Chapter 1: Unforgettable Event
A/N: Cheers to a new story that I had created, hope you all enjoy it!
Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN POKEMON!
Enjoy the story, everyone!
In the stadium within Alola's largest mountain, Mount Lanakila, a large explosion occurred as a Lucario flew into the air as he hit the ground hard with a Incineroar roaring loudly at his victory over the Aura Pokémon, with the referee, Professor Kukui raising his hand at Incineroar's Trainer direction.
"Lucario is unable to battle, Incineroar wins! Therefore, the winner of the battle is Ash Ketchum!" He declared.
The screen immediately eliminated Lucario's picture alongside his Trainer's as the screen fully displays Ash's picture with his team with comprises of his Incineroar, Rowlet, Lurantis, Mudsdale, Lycanroc and his Pikachu, as he went to hug the Heel Pokémon.
"We did it Incineroar, great job!" Ash cheered, as Incineroar gave a loud cry of happiness.
"We've tried our best, but it seems like we came short, good work, Lucario." Lucario's Trainer mutter, as he recalled the Aura Pokémon.
"That was a great battle, Ash. You're truly deserving to be the first Champion of Alola." He congratulated while extending his hand.
"You too, Gladion, that battle was great." Ash responded, with a large smile on his face.
The crowd cheered loudly at the display of sportsmanship as the two boys were soon joined by Professor Kukui who stood between them, as he patted both of them on the back, nearly making them crash head first to the ground, due to his unrestrained strike from being too excited.
"That was a heated battle, you two! I'm sure everyone will remember this battle for a life time, both now and the future." Kukui commented, making both Ash and Gladion chuckle.
"Everyone, let us move on to the award ceremony and celebrate for our very first Champion!" Kukui announced.
Everyone cheered as Kukui brought Ash and Gladion to the open field of Mount Lanakila where they were sheltered by an extremely large glass dome made to protect everyone from the raging snow that was occurring outside of the stadium ground, as Ash's classmates and friend rushed up to him after both Gladion and himself had came into view.
"Ash, congratulations!" They yelled, as Ash smiled brightly.
"Thanks, and it's thanks to all of you for not giving up on me till this point." Ash said with sincerity in his voice, as Brock smacked his back lightly.
"It's suppose to be the other way around, I wouldn't have achieved my dreams and goal if I hadn't travelled with you, and I'm sure most of them would have been stuck if not for you too." The former Pewter City Gym Leader responded.
Ash turned his head as May, Dawn, Tracey, Max, Lillie and Sophocles nodded, whereas Iris, Cilan, Kiawe, Lana and Mallow smiled brightly, making Ash smile at the sight of his friends joy, as he turned his head to see his team of six Pokémon.
"And last of all, I wouldn't have gotten this far if not for my Pokémon, after all, they're the ones who put in their all for my sake." Ash announced, while scratching Pikachu's chin.
While doing so, the Mouse Pokémon cooed at the treatment he was receiving as Kukui walked up to the stage with an extremely large golden trophy in his hand with a rainbow ribbon tied at the center with a Poke Ball-shaped center, before taking the microphone in his hand.
"May we welcome Alola's very first Champion to come and receive his trophy!" He yelled.
Everyone started to cheer as Ash walked up in stage to receive his trophy, as Kukui handed the grand prize of the Alola League to him, before facing the front with Ash as the two of them raised the trophy high up in the air, making everyone cheer even louder at the sight of their new born Champion, while Rotom decided to take a memorial photo of Ash's big win in the Alola League.
"Smile for the camera, Ash!" Rotom requested.
Ash and Pikachu gave a big grin, before being joined by his Alola team, as all seven of them smiled at Rotom who snapped a memorial photo of their victory, before flying off as Ash got off the stage to enjoy the rest of the celebration with his friends.
"What's your plan now, Ash? Since you've won the Alola League?" Misty asked, making Ash think for a moment.
"I'll probably stay in Pallet Town for a few months, after all, I've never really stayed home much when there was a new region for me to venture. After that, I might just revisit the other six regions and probably challenge them again." Ash answered, as Misty laughed light with the rest of his friends.
"That sounds so much like you, Ash. When you come and challenge me again, I hope you're ready for a whole new Misty." The Cerulean City Gym Leader responded.
As the group of people set down on a table together in their large number, Guzma walked up to Ash with his Golisopod by his side, as he smirk with a chuckle at the new Champion of Alola.
"Congrats to ya, kid. That was a rocking battle ya had with Gladion just now." He told the boy in front of him as Ash smiled.
"Thanks, and the battle with you was great too, your Golisopod really takes the take off my team." Ash responded.
Guzma chuckled loudly at the words from Ash, before walking off to meet with Kukui and Kahili who were chatting at the side, as Ash turn his attention to Max.
"Max, how's your studies in becoming a Gym Leader? Because when I revisit Hoenn, I can't wait to challenge you as Petalburg City's new Gym Leader." Ash exclaimed with excitement, as Max got up from his seat.
"It's going well, and you bet when you come and challenge Petalburg City again, I'll be the one to challenge you!" Max responded, as everyone laughed.
"I look forward to it, Max, truly." He smiled.
After conversing with Max, Ash took a bite off the cake that was on his plate before looking at Iris, who he had last heard was going to become Drayden's successor in the Opelucid City, as he gave her his full attention.
"Say Iris, from what I last heard, Drayden has picked you to be his successor over the Opelucid City Gym, right?" He asked, only for Iris to chuckle smugly.
"Mr. Drayden has already handed his position as Gym Leader over to me. So I do hope that when you revisit Unova, you'll be coming to challenge the Opelucid City's new Gym Leader!" Iris responded.
"Of course, count on it." Ash reassured.
While the ceremony was getting shorter and shorter, Ash turned his attention to Serena, before setting down his plate.
"Serena, I heard that you've won the Grand Festival in Hoenn last year, congratulations." He congratulated, as Serena blushed slightly.
"Thank you, Ash, that means a lot to me." She said with a smile, as Ash chuckled.
"Thank you everyone for attending the celebration, may everyone here have a rest when they get back home!" Kukui's voice yelled.
The bells of the area rang loudly signifying the end of the celebration as Ash and his friends packed their things before walking out of the door, as the families of his non-Alola friends came to bring them back home, leaving into Ash and his Alolan friends behind, before being followed by Kukui and his own group which consists of Burnet, Guzma and Kahili.
"Congratulations, Ash, the last battle you've shown, was truly mesmerising." Kahili told the young Trainer.
"Thanks! The credits still goes to my Pokémon, though, after all, their the ones who pulled it through for me." Ash told her, making Kahili laugh a little.
"You're just as Kukui and Guzma described you to be, a person who's kind and thanks others before yourself." She commented.
Ash chuckled with a big smile, before realising something as he turn his head to Kukui before taking out five Poke Balls from his pocket, as he walked towards the Professor of the Alola Region, before extending out his hand to him.
"Professor Kukui, would you please look after my Pokémon for me?" He asked, making Kukui smile at him.
"Of course, but do visit us when you have the time, I'm sure Rowlet and the rest will be extremely delighted." He responded, with Ash smiling with a nod.
"I definitely will." Ash exclaimed.
Kukui smiled as he took the five Poke Ball off Ash's hand before keeping it in his cloak, as Kahili looked at the watch on her hand before turning to her group.
"It's time for us to go, Kukui." She told him, making Kukui nod his head.
"Alright, then we'll meet again, Ash." Kukui waved.
"Take care of yourself now, Ash, everyone!" Burnet added.
Ash and his friends waved at the two professors as they ran to catch up with Kahili and Guzma who were waiting at the bottom of the slope before leaving the view of the kids as they walked down the hill, as Ash turned around to face his Alolan friends.
"The journey in Alola was a lot of fun, thank you guys for taking care of me till this point." Ash told them, as Kiawe shook his head.
"We should be the one thanking you, Ash. If not for you, most of us wouldn't even have reaches where we are today." He responded, with Mallow nodding her head.
"All the achievements we've achieved was with your help, and we've also done many things together." She added.
"If you hadn't been in Alola, Ash, most of us wouldn't even have a dream to follow till this point, and it was thanks to you, we all have a dream of our own." Lillie told the Kanto native.
"Best of luck to you in your next journey, Ash! Visit us when you have the time, and when you come back, we'll be coming after you for the title of Champion!" Sophocles yelled in excitement.
"We'll be waiting to hear your stories when you come back to visit us, Ash." Lana finished.
Ash smiled brightly at their words as he turned around to face the slope of the hill, as he walked towards the slope before turning around to face his friends as he waved at them.
"Goodbye, everyone, take care!" He yelled.
"You too, Ash! Take care!" They yelled in unison.
The Kanto native and First Champion of Alola immediately ran down the slope to reach the bottom of Mount Lanakila, but a she reached the end of the slope, he stopped to take a breather, until two voices who were standing on each side of the rocks came.
"You sure took your time, Ash." Misty's voice came, catching his attention.
"We thought you took another route, while the two of us were waiting here for you." Brock's voice added.
Ash turned around to see his two oldest friends waiting for him at the bottom of the slope as they joined his side, with Ash staring at them with confusion, because he was sure that they were the first to leave with their families.
"Misty? Brock? I thought the two of you had already left." Ash blurb out, making Misty chuckle.
"We decided to stay behind and wait for you, after all, we are going to the same region." Misty told him.
"Besides, this makes it feels like the old time when we travelled through Kanto and Johto together, and I'm sure Pikachu feels that way as well." Brock added, making Ash smile.
"Alright, then let's all go back to Kanto, together!" Ash exclaimed.
Ash, Misty and Brock then walked down Mount Lanakila together in order to catch the ferry from Ula'ula Island back to Melemele Island, as Brock turned his attention to Ash.
"Say, other then challenging the leagues again, what other goals do you have?" He asked, making Ash think of an answer.
"Well, I've yet to achieve my dreams as a Pokémon Master, so I'm going to train lots and lots to become even stronger, possibly the strongest in the world, with my Pokémon by my side!" Ash exclaimed with enthusiasm.
Misty and Brock laughed at Ash's enthusiasm, before continuing their way down the mountain and onto dry land as the three of them walked all the way back to Malie City where they would be able to catch their ferry back to Melemele Island, as they entered Route 13 which leads to the road back.
"I'm sure Mrs. Ketchum would be delighted to hear about the news of you becoming Champion, and I can already imagine Tracy's face." Misty said with a laughter.
"I'm sure Gary's mouth would also hang open when he hears the news, and I'm sure Professor Oak will also be excited to hear it." Brock told her, as Ash started to laugh.
"I can't wait to get back home and tell them the news of my journey in Alola, and about the Pokémon I've caught." Ash added, with Brock and Misty chuckling.
While they continue their road back home, Ash and his two current compaions entered the road of Route 12, before carefully making their way across the rocky terrain in order to make sure none of them gets injured in the process, that was until a pair of mechanical arms started to float behind Ash's head without him or his friends noticing, as they were too concentrated on being careful.
When the arms were close enough to grab Pikachu off Ash's shoulder, the pair of mechanical arms swiftly took Pikachu off Ash's shoulder alerting the boy as he looked up to see that Pikachu had been suspended in the air by the pair of mechanical arm which was connected to a balloon which was floating in the air, and the balloon looked all too familiar to them.
"Team Rocket, give me back my Pikachu!" Ash demanded in anger and irritation, as the Team Rocket Trio emerged.
"If you have the talent to ask for Pikachu back, then at least have the decency to come up and get Pikachu back!" Jessie mocked, as their balloon started to fly away.
"Ciao!" The three of them yelled in sync.
As Ash and his friends got out of the rocky terrain, they immediately raced after Team Rocket's balloon in an attempt to get Pikachu back from them, as their speed isn't going to help then reach the balloon until Brock and Misty took out their own Poke Ball.
"Swanna, help Ash get Pikachu back!" Misty called out.
"Kabutops, you too!" Brock yelled.
Their Poke Balls immediately burst open in the sky, as Misty's Swanna appeared in the air with Kabutops appearing beneath her, as she grabbed hold of the Shellfish Pokémon with her feet, with Ash hopping onto her back, as the White Bird Pokémon flew towards Team Rocket's balloon, whist Misty and Brock continued to give chase.
"Pikachu we got it, Pikachu we have it!" Meowth yelled in a cheerful tone.
"We're finally able to get that twerps Pikachu, after all this time!" James cheered, as Jessie nodded.
"Just imagine the boss' face when we bring Pikachu back to him!" Jessie said dreamingly.
"We're gonna hit a big promotion!" They yelled in sync.
As their balloon continued to fly through the air and eventually above the open sea of Alola, Swanna who was carrying both Ash and Kabutops managed to reach their location, until Ash was close enough to roar at them from where he was.
"Team Rocket! Give me back my Pikachu!" Ash roared angrily, making them jump.
"A flying twerp!" They exclaimed in shock.
Ash and Kabutops immediately hopped into their balloon, forcing it to sway to one side due to their actions, as the trio was force to hold onto the poles of the balloon in order to stabilize themselves, as Ash started to scan the place until he found Pikachu locked inside of a cube-like cage with a glass panel at the front and top.
"Pikachu, hold on! I'm going to get you out of there in no time!" Ash yelled to his best friend.
"Pikapi!" Pikachu responded.
Ash then turned his attention back at the trio in front of him, as he glared at Jessie, James and Meowth for the trick they had just pulled, before putting out his hand to issue a command to Kabutops to follow.
"Use Slash!" He commanded.
Kabutops' sickle-like hand soon took up a white glow as he rushed at the trio, only for Jessie to use her Wobbuffet as a shield, before pushing him to the front in fear of Kabutops' attack.
"Quick, Wobbuffet, use Counter!" She shrieked.
The Patient Pokémon quickly surrounded his own body in an orange aura as Kabutops brought down his attack, only to send Wobbuffet flying when his sickle changed from the colour of white to green, having used another attack in anticipation to Wobbuffet's defensive nature.
"That wasn't Slash, was that Absorb?" Ash mumbled, as he looked at the cube that was placed on the stand.
Taking the chance created amidst the chaos, Ash took the cube into his hand as he started to try and pry it open with his bare hands, as none of them had noticed just how high they were from the sea below them, as Swanna was too busy concentrating on the movements of Ash and Kabutops in case any of them wants to jump overboard.
"Hold on a little longer, Pikachu, I'm getting you out of there!" Ash groaned, as he was still trying to pry the cube open.
"Tops!" Kabutops yelled.
Ash turned his head to the Shellfish Pokémon, as he threw the cube at the Rock and Water Type, only for Kabutops to swiftly slash it apart with his sickle glowing white, freeing the Mouse Pokémon from his temporary prison, as he jumped into Ash's hand, with the Team Rocket Trio shrieking in fear and shock.
"His free!" they shrieked.
"Pikachu, I'm so glad you're fine!" Ash cheered.
However, Ash's celebration was cut short when a huge bolt of thunder struck next to the balloon, barely missing to hit them, making the balloon sway from side to side endlessly, as a huge wind blew pass them in all directions, indicating a thunderstorm coming their way, as they had no idea just how high they were from the ground below during their skirmish.
"Meowth, do something!" Jessie yelled in desperation.
"I can't! The wind's too strong to lower the balloon!" The Scratch Cat Pokémon yelled back.
As another bolt of thunder strike next to the balloon, Ash and James were nearly thrown overboard by the force of the attack from the thunder, as they manage to hold their own by grabbing the corner pole of the balloon to prevent themselves from falling down into the depths below them.
"Kabutops! Grab Pikachu and go on ahead!" Ash demanded.
Pikachu was visibly shock at Ash's command as the Shellfish Pokémon nodded, before scooping Pikachu up with his sickle-like hand as he jumped off the balloon, leaving Ash behind with the trio as Swanna swiftly caught Kabutops by the shoulder, barely missing them due to the wind and thunder happening all around her.
"Pikapi!" Pikachu signalled for Ash to jump, as he quickly climb tot he edge of the balloon.
Though, before the Kanto native could leap out, a huge bolt of thunder struck down in front of his figure, barely missing to hit him dead center in the body, as he fell backwards while landing in his back hard onto the balloon's basket, as he got up to try again, while the trio could only hug the corner of the balloon in fear.
As he tried once again by getting on the edge of the balloon's basket, another huge bolt of lightning struck down, this time hitting the basket of the balloon making Ash lose his footing, as he slipped off the balloon, but as he fell, James who was the closest tried grab him to no avail as Ash fell off the balloon while widening his eyes at what had just happened.
"Pikapi!" Pikachu yelled, as Swanna nodded.
While the White Bird Pokémon attempted to go down and rescue the Trainer of Kanto, the thunder which were now crashing down more and more often was making it harder for her to go and rescue Ash as the force of the wind was also making her go off-course, while Ash could do nothing but try to reach out for his best friend, knowing it was impossible as he smiled softly.
"In the end, I'm not able to hold onto my promise to Misty, Max, Iris and everyone." He thought to himself, as he closed his eyes knowing that rescuing him was now impossible.
Ash soon felt the world going slowly around himself as he continued to fall into the unknown depths below, as he opened his eyes to see the eyes of his best friend one last time before opening his mouth to speak in a quiet manner.
"Goodbye, Pikachu." He mumbled, while letting a single tear fly out.
Sound of Ash hitting the bottom of whatever was beneath them was heard as Pikachu widen his eyes at the sound of the impact, before extending out his hand in an attempt to rescue him, knowing that it was already too late to rescue his best friend and irreplaceable partner who had been there for him for 6 whole years.
"PIKAPI!" He screamed with his might, before breaking down in tears.
As Swanna make a quick retreat back to land to meet up with Brock and Misty as tears flowed down her eyes, thinking about her own incapability of rescuing even a single person, as Brock and Misty ended up hitting a dead end as they reached the edge of the ferry, while waiting for their Pokémon to return with Ash from their mission.
While they waited for a few minutes, Swanna was finally in sight with Ash nowhere in sight as the White Bird Pokémon quickly landed on the ground, and without any words, Kabutops quickly jumped into the sea as he rushed off at high speed in an attempt to find Ash, hoping that he was still in the ocean.
"Swanna, where's Ash?!" Misty yelled, as she noticed Pikachu's expression.
Brock and Misty were shocked to say the least when they saw Pikachu's crying expression, as he continued to draw an endless amount of tears at the presume death of his best friend, and realising why Kabutops had leaped into the ocean despite the rough waves, Misty quickly took a Poke Ball out of her pocket before throwing it into the ocean.
After throwing her Poke Ball into the ocean, Misty's Gyarados emerged from his containment device, as Misty hopped onto his back, before looking at the Atrocious Pokémon.
"Gyarados, quickly, dive into the ocean to see if you can find Ash!" Misty ordered.
The Water and Flying Type quickly dove into the water with his Trainer on his back, as the two Water Type Pokémon was looking desperately for the missing person in the ocean, whist Brock could do nothing but stay on land, as he chose to comfort Pikachu after the presumed death of his best friend.
"Don't worry, Pikachu, I'm sure Ash will be find, he has a long life ahead of him." Brock comforted, as Pikachu was still sobbing.
After waiting for a few minutes possibly close to an hour for the storm to die down, Misty who was on her Gyarados emerged with Kabutops, as Brock kneeled down to look at the Cerulean City Gym Leader, hoping that either one of them would have found Ash.
"Where's Ash?!" He asked, as Misty shook her head.
"W-we couldn't find him, sorry, Pikachu." Misty responded.
The news Misty had just delivered devastated Pikachu further, as the Mouse Pokémon once again started to cry, while screaming loudly at the lost of his best friend as Brock and Misty could do nothing else to try and comfort the Electric Type mouse, before looking at each other, having absolutely no idea of what to do next.
"How are we going to tell this to the rest, especially Mrs. Ketchum?" Brock asked, as Misty shook her head, already having no idea of what to do at this point.
Brock and Misty looked at the open sea as they could do nothing but hope that Ash was alive and fine wherever he was, as the former Pewter City Gym Leader picked Pikachu up from the ground before recalling Kabutops back into his Poke Ball, the same with Misty with Gyarados and Swanna, as they left for the ferry in sadness.
Meanwhile in Pallet Town, Gary was in the house preparing the table for Ash's eventual return as they had just received the news from Professor Oak through Kukui about Ash's return back to Kanto from Alola, as the young Professor was done setting up the table before turning his head to the kitchen.
"I wonder how Ash will react when he comes back." Gary voiced out, as Delia walked out of the kitchen with dishes in her hands.
"I'm sure he had many stories to tell us when he comes back, but I wonder how he will react when he sees the place like this." She said cheerfully.
While the two of them continued to prepare the house for Ash's eventually return from Alola, not knowing about the incident that took place at Ula'ula Island, and was also unaware of the news that was going to reach them eventually in a few hours from the current when Brock and Misty returns from Alola.
Another new story, another new plot and adventure to follow! Please tell me how toy found the start of this new story, and R&R if you like, but please do not put anything unnecessary that will demoralise the community in the review section.
A/N: I decided to try something new for a change that does not discern Ash from betrayed or whatsoever, as I am pretty sure that countless of you had already seen too much of those kinds of story, so I decided to come up with a fresher idea or maybe to me for a change of pace.
Otherwise,
PEACE!
