Dong Kyung wore all black, except for a long red and black checkered dress coat that created a striking contrast to her outfit. She strode into the pristine, cleanliness, medicinal smelling hospital, hands casually stuffed in her coat pockets, stopped in her tracks by a familiar voice, calling out,
"Editor."
Slightly turning, she sees her doctor standing, expectantly waiting.
Surprised at his sudden appearance, hesitantly smiles, and returns his wave.
Sitting in his office, nervously twists her hands, softly speaks,
"I know what you're going to tell me."
He gently smiles,
"I don't think so. I…am getting married."
Surprised by the older man's nervous behavior, she says
"Excuse me?"
Proudly grinning, he presents Dong Kyung with a wedding invitation. Smiling, he says,
"It's in three months. Please come. That's what I wanted to ask you. I don't have friends. You didn't know this was what I was going to ask, right? See? I said you wouldn't know."
Dong Kyung graciously smiled, a bittersweet sadness came into her eyes, knowing the doctor's kindness at giving her false hope. After offering congratulations, she departed the office heavy hearted.
Walking towards the exit doors, she focused on the invitation, thinking how beautiful the wedding will be, and how wonderful it must feel for the bride.
Suddenly a deep masculine voice asked,
"Are you getting married?"
Glancing up, Dong Kyung found herself staring into Myeol Mang's handsome face. He stood next to the exit doors, wearing a rust colored sweater, black pants and ever present mid length black trench coat. His black hair perfectly parted in the middle, softly fell on either side of his forehead, posture reflected all of his cockiness as he strode over.
As he approached, she questions
"What? Why are you here?"
He ignores her questions, a jealous spark flaring, demands,
"With what jerk?"
Clearly confused, she inquires,
"What?"
He snatched the invitation out of her hands, asking,
"Isn't that a wedding invitation?"
Glancing at the invitation, seeing the names, looking off in the distance, says in a relieved tone,
"Thankfully the bride isn't Tak Dong Kyung."
Puzzled at his strange behavior, glancing up into his dark eyes, accuses,
"But, why are you here? Are you following me around?"
Smirking, he states,
"You must've forgotten, but this place is where doom happens all the time. Before you appeared, this place was my perfect resting and hiding spot."
Dong Kyung steps closely, gazing upward, sarcastically says,
"To be hiding, your face is too noticeable."
She turns, walking away, but hears him following, as he says,
"Only to you."
Quickly turning around, she asks,
"Are you following me?"
Walking behind, hands stuffed in his trench coat pockets, says,
"I'm not."
They continued their back and forth bickering until reaching his red sports car…
