Dong Kyung washes her face, splashes cool water several times on her warm cheeks. Still feels overwhelmed by her brazen behavior, climbing up onto a thin wire, barely able to balance her weight. She shudders to think if his reflexes had been a second slower what could've happened. Swallowing against the lump in her throat, opens the bathroom door, finds him sitting on the coach in his living room.
Walking back into her bedroom, brings out bedding, moving aside a coffee table, a small stool, spreads out the blankets on the floor. Dressed in black silk pajama pants and top, Myeol Mang sits with one leg crossed over, arms tightly folded across his broad chest, intently watches her actions. He asks, "What are you doing?" She continues to lay down the blankets, ignores his question. Slightly annoyed, he says, " I asked, What are you doing?" Pausing, briefly amidst her work, states, "I'm laying down the blankets." Frowning, he stares, demands, "Why would you do that over there?" She sighs heavily, says, "Let's sleep together. Or did you say you don't sleep? Then let's just be next to each other. Bring your pillow." Meeting his dark eyes dares him to accept her challenge. Sounding slightly more annoyed, he says, "Since earlier, you are really testing my patience."
Gazing at him, she says, "What? Are you scared? That I will do something to you?" She stares intently into unfriendly eyes, an unsmiling face, but none of that deters her comments. He growls, "You should be the one scared. In case I do something to you." Bravely meeting his angry eyes, says, "I am not afraid." His voice softens, stands, facing Dong Kyung, says, "You can't love me. No human has done that before. Everyone either wants me or resents me but no one ever loves me." Softly speaking "I can. I will, because I have to…." They stare at one another, many words unspoken, sentences left incomplete, thoughts left unheard, only their eyes reflect the emotions both are feeling.
