4/2/24: Hello again people of FFN! I think you might have caught on now but I'm revising one chapter for every day of this week.
Well I hope you like it.
Original: Hello and welcome back for the 2nd release of this weekend
there are changes from the original to my vision because I made it off the top of my head without a lot of double checking so everything is probably not the same as the original
this is for sure longer, I mean look at how much there is
but uh yeah, I don't own Naruto
NARUTO'S HARD LIFE
One day, Naruto, now 6 years old and living alone, was resting on his bed after looking for food in the alleys and trash. Every single store or restaurant that he had gone to had rejected giving him any service. Suddenly, he heard his door slammed open.
'What was that?!' he thought as he sat up, he had already had his senses heightened because he was never safe outside of his apartment. Clearly he still wasn't safe.
Naruto slowly got out of his bed, trying to limit the creeks it made. He then walked towards the door frame to try to look out.
His apartment wasn't very decorative because he had only enough money for the essentials
As Naruto peered out into the living room, he saw a drunken man opening his cabinets, searching for something.
'What should I do here? He's in the living room so I have to be careful about this, maybe I should try to go out the window!' he thought.
He quietly made his way to the window that was placed next to his bed. He had to be careful or else it would make a noice and alert the intruder.
Narutos heart was beating faster than usual. It had gone faster before but only because he was running away from an angry mob.
Although he didn't like his heartbeat being like this, it did serve as a beat he could rely on to open the window.
Beat after beat after beat, he kept steeling his resolve as he kept being reminded that there was a total stranger in his apartment due to the loud clanging noice of his rarely used pans and kitchen utensils.
Finally, in sync with his heartbeat, he unlocked the window. What he didn't take into account for was the loud snap sound it made.
He heard one deep footsteps after another, each becoming louder and louder. He quickly slid open his window and peered out. His apartment was on the third story, it had made it a hassle for anyone to get to his apartment, which made it safer for him. Clearly being drunk made any hassle easier.
As the footsteps approached, he noticed a long rain pipe next to his window. He got onto the window frame and just about when his hands made contact with the cold steel, he felt a large blunt pain on his back, and then he was falling.
With a loud crunch, he landed on his arm. His back pain was drowned out with the pain of his broken arm. His arm throbbing. His eyes were shaking. His consciousness fading in and out.
He wasn't able to focus but he was aware of everything. The drunken man had already retreated back into the apartment. There was nothing on the man's face that showed any sign of regret. Naruto laid there. No screaming. No crying. Not a single sign that showed he was alive was visible unless you looked carefully enough.
Then, with a quick blur, there was a man in gray armor and a mask. An ANBU. A ninja only loyal to the Hokage appeared before him.
The last thing he saw was a porcelain weasel staring at him.
When Naruto woke up, everything was blurry to him. He could make out plain white curtains surrounding him as well as a blue-tiled floor. He realized he was in the hospital.
There were a few doctors there but he couldn't make out their faces, his vision was blurry. He was still in the process of trying to clear his head from the fuzzy memories and dizziness that he felt.
Naruto was then picked up and kicked out of the hospital but he didn't care, he never liked the hospital all too much, at least not ever since they tried to poison him. Luckily the poison failed.
Naruto slowly walked across the stone path that led out of the hospital while holding his cast. His arm still felt numb and he was wondering if it would stay numb until he got the cast off. As he kept walking, he finally looked up and saw the empty streets of Konoha.
'Where is everyone?' He thought. It was completely unnatural for the streets to be empty. Then he looked up and understood
Dark gray clouds covered the sky all the way to the horizon. As he finally left the perimeter of the Hospital, the first rain drop landed straight on his forehead.
And then it started raining harder than he had ever seen.
Naruto rushed back to the hospital but no amount of banging let him in.
He gritted his teeth and clenched his fist as he looked back at the streets of Konoha.
Naruto quickly got under a building cover and followed the path of buildings that gave protection from rain.
He was walking aimlessly, trying to figure out his way back from the hospital to his apartment. He soon realized that he was actually following the scent of something delicious.
He kept on walking and found a ramen stand.
Naruto's blond, spiky hair was flat due to the rain and his thin body showed through his shirt, Naruto was the complete opposite of healthy looking so when the raman stand owner saw him he quickly invited him in.
Naruto decided to not waste a second and went into the dry warm area that had a comforting atmosphere to it.
"So, what do you want to eat?" The man said with his back turned as he tended to noodles.
His white cooking clothes seemed like a superhero's outfit to Naruto, giving him hope. To Naruto, this man was his hero.
"I-I, I don't have m-money" Naruto said sadly as he looked down to the floor. He was visibly shaking due to the cold rain but the heat from the ramen stand was heating him up just a bit.
"This one is free, you've been through a lot at your age, you need a celebration at least for surviving," the man laughed. "Maybe you can even become a great ninja too!" the man said as he looked back at Naruto with a nice comforting smile, with a cheeky hint to it.
To Naruto, hearing those words hit him deep, no one ever saw Naruto as a survivor, let alone human, he only had the Third Hokage but he seemed distant at times too so hearing those words caused Naruto to break down.
Naruto had opened up to the man and learned his name was Teuchi, he had a daughter called Ayame and she was also nice and kind to him.
These two strangers made Naruto feel human for once, they felt like family to him.
Naruto left the store happily and it seemed that the sky was also letting Naruto have a good time for once because it stopped raining and put a rainbow over his apartment.
For a couple of weeks he would visit the ramen stand and talk to Teuchi and Ayame, he even went over there to tell them that his arm was healed but today was different.
As Naruto was going to the stand, there was a person with blond hair standing in the way, she had wrinkles on her face so she seemed old to Naruto but she was still the scariest person in the village to him.
Her eyes were filled with hate and her teeth gritted together seeming like she had something in her mouth that she was trying to pop.
To Naruto, this woman was the biggest problem in his life, she was in charge of a large portion of the village, she had power to make them do what she says, and she directed them to attack him.
Naruto was never safe because of her and now that he was face to face with her, he froze.
He suddenly became aware of his surroundings and noticed that there was a large number of people cornering him, their eyes having the same glare as the woman.
Naruto's body responded before his brain could and he ran, he ran to the crowd that was around him and he jumped on a person.
He used the villagers as a platform to jump off of and when he was on the other side he ran as fast as he could.
His mind was blank, survival instincts taking over, the sound of footsteps all around him, the shouts of the villagers flooding his ears, and then there were objects thrown at him. He couldn't dodge them since he had no way of knowing where they were so it would slow him down.
And then suddenly, like a tsunami, the hate and sadness from the villagers crashed into him, drowning him with their hurtful feelings. He couldn't keep his mind straight with the overlapping opposing emotions. It got to him so much that he collapsed in the middle of the street.
When Naruto awoke once again, he was laying in a back alley with multiple cuts and bruises spread all around his body.
Garbage surrounded him, the smell of it was about to make him puke but he restrained himself.
He looked at the sky and saw the moon directly above him. 'It's midnight.'
Naruto pushed himself to get up. The pain from the damages stung with every movement that he took.
He limped to his apartment to find his door forced open. He was greeted to his apartment being completely trashed and ransacked.
Tears started forming in his eyes. With a single blink, those tears that were held back by a dam were released and streamed like rivers.
To Naruto, this was a reminder to him that he was still an outcast. Having a couple of friends doesn't change anything.
-End of Chapter-
4/2/24: And another chapter has been revised, although not that much for this one since I didn't see much that needed it. Also ignore what I wrote for the original cause it doesn't hold up anymore. If you are a returning reader that is caught up then you understand why.
Original: I hope you enjoyed it, I don't really know how much is too long so please excuse me on that part
I don't know about you guys but I like to give Naruto a more hurtful past, I mean he has the nine tailed fox in him and people know it yet in the original they just give mean looks? It really doesn't make sense for me. Plus it makes it feel better when Naruto grows stronger and shows that he is a strong ninja.
I feel like making Sakura's mom an antagonist also makes it a little weirder in the team dynamic but that's just a hurdle for our favorite unpredictable ninja to jump over.
Also I'm probably going to stretch Naruto's childhood a lot so give me feedback if you want me to release 2 chapter on the weekend for a while until he becomes a ninja
Anyways that's enough talking from me, I hope you guys enjoyed it, I'll see you guys next weekend!
once again, I don't own Naruto
