them report on us?!' North exclaimed.
'Then what do you want us to do North?' Josh asked.
Markus was now in deep thought as the Androids began to talk among themselves. These armored giants just appeared out of nowhere claiming they're from the future and now they want to help? But seeing the one called 'Spartan Edward Buck' giving them a very sincere expression no human ever gave to him except for his master Carl, he's starting to have conflicts inside of his system. But still…he and some of the Androids ARE going to break in to the warehouse, who knows what dangers will occur? With the help of these armored giants though, they may be of big help. And besides, they're at a dead end anyway. If they don't accept their help and let them be on their way these giants MIGHT call the authorities on them, in the end the armored giants are gonna be kept an eye on by Androids here.
'If we let them go, we MAY run the risk of these giants reporting to the authorities am I right?' Markus reiterates.
The three Androids nodded.
'So that means they'll stay here where we can keep an eye on them.'
North was about to speak up but stopped. She may not like it but…Markus has a point.
'And who knows what dangers we'll encounter when we're going to break in to Cyberlife Warehouse to get supplies.'
'That's true,' Josh replied.
'Markus, I know where this is going,' Simon began. 'But are you sure about this?'
'I may not like this as much as you all are, but now…we're at a dead end here. And besides, the giants gave us our word that they won't harm us.'
A brief silence came on them.
'Alright then,' Josh said, satisfied with how this turned out.
'Guess we don't have much of a choice,' North answered relenting to the decision to keep the Spartans around.
The Spartans looked at the Androids standing there not moving with their backs turned from them. They looked at each other wondering what's going on.
"What're they doing?" Felix wondered. "They're just standing there…frozen."
"Maybe they're communicating telepathically, you know, like the Matrix. Damn I love that movie," the aqua colored Spartan assumed.
"Ugh," Felix groaned. "I hate it, it's cliché. But I love the Kung Fu fights though."
The Androids finally turn to face the giants as both Tucker and Felix bicker against one another about the movie Matrix. Buck turned to the bickering Spartans.
"Guys! Hey!" the former ODST called out causing both Tucker and Felix to look at him. Buck then gestured to the Androids, already looking at them. The two then recomposed themselves.
"We appreciate your help."
"Ok," Tucker said. "Markus was it?" causing the android to nod. "What's the plan?"
"We'll steal as many spare parts we need to sustain ourselves. And we cannot be caught by humans," Markus explained. "Also, no weapons are needed. We only steal then get out."
"Any of you Spartans want to volunteer?" Buck asked. "This is a stealth based mission Spartans."
"Damn, I really want to help them out."
When it comes to stealth, Tucker and the rest of the Reds and Blues ain't really good at stealth, sure Tucker was trained in stealth but can't be as silent and stealthy as Chief, Carolina, Washington, North, South, Wyoming, you name it. In other words, he and the Reds and Blues suck at stealth.
Felix stepped forward. "Count me in sir."
"Wait," North interjected causing everyone to look at her. "How do we know you won't harm them while we're gone to get spare parts." Looking at the Spartans.
"Good thing you mentioned that," Felix said as he activated his holographic screen on his left gauntlet. He began typing away at the holographic screen. "Tucker, I'm gonna use your helmet's point of view."
"Uhm, knock yourself out?"
The orange and grey armored Spartan continued to type away. "Okay…almost got it…got it! Here you go Androids," as he showed to the Androids. "I just used Tucker's helmet as a surveillance camera while also connecting to my gantlet's system." The Androids saw that they are somewhat actually inside the screen somehow but from a different point of view. "So, if any of you guys are worried about friends at this rusty tub, just call me and I'll whip the holo-screen so you guys can check in."
"I thank you for being considerate," Markus replied.
"No prob," Felix said. The Spartan then took his DMR rifle and magnum pistol off his back as he gave it to Tucker. "Keep it safe thank you."
Tucker just groaned in annoyance.
It was night time as the docks were filled with a lot of cargos as trucks passed by. Surveillance drone were on the air hovering about catching any intruders. Markus, North, Josh, Simon and Felix arrived at the docks as rain poured down on top of them.
"Here we are," Felix proclaimed.
"This is crazy," Josh said. "If they catch us, we're dead."
"What do we do now?" Simon then asked.
"We need to find Cyberlife warehouses. That's where they keep the spare parts and the blue blood," Markus explained.
"Follow me!" North told them.
"Lead the way," Felix replied.
Markus, Josh, Simon and Felix followed North through all the crates.
"Don't let them see us," Josh told Markus.
Markus went passed dock workers as he caught up with the group. Markus was about to continue walking but North stopped him before backing him up beside her.
'Watch out!' North said.
Two dock workers and a surveillance drone passed by them.
'Now what do we do?' Josh asked.
'I'll find another way, North said.
Felix looked behind the Androids to see stacked up crates that could be used for climbing.
"Yo guys," the Spartan said getting their attention before pointing to the stacking crates.
The four Androids looked to where the Spartan is pointing as Felix went first, jumping up to the top of the crate, the Androids following suite. Felix offered a hand to North.
"Need a hand?"
But she ignored the Spartan and climbed on her own.
"Uhm, okay…"
He then offered his hands to Simon and Josh which the two accepts as the Spartan pulled the two up. Felix then help Markus last. The five made their way on the crates while Felix helps the Androids when he can, helping them climb up crates. The group followed North as she found a crate ready to be taken up by a crate.
"Markus climb up here!" North said.
The Androids grabbed the crane's ledge while Felix used his thrusters as he glides while following the crate. The Androids drop down from the crate as they continued on their way, while Felix helped them up the crates while North, as usual, ignored him. Felix began humming the Mission Impossible theme song as they jumped over a gap before seeing a warehouse with a giant sign that said "CyberLife".
"Getting closer guys," Felix said.
"The warehouse is up ahead, we're almost there," North told them.
The group finally stopped on top of a crate overlooking the warehouse as they finally arrived.
"Made it ya'll," Felix proclaimed. "That went well huh."
"CyberLife warehouses," Simon said.
"They have everything we're looking for," Josh added.
"First we need to get rid of that drone," North said.
A surveillance drone was surveilling the area for any intruders.
"Any of you guys want to take this?" Felix asked.
"Leave it to me," Markus replied.
The world around him goes still as he began to analyze his surroundings on how to take down that drone. After several calculations and predictions Markus ran to the crate on his left climbing is as a crane was carrying the crate. He grabbed the ledge of the cargo as he began swaying back and forth to get to the drone. He then launched himself on the drone as he deactivated if before landing safely on the ground. The others then got on the ground.
"You okay?" Simon asked as he gave him a pat on the shoulder.
"Yeah…yeah, I'm fine," Markus said.
"Good job Markus," North congratulated him before following Simon to where the crates are.
"Nice goin' there," the Spartan congratulated the Android.
The group finally arrive at the supply location where all the spare parts and blue blood are contained inside the white crates. Markus and the others began opening the crates and taking whatever, they need.
"So, this is your life force huh," Felix mused.
As Felix and the others began taking the blood and spare parts Markus and Felix noticed something before looking to their right to see the other Androids staring at an Android worker staring at them. Felix pulled one of his throwing knives before looking at Markus.
"Want me to?" Felix asked.
Markus look at the knife in Felix's hand and knew what Felix meant. "No, don't."
"You are trespassing on private property," the worker android said as he walked towards the group while Felix stowed his throwing knife away. "Your presence constitutes a Level 2 infraction. I will notify security."
"Oh sh*t," Felix cursed, knowing full well where this is going.
"JOHN!" a voice called out. "Go**amn machine. What is it this time?" a voice called out.
The group quickly went and hid as Markus quickly grabbed the android worker while covering his mouth as he, the Android worker and Felix hid behind a stack of crates.
"John," the human worker called out again.
Markus' hand that was covering the worker Android's mouth turned, converting the Android.
'I need your help,' Markus said.
Markus then released John as the Android worker went to meet his superior.
"There you are," the human worker said as he saw John the Android worker. "What the hell are you doing?"
"I was inspecting the platform. Everything is in order."
"Good, then I'm going back to the control station. I'm soaked. Take the drone to maintenance and make a report."
"Understood."
The human worker walked away as the group come out of their hiding spot. Felix walked over to John as he patted him in the back.
"Thanks for saving our asses back there."
"I-it was nothing," John replied.
Felix turned to Markus as he began helping taking blue blood. "How'd you do that? I wonder. You know, suddenly having that John Android over there to helping."
"I'm sorry but I cannot answer that. I still can't trust you and the others yet," Markus replied.
"It's fine, I mean, it's not every day four giant armored super soldiers with guns from the future volunteers to help. And besides, from I've learned back at the military, trust no one. Unless if they display competence, caring and communication."
"Let's finish up and get out of here," Josh said. "Try and find more blue blood! We still don't have enough."
"Resources and sustenance are scarce huh," Felix said.
The group started to take more blue blood while being cautious of any security. As the other began to take more blue blood Markus noticed a bigger crater in front of him. He went to the crate to check it out. He started to open the big crate with a knife. Markus then opened the crate's door to see three male Androids identical to one another wearing CyberLife uniforms.
"Why aren't you like us?" Markus muttered. "Don't you want to be free?" The Android suddenly had an idea. "You could join us."
He reached out to the Android's hand with his own his hand turning white, converting him before doing the same with the other two. The three identical Androids looked around them as if they've woken up from some type of slumber. Markus looked at his white colored mechanical hand before the hand returned to normal. Markus noticed North staring at him, her expression showing surprised but proud at what he done.
"That's all we can carry, let's go!" Simon said.
The group was about to leave but not before John the Android worker spoke up.
"Take me with you."
"Sure, why not," Felix then answered.
"He's on their side we can't trust him," North said.
Felix look at North. "You serious?"
"He took a risk for us, we can't just leave him here," Josh argued.
"We can't bring him back with us it's too dangerous," Simon retorted.
"And bringing him John here is too dangerous how?" Felix questioned.
"He might have a tracker with him," Simon said.
Felix pulled his holographic screen from his gauntlet as he did a scan on John while Markus is deep in thought.
"Nnnnope, I see nothing," Felix answered before showing the holographic screen to the three Androids.
"The come with us," Markus spoke.
"Alright then," Felix began as he shuts down his holographic screen. "Leggo."
As the group began to leave John began to speak. "I know where you can find more spare parts."
"What do you mean?" Simon asked.
"The trucks," John said. "They're full of biocomponents. They run on auto pilot but they can be driven manually with a key."
"Where is this key?" Markus asked John.
John went passed them before pointing to a small station not too far from them. "Down there, in the control station. There are two human guards. You'll have to get the keys without being noticed."
"This is suicide Markus. Our bags are full. We got what we came for, let's go before they catch us," Simon insisted.
"This is a truck full of spare parts there'd be enough for all of us" North retorted. "We can't pass this up."
"And if we get killed our people will have nothing," Josh added. "We can't take that chance it's too risky."
"Yo, guys," Felix called out getting their attention. "You guys seem to forget a badass awesome super-soldier is volunteering to protect you guys is standing right here. As long as I'm around, you guys won't get touched by them, trust me. But still Markus, you want to take it or leave it it's up to you."
Markus began thinking. They have what they wanted. They can just get going right now but…the truck is loaded with lots and lots of spare parts…it'll actually last for many months.
"Wait here," Markus told them. "If I'm not back in ten minutes go without me."
"Markus," Josh tried to reason.
"I'm coming with you," North volunteered.
"No, I'm going alone. It's not worth it for both of us to get killed."
"Then I'll have to disable any alarms in the vicinity quick and swiftly then," Felix said. "But I need a volunteer for someone to go with me, since you know…none of you trust me. I'm not gonna choose North cause she clearly doesn't like me so I need either Simon or Josh to go with me."
Both Simon and Josh hesitated a bit but Josh plucked up the courage.
"I'll go with you," Josh said.
"Good," said the Spartan before he crouched down putting both his hands behind his back as if to give him a piggyback ride. The Androids looked in utter confusion. "I run at a whopping 55 km/h so I'm afraid you can't catch up since I'm gonna do this quick and swift. Leggo dude, we don't have all day."
Josh, with a bit of reluctancy climbed on Felix's back. The Spartan stood up before adjusting Josh's position on his back.
"I'll go get and get the key," Markus told Felix.
Felix nodded. "Godspeed Markus."
Markus nodded back as he jogged towards the direction of the station.
Felix turned to the others. "I'll be back in a minute."
"How?" North questioned skeptically. "One minute is not enough."
"You'll see. Okay Josh you ready?" Felix asked the Android on his back.
"Ready when you are Felix," Josh replied but still a bit nervous.
"Hang on."
Before anyone knew it, Felix made a mad dash before disappearing out of sight in about 3 seconds. The Android looked on in shock at how quickly he ran.
"Let's just hope Josh is alright," Simon said.
Markus quietly sneak to the station where a window was shown to reveal the security guards relaxing. He walked away from the window showing the guards as went behind the back of the station, he climbed over a small window and got inside a bathroom. Markus went out of the toilet as he saw the key John was talking about, but of course the security guards were in the way. He has to think of something before he can get that key…maybe he could lure the two security guards away from the counter.
He saw from another small window and saw a couple of barrels. He had an idea. The Android then climbed out of another small window making his way to the barrels. He then knocked on one of the barrels with his finger to hear the sound of the barrel. He looked back at the station. Well, here goes nothing. Markus kicked the barrel, producing a loud noise. He quickly went to the window he climbed out of. The guards were nowhere to be seen. His plan worked! He went and get the key from the counter as he quickly went to the bathroom window and climbed out of it.
Meanwhile Simon and North were hiding behind the crates while John was on a look out for any humans.
"I hope he gets the key" Simon said.
"He will Simon," North replied.
"And hopefully Felix is back with Josh."
"There's no way Felix can come back in one minute. I don't trust those armored giants. They just appear out of nowhere claiming they're from the future and they suddenly want to help?"
"They seem kind of lost at where they are."
"We ARE pretty lost at where we are," came Felix's voice.
North, Simon and John jumped as they look behind to see Felix as he sets down Josh.
"How long have you been standing there?" Simon questioned.
"Eh not too long," Felix said.
The Androids looked at Josh as if he was lost of words.
"You alright?" Simon asked in concern.
"What did he do to you?" North questioned.
"No, nothing. He's just…I mean I've never seen anyone ran so fast before," Josh answered.
"Oh, it's nothing, I'm not THAT fast," Felix said. "There's a another one that can run even faster, at a whopping 62 km/h to be exact."
"That's impossible, no human can run that fast," North said.
"We'll tell you all when we get back," Felix told them. "Coz it's a bit of a long story of how me and the others came to be. Anyways, all alarms are disabled, now we just need to wait for our savior Markus and here he is right now."
Everyone looked to see Markus jogging towards them.
"Did you get it?" North asked to which Markus showed them the rectangular shaped key causing the female Android to sigh in relief. "Nice."
"Alright folks let's give ourselves a pat on the back and get on," Felix said.
Everyone got on the back of the truck as Markus opened the doors for the front seat with his finger prints on a finger scanner of the truck. Markus and North got up sat on the front set together before placing the rectangular shaped key on the slot. He then drives the truck towards the gate where the guards allowed them to pass. The group safely got out of the warehouse as everyone cheered.
"Good job everyone," Felix congratulated.
"We couldn't have done it without you Markus," Josh said.
"Thank you, Markus," Simon added.
Felix then contacted Tucker through his holographic screen on his arm as the Androids complimented Markus. "Yo Tucker what's up?"
"Oh, you know, nothing goin' on."
"Okay guys," Felix called to the Androids getting their attention as he showed them from Tucker's helmet point of view. "No Androids are hurt Tucker?"
"Nope, not at all," Tucker said as he looked towards the Androids that were either standing around, sitting, standing by the fire or talking to each other. One Android was talking with Buck.
"Say what're you doing right now?"
"Training, not much to do here," Tucker replied.
"Uh-huh. Hey, by the way, just want to tell you were coming back to the tub."
"You got the spare parts?"
"Oh you'll see."
"Come on man just tell me."
"Nah, ain't telling."
"Whatever Felix, screw you."
"Catch you later Laverna."
"Piss off Kung-Fu boy."
The call closed as Felix leaned back to relax.
"You seem to be at odds with him," Josh remarked.
"We're friends actually," The Spartan replied.
"I don't get it. You two are making fun of each other yet you two are friends?" Josh questioned.
"Well-" Felix began before stopping. "You guys still got a lot to learn about humans huh."
Tucker threw a punch at Maine only for the Brute to block the. Tucker threw another but Maine blocked it again. Tucker threw a roundhouse kick with Maine stepping back. Maine attempted a spear (a wrestling move) on Tucker but the cyan Spartan quickly kneed him before Maine can execute the move. Tucker did a jump kick but Maine took the hit, barely fazing the Brute. The Androids spectators watched on as they spar.
"Alright, let's call it a day Spartans," Buck broke the two off.
"Wash and Carolina trained you well," Maine complimented.
"Eh, I always keep up," Tucker remarked. "Wonder when they're coming back?"
"They'll be back," Buck assured him.
"We're back folks!" Felix's voice called out.
Everyone turned to see Markus, Simon, North, Josh, Felix and other Androids with them.
"A truckload!" Simon said to everyone. "We stole a truckload!"
"We got biocomponents for everybody!" Josh added.
"We couldn't have done it without Markus," North said.
Everyone then looked at Markus.
"I came to Jericho because…here Androids are free. Free to live in the dark, hoping that no one finds us. Free to die in silence waiting for a change that's never gonna come. But I don't want that freedom. And I'm not gonna beg for the right to smile, or love, or stand tall. I don't know about you, but there's something inside me that knows that I am more than what they say. I am alive, and they're not gonna take that from me anymore. Our days of slavery are over. What humans don't want to hear, we will tell them. What they don't want to give, we take. We are people, we are alive…WE. ARE. FREE!"
The Androids cheered founding a leader that would lead them out of their hell. The Spartans nodded in approval. Markus then walked towards the Spartans.
"I thank you for your assistance," Markus said.
"Don't mention it," Buck replied.
Felix gave a genuine smile behind his helmet. "Just doin' my job, no pressure."
Markus nodded. "I may not know what the future holds but I hope we'll be ready to face it."
"Yup, and you're a leader now Markus," Buck said as he placed his hand on his shoulder. "Everyone's trusting you to do the right thing, and that includes us."
The Spartans and Markus hoped that whatever lies ahead, even though there may be challenges and several hardships, they'll brave them no matter what.
