Hello everyone! Welcome to this idea that I think is original, but totally isn't!
...
...
...
Anyways! Yes this another one of those RWBY crossovers that I have been making. This time with the wonderful world of Pokémon!
This journey is going to follow our the tried and true blond, Jaune Arc!
But! Before everyone starts raising pitchforks and click off this story saying that 'Your just a Jaune Apologist or a Jaune meat rider' let me just say I'm sorry.
But I really like writing him in different scenarios and different fictions, and Pokémon is no different.
However like the Pokémon anime he will not be alone. He will be with three lovely travel companions.
Including a certain sisterly duo and one lovely red head.
If you don't know who those are, then I don't know what to tell you...
But don't fret readers, the other four will show up in the story later in their own kind of way, traveling together in the Remnant region.
Will this be a little bit more light hearted compared to actual RWBY?
Maybe it will... maybe it won't. While the threat of Grimm are not going to be a factor in this one. You still have pocket monsters spewing fire and other projectiles in the air along with their overall presence and you know...
Gods like Legendaries and Mythic Pokémon alike...
So... its up in the air.
But enough of my yapping, I need to leave that to the story.
I don't own Pokémon or RWBY as they are owned by RT and Gamefreak respectively.
Chapter 1: The Arc Introduction!
The world of Remnant was one of mystery.
Changing through multitudes of evolution thanks to forces unknown, by an ever-changing force.
Before their was a human society in this world, creatures of unbelievable power ruled the land and made it into what Remnant was today.
Countless creatures that would battle for dominance, territory, food, and many other ways of life. But each of them found a way of life to continue to survive in this world.
They were everywhere you looked.
The grassy plains that stretched for miles that held all types of creatures.
The rocky mountains of the north that held more sturdy lifeforms, even some of the more frigid monsters that lived at the top of the cold mountains and the dark secrets that were caves.
The deep waters of the blue were a particularly rich environment for these monsters, whether they live in rivers, ponds, lakes, or even the all mighty ocean.
All walks of nature had these monsters of incredible power. As time went on and society started to form, the vestiges of humanity started to understand and live with these creatures, to coexist with each other.
Humanity and these monsters learned from each other. For humanity and the Faunus race they trained and used these monsters for all types of purposes, each creature having different abilities for each task as human and faunus society continued to expand and grow.
Studying and research to learn about these monsters with these abilities and natural powers that they possess for the future.
Companionship as they were sentimental and sentient with their feelings, showing love towards the humans to form a friendship that could last forever.
Competition as the bonds to humans and faunus grew closer to them, whether it be a contest of strength, speed, or endurance.
However while there is harmony for some with this union of these creatures, others saw conflict was the answer to their problems with these creatures as the tools of battle.
Thus... The Great War of Remnant began.
Battlefields were created, tools of war were made to try and turn the tides of battles from humans and faunus alike. Leaving scars on the land to look back on for the history books. These creatures were the trump cards or the deciding factors and their masters were the commanders. In the end, the best tacticians and trainers of these beasts were the victors of this grand conflict.
Years down the line after enough bloodshed was spilt, cooler heads prevailed and the representatives of these kingdoms came forth to call for a treaty. Wanting peace for all, along with the creatures that they called friends and family.
When the dust settled, only four established nations of the world came out of the plethora of conflict with the land of Remnant.
Vale, Atlas, Vacuo, and the Mistral, these were the four kingdoms to rule the lands of Remnant.
Though there were other minor lands and islands that made their own communities with their types of creatures that were special, they paled in comparison to the four titans that were the ruling kingdoms.
As the conflict started to die down as, the healing process in the world of Remnant started as the kingdoms started working together with their creature partners and friends. But to placate and entertain the masses for the violence and achievements they had made in finding this peace during these years, the competitions that were made for these creatures turned into intense competitions of battle.
During these times, man and faunus kind continued to grow along with them, and as such massive technological advancements were made thanks to the efforts of these wonderful creatures, and thanks to those advancements, human and faunus kind civilization had grown in the process.
Though... animals were not the appropriate title for these partners and friends.
No... these creatures needed a name and one that was appropriate as a species all together.
Thus the name of these monsters... were named Pokémon and the people that own these wonderful creatures were called Pokémon Trainers.
(Saunus Continent, Ansel)
Another beautiful morning was rising in the sleepy town Ansel. The people there definitely took longer to wake up than most. The Pokémon there felt more relaxed as you heard Chatot and other types of Flying Types sing their morning birdsongs.
Well... all except one particular building did anyways.
A ranch in the far reaches of the town. Where multiple Pokémon of all walks of life roamed in the early morning sun to get their grazing and wake up for their exercise to start the day.
While the residents of this house are just waking up, there is one that had been too restless to sleep a wink, thanks to a certain program that he was watching in the living room.
"What an incredible display of Pokémon battling we have going on here today folks! The elegant Winter Schnee is giving it her all in this 6 on 6 challenge, against one of the most toughest competitors in all of Remnant, the Elite Four Member Theodore Woodstock!" The TV announcer said as the crowd in the very packed stadium cheered on wildly.
"This lovely woman has been putting on a show for us as she has just used her chilling Cryogonal to put the mighty Hippowdon under Theodore down for the count. Another wonderful combination of a hail storm and a mighty Blizzard to put one of the strongest Pokémon on Theodore's team out of commission!" The crowd in the stadium cheered even louder from that, seems that most were rooting for the supposed underdog in this situation.
"AW YEAH! That was so cool!" The ecstatic voice came from a young blond male teenager, as Jaune Arc couldn't help but bounce up and down from watching the exciting match that was going on currently.
"That Winter and her Ice Types have been decimating some of Theodore's team!" Jaune remembered that Theodore was giving Winter trouble with his Sandstorm style team with his Dugtrio being faster than ever and Camerupt that has been putting her Ice-Types in fits.
When she lost her Jynx and Atlasian Sandslash in the first couple rounds it was looking rough for the white haired beauty of Atlas.
But then her Cloyster had eventually tied the match by getting a double knockout against the Dugtrio and Camerupt. With a beautiful mixture of freezing the field with Water Pulse and Ice Beam, making the field slick for the Eruption Pokémon and putting the Mole Pokémon on ice.
Then the elite four trainer brought out his mighty Torterra to obliterate the Bivalve Pokémon in a violent Leaf Storm attack for a counterattack and knocking Cloyster out of the competition.
Back and forth this match went, everyone was already counting on Theodore to win with his massive experience as a trainer, you didn't become a member of the Elite Four for nothing and he was definitely showing it today.
When odds like that are against you, must people would tell you its hopeless and that you should throw in the towel.
But Winter Schnee, heir of the Schnee Capsule Mon's Company was taking on one of the best trainers this side of Remnant at the moment, hoping to take the Pokémon league on her skills alone. She wasn't deterred at all, in fact she was smiling at this very moment in time.
A moment that a young teenage Jaune Arc refused to miss.
"But this match up is far from over folks! The are trainers tied up and each one has two Pokémon each left in play. Let's see what the veteran Theodore will have next up his sleeve in this electrifying battle!" The Elite Four member didn't look phased, his grey eyes staring back at the suppose ice princess that was before him. The woman was good he'll give Winter that, but...
He wasn't an Elite Four member for nothing!
"Go Steelix!" Theodore announced, as he threw his Pokeball. When the Pokémon materialized its massive size hit the ground with a massive 'THUD', as the iron snake roared in intimidating fashion.
"There you have it folks, the mighty Iron Snake Pokémon Steelix has entered the battlefield!" The snake like creature raised tall like the biggest tower or statue that was ever built. "While Winter Schnee has had the advantage over most of Theodore's ground types so far, it looks like her next challenge in the mighty monster will be her toughest yet!"
"Come on Winter! You got this!" Jaune cheered, he really wanted the supposed underdog to win this fight. Its been a couple of years since their was a trainer to try and match the might of the elite four members.
However. Before anymore heart pumping action could be played on the screen, suddenly a little bullet hit the power button turning off the TV.
"H-Hey!" He looked behind the couch to see the culprit, only to see the light yellow colored form with a noticeable leaf on her head.
"Leaf." The Leafeon said, with a no nonsense tone of voice.
"U-Uh... hi Petal how are you doing?" The young man gulped out as his forehead started to sweat. "Is... is Jade..."
"Ahem." Another voice sounded out in the living room, making the teen freeze in fear as he soon found what he was afraid of...
A tall blond woman with deep blue eyes and blond hair that was cut to shoulder length flowing on down, with one light green lock on the right side of her face, looking at her brother with a bloodthirsty smirk on her face and furrowed brows to tell that he was in trouble.
"H-Hey sis! What's up?" As he chuckled out in nervousness. The thirteen year old Jaune's fearful blue eyes tried to find an escape route from his oldest sister, but it seemed like all of the doors were behind Jade and the windows were a no go because of her sister's oldest companion Petal.
"Don't what's up me little brother." In a matter of seconds, it looked like a Psychic types teleport as she was in front of him and putting him in a tight headlock. "Dad needs all of us to help out feeding the Ranch's Pokémon in the morning, and that includes you!" As she started a light noogie on the kids head.
"Ow ow ow! You know that hurts, so stop it already will ya!" Jaune cried out as he felt the irritating feel of knuckles from his sisters fist quickly stop. "Ah... jeez my head... Why do you this to me Jade? Shouldn't you wake up Amethyst like that since she always sleeps in all the time?" He rubbed his head in slight irritation.
"Hmph, fortunately for Amy, she has her own little wake up call thanks to Iris. Thank goodness for that Espeon." Jade couldn't believe that her Amy's Pokémon partner was more responsible than her. "You also know that out of everyone right now in the house, you currently don't own any Pokémon right now to get you up. So that's why your big sister Jade here is doing a good service for all the family."
"Jeez sis, you didn't have to rub it in." The blond teen grumbled out.
"What was that?"
"Nothing at all Jade." He said quickly.
"You're damn right nothing. Now come on, get dressed and let's get a move on squirt! Time to feed the Pokémon!" With that said, Jade and her Leafeon headed through the kitchen towards the backdoor, which lead to the outside fields.
Jaune only sighed out in defeat as he went to get his clothes from his room to start the day at the Arc Pokémon Ranch.
"Oh come on, at least let me have a little breakfast first." The blond complained.
(Music: Pokémon Black White- Nuvema Town)
The early sunlight shined bright in the fenced off plains of the ranch as tons of Pokémon that loved to graze and run on the open fields of the ranch finally started their day off with tons of morning exercise, mock battles to keep them sharp, and to top it all off food being fed to them to recharge their batteries.
The Arc Ranch was a massive square of land made to hold and serve other Pokémon trainers. Like a kind of vacation home for certain Pokémon for trainers when they need rest and relaxation. Usually their parents tell them that, but in reality its a place for where trainers can't hold all of their Pokémon they capture. They choose to send them here for safe keepings for when they continue on their travels.
Since Ansel isn't exactly a huge town, the Arc's don't have a full ranch of Pokémon running around, but business is still going strong with the trainers that come through their little farming town community as it is close to a particular little cave area they have to pass through for their journey.
While the area doesn't seem like an interesting place for regular trainers and is just a slight nuisance for people's journey...
Jaune couldn't help but want to explore the Quartz Tunnel that was near his town.
The teen was putting the Pokémon food in the feeding stalls for most of the grazers that were here.
Rapidash and their Atlasian forms, Mudsdale, and Zebstrika were usually the ones in the stables. So when he finally distributed that part it was time to change some of the bedding there as well with some nice hay.
The teen let out a sigh of relief after he was done with that task in the mornings. Usually when he got to the horse Pokémon and started to feed them and clean their area his job for feeding them was the last task for today before he could do something else.
He shivered on having to deliver the food to the ponds. Those Ducklett and Swanna were aggressive as all get out.
"Those little devils surely came from the Distortion World, I just know it!" Anytime he was trying to be nice to those thing he always got a fresh dose of a Water Gun for his troubles.
But Jaune couldn't complain, he finally was able to relax now that his feeding delivery was done. Now for the fun parts of his day!
He headed towards the open fields and just took in a deep breath of fresh air towards to make him feel relaxed.
The blond looked around area to see multiple Pokémon either running around like Tauros and Milktank. Multiple flying Pokémon like Pidove, Starly, and Pidgey with their evolved forms in a big flock, soaring through the blue sky.
He checked the lake part that was a bit farther to see a plethora of Water Pokémon relaxing and having a good time. Though his feet took him back to the ranch house.
Jaune was definitely excited to see the area closest towards the ranch house as those are usually where the new arrivals of Pokémon graze and eat. That section is usually reserved for Jade and his parents since they want the new Pokémon to feel welcome and not too startled for their first time here.
Plus usually there would be Pokémon that Jaune might have never seen before yet so the prospect was definitely exciting. He quickly went over towards a giant rock that could see over the fence. He quickly made his way towards the nearest one, a silvery spiny rock fixture, but still he was able to find a place to sit no less.
When he stood up, he felt the rock shift slightly, he didn't pay any mind to it as checked to see how sturdy it was by stepping on a couple of times to make sure. When it didn't move at all now he stopped paying attention and turned his head toward his ranch house he lived in as he saw the new arrivals with his Mom and Dad with big sis Jade standing there out in the open fields.
However if he was paying more attention to his surroundings, he would have seen piercing red eyes opening up on the bottom of this silver rock.
The first one that he saw was an cool looking owl Pokémon with a leaf on the front of its chest, there was another little centipede that was glowing red, one was a sizeable lizard that was dark grey on the top half and bright yellow on the bottom.
"That one is definitely an Electric Type." Jaune couldn't help but grin, it was just so cool to see Pokémon that hadn't seen yet. Sometimes TV and some of the books he read as kid didn't have all of the Pokémon in the world recorded on there. So what better way to see Pokémon you had never seen before with your very eyes than in live action and with other trainers Pokémon no less.
The boy had a smile on his face, but clearly he wasn't happy at the moment when his thoughts went toward other people's Pokémon, he felt the loneliness of it all.
"I want to become a trainer..." He felt a bit bummed, by legal standards he could go out and catch a Pokémon, in fact he could catch three if he so wanted. However his father had other ideas as he wanted to see his son catch his first Pokémon.
He loved his father, especially since he was a top trainer back in the day... But Jaune wanted to make him proud in his own way. Which meant he wanted to do this on his own.
"I just wish he'd understand that." The teen was so caught in his own thoughts that he didn't notice the big shifting of the rock he was on.
"~Yaawwwwwwnnnnnnnn~" Jaune felt himself freeze as he felt the rock now moving more frequently. The thirteen year old blond teen looked down once more and his eyes bulged out of his head as he noticed what he was standing on.
This was NOT a rock.
The giant rock formation that was now identified as a big Rhyhorn shook its back to remove something that it felt up there, the monster thought it was way too heavy to be a bird.
"Woah W-WOAHHHH!" Jaune couldn't held his balance anymore and he fell backwards, hitting the ground with a hard 'THUD'.
"OW! Aw... my back." The kid groaned out in pain as he got up a little slowly. He should really be more careful when it comes to his balance.
However he'd have no time to talk about that right now as he looked up towards the thing he was standing on...
To see a very alert and upset looking rocky beast starring him down.
"Uhhhhh... Nice Rhyhorn?" He said as the animal snorted out steam and growled out at him, while Jaune was slowly backing up from the angry Pokémon.
"Urraafffff!" It cried out as it was moving its right paw back, scratching the ground and readying itself.
Then after a couple of seconds, the Rhyhorn started running at the teen.
At the entrance of the Arc ranch house, a discussion was being held between the mother and father of the family.
Nicholas Arc, a mountain of a man with blond hair styled with a wolf tail. With a magnificent blond beard that has been showing its age as some white salted colored hairs have been showing up nowadays.
He was talking to the love of his life, his lovely wife Juniper Arc, about their son's future endeavors, with their oldest daughter acting as referee in case the discussion gets a little too heated.
But in actuality she was secretly on mom's side when it comes to this particular discussion.
"Honey, just listen to me on this. I think would be really good for Jaune to join a Pokémon academy this year. It will get some experience with battles and then we'll see where it goes from there." Juniper aging like fine wine when being in her 40's. with golden locks going down to her upper back and charming turquoise eyes that were beautiful to everyone around her.
The bearded man only let out a tired sigh, he's been through this talk a bunch of times this year, but doesn't get any easier to tell his wife this. "June we talked about this..." He said, as he watched the new Pokémon get used to their open surroundings. "What our son needs is a bit more maturity right now. Until then I won't put him those schools or give him a Pokémon of his own."
"Now Nicholas that hardly seems fair!" June giving her hubby the narrowed eyed look that would make him sweat usually.
"Dad you're not giving Jaune a fair shake to prove himself." Jade now cutting into the conversation. "I've seen him studying and watching battle strategies in different matches. His way of thinking and and I think he could be a better battler than all of us. He could even beat you if you gave him the chance!"
"That's is still not enough in my eyes Jade, battling isn't everything when it comes to Pokémon, you and your sisters know that." The Arc father explained.
"Then you haven't see our baby brother take care of our Eeveelutions then." Sometimes when the sisters had an emergency or wanted to into town for some relaxing downtime without their Pokémon on them, Jaune always volunteered to watch over them, to feed and bathe them, and to just take care of them. "Petal here really enjoys Jaune's company here, isn't that right?" She looked down her companion.
"Leaf Leafeon Leaf!" Voicing up her agreement. She loved it when Jauney took care of her, especially some scratches that she couldn't reach behind her ears.
She also recalled most of her Eeveelution sisters loving him to back up that claim. Especially Elsa the Glaceon and Iris when he spends time with them. Almost all of the Eeveelution loved him.
Except for Bolt... for some reason she shocks him sometime, but she voices that its all in the name of love for Jolteon's.
"Be that as it may I will not budge on this sweetie." The Arc father shook his head. "I know kids and teenagers usually have their first Pokémon when they are thirteen and thinks its all fun and games. But Pokémon more than just pets." Nicholas said, " They dangerous creatures no matter how small or how cuddly they can be."
"Sweetie I think your overreacting. We aren't saying to start him off with Arceus forsaken Gyrados or a Hydregion." Juniper tapped hee finger to her chin before making a suggestion. "Maybe we could give him one of the Eevee eggs to take care of? Our baby has already taken care of the evolved forms." The mother said.
"The anwser is still no honey." Shutting down that option immediately.
"Seriously Dad?" Jade was starting to feel bad for her baby brother now.
"As a heart attack young lady." Nick went on to continue.
"Listen Junebug and you too Jade." He said with a said somber smile. "Right now I'm just doing what I think is right for Jaune. The laws now state that sixteen year olds can go on Pokémon journeys. However I don't know if our boy will be ready."
"What are you saying, that our baby boy can't become a trainer?!" Nicholas knew his wife was starting to get steamed, but he had to be firm at this stance.
"No that's not what I mean at all. Its just... as his father and legal guardian I say he needs more time to mature and understand about the responsibilities as a not only a trainer, but a caretaker of Pokémon. With enough time he can be one, just not now."
"But Nicky."
"I won't move from this stance honey. Unless he is mature enough and knows the dangers these creatures have." Nicholas knows first hand back when he was a trainer. "I won't allow him to go on a journey or have a Pokémon." Nicholas explained.
Nick couldn't believe this?! Why were they fighting him so hard on this stance? Didn't they see the dangers of Pokémon and what one wrong move could do to their kids?
Hell the girls thought that this was bad, try allowing a ten year old Jaune capable of having a Pokémon. Because that was definitely the case back when regulations were more lax.
That would be even worse! Imagine freaking snot nosed ten year old's could capture and wield these dangerous creatures with incredible power. Imagine the harm these kids could bring if they didn't know any better or hell even just using their Pokémon out of spite to throw tantrums and using them to just get what they want.
Thank goodness the government of Remnant from Mistral to Atlas decided to up the age to 13 for a youngster to obtain a Pokémon and they were only limited to three until they grow up to a more mature age of seventeen. Unfortunately Vacuo was a bit more lax in these rules, but three out of the four kingdoms couldn't have these kids causing havoc with an entire team before puberty even started.
"Your so heartless Nicholas! Jaune just wants a friend and chance at his dream you're stunting his growth" His wife argued back, as the woman got into his face and was definitely about to slug him which made him a little nervous.
"H-Honey please you have to see some reason in this. Jaune is a good boy but he just needs more ti-"
"Wait a minute...that sounded like." Jade said with concern in her tone.
"HEEELLLPPP MEEEE!" They all heard a shout out in the main terrain of the fields as they all turned their attention to the one that shouted that out.
It was none other than...
"JAUNE!" All three occupants shouted out as they saw what was happening to their son/ brother in the distance.
The blond young teen was running for his life, as not only was a charging Rhyhorn after him and slowly gaining on him.
But from the looks of Jade, Juniper, and Nicholas. A couple of Beedrill were behind the stone Rhino Pokémon, looking very ticked as they were chasing the blond as well, shooting Poison Sting attacks by the dozen.
"That looks like Mr. Edwin's racing Rhyhorn." Nicholas Arc said with concern tone in his voice, seeing one of his regulars Pokémon.
Nick has seen that big guy run and hit boulders at full speed. Needless to say they were nothing but pebbles after a full charge, and that Rhyhorn was definitely gaining on their son.
"Jade! Take care of the Rhyhorn now. I've got the Beedrill." Juniper said, expanding a Pokéball in her hands and running as fast as she could to save her baby boy.
"On it! Come on Petal!" Jade ordered as she ran towards her little brother.
"Leaf!" Just like her master, she followed right behind, with Nicholas bringing up the rear.
(Music: Help Professor Birch- Pokémon Ruby/ Sapphire)
Jaune couldn't believe this, sure the Rhyhorn was justifiably mad because he interrupted his sleep so he could understand why it was angry.
But that doesn't mean the thing had to try and gore him for interrupting its afternoon nap!
"Look I'm sorry Rhyhorn! Can't we just talk it out and you can go back to your nap!" Jaune yelled out. But negotiating was off the table as the other side wasn't willing to listen as Rhyhorn continued chasing.
Not mention after Rhyhorn missed one of his Headbutt's on him. The attack failed and in turn the large Pokémon ran into a large individual tree, which left the Ground type dazed for a second but definitely still ready to charge.
However Jaune had heard the horrifying sound of buzzing from the tree above, and his heart stopped as he now saw a couple of Beedrill come out of the leaves, and the did not look friendly.
Now that those buggers were angry and saw him near the tree, they immediately blamed him and started to fly towards the teen, chasing him and shooting Poison Sting rounds at him, while the Rhyhorn was still on the pursuit to get him!
"Jeez I just have the worst luck right now!" The blond thought, as he was starting to lose steam. He'd been running for a couple of minutes and he knew the Rhyhorn was gaining on him and the Beedrill were not tired as they continued their chase.
He was pretty close to the house, maybe he could...
"Ah!" He accidentally tripped on a rock, falling on forward and eating grass. "Ugh..." However he had no time to relax as he could hear the sounds of buzzing and feeling the thundering footsteps of the Rhyhorn almost on his position.
Jaune tried to get up, but it looks like he wasn't gonna be fast enough. In which he only just closed his eyes, waiting for the inevitable pain to come.
"Petal use Razor Leaf to stop that Rhyhorn!" Jaune heard the sound of his big sister Jade call out.
"Leaf!" Jaune heard the sounds of air whipping around his ears, as he could see razor sharp leaves coming in hot. Straight into the charging Rhyhorn.
The resulting attack knocked the dual type onto its back from the powerful impact, and its eye bugging out from the effective Grass move. Doing a ton of damage on the Dual typing Pokémon as it wasn't getting up immediately.
"Kara get in there and use Dizzy Punch on those Beedrill!" Then the teen heard the sound of his mother and the additional sound of a Pokéball releasing a Pokémon in front of him.
"Kangas!" The white light materialized the form of a brown and cream colored Kangaskahn blocked his path.
Immediately listening to his mother's commands, the Parent Pokémon began spinning its body rapidly with its fists out and heading towards those pesky Beedrill.
The tornado that was Kara the Kangaskahn began to beat the stuffing out of those Bug type Pokémon, each of them dropping after getting a fist full of pain from the angry looking mama bear Kangaskahn and her powerful Dizzy Punches.
After a couple seconds and a bunch of star striking punches later, all of the Beedrill decided that it wasn't worth the effort of chasing the kid and departed towards the forest trees of the wilderness.
Jaune breathed a sigh of relief, his big sis and mother definitely saved his butt there, that was for sure. "Whew... Thanks Kara, and you too Petal." In which Petal just voiced out.
"Are you ok sweetie?" His mother asked with concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine mom thanks to Kara and Petal." Jaune smiled as he just sat there to catch his breath from running for his life, he turned his head up to the Kangaskahn and smiled. "Thanks for saving me Kara!"
The Kangaskahn's smile started to wobble, her eyes started to get all teary as she stared at the boy.
In which had Jaune getting a little nervous about her, he knew he was in range for Kara's grabby hugs. Hugs that were definitely bone crushing thanks to her strength.
With that known he tried to crawl his way away from the Kangaroo Pokémon.
But it was too late...Kara quickly reached out towards the young man and smothered the tall kid in a tight hug full of love and care, ruffling his hair in affection as she cried her concern.
Perhaps a little too tight of a hug.
"Kara please... I can't... breath..." He was tapping the motherly Pokémon to get her to loosen up her bear hug, until the Kangaskahn heard the sound of a roar once more.
Mr. Edwin's Rhyhorn was a little wobbly, but it still had that look of determination. Though Kara was not too frightened of the old rocky rhino as she gave it a mean looking stare.
Unfortunately in the process she was squishing poor Jaune into her body while growling at the Rhyhorn...
"ACK... KARA...LET... GO!" Finally, Kara heard the young teen's request. But instead of letting him hit the ground she decided to shove the young man in her empty pouch at the moment to protect him.
The Rhyhorn scratched at the ground one more time before it roared out and began to charge at Kara.
"Quick Kara, use Sing!" Juniper ordered.
With that command the Kangaskahn opened her mouth, as she started to sing a soothing tune. The air around her rippling to the surprising soothing voice of Kara, despite the Pokémon's usual gravely voice.
The Rhyhorn was finally in range of the attack, as its red eyes that were full of fury and determination were starting to dull, as the effect of the Sing were starting to show. The Pokémon's body started slowing down all the way to a full stop as its eyes were starting to droop and its body was a bit off focus.
"Hey Kara! What's... the big... idea..." Jaune was right next to the singing Parent Pokémon as the effects of the Sing were starting to effect him as well. As his vision started to blur and his head started to dip until he finally succumbed to the sleep.
The Rhyhorn let out a large yawn its eyes now fully closed and its body tipping over towards the ground.
'THUD'
The ground shook slightly, but the attack was a success as the dual ground type was now back to sleep, snoring like a little baby.
" 'YAAWWWN' Good job Kara, as usual you did great on handling the situation around here." The mother of the Arc family congratulated her partner, while shaking her head to get the soothing melody out of her ears.
"Kangaskahn." The deep voice of the Pokémon said with a smile. The big creature looking back down at Jaune and smiled warmly at the sleeping boy as she gently rubbed his hair to make sure she didn't wake him.
"You did an amazing job too Petal." Jade looked down and was surprised to see the Leafeon curled up into a ball and fell asleep as well, the girl smiled at her silly partner. "You get some rest girl, today was pretty busy." She took out her Pokéball and returned her to give her a break.
Nicholas only huffed in relief as the situation was handled. He definitely needed an explanation from his son about what happened there, but he supposed that could wait until he woke up from his little nap he was taking currently. "Come on you two, let's put Jaune into his room and quickly make some supper. That will certainly wake that boy up when he's done sleeping." The Patriarch said, as both his wife and daughter giggled from that comment. Jaune definitely had an appetite when work was done at the end of the day.
Heck, all of them were usually as hungry as a Snorlax at the end of the afternoon, the parents could only sigh out in practiced exhaustion just thinking about it. Cooking for eight hungry mouths sure was chaotic, especially when each child was particularly picky...
"No way mom... I'm gonna become the best trainer in the Zzzzzzz." The three adults heard the snoring of Jaune Arc as June and Jade only chuckled at the boy, knowing the knucklehead sometimes talked in his sleep.
But his father could only shake his head and facepalm. "Oh son. What am I gonna do with you?" He murmured in sadness, this whole situation that just happened only proving his point in his eyes as they all walked toward the entrance of the ranch house.
The sun was slowly setting on the day as certain Pokémon on the plains were starting to get their rest. The sounds of Murkrow crying out was heard as the birds usually signal the call of night.
Dinner for the Arc family was usually a chaotic affair no matter how you spin it, with ten people at the table at all times it tends to be par for the course.
All of the sisters Eeveelutions all ate in a separate part of the dinning room. Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Slyveon were all eating their dinner with gusto as they were fed a nice mixture of Pokémon food and berries to keep their diets healthy.
Nicholas and Juniper decided to make burgers with huge helping of fries for the family, as they all were at the table recalling most of their work along with anything that happened to them today. Most of the time it was just boring talk because nothing exciting or special happens most of the times when everyone takes care of the Ranch's Pokémon.
Unfortunately for Jaune, who was now fully awake and feeling ashamed from today's mess, the gossip and talk was all about what happened to him today with the rest of his sisters.
After Jade recalled the whole Rhyhorn situation to rest of the siblings, each one had different reactions.
Amethyst and Peridot Arc, the 3rd and 5th oldest sisters started cracking up with laughter at the whole ordeal. Which only caused Cyan Arc the 6th oldest to sigh out in exasperation from her sisters behavior.
As the self proclaimed scientist and 'genius' of the family, it was hardly funny that their own flesh and blood was chased down by a 253 pound Rhyhorn and almost turned into a pincushion by a bunch of Beedrill. She shook her head as she pushed some of her messy locks of blonde hair from her face. She needed to redo her bun from the back to keep her messy locks from getting into her face when it comes to her technology research.
Vermillion Arc, the 4th oldest sister at least had some manners as she only allowed a cute little giggle from the encounter.
"Amy, Peri that is not funny!" Saphron, the 2nd oldest sister scolded calling the two by their nicknames.
"You're right Saph... it was hilarious!" Peridot started a new round of laughter along with Amethyst, Peri's blond hair down to her neck and bit more wild compared to her other sisters.
"Jaune could have been seriously injured here!". Saphron had sort of darker gold blond hair with ocean blue eyes filled with concern for her baby brother. She was the sort of mother hen that always looked out for her all of siblings.
"Well our little bro should be a little more careful and watch for any unsuspecting rocks looking like Pokémon, isn't that right Noel?" Amy piped up, trying to get Vermillion Arc in on Jaune's ribbing.
Now that the 4th oldest sister was center stage, she was little bit more nervous to heckle their baby brother. "Umm... well..." The long yellowish blond haired member didn't want to say anything, her teal colored eyes looked toward her brother she couldn't but feel bad for him.
His head was face down on the table with a slouched back in his chair, he didn't make any attempt at eating his food in the slightest. If he felt any worse today than Noel could imagine a Water Type Pokémon using a personal Rain Dance on his head to soak his hair.
"Now now girls, there is no need to shame your brother. Accidents do happen." Mama Arc had a cheeky grin on her face now. " I remember awhile back Amy, that you and our little Peri here had a similar incident with that flock Dodrio and thinking how your hair was some kind of new berries." Which definitely got some snickering from everyone else at the table. Jaune with his face down on the table couldn't help the small chuckle and regained smile on his face from that day.
Peri and Amy definitely got messed up as their hair was a mess and they had little tear spots in their close from those birds.
That got an embarrassing blush from Amy as she mumbled "I thought they forgot about that..." she murmured softly before regaining her composure, shaking her ponytailed hair.
But Peridot only flexed her muscles and stood tall. "Yeah those bird brains got the best of us at first, but my girl Bolt and Iris surely showed those birds who's bos, ain't that right?" The girl turned towards her partner as the Jolteon only barked in acknowledgement and continued to just chow down.
Meanwhile the Espeon only rolled its eyes from the energetic trainer and her boorish 'sister' Eeveelution as she continued to eat her dinner like a respectful Pokémon.
"I'd expect nothing less than victory from your Jolteon Peridot considering it has type advantage against all of those Dodrio, and I would be highly disappointed if the so called 'best sister battler' of the family would have lost with her powerful Espeon." Cyan putting in some snark. "If it were me and my Crystal, there have been any scuffs on myself." adjusting her glasses once more, referencing her Glaceon.
"Hey! Are you making fun of me Cy? cause we can take this out back if you wanna tussle!" Peridot slamming her hands on the table.
"Please Cynerd, Crystal wouldn't last two minutes against Iris." Amethyst brushed her hair with her hands, confidence brimming in her body. "In fact, it would only be a warm up for her contest appeal."
"Tch you spend so much talk on those useless contests Amy. Yet your battling skills need work if you ever want be the best."
"Excuse me? But I'm not a ruthless battle junkie like you are..." As Peridot, Amethyst, and Cyan continue to bicker, Jade and Saphron as the oldest only sigh at their usual childish behavior. Normally its these three that argue and sometimes its all of the younger siblings that squabble at each other. But Saphron and Jade made a pack long ago that as the oldest, they would be the mediators if pushed too far.
Cause if it was a full Arc argument or what they their parents dubbed 'Arcguement'. Then there was gonna be hell pay from mom and dad.
Nicholas only sighed as he continued eating. "Arceus help me if June wants another." wanting his two oldest to take care of these three problem children. He loved all of his children, but they definitely made feel older when it came to raising them. Why just the other day he thought he saw another gray hair in his beard.
"At least you had Pokémon you could use." Jaune mumbled out into the table, before being poked in the shoulder, he turned towards one of his sisters that wasn't in heated debate.
"Were you hurt at all little brother?" Jaune turned the youngest sister, but still older than him Indigo Arc. Her dark ocean blue eyes and blond Mistralian braided hair was on full display for the blond of the family.
"Nah, I'm ok Indi. Thanks for checking on me." That got the young girl to smile, along with Vermillion Arc. These two always liked to check on their baby brother to if he was ok. In a way, all of the Arc sisters care for their baby brother in their own way.
"Though." Jaune said.
"What is it Jaune?" Noel asked.
"I do wish that I had a Pokémon of my own." He semi shouted across the table, breaking through the starting argument from the three other siblings. They looked at their baby brother with smiles all around as they remembered that Jaune was now thirteen and could get his very own mon now.
They all looked at their father expectantly, waiting for the answer as he was chewing on a fry. Nicholas was frowning from that loaded question.
"Jaune." The man said with hesitation.
"Yeah dad?" His face had a smile, Nicholas could tell that the tension was killing the boy.
His wife was looking at him, nudging him on to say what he needed to say.
"I'm... I'm sorry son, but this is for your own good." He hardened his resolve and looked at his boy with serious look.
A look that slowly morphed the young teen's face from happy to worried...
(Later...)
Night covered the ranch as the broken moon was out in full, shrouding the land with moonlight.
The lights were out in most of the rooms of each of the Arc children, they wanted to get an early start for tomorrow as they knew that the ranch was always busy.
However the only son of the Arc family was laying down on his bed with his fully open. His once bright vibrant eyes full of life and energy, felt dulled after being told by his father some bad news.
Which led to a heated discussion with father about owning a Pokémon. Jaune was trying to make his case about every single criticism his father had about him and his weaknesses of being a trainer was. Unfortunately, Nicholas Arc was a hard man to convince when it came to just words.
Words that were only just thrown back into his face.
After verbal lashing during dinner he just couldn't go to sleep. His form was curled up into a ball and facing away from his door. His face looked a mess, with some tears coming down his face and his form shuddering from the info he was just told from his father...
He... he just couldn't believe it.
Why? Why was he being this way with him? He'd been a good son, his only son had been studying up on Pokémon battles, strategies, and Pokémon in general to learn about them.
He had shown him that he could take care of Pokémon, with his continuous work at the ranch by taking care of different kinds. Dangerous, big, odd, it didn't matter to the boy he took care of them, fed them what they needed, and played with them to be friends.
Jaune had done it all, this should have been a no brainer and he should have been trusted to be given a trusted Pokémon partner, his father should should have enough trust in him to be a trainer right?
He did believe in him right?
The door opened to his room as his dark room was now full of light. He turned his head to see his mother come towards the teen, sitting on the bed and rubbing his shoulder in comfort.
"Jaune." His mother started.
"Its fine Mom... I'm just not ready in dad's eyes." The blond teen sniffled. "I don't know what I need to prove whether its bravery or commitment or whatever he wants from me. It seems like I won't be able to please him in anyway once I become a trainer." Jaune finished.
"You know its not like that Jaune." Juniper said softly.
"Then what is it mom?" His voice raising and looking at his mother. "How can I prove to be worthy of a Pokémon in his eyes?" He softened his tone to his mom, he knew it wasn't her call.
"I know your father is being tough on you honey... As much as he is being harsh, he does mean well." His mother reassured. "Give your father some time. He'll come around sooner or later and then we will get you a partner." It broke her heart to say this to her son, she really wants to cheer him up. But it seems like he just needs some time to himself. "Goodnight honey, I love you." She kissed his forehead.
"Love you too mom." As soon as she said that the lights to Jaune's room were turned off, leaving the only light filtering the room was the glow of the moon. His thoughts swirling, as pride was on the forefront of his mind.
After thirty minutes past he checked the digital clock on his nightstand and it read it was 10:30 PM. The thirteen year old got up and out of his regular pajamas, changing into a Hoodie with a silly looking Bunnelby head at the front, with a blue jeans and his sneakers on his feet. Along with a holdable Pokeball belt that he got from his fashionable sister Amy.
He went over towards the nightstand in his room. Jaune opened the first cabinet to take a out a odd looking Pokéball that was white in color and had a red outlining.
He didn't really tell anybody this in the family, well except maybe his mom. But she kind of wrote it off, but this Bunnelby hoodie was actually a prize won from eating a ton of cereal from a sweepstakes competition. Whoever sent in the most box tops from eating the most Bunnelby Blamos cereal won this hoodie, and another little gift that was special.
That special gift was actually a Premier Ball, and it was a Pokéball that Jaune won last year that nobody knew about. The teen said he would of used this first ball that he won to catch his first Pokémon.
"I... I think tonight is good time as any to finally catch a Pokémon." Sure it would super difficult, hell damn near impossible to do it.
But this Arc wasn't going to be denied, and he would prove it to his father that he was worthy, by taking care of the Pokémon he caught.
With that said, the boy silently made his way through ranch house, until he reached the front door. He quickly checked all around him. To make sure he didn't alert any of his sisters or their Eeveelutions.
Realizing the he was in the clear, the teen slowly opened the front door as quietly as he could and closed it without making a sound.
The path in the front of the ranch was clear and had a few grass patches for Pokémon down the road.
But he didn't want to chose that area to pick a Pokémon.
No. Where Jaune was going, he needed to keep going East for a bit and across the bridge that was built.
Because the destination he wanted choose was a cave area he had been to before and countless trainers had to pass before moving on their way.
Quartz Tunnel.
With his mind made up and his determination set, the only blond boy of the Arc family sets his sights on that cave to catch his very own Pokémon.
His feet took him towards the small forest, to where his short destination lied.
And that's a rap!
Now, how did I do for this first chapter? Did it suck? Was it cringe? You let me know.
Honestly I thought this idea was cool, it gives off a fun Pokémon journey vibe that I always wanted to follow for the RWBY cast. Like I said it could be a little childish and cartoony.
But hey, RWBY is kind of like that. I know its more dark, but a bit of lighthearted Pokémon didn't hurt anyone you know.
Except... maybe some people. You know maybe it does fit I don't kno-
Anyways! Yeah don't worry about little Jaune being 13 forever, there will be a time skip of our small teenage boy soon enough, perhaps this chapter or the next that will have him at the age of 17, the time he went to Beacon in V1.
However the
Also if you think I'm overblowing the whole Pokémon carrying age to 13, then I don't know what to tell you.
I just think that in my opinion ten year old's shouldn't be carrying fire breathing lizards or monsters that could cause serious destruction, which is why I put those limiters in the story.
Sure maybe 13 year old's wouldn't be much better, buuuuuut at least the kids are starting to grow and mature.
Call me stickler or a total downer, I just think that literal kids should have Pokémon as pets like that.
But that's just me.
Anyways so yeah our blond has been denied his first Pokémon after he turned 13 by his dad. However as we see here at the end, that will not stop him from finding his first Pokémon partner.
A partner that he will try to find in a tough area that trainers go through at their first time of travel when on the path of the Remnant league.
So with this first chapter as a Kickstarter what do you think? Is this something you want more of? Because I am definitely having fun making this.
However... I know what your thinking or not I don't know.
What Pokémon are going be on each person's team and who's going to be with each character if they have a pairing.
Well... I have already decided on that for our boy, so I am sorry if anyone feels they way they do, and I also have some team ideas for other characters. So this is a little bit more thought out for the story.
But if you want to get any good suggestions, I might just squeeze those team members on their team.
Is there room for more ladies?
Um... I don't know, I might have it just be one couple or a three person if I feel like it. I think harems are funny and saucy, but writing them is a ton of work. So I might just go with one or two, three might be the max.
Either way, that was the first chapter Pokémon League: Remnant Region... Might rework that title but we will see. My other two stories of Arcful Romance and Book of Mudora will be also in rotation with this one, I just wanted to get this idea off my chest because I love Pokémon and I thought the RWBY cast would be a fun cast to put into this.
So... I did.
Anyways...Comment, favorite, or review if you liked the start of this story. If you have anymore question just DM me or review and I will try to get back to you as soon as I am available and I will continue this story.
This is Irongiant9000 signing off, Have a good day everyone!
