Naruto and Claymore belong to their respective owners.

I am writing this story as I feel that Claymore x Naruto fanfics seem to be mostly lemons, and I wanted to get my idea of Naruto as a Claymore out there.

Disclaimer: This is my first fanfiction ever, so yes, I know this might not be great, but I'll be learning along the way. I decided to write a background to see if anybody would be interested if I wrote a full story. I know other stories have tried Naruto as a Claymore, but this is my attempt. Also, this is a rough draft, so don't roast me too hard y'all.

If you have any advice or ideas for future use, please put them down in the reviews, as well as any future pairings or powers/abilities. I'm open to criticism as well.

In this story, I do plan on fully making Naruto a claymore, so I would rather him not use chakra or have Kurama. Also, lemons will probably be rare or none at all, as I have no experience writing them, though if this fanfic continues, I'll go with the flow and figure something out.

Backstory of Naruto (Not a actual chapter)

We start out along a path on the southern part of the island known as Mucha, following a man in particular. The man was a silver-eyed, blond-haired Claymore, number 48. This claymore stood at 6'1, weighing somewhere around 238 lbs. This man was built sturdy and rigid. On his face are whisker-like tattoos that are, in actuality, birthmarks of the sort, and he has a full and long silver blond beard. Number 48's name is Naruto, but how exactly he became one of the first male claymores once again after generations of female claymores is generally unknown; however, Naruto remembers a few of the events. Claymores were generally made from females as they resisted the urge to awakened more than the males of the first few generations of claymores.

However the organization had decided to take a gamble on him after seeing him fight off his yoma attackers as a child and seeing the potential he had. Naruto's parents, Minato and Kushina, had been eaten by a pack of yoma right in front of him, and while seeing this, something snapped, and everything went black. When Naruto himself awoke, there were a combined ten dead yoma around him and his parents. However, unknown to Naruto at the time, a man in the organization wearing black was watching him and saw much to be gained from his conversion into a claymore. This handler, in particular, was named Hanz and was a friend of his father's who dealt in Rabona's black market, where they happened to meet at the time. Hanz, while watching these events unfold, saw something others in the organization could not: a means to handle Abyssal Ones. Hanz had seen the greatness the boy could grow up to fulfill, and Hanz had to pull some strings with the elders to once again introduce a male claymore into the new generation. Once Hanz had convinced his elders to accept Naruto into the Claymore program, he knew this boy in particular, would rise through the ranks rapidly.

However, Naruto, as a claymore, was unique in that he lacked almost any ability that hadn't been seen before with the implementation of Yoma flesh into the body. Claymore 48 had a nickname, though it was something unique in the way that Claymores didn't usually have these types of names. Naruto The Kind. Naruto's nickname was something not really seen in the organization, Naruto the Kind? What kind of claymore would be given the nickname the kind? Well, Naruto gained this name during his implementation into the Claymore program. He would comfort and care for his fellow Claymores as the years progressed, and they would become enamored with him. His fellow claymores would give him the nickname of the kind, earning their favor the next time they met in the following years. Naruto, in his training, was always upbeat and happy, supporting those around him, and even after going into the field, he kept the same attitude. However, this name had no indication of the type of power Claymore 48 wielded.

Being ranked 48 in the organization meant little, as for him and the council, it was just a number and not a true indication of his skill and power. In his training, his results far exceeded past precedents set by other claymores, which surprised the council. His training was rigorous to ensure later on, he would not awaken by any circumstance. He was trained highly in yoki control and wielding the famed claymore used by all other Claymores. The council said he was one of the strongest sword-wielders of his time. By the time his training was up, he far surpassed most of his class at the time, with the elders putting his power at being around 2nd of the new generation.

Male claymores were seen as superior in some ways, though their ability to awaken was their downfall. However, the organization would put strict limitations on his ability to even use Yoki in his contracts for slaying Yoma. After "graduating," Naruto would be assigned Hanz as his new handler. Naruto and his Handler had a closer relationship than other claymores, with Hanz seeing Naruto as much more of an adopted son in a way, being a friend of his father. They would sometimes travel together between contracts and generally hang out more than other claymores would with their own handlers. Hanz himself was also seen as not normal among the other handlers. Hanz handled things differently, being logical and reasonable with his choices of the contracts that were assigned to Naruto. Also, many times, Hanz would come to the defense of Claymore 48 and fight for better treatment of 48. Naruto the kind is a happy and good person. However, his ability to keep pushing is what makes him one of the strongest of his generation. This story will follow his journey through being a claymore, the people he meets along the way, his lover, and his ultimate goal.
