Myeol Mang travels with Dong Kyung to an isolated small coastal village where a school's last elementary student has graduated. Walking in the sandy playground, Dong Kyung wonders why Myeol Mang has brought her here to this far away location.
She asks,
"What's this place? Why are we here?"
He hands her a large camera.
Surprised, she inquires,
"What is this? A gift for me?"
Partially annoyed, he says,
"No, your job."
Surprised, she says, "Job?"
Disappointed tone, he says,
"You've become more materialistically lately. Do you want me to buy you something?"
Finally, they arrive at a class room where a young boy sits at a table with his Grandmother. When Myeol Mang slides open the classroom door, the boy's face lights up in joyful pleasure, he cries out "Teacher!"
His Grandmother bows deeply, says,
"Oh, Teacher. I didn't think you would make it."
Myeol Mang appears as an elderly gentleman, grey hair, slightly shorter than his normal height, a worn grey jacket and a worn tired looking face. He quietly tells them,
"I had to come of course, it's the school's last graduation."
Dong Kyung comes in at that instant. The young boy is wary of her presence, asks,
"Who are you?
Stumbling on her words,
"Oh, oh, I am…"
Myeol Mang smoothly says,
"She is a photographer from Seoul. She came to take pictures."
Excitedly the boy asks,
"From Seoul? Did you take the plane?"
Dong Kyung nods
"Oh, yes, to take pictures of you."
She holds the camera steady, aligns the three in the screen and snaps several pictures of them in front of the chalkboard. Amazed is an understatement of how she feels towards Myeol Mang in that instance, she always knew deep down he is a good creature, despite his initial denial otherwise. But, somehow her heart warmed even more looking at him standing next to this young boy full of hopes and dreams for his future.
