Makoto couldn't help shivering as she was faced with Kaneshiro, the man drawing so many Shujin academy students into crime.
That the principal had tasked her with dealing with.
And who she had gone to the Phantom Thieves (calling themselves 'Troublemakers') to help her with, rather than turning the group in like she was supposed to.
Things hadn't exactly gone to plan.
What little plan there was.
This had been such a bad idea, how had a bunch of high school students ended up face to face with a mafia boss.
"I'll let this go if you pay me three million yen by the end of the month," Kaneshiro finally declared. "And if you can't get the money, well, you'll be earning it one way or the other."
"Three million? That's all?"
Makoto slowly turned to face Amamiya, the supposed delinquent the principal had something against.
He had pulled a briefcase from… somewhere… and was opening it to reveal stacks of cash.
"Wha- but you weren't supposed to- how does a brat like you have that much money!?"
()
In the end Kaneshiro had invented some other offence to create a debt of three hundred million yen, before having them sent back to Shibuya.
Makoto couldn't help but turn to Amamiya the moment the gang members were out of sight.
"How did you get that much money?"
He shrugged.
"Selling things, inheritance from supernatural tine loop, part-time jobs…"
Makoto (and likely the others) gaped at him.
"Wha..?"
"I work a lot of part-time jobs," he told them seriously.
