After Buffy separated from Aurora and everyone, she picked Willow up from her house before heading back to hers for dinner.
"Tell me again how it happened," Willow voiced as Buffy drove her mom's car.
"Told my mom I wanted to be treated more like a grownup, and voila," Buffy voiced as she smiled before adding. "drivenness." She took a sharp turn without slowing down, which shook Willow up.
As Buffy drove, Willow's breathing became increasingly nervous.
"Also, I think she wanted us otherwhere. Considering my mom and Giles were planning our future for us. I think it's easier for them to live our lives if we're not actually there," Buffy finished.
"Do you know that you have the parking brake on?" Willow asked as she noticed the parking brake was on.
"Uh-huh," Buffy lied as she released the parking brake before the engine suddenly began to rev much higher, and they began to accelerate.
"Are, are you sure about the Bronze? I mean, the SATs are tomorrow," Willow nervously questioned.
"Well, we can eat dinner at home, then study at the Bronze," Buffy answered as she smiled before continuing. "A little dancing, a little cross-multiplying." She started smiling wickedly before questioning. "You know what we need?" She reached over, turned on the radio and started to turn the station dial while not looking at the road.
"Eyes on the road! Eyes on the road!" Willow chanted.
While driving back home, Buffy kept switching channels until she noticed a car approaching them and quickly turned the wheel to avoid a collision.
In Giles's apartment across town, Giles was lying on the floor, shirt unbuttoned and without his coat and tie. He was preparing to light a pair of cigarettes while enjoying the sound of Cream's 'Tales of Brave Ulysses' on vinyl through his record player. Joyce sat cross-legged in front of his record cabinet, looking through his albums as she grooved the music.
"You got good albums," Joyce voiced as she perused his collection.
"Yeah, they're okay," Giles returned as he lit the cigarettes.
"Do you like Seals and Croft?" Joyce asked before Giles turned his head and gave her a look. "Yeah, me neither." Giles handed her one of the lit smokes. "Thanks." She took a drag before asking. "So how come they, uh, call you Ripper?"
"Wouldn't like to know," Giles responded as he sat up and didn't answer the question while the song played the guitar riff between verses. "Hmm, wait a minute. Listen to this bit." He got up, smiling as he bobbed his head while waving his cigarette to the beat. "It rocks!"
"It's good," Joyce returned as she took another drag.
"Man, I gotta get a band together," Giles stated as he stood up and walked over to the mirror above the record cabinet, running his fingers through his hair.
"Hey, Ripper, you wanna watch some TV?" Joyce questioned as she stood and leaned against the cabinet before telling him. "I know how to order pay-per-view."
"No, let's go out and have some fun," Giles responded as he took off his outer shirt before adding. "Tear things up."
"Okay. We could go to the Bronze," Joyce suggested.
"Not bloody likely. That place is dead," Giles responded as he kept grooming himself.
After we left Giles's apartment, we headed home. After completing our college projects and homework, we reheated yesterday's dinner and dessert while Cole fed Persephone. Willow and Buffy grabbed the bowls and cutlery while Kate and Kyra poured the drinks.
"So, we're going to the Bronze tonight?" Kate questioned.
"Yep, for some fun and studying," Buffy responded.
I knew Buffy wasn't going to study at the Bronze.
"I'll watch Persephone and not eat the tainted chocolate," Jenna voiced.
"I'll stay tonight as well," Elijah stated.
"Probably a good idea. We don't know what's wrong with it," Kyra replied.
"Yeah, it's probably some time of drug or curse," I suggested.
We sat and ate dinner before Kate, Kyra, Buffy, and I headed upstairs with Persephone and Cole. Cole did Persephone's night routine as we changed for the night. After I changed, I walked into the nursery and saw Persephone dressed and ready for bed.
"Night, my love. Your daddy Elijah and Aunt Jenna will protect you tonight while Mommy, Aunties Kyra, Kate, Buffy, Willow and Daddy Cole are out," I whispered before kissing her goodnight.
Cole passed Persephone to Elijah before kissing Persephone goodnight. Before leaving the nursery, I kissed Elijah goodbye, then Cole and I joined everyone downstairs to head out the door.
In another part of town known as the Bronze, a man had his head tilted back while a bartender poured orange juice and vodka directly into his mouth. His friends were gathered around him, encouraging his behaviour. While Dingoes Ate My Baby performed, you could tell they're older age groups in attendance than usual. The dance floor was very crowded with people of all ages. Devon dances on stage and then leans over to Oz after the lead-in.
"Hey, they're digging us, man!" Devon exclaimed before going into the song.
Across the club, Willow, Buffy and the rest of us walked in. We looked around and saw an unusual age group mixed throughout the crowd while Oz smiled at Willow. We shared a look of surprise mixed with worry as we observed what was happening.
"Let's do the time warp again," Buffy stated as we walked through the crowd.
"Maybe there's a reunion in town or... or a Billy Joel tour or something," Willow suggested.
"Ms. Barton?" Kate questioned as Ms. Barton walked passed us.
"Girls? Whoa!" Ms. Barton said as she stopped and faced us.
"Are you okay, Ms. Barton?" Willow asked.
"Oh, I'm cool, Willow," Ms. Barton answered as she smiled widely before continuing. "Willow... That's a tree." She giggled. "You're a tree!"
We exchanged a look with each other as Ms. Barton continued.
"Yeah, uh... uh... are there any nachos here, little tree?" Ms. Barton questioned as she looked around.
"Would you like to step outside for some fresh air, Ms. Barton?" I suggested.
I suspect that there was something in the chocolate causing the strange behaviour of the adults.
"Okay..." Ms. Barton said as she hysterically laughed before going through the crowd.
"Hey, this is not normal," Kyra voiced as we gave her a look before saying. "Well, maybe that goes without saying for what we normally deal with."
"Hey, gang!" Snyder said as he came up behind us and placed his arms around Willow and Buffy's shoulders. "This place is Fun City, huh?" He laughed.
"Principal Snyder?" Kyra questioned in shock.
"Call me Snyder. Just a last name, like... Barbarino," Snyder said as he tried to be a cool kid while he let go of the girl's arms before pumping his arms and fists around wildly.
Willow, Kate and I leaned slightly away from him as he continued.
"Oooh! I'm so stoked!" Snyder continued.
We had no idea what to make of this as Snyder came down from his outburst and let out a breath.
"Hey, did you see Ms. Barton? I think she's wasted," Snyder said before adding while smiling. "I'm gonna have to put that in her next performance review 'cause... 'cause I'm the principal!" He laughed as he turned around and headed back into the crowd.
"I don't like this," Willow voiced.
"I agree. Any of 'em could have a heart attack," I stated.
"Uh, well... ma-maybe there's a doctor here," Buffy suggested before spotting an older familiar shirtless man jump onto the stage, pushing Deveon away from the microphone and yelling into the crowd.
"Yeeeaaaah!" the familiar doctor yelled into the microphone.
"I think that is Willow and my doctor," Kate voiced as she pointed to the stage.
Kate and Willow share a doctor, while Kyra, Buffy, Jeremy, me and the rest of our group have another doctor. We watched as the doctor jumped from the stage, expecting the crowd to catch him, but they didn't, and he slammed into the floor.
"He-he's usually less... topless," Willow stated as we cringed at the sight.
"I got a commendation for being principal," Snyder voiced as he suddenly reappeared. "From the Mayor!" I could tell he was impressed with himself as he continued. "Shook my hand twice." He gestured with his hand.
"That's nice," Kyra returned as Snyder nodded and inhaled deeply.
"Whoa! There are some foxy ladies here tonight!" Snyder exclaimed as two older beauties walked past us before heading off after them.
"What's happening?" Willow asked as we headed off in the other direction.
"I don't know, but it's happening to a whole of adults," Kate answered as we stopped by the stairs.
I thought back to my vision from before. It has to be some time of spell or curse. We can only hope it will end on its own.
"They're acting like a bunch..." Kyra started to say as we looked around the crowd.
"They're acting like a bunch of us," Buffy finished.
"I don't act like this," Willow said in confusion.
We went to look for a place to sit and listen to the music while waiting for Oz to be done.
Across town in the Milkbar factory, more boxes of chocolate bars kept rolling off the line.
"Demand's high," Trick said as he and Ethan walked through the shipping area.
"I thought it might be," Ethan replied.
"That's the reason I love this country. You make a good product, and the people will come to you," Trick voiced before continuing. "Of course, people gonna die, but that's another reason I love this country."
Trick approached the man inspecting the boxes before they were sealed, causing them to pause their walking.
"Hey! Don't sample the product," Trick told the man.
"But I didn't," The man returned before Trick grabbed him by the overalls, pulled him into a headlock, snapped his neck and threw him to the floor.
Ethan looked away from the body in distaste while Trick straightened his jacket and checked his pinky ring.
"Okay," Ethan said before starting to ask. "Uh, how did you know he was..." They continued their way through the factory.
"I don't. Now I know no one else will," Trick said as he checked his watch before continuing. "We're getting close." He looked at a worker. "Keep it flowing." He turned to Ethan. "It's almost feeding time."
Trick walked away, leaving Ethan behind. Ethan watched Trick walk away in the opposite direction.
Across town in the Bronze, Oz's band was on break, and he was observing the crowd with us.
"Something's definitely changing them," Buffy voiced.
"A spell?" Willow and Kyra brought up.
"They're acting like teenagers," Oz responded. "Looking at it is like staring into a sobering mirror, isn't it?"
"You've got great hair," Snyder said as he walked by us and saw Oz's hair.
Snyder walked around us as we heard a group of old men singing off-key 'Louie Louie' on the stage.
"Louie Louie, Oh, baby... We gotta go... Yeah, yeah, yeah," The old men sang in repeat as an old nerd walked past us while we stared.
"It just gets more upsetting," Willow voiced as we spotted older couples passionately kissing and could hear the old men continue to sing Louie Louie.
I pointed to the stage and stated, "Not a single vampire has ever been as scary as that."
"Fight!" An unknown man yelled as we turned and saw two men fighting.
"Fight!" Snyder repeated as he faced us while he smiled and nodded vigorously.
Kate and Willow sighed helplessly as Buffy, Cole, and I stood up.
"We've gotta figure out what's going on," Buffy voiced as we started out of the club.
"This has the Hellmouth all over it," Cole stated.
Willow, Oz, Kate, and Kyra followed us as I spotted a woman holding out the same chocolate bar we were selling for school to her boyfriend while he took a bite.
"Hey, where are we going?" Snyder asked as we took a moment to observe what caught my attention before leaving the club.
When we got outside, we rushed to the cars. I handed Cole my keys and told him I was going with Buffy. Kate and Kyra got into the car with Cole, while I headed over to Joyce's car with Buffy, Kate, Kyra, Willow and Oz.
"Wait up, you guys!" Snyder said as he came out the door of the club. "Hey! You guys aren't trying to ditch me, are ya?"
I hopped into the passenger seat while Willow and Oz settled into the back, and Buffy took the front seat. I see Snyder catching up to us.
"We should find Giles. He'll know what's going on, right?" Oz stated as I got my cell phone out and on speaker phone with Cole and the others.
Snyder ran to my side door and saw me before running to the driver's side.
"Sure. Expcet for all we know, he's sweet sixteen again," Kate said through the phone as we put on our seat belts.
"He's with your mom at his place," Willow responded as Buffy started the car.
"I said, wait up!" Snyder exclaimed as he opened the back door behind Buffy, got in and slammed the door.
"Uh, Snyder..." Oz started to say.
"Sory, no time. He'll have to come with us," Buffy interrupted as she put the car in gear and slammed on the gas.
"Whoa, Summers! You drive like a spaz!" Snyder voiced as we headed off to find out what was going on.
Across town, two men resembling fathers were preparing for a race on a residential street. They ate chocolate and glanced at each other before devouring their sweet treats. The two men started running down the road immediately after the traffic light changed to green. Meanwhile, in a nearby playground, a man was seated on a carousel, reading other people's mail and laughing. Behind him, couples could be seen kissing and playfully chasing each other. Meanwhile, a group of guys were tossing a Frisbee around.
Back inside the car, we fastly drove along the street as we talked about Giles.
"It'll be okay when we get to Giles," Willow voiced.
"Of course... I mean... even if he's sixteen... he's still Giles, right?" Oz questioned before adding. "He's probably a pretty together guy."
"Yeah, well..." Kyra said through the phone.
"What?" Oz blurted out.
"Giles at sixteen? Less Together Guy..." Buffy started to say.
"More Bad-Magic-Hates-The-World-Ticking-Time-Bomb Guy," I finished her sentence.
"Well, then I guess your mom/aunt are in a lotta trouble," Oz stated as Snyder raised his eyebrows and nodded.
We continued down the road as I could only Aunt Joyce was alright at Giles's apartment.
We were unaware that they had left the apartment and were instead walking on the streets of Sunnydale.
"Must be exciting being from England," Joyce said as she chewed her gum while walking with her arm around Giles.
Giles kicked a can as they walked.
"Not particularly," Giles replied before asking. "You cold?" He took a puff of his cigarette.
"Nah-uh. I feel... special like I'm just waking up, kinda," Joyce returned.
"Oh, yeah?" Giles responded.
"Yeah, like, getting married, having a kid, and everything was just a dream, and now things are back like they're supposed to be," Joyce told him.
"Yeah?" Giles returned as they walked past a boutique with some retro clothes displayed in the window before stopping to look.
"That's cool!" Joyce voiced as she spied a feathered wrap while nodding and smiling. "Very Juice Newton." She chewed on her gum.
"You fancy it?" Giles asked as he checked his hair in the reflection.
"Yeah, but the store's closed," Joyce responded.
After taking a last puff of his cigarette, Giles threw it away and picked up a trashcan. He swung it at the store's display window. As the alarm blared, Joyce swiftly moved away to avoid getting hit by the falling glass shards. Giles made her hysterically laugh and smiled when he climbed in and took the wrap off the mannequin. He took a hat from the figure and put it on his head as Joyce looked around to see if anyone was coming.
"Woo-hoo!" Giles exclaimed as he came out before hopping down onto the sidewalk from the window opening.
"Oh, Ripper! Wow, that was sooo brave!" Joyce told him as he placed the wrap around her.
"Hold it!" An officer said as he appeared behind them while holding his gun at them.
Giles and Joyce froze at the sound of the clicking gun. Not realizing they were being searched for by the slayers.
Across town, we were heading down an intersection as the light was green.
"This is great! Let's do doughnuts on the football field, huh?" Snyder suggested as we drove into the intersection.
"Oh, my God, look out!" Willow and I yelled as we spotted a car driving towards us while tensing up for the impact.
Another car hit us hard on the rear passenger side, causing our vehicle to spin. We didn't know what not was going to happen next.
